Three Money in the Bank qualifying matches announced for WWE Raw

The build to Money in the Bank officially kicks off with three qualifying matches taking place on tonight’s Raw.

The qualifying matches that have been announced for tonight’s show are all for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The qualifiers are: Asuka vs. Ruby Riott, Kairi Sane vs. Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler vs. Sarah Logan.

Baszler unsuccessfully challenged for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36, but WWE has made it clear that their feud isn’t over.

Asuka & Sane lost the Women’s Tag Team titles to Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at WrestleMania. Bliss & Cross also defeated Asuka & Sane in a WrestleMania rematch on SmackDown last Friday.

Asuka defeated Liv Morgan in a singles match on last Monday’s Raw.

After a year away from the ring due to undergoing surgery to repair both of her ACLs, Jax returned to action by decisively defeating Deonna Purrazzo on Raw last week.

Money in the Bank is set for Sunday, May 10. Two qualifying matches have also been announced for this Friday’s SmackDown. Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro will determine one of the participants for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, while qualifiers for the women’s ladder match will continue with Naomi vs. Dana Brooke.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will kick off tonight’s Raw. An appearance by Becky Lynch is also advertised for the show.

Raw Women’s title match official for WWE WrestleMania 36

Becky Lynch officially has her opponent for WrestleMania 36.

Shayna Baszler won tonight’s Elimination Chamber main event and will challenge Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Baszler used the Kirifuda Clutch to eliminate all five of her opponents tonight.

Baszler was the fourth wrestler to enter the Elimination Chamber. She immediately tapped out Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan with the Kirifuda Clutch, then used the move to eliminate Natalya.

Baszler waited for the next wrestler to enter. Liv Morgan came in, and she passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch as Baszler stared Asuka down.

Asuka was the final wrestler to enter the Chamber but also passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch.

Lynch was shown watching the Elimination Chamber match backstage twice as it was going on and after Baszler’s win. The build to their WrestleMania match kicked off last month with an angle where Baszler appeared on Raw, attacked Lynch, and bit her in the back of the neck.

WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.

Kairi Sane replacing Asuka in match on WWE Raw

WWE has announced a change to one of the matches that was scheduled for tonight’s episode of Raw.

Instead of Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka taking place on the show, it will now be Baszler vs. Kairi Sane. WWE.com claimed that the change was made due to Asuka having a sprained wrist: “Due to a sprained wrist, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka is not medically cleared to compete tonight on Monday Night Raw. Facing Shayna Baszler in The Empress of Tomorrow’s place will be her tag team partner, Kairi Sane.”

Tonight’s Raw is taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and is the go-home show for Elimination Chamber. Baszler, Asuka, Natalya, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan will face off in an Elimination Chamber match at Sunday’s pay-per-view, with the winner challenging Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.

Tonight’s show will feature appearances by WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Beth Phoenix. The Street Profits challenging for Seth Rollins & Murphy’s Raw Tag Team titles is also set for the episode, along with AJ Styles vs. Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio & Humberto Carrillo vs. Andrade & Angel Garza, and a 24/7 title defense by Riddick Moss.

WWE hasn’t announced who Moss’ challenger will be.

Baszler vs. Asuka, Tag Team & 24/7 title defenses set for WWE Raw

WWE has made a few more announcements for Raw’s Elimination Chamber go-home show.

Ahead of taking part in one of next Sunday’s Elimination Chamber matches, Shayna Baszler and Asuka will face off in a singles match on Raw tomorrow night. It will be the first time Baszler and Asuka have wrestled each other.

Baszler, Asuka, Natalya, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan are the participants for the women’s Elimination Chamber match, with the winner going on to challenge Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.

In what WWE is calling a “Now or Never” match, The Street Profits are getting one more shot at Seth Rollins & Murphy’s Raw Tag Team titles tomorrow. Rollins & Murphy retained their titles against The Street Profits at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. The finish was Murphy pinning Angelo Dawkins after Rollins gave Dawkins a stomp on the apron while the referee was distracted.

The 24/7 title will also be on the line on Raw tomorrow night, though WWE hasn’t announced who Riddick Moss’ challenger will be.

Tomorrow’s Raw is taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. AJ Styles vs. Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio & Humberto Carrillo vs. Andrade & Angel Garza had already been announced for the episode.

Tomorrow’s show will also feature appearances by Brock Lesnar and Beth Phoenix. Lesnar, who will defend his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania, retained the title against Ricochet at Super ShowDown.

WWE is hyping that Phoenix will give an update on Edge’s status after the angle where he was attacked by Randy Orton in January.

WWE reveals women’s Elimination Chamber match participants

WWE has revealed how Becky Lynch’s challenger for WrestleMania 36 will be determined.

It was announced via The Wrap this afternoon that Shayna Baszler, Asuka, Ruby Riott, Natalya, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan will be the six participants in next month’s women’s Elimination Chamber match. The winner will challenge Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.

The women’s Elimination Chamber participants have also been announced by WWE.com.

Baszler is expected to be Lynch’s challenger for WrestleMania. She appeared on Raw last week and took part in an angle where she bit Lynch after Lynch retained her title against Asuka. Lynch refused to get in an ambulance, drove off in it herself, and then returned later in the show. She cut a promo where she told Baszler that she better find Lynch before Lynch finds her.

This year’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 8. The Wells Fargo Center is also advertising that there will be an Elimination Chamber match to decide who will challenge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36.

Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida is hosting WrestleMania on April 5.

The build to Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36 officially began on tonight’s episode of Raw.

After Lynch retained her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka on the show, Baszler appeared and kickstarted the build to WrestleMania. She attacked Lynch from behind, took her mouth guard off, and then bit Lynch in the back of the neck. Baszler’s face was smeared in red after biting her.

The angle then continued with Lynch refusing to get into an ambulance and instead driving away in it.

Dave Meltzer reported after the Royal Rumble that Lynch vs. Baszler was planned for WrestleMania. Baszler entered the women’s Royal Rumble match as the 30th entrant and made it to the final two before being eliminated by Charlotte Flair.

WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5. Brock Lesnar defending the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre is the first match that’s been officially confirmed for the show. Lesnar will also defend his title against Ricochet at Super ShowDown later this month.

WWE’s WrestleMania card causes changes in Royal Rumble winners

According to Dave Meltzer on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio (sub needed), the evolution of this year’s WWE WrestleMania card caused the winners of both Royal Rumble matches to be changed.

Meltzer said that Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns were slated to win their respective Rumbles but as planning for the top matches at WrestleMania played out, the decision was made to go with Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre instead.

He believes the change was made on or around January 14th as betting money changed drastically in favor of Flair winning.

Baszler entered the women’s Rumble 30th and survived until the end when she was eliminated by Flair to end the match. Similarly, Reigns entered 26th in the men’s Rumble and was eliminated by McIntyre to end the match.

Meltzer said as of now, the Mania card is as follows:

– WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre
– WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
– Edge vs. Randy Orton

Rhea Ripley wins NXT Women’s title from Shayna Baszler

NXT has a new Women’s Champion.

Shayna Baszler’s second reign as NXT Women’s Champion came to an end as Rhea Ripley defeated her to win the title on tonight’s NXT. The finish of the match was Ripley hitting an avalanche Riptide off of the second rope after breaking out of Baszler’s Kirifuda Clutch.

This is the second title that Ripley has won in WWE. She was the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion and held that title from August 2018 to January 2019.

Baszler had been NXT Women’s Champion since winning the title from Kairi Sane at WWE Evolution in October 2018.

Ripley was set up as Baszler’s challenger for tonight after pinning her to win the women’s WarGames match at TakeOver last month. Ripley also won the women’s traditional elimination tag match for Team NXT at Survivor Series.

Baszler vs. Ripley was the second of two title matches that took place on tonight’s NXT. Adam Cole retained his NXT Championship against Finn Balor in the opening match after Johnny Gargano made his return to television.

Ripley to challenge for Baszler’s NXT Women’s title on December 18

Rhea Ripley is getting her shot at Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Championship.

Baszler will defend her title against Ripley on the Wednesday, December 18 episode of NXT. The announcement was made after an angle where Baszler choked Ripley out tonight.

Ripley was supposed to face Dakota Kai on tonight’s NXT, but she brought out Mia Yim instead. As Yim and Kai brawled to the back, Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke came to the ring and attacked Ripley. Ripley tried to fight them off, but Shafir and Duke stopped her from breaking out of the Kirifuda Clutch.

Baszler said Ripley doesn’t know what she’s asking for by wanting a title shot. Baszler then said she wants a match against Ripley too — and Ripley will get her shot in two weeks.

At NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Ripley pinned Baszler to win the women’s WarGames match.

Baszler has been NXT Women’s Champion since winning the title from Kairi Sane at WWE Evolution in October 2018. This is her second reign with the title.

WWE NXT video highlights: Bayley attacks Shayna Baszler

Bayley returned to Full Sail University last night as the build to Survivor Series weekend continued.

After Tegan Nox, Rhea Ripley, Candice LeRae, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke had been attacked earlier in the night, Bayley appeared at the end of last night’s episode and laid out Shayna Baszler with a chair. Bayley will face Baszler and Becky Lynch in a non-title triple threat match at Survivor Series.

Bayley’s appearance came after Mia Yim and Io Shirai faced off in a ladder match in last night’s main event. Shirai won the WarGames advantage for her team, with Kay Lee Ray helping her and being revealed as the final member of Team Baszler.

Matt Riddle is out of the men’s WarGames match at TakeOver. He’ll instead face Finn Balor at the show. Dominik Dijakovic has taken Riddle’s spot in WarGames.

Baszler vs. Kai set for NXT, more WarGames participants confirmed

The lineup for the first-ever women’s WarGames match is almost officially set.

WWE has confirmed that Tegan Nox and Candice LeRae will be on Rhea Ripley’s team for TakeOver: WarGames, while Bianca Belair and Io Shirai will be on Shayna Baszler’s team. It will be a four-on-four match, with the last member of each team yet to be revealed.

Ripley and Baszler appeared on WWE’s The Bump this morning and announced their first two team members. Ripley was asked about Dakota Kai potentially being the final member of her team. Ripley said she’s thought about Kai, but she needs the best fighters she can find. Baszler wanted Ripley to choose Kai and said she would be a wasted pick.

Kai tweeted that she’ll prove to Ripley that she should be on her team, which set up WWE announcing NXT Women’s Champion Baszler vs. Kai in a non-title match for tonight’s episode of NXT.

To explain why Baszler hasn’t picked Marina Shafir or Jessamyn Duke for her team yet, Baszler said she knows you need friends on the outside in a WarGames match.

The Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois is hosting this year’s TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday, November 23. That’s the night before Survivor Series.

At Survivor Series, Baszler will face Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a non-title triple threat match.

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Shayna Baszler set for WWE Survivor Series

Three of WWE’s Women’s Champions will be facing off at Survivor Series.

On tonight’s episode of Raw, a non-title triple threat match between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was announced for the pay-per-view. It’s taking place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on November 24 and will feature involvement from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.

A sit-down interview with Lynch aired on Raw tonight. Lynch said she’s the target in the triple threat match, mentioning the issues she’s had with Bayley’s friend Sasha Banks and Baszler’s friend Ronda Rousey.

Baszler then interrupted the interview. She said Lynch defeated Rousey at WrestleMania, but Baszler isn’t Ronda Rousey. Baszler told Lynch that — while she won’t take her eyes off of Bayley — she’s going to pin Lynch or tap her out. She said the only thing Lynch will have to think about between now and Survivor Series is which one of her limbs will belong to Baszler.

Lynch responded by saying she’s happy they got the chance to talk so Baszler could feel the same doubt that Rousey felt. Lynch said she won’t be taking her eyes off Bayley either, but she’ll be coming directly for Baszler at Survivor Series. They went face-to-face to close the segment, with Lynch saying she’ll show Baszler who the real baddest woman on the planet is.

Baszler also took part in the NXT invasion of SmackDown last Friday and attacked Bayley after she had defended the SmackDown Women’s title against Nikki Cross.

First-ever women’s WarGames match set for NXT TakeOver

The NXT women’s division will collide in the first-ever women’s WarGames match next month.

During tonight’s episode of NXT, it was announced that a women’s WarGames match will take place at TakeOver: WarGames in Rosemont, Illinois on Saturday, November 23. The special is taking place at the Allstate Arena.

The announcement came after a brawl that took place on tonight’s NXT. The full list of participants for the WarGames match hasn’t been confirmed, but Rhea Ripley and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler were announced as the team captains.

Ripley, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox were on the babyface side of tonight’s brawl, while Baszler, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir were on the heel side. The brawl happened when Baszler, Duke & Shafir came to the ring after Kai & Nox lost to Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane.

WWE announced Ripley and Baszler as the captains via CBS Sports, who wrote that “a promo was aired earlier in the show for Mia Yim, who could even out the sides.”

There will also be a men’s WarGames match at next month’s TakeOver.

NXT Women’s title match announced for October 2

Candice LeRae is the new number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship.

LeRae defeated Mia Yim, Bianca Belair, and Io Shirai in a fatal four-way number one contender’s match at the start of tonight’s NXT on USA Network premiere. It was later announced that LeRae will get her title shot against Shayna Baszler on the Wednesday, October 2 episode of NXT.

LeRae pinned Yim to win the number one contender’s match. Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke then came out to the stage, with Baszler and LeRae going face-to-face.

Baszler has been NXT Women’s Champion since defeating Kairi Sane at WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view in October 2018. This is Baszler’s second reign with the title.

October 2 is the first night that NXT is airing live on USA Network for the full two hours. Due to the final two episodes of the USA Network series “Suits,” the second hour of this and next week’s NXT episodes are airing on WWE Network.

AEW will also debut on TNT on October 2. It will go head-to-head with NXT.
