WWE NXT notes: New faces emerge, Sean Legacy returns, Tavion Heights

The theme of Tuesday’s NXT was new faces.

The start of NXT saw Shawn Michaels, Matt Bloom, and Robert Stone hint that new faces would be making their debut on Tuesday’s show, noting international prospects and those from Evolve and LFG were looking to make a name for themselves. By the end of the night, that became quite apparent.

After Myles Borne defended the NXT North American title against Saquon Shugars, he was interrupted by Tristian Angels, who appeared in the crowd. He identified himself as ‘Mr. England’ and told Borne he would see a lot more of him in NXT. That was when Kam Hendrix, who has appeared on WWE LFG, jumped Borne from behind and laid him out.

EVIL, who wasn’t referred to by that name, also made his debut on Tuesday. After he handed Tony D’Angelo another object with the Japanese symbol of war on it, he walked away. But the segment wasn’t over as Tavion Heights, who hadn’t been seen on television in weeks, suddenly jumped D’Angelo. After Heights was done, an unidentified heavyset man came out and gave D’Angelo a top rope moonsault.

The man was later identified online as Will Kroos, who has previously worked for Progress and has held their Atlas Championship.

One return on Tuesday was Sean Legacy, who was sidelined for the last few weeks with a leg injury. After Birthright showed themselves attacking Dorian Van Dux backstage, EK Prosper came to the ring and went on the attack. He was being taken out when suddenly Legacy ran in for the save. After Prosper & Legacy won their match, the rest of Birthright attacked them until Tate Wilder, who has made a few appearances on NXT television, came out to make the save.

The night ended with Michaels, Bloom, and Stone talking about the events of the show when D’Angelo walked in. He told Michaels that they got a one up on him tonight, but he was ready for the chaos.

“Let’s f****** go!” he declared as the show went off the air.

New match added to next WWE NXT

A new match has been added to Tuesday’s NXT.

During NXT Vengeance Day, Charlie Dempsey turned down the offer to join Lexis Kings’ new stable. King asked Demspey to change his mind, noting that their fathers William Regal and Brian Pillman were former champions and paved the way for them to be a success. Tavion Heights cut off King and after some back and forth, King’s stable left. Heights then suggested to Dempsey they reunite the No Quarter Catch Crew for one night in order to take out King’s group. It was later announced that the two would take on King and Uriah Connors.

Throughout the last few weeks King, Stacks, and Arianna Grace have formed a stable and recently recruited Connors, who turned against Andre Chase and Kale Dixon.

Already announced for Tuesday is a three-way match between Jasper Troy, Sean Legacy, and Eli Knight. The women’s Speed finals will also take place between Wren Sinclair and Thea Hail.

WWE NXT (March 10)

  • Women’s Speed tournament finals: Wren Sinclair vs. Thea Hail
  • Tavion Heights & Charlie Dempsey vs. Lexis King & Uriah Connors
  • Jasper Troy vs. Eli Knight vs. Sean Legacy

New number one contender for men’s WWE Speed Championship crowned

A new number one contender for the men’s Speed Championship has been set.

Tavion Heights quickly took care of Lexis King on Tuesday’s show, pinning him in eight seconds after a belly-to-belly suplex. With the quick win, Heights will now move on to face Jasper Troy for the men’s Speed Championship, though a date has yet to be determined. After Heights’ quick victory, Troy appeared near the ramp as the two had a staredown.

Troy has been champion since November 11, defeating then-champion El Grande Americano. A mini-tournament took place starting last week where King defeated Andre Chase in one semifinal match while Tavion Heights defeated EVOLVE standout Eli Knight in another.

The Women’s Speed Championship was also decided recently after Sol Ruca chose to vacate the championship due to a storyline injury. Fallon Henley defeated Zaria late last month to become the new champion.

Next week’s NXT will be New Year’s Evil, the first CW special of 2026. Top matches involve Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against TNA star Leon Slater and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defending against EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kendal Grey.

New addition revealed for WWE NXT lineup

In a first time ever singles bout, Tavion Heights will battle Josh Briggs on this Tuesday’s WWE NXT show.

The two have had several run-ins in past weeks leading to the match. The two have competed against each other in tag team matches and battle royals previously.

Briggs is looking to rebound off a defeat to El Grande Americano this past Tuesday while Heights fell in defeat to Myles Borne on the October 28 broadcast.

The addition joins a lineup that includes a Last Man Standing match between Ricky Saints and Trick Williams for the NXT title, El Grande Americano defending the men’s Speed title, the continuation of the women’s Speed title tournament, and more.

Current WWE NXT lineup for Tuesday, November 11:

  • NXT Champion Ricky Saints defends against Trick Williams in a Last Man Standing match
  • WWE Speed Men’s Champion El Grande Americano defends against Jasper Troy
  • WWE Speed Women’s tournament: Fallon Henley vs. Skylar Raye
  • Tavion Heights vs. Josh Briggs
  • NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley and The Culling appear
  • NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe interview

WWE NXT live results: The fallout from Battleground

New TNA World Champion Trick Williams is set to appear as the fallout from Battleground takes place on WWE NXT tonight.

Williams made history on Sunday, becoming the first WWE-contracted wrestler to win the TNA World Championship. With help from a well-placed belt shot, he defeated Joe Hendry to become champion. We’ll hear from Williams tonight for the first time since his victory.

Mike Santana has declared that he wants to be the savior of TNA and is coming after Williams’ title. Tonight, Santana makes his WWE debut against Tavion Heights. The match was set up at Battleground in a confrontation between Santana and No Quarter Catch Crew.

A couple of title matches are also part of tonight’s lineup. After successfully defending against Jordynne Grace at Battleground, Stephanie Vaquer already has her next challenger. She’s putting the title on the line against Jacy Jayne after Jayne slapped her in the face on Sunday.

Ricky Saints vs. Ethan Page for the North American Championship is kicking off the episode. The winner will defend the title at Worlds Collide against a yet-to-be-announced opponent.

Plus, WWE LFG winner Jasper Troy will be in action, Tatum Paxley faces Jaida Parker, and more.

Our live coverage starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

Opening the show is a title match and horde of security at ringside. NXT North American Champ Ricky Saints enters the sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. After him is his challenger, Ethan Page. They brawl before Mike Rowe can finish the ring introductions, and the security team rushes into the ring to break them up.

With a pull-apart brawl ongoing in the ring, Rowe does an abbreviated introduction before the bell sounds to officially start the title bout. The winner defends the title at When World Collide.

Ethan Page defeated NXT North American Champion Ricky Saints to win the title

Page pinned Saints to win the championship in a really good opener. Since neither of these wrestlers had a match on the PLE last weekend, this was essentially their PLE match in they had plenty of time and high drama. They wrestled through a picture-in-picture commercial break.

The fight spilled onto ringside, where Page went to grab a metal folding chair. Members of the security team spots him from using the chair. The horde of security then holds back back Saints and Page from brawling at ringside. Is brawling at ringside suddenly banned?

Out comes NXT General Manager Ava to sort out this mess. Instead, she gives a message to the announce team. Ava then leaves ringside, and the announcers are even more confused than before. The referee does his best Big John McCarthy, and the fight resumes at ringside as security steps aside.

When the show returns from the commercial break, the fighting at ringside continues with Saints and Page brawling over the announce desk. Security breaks them apart and the ref yells at them to get back into the ring. With some separation between them, Page strikes with a Diamond Cutter on the floor. In taking the move, Saints comes crashing down on a folding chair. Saints sells big while clutching his throat, but he manages to crawl back into the ring and take a Razor’s Edge. Saints still somehow kicks out.

Still selling his throat, Saints valiantly fights back as the babyface in peril. Saints gets a near fall on Page, while still selling his throat. The live studio audience begins a “Ricky” chant when Saints eats a boot from Page. The match rolls on and Page counters Saint’s finisher. In doing so, Page maneuvers over to the ropes , where Page snaps Saints injured throat on the top rope. Page follows up with a Diamond Cutter. Page the hooks a leg and covers Saints for a three count. And new…

Referees and officials check on an injured Saints in the ring, while Page poses with the North American title belt on the ramp.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Fatal Influence, and the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Jacy Jayne cuts a promo on Fallon Henley. Jazmyn Nyx looks on behind Jayne.

Mike Santana is the focus of a personality profile introducing him to the NXT audience ahead of his upcoming match.

Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura are back together again, and Briggs returns Inamura’s leather vest to him. Briggs suggest they set their sights on the NXT tag team titles, or Inamura suggest something “even bigger” for them.

Mike Santana defeated Tavion Heights (with No Quarter Catch Crew)

Santana pinned Heights after a roaring lariat. The bout itself goes through a commercial break, and they had a pretty good match. In Height’s corner was Charlie Dempsey, Wren Sinclair and Myles Born, but they played little into the match. Dempsey looked strong in winning, and he shakes hands with Heights after the match. Dempsey was disgusted by the display of sportsmanship from Heights.

The trio now known as High Ryze is the focus of a video package. That trio includes Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe.

Up next is the aftermath from the fallout between Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. For that we get some bad acting when Luca Crusifino sits down with D’Angelo. Crusifino professes his innocence to “The Don”, but D’Angelo says he cannot trust anyone. Crusifino insists D’Angelo can trust him.

New TNA Champion Trick Williams is heading to the ring for a celebratory monologue. Trick is victorious and boastful, but he heels on the studio audience when they try cheering for him. Tricks mocks them by asking if they feel stupid for singing along with “Average Joe” on the previous episode of NXT.

Trick boasts about himself and the title win, and Trick lists luminaries that were champions of TNA. Trick then says he is better than all of them. Trick heels on the crowd from turning their back on him, so he is going to TNA. Trick wants to change the name of TNA to “Trick-N-A”.

Santana interrupts Trick and confronts him in the ring. Santana is there to take up for TNA, and Santana takes exception to Trick trying to tear it down. Trick yells at Santana in response, basically telling Santana to know his place. Santana proceeds to cut a promo on Trick, and Santana calls Trick a “pretender” as a wrestler, a rapper and a champion.

Santana vows to take the TNA title from Trick. They are interrupted by TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, who appears on a video screen. Marella informs Trick that he will indeed be a fighting champion. Trick is booked to defend the TNA title next Tuesday on NXT against Santana.

Santana rocks Trick with punches, and Santana sends Trick packing. Santana then poses with the TNA title belt.

In a locker room skit, Ava informs NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer that she is booked in a tag match at When Worlds Collide, and Ava instructs Vaquer to find a tag partner. Vaquer agrees, but first she has a title match tonight. Lola Vice enters the scene offering to team with Vaquer.

Jaida Parker defeated Tatum Paxley

Parker pinned Paxley after a hip attack. This match was set up with a skit last week that also involved Thea Hail, who runs in after this match to attack Parker.

Setting up the finish, Parker threw on of Paxley’s dolls into the ring. Paxley brought the dolls to ringside before the match. Parker threw the red haired doll (probably symbolizing Gigi Dolan) into the ring. Paxley retrieves the doll. Parker then ambushes Paxley with the Hip-notic finisher, and Parker covers Paxley for a three count. Hail jumps Parker after the match, so they are clearing headed for a singles match between them.

Featured in a hype video is Jasper Troy, whose debut match on NXT television is up next..

Jasper Troy defeated Dante Chen

Troy pinned Chen in a glorified enhancement match. Chen did get a burst of offense just before the end, but Troy wiped out Chen. Tory then delivers a Black Hole Slam, and Troy scores a pinfall.

NXT Champion Oba Femi then gets Troy’s attention, with Femi perched on a stand overlooking the ring. Femi says he could have jumped Troy like Troy did to Femi last week, but Femi does tell Troy to enjoy his five seconds of fame because those five seconds are over now that Troy is in Femi’s sights.

Charlie Dempsey wants Myles Borne and Tavion Heights to pull back and focus on the group. Borne takes exception and says he is not going back. They agree to match with Borne against Dempsey. If Borne wins he can leave No Quarter Catch Crew. Why not just leave the group? He is an independent contractor after all. Oh wait… never mind. Must not be that kind of independent contractor.

New NXT North American Champion Ethan Page is the ring to celebrate his title win earlier in the show. After a hard fought win, Page appears with a scratch on him. He was not even selling the match at all.

Out comes Je’Von Evans to interrupt Page, because almost no monologue in NXT can go uninterrupted. Anyway, Evans announces that Page will defend the North American title against Evans at When World Collide, but that is not all.

Evans then introduces Laredo Kid, and he enters through the crowd. Laredo Kid says he is the most complete luchadore you will ever see. Kid is apparently added to the title match, but that is not all.

Out comes Rey Fenix, who cuts a promo on Page as he announces a fatal four-way match for the title at When Worlds Collide. It is Page defending against Evans, Laredo Kid and Femix. The winner then on a later date faces Sean Legacy, who won a number one contenders match last Tuesday.

NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca and her pal Zaria offers some kind words to Tatum Paxley in a backstage skit. Meanwhile, looking on is The Culling faction.

Jacy Jayne (with Fatal Influence) defeated NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer to win the title

Jayne pinned Vaquer thanks in part in outside interference from Fallon Henley. They teased more dissension within Fatal Influence, but ultimately it was Henley that helps Jayne win the title. The title change was quite a surprise.

Let in the match, Henley jumps on the apron to cause a distraction. This was similar to a spot Jayne did in Henley’s loss last week on the previous episode. Much like last Tuesday, it backfires on Fatal Influence. Jayne collides with Henley, and Jayne is then superkicked out of the ring. At ringside, Henley and Jayne argue. Jazmyn Nyz tries to keep the peace, but to no avail. Both Henley and Jayne shove Nyz aside as Vaquer leaps off the top rope with a high cross.

Back in the ring, Vaquer counters Jayne. Vaquer then does her signature head scissors spot much to admiration of Booker T on commentary. Vaquer then catches Jayne in a tarantula armbar. Henley swings around the ring post with Tiger Feint Kick to break up the armbar. Jayne then hits Vaquer with a roaring elbow, and Jayne covers the champion for a three count. Disbelief abounds on the title change. Even Mike Rome is in shock as he announces the winner. And new…

Mike Santana appears at Battleground, set for WWE NXT debut

TNA star Mike Santana will be making his WWE in-ring debut on NXT this Tuesday night.

Santana was interviewed backstage during the NXT Battleground broadcast, saying he’s coming after the TNA World Championship and is at tonight’s show to watch the Joe Hendry vs. Trick Williams title match. He was interrupted by No Quarter Catch Crew, with Charlie Dempsey saying he’s sick and tired of there being too many outsiders in NXT. Things were getting tense between Santana and Dempsey, but Tavion Heights took a more respectful approach in saying he wants an opportunity to face Santana on NXT this Tuesday night. Santana shook hands with Heights and accepted the challenge.

This will be Santana’s first time ever competing in a WWE ring. He joined TNA in 2024 after departing AEW.

“It’s taken me 16 years to finally walk through the doors here at the WWE, so to say I’m having a hell of a time is a definite understatement. But listen, I’ve made it very clear that I’m coming after the TNA World title. So I’m here to watch Joe and Trick throw hands against each other,” Santana said.

“And to the WWE Universe that don’t know who I am, I’m a loud and proud Boricua from the Bronx, New York, baby. I don’t mix words and keeping it [100] has been engrained in me since day one. So I’m going to keep it plain and simple for you. I’m here because I want the winner of tonight’s match. I want who’s walking out TNA World Champion.”

Lucha Libre AAA was also represented at Battleground with Dalys and Chik Tormenta, two members of the AAA women’s division, briefly meeting with NXT general manager Ava. We’re now less than two weeks away from Worlds Collide, which is the biggest AAA event since it was announced that the promotion is being acquired by WWE. Worlds Collide is taking place in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 7 and will feature wrestlers from WWE, NXT, and AAA.

Dalys and Chik Tormenta were shown again later in the night during a confrontation with NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer backstage:

Tavion Heights vs. Royce Isaacs added to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII

Another member of the No Quarter Catch Crew will be wrestling at Bloodsport.

On Friday, Josh Barnett  posted a video featuring Tavion Heights announcing that he will be taking on Royce Issacs at Bloodsport XIII. Heights questioned if Issacs was ‘man enough’ to fight him.

Earlier in the day, Issacs had posted a video asking Heights if he “had the minerals” to step up to him. After he got his response, Issacs responded on social media.

“Official. I asked for it. I got it. Nothing left but to win the damn thing,” he wrote.

Charlie Dempsey, who was also seen in the video, has already been announced as facing former Pride fighter Shinya Aoki. Earlier in the day, it was announced that Shayna Baszler would be facing Konami.

Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII (Thursday, April 17) —

  • Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Jonathan Gresham
  • Karrion Kross vs. JR Kratos
  • Shayna Baszler vs. Konami
  • Natalya vs. Miyu Yamashita
  • Pete Dunne vs. Timothy Thatcher
  • Leyla Hirsch vs. Jordan Blade
  • Charlie Dempsey vs. Shinya Aoki
  • Karmen Petrovic vs. Maika
  • Tavion Heights vs. Royce Issacs

Dragon Lee advances in WWE Speed tournament

Dragon Lee is advancing to the next round of the WWE Speed number one contender’s tournament.

The ongoing tournament to decide Andrade’s next challenger continued today with Dragon Lee defeating NXT wrestler Tavion Heights to advance to the next round. In the final minute of the match, Lee connected with a double stomp off the top rope, a dropkick into the corner, and Operation Dragon. He pinned Heights with 20 seconds remaining of the three-minute time limit.

Lee, Sheamus, and Bron Breakker have secured their places in the second round of the tournament. Joining them in the final four will be either Akira Tozawa or NXT’s Riley Osborne. That match is premiering on X/Twitter this Friday at noon Eastern time. The winner will face Lee in the next round.

The second round will presumably begin with Sheamus vs. Breakker airing on Speed next Wednesday.

Andrade has been WWE Speed Champion since June and has made successful title defenses against Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Pete Dunne.

WWE shared a post-match promo from Heights following his loss to Lee. Heights is a former Olympic wrestler who, in addition to competing in NXT, has gotten some experience in Pro Wrestling NOAH and TNA Wrestling this year through WWE’s partnerships with those promotions.

WWE Main Event results: Apollo Crews vs. Julius Creed

This week’s WWE Main Event was taped at the Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas before Monday’s episode of Raw.

The match at the top of show was hands down one of the best matches on Main Event in a while. Julius Creed and Apollo Crews could do this every week and live crowds would certainly be happy.

Dante Chen defeated Tavion Heights (5:50)

This was a straightforward and basic match and both looked fine in only their second appearance on Main Event.

They did some chain wrestling in the early going and then Chen started to attack and work over Heights’ left arm. The slower pace didn’t do much to rouse the crowd at this point and so they traded a few pinfalls.

Heights made a comeback, using the turnbuckles and then a belly-to-belly and a what I guess you would say was a sling blade. It was quite reminiscent of Finn Balor. He then used a running powerslam for a near fall which got the crowd more invested.

Chen seemed to be summoning energy with his hands – looking a little like Asuka – before using a double chop/clothesline to get the win.

It’s a pretty weak-looking finisher and didn’t really play into the work he’d done on Heights’ arm. I’m also not sure about the facepaint, but that could just be me.

Julius Creed (w/ Brutus Creed) defeated Apollo Crews (6:13)

This was a strong match to top the show. Crews’ winning streak since retuning from his injury came to an end, so good for Julius Creed who looks really impressive. Worth catching this one if you can.

The first couple of minutes were quite explosive. For big men, neither really moves or carries themselves like one.

After sending Crews to the apron, Creed hit him with a beautiful moonsault and we went to the break.

After the ads, Crews had Creed in a side headlock and Brutus was beating the mat from the outside to encourage his brother. Creed not only worked his way out, but did so by hoisting Crews into a suplex from his knees, standing up as he hit the move. That’s really not something you see every day.

The finish was excellent. They did a superplex, which the crowd absolutely loved, and after getting to their feet, Creed picked Crews up from a roll up pin into a power bomb. When Crews then slid out of it, Creed sat down and hooked his legs to get the win.

The strength on display here was, at times, next level impressive. Creed is a serious talent.

WWE Main Event results: Apollo Crews vs. Tavion Heights

This week’s WWE Main Event was taped at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC before Monday’s episode of Raw.

Despite some fresh faces, the work in the ring never really dazzled and so the show was a bit of a damp squib.

Katana Chance defeated Tatum Paxley (4:48)

This was quite a tepid offering from the pair, that didn’t get going, but Chance is a good babyface with a lot of crowd-pulling potential.

Tatum Paxley is an NXT Level Up performer who has been in and around the show since the summer of last year. While she and Chance have worked together before, they haven’t done a singles match.

They laid out a basic match with Paxley taking advantage early of a slip-up so that she could work over Chance’s left arm.

After a few near falls, Paxley had a slip-up of her own where she walked into Chance’s boot. And that was pretty much it.

Chance hit a Sister Abigail-type flatliner move and got her hand raised to keep her Main Event record at 4-1, for those keeping score.

Apollo Crews defeated Tavion Heights (7:36)

A better bout than the opener, but Crews is still coming back from injury and Heights is still pretty green.

Heights made his Main Event debut here and certainly has a good look. His name, however, is pretty lame. He’s an Olympic wrestler so I would say his real name G’angelo Hancock is a lot cooler, but what do I know?

Crews is certainly a good person to debut against because he’s a guy who doesn’t get involved in too many bad matches and who knows his way around the ring.

As you might expect, there was a lot of mat work in the early going. After some grappling, Heights gave Crews a big boot to send him outside and we went to the break.

After the ads, Heights was getting some serious heat. People were booing him as he locked in a rest hold and stomped and beat down Crews. Heights dodged a charge and used a scoop slam for a near fall.

The finish was very ordinary: Crews used a boot to plant Heights and then he hit a top rope frog splash to get the win.

Former Olympian to debut on WWE NXT Level Up

Tavion Heights is set to make his WWE debut on NXT Level Up.

Real name G’Angelo Hancock, the 25-year-old competed in the Men’s Greco-Roman 97 kilograms competition at the 2020 Olympics. He defeated Mikheil Kajaia of Serbia in his first match before being eliminated in his next contest after a loss to Tadeusz Michalik of Poland. He won the Gold medal at the 2020 Pan American Championships, bronze at the 2019 Pan American Games, and bronze at the 2021 World Championships in the same category.

WWE announced on Thursday that Hancock will wrestle under the name Tavion Heights and face Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo on NXT Level Up this week. The match was taped on Tuesday from the WWE Performance Center.

Heights took part in WWE’s tryouts in Dallas over WrestleMania week earlier this year. He was later confirmed as one of 17 recruits to begin training at the Performance Center in August.

“Heights, a former Olympian will make his WWE debut and bring his Greco-Roman style to the squared circle against the hard-hitting Lorenzo,” reads WWE.com.

WWE NXT Level Up airs Friday on the WWE Network and Peacock beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern time. The full lineup for the show is as follows:

  • Thea Hail vs. Sol Ruca
  • Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo vs. Tavion Heights
