NJPW World Tag League 2025 finals set

The finals of NJPW World Tag League 2025 are now set with Yota Tsuji & Gabe Kidd advancing over the IWGP Tag Team Champions.

It will be Tsuji & Kidd vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Ryohei Oiwa this Sunday (December 14) to determine the winners of World Tag League 2025. That was confirmed this morning with Tsuji & Kidd defeating OSKAR & Yuto-Ice to earn their spot in the finals.

There has been dissension between Tsuji & Kidd throughout the tournament due to them being a makeshift team of singles wrestlers, but they vowed to get onto the same page heading into the finals. After Tsuji took out Yuto-Ice, they used their double-team War Blaster finisher on OSKAR to get the win after a 20-minute match.

A face-to-face between Tsuji & Kidd and Sabre & Oiwa then took place at the end of today’s show, with Kidd telling Sabre that he’s surpassed him as the best English wrestler in NJPW. The confrontation broke up without any physicality. Tsuji & Kidd then cut a promo to close the night.

Both Tsuji & Kidd and Sabre & Oiwa finished in second place of their respective block but managed to defeat the other block’s champion in the semifinals. No matter which team prevails on Sunday, it will be their first time winning Tag League. Kidd was in the 2024 finals — but he and SANADA lost to Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi.

The winning team will earn bragging rights, the World Tag League 2025 trophy, and the right to challenge OSKAR & Yuto-Ice for the IWGP Tag Team titles.

First team advances to NJPW World Tag League 2025 finals

Zack Sabre Jr. & Ryohei Oiwa are heading to the finals of NJPW World Tag League 2025.

The tournament semifinals began today with TMDK defeating Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) to earn their spot in Sunday’s finals. They’ll be facing either OSKAR & Yuto Ice or Yota Tsuji & Gabe Kidd to determine the Tag League champions.

Sabre & Oiwa finished second in B Block but were able to defeat the A Block champions in the semifinals. At the end of a 24-minute match, Oiwa connected with a Chaos Theory suplex on Goto. Sabre then followed up with a pin on Goto for the win.

Backstage after their victory, Oiwa spoke about wanting to claim his first trophy in NJPW. Sabre said they’re ready to defeat whichever team they face in the finals.

OSKAR & Yuto-Ice and Tsuji & Kidd had a confrontation on today’s show ahead of their semifinal match taking place this Friday. Tsuji & Kidd, who have had dissension despite a successful run in the tournament, agreed to stop bickering and get on the same page.

The Tag League finals are happening in Kumamoto on December 14. Along with bragging rights, the match will determine challengers for the IWGP Tag Team titles (if champions OSKAR & Yuto-Ice do not win).

First two teams advance to NJPW World Tag League 2025 semifinals

The A Block representatives in the World Tag League 2025 semifinals were determined on Monday with Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHi and Yota Tsuji & Gabe Kidd advancing out of block action.

Entering the last night of A Block matches, there was a logjam at the top of the standings with four teams tied with eight points. Goto & YOSHI-HASHI and Tsuji & Kidd emerged as the only teams to reach the 10-point mark. Because they defeated Tsuji & Kidd earlier in the tournament, Goto & YOSHI-HASHI earned first place in the block while Tsuji & Kidd are the second-place finishers.

Here are the quick results from today:

  • A Block: Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI defeated Shingo Takagi & Drilla Moloney
  • A Block: Toru Yano & Oleg Boltin defeated EVIL & Don Fale

After B Block has its final night tomorrow, the semifinals will take place this Wednesday (December 10) and Friday (December 12). The finals will then be held on Sunday (December 14). Goto & YOSHI-HASHI will face the second-place team from B Block, and Tsuji & Kidd will meet the B Block winners.

The winning team will be in line to challenge for the IWGP Tag Team titles, which are currently held by OSKAR & Yuto-Ice.
