Brock Lesnar, Stephanie McMahon to appear on WWE Raw next week

WWE has made a few announcements for next week’s episode of Raw.

New Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be appearing on the episode. It will be the first time he’s been on WWE television since winning the Universal title at Crown Jewel.

Lesnar won the title by defeating Braun Strowman in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The story for the match was Baron Corbin hitting Strowman with the title belt before the bell rang, Strowman kicking out of three F5s, Lesnar throwing Strowman over the ropes on an F5, and Lesnar finally pinning Strowman with his fifth F5.

Lesnar vs. WWE Champion AJ Styles in a non-title champion vs. champion match is set for Survivor Series later this month.

As the build to Survivor Series continues, Stephanie McMahon will also appear on next Monday’s Raw. She’ll address Shane McMahon winning the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel.

WWE is advertising that Raw’s women’s team for Survivor Series will be revealed next Monday. Alexa Bliss, who is still out of action after suffering a concussion, was announced as the captain for the team tonight. It was noted that Bliss wouldn’t be wrestling in the match.

Next week’s Raw is taking place after WWE’s European tour and is being held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Stephanie McMahon comments on possibility of Women’s tag titles

Going into last night’s announcement from Stephanie McMahon, it was speculated that it would have something to do with WWE introducing Tag Team titles for the women’s division.

They weren’t mentioned during the reveal of WWE’s first all-women’s pay-per-view, but McMahon spoke to Sky Sports about her announcement and was asked if WWE would be adding Women’s Tag Team titles at the PPV.

“Not quite yet but that’s absolutely something we’ve heard loud and clear from our fan base and it’s something we’re keen on implementing as soon as we are able to,” McMahon said.

The women’s PPV will be called “Evolution” and will be held at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York on October 28. Titles from all of WWE’s brands will be on the line, the Mae Young Classic finals will take place, and WWE is hyping that over 50 wrestlers from the past and present will take part in the show.

WWE Raw live results: Reigns vs. Lashley, Stephanie’s announcement

Date: July 23, 2018
Location: U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, OH

The Big Takeaway —

Roman Reigns beat Bobby Lashley clean and will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at SummerSlam. Lesnar is advertised for next week’s show. (It may not come up next week with Lesnar on the show, but Braun Strowman must defend his MITB contract at SummerSlam against Kevin Owens.)

The story of the show was Stephanie McMahon’s announcement of an all-women’s pay per view in October. They talked about it throughout the show and it was probably brought up in every segment until the main event.

There were three women’s matches on tonight’s show, averaging 2 minutes and 49 seconds in length.

Dean Ambrose did not return.

Show Recap —

The entire locker room was on the stage, along with Kurt Angle. 205 Live wrestlers were there too, along with women from Smackdown. Vince McMahon was in the ring and he introduced Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, who got their own entrance. Stephanie shook hands with Angle, Triple H did not.

Triple H thanked the entire roster, everyone from Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT and NXT U.K. He said they can’t be successful alone and said he saw a large bond between this group. He then asked the women to step forward. (Nikki Cross was among them.)

Triple H said the men on the stage support them, and many of them nodded. He said the fans do too and they cheered. He spoke of all the firsts the women have accomplished recently, then became emotional and said he was proud of them.

Stephanie said these things are important because the fans deemed it so, after demanding more for the women. She said the fans started a hashtag and 30-second matches turned into main events.

Stephanie announced that there would be a “first ever” all-women’s pay per view on October 28th called Evolution. The women celebrated on the stage as everyone else applauded. Michael Cole said the event would take place at Nassau Coliseum in New York and would feature Raw, Smackdown, and NXT women’s title matches, as well as the finals for the Mae Young Classic.

Backstage, Curtis Axel told Bo Dallas how excited he was about the women’s PPV. Dallas spoke about how far the two of them have come and now they get to defend their titles on Raw. Axel agreed they used to be rotten. They said the “B” stands for brothers and best. They were about to leave all excited, but then realized they forgot to take the belts with them.

Elias was on the stage for a performance but was interrupted by Matt Hardy’s entrance.

B-Team defeated Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt to retain the Tag Team Championship (8:20)

Hardy and Wyatt were in control and they went to commercial less than two minutes into the match. The Revival were shown watching the match backstage. B-Team worked over Wyatt after a break until he made a hot tag to Hardy, who did a good job getting the crowd into the match.

He ran wild on Axel and hit a side effect for two. He used a Twist of Fate but Dallas broke up the cover. Wyatt went after him, but Dallas ducked. Dallas sorta tossed Wyatt aside, Wyatt fell on Hardy, then Axel applied a cradle on Hardy almost by accident for the pinfall win. So another fluke win for B-Team.

After the match, Hardy and Wyatt applauded for B-Team, then attacked them and took them out with their finishers. This wasn’t treated like a heel turn, just Hardy and Wyatt getting their heat back.

Finn Balor spoke with Chad Gable backstage. He asked Gable why he was in his gear, and Gable said he always stays ready. They talked about Stephanie’s announcement when some guy walked by with Balor’s suitcase. Another guy had his jacket, so Balor stopped him.

The guy said Baron Corbin instructed them to move him into a new locker room. It was a kids playhouse. Corbin showed up and said he deserved it. Balor said he was happy to have his own fun house. Corbin didn’t think that was funny and told Balor to get ready for his match with Drew McIntyre.

Charly Caruso interviewed Sasha Banks and Bayley, who were all smiles. Bayley said they had a long talk and agreed it was their differences that made their friendship strong. Banks said they had the same dream and their dreams keep getting bigger after Stephanie’s announcement. They expressed their admiration for each other and left.

There have been three backstage segments and in every one, the wrestlers have specifically referred to Stephanie’s announcement.

Sasha Banks & Bayley defeated Samantha Simon & Karen Lundy (1:23)

Banks and Bayley beat two jobbers quickly with Banks winning via submission. They hugged afterwards. During the match, Jonathan Coachman tried to make a comment about women being different from men, but before he could continue, Corey Graves spoke all over him.

I neglected to mention it earlier, but they’re pushing that the women’s PPV will feature over 50 women superstars.

Braun Strowman promo

Elias was on the stage again and plugged his album, but he was quickly interrupted again, this time by Braun Strowman. (They plugged Strowman before the break, so Elias should’ve known better.) Strowman put over Stephanie’s announcement and wished good luck to all the women, especially his mixed match partner Alexa Bliss.

He said it didn’t matter if the champion was Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, or Brock Lesnar, sooner or later a monster would come calling. He asked the crowd how he would look as Universal champion and they cheered.

Kevin Owens interrupted. He slowly walked out on the ramp. His arms are taped up. His music got a pop but fans were booing him when he began speaking. He mentioned Strowman throwing him off the cage and people cheered. He couldn’t believe Strowman was just trying to move on to the Universal title.

Owens tried to befriend Strowman before because his son thought maybe he could become tag champs with him like Nicolas did at WrestleMania. He said Strowman crushed his son’s dream, just like he crushed his ribs. Now both his kids are scared to see him walk down the stairs because they see the pain he’s in.

Owens said Strowman tried to take everything from him, now Owens would take everything from Strowman. Strowman dared him to come to the ring. Owens said he won their match at Extreme Rules, so he had nothing to prove. He said Strowman’s problems have just begun, which brought out Corbin.

Corbin said Stephanie has empowered him to deal with this. (Corbin made a short joke about Balor in here and Owens didn’t laugh.) Corbin said there was someone who could deal with Strowman, which brought out Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh.

Mahal said some words and did his little chant. Strowman told him to stop and wanted to demonstrate his own mantra. He told them both to close their eyes, then began a “get these hands” chant. Mahal and Sunil could tell this was bad news but remained in the ring. Strowman booted Mahal and gave Sunil a powerslam.

They showed Tweets from Bliss, Sonya Deville, Nikki & Brie Bella, Charlotte Flair, Ruby Riott and Nia Jax about the announcement.

They plugged Aleister Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT title on Wednesday.

Mickie James (w/Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss) defeated Natalya (3:44)

James took control after a distraction from Bliss, but Natalya came back with a Russian leg sweep, electric chair drop and basement dropkick for two. Bliss yanked Natalya off the apron, so Natalya took her out with a discus clothesline. James then caught Natalya with a superkick for the pinfall win.

They showed pictures of Ronda Rousey (with Travis Browne) and Reigns at the Kid’s Choice Awards, plus Stephanie and Charlotte at the ESPYs. They aired a clip of Reigns accepting the Sports Humanitarian Award from ESPN.

Backstage, Reigns told Caruso that tonight was a night of firsts, and he would beat Lashley for the first time. He admitted Lashley beat him once, but he has a long list of accomplishments over the past five years. He called himself the most decorated superstar of this generation. He would beat Lashley and go to SummerSlam.

Reigns said people can complain about him being crammed down their throats, but they can learn to like it or shut their mouths, because he was going to whoop Lesnar’s ass.

Elias was on the stage again to plug his album but was again interrupted, this time by Authors of Pain.

There’s an amusing new Burger King commercial with Shinsuke Nakamura, Charlotte Flair and Ron Simmons.

Authors of Pain were in the ring and Titus O’Neil cut a promo on them, saying they had a lot to learn. AOP mocked him and wondered what he could teach them, like maybe how to trip and fall over themselves. O’Neil said everyone falls.

Apollo Crews went on with a lame promo, talking about everything O’Neil has taught him, like how to be an asset to the community and a quality person. The crowd was completely silent. Akam suggested O’Neil retire. O’Neil and Crews attacked AOP and tossed them from the ring. O’Neil’s music played as AOP yelled at them from outside the ring. This sucked.

Angle was with Stephanie in the parking lot and was happy to be GM, especially after hearing her announcement. Owens and Corbin showed up, wondering how they should deal with Strowman. Owens suggested another match with Strowman, but this time with the MITB contract on the line.

Angle thought this was a stupid idea, but Stephanie liked it and made it official for SummerSlam. Owens was thrilled and almost hugged her, but she shook his hand instead. Owens then hugged Corbin. Stephanie cleared her throat so Angle would open her limo door for her. He did. She wished them good night and left.

Mojo Rawley defeated Tyler Breeze (2:17)

Rawley won with a sitout Alabama Slam. The crowd chanted “we want Ambrose” during the match. Bobby Roode did an awkward inset promo during the match. He basically called Rawley a keyboard warrior. It sounded like he had more to say but then just stopped.

Ziggler and McIntyre did a selfie promo. Ziggler said they had a strategic plan to take over Raw, and it was working. McIntyre was on his way to becoming Universal champion, but Balor lost in their qualifying match last week. He said he would wipe the ridiculous smile off Balor’s face.

Elias was interrupted again, this time by Balor.

Finn Balor defeated Drew McIntyre (w/Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler) via DQ (7:10)

They went to commercial 80 seconds into the match, but not before Balor crunched McIntyre with a flip dive. McIntyre had control after the break as the crowd chanted for Balor. Balor nailed a forearm but McIntyre didn’t budge, so Balor took him down with a tornado DDT for a two count. Balor missed the Coup de Grace but hit a sling blade.

Balor went up again for the Coup de Grace but Ziggler crotched him for the DQ. They put the boots to Balor until Seth Rollins ran down to make the save. Angle came out and made a tag match. Ziggler and McIntyre tried leaving but Rollins and Balor went after them.

Seth Rollins & Finn Balor defeated IC Champion Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre (11:49)

Coachman said he didn’t think we’d see Balor and Rollins on the same side, then Graves admonished him for not watching Raw lately.

They worked over Balor until he used a Pele Kick on Ziggler and made the hot tag to Rollins. Rollins nailed both opponents with a suicide dive, then launched Ziggler into the barricade. He followed with a springboard clothesline on McIntyre, then used a blockbuster for two.

Rollins hit a superkick but Ziggler broke up the cover. Balor gave Ziggler a sling blade, but Ziggler gave him a superkick. McIntyre then gave Rollins a reverse Alabama Slam for a nearfall. “This is awesome” chants. Rollins sent McIntyre out of the ring with a hurricanrana, then gave Ziggler the curb stomp for the decisive pinfall win. Rollins was the star of this match.

Lashley told Caruso that big matches like tonight were why he came back. He main event WrestleMania and was victorious, whereas Reigns failed in his matches against Lesnar, just like he will tonight. When Lesnar shows up next week, Lashley will look him in the face to show him who he has to fight at SummerSlam. He hoped Lesnar was well-rested, because there was no sleep till Brooklyn.

They showed more Tweets about Stephanie’s announcement, this time by Banks, Bayley, Carmella, Ember Moon, Natalya and Beth Phoenix. Cole confirmed that Phoenix, Lita and Trish Stratus will be on the PPV. They replayed Stephanie’s announcement for at least the second time.

Ember Moon defeated Liv Morgan (3:30)

Moon won with the Eclipse. The match they had a couple of weeks ago was kind of fun. This one was not. (Sarah Logan wasn’t there because she was banned from ringside.)

Backstage, Rollins told Mike Rome he was excited about the women’s PPV and beating Ziggler tonight. He said Angle gave him a title match against Ziggler at SummerSlam.

They aired a long video package for Lashley vs. Reigns.

Elias was on the stage again but was interrupted by Angle, who said he wasn’t there to interrupt him. Angle said the floor was his and asked him to perform a song from his new album. Elias was thrilled and told Angle, “despite what everybody says about you, you’re okay in my book.”

Elias suggested everyone buy two copies of his album, one for themselves and one for the person they become after listening to it. Elias began performing but stopped because he wasn’t feeling the vibe. He realized they were in Cincinnati and mentioned how gross everyone was. Lashley interrupted.

They announced the following for Raw in Miami next week: Rousey returns, Balor faces Corbin, and Rollins faces McIntyre. They also announced the return of Lesnar, which was booed.

Roman Reigns defeated Bobby Lashley to become number one contender for the Universal Championship (18:01)

A minute into the match, the crowd chanted “we want Ambrose.” Lashley gave Reigns a belly-to-belly on the outside and the went to commercial two minutes into this high stakes match.

After the break, Lashley hit a spinebuster for two. Reigns fought out of a submission but Lashley followed with a suplex. Reigns came back later with a leg drop for two. Lashley dodged a superman punch and applied a full nelson. Reigns fought out but Lashley then applied a head and arm submission until Reigns managed to fight out again.

Lashley went shoulder first into the post, then Reigns gave him corner clotheslines. Lashley caught him off the ropes with a powerslam for two. Lashley went for a spear but Roman countered with what looked like a jumping leg lariat (it was probably supposed to be a clothesline or superman punch but he jumped too high).

Reigns suddenly hit a superman punch for a nearfall. They fought on the outside briefly, but Lashley tossed Reigns back in the ring and hit a spear for a nearfall. Lashley went for another spear, but Reigns caught him with a superman punch. Lashley countered the spear, but Reigns bounced off the ropes and hit the spear anyway for the pinfall win.

Reigns wins clean. Lesnar vs. Reigns at SummerSlam.

Afterwards, Lashley shook Reigns’ hand before leaving. They played up how devastated Lashley was as he left.

Stephanie McMahon to make ‘historic announcement’ on WWE Raw

Stephanie McMahon is returning to WWE television to make a “historic announcement” on Monday’s Raw from Cincinnati, Ohio.

WWE announced the news via Twitter today: “BREAKING: Commissioner @StephMcMahon will appear LIVE this Monday on #RAW to deliver a historic announcement!”

McMahon’s most recent history-making announcements were when WWE confirmed the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches for this year. If this were to be in the same vein, it could be about the all-women’s pay-per-view that Pro Wrestling Sheet reported WWE was discussing earlier this month. The report mentioned that the PPV would take place in late September or in October if it happens, which would be after SummerSlam.

McMahon hasn’t appeared on Raw since May. The storyline recently has been that she’s appointed Baron Corbin to be the “Constable of Raw” and work with Kurt Angle.

Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley in a number one contender’s match is also set for Monday’s show, along with Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt getting their rematch for Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas’ Tag Team titles. The winner of Reigns vs. Lashley will challenge for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship at SummerSlam on August 19.

WWE Raw video highlights: Stephanie puts Rousey through a table

Raw’s final build to WrestleMania took place in Atlanta last night.

The show opened with a face-to-face segment with Ronda Rousey, Kurt Angle, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H. Stephanie insulted Rousey and how she handles losses, Rousey promised to rip her arm off on Sunday, and things got physical when Triple H hit Angle with a microphone. Rousey turned her attention to Triple H, which allowed Stephanie to put her through a table.

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ last segment before their Universal Championship match closed the episode. Paul Heyman teased that Lesnar would go to the UFC if he loses in New Orleans, then Reigns came out when Heyman called him Lesnar’s bitch. Reigns thought he put down Lesnar after a brawl, but Lesnar laid him out with one F-5 as the show went off the air.

WWE is also heading into WrestleMania without John Cena vs. The Undertaker having been officially announced. Cena called him out one more time last night but again didn’t get an answer.

WWE Raw live results: The WrestleMania 34 go-home show

The Big Takeaway: Still no Undertaker, so theoretically John Cena doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania after the Raw go-home show. On a night of long promos, Cena did one where again challenged Undertaker to no avail. Cena then said that Undertaker left his hat in the ring last year at WrestleMania, but left his balls at home.

The show opened with Stephanie McMahon and HHH getting heat on Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle, with Stephanie back suplexing Rousey through a table. The final segment, and possibly the final segment of Brock Lesnar’s WWE career, had Roman Reigns land five Superman punches on Lesnar. Reigns posed with the Universal Championship, but Lesnar rose up to give Reigns an F-5. It was a talk-filled show, but Seth Rollins and Finn Balor had another great match, possibly the best on Raw this year.

Show Recap:

Jonathan Coachman was in the ring to preside over the HHH & Stephanie/Angle & Rousey faceoff. There were two tables with two chairs set up with Coachman behind a podium separating them. HHH and Stephanie came out first. Crowd chanted for Rousey after her entrance with Angle. Coachman said the WWE Universe has submitted questions for everyone, but before he could ask the first one, HHH interrupted him and told Angle it was sad that the roar for Rousey would become a deafening silence after Sunday, and it was Angle’s fault. HHH said Angle has intensity, integrity and intelligence when he first came to WWE, and while he understood Angle had intensity and integrity, he couldn’t believe that people thought Angle had intelligence. A prime example was Angle ruining the signing of Rousey by setting her up for a loss on the biggest stage possible, at WrestleMania. HHH asked why would Angle set Rousey up for failure.

Before Angle could answer, Rousey asked HHH why would he so two-faced to sign her with ulterior motives. Stephanie said Rousey was rough around the edges and she didn’t understand the format yet, but they would polish her up after they rebuild her career after they beat her Sunday at WrestleMania. Rousey said she understood the format and wanted an answer. Stephanie said they signed Rousey because Rousey was a huge star. Everyone wanted to see Rousey in the ring. Stephanie said Rousey had an appalling attitude, but they brought Rousey to WWE because it was best for business. Stephanie told Rousey that Angle had already cost Rousey millions of dollars and derailed Rousey millions of dollars, as well as the company. Stephanie said Rousey and Angle both work for her and asked Rousey who the hell does she think she is?

Angle stopped Rousey from answering and said “She’s Ronda Freaking Rousey” to a huge pop and said she was an UFC champion and this Sunday she was going to make Stephanie tap out. Stephanie laughed it off. H*HH asked Angle what makes him so confident of that. HHH said he gets that the UFC built entire divisions for her (well, that’s Mrs. Cyborg) but in this ring, that means absolutely nothing. HHH said Rousey has been dreaming of coming to WWE her whole life, but to Stephanie and him, the WWE is their whole lives. HHH said in this ring, they know the rules and Rousey has no idea what’s going to happen. HHH said it’s a foregone conclusion, Rousey is going to lose.

Coachman stepped in and said the first fan question was to Stephanie and HHH “How important is it for you borth to win this match at WrestleMania 34 and how will it imapct the future for the WWE?” Stephanie said it’s important to show the locker room that’s when there’s an uprising, the Authority will quickly bite the head off the snake. They will make quick decision, they will shut you down and everyone else in the locker room will learn to respect authority.

Coachman’s next question was to Angle and Rousey: “How do you feel about teaming with Rousey at WrestleMania?” Angle said whether it’s a ring, a cage or an octagon, Rousey is the baddest woman on the planet and this Sunday she would prove it by making Stephanie tap out.

Coachman asked for final thoughts. Stephanie told Rousey that Rousey’s first match in the WWE would be a loss to her, and the whole world knows how Rousey handles losses. Rousey asked Stephanie if she is left or right handed. Stephanie said right handed. Rousey said she was just curious because she still wanted Stephanie to sign her checks after she rips off her arm. Crowd actually popped before Rousey could finish the line.

Coachman called for a picture between the two teams but said it wouldn’t get out of hand like the UFC weigh-ins. Then it got out of hand. Angle and HHH got face-to-face. Stephanie and Rousey glared at each other. Stephanie extended her hand. Rousey refused to shake it. Stephanie talked trash and Rousey got in Stephanie’s face. Stephanie started to walk out of the ring, but Rousey stepped in front of her. Angle turned his back and HHH hit Angle from behind with the microphone. Rousey grabbed HHH by the throat, but Stephanie took Rousey and back suplexed her throught the table. Rousey looked up at Stephanie with a great facial expression as Stephanie trashed talked her. HHH and Stephanie rose each other’s hands and left amid a chorus of boos. Rousey was standing up within minutes.

Bayley defeated Sonya DeVille (w/ Mandy Rose and Paige) (9:52)
Bayley kicked out of a Oklahoma Side Roll and pinned Sonya DeVille with a schoolgirl cradle. They had a ragged match with some missed spots early. Bayley got the majority of the offense as they built spots around a side headlock early. The trophy that will be awarded to the winner of the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania was at ringside.

Postmatch, Mandy Rose and DeVille jumped Bayley. Sasha Banks ran down and threw Rose out of the ring. Bayley threw DeVille over the top rope. Banks told Bayley to raise her hand for thanks for saving Bayley. Bayley looked surprised and refused to raise Banks’ hand, saying she didn’t need Banks’ help. Bayley threw a forearm and started throwing punches on Banks from the mount. Then Rose and DeVille ran back in the ring to go after Bayley and Banks and left the former best friends laying.

They played the same package about Asuka detailing her winning streak.

They showed the Miz’s Instagram to highlight Maryse giving birth to the couple’s daughter.

Seth Rollins defeated Finn Balor (22:02)

Miz came out for commentary. He came off like a man about to turn babyface and he talked about how everything changes when you become a father. He said he’s been pooped on, cried on and wet on, but he has the best daughter and he wants to show Monroe Sky Mizanan that he’s the greatest Intercontinental Champion ever. The match spanned through two commercial breaks and the crowd came alive after Rollins hit a tope. Miz started putting the match over big after a near fall by Balor at around the 18:00 mark. They played off the finish from last month where Rollins hit a superplex and tried to roll into a Falcoln Arrow, but Balor turned it into a small package. This time, Rollins kicked out. Rollins hit the Rainmaker Knee, but Balor kicked out. Rollins went for a frog splash, but Balor got his knees up and immediately turned it into a cradle, but Rollins escaped. Crowd chanted “Finn” at this point. Rollins rolled out of the ring and Balor tried the running kick, but Rollins caught his leg. Rollins teased the power bomb into the barricade, which the announcers emphasized destroyed Balor’s shoulder two years ago, but Balor escaped and threw Rollins into the barricade. Balor tried the Coup de Grace, but Rollins rolled away. Rollins hit a superkick to the midsection but missed a Curb Stomp, Balor got the O’Connor roll but Rollins reversed into a schoolboy cradle, then released the cradle to hit the Curb Stomp for the three count. Excellent match.

After another video package profiling Reigns vs Lesnar, Paul Heyman was on his phone saying to someone “I can see it now, the Brocktogan.” Angle walked up and told Heyman he wanted his main event to stay intact. Heyman said he was planning nothing more than to have himself to Lesnar to say his peace with no drama. Angle asked Heyman not to say anything that would endanger Lesnar’s well-being. Heyman just laughed about Reigns possibly endangering Lesnar’s well-being. Heyman said he and his client would take it under consideration.

Sheamus and Cesaro came out. Sheamus said that they don’t care who Strowman’s tag team partner is because as strong as Strowman is, it’s still a tag team match. Cesaro said at some point, Strowman would have to tag in his partner. Sheamus said Strowman will never be part of a real tag team and he will never wear the tag team championships.

Strowman showed up to “These Hands” chants. Strowman said if the Bar was trying to say he doesn’t play well with others, they were right. But management said he had to get a tag team partner, so he has one. Strowman said he was just talking to his partner in the back and he doesn’t appreciate what The Bar was saying about him. Sheamus said if Strowman’s partner was so upset, why doesn’t he come out. Strowman said he will, but only if he gets a match tonight against either Sheamus or Cesaro. Crowd chanted “yes.” Sheamus said he normally disagrees with the people but he wouldn’t pass up that opportunity. Strowman said he would go get him. Strowman walked to the back and said he was a lot like him, just a little different. Strowman’s music played and Strowman came out wearing glasses that looked like Bubba Ray Dudley and a white dress shirt. He claimed he was Braun Strowman’s brother “Brains” and he’s coming down to knock theirs out of their head.

The announcers played dumb for a moment but acknowledged that Strowman has still yet to reveal his tag team partner. The Bar double-teamed Strowman, but he fouht both of them off, clotheslined Sheamus and gave Cesaro a Beal throw. The crowd was flat and seemed let down that Strowman didn’t announce his mystery partner. Cole maintained that Strowman will have to name his partner on Sunday.

Goldust did a promo about Andre the Giant by quoting a line from “The Princess Bride.” Goldust said he was going to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and then HBO will have to make a documentary about him, and no one will ever forget the name of Goldust.

Matt Hardy popped up on the screen and cut a promo on Goldust saying he will be the one to honor the memory of celestial spirit #8 and win the battle royal. Hardy and Goldust are set to wrestle tonight and Hardy said Goldust was set for deletion.

Matt Hardy defeated Goldust (3:12)

Hardy hit the Side Effect for a two count, then tried the Twist of Fate, but Goldust sent him to the ropes for a powerslam. Goldust missed an elbow off the second rope, and Hardy kicked out of Goldust’s schoolboy cradle to get the pin with a Twist of Fate. Hardy walked up to the Andre the Giant Battle Royal Memorial Statue and repeated “procure, procure, procure” while hugging the statue.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James did a promo. Bliss said that Jax has a face made for radio. Bliss laughed with James about how Jax is going to do a sit-down interview with Renee Young tonight and she wondered if Jax was going to start blubbering tonight. Bliss said after she beats Jax at WrestleMania, Jax was going to be blubbering in her blubber.

Cena came out. The crowd was more anti-Cena that any time this WrestleMania season and chanted for “Undertaker” right away. Cena said he hates to say it, but we’re out of time and there’s no answer, so he was wrong. In this case, silence means no Undertaker. No one was buying it. Cena said he wasn’t upset because he did everything he could do to get Undertaker out of retirement. He’s still going into WrestleMania fired up and is going to WrestleMania as a fan. Cena said Cole tried to talk him into entering the Andre the Giant Battle Royal or be Strowman’s tag team partner, but he said he lost in the Royal Rumble, lost in the Elimination Chamber and lost at Fast Lane. He said if he took one of those spots, he would be taking the spot of a WWE Superstar who had earned that opportunity. Cena said he called out Undertaker for a larger than life opportunity for the both of them. He said one year ago today, his life changed when he got engaged to Nikki Bella. Cena said maybe this WrestleMania is a time for a change. Crowd still chanted for Undertaker. Cena said he hopes Undertaker hears them, but he doesn’t think he does. Cena said he’s going to WrestleMania as a fan and he’s proud of it. Crowd booed. Cena called out Rollins, Balor, Daniel Bryan, A.J. Styles (who he called the best in-ring performer he knows) as people he’s looking forward to seeing. He’s proud that WrestleMania falls on the same day of Rusev Day and he’s even proud that he knows what WWE stands for, saluting Elias. He called out the women. Cena wanted to take a second to apologize about the Undertaker, he said he did everything he could on social media to stir up the Undertaker in Cleveland, in Dallas and in Atlanta.

Then Cena stopped and questioned whether the fans in Atlanta really tried to summon the Undertaker. Fans gradually started cheering and Cena acknowledged how lukewarm the reaction was by saying the Atlanta crowd was as hot as a Dallas warm-up. Cena got everyone standing and cheering, but no sign of Undertaker. Crowd chanted for Undertaker some more, but again no sign of him. Cena looked despondent and the crowd booed. Cena said for four straight weeks, the Undertaker hasn’t done a damn thing while the people poured their hearts out for them. Cena said the Undertaker can ignore him, but whe Undertaker ignores him, then Undertaker is a dead man walking. Cena said it’s clear to everyone that Undertaker left his hat in the ring, but he left his balls at home. Crowd actually chanted for Cena after that. Cena’s music played and he walked to the back.

Angle met with Reigns backstage. Angle said he already had one WrestleMania match not happening with Cena vs. Undertaker now “off the card,” so he doesn’t want another one. Angle said Heyman told him that Brock wouldn’t do anything to provoke Reigns and asked Reigns to stay in the back tonight during Lesnar’s interview. Reigns questioned whether Lesnar was even there and why should Angle believe Heyman? Angle confirmed that Lesnar is there. Reigns said he’s staying, but because he has a ton of respect for Angle he’s willing to hear Heyman out. But after last week, the week before that and the last six years of disrespect that Lesnar and Heyman has given him, everyone in the back and every fan, if he hears one bit of disrespect tonight he’s going to confront Lesnar. Reigns told Angle to take his peace treaty back to the pawn show where he hocked his gold medals.

Elias was in the ring for yet another promo. Elias said the last stop on the road to WrestleMania is this dump in Atlanta. He said they should go to a city that actually matters, and after tonight he’s got the performance of a lifetime set for WrestleMania. He asked for everyone to silence their cell phones and shut their mouths, but Rhyno and Heath Slater came out.

Elias defeated Heath Slater (w/ Rhyno) (1:12)

Elias pinned Slater after a knee to the jaw and Drift Away.

Strowman walked in the back when Curt Hawkins approached him. Hawkins was wearing a “Pick Me, Braun” t-shirt. Hawkins said that his brother, Brains, can’t be in the same place at the same time. Hawkins asked Strowman to pick him. Strowman asked what was Hawkins’ win-loss record? Hawkins said it wasn’t great but that’s where Strowman comes in, if Strowman picks him, it would be his big break. Strowman threw  Hawkins through a wall and said “there’s your big break.”

Asuka & Dana Brooke defeated Alexa Bliss & Mickie James via tapout (10:37)

Asuka forced James to tap out with the Asuka lock. Dana Brooke worked most of the match as the crowd chanted for Asuka. James hit her Mick Kick finisher but only got two. Cole emphasized that if Jax lost the tag team match, her undefeated streak is over, and the same goes for Jax/Miz in the Mixed Match Challenge against Bobby Roode and Charlotte tomorrow night.

Postmatch, James and Bliss jumped Asuka. Brooke ran in,  but James and Bliss delivered a double hoist DDT on her. Jax ran out for the save. Jax grabbed Bliss by the hair, but James came up from behind with a forearm to Jax’s back. Jax flipped James on her side and gave her a Samoan Drop as Bliss ran to the exit.

Lesnar and Heyman were on their way to the ring. Angle stopped them and asked where they were going. Heyman vowed they were only going to say positive things about Reigns.

After Lesnar and Heyman got in the ring, a group of wrestlers formed a human wall on the ramp in case Reigns tried to rush out. It included Sheamus, Cesaro, Curtis Axel, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Titus O’Neil, Rhyno, Bo Dallas, Apoolo, Slater and several others. Heyman was distracted by this and told Angle just because Angle has proven to be an ineffective mentor for Rousey, this is the perfect example of overcompensatory behavior. Heyman said Angle doesn’t have control because control is defined by the man who holds the Universal Championship, Brock Lesnar. Heyman said it’s true, it’s true. Heyman swore to tell the truth and nothing but the truth so help him God. The truth is before the last WrestleMania that took place in New Orleans, he stood in this ring and vowed that Lesnar would conquer Undertaker’s undefeated streak. Heyman said it wasn’t a prediction, it was a spoiler, which meant it was the truth. And then Lesnar defeated the Undertaker, and no one laughed at them then. They laughed at each and every one of the fans who doubted them. Heyman said in six days and the only two beings on the face of the planet who hold a WrestleMania win over the Undertaker will meet. Heyman said everyone acts like its fate for Reigns to dethrone Lesnar and you can’t help but be impressed by Reigns. Heyman said you have to respect Reigns, but the truth is this Sunday, Lesnar will F-5 Reigns and pin him in the center of the ring 1-2-3. That’s not a prediction, that’s a spoiler. It’s the truth. Now, an unfortunate truth in life is that there are accidents in life, and should Lesnar lose on Sunday, this will be the last time you will see him and Lesnar on Raw. Crowd cheered.

Heyman will say his goodbyes on social media, but since Lesnar will be saying hello to everyone from UFC, Heyman wanted to dispel something that was out of character for Lesnar. Heyman said the image that he’s built around Lesnar since 2012 that he looks around the locker room and thinks “none of you can shine my boots.” The mystique that Lesnar looks at the fans and thinks he’s worthy of contempt and disdain and disgust. That Lesnar chooses who he fights only on his own merit and on his terms. He said that image is 100% true. Heyman said it’s understated, because Lesnar feels there’s not one member of that locker room that can hold his jock, much less take his title. Heyman said Reigns’ only choice is to accept defeat on Sunday night, because it’s easy to make choices when you have no options. Heyman said Reigns’ choices is like his ass, they’re both owned by Lesnar. Heyman said if Reigns thinks he’s going to have a victory party, he’s going to go up to his wife, his kids, his father and his uncles and say he got conquered by Lesnar. Heyman said Reigns ain’t no Big Dog, this ain’t no yard and he’s going to be another notch on Lesnar’s title belt. Heyman said the truth is Reigns is Lesnar’s bitch.

Reigns came out and was greeted by O’Neil, Sheamus, Cesaro, Slater, Dallas, et all. Reigns couldn’t get past them as Lesnar mocked him in the ring. Reigns grabbed a microphone and told the wrestlers “all you full-time guys are going to protect that part-time bastard. Think about it, boys.” Sheamus, Cesaro, O’Neil Gallows, Slater, Rhyno talked amongst themsleves and let Reigns pass. Reigns marched to the ring and stared down Lesnar, who told him to think about it real hard. Crowd chanted “Let’s go Roman.” Reigns got in the ring and they stared each other down. Lesnar put down his belt. After they circled the ring, Lesnar rolled out of the ring and just smiled at Reigns as he picked his belt back up. Lesnar picked up a chair, put the belt down and got back in the ring. Reigns didn’t back up as they circled the ring again. Reigns hit Lesnar with a Superman Punch, and then another, then another and then another. Lesnar got up with the chair, but Reigns hit him again with a Superman Punch. Reigns picked up the Universal Championship and held it up to the crowd as he looked to the WrestleMania sign. Then Lesnar quickly got up and hit Reigns with an F-5 on the belt. Heyman told Lesnar that the F-5 put Reigns down.

Rollins vs. Balor, face-to-face segment set for WWE Raw next week

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will confront Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle next week on Raw, just days before their mixed tag team match at WrestleMania.

After their match was announced a few weeks ago, we have seen videos from both teams sharing their thoughts on the upcoming match. This week, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H had their say, indicating that their goal for WrestleMania is to humble Ronda Rousey just like how they’ve humbled everyone else in WWE. Stephanie also made it clear that she would exploit Rousey’s inexperience.

Meanwhile, a singles bout between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor was also announced for next week. They fell into a trap set by the Miz on tonight’s show where it appeared the Miztourage were about to come to blows with the Miz when instead they jumped Balor and Rollins. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson made the save as Balor gave Miz the slingblade. Rollins went for the curb stomp on the Miz but missed, then walked right into a clothesline from Balor, who then grabbed the Intercontinental title and held it high.

Raw next week will be at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ronda Rousey now advertised for next three weeks of WWE Raw

Ronda Rousey was not a part of Raw Monday, despite a WWE.com article the previous week saying otherwise.

However, as of Wednesday morning, she is again advertised for all episodes of Raw until WrestleMania. Previously, she had only been listed for April 2nd in Atlanta, which is the go-home show for WrestleMania.

On Monday night, a video highlighting the feud between Rousey & Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon & Triple H aired, but she did not appear on the episode in person. WWE had previously promoted that she would be appearing at every Raw in the lead-up to WrestleMania starting with last week’s show, but that article has since been taken off their website.

Rousey has cemented her storyline for WrestleMania over the last couple of weeks. The day after Elimination Chamber, Triple H sucker punched Angle, who said he made up everything he said the previous night about Triple H and Stephanie disparaging Rousey. The following week, Rousey challenged Stephanie to a match. Stephanie said she couldn’t, as she was an executive. However, Angle pointed out that both she and Triple H have second contracts as wrestlers, and thus made a mixed tag match for WrestleMania.

Rousey was on the episode of “The Ellen Show” that aired yesterday, talking about crossing over from mixed martial arts to pro wrestling.

WWE Raw video highlights: Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle stand tall

Ronda Rousey’s WrestleMania plans became official on last night’s episode of Raw.

The show opened with the continuation of the Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H storyline. Rousey said that she wanted to face Stephanie at WrestleMania, but Stephanie and Triple H claimed that wasn’t possible because she’s an executive and not a wrestler.

Angle jumped in, noting that both Stephanie and Triple H have separate wrestling contracts. He said he makes the matches and announced their mixed tag for WrestleMania. Stephanie went to slap Angle, but Rousey blocked it. Triple H tried to attack Angle and Stephanie gave Rousey a forearm to the back, but the segment ended with Rousey and Angle standing tall.

Paul Heyman responded to Roman Reigns to close the show, with Reigns saying that Brock Lesnar should be ready for a fight next week. Plus, Matt Hardy challenged Bray Wyatt to “The Ultimate Deletion” on the Hardy Compound, Braun Strowman took on Elias in a Symphony of Destruction match, and WWE continued to build more programs for WrestleMania.

Rousey & Angle vs. Stephanie & HHH announced for WrestleMania 34

After weeks of speculation, a key match for WrestleMania was officially made tonight on Raw.

Kurt Angle announced that he and Ronda Rousey will team in her first WWE match to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a mixed tag team bout. This came after a promo where Rousey revealed that she would like to face Stephanie in a match at WrestleMania. Stephanie said that she wouldn’t be able to since she was an executive. Angle revealed, however, that both Stephanie and Triple H have second wrestling contracts that are separate from their corporate contracts, and since he makes the matches, he officially made the match between the four of them for WrestleMania.

After that was announced, Triple H attacked Angle. Stephanie exited the ring, then attacked Rousey from behind. Rousey no sold the attack and laid out Stephanie with a Samoan drop, while Angle locked in the Angle lock on Triple H.

The build for the match started at Elimination Chamber after Angle revealed some interesting comments made by Triple H and Stephanie about Rousey, which he later had to refute the following night on Raw. Triple H blindsided him with a punch as he was exiting the ring, leading to the confrontation tonight.

Rousey to appear on WWE Raw as WrestleMania build continues

Ronda Rousey will appear on Raw this week to continue the storyline between herself, Kurt Angle, and the Authority that began tonight.

Stephanie McMahon confirmed on Raw Talk after the Elimination Chamber that Rousey will appear live tomorrow. She said that she hopes to air things out between all parties following what went down tonight, and assured everyone that everything would be just fine.

During the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Rousey came out to sign her contract. It went along pretty well until Angle mentioned to Rousey that Triple H told him backstage that this had been in the making for three years and now they “owned the b****”.” Triple H tried to get Angle out of the ring, with Stephanie mentioning that he had the flu and was out of it, but before he could make his exit, Angle said Stephanie had badmouthed Rousey as well, saying that she was washed up and even she could take her.

This led to a confrontation between Rousey and Stephanie. Triple H tried to intervene, but Rousey put him through the contract table. Stephanie slapped Rousey, but bolted before Rousey could do anything. She then signed the contract, slamming it on Triple H’s chest.

Video of tonight’s contract signing segment is available to watch below:

Stephanie McMahon joining announce team for women’s Royal Rumble

Stephanie McMahon will be joining the commentary team for Sunday’s women’s Royal Rumble match.

McMahon made the announcement on Twitter today: “Announcing the first-ever women’s #RoyalRumble match was one of my all-time favorite moments in @WWE… And now I’m proud to share that I’ll be joining the Announce team for this historic match this Sunday! #RumbleForAll #RoyalRumble”

McMahon joined the women’s division in the ring on the December 18th episode of Raw to announce that WWE’s first-ever women’s Royal Rumble would be happening in 2018. While speaking with The Mirror earlier this month, she explained why the announcement was a character-breaking moment: “We were chastised by some fans because we broke character and I told the women earlier in the day — they knew I was coming out but they didn’t know what I was going to say — I told them react naturally, don’t feel like you have to be in character, it’s okay for you to react however you want to react, to whatever I’m going to say. We all broke character that night.”

There have been 18 entrants officially confirmed for the women’s Rumble, which is everyone on the current roster who is active and doesn’t hold a title. The remaining participants in the match figure to be wrestlers from NXT and potentially some surprise appearances.

Big night of returns on WWE Raw

It was a big night of returns on WWE television tonight.

Stephanie McMahon, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Bo Dallas, JoJo, and Nia Jax all returned to TV on this week’s episode of Raw. Stephanie making an appearance was the storyline reason for Kurt Angle wrestling at Survivor Series, with her naming Angle the captain of Raw’s team for the pay-per-view. She threatened to find a new general manager if Raw doesn’t annihilate SmackDown.

No other members of Raw’s men’s division team for Survivor Series have been announced yet, but Dave Meltzer reported today that Strowman, Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns & Finn Balor would be teaming with Angle. Joe returned to Raw for the first time since he suffered a knee injury at a house show in August, defeating Apollo Crews in his first match back.

Strowman also returned at the end of tonight’s episode, emerging from a garbage truck like the one he was put in at TLC and going after The Miz, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel. Dallas and JoJo were back on Raw after being off the road in recent weeks due to Dallas and Bray Wyatt being ill.

Raw’s women’s division team did add a member for Survivor Series, with Nia Jax joining Alicia Fox as she came back to Raw and defeated Bayley tonight. Jax had been taking time off and was scheduled to return today before the Raw roster flies to Glasgow, Scotland to begin WWE’s European tour.

WWE plans to integrate LGBT characters on television

According to WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, gender inclusive characters could soon be integrated into the company’s programming.

McMahon was a featured speaker at an event hosted by Beyond Sport at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Tuesday and spoke about the WWE’s role in ensuring gender inclusion in sports.

“We will integrate LGBT characters into our programming … and I do think there will be an opportunity to integrate some of those storylines in the near future,” McMahon said.

McMahon made similar comments to The Daily Beast in 2015 when asked about Darren Young’s on-screen character. It is unclear if she is now speaking about the current state of the creative process or if it only remains a future goal.

McMahon’s comments come during the same week that longtime employee Pat Patterson’s life story is receiving attention after the release of his autobiography “Accepted: How the First Gay Superstar Changed WWE.”

During her speech, McMahon noted that she grew up knowing gay WWE wrestlers and employees, but now wants to get the message out there on television.
