WWE NXT results: A Glorious Celebration

The Big News: Bobby Roode had his Glorious Celebration after winning the NXT Championship at TakeOver.

The Medium News: SAnitY went 2-0, winning the tag team opener and the six-man main event.

The Little Beaver-sized News: The Revival challenged The Authors of Pain for NXT TakeOver: Orlando.

**********

Nigel McGuinness has officially taken over for Corey Graves. Plus they have already updated the opening video package to include footage from TakeOver.

**********

SAnitY defeated The Bollywood Boyz

The fans cheered for Harv and Gurv Sihra, but they also recognized they were the lambs being led to slaughter. Alexander Wolfe and the very hairy Killian Dain were the representatives of SAnitY. Harv and Gurv both got run over by Dain. Neither had any luck on their own nor when they tried to double team.

Dain used a Wasteland on Gurv and then powerbombed Harv on top of his brother before he finished off The Bollywood Boyz with the One Winged Angel. Wolfe never tagged in and never needed to.

Nikki Cross bellowed to bring her Asuka after the match and then slammed her head into the turnbuckles. Eric Young cut a promo about how he humbled Tye Dillinger and is telling Dillinger he belongs with SAnitY.

**********

Liv Morgan defeated Billie Kay

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce’s ring entrance was absurdly long and Liv Morgan had to stand there and watch. Morgan kicked out of Eat Defeat a minute in. She made her comeback and won with a roll-up when she knocked Kay into Royce, who had jumped up on the apron.

**********

Tye Dillinger was staring off into the distance backstage and said that he was not humbled by SAnitY and will also not be joining them. Dillinger was about to talk about being in the Royal Rumble when SAnitY attacked him! They beat on Dillinger all the way to the ring when Roderick Strong and No Way Jose ran in for the save.

The three of them teamed up to send SAnitY fleeing for the back.

**********

William Regal was backstage and announced Tyler Bate vs. Trent Seven for the WWE UK Championship next week.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce stormed into the office and demanded a match against Liv Morgan. They wanted a handicap match, but when Mr. Regal made a tag team match (allowing Morgan to team with anyone) they began laughing saying Morgan has no friends.

**********

The Revival defeated Heavy Machinery

Heavy Machinery is Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic, and they have officially re-debuted on TV. They originally wrestled together during the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after being a regular team on the NXT house show circuit.

Knight and Dozovic towered over The Revival. At one point Knight had Dash Wilder up with a bearhug and then literally threw him into the arms of Dozovic, who had his own bearhug.

The former two-time champs got the heat on Dozovic. Knight got the hot tag and ran wild on The Revival. Knight went to tag out, but Wilder pulled Dozovic off the apron. Knight chased Wilder all around the ring, but when he rolled back in, Scott Dawson kicked him in the gut and pinned him with a DDT.

The Revival cut a promo, reminding people that they are the greatest tag team in NXT. They stated that they were the Tag Team of The Year, which led to a few fans chanting that they deserve it. Revival said DIY never deserved to be Tag Team Champions, which was proven when they got demolished by The Authors of Pain. They said they have carried the tag team division and said that at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, they will make the AOP a footnote.

Before they could leave, out came the new NXT Tag Team Champions, The Authors of Pain. Revival ducked out of the ring, pantomiming that they won’t wrestle until money and the championships are on the line.

As AOP backed up the aisle, The Revival ran in from out of nowhere, attacking Akam and Rezar from behind! They knocked Akam off the ramp, kicked Rezar a few times, and then ran away.

**********

SAnitY vs. Dillinger, Strong & Jose was made for tonight’s main event.

**********

To prepare for his title defense against Trent Seven next week, we got a video package for Tyler Bate.

**********

It was time for the Glorious Celebration! For the first time since becoming the NXT Champion, Bobby Roode has arrived in Full Sail University. Roode must have watched Billie Kay and Peyton Royce’s entrance from earlier as he decided to somehow take even longer walking to the ring.

I just wanted to mention, as a quick trivia note, when the current NXT debuted in June 2012 and crowned their first champion, the TNA Champion was Bobby Roode.

Roode said he is not the guy to walk around and say that he told you so, but then began laughing, saying he is totally that guy. From the moment he stepped into an NXT ring, he told everybody that he was on a completely different level. Night after night, TakeOver after TakeOver, he proved just that.

Roode said Shinsuke Nakamura dominated Japan for a decade (he stopped to tell people what a decade was) and then he came to NXT and defeated every person he got in the ring with…except Roode. Nakamura hit him with everything he had, including the Kinshasa, and despite that he still didn’t get the job done.

He said winning the title was the single greatest moment in NXT history because now they have a real champion. He did a little bit of a Ric Flair strut and said it is no longer “We are NXT,” it is Bobby Roode’s NXT. He finished by saying this NXT is simply glorious.

**********

Next up we got a Trent Seven video package, discussing Mustache Mountain and showing highlights of the UK title tournament.

**********

SAnitY defeated Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong & No Way Jose

SAnitY was in the opener and the main event this week. After each babyface had made their individual entrances, they attacked SAnitY on the ramp.

Jose and Wolfe grabbed each other’s hair and beard, but Jose got the better of their interaction. Young tagged in and Jose again got the better of EY. Finally Dain tagged in and got sustained offense on Dillinger while screaming at the other babyfaces.

Dain tagged out, which allowed Dillinger to make the hot tag to Strong. Strong heaved Wolfe into the air for a backbreaker. Strong went for a Sick Kick on Young, but Dain tripped Strong. Dillinger hit the Tye Breaker on Young but, behind the referee’s back, Nikki Cross gave Dillinger a hurricarana over the top rope.

While that was going on, Dain ran over Strong and Young pinned him, giving SAnitY the win.

So that does it for this week. Thank you all for reading and until next week remember to say your vitamins and take your prayers!

NXT Largo, FL, live results: Asuka, Dillinger & Heavy Machinery vs. SAnitY

Images: @JJWilliamsWON

Tonight’s show was in front of a sold-out crowd of 350 people.

– Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins defeated The Ealy Brothers

This match had a lot of banter, with the twins calling their opponents “lightweights” to get them riled up. Ford & Dawkins used a double team elevated DDT for the win.

– Steve Cutler defeated Brennan Williams

Cutler was running down everyone for being cowards before the match. Williams stood up for the people and hit a big back drop suplex. This was a physical match that Cutler won with a stomp off the middle turnbuckle.

– Oney Lorcan defeated Kishan Raftaar

A straight jacket Camel Clutch got the submission win for Lorcan.

– Victoria Gonzalez cut an in-ring promo where she talked about checking goals off her list. The crowd was receptive to her.

– Ember Moon & Daria Berenato defeated Heidi Lovelace & Mandy Rose

Very good action here. Moon changed it up and finished this with a sidewalk slam.

– Kassius Ohno defeated Buddy Murphy

Murphy always delivers on live events, and Kassius is Kassius, so this was TV worthy for sure. Ohno hit his Death By Elbow out of the corner for the victory.

– Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated No Way Jose

This had comedy early until Almas took advantage late and hit the hammerlock DDT to win.

– Roderick Strong defeated Elias Samson

Good match. Strong won with the Sick Kick.

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka, Tye Dillinger & Heavy Machinery defeated SAnitY in an eight-person mixed tag

Incredible atmosphere, with a huge reaction for Dillinger. The big build ups were for the women to face off and for Young vs. Dillinger. Great stuff, and the crowd was into everything. Dillinger hit the Tye Breaker on Young, then Asuka submitted Cross with the Asuka Lock to send everyone home happy.

WWE NXT results: Corey Graves says goodbye to NXT

The Big News: It was Corey Graves’ last night so they aired a lengthy tribute video to him.

The Medium News: Tyler Bate made his first appearance since the UK Championship tournament and defeated Oney Lorcan.

The Little Beaver-sized News: Kassius Ohno returned in a backstage segment, consoling Shinsuke Nakamura after Nakamura lost the title.

*******

The show started with a video recapping NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. As I mentioned on Saturday, this show greatly exceeded expectations and I would make sure to check it out if you haven’t already.

*******

Corey Graves is still on the show. I know this was taped before TakeOver, but they did imply that Nigel McGuinness would be taking over this week.

*******

Ember Moon defeated Aliyah

Aliyah is seemingly an unknown babyface. She got almost no reaction coming out except for a few people booing who assumed she was a heel.

Moon used an abdominal stretch where she pushed Aliyah’s head down further, to the point that her body was completely bent over. Aliyah got some offense, just enough to show that she is far from ready for a bigger role. Moon walked up the ropes with a moonsault press for a two count and then finished off Aliyah with The Eclipse.

*******

We got an Eric Young promo from after TakeOver. Then they showed Tye Dillinger in the Royal Rumble and him being excited about taking part. They also had a post-match promo where he said that the whole experience was surreal.

*******

That brought us to the Asuka video package. Asuka said her match was tough, but she is still champion. Asuka laughed about Ember Moon challenging her, asking if Moon actually works here.

*******

Ember Moon cut a promo after being told what Asuka said about her. The interviewer recited the question in record speed. Moon said she is happy Asuka won because she wanted to be the one to dethrone her and Asuka will know who Ember Moon is.

*******

WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate defeated Oney Lorcan

Bate walked to the ring waving to everyone. This was a solid match that the crowd got into. Bate used the airplane spin and then the Tyler Driver ’97 for the win. Bate did the same thing he did in the UK tournament where he did the spin, stopped and teased being too dizzy, and then continued for a few more rotations.

*******

Roderick Strong cut a post-TakeOver promo, saying beating Andrade “Cien” Almas was a statement and he is continuing his quest to be NXT Champion.

*******

We move to the NXT Tag Team Championship match from Saturday. Paul Ellering, after the match, said they are the new sheriff, the new law, they will show no mercy and take victory at all costs.

*******

Then we got the recap of the NXT title match. We got footage of after the show went off the air where Shinsuke Nakamura was helped to the back and treated by the trainers. Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno made his return on TV, telling Nakamura that the situation really sucks.

Bobby Roode was elsewhere and offended that he would be asked if he still would’ve won if Nakamura hadn’t been injured. Roode said that when he debuted he said this was his NXT and now the Bobby Roode era has begun. Of course, he finished by saying his title reign would be glorious.

*******

Next week will be Bobby Roode’s glorious celebration.

*******

Tom Phillips wished good luck to Corey Graves, since tonight is his last night on commentary in NXT. We got a lengthy video package covering Graves’ career, from in the ring and then to the broadcast booth.

This was a really good video package. It’s available to watch below:

*******

No Way Jose defeated Elias Samson

Graves spent minutes flipping out that the last match he was calling featured The Drifter. As always, Samson got the go away heat from people not wanting to hear his song.

Samson ran across the ring with a dropkick at the start of the match, but Jose took over quickly. Graves was suddenly thrilled with leaving Samson, Tom Phillips, and Percy Watson behind when he was reminded that he still had to deal with Byron Saxton.

Samson finally got the heat when he crotched Jose on the top rope. Jose made his comeback, hitting chops and won with the pop-up punch to the face.

So that does it for this week. Thank you all so much for reading and until next week, remember to say your vitamins and take your prayers!

NXT Houston, TX, live results: Nakamura & Dillinger vs. Roode & Joe

Image: @WWENXT. Report submitted by reader Nick Heidecker.

– No Way Jose defeated Elias Samson with a pop-up punch.

The Drifter came out first and ran down Houston. He sang his version of “Wanted Dead or Alive” and got booed like crazy. Jose was over with most of the crowd.

– SAnitY defeated Cedric Alexander & Heavy Machinery after Eric Young hit a wheelbarrow neckbreaker on Tucker Knight.

SAnitY’s entrance is very cool live. They didn’t get many boos as everyone loves EY. The match was decent with some big man spots between Otis Dozovic and Damo. Otis is surprisingly short.

– Roderick Strong defeated Wesley Blake after hitting a Sick Kick.

Not much to the match. Blake tried to get cheap heat by running down Houston. Roddy wasn’t very over here, but he did fine in the match.

– NXT Tag Team Champions DIY defeated The Revival to retain their titles with Johnny Gargano submitting Scott Dawson.

The Authors of Pain jumped DIY before the match and attacked Gargano’s arm/shoulder. He sold it all match. Dash Wilder got a roll-up pin on Gargano, but the ref reversed the decision because Dawson was the legal man.

Another typical great match between these teams. It was easily the best match of the night. Authors of Pain came out again after the match, but DIY was ready, so they backed down.

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way match to retain her title after submitting Kay with the Asuka Lock.

Very sloppy match. They have a lot to work on before Saturday.

– Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Akira Tozawa with a hammerlock DDT.

Great match that was back and forth. Almas is more over now that he is a heel than he ever was as a face.

– NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura & Tye Dillinger defeated Samoa Joe & Bobby Roode after Nakamura hit a Kinshasa on Joe.

Great, fun main event where everyone shined. Lots of Royal Rumble chants and posing afterward.

NXT Ft. Pierce, FL, live results: Fatal four-way tag team elimination match

Images: @JJWilliamsWON

Tonight’s approximate attendance was 350 people.

– Aleister Black defeated Patrick Clark

This was a good match. Black won with a flying knee. He was back to wearing his trunks after sporting combat shorts previously.

– Mandy Rose defeated Heidi Lovelace

Rose got the win with the Angel’s Wings slam.

– Brennan Williams defeated Kishan Raftaar with a side slam.

– Liv Morgan cut a promo in the ring about Daria Berenato. Morgan called Berenato a “lousy Ronda Rousey.” She said that Berenato “wasn’t tough enough for Tough Enough.”

– The Revival defeated Heavy Machinery, Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford, and SAnitY in a fatal four-way elimination match

Great work by everyone here. It was a long match that got plenty of time. The Revival ran all their distractions and did double team work.

Revival and SAnitY were the last two teams. Scott Dawson hit a superplex on Alexander Wolfe. Nikki Cross tried to get involved but was almost knocked off the apron, which gave enough time for Dash Wilder to make it in for the Shatter Machine.

– Elias Samson defeated Oney Lorcan

The Drifter played a song for us about how awful Fort Pierce is before the match. Lorcan was jumped before the bell rang and Drifter kept the advantage most of the way. Lorcan later took Samson’s guitar and teased breaking it to a huge reaction. Lorcan tossed the guitar and rolled up Samson for two. Samson then hit a spinning neckbreaker for the win.

– Daria Berenato defeated Macey Estrella

Before the match, Berenato responded to Liv Morgan’s promo from earlier, mentioning Hooters, and that the next time she saw her it was on. Berenato got the victory with a spinebuster.

– NXT Tag Team Champions DIY & Tye Dillinger defeated The Authors of Pain & Wesley Blake

The crowd went crazy for Dillinger as the third man. DIY had “10” signs of their own to join in the fun. The audience chanted “Royal Rumble” at Dillinger and “ DITye” for the team.

Dillinger hit the Tye Breaker on Wesley Blake to win the match for his team. They celebrated and Dillinger bowed to the crowd, then shook hands with his partners before leaving.

Two more matches set for NXT TakeOver: San Antonio

There are now five matches officially set for NXT TakeOver: San Antonio as WWE may have rounded out the card on the episode of NXT TV that aired on the Network tonight.

Two matches were announced for the Royal Rumble weekend show. Roderick Strong will make his TakeOver debut in a match against Andrade “Cien” Almas, while Eric Young will have his first match on one of NXT’s quarterly specials as he takes on Tye Dillinger.

After cutting a promo on tonight’s episode about the disappointment he’s faced in the ring lately, Dillinger refused Young’s invitation to join SAnitY before being laid out by Big Damo to set up the match. Strong defeated Steve Cutler and then said in an interview that he came to NXT to win the title.

NXT TakeOver: San Antonio will take place on January 28th at the Freeman Coliseum before the city’s Alamodome hosts the Royal Rumble the next night. The updated card for the show is:

  • NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defending against Bobby Roode
  • NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defending against Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way match
  • NXT Tag Team Champions DIY defending against The Authors of Pain
  • Roderick Strong vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas
  • Eric Young vs. Tye Dillinger

NXT Ocala, FL, live results: Tommy End gets a new name

Images: JJ Williams

The approximate attendance tonight was 350 people.

– The show opened with an in-ring interview with Dory Funk Jr., who thanked Matt Bloom and NXT before SANITY’s music hit. Before they could make it to the ring, Wesley Blake slid in to hold them off which gave enough time for Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic to also join in. That led to a six-man tag.

– Wesley Blake, Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic defeated SANITY

Some good stuff here. There was a hoss fight between Dozovic and Damo, each member of the face team did bear hugs on Eric Young, and finally a big top rope splash by Blake got the victory.

– Gran Metalik defeated Ariya Daivari

A Metalik Driver got the win.

– Kona Reeves defeated Mustafa Ali

Ali missed a 450 and Reeves stole the pin with his feet on the ropes.

– Kassius Ohno defeated Angelo Dawkins

This was a strong match. Dawkins took most of the match before Ohno fired up and put him down with an elbow.

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka & Aliyah defeated Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

Good action here with Asuka catching Royce in the Asuka Lock for the submission.

– Aleister Black (formerly known as Tommy End) defeated Elias Samson

The crowd was all over The Drifter tonight with booing and chants. Black hit a flying knee for the win.

– Roderick Strong & Tye Dillinger defeated The Revival

Absolutely incredible crowd reaction. This was the loudest chanting in Florida that I’ve ever experienced. “You’re a chicken” chants almost sent The Revival out the door as they took the mic and proclaimed “Top Guys out.”

Strong and Dillinger chased them down. They brawled around ringside and finally got it in the ring a good 15 minutes into the match. Revival used all the tricks in the book to take advantage of Strong to lead to a Dillinger hot tag. He ran wild and won it with the Tye Breaker as Strong hit a backbreaker to send everyone home happy.

WWE NXT results: A fatal four-way decides the new number one contender

The Big News: Bobby Roode became the number one contender to the NXT Championship as he won the fatal four-way elimination main event.

The Medium News: Billie Kay and Peyton Royce have a death wish, as they made a challenge to Asuka.

The Little Beaver Sized News: Nikki Cross also has one, as she laughed at Asuka during an interview.

*********

Billie Kay defeated Daria Berenato

We started things off in the ring with Billie Kay going one-on-one with Daria Berenato, formerly of Tough Enough. Kay and Peyton Royce had previously asked Berenato to be their partner in a six-woman tag, but then walked out on her during the match.

The story of this match was that Kay did not stand a chance in a singles bout with Berenato. Berenato beat her inside and outside the ring and all over the ringside area. However, Royce rammed Berenato into the ring apron and Kay won with the running boot to the face.

After the match, both Kay and Royce issued a challenge to Asuka.

*********

The Authors of Pain defeated John Oregon & Anthony Owens via ref stoppage

Akam and Rezar completely destroyed Owens. Oregon, who was standing on the apron, tried leaving, but was intimidated back into the ring and destroyed. The AoP did the move where they pick both men up in a powerbomb and slam them together. After throwing them on top of each other, Akam and Rezar went for their finish, but the ref stepped in and called the match.

Paul Ellering then announced that all roads lead to San Antonio. They don’t care if it is DIY or The Revival, the Authors of Pain are on a seek and destroy mission to become the next NXT Tag Team Champions.

*********

Asuka cut a promo and said Peyton Royce and Billie Kay need to be careful because they are no competition to her. Nikki Cross was shown off to the side of the stage laughing at the champ.

*********

Up next was a video package recapping how all four men made it into tonight’s main event.

*********

Bobby Roode defeated Tye Dillinger, Andrade “Cien” Almas, and Roderick Strong in a fatal four-way elimination match to become the new number one contender for the NXT Championship

It was announced before the match started that the winner would get their title shot against Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. Corey Graves did the Bobby Heenan gimmick and picked everyone to win the match. The match began at 8:30, which gave them a lot more time than the usual NXT TV main event.

The first hot move of the match was Almas laying out both Dillinger and Strong in the middle of the ring. Almas went for a top rope moonsault, but both men rolled out of the way. However, Almas landed on his feet and went immediately for a standing moonsault on Strong, but he got his knees up.

Everyone was going for covers as soon as they could. Strong knocked Roode out of the ring, where Almas and Dillinger already were, and did a twisting dive over the top onto all three men. Back in the ring, Roode tried to roll-up Strong with his feet on the ropes, but the referee wouldn’t count despite their being no disqualifications.

We got the stacked up superplex, with Dillinger being the man powerbombing the pile. Almas hit his corner knees, but when he dragged Dillinger into the middle, Strong hit a Sick Kick on Almas for the pin.

Strong and Dillinger worked really well together, while Roode caught a breather on the floor. After a fun two minutes, Dillinger hit the Tye Breaker out of nowhere for the pin on Strong.

Then there were two. The two men who faced off at NXT TakeOver: Toronto were now facing off one more time with a shot at the championship on the line.

Dillinger looked good here, hitting one great move after another and getting several near falls. However, Roode took his head off with a clothesline. Roode went outside and grabbed a chair, but as he approached his foe, Dillinger nailed a superkick! Roode kicked out after Dillinger made the cover.

Dillinger went for another Tye Breaker, but Roode got out and hit a spinebuster. Roode went for the Impaler DDT, but Dillinger got out and hit the Tye Breaker! Dillinger made the cover yet again, and Roode kicked out again. Dillinger went for a third Tye Breaker, but Roode slipped out and deposited Dillinger groin-first on the corner. Dillinger fell down and Roode became the number one contender with the impaler DDT!

It has happened and now, five weeks from this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, Shinsuke Nakamura will defend the NXT Championship against Bobby Roode! We are on the road to Takeover, what will happen next week? Until then, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays!

NXT Canberra, Australia, live results: Nakamura & Dillinger vs. Joe & Roode

Image: WWE Australia. Results submitted by reader Greg Delaney.

– TM61 defeated The Revival

– Patrick Clark defeated Wesley Blake

– Ember Moon defeated Aliyah with the top rope stunner.

– Buddy Murphy defeated Akira Tozawa

This was the best match of the night. It started with some sportsmanship over a handshake but turned into a hard-hitting match with plenty of strikes and suplexes. It was the only thing all night to get a “This is awesome” chant.

– NXT Tag Team Champions DIY defeated Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss

The heels still need some polishing but DIY carried them to the second best match of the show.

– William Regal came out for a quick speech.

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka & Liv Morgan defeated Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

For whatever reason, the Aussies were the heels. Royce and Kay showed way more charisma here than they ever have on TV. Royce grabbed her left knee after the match and was helped to the back by the ref and Kay. I’m not sure if she was just selling or not though.

– Oney Lorcan defeated Elias Samson

There were shenanigans with The Drifter’s guitar and Lorcan rolled him up for the pin.

-NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura & Tye Dillinger defeated Samoa Joe & Bobby Roode

Nakamura pinned Roode. The main event was good, but no one wanted to boo any of the guys. It’s amazing how great Joe is live.

WWE NXT results: Samoa Joe takes on the Perfect 10

The Big News: Tye Dillinger slapped Samoa Joe…and then paid for it as he was choked into unconsciousness in the main event.

The Medium News: No Way Jose could beat two people, but four was just too many as SAnitY prevailed and Eric Young picked up the win.

The Little Beaver Sized News: Asuka claimed there is no competition left after she destroyed Nicole Matthews

**********

This show was taped before SmackDown on November 22nd, so tonight (and tonight only) we are hailing from Ottawa.

**********

NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Nicole Matthews

The show kicked off with the reigning, undefeated, undisputed NXT Women’s Champion going one-on-one with indie wrestler Nicole Matthews.

Matthews got in several strikes, but it was demoralizing as Asuka would shake off every one and come back for more, which killed Matthews’ confidence. Asuka laid her out with a series of kicks, but then Matthews fell before the big kick, which may have been a botch, but the announcers sold it as something she meant to do.

Whether she meant to do it or not, she didn’t last much longer as Asuka transitioned into a cross armbreaker and then into the Asuka Lock for the tap out.

**********

Rich Swann was closing in on a victory last week when SAnitY hit the ring and laid out Swann and his opponent Kona Reeves. No Way Jose had made a challenge to EY, which set up tonight’s match.

**********

This Saturday in Osaka, Japan, Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge new NXT Champion Samoa Joe for the championship.

**********

Speaking of that, Joe cut a promo backstage saying that it’s clear Regal wants the belt on Nakamura, but it’s also clear that Nakamura is not on Joe’s level and he will prove that again on Saturday.

Up walked Tye Dillinger who challenged him to a match. Joe said that he would hate to embarrass Dillinger a second time in his home country. Dillinger then slapped Joe in the face and ran off. Oh well, sorry Tye, but Joe is gonna kill you.

**********

Eric Young defeated No Way Jose

A lot of fans were into Jose, with kids clapping along to his theme song and adults literally dancing in the stands. Jose looked good in this match as EY bumped all over creation for him. Jose finally got cut off when Alexander Wolfe distracted him and Young dropped him neck-first on the top rope. Young broke out a dragon sleeper where he was standing on the middle rope.

Jose made his comeback and was on the verge of winning in spite of Wolfe’s attempted interference, but Nikki Cross and Sawyer Fulton also interfered and that was too much. The former TNA World Champion picked up the win with the wheelbarrow neckbreaker!

Nikki Cross looked like she was about to go crazy on Jose after the match, but Wolfe restrained her. Cross broke free when leaving the ring, ran back in, and laid out Jose with a missile dropkick.

**********

Next week we will be joined by the new NXT Tag Team Champions, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, who will make their first appearance since winning the belts.

**********

Asuka cut a promo saying she hasn’t changed. She just wants competition, but there isn’t any left.

**********

Tye Dillinger said it may have been an emotional reaction to challenge Joe, but if he can’t beat Joe tonight then maybe he doesn’t belong here. However, he intends to prove he is the best and that he does in fact belong here.

**********

During the commercial hyping up the Osaka live event, they said that they would be filming the show for the WWE Network but didn’t mention what it was for.

**********

NXT Champion Samoa Joe defeated Tye Dillinger

Joe got the best reaction of the show so far. It wasn’t an overwhelming reaction, but a good reaction nonetheless. Dillinger got an equal reaction, which was equal parts being Canadian and the 10 gimmick. Ultimately, fans like having things to chant.

Dillinger got to look better than the average Samoa Joe victim of the week. Joe cut him off and hit kind of a reverse piledriver where he drove Dillinger knee-first into the mat. Dillinger battled back with some slaps, but got dropped with Joe’s twisting powerslam as he came off the ropes.

The crowd suddenly woke up 10 minutes in (ironically), trying to will their countryman to victory. Dillinger made his comeback and went for the Tye Breaker, but took a German suplex on his head. Dillinger did get a near fall for a two count with a superkick.

Dillinger tried again for the Tye Breaker, but Joe again got out of it. Joe dropped Dillinger with the corner uranage and followed it with the powerbomb/Boston Crab/STF combo, but instead of an STF he used a crossface, but not for long as we got the Coquina Clutch.

Dillinger fought for the ropes, but he succumbed and passed out to the pain, giving Joe the victory.

That does it for this week. Can Shinsuke Nakamura capture the NXT Championship this Saturday or will the reign of Joe continue? Until next Wednesday, remember to say your vitamins and take your prayers!

NXT Tampa, FL, live results: Nakamura teams with Alexander & Dillinger

Image: JJ Williams

– Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss defeated Kenneth Crawford & Angelo Dawkins

Sabbatelli and Moss used their new finisher, which is Moss setting up a Gory Bomb and Sabbatelli hitting a clothesline off the ropes on the way down, to pick up the win. The finisher looked great.

– Oney Lorcan defeated Austin Aries

The match was worked around headlocks, and Lorcan won with a violent one similar to Brian Kendrick’s submission.

– Elias Samson tried to cut a promo but was interrupted by TM61. The Drifter ended up trying to cheap shot them, but they bounced him around before he ran out of there. Shane Thorne then played their theme on the air guitar while wearing The Drifter’s scarf.

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Daria Berenato tor retain her title

Berenato tapped out to the Asuka Lock.

– NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, Cedric Alexander & Tye Dillinger defeated Samoa Joe, Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake

NXT Fort Pierce, FL, live results: Dillinger vs. Roode; Tian Bing in action

NXT was in Ft. Pierce in what was a makeup show due to Hurricane Matthew. There were an estimated 350 in attendance.

– Patrick Clark defeated Tian Bing

This was the NXT singles debut of Tian Bing, the former Bin Wang, who is billed as 6’3″ 220 lbs from China. Bing made his NXT debut at a recent house show in a battle royal, and made his TV debut in this week’s tapings in the Dusty Classic teaming with HoHo Lun.

Patrick Clark of Tough Enough fame has taken to a persona based on the late musician Prince, with a sparkling headband and frilly white shirt. The bizarre Clark was able to steal the win with his feet on the ropes.

– Peyton Royce & Billie Kay defeated Liv Morgan & Aliyah

Kay was able to cause a distraction that allowed Royce to score the pin on Morgan

– Dallas Harper defeated Steve Cutler

The 6’9″ Harper was able to slam Cutler from way up there for the win

– SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton) w/ Nikki Cross defeated Tucker Knight & Otis

Cross sprayed Otis in the eyes with a can of something to cause the distraction. Knight and Otis were able to fend off the beat down after the match, and even threw Nikki Cross on to Fulton and Wolfe over the top rope to send them packing

– Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose

Top rope diving stunner by Moon for the win

– Elias Samson cut a promo but was interrupted by Asuka, who Samson tried to imply has eyes for him. Asuka actually broke his guitar after Samson tried to lay a kiss on her.

– Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss defeated Angelo Dawkins & Kenneth Crawford

– Tye Dillinger defeated Boddy Roode

Dillinger hit the Tye Breaker for the win to send everyone home happy.

NXT Orlando, FL, live results: No Way Shinsuke team with the Perfect 10

I’m here at the new Orlando NXT live event venue, with an estimated crowd of 450.

– Dan Matha won a 15-man battle royal

Oney Lorcan, Tino Sabbatelli, Tucker Night, Niko Bogojevic, Dan Matha, Kenneth Crawford, Gabriel Ealy, Uriel Ealy, Angelo Dawkins, Patrick Clark, Bin Wang, Adrian Jaoude, Brennan Williams, Dallas Harper, and Babatunde Aiyegbusi were in the match.

– Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Lince Dorado

Fast paced match until Almas suckered Dorado in with a handshake before jumping him. Almas punished him and finally won with his leg sweep DDT.

– Daria Berenato defeated Mandy Rose

Rose was no match for Berenato in this one. Berenato won with a shining wizard.

– Riddick Moss defeated Cedric Alexander

Very good match, crowd was all over Moss and were into Alexander. Alexander hit a big dive to the outside, and he had control until Moss stole the win with a roll-up. Moss kept stomping a mudhole in Alexander after the match until he fought back and hit a lumbar check to send Moss packing.

– Hideo Itami defeated Beautiful Blonde Blake

A lot of taunting by Blake and he even blew a kiss. Itami was having none of it and won it with a GTS. Female referee Nikkan Lee worked this match.

– Sanity (Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton) w/ Nikki Cross defeated TM61

Nikki Cross was going ballistic at ringside as per usual. The heel team put a hurting on the quicker TM61. Thorne and Miller got a few hope spots, but Fulton and Wolfe hit their double team overhead side slam for the win

– NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Billie Kay w/ Peyton Royce

Nikkan Lee also refereed this match. Kay used an early distraction to keep control of this one before Asuka was able to run wild, knock Royce off the apron, and apply the Asuka Lock for the win

– NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, No Way Jose & Tye Dillinger defeated Buddy Murphy & The Authors Of Pain

All types of comedy spots in this match. Nakamura kicked Murphy in the mid section, then did the cross arm swaggy taunt. He kicked Murphy again near the ropes, which doubled Murphy down to the YeaOh position so Nakamura ran to the opposite side of the ring and did a YeaOh of his own.

The Authors kept control of Jose when they were involved in the match to build up the hot tag. Shinsuke ran wild and hit the Kinshasa for the win.

NXT Largo, FL, live results: Shinsuke Nakamura teams with Asuka & Tye Dillinger

I’m here in Largo, FL, for NXT Live with an expected crowd of 300.

– Richard Swann defeated Patrick Clark

Crowd loved Swann and was all over Clark. Good match that Swann won with an amazing handspring splash in the center of the ring.

– Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton defeated Angelo Dawkins & Kenneth Crawford

The larger heels put a beating on Crawford until Dawkins could make a hot tag, however they were just too much for him in the end. Fulton and Wolfe used a double team slam for the win.

– Oney Lorcan defeated Dallas Harper

Vicious chops and slaps by Lorcan, working over the 6’9″ Harper with uppercuts and intense action. Harper tried to slow the pace and work an arm, then tried to jump from the second rope, but Lorcan hit him with an uppercut and scored the pin.

– The Authors of Pain defeated Niko Bogojevic & Tucker Knight

Long match with the Authors laying it in on Knight until Bogojevic got the hot tag and ran wild, but the Authors cut him off and hit a big double team lariat for the finish.

– Hideo Itami defeated Buddy Murphy

Murphy teased a GTS early, so Itami went for one of his own and said “this close.” Later in the match, Murphy actually got Itami up for the GTS, but it was reversed into a dragon screw leg whip. Itami then finished it off with the GTS.

– Mandy Rose defeated Liv Morgan

Good match with athletic action early. Morgan applied a straight jacket submission of sorts before Rose escaped and applied an octopus type hold of her own. Morgan went for her high kick, but Rose was able to catch her and apply a double underhook into a front angel wings slam for the win.

Rose cut a promo after the match about being the golden gift of NXT until Daria Berenato interrupted, her big line was calling Rose “All Gold Everything” as a setup so Rose could say that she can actually wrestle, which got a rise from the crowd.

– Tino Sabbatelli defeated Kishan Raftar

Athletic rope running early that resulted in an impressive crossbody by Sabbatelli. Raftar took advantage and worked a headlock before Sabbatelli got fired up and hit a spinning elbow on Raftar for the win.

– NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka, & Tye Dillinger defeated Wesley Blake, Riddick Moss, & Billie Kay

This match had all types of action and comedy. There were “10” chants, Asuka dancing, and Nakamura swagging out. The heels worked over Dillinger for most of the match. Asuka got the tag and ran wild on Kay, then Nakamura tagged in and had Blake ready to receive a Kinshasa until Kay ran in between them.

Asuka cut her off, then laid in a spin kick of her own on Blake before Nakamura hit the Kinshasa for the win. The winners celebrated and did three YeaOh taunts to end the show.

WWE NXT results: More matches from Brooklyn

The Big News: The Authors of Pain were given names!

The Medium News: If you watched NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, you could literally fast forward through 35 minutes of this show

The Little Beaver-sized News: Tye Dillinger won a match.

Tye Dillinger defeated Wesley Blake

Literally no one in the crowd cared about Wesley Blake’s entrance. Seriously, you have never seen so many people not make noise for someone. As soon as Blake stopped slowly walking to the ring, the crowd exploded in “10” chants.

Not sure if the crowd loves Dillinger as much as they love to chant. This match was long and not exciting at all. Dillinger won with the Tye-breaker, which starts as an Attitude Adjustment, but he drops his opponent’s head on his knee.

The Authors of Pain defeated TM61

We are on day 77 of The Authors of Pain era in NXT. And finally, after 11 weeks, they were given names midway through the match! Akam is the tattooed one and Rezer is the one who is not.

They are managed by Paul Ellering, one of the most memorable managers from the 80s. In 77 days, he was allowed to say one sentence into one microphone one time.

Anyway, TM61 were on fire from the start, actually attacking AOP before the bell. Turns out all that did was anger the Authors, as they got the heat on Shane Thorne by pulling him shoulder-first into the ring post.

Thorne and Nick Miller looked better against AOP than any other team so far, including American Alpha. Despite that, The Authors of Pain picked up the win with the combo clothesline/side Russian leg sweep.

That does it for the show. Next week we are back to regular episodes and we start the build to the next TakeOver show! Until then, say your vitamins and take your prayers.
