Mercedes Mone to make double title defense at RevPro event

Mercedes Mone’s belt collection is dwindling down — and she’ll be putting two more championships on the line when she competes at Revolution Pro Wrestling High Stakes 2026.

RevPro has announced that Mone will defend both her Bodyslam Women’s Championship and Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship when she takes on Alexxis Falcon at the High Stakes event. It’s being held at The Hangar in Wolverhampton on Saturday, March 21.

Bodyslam Wrestling and Discovery Wrestling are indie promotions respectively based out of Denmark and Scotland.

After taking a break from the ring at the end of last year, Mone returned this month and has already lost the CMLL Women’s World Championship and Bestya Women’s Championship. That’s on top of the AEW TBS Championship, RevPro Undisputed Women’s Championship, and ROH Women’s Television title she lost in December 2025.

It’s not yet known when Mone will be returning to AEW programming. Along with this RevPro date, she has upcoming indie title defenses in France, Poland, and Canada.

The High Stakes card also includes an Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship match with Jay Joshua defending against 1 Called Manders.

Ricochet to defend AEW National title at RevPro event

Ricochet has an AEW National title defense coming up this Sunday in Cardiff, Wales.

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced today that its Uprising event on December 14 will feature Ricochet vs. Nino Bryant for the AEW National Championship. The title, which was just recently established, exists to be defended both in AEW and outside of the company for promotions like RevPro.

Since becoming the inaugural National Champion, Ricochet has retained the belt against Dalton Castle at ROH Final Battle and Ace Austin on AEW Collision. His reign began on November 22 when he won the Casino Gauntlet Match at Full Gear.

Vale Arena in Cardiff is hosting RevPro Uprising. With AEW in town for Collision this weekend, Mercedes Mone is also featured on the RevPro card. She is putting her Undisputed British Women’s Championship on the line against UK indie star RHIO.

TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was scheduled for Uprising but has been pulled from his indie appearances in Europe this weekend, potentially indicating that he’ll be appearing at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Slater was supposed to be part of a three-way bout for the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship. It will now be a singles match with Sha Samuels defending against Jay Joshua.

TNA star Leon Slater pulled from weekend indie events

TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater is set to miss two upcoming indie bookings, potentially setting the stage for an appearance at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Slater was set to wrestle at wXw’s 25th Anniversary show in Germany this Saturday and then head to the United Kingdom for Revolution Pro Wrestling Uprising 2025 on Sunday. He’s now been pulled from both of those dates. While there has been no confirmation of Slater’s plans, the obvious speculation would be that he’s missing these events so he can be at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

At the wXw show, Slater was set to take part in a four-way match to crown the promotion’s new European Champion. Ricky Sosa, Zoltan, and Joseph Fenech Jr. are the other participants.

“Leon Slater has informed us that he will unfortunately no longer be available for #wXwAnniversary on Saturday,” wXW announced. We are working on a solution for his announced match.”

Slater has been removed from what was scheduled to be a three-way match at RevPro Uprising where Sha Samuels is defending the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship against Jay Joshua.

Along with starring for TNA, Slater has been featured in NXT and is part of a tag team with Je’Von Evans. They were both involved in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline this past weekend, which Evans won to earn an NXT Championship shot at New Year’s Evil 2026.

The December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is being headlined by John Cena vs. Gunther in Cena’s last match. The undercard will feature exhibition bouts pitting main roster talent against NXT wrestlers. Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi and Bayley vs. Sol Ruca have been announced so far.

Mercedes Mone set for indie title vs. title match

Mercedes Mone has the chance to add another title belt to her collection before Forbidden Door.

Revolution Pro Wrestling has announced that Mone vs. Emersyn Jayne will take place at their Global Wars UK show in London this Friday (August 22). It’s a title vs. title match where Mone’s Undisputed British Women’s Championship and Jayne’s Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship will both be on the line.

Discovery Wrestling is a Scottish indie promotion based in Edinburgh. This match was set up by a challenge that was issued by Jayne.

Mone became the Undisputed British Women’s Champion this January and has made two successful title defenses in RevPro so far. It’s one of several belts she currently holds in addition to the AEW TBS Championship — which she will be defending in a four-way match at Sunday’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view in London. It will be Mone vs. Alex Windsor vs. Persephone vs. a yet-to-be-announced representative from Stardom.

Global Wars UK is night one of RevPro’s 13th anniversary weekend. At night two on Saturday, there will be a six-woman tag match pitting Mone, Dani Luna & Kanji against Windsor, Safire Reed & Nina Samuels.

Crystal Palace National Sports Centre is hosting both nights of the anniversary weekend. The shows will be available to watch live on RevPro On Demand.

UK promotion inducting Jushin Liger into Hall of Fame during Forbidden Door weekend

Revolution Pro Wrestling is set to honor one of NJPW’s greatest-ever legends during Forbidden Door weekend.

The British indie promotion announced today that it will induct Jushin Thunder Liger into the RevPro Hall of Fame on Friday, August 22. Liger will be appearing in person at the induction, which is happening at RevPro’s Global Wars UK show at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

Liger made several trips to RevPro during his career and was the winner of the promotion’s inaugural British J-Cup tournament in 2017. In today’s announcement, RevPro credited Liger for opening the door to the strong working relationship the company has with NJPW.

“He was the first NJPW wrestler to be showcased on a RevPro event opening the door to a great relationship,” RevPro wrote.

Liger retired from the ring with his last NJPW match taking place in 2020. His last time competing in the UK was for RevPro in 2020.

Following his retirement, Liger was also honored with an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The RevPro Hall of Fame was established in 2021 with the late Ryan Smile being selected as the first inductee.

RevPro, NJPW, ROH, and CMLL wrestlers will be featured on Global Wars UK, an event that’s happening as part of RevPro’s 13th anniversary weekend. Tomohiro Ishii vs. Jay Joshua is the latest match to be announced.

Global Wars UK is happening two days before AEW & NJPW Forbidden Door 2025. That pay-per-view is being held at The O2 Arena in London on Sunday, August 24.

AEW wrestler Dante Martin set for RevPro British J-Cup

Rising AEW star Dante Martin is set to compete in the United Kingdom’s top junior heavyweight tournament.

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced today that Martin will be one of the entrants in British J-Cup 2024, a one-night tournament that’s being held in Stevenage on Saturday, September 28. Barbaro Cavernario, Cameron Khai, Lio Rush, Robbie X, Kid Lykos, Robbie Eagles, and Kid Lykos II will also be participants.

Aside from 2020 (when it couldn’t happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the British J-Cup has taken place every year since 2017. Jushin Thunder Liger, El Phantasmo, Michael Oku, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Robbie X, and Leon Slater are the past winners. It’s an offshoot of the Super J-Cup tournament that originated in NJPW in the 1990s.

The winner of the tournament receives a shot at the Undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship that’s currently held by Will Kaven.

The 23-year-old Martin made his RevPro debut this August, wrestling at the promotion’s 12th anniversary show during All In weekend. He teams with his older brother Darius as Top Flight in AEW/ROH, where they are aligned with Action Andretti as a trios team.

The Gordon Craig Theatre at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre is the venue for British J-Cup 2024.

Will Ospreay set for final independent wrestling match

Before starting full-time with AEW, Will Ospreay will compete for Revolution Pro Wrestling one last time.

Ospreay will wrestle his last RevPro match at High Stakes 2024 on Sunday, February 18. He’s challenging Michael Oku for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.

“We’ve been saying don’t take him for granted for a long time & now this is it,” RevPro wrote. “WILL OSPREAY’S LAST REVPRO MATCH & HE SAYS HE IS LEAVING WITH HIS PROPERTY.”

Ospreay confirmed that this will be his final independent wrestling match.

The match was set up last weekend when Ospreay issued a challenge to Oku at RevPro’s Uprising event.

At High Stakes nearly two years ago, Ospreay defeated Oku in one of the best matches of 2022. That match was rated five stars by Dave Meltzer and placed 10th in our Match of the Year voting.

Oku has been Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion since defeating Great-O-Khan in July 2023. Ospreay held the title from February 2020 to August 2022.

During last month’s Full Gear pay-per-view, it was revealed that Ospreay has signed a multi-year deal with AEW. Ospreay is still under NJPW contract until February 2024.

Ospreay is also set to wrestle for TNA Wrestling at the company’s television tapings in Las Vegas on Sunday, January 14.

RevPro High Stakes 2024 is taking place from Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London. Former WWE wrestler Mustafa Ali has also been announced for the show, facing Robbie X.

Former NXT UK wrestler Eddie Dennis announces retirement

A former NXT UK wrestler is stepping away from the ring.

Eddie Dennis retired from in-ring competition at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Revolution Rumble event in London on Sunday. Dennis said going into the show that he would retire if he didn’t win the Revolution Rumble match.

Michael Oku won the Revolution Rumble. Dennis was eliminated by Connor Mills.

Dennis was released by WWE in August 2022. Most of the NXT UK roster was released at that time, with WWE announcing that NXT UK was ending in its current form and would become NXT Europe.

The 37-year-old Dennis was both a wrestler and a manager in NXT UK. He was part of the Symbiosis faction with Primate and T-Bone.

Dennis, who is from Wales, is a former PROGRESS Wrestling World Champion and Tag Team Champion.

PROGRESS tweeted about Dennis’ retirement: “We didn’t want to believe the news, we didn’t think it could be true.  The reality has set in and now we know this is the end. #ThankYouEddie  We will forever party hard with your amazing memories from what you created with us at PROGRESS.”

Before becoming a full-time wrestler, Dennis worked as a math teacher. “It was a risk giving up teaching altogether to pursue my dream,” Dennis told the BBC in 2022. “It was pretty terrifying… I had a very much established a life, my fiancee and I had a mortgage. I was leaving that to go and wrestle independently.”

Tessa Blanchard will make her RevPro debut against Kanji at the British J-Cup show. Another non-tournament match is also set, with Ren Narita facing Brendan White.

PAC will face Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite next Wednesday (October 23). PAC & Moxley teamed together against Hangman Page & Kenny Omega on this week’s episode. After PAC stopped Moxley from using a barbed wire weapon so they wouldn’t get disqualified, Moxley gave PAC a Paradigm Shift DDT and walked out of the match.

Amazing Red announced for RevPro British J-Cup

After returning to the ring last month, Amazing Red is set for another J-Cup tournament.

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced today that Amazing Red will be taking part in this year’s British J-Cup. It’s being held at York Hall in London, England on Sunday, November 24.

Amazing Red returned to face Will Ospreay in the opening round of NJPW’s Super J-Cup in August. Red lost to Ospreay in the main event of night one before wrestling in non-tournament action on nights two and three. He teamed with Jushin Thunder Liger against Rocky Romero & YOH on night two. On night three, Red, Liger, Ryusuke Taguchi & TJP took on Robbie Eagles, Romero, SHO & YOH.

Eagles is the only other entrant that’s been announced for this year’s British J-Cup thus far. Tessa Blanchard will make her RevPro debut at the show. She’ll face Kanji in a non-tournament match.

This will be RevPro’s third annual British J-Cup. Liger won the junior heavyweight tournament in 2017, while El Phantasmo won it last year.

Okada & Tanahashi facing Suzuki & ZSJ at RevPro Summer Sizzler

Ahead of Royal Quest, Kazuchika Okada & Hiroshi Tanahashi will again be teaming against their respective opponents.

Okada & Tanahashi vs. Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr. has been announced for Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Summer Sizzler 2019. The show is taking place at York Hall in London, England on Friday, August 30.

Okada will defend his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Suzuki in the main event of NJPW Royal Quest at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday, August 31. Tanahashi is challenging for Sabre’s RevPro British Heavyweight Championship in the semi-main event.

There will also be a tag team match with Royal Quest implications at Summer Sizzler. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) are facing Sha Samuels & Josh Bodom in the finals of a tournament, with the winning team advancing to challenge for Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa’s IWGP Tag Team titles at Royal Quest.

Summer Sizzler will later be uploaded to RevPro’s on-demand service.

Tanahashi & Ospreay vs. Suzuki & ZSJ set for RevPro WM week show

The day before they face off at G1 Supercard, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Zack Sabre Jr. will be on opposite sides of a tag match for Revolution Pro Wrestling.

RevPro has announced that Tanahashi & Will Ospreay will face British Tag Team Champions Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr. in a non-title match at their WrestleMania week show in New York City on Friday, April 5. The event is taking place at the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom and will begin at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

RevPro’s show in NYC is being presented by WrestleCon.

Tanahashi vs. Sabre at ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard will be for Sabre’s RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship. Ospreay is NJPW’s NEVER Openweight Champion and will face ROH Television Champion Jeff Cobb in a title vs. title match at G1 Supercard.

Ospreay was originally scheduled to team with PAC against CCK (Chris Brookes & Jonathan Gresham) at RevPro’s WrestleMania week show, but PAC had to be pulled from WrestleCon due to a visa issue.

Ospreay & PAC teaming together at RevPro WrestleMania week show

Will Ospreay and PAC will be sharing the ring together over WrestleMania week — but they’ll be doing so as teammates.

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced today that Ospreay & PAC will face CCK (Chris Brookes & Jonathan Gresham) at their WrestleMania week show in New York City on Friday, April 5. The show is presented by WrestleCon and will take place at the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom. The start time is 3 p.m. Eastern.

Ospreay & PAC vs. CCK stems from the story of Ospreay and PAC’s first-ever match against each other from RevPro’s High Stakes event last week. Brookes and Gresham interfered and attacked Ospreay while the referee was down. Brookes went to hit Ospreay with PAC’s Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate title belt, but PAC stopped him. Ospreay and PAC briefly worked together to take out CCK.

Ospreay and PAC’s match at High Stakes ended in a 30-minute time-limit draw. PAC escaped a Storm Breaker and low blowed Ospreay near the finish. PAC wanted the referee to call for the disqualification, but he let the match continue. PAC then went up to hit the Black Arrow, but he opted to celebrate instead as time expired.

The crowd chanted for five more minutes after Ospreay vs. PAC. Ospreay called for it too, but PAC headed to the back.

RevPro books Will Ospreay vs. PAC for High Stakes 2019

The long-anticipated Will Ospreay vs. PAC match will become a reality in February.

Revolution Pro Wrestling has announced Ospreay vs. PAC (formerly Neville in WWE) for their High Stakes 2019 event at York Hall in London, England on Friday, February 15. PAC also faced Speedball Mike Bailey for RevPro last month and has a match against Zack Sabre Jr. set for RevPro’s Live at the Cockpit show at The Cockpit Theatre in London on Sunday, January 6.

Sabre will be challenging for Tomohiro Ishii’s RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 13 on January 4.

Ospreay had been building up a match against PAC prior to today’s announcement, tweeting “Give. Me. PAC.” when it was confirmed in August that PAC was no longer under contract with WWE.

After a year away from the ring, PAC resurfaced for Dragon Gate at a show in early October. He started to make his first post-WWE European independent appearances last month.
