First two matches announced for next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Two matches are already announced for the next Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE’s next Saturday special will take place in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 23. On Raw, two title matches were announced, with The Vision set to defend the World Tag Team titles against The Street Profits. Meanwhile, the Intercontinental title will also be on the line when Penta defends against Ethan Page.

The Street Profits have been a thorn on Austin Theory and Logan Paul’s side ever since they returned on the Raw following WrestleMania. The two teams met face-to-face in the opening segment of Raw, with Montez Ford saying they were coming after the titles. After Joe Hendry came out and sang his ‘Fire Logan Paul’ song, he and the Street Profits went on to beat Bron Breakker, Paul, and Theory after Seth Rollins ran in and laid out Bron Breakker, causing a distraction and allowing Angelo Dawkins to pin Theory with a schoolboy.

Later in the night, Penta arrived and said if Ethan Page wanted a title match, he should say it to his face. Page came out and said that since he pinned Penta last week, he should get a title match. Penta offered to defend the title right then and there, but Page said he wasn’t ready and challenged Penta to a match for Saturday Night’s Main Event instead. Penta accepted, saying he was ready for war.

Reason for World Tag Team title match change on WWE Raw

There’s a reason the advertised World Tag Team title match didn’t happen.

The Usos were originally set to defend the titles on Monday’s Raw in Boston. However, during the week it was changed to a non-title match. According to Bryan Alvarez, the belief is that it was changed so the champions could appear with the titles this Wednesday during MLB Opening Day festivities on Netflix. It was announced earlier on Monday that the twins would be in attendance when the Yankees play the San Francisco Giants.

Their scheduled match with Logan Paul & Austin Theory of The Vision instead turned into a non-title match that ended in a DQ when Jey struck Austin Theory with Logan Paul’s brass knuckles right in front of the referee. Later in the show, Paul Heyman demanded and got a championship match for next week’s Raw at Madison Square Garden, except this time the two teams will face off in a street fight.

Jimmy & Jey were also involved in the main event, with Jey and CM Punk squaring off in a war of words. Roman Reigns came out and got his cousins to leave, but not before spearing Punk and powerbombing him through a table. However, the last images of Raw saw Punk smiling, telling officials he isn’t the one that needs help.

Bron Breakker return, World tag title number one contendership match set for next WWE Raw

One week after being indefinitely suspended, Bron Breakker may already be on his way back.

On Monday’s Raw in Belfast, Adam Pearce met with Paul Heyman and The Vision. Pearce said that he wanted to bring Breakker to Raw next week so they could sit in the same room and iron things out. Heyman said Breakker would be there, but then mocked Pearce by telling him to be on his best behavior.

Breakker and Pearce got into it last week after Breakker attacked Dragon Lee and Penta during a match. As the General Manager of Raw confronted him, Breakker went on a rampage, attacking officials and even shoved Pearce, who informed Breakker in a backstage segment later that he was suspended indefinitely following the altercation.

In a four-way match, The New Day, Alpha Academy (Otis & Akira Tozawa), Los Americanos, and American Made (Brutus & Julius Creed) will battle it out to determine a new number one contender for the World Tag Team titles, which are currently held by the Usos.

The Usos win World Tag Team titles on WWE Raw

The Usos are now nine time tag team champions.

Jimmy & Jey Uso won the World Tag Team titles on the final Raw of 2025, defeating Dragon Lee and AJ Styles. The finish had Dragon Lee hitting a dive on Jimmy as Styles got a nearfall with the Styles Clash. Lee & Styles were looking to use their double team finish when Jimmy recovered and laid out both with superkicks. Jey got back to his feet and the two brothers laid out Dragon Lee with the 1D to score the victory. Raw closed out the year with the Usos celebrating their latest tag team title victory.

Earlier this month, the reunited brothers made it known they were back in Raw’s tag team division and were looking to get a shot at the titles held by Styles and Lee. They picked up a victory over the New Day on their way to Monday’s title match.

The win comes as Jey had been frustrated in recent months over his losing streak as a singles wrestler. After losing to LA Knight in the Last Time is Now tournament last month he threw a fit, destroying a Prime Energy display.

Finn Balor & JD McDonagh win World Tag Team titles on WWE Raw

New World Tag Team Champions have been crowned.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh regained the World Tag Team titles on Raw, defeating The New Day to win the titles for a second time. The finish had Kofi Kingston go for a plancha on the outside, but missed, allowing Balor to hit a slingblade. After McDonagh hit Woods with a moonsault, Balor followed with the coup de grace off the top rope for the win.

After the match Balor, McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio celebrated their win on the outside, holding their titles as fireworks went off.

Balor & McDonagh won the titles for the first time last year, defeating the Awesome Truth. They lost to the War Raiders on the December 16 edition of Raw, who carried them until WrestleMania 41 when they lost to The New Day.

The Judgment Day has seen some changes in recent weeks with the release of Carlito and the absence of Liv Morgan, who is recovering from shoulder surgery after an injury suffered in the ring earlier this month. He’s invited Roxanne Perez into the group, who has quickly made friends with Raquel Rodriguez and are now recogized as the Women’s Tag Team Champions.

War Raiders win World Tag Team titles on WWE Raw

War Raiders have won the gold.

Ivar & Erik defeated Finn Balor and JD McDonagh in the main event of Raw on Monday to win the titles for a second time. The finish had Balor looking to use a steel chair, attempting to grab one on the outside. However, Damian Priest grabbed the chair from ringside, causing a distraction as Balor went back to the ring. That allowed the War Raiders to hit the War Machine on Balor for the win. The duo celebrated with a big pyro celebration to close out the show.

The War Raiders previously earned a World Tag Team title match on the November 25 edition of Raw thanks to interference by Judgment Day. On last week’s episode, Adam Pearce told Balor & McDonagh that the War Raiders would get another shot at the titles, but this time their fellow teammates would be barred from ringside.

After Balor interfered in his World Heavyweight title match at Survivor Series, Gunther challenged Balor to a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, putting the title on the line. After Balor laid out both Priest and Gunther, Priest was added to the title match that saw Gunther retain after pinning Balor with a powerbomb.

War Raiders earn World Tag Team title match on WWE Raw

New number-one contenders were crowned on Raw.

The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) became the new contenders for the World Tag Team titles on Monday’s show, winning a three-way bout over the LWO (Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee) and The New Day. The match’s finish had Kofi Kingston positioning Dragon Lee for the finish. However, Xavier Woods instead went after Mysterio, who was entering the ring. Mysterio dodged, sending Woods out of the ring. Mysterio and Lee gained the advantage over Kingston, but suddenly Chad Gable dragged Mysterio out of the ring and hooked him in an ankle lock. The War Raiders used the opportunity to take out Kingston and pin him to become the new number-one contenders.

It wasn’t clear when the War Raiders would compete for the World Tag Team titles, which are currently held by Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

After Ivar and Erik spent months on the shelf, they returned as a team on the October 7 edition of Raw, defeating Alpha Academy in the first round of a tournament to determine new number-one contenders for the titles. After being known as The Viking Raiders for most of their main roster run, they reverted back to their NXT name upon their return.

Erik & Ivar return as War Raiders on WWE Raw

The War Raiders are back.

Ivar and Erik made their return on Monday’s Raw, quickly defeating American Alpha (Akira Tozawa and Otis). It was quickly made clear that the duo have now reverted to the names they used in NXT, the War Raiders. As a result of their win, they have now advanced in a new tournament to crown number one contenders for the World Tag Team titles.

Earlier in the show, Finn Balor confronted Adam Pearce, asking when he’d get his rematch against Damian Priest. Pearce told him that things were over between the two, and now it’s time to focus on defending the World Tag Team titles with JD McDonagh.

The War Raiders had been out of action as a team since last year when Erik announced he was recovering from neck fusion surgery. Ivar continued to wrestle as a single until this past May when he announced that he was dealing with a “very serious injury”. Valhalla is currently pregnant with her and Erik’s second child.

On the September 23 edition of Raw, vignettes began airing for their return, with the first promo ending with the words “fate is woven.”
