Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest street fight added to WWE Backlash

Bad Bunny will return to the ring at WWE Backlash.

As announced on Monday’s Raw episode, Bad Bunny is set to take on Damian Priest of The Judgment Day in a street fight at the Saturday, May 6 Backlash pay-per-view in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It will be the third career match for Bad Bunny.

Bunny appeared on Monday’s Raw, saving Rey Mysterio from a Priest attack. Bunny hit Priest with a kendo stick, then announced that he was no longer hosting Backlash, but instead would be facing Priest in a street fight at the event.

Bunny last wrestled in the 2022 Royal Rumble match. Prior to that, he teamed with Priest to defeat John Morrison and The Miz on night one of WrestleMania 37 in April 2021.

A Raw Women’s Championship match has also been added to the Backlash card.

IYO SKY crowned number one contender to WWE Raw Women’s title

IYO SKY is the new number one contender to the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

SKY defeated Piper Niven and Michin in a triple threat match on Monday’s Raw to earn the number one contendership and a future title shot at Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.

SKY pinned Michin after hitting her signature moonsault on Raw in Seattle to win the triple threat contest. The match was set up earlier in the program in a backstage segment where Damage CTRL leader Bayley said she went to on-screen authority figure Adam Pearce to secure SKY a spot in the number one contender’s bout.

Damage CTRL’s Bayley and Dakota Kai celebrated with SKY in the ring after the match, but Bayley’s body language hinted at dissension within the trio.

No date was announced for the Belair vs. SKY title bout, but WWE Backlash on Saturday, May 6 seems a logical destination for the match.

SKY is a former NXT Women’s Champion, and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. She has twice held titles on the main roster, capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles with Kai.

Belair has held the Raw Women’s Championship for 374 days since defeating Becky Lynch for the title on night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2, 2022. Belair’s most recent title defense came at WrestleMania 39, where she defeated Asuka to retain on night two of the event.

Elsewhere on Raw, Cody Rhodes issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar to face him at Backlash. Lesnar will appear on next week’s Raw to answer the challenge.

Belair’s last title defense also came against Bliss at the January 2 Raw in Nashville, where she retained the title via DQ.

Belair has held the Raw Women’s title since night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2, 2022.

Alexa Bliss becomes number one contender to WWE Raw Women’s title

Alexa Bliss is the new number one contender to the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Bliss defeated Bayley in a number one contender’s bout on Monday’s Raw to become the top contender to Bianca Belair’s title.

After the match, Belair offered Bliss a handshake. Bliss offered a hug instead, then used the hug to tease hitting Belair with Sister Abigail, as an alignment between Bliss and Bray Wyatt continues to be hinted at on WWE television.

In addition, Wyatt’s logo flashed on the arena video wall as Bliss celebrated in the ring following her victory.

Bliss and Bayley won triple threat matches on last week’s Raw show to set up the number one contender’s match this week.

The new number one contender to Austin Theory’s United States Championship is also to be decided on Raw, as Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley square off in a top contender’s bout.

No date has been announced for Belair vs. Bliss for the Raw Women’s title to this point.

Ladder stipulation added to Raw Women’s title match at WWE Extreme Rules

A ladder match stipulation has been added to the Raw Women’s Championship match at Extreme Rules.

The opening of Monday’s Raw had Bayley and Bianca Belair confronting one another after Belair was attacked last week by Bayley. The end of the segment had Bayley challenging Belair to a ladder match at Extreme Rules, which takes place October 8. Belair accepted.

Belair later faced IYO SKY in a singles match, with the rest of Damage Control in SKY’s corner and Asuka & Alexa Bliss in Belair’s corner. Belair proceeded to pick up the win, posing with the title after the match.

Bayley has continued to feud with Belair following Clash at the Castle, when Bayley pinned Belair in a six-woman tag match. Damage Control ended Raw last week laying out Belair, Asuka, and Bliss after Bayley defeated Bliss in a singles match. Bayley told Belair that she wanted the Raw Women’s title, and the match would take place at Extreme Rules.

Here is the latest lineup for Extreme Rules, which will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:

  • Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair vs. Bayley in a ladder match
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship: Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match
  • Strap match: Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross

Open challenge for Women’s Championship added to WWE Raw

An open challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship has been added to Raw.

During Friday’s SmackDown, it was announced that Belair will put her Raw Women’s Championship on Monday’s show. It will be her first defense since SummerSlam, where she successfully retained the championship against Becky Lynch.

On this past Monday’s Raw, Bayley came out and bragged about being the one that pinned Beliar at Clash at the Castle in the six-woman tag match. Belair came to the ring and offered to put the Raw Women’s Championship on the line right then and there. Bayley rejected, saying it was Labor Day and wasn’t going to work. Bayley told Belair that when she is ready, she would challenge for the title.

Here is the current lineup for Monday’s Raw:

  • Bianca Belair’s open challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship
  • Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah vs. IYO SKY & Dakota Kai for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
  • Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio
  • Johnny Gargano’s in-ring return

Miz TV with Logan Paul announced for WWE Raw

Logan Paul is set to be the guest on Miz TV this coming Monday on Raw.

Additionally, a rematch for the Raw Women’s Championship has been announced, with Bianca Belair defending against Carmella.

It was already announced that Paul would be on this Monday’s show. Paul appeared in a series of videos during Raw on Monday saying that he wanted a match against The Miz at SummerSlam, insisting he wanted to confront Miz after his attack at WrestleMania 38. Miz on Raw rejected Paul’s claims, saying Paul was just trying to get attention and still went with the idea that he and Paul should reunite as a team.

Carmella defeated Bianca Belair last week on Raw via countout after Becky Lynch distracted Belair on the outside. In the ring, Carmella celebrated with the title, thinking she had won it. Belair then laid her out.

Set for Raw this coming Monday:

  • Raw Women’s title: Bianca Belair defends against Carmella
  • Miz TV with Logan Paul

Bianca Belair wins Raw Women’s title at WWE WrestleMania 38

Bianca Belair is the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

She defeated Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas to win the title on Saturday. Belair is now a two-time Women’s Champion in WWE, having won the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37 and now the Raw title at WrestleMania 38.

Lynch’s reign with a championship ends at 223 days. She won the Smackdown title from Belair at SummerSlam 2021 in an impromptu match after returning to WWE following a 15-month absence. Lynch would then exchange the Smackdown title for the Raw belt during a segment on the December 17, 2021 edition of Smackdown. She then held the Raw championship for 162 days before losing it to Belair at Mania.

Belair has now won a championship at two straight WrestleManias. She defeated Sasha Banks to win the Smackdown title at WrestleMania 37 last year. During her 133-day reign, she defended the belt twice against Bayley and twice against Carmella before losing it to Lynch.

Becky Lynch vs. Lita title match set for WWE Elimination Chamber

Lita will challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber.

The match was made official in the closing segment of tonight’s Raw.

Ronda Rousey returned to the show, teasing that she would reveal her WrestleMania opponent after winning Saturday’s women’s Royal Rumble match. Instead, Rousey hit Lynch with a judo thrown and told her that she will reveal whether she will challenge Lynch or SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair on Friday’s SmackDown episode.

After Rousey left Lynch laying, Lita’s music hit, and the WWE Hall of Famer entered, wearing Becky Lynch merchandise.

She said that while Rousey may not be ready to challenge Lynch, Lita was always up for a challenge, then challenged Lynch. After initially begging off, Lynch agreed to  the match for Saudi Arabia.

An elimination chamber match for the WWE Championship was also announced on tonight’s show. Here is the lineup so far:

WWE Elimination Chamber, Saturday, February 12, 12 p.m. Eastern time —

  • WWE Championship elimination chamber match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. AJ Styles vs. Riddle vs. Austin Theory
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lita

Liv Morgan earns WWE Raw Women’s title match

Liv Morgan has earned a future title match against Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

During a fatal five way match that took place on tonight’s Raw between Morgan, Carmella, Queen Zelina, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair, Morgan rolled up Carmella to win the match. The finish had Belair ready to pin Vega, but Doudrop, who was not in the match, interfered and attacked Belair. This led Carmella to try and cover Belair, but Morgan broke up the pin and rolled up Carmella.

After the match, Morgan stood on top of the announcer’s table, face to face with Becky Lynch, who was on commentary. The two also had a staredown last week on Raw after Lynch successfully defended the Raw Womens’ Championship against Belair.

Earlier in the show, when the fatal five way was announced to the women’s roster backstage, Doudrop spoke up to officials Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce, upset that Bianca Belair was in the match after she had lost her recent title matches. The segment ended with everyone arguing over who should be in the match.

Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley set for next week’s Raw

Charlotte Flair will be defending her Women’s Championship against Bayley at next week’s Raw in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The match was announced during tonight’s episode of the show as it was noted that Bayley would be getting the title shot due to her pinning Charlotte in a mixed six-person tag match last week. That win occurred on the post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw to keep their feud alive after Charlotte retained her title against Bayley at the Alamodome.

On tonight’s Raw, the interconnected storyline between Charlotte, Bayley, Nia Jax, and Sasha Banks continued as Charlotte’s interference cost Bayley her match against Jax.

Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns was also set up for later on Raw during the opening segment of the show, with Joe officially being added to the Raw roster on TV. The match will be Joe’s first since making his main roster debut by attacking Seth Rollins last week. Rollins’ knee injury will also be addressed later in the night.
