**********

NXT is back on the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.

Opening the show is a grudge match set up a few weeks ago after an injury angle. Kelani Jordan attacked Lola Vice in a bout on a previous episode, and Jordan ran in to smash Vice’s right hand with a ladder. That would cost Vice a chance to become the number one contender for a championship. Vice is seemingly out for retribution.

Vice enters the sound stage on this episode for her match against Jordan, and Vice is wearing a brace on her right hand. The hand injury would be a story in the opener on tonight’s card. Vice also enters with her AAA Mixed Tag Team title belt, which she holds alongside Mr. Iguana.

Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan

Their fight begins immediately, with Vice meeting Jordan on the floor to brawl. The hand injury played into the match from the start, with Vice mostly using kicks as strikes. Vice tries to strike with her left hand, but Jordan blocks it. Jordan then targets the injured hand. Vice fights back with kicks, but Jordan keeps targeting the hand.

The fighting spilled outside again, where Jordan takes off the brace on Vice’s injured hand. The show cuts to a commercial break with Vice in peril. Back from the break with Jordan still working the hand. Vice fires up with a comeback throwing left hands and kicks. Vice on a roll with an Umaga splash and her take on the Rikishi stink face. V

ice eventually gets near falls on Jordan, before Jordan powders. Vice follows her and leaps off the apron with a seated senton. That got them on the floor for a stunt where Vice crashes through a section of the set on a missed spinning back fist with her injured hand.

Trying to capitalize on the stunt, Jordan goes for a 450 splash in the ring. Vice counters and traps Jordan in a triangle. Jordan escapes and applies an arm bar, and Jordan cranks on the injured hand. Vice taps out and Jordan wins via submission.

Match result: Kelani Jordan defeated Lola Vice via submission.

— Tony D’Angelo cuts a promo on Darkstate. D’Angelo signals out Cutler James, and he wants to make sure the leader (Dion Lennox) is watching tonight. D’Angelo says they took everything from him, and he starts taking back tonight against Cutler James.

— NXT Champion Joe Hendry attacks Ricky Saints as Saints is arriving at the building. Security pours out to separate them.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews Shiloh Hill about his match tonight with Ethan Page. They are interrupted by Hank & Tank, who hype up Hill as he cuts a promo. As Hill leaves, Tank remarks to Hank that Hill is “weird”, but “good weird.”

Joe Hendry and Ricky Saints set up NXT title match

“Stone Cold” Joe Hendry storms to the ring with his NXT title belt. Hendry gets the house microphone and calls out Ricky Saints for jumping him last week. Hendry is not in the mood for singing and dancing. He is in “kicking Ricky Saints’ ass all around the arena type of mood!”

Hendry wants to settle this right here and now. Saints appears on a perch overlooking the ring, and Saints cuts a promo on Hendry. Saints rants about Hendry not being good enough. Saints basically says Hendry’s reign brings down the prestige of the NXT title.

“This place creates and builds stars, yet we have a meme as champion,” Saints says.

Saints then heels on the studio audience by saying they can relate to Hendry because he is a loser. Being an “ever-man” does not make Hendry worthy of being champion. Saints rants that having talent and being attractive makes you a champion.

Hendry tries to salvage the segment by saying he deals in facts. Hendry is the NXT champ, and that makes him the best. Saints retorts that Hendry is best at marketing, and Saints claims Hendry parlayed that into success. Saints mocks Hendry as this segment is getting long in the tooth. Saints eventually challenges Hendry to a NXT title match at NXT Vengeance Day on March 7. Hendry of course accepts the challenges.

Hendry concludes the segment with a final promo threatening to kick Saints’ ass at Vengeance Day.

— NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame talks strategy with The Culling on Dame keeping the title for a long time. Shawn Spears and Niko Vance also talk about their goal of becoming number one contenders for the tag team titles.

Cuter James vs. Tony D’Angelo

James put up a fight, but not much of one. This was a glorified squash, with James getting some brief offense before D’Angelo pummels him. D’Angelo with a series of German suplexes, followed by cutting off James with a spear. D’Angelo then delivers a spinebuster, and he covers James for a three count. Short match, but good for getting D’Angelo over as a killer.

Match result: Tony D’Angelo defeated Cutler James via pinfall.

Dion Lennox ambushes D’Angelo after the match, but D’Angelo fights off both Lennox and James. D’Angelo smashes Lennox on the barricade. D’Angelo then sends Lennox crashing into the ring steps. The steps are separated as D’Angelo looks to smash Lennox’s leg with the metal step. James pulls Lennox to safety as D’Angelo comes crashing down with the step. Referees pour out to restore order in a pull-apart brawl.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page cuts a promo on Myles Borne in a locker room confrontation. Page says Borne had enough chances at taking Page’s title. Page insists there is nothing that would convince him of that, and Borne says “we’ll see about that” before he leaves.

The skit continues with Ricky Saints entering the locker room to chat with Page and The Vanity Project.

— Up next is a four-way tag match to determine the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship. OTM and Swipe Right (who were only billed as “The Vanity Project”) enter before a commercial break. The Culling are in the ring after the break. Hank & Tank then get a full entrance.

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) vs. Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes with Jackson Drake) vs. The Culling (Niko Vance & Shawn Spears) vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in a fatal four way number one contender’s match

Lots of action in the four-way bout. The match goes through a commercial break. OTM with stereos chokeslams send Swipe Right to the outside as the show cuts to commercials. Back from the break, and bedlam ensues.

They build to a spot with four superplexes simultaneously, or nearly simultaneous. High spots galore at times in the match with so many wrestlers in there.

Spears with a C4 (DVD) finisher and a pining attempt, but Jackson Drakes interferes at ringside to break the count. Spears grabs Drake, only for OTM save Drake by stomping Spears. Hank & Tank then do a stunt with OTM where they crash through the announce desk. Vance speared Drake on the floor. Meanwhile, Smokes shoves Baylor, who is on rubber legs. Baylor collapses on top of Spears, and Baylor pins him to win the match.

Match result: Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor won a fatal four way tag team match to become the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Baylor & Smokes get their title shot next Tuesday on NXT.

— Keanu Carver is the focus of personality profile. Carver meets Sean Legacy in a singles match next week on NXT.

— NXT Champion Joe Hendry is talking with General Manager Robert Stone, and Hendry wants to know the whereabouts of Ricky Saints. Stone says he had Saints kicked out of the building for the rest of the night, and Stone asks Hendry to also leave.

— Zaria cuts a fiery promo in Sol Ruca’s face before saying Ruca can “go to hell!” Their split is complete I guess, or is it? After all that, they definitive split comes in a backstage skit before a commercial break. Sure. Whatever. Stay tuned.

— The Fatal Influence trio enters the sound stage for an in-ring promo with NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne. She rambles and rants about Sol Ruca. Just what this show needs is another talking segment after that confrontation with Hendry and Saints that seems to last hours.

Jayne brags about herself as the champ, as does Fallon Henley. Lainey Reid looks on in approval. They roast Sol Ruca, who the comes out to confront them. Ruca is set to challenge Jayne for the women’s title in an upcoming bout next week on NXT.

Ruca remarks that deep down in her heart, Jayne knows that Ruca is better than her. With that, Jayne slaps Ruca across the face. The heel trio then beat down Ruca. Zaria runs down to seemingly make a save, but Zaria pauses. Fatal Influence think that Zaria wants to attack Ruca. They hold Ruca for Zaria, but it was a swerve. Zaria attacks the heel trio instead, and Zaria cleans house.

After Zaria press slams Jayne out of the ring, Jayne is caught by Reid and Henley. The heels are down selling on the floor. Zaria and Ruca then hug in the ring. What?! They broke up, did they not? Now they are back together as a team? Make it make sense.

Eli Knight vs. Elio Lefleur in the finals of the Speed tournament

They go Broadway, albeit shorter than a typical Broadway in pro wrestling. The wrestled to a time-limit draw in an exciting three minutes. NXT GM Robert Stone comes out to rule they both are getting a title shot because they had such a great match. I cannot argue with that.

Stone announces a triple threat match for the WWE Speed Championship with Jasper Troy defending against both Knight and Lefleur. For the special gimmick match, the time limit is extended to seven minutes. The triple threat title match is set for next week.

Match result: Eli Knight and Elio Lefleur wrestled to a time limit draw in the tournament final.

— Myles Borne and Shiloh Hill have words in a backstage skit.

— Uriah Connors and Charlie Dempsey talk about the offer from Lexis King. Connors tries to convince Dempsey to join the faction. After Dempsey leaves, in walks King and company. The main point of the skit was announcing Connors has a singles match against his former stablemate, Kale Dixon, next week on NXT.

— In another skit, Robert Stone is with WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley and potential challenger Blake Monroe. Stone announces a speed tournament starts next week to determine the next challenger, and the tournament opens with Monroe against Thea Haul. That plays on past history between Hail and Monroe (which involved an unexpected title change).

— Darkstate cut a promos on their enemies.

— Sol Ruca and Zaria are talking backstage in skit where they make up as a team. Ruca asks Zaria what changed her mind from earlier, and Zaria says she realizes they make a great team. They would not be where they are without each other. Zaria thinks that things have not been the same since Ruca’s knee injury cost her a double championship. If they want to get back to how things were between them, Zaria insists that Ruca must win the women’s title.

— Myles Borne storms past Ruca and Zaria. They ask if he is okay, and Borne remarks he knows what he is going to do now. With that comes the entrance of Shiloh Hill into the sound stage, and the main event is next.

Ethan Page vs. Shiloh Hill for the NXT North American Championship

Vanity Project enters the scene at ringside as the show cuts to a commercial break. Page is in control as the show returns from the break. The heel faction at ringside pulls back the floor mats to expose concrete. Page attempts a Razor’s Edge on the floor, but Hill escapes.

Late in the match, Hill pulls out his false teeth. That is like Jerry Lawler pulling down the strap on his singlet. Business is about to pick up, as Jim Ross might say. Page poses as Hill pops up to pose behind him. This is such riveting television.

Comeback by Hill as he hulks up on Page. Jackson Drake jumps on the apron , only to get knocked out. Ricky Smokes is sent barreling into the ring, and Hull sends him packing. Brad Baylor then takes a back drop on the floor. Drake is also side-slammed by Hill on the broadcast booth. Page then rushes in to cut off Hill by giving him Twisted Grin (Twist of Fate) on the exposed concrete floor. Hill takes another Twisted Grin in the ring, and Page covers him for the deciding pinfall. And still…

Match result: NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defeated Shiloh Hill via pinfall to retain his title.

In a post-match angle, Page and Vanity Project attack Hill. The heel faction is stomping on Hill when Myles Borne runs in for a save. Borne cleans house on the heels. Hill does a flip dive to the outside despite having been knocked unconscious on the floor and attacked by a gang. He was a house of fire again.

In the ring, Borne is pounding on Page. In between punching Page, Borne yells at him that Borne wants a title shot. Hill slid a metal folding chair into the ring, and Borne looks to Pillmanize the ankle of Page. Borne threatens to stomp on Page’s foot with it sandwiched in the chair. In fear, Page agrees to defend the title against Borne next week.

Borne turns away and Page smirks. Page yells he knew Borne would not do it. That prompts Borne to slowly turn around before jumping into the air and coming down with a stomp. Pillmanized in the chair, Page screams in agony after Borne stomps on the chair. The show ends with Borne holding the title belt while standing over Page, who writhing in agony.

*************

It’s a Tuesday, which means it’s a new era in NXT and we are ready to kick it off!

After a recap of the events of last week, his name was said, and he appeared, with the NXT crowd firmly believing in Joe Hendry!

The new NXT Champion came down to the ring to address the crowd. To start things off, Hendry said his own name, but a second Joe Hendry did not appear. The crowd chanted “you deserve it” as Hendry confessed that he had a small moment of doubt in the ladder match in which he won the title.

Hendry said that the crowd believing in him gave him the energy to climb the ladder and win the title. Hendry listed his accomplishments in wrestling as steps towards winning the NXT title. Now that he’s champion though, the climb doesn’t stop and Hendry said that he and everyone else are going to take NXT to new heights.

Suddenly, he was interrupted by The Vanity Project. The three living Ken Dolls came to the ring and Evolve Champion Jackson Drake addressed Hendry, suggesting he start a podcast, because Hendry is mid at best.

Drake reminded Hendry that The Vanity Project took him out once because he simply doesn’t belong. Hendry rightly pointed out that they failed as the crowd chanted “shut the hell up” at Drake.

Hendry said that he has no problem kicking Drake’s ass and defending the NXT title and then a brawl broke out. Hendry fell victim to the damn numbers game as the Vanity Project beat up Hendry 3-on-1. Drake picked up the NXT belt and mocked Hendry’s pose with it.

The scene changed to Sol Ruca and Zaria in the locker room getting ready for their match tongiht. Ruca said that they need to get back to ZaRuca being fun. Zaria said that Ruca has had a ton of chances at the NXT Women’s title so why cant it be her time? Zaria stomped off with Ruca looking concerned.

-After a break, Robert Stone was approached by Keanu Carver. Carver was mad that Drake seemed like he was getting a shot at Joe Hendry before he did. Stone said HBK wants chaos and he’s going to give it to him. Carver went to stomp away, but Stone stopped him for a second before letting him go.

Jaida Parker vs Blake Monroe

Parker cut a short promo on her way to the ring about how she’s great. This match would be Monroe’s first real match since losing the NXT Women’s North American Championship to Thea Hail back in December.

Parker jumped Monroe right off the bat, shoving her into the corner. Monroe threw her robe at her and slid out of the ring. Parker followed, but Monroe went right back in to gain the high ground. The two took turns whipping each other into the corners until Parker landed a German suplex for a two count.

Parker locked in a body scissor hold the Monroe struggled to get out of. Finally, Monroe rolled through to the ropes that loosened Parker’s grip. Monroe brought Parker down with a Thez press, then threw her into the turnbuckle, face first.

At this moment, it was announced that Joe Hendry would face Jackson Drake for the NXT Title tonight!

Parker and Monroe fought to the outside with Monroe smacking Parker’s head off the announce table. Monroe stomped her and threw Parker back into the ring. Monroe hit a suplex into a cover, but Parker kicked out. Monroe took off her elbow pads and went for another suplex, but she couldn’t get Parker up and transitioned into a modified DDT.

Monroe clubbed the dazed Parker and tried for another suplex, but Parker contered it. Monroe went off the ropes with a sling blade and locked on a crossface. Parker got out of it and Monroe worked her over in the corner.

Monroe hit a dropkick and went for another, but Parker caught her and laid in a back elbow. Parker stared throwing shoulder blocks and a samoan drop before sending Monroe to the corner. She stacked her up on the ropes and dropped her posterior onto Monroe.

Monroe escaped the ring and Parker followed, throwing hands. She sent Monroe into the steps, but Monroe threw a head butt at her as the ref counted both women out.

Match Result: Jaida Parker vs Blake Monroe went to a countout no contest

Parker continued to beat on Monroe, throwing her around and back into the ring as NXT security once again proved how inept they are. Parker kicked one of the guards where the sun doesn’t shine and kicked another through the barricade at ringside. Monroe escaped into the crowd as the segment ended.

-A Tatum Paxley vignette aired next, in which she lamented losing control in her feud with Izzi Dame. She promised to walk out of their feud as a new Tatum Paxley, the one that she wants to be.

-Back from break, Vic Joseph and Booker T noticed that the main character from the upcoming movie “Psycho Killer” was sitting in the audience. He wasn’t doing anything. He was just sitting there, much to the confusion of the kid in the seat next to him.

Speed Tournament Match: Eli Knight vs Josh Briggs

The winner of this match would advance to the finals of the tournament and take on LeFleur.

Knight had the advantage over Briggs as he has a much fast, lighter style. Knight driopkicked Briggs out of the ring and then one-hop moonsaulted onto him on the outside. Briggs went back into the ring and delivered a clothesline and back breaker as the clock passed two minutes.

Briggs kept the clubbing strategy going, heading for a chokeslam, but Knight rolled through into a superkick. The final minute began as Knight hit a second moonsault and pinned BRiggs 1-2-3 to advance to the finals.

Match Result: Eli Knight defeated Josh Briggs

After the match, LeFleur came down to the ring to congratulate Knight, but so did Speed Champion Jasper Troy, who if you don’t know, is a very big man. He took out both Knight and LeFleur and the scen switched to DarkState heading to the ring.

-Back from commercial, Robert Stone approached Lola Vice who was getting tended to in the medical area. He and Vice discussed her upcoming match. with Kelani Jordan, and then someone ran in and said Stone needed to come to another area. Jordan appeared and attacked Vice as the camera switched to Keanu Carver destroying the backstage area.

-In the ring Dion Lennox said he’s coming for the NXT Title no matter who wins. Cutler James gabbed the mic and said that Tony D’Angelo is a fool for calling them out as they have taken him down before and they will do it again. Osiris Griffin then reminded the Culling that they needed to stay out of DarkState’s business. Saquon Shugars echoed that and then Shawn Spears and Nico appeared on a balcony.

Spears and Nico said that they know DarkState’s weaknesses and they are the hunters, with DarkState being the hunted. Then the lights went out and spotlights lit up OTM in the crowd. Nima and Price said that everyone should watch out because they aren’t missing twice.

Then Hank and Tank came out saying that they are the ones who deserve a shot at DarkState’s NXT Tag Titles. Everyone started brawling then, leaving Cutler and Lennox in the ring. Tony D’Angelo appeared out of nowhere and dropped them both, ending a tornado of a segment that made very little sense. Classic WWE Promo Parade.

-Back from break Kelly Kincaid asked Robert Stone what he was going to do about the tag scene. He quickly made a tripe threat match between Hank & Tank, the Culling and OTM for next week. He then went into his office where Shiloh was. Before he could say much of anything, Ethan Page showed up. Stone said that he wants to have a good relationship with Page.

Page liked that and noted that he is one away from breaking the title defence record for the NXT North American Championship. Stone said that he should face Miles Bourne. PAge shrugged that off and Shiloh wandered back in with a machete. Stone made the match for next week, Shiloh vs Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship.

-Backstage, Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey discussed their upcoming match. They said that no matter who gets the pin, they are getting the win tonight.

-Back from break, because we haven’t heard from them enough, DarkState was shown in the back yelling about various members on the NXT Roster. Cutler promised to handle the D’Angelo problem next week and reminded everyone to stay focused on their plans.

Hank & Tank vs The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor)

Hank and Tank came back down to the ring after the Promo Parade of earlier and The Vanity Project came back down after beeing thrown out in the previous match. Lots of coming and going in this episode.

Match Result: The Vanity Project defeated Hank & Tank

-Back from break, Sean Legacy was interviewed. He was beaten up by Keanu Carver earlier and last week, Carver put him through a barricade. Legacy stated emphatically that he wants to fight Carver. He issued a challenge for two weeks from now.

The Vanity Project then approached Robert Stone, demanding to be included in the tag match next week. Stone made the match a fatal four way and then Miles Borne showed up to complain that he didn’t get a North American title shot. Stone said that maybe it’s time Borne did something “out of character.” That seemed to resonate as the segment ended.

It was also announced that Cutler James vs Tony D’Angelo will take place next week.

ZaRuca (Zaria & Sol Ruca) vs The WrenQCC (Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair)

Finally, the previous segment ended and the Main Event began. Whoever scored the pin in this tag team match will become the #1 Contender to Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship.

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience on a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.

The show begins with Shawn Michaels making Robert Stone the new interim general manager of NXT. Stone enters the office formerly belonging to Ava, as HBK wanted to see him. HBK remarked how Stone always does whatever is asked of him, and Stone replied he did it because he loves NXT.

Michaels then informs Stone he is the interim GM. Michaels says he knows this place can be crazy, but he likes it like crazy. With that, HBK wished Stone luck before leaving the office set.

No mention of Ava.

After the skit, a video package hypes the men’s championship ladder match later on. Opening the show from the sound stage is a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. On commentary, Vic Joseph noted is the first time this particular version of the North American title is ever being defended in a triple threat.

Izzi Dame (with The Culling) vs. Thea Hail vs. Lola Vice in a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

The title bout goes through a commercial break. Thea Hail and Lola Vice shine before the show cuts to commercials, with Hail first jumping off the ring steps with a flying head scissors on Shawn Spears at ringside. Hail ducks a kick from Dame, and Vice leaps off the ring apron with a meteora on Vice. Hail circles back to drop Vice with a tope suicida. The title belt is on a pedestal at ringside, and Hail runs over to bite the title belt as the show heads into the break.

The show returns from the break with combo where Dame has Vice on her shoulders as Hail leaps off the ropes with a neckbreaker on Vice as Dame falls back like a Samoan drop. Vice then fires up with a series of kicks and hip attacks. More tandem spots, leading to several near falls.

Hail with another rally as she shakes the ropes like Ultimate Warrior before springboarding off the middle rope into the waiting arms of Vice, who catches Hail in sleeper hold. Dame breaks up the hold and they fight on. Hail went for a Kimura lock a moment later, but Vice escapes and is able to again apply a sleeper. Dame breaks up the sleeper, only to take a DDT from Hail.

Kelani Jordan suddenly ran down to ringside and attacked Vice. Jordan pulls a ladder partially out from underneath the ring, and Jordan uses the ladder to smash Vice’s right hand. Vice sells big as referees pour out to eject Jordan from ringside.

Meanwhile in the ring, Hail as Dame locked in a Kimura. Dame escapes the submission hold, and Dame with a gutwrench Liger bomb on Hail. Dame then pins Hail for a three count. Good opener in a match that appeared very choreographed at times. And still…

Match result: NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame defeated Thea Hail and Lola Vice in a triple threat match to retain her title.

— In a locker room skit, Zaria was upset at Sol Ruca for not telling her about being in the Royal Rumble. Ruca wants to tell Zaria everything, but Ruca was told not to say anything. Zaria is understandable, and she switched focus to their upcoming title bout.

— Back from commercial for a skit that sets up a tag team match for later on. Chase U’s Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon are confronted by Lexis King & Stacks, along with Arianna Grace, and a match is made for tonight.

Tony D’Angelo explains his actions

Tony D’Angelo is in the ring to “clear the ring” after seven months of him talking to the audience. The studio audience starts chanting for him before D’Angelo briefly runs down his history in NXT. He had family, friend and people that had his back — but that was taken from him.

D’Angelo goes on to say he needed to regroup after Darkstate ruined his life. He had to set in a dark room but himself to remember who he was, which is a National Champion and Division I All-American. He also remembered he was good at bouncing people off the mat.

D’Angelo talks about the mystic after his recent return, where no one knows what he is doing. Tony calls this a selfish time in a selfish business, and that aligns exactly with his plans. He came back for two reasons. One reason is he wanted Darkstate to know he was coming for them. This is about punishment, not revenge. The second reason we will see when he is done with Darkstate.

This was great for a three-minute match. The closing minute was especially good with them trading counters and near falls. LeFleur delivers a tilt-a-whirl Rocker Dropper, and he hooks a leg to cover Dempsey for a three count with seconds remaining in the time limit.

Match result: Elio LeFleur defeated Charlie Dempsey via pinfall to advance in the Speed tournament.

The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance with Ash by Elegance & The Personal Concierge) vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship

TNA authority figure Daria Rae (who is formerly Sonya Deville in WWE) returns to NXT as she watches the title bout near ringside.

The story of the match was dissension between Zaria and Ruca. Zaria refuses to tag out, and they trade blind tags, while also arguing and shoving each other. Their future is in question, especially after the finish.

The match goes through a commercial break. Ash by Elegance jumps on the apron to cause a distraction, which allows The Elegance Brand to gain the upper hand as the show cuts to a commercial break. When the show returns from the break, heat on Zaria as she is worked over and separated from her corner. Zaria comes back and refuses to tag out.

For some reason, Sean Legacy is seen getting ready in the locker room ahead of the main event ladder match in a split-screen in the middle of the match. Why?

Double down in the ring and Zaria uses the ropes to pull herself to her feet, which allows Ruca to make a blind tag. Ruca then runs wild and gets a few near falls. Meanwhile, the studio audience is doing the wave.

Heather by Elegance with a moonsault press, and M by Elegance goes for her own moonsault. No water in the pool, though. Ruca rolled out of the way, and Ruca struggles to her feet. Zaria makes a bling tag, leading to her and Ruca getting into a shoving match.

The challengers argue as they both deliver stereo spears on the champs. Ruca signals for their finisher, so Zaria hoists M by Elegance on her shoulders. Ruca went to follow with a Sol Snatcher, but M escapes their clutches. Ruca then inadvertently catches her own partner, Zaria, with a Sol Snatcher. Ash by Elegance pulls Ruca out of the ring and sends her crashing into the ring steps.

Bow and arrow hold on Zaria by M as Heather leaps off the top rope with a double foot stomp. Heather then covers Zaria for the deciding pinfall.

Match result: Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance defeated Sol Ruca & Zaria via pinfall when Heather covered Zaria to retain their titles.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page cuts a promo where he gives The Vanity Project a pep talk of sorts.

— In a skit from social media, Jaida Parker is attacked by Blake Monroe at a merchandise booth outside the building.

Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors with Andre Chase) vs. Lexis King & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo (with Arianna Grace)

Dixon & Connors got their time to shine, but this match was more about getting King & Stacks over as a team. Dixon & Connors looked great in the ring, but they drop the match to the new heel team. Dixon fires up in the closing moments. He goes for a moonsault off the top rope, but Stacks gets his feet up to block it. King tags in and delivers a V-trigger, and King follows with The Coronation. King pins Dixon to win the match.

Connors backs away and apparently quite Chase U in an angle after the match. He leaves Chase U and exits just behind the heels.

Match result: Lexis King & Stacks defeated Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors via pinfall when King pinned Dixon.

— The trio of Fatal Influence are in the ring for a promo where NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne talks about her time in the Royal Rumble. Jayne cuts a promo on Sol Ruca, who eliminated Jayne in the Rumble match by tossing her out. Jayne is cutting her promo on Ruca when she is interrupted by Zaria.

Zaria gets in the ring to confront Jayne and Fatal Influence. Zaria says Ruca had plenty of shots at the title, and this was Zaria’s turn. They are all soon interrupted by the team of Wren Sinclair & WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey. Everyone is bickering in the ring when Sol Ruca joins the ongoing argument.

Ruca makes a crack at Zaria about not being friends anymore, and they briefly bicker. Eventually, out comes Robert Stone for his first announcement and ruling as GM. In his first act at interim GM, he books a tag match for next week with Sinclair & Grey against Ruca & Zaria. Whomever scores the winning fall also earns a title match against Jacy Jayne in Atlanta.

— Kelly Kincaid interviews Kelani Jordan, who boasts about breaking Lola Vice’s hand in an injury angle from earlier tonight.

— Ricky Saints gets a full entrance before a commercial break. Other participants for the ladder match get their entrances during a split-screen as commercials run.

— After the commercial break is a skit where Lexis King, Stacks and Grace approach Charlie Dempsey to ask if he thought about their recent offer to join the new faction.

— Joe Hendry also gets a full entrance after the break.

Ricky Saints vs. Shiloh Hill vs. Sean Legacy vs. Jackson Drake vs. Dion Lennox vs. Keanu Carver vs. Joe Hendry in a ladder match for the vacant NXT Championship

Keanu Carver starts off strong, and ladders soon come into play with several taking bumps on the ladder from the opening moments onward. Many ladders of various sizes are set up around ring for easy access.

Joe Hendry uses the ladder as a battering ram before he spins around with it to do his pose. He tries to climb towards the title belt hanging above the ring, only for Hendry to get tripped up by Jackson Drake. Time for Drake’s turn to take a bump off the ladder as Hendry tips it over. Hendry then powerbombs Drake over the ropes into the arms of the other participants on the floor. Hendry follows up by hurdling the top rope for a dive outside the ring. The show cuts to a commercial break with a slow motion replay of Hendry’s hurdle over the ropes.

Carver rips a gimmicked ladders apart in a feat of strength in the middle of the match. The ripped apart ladder would play into another stunt moments later. Sean Legacy and Dion Lennox get their chances to shine in spots after the show returns from the break. They are fighting on a ladder when Shiloh Hill uses the two sections of the gimmicked ladder as a stilts. Hill would go on to take a Doomsday Device at the hands of Carver and Lennox.

Lennox is climbing the ladder when Saints tries to stop him. Saints takes a spinebuster on a ladder. Hendry thwarts Lennox and give him a chokeslam on a ladder. Hendry climbs and Drake again stops him. Legacy takes a wicked swanton from Drake, and Drake climbs he ladder. Saints goes to stop him, only for Carver to enter the ring and mow down Saints.

Carver stumbles over the ropes in a spot. Drake then does a tornillo splash off the top turnbuckle to the floor, just before the show cuts to its final commercial break. They continue running through high spots during a split-screen.

After the show returns to full screen, Carver is using a ladder to smash everyone. Hill leaps off the ring steps for senton that sandwiches Carver in the ladder. In a bizarre spot, Hill celebrates by taking out this false teeth and throwing them on the ground, which apparently similar to a Southern babyface pulling down the straps on is singlet.

Hill follows up with a running knee strike on Carver, and Hill smashes him with the ladder. Everyone works together to pile ladders on top of Carver. They bury Carver underneath ladders. Hill does the Terry Funk spo of airplane spinning a ladder in a crazed manner while other wrestlers bump into the ladder. Hill eats a shining wizard from Drake, and Drake builds a ladder bridge. That backfires on him as Legacy springboards into a 450 splash that drives Drake into a ladder.

Legacy and Lennox are fighting on one ladder when Hill sets up a second ladder to climb. Hill and Drake climb the second ladder. Hill and Drake takes bumps off the ladder, while Lennox and Legacy remain on the other ladder. Legacy hangs from the ladder like its Ultimate-X before taking a bump off the ladder. Hendry breaks up Lennox’s climb with Lennox fingertips away from the title belt.

Hendry and Lennox end up fighting outside the ring, where Carver awakens from his slumber under the pile of ladders. Carver mows down wrestlers with shots from the ladder and spears on the floor. Carver sends Drake over the barricade into the arms of plants in the front row. In another stunt, Legacy is shoulder tackled through a gimmicked section of wall by a charging Carver.

Ricky Saints rushes to climb a ladder in the ring as Carver rushes back inside the squared circle. Two ladders are still side-by-side from earlier in the match. Now, Carver and Saints climb opposing ladders. They fight atop the ladders.

Saints kicks over the other ladder, and Carver takes a big bump on a ladder bridged between the ring apron and the broadcast booth. Carver crushes the ladder as Saints smirks atop the ladder in the ring. Saints senses victory, only for him to be surprised by Hendry shooting up the other side of the ladder.

Saints and Hendry are fighting over the title belt as they unhook from the hanger. Tug-of-war with the belt as he hangs above ring. They each tease falling off the ladder until Hendry lightly hits Saints with the belt, and Saints does a Nestea Plunge off the standing ladder to a ladder bridge. Nasty bump for Saints as his head snaps on the top rope as he takes a hard bump on the ladder.

Hendry grabs the title belt, and new…

Match result: Joe Hendry wins a ladder match to capture the NXT Championship

The Joe Hendry era of NXT has begun. He is your new champion of the men’s division. All hail the king.

WWE NXT live results: NXT Championship ladder match qualifiers

The remaining qualifiers set for the show are Joe Hendry vs. Jackson Drake of The Vanity Project, Keanu Carver vs. Andre Chase, and Myles Borne vs. Dion Lennox of DarkState.

The NXT Tag Team Championships will also be defended on Tuesday’s show. DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Saquon Sugars will put their titles on the line against OTM’s Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. It will be the team’s third title defense, and second on NXT programming, since winning the belts from The Hardys at Halloween Havoc.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern.

***********

NXT is on the air again in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.

Ricky Saints is back on guest commentary, and he joins Vic Joseph and Booker T at the broadcast booth. Saints would leave the desk after the opening match was called into question. The NXT Championship belt still hangs above the ring ahead of the ladder match for the vacant title. The opener was set to be another bout in a round of qualifiers for that ladder match.

The show was supposedly set to open with a qualifying match between Joe Hendry and WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake. However, plans change. Hendry’s theme music rang through the sound stage, but no Hendry. Cut to the back where Hendry is down.

In a Tonya Harding angle, Joe Hendry is in the role of Nancy Kerrigan. Suspiciously, The Vanity Project trio are standing over Hendry, with Drake holding a metal folding chair. NXT General Manger Ava confronts the heel trio, and they deny attacking Hendry. Drake promises her they found him like that.

Referee Vicky D’Errico runs in to tell Ava that Tony D’Angelo arrived at the building. Ava instructs her call for medical attention, and keep an eye on Vanity Project. Ave then gets on a headset to tell the production crew they are going to “move some stuff around” on the card. Ava pitches to the announce desk. Meanwhile, Tony D’Angelo arrives surrounded by security.

Back at the announce desk, Saints says he came to call a singles qualifying match, not a tag team match. Saints leaves before the introductions of the new opening bout, which is also a tag title match.

Darkstate (Saquon Shugars & Osiris Griffin with Cutler James) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) for the NXT Tag Team Championship

In keeping with the story of this bout being rushed to the ring, Saquon Shugars was still adjusting his gear during the entrance of Darkstate. Shugars would go on to play chickens*** heel, and he begs off several times. He also had wacky gear that set him apart from his Darkstate counterparts.

OTM start strong, and the champs backpedal and powder. Darkstate cut off OTM, but OTM soon comes back ahead of a commercial break. Price press slams Shugars over the ropes to the floor, where he was caught by Cutler James and Bronco Nima.

After the show returns from commercials, OTM rally again. They look to go home when in runs the Vanity Project trio. Brad Baylor, of the tag team called Swipe Right, jumps on the apron to distract Price. Baylor gets knocked off the apron, but the distraction is enough for Shugars to roll up Price. Shugars seemingly meant to get his feet on the ropes, but he could not reach them. Nonetheless, the Shuagrs pinned Price.

Match result: NXT Tag Team Champions Darkstate defeated OTM to retain the tag team titles via pinfall.

Melee erupts following the match as Hank & Tank run down to brawl with The Vanity Project. Chase U joins the brawl. In the meantime, Darkstate is celebrating in the ring when they are ambushed by Shawn Spears & Niko Vance of The Culling. They lay out the champs, and there is turmoil and mayhem in the tag team divison.

Jaida Parker vs. Nikkita Lyons

Parker is back in the ring for her first match since returning to NXT. Nikkita Lyons gets some offense, this match was meant to get Parker more over since her return. Parker shines before Lyons gets heat on her. Parker then comes back to deliver the Hip-notic spot. Parker then executes a combo finisher with a pumphandle into a Liger Bomb. Parker covers Lyons for a three count.

Match result: Jaida Parker defeated Nikkita Lyons via pinfall.

After the match, Blake Monroe cuts a promo on Parker from the Titantron. Monroe says she will see Parker very soon. Parker looks into the camera to address Monroe. Parker says Monroe knows where to find her.

— Elio LeFleur, Tavion Heights and Eli Knight are talking in a backstage skit when they are approached by Arianna Grace, Stacks and Lexis King (who is wearing a cowboy hat for some reason). King cuts a promo on Heights, which sets up a match for later.

— The Elegance Brand from TNA cut a promo about being the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

— Zaria is trying to call Sol Ruca but no answer. Thea Hail tries to empathize with Zaria, who scorns Hail by insinuating Hail was given a title. Hail retorts by asserting she earned her shot. This skit sets up a match between Zaria and Hail for later.

— Myles Borne is talking backstage with NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, who continues trying to get Borne to embrace the dark side. Ricky Saints walks in and Borne cuts a promo on him, saying no one wants to hear him on commentary. Borne is headed to the ring for the next bout.

— Vanity Project is backstage pleading their case to Ava. Drake wants to be awarded a spot in the ladder match via forfeit. Ava grants him that wish, but she cautions that Joe Hendry also automatically qualifies for the ladder as well if Hendry is cleared to wrestle.

Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne in a qualifier for the NXT Championship ladder match

Ethan Page watches the match from ringside, and Page coaches and encourages Borne at times. They had a lengthy match that went through a commercial break. Lennox blatantly cheats, but he is often caught by the referee. Borne thwarts the cheating by Lennox as they go home.

Page slides the North American title belt to Borne to use as a weapon, and Page rushes around the ring to jump on the apron and distract the ref. Page meant for Borne to hit Lennox with a belt shot, but the referee catches Borne with the title belt. The ref takes the belt from Borne, and Borne turns around to get scooped up by Lennox for an Emerald Flowsion. Lennox then covers Borne for a three count.

Match result: Dion Lennox defeated Myles Borne via pinfall to quailify for the NXT Championship ladder match.

In a post-match angle, Borne hits Page with the title belt. Page is berating Borne over not “pulling the trigger” when Borne snatches the belt from Page and hits him with it. Page sells like he sees stars while Borne stands over him.

— Ricky Saints is talking with Ava in her office when in walks Tony D’Angelo. Saints cautions Ava to not let anyone interfere in the ladder match next Tuesday. Saints left after glaring at D’Angleo, who comes in to ask Ava why she bailed him out of jail. Ava says despite all of his wild card antics, NXT needs D’Angelo. Ava needs to know if D’Angelo is “in or out” of NXT. D’Angelo will give an answer next week. Ava then forbids D’Angelo from interfering in the ladder match next Tuesday.

Tavion Heights vs. Lexis King

Arianna Grace and Stacks watch the match from ringside, as they are no a faction alongside Lexis King. Heights was shining until King targets an arm. Heights makes a comeback, but he goes sailing over the ropes trying to do a clothesline. He lands on the floor near the feet of Stacks and Grace. Heights is really selling his arm as he goes to slingshot himself back into the ring. King sidesteps him, and Heights crashes to the mat. King capitalizes with a Coronation, and King hooks a leg while pinning Heights.

Match result: Lexis King defeated Tavion Heights via pinfall.

— Hard sell for a deluxe edition of the 2K26 video game with Triple H on the cover, and a skit with Paul Heyman reveals the cover.

— In a personality profile dubbed “NXT Origins”, Finn Balor is featured in a look at his journey through NXT. No mention of New Japan, but Balor says he “just wrestled” before coming to NXT. His time in NXT turned a “wrestler into a superstar” after learning to play to the cameras.

Zaria vs. Thea Hail

NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame joins the announce desk for guest commentary during the match. The bout itself goes through a commercial break. Zaria does her hanging tree spot after the show returns from the break, but Hail soon makes a comeback.

Hail goes for a Kimura lock, only for Zaria to escape and spear Hail. Zaria goes for a finisher, but Hail counters into tornado DDT. Hail and Zaria then bonk heads as they collide. Double down in the ring while at ringside is a run-in by Tatum Paxley.

Paxley flew into the scene with a dive over the announce desk. Paxley with a cross body on Dame, who is still seated in a chair at the desk. Paxley attacks Dame, who attempts to flee by rolling into the ring. Paxley chases her out of the ring and up the aisle. Zaria is distracted by the melee, which allows Hail to roll her up for a three count.

Match result: Thea Hail defeated Zaria via pinfall.

Hail offers a hand shake after the match, and Zaria slaps her hand away. Suddenly, Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid & WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley) run down and jump on the apron. They face off with Zaria and Hail, who puts her hand on Zaria’s shoulder while telling her that Hail has got her back. Zaria then snatches Hail to deliver a F-5, which seems a rather harsh reaction. Fatal Influence back away.

— Hard sell for Royal Rumble weekend precedes a backstage skit with Wren Sinclair, Charlie Dempsey and WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey. Up walks the recently formed trio of Lexis King, Arianna Grace and Stacks. They want to speak with Dempsey. Grace tells him that he is “one of us.”

Keanu Carver vs. Andre Chase in a qualifier for the NXT Championship ladder match

Andre Chase wrestled with a nose guard. I did not like his chances against someone getting a major push like Keanu Carver, who ate up Chase in the match. Chase still took the fight to Carver, only for Carver to mow him down. Chase is soon tossed outside the ring, where Carver pummels him around ringside. Carver wrestled like a heel, as he punished Chase by pummeling him some more in the ring. Chase was no match, yet he bumped and fed well for Carver.

Chase gets a comeback and a tornado DDT off the middle rope. Chase follows up with a high cross off the top rope. Outside the ring on the floor, Carver rams Chase into the edge of the ring apron. Chase retaliates with by charging toward Carver. They tumble over the announce desk. On commentary, Chase is credited with being the aggressor as Chase rises from the ashes to stand defiantly stop the announce desk. He lets out a primal yell, only for Chase to fall prey to Carver. After an impressive leap on to the desk, Carver with a sidewalk slam sends Chase crashing on the desk. Back in the ring, Carver delivers a twisting powerslam, and Carver covers Chase for a three count.

Match result: Keanu Carver defeated Andre Chase via pinfall.

In a post-match beat down, Carver continues his assault on Chase. Carver smashed him into a turnbuckle repeatedly, and Carver rips off the turnbuckle pad before smashing Chase into the exposed buckle. Not finished yet, Carver drags Chase over to the ring steps. Carver stomps Chase’s head on the steps in an injury angle.

Carver then gets the house microphone and cuts a promo warning everyone he is winning the ladder match. Shiloh Hill is watching on a monitor backstage. After a commercial break, Hill and others are in the ring for a go-home promo.

Shiloh Hill is the ring alongside other ladder match participants Sean Legacy, Dion Lennox and Jackson Drake. They take turns cutting a promos until the are interrupted by the entrance of Ricky Saints. He carries a ladder on the stage, and Saints climbs atop the ladder. Saints remarks on the view looking good from up there. Saints sees a lot of potential in the ring, but they are seeds that are yet to sprout. Saints is the rose that sprouts in a concrete jungle. Saints vows to be a two-time champion.

Carver butts in to say they are doing too much talking. You can say that again. A melee erupts and everyone starts brawling around the ring. Parade of high spots before Vic Joseph on commentary says his name and he appears. Out runs Joe Hendry clutching his arm. Hendry with a Spirit of ’76 comeback, and he is a house of fire until running into Carver. Hendry is given the twisting powerslam that Carver used as his finisher.

Carver looks dominant as the show goes off the air.

*************************

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. The show starts with a recap of last week, and a preview of this week’s card.

NXT General Manager Ava is in her office with her security team. She wants them on “high alert” as they are on the lookout for Tony D’Angelo, following the cliffhanger from last Tuesday. Meanwhile inside the sound stage, the NXT Championship belt hangs over the ring, awaiting the ladder match in a few weeks.

Opening the show tonight is a title match. One-half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions — and the current NXT North American Champion — Ethan Page defends his singles title against the debuting masked wrestler named Elio LeFleur (formerly Aigle Blanc).

Ethan Page vs. Elio LeFleur for the NXT North American Championship

LeFleur gets to shine with his high-flying and fast-paced offense. He looked great from the start. On the floor, LeFleur leaps off the ring steps to catch Page with a flying head scissors. Page cut him off and gave LeFleur a backbreaker on the top turnbuckle. LeFleur was on the floor selling as the show cuts to a commercial break.

During a split-screen as commercials rolled, Page worked over LeFleur. Targeting the back, Page then goes for a piledriver — only for LeFleur to counter with a back drop. LeFleur begins a comeback that led into a two count on Page. They trade near falls after Page boots LeFleur in the face after LeFleur rolled through on an attempted 450.

They square off and LeFleur is fired up. LeFleur goes for another springboard, and Page cuts him off with a dropkick. Nevertheless, LeFleur recovers and counters Page into a DDT. Quebrada to the floor by LeFleur, and a springboard kick for another near fall.

Before they go home, LeFleur goes coast-to-coast on a missile dropkick for the closest near fall of the bout. Page gets his knees up on an attempted Phoenix Splash. Having targeted the back earlier in the match, Page was sure he could deliver a Razor’s Edge. LeFleur counters with a hurricanrana, and Page eats a running kick. LeFleur goes for another running kick, but Page blocks it with a powerbomb. Page then covers LeFleur and hooks the tights for an illegal advantage. Great opener despite the cheap finish. And still…

Match result: NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defeated Elio LeFleur via a pinfall (while holding trunks) to retain his title.

On Page’s way out he encounters Ricky Saints, who is entering the sound stage to join the commentary team. Saints joins Vic Joseph and Booker T at the announce desk as the show goes into a commercial break.

— Back from the break, the television debut of Keanu Carver laying waste the NXT roster in an angle from last Tuesday. Vic Joseph tries to ask Booker T about Carver and him getting into an argument in an angle from LFG between Booker and Carver. Booker is silent at the announce desk, and he offers no comment.

Shiloh Hill vs. Josh Briggs in a NXT Championship ladder match qualifier

The match goes through a commercial break in what developed into a hoss fight. A long-haired guy in leather jeans against a biker in leather pants, in what is a battle old as time. They were laying in the leather too, with lariats, strikes and kicks.

The tide really shifts when there is no water in the pool as Briggs crashes and burns on a moonsault press. Hill follows up with a side slam/neckbreaker combo, which is apparently his finisher. Hill then hooks a leg and covers Briggs for a three count.

Match result: Shiloh Hill defeated Josh Briggs via pinfall to qualify for the championship ladder match.

— In a post-match ambush, Tony D’Angelo attacks both Briggs and Hill after the match. D’Angelo lays out both, scooping any heat the two just acquired in their hard-hitting match. D’Angelo then strolls away after glaring at Ricky Saints, who looked like he saw a ghost.

— Zaria & Sol Ruca discuss their angle from TNA Genesis, and Zaria says her shoulder is sore — so of that costs them in their tag match tonight. Then Zaria will not be to blame.

— The Vanity Project trio enter the sound stage ahead of the tag bout that is up next after a commercial break.

Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors with Andre Chase) vs. Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes with Jackson Drake)

This was a fun, action-filled tag match. Lots of double team spots and high spots galore. Swipe Right win after a double stomp/slop drop finisher. Chase U got to shine, and Dixon especially shines with a Fosbury Flop. However, he ultimately takes the double team finisher, and Smokes covers Dixon for a pinfall.

Match result: Brad Barlor & Ricky Smokes defeated Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors when Smokes pinned Dixon.

— In a backstage skit, Lola Vice is in Ava’s office lobbying for a title match. In walks Thea Hail, who says she has learned her lesson, and now Hail wants a title shot. Vice disagrees, before Ava informs both they are in triple threat title match against NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame on February 3.

— Back from a commercial break and Vic Joseph again brings up Keanu Carver. That led to a sit-down where Blake Howard interviews Carver, who starts off by saying the only reason he is here is because they made him. Carver refuses to answer any “dumbass questions” from Howard. Upon Howard bringing up the disciplinary action from the past, Carver storms off set.

— Jaida Parker enters the sound stage for an in-ring promo. She is over greatly with the studio audience. Parker says she has been away for a while, but she has watched closely. She puts over Kendal Grey, with Parker saying she deserves her flowers. Blake Monroe on the other hand, does not deserve her flowers.

Parker goes on to say she did not rush back with excuses, instead letting her work speak for itself. Parker then talks about negative opinions on her. Maybe she should smile more and talk less, but to each their own. Some days she feels like she cannot catch a break, but she still catches attention. When she walks in a room, the room gets tighter and the air harder to breath.

Blake Monroe interrupts Parker after the arena lights go dark. A spotlight shows Monroe on a platform perched overlooking the ring. Monroe says the grand entrance is a way to remind Parker in case she needs a reminder. Monroe warns Parker she missed up by interrupting Monroe last week. Monroe claims Parker does not get to return and stand in the way of Monroe.

Parker says Monroe talks so much because if Monroe quit talking, she might have something to prove. At the end of the day, Monroe has to deal with Ms. Parker. Mic drop.

Sean Legacy vs. Eli Knight in a NXT Championship ladder match qualifier

Ricky Saints is back for guest commentary during the match, which was a high-flying spectacle from the start. Knight with an Asai moonsault as the show cuts to a commercial break. Slugfest as the show returns from the break, and they trade strikes and kicks. Knight turned inside out on a lariat from Legacy, and they begin trading near falls with reversals and counters from each.

Knight eats a superkick, and Legacy with a running Spanish Fly. Springboard 450 splash by Legacy, but Knight kicks out at two and half. Knight counters Legacy with an exploder in a corner. In a really cool spot, Knight lands on his feet doing a moonsault when Legacy tried to roll away. Upon landing, Knight then leapt backwards into a standing moonsault press for a two count.

They keep trading near falls and reversals. Sliced bread by Knight to set up an attempted moonsault. Legacy gets his feet up and boots Knight in the face. Legacy capitalizes with a Torture rack into a twisting neckbreaker for a wicked finisher, and Legacy covers Knight for a pinfall.

Match result: Sean Legacy defeated Eli Knight via pinfall to qualify for the championship ladder match.

Great bout, but whatever they did to get over was seemingly all for not after Tony D’Angelo scooped more heat. Much like earlier tonight in the other qualifier, D’Angelo attacked both Legacy and Knight. D’Angelo ambushes them and leaves them laid out. Taking things a step further than before, D’Angelo gives Legacy a chokeslam on the announce desk — as Ricky Saints watches in horror from behind the desk.

Ava eventually enters the scene flanked by armed security, and D’Angelo is surrounded by them. D’Angelo calmly turns around and places his hands behind his back without a word spoken. D’Angelo is then handcuffed and escorted away. Later after a commercial break, D’Angelo is taken on a perp walk where he is led by Ava, who remarks he left her no choice. D’Angelo is stone-faced and stays silent. Blake Howard as the roving reporter tries to get a comment from D’Angelo as he is placed in the back of a SUV. No comment, and D’Angelo is driven away apparently under arrest.

— The Culling is featured in a video package sponsored by an insurance company.

— OTM shoves Blake Howard, and they cut a promo on Darkstate. Last week was a warning, and now OTM is looking for the tag title. OTM challenges Darkstate to a tag title match next Tuesday. That match is made official for next week by the end of this show.

— Joe Hendry in a cameo appearance is the highlight of a backstage skit with The Vanity Project. The heel trios is talking backstage with two unidentified blonde women. Robert Stone walks up to inform Jackson Drake he is booked in a qualifying match next week against Joe Hendry. Say his name and he appears, and Hendry cuts a promo.

— Darkstate cut a promo on Myles Borne in a locker room skit.

Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid with Jacy Jayne) vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria vs. Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair in a triple threat match to determine number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship

Action-packed tag bout with three teams involved, and three legal wrestlers in the ring at once. They did a parade of dives where Grey & Sinclair shine ahead of a commercial break. After the show returns from the break, the chaos is settled in the ring. Zaria has Grey in a hanging choke, and Henley assists for a Doomsday Device.

They did a flash of false finishes and high spots, which popped the studio audience every time. Grey & Sinclair shined a lot in the final moments. As they go home in the match, the focus shifts to an angle between Ruca and her partner — Zaria — who makes a blind tag much to the chagrin of Ruca. Zaria delivers a double spear, as Ruca claps for her. Zaria then sends Ruca for an attempted assist, but Ruca sails out of the ring and takes a kick from Henley on the floor.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne interferes at ringside with a roaring elbow to Grey. Sinclair tries to make a save with a missile dropkick on Jayne, only for Henley to send Sinclair crashing into the barricade. Back in the ring, Zaria faces off against Henley & Reid. Blockbuster by Henley on Zaria for a near fall, where Ruca breaks the count by pulling Henley out of the ring. Ruca leaps into action by hitting a double Sol Snatcher on Reid & Henley. Ruca then sends Henley into the clutches of Zaria, who executes a F5. Zaria then hooks a leg and covers Henley for a three count.

Match result: Sol Ruca & Zaria becomes number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship after defeating Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid and Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair in a triple threat match.

WWE NXT live results: Ava to address future of the NXT Championship

WWE NXT on Tuesday, January 13 will feature the fallout from last week’s New Year’s Evil.

Following Oba Femi leaving the NXT Championship belt in the ring on the January 6 show, NXT General Manager Ava is set to address the future of the title on this week’s show.

We will also hear from the new NXT North American Champion Izzi Dame following her win over Thea Hail in an open challenge at New Year’s Evil.

The TNA International title will be on the line this week as well when Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defends against Shiloh Hill. Also, Jasper Troy will defend the men’s Speed Championship on Tuesday against Tavion Heights.

Also scheduled for Tuesday is a no disqualification match between Joe Hendry and Dion Lennox. Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan is also scheduled for the show.

Our live coverage of WWE NXT on Tuesday, January 13 begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********************************

NXT is on the air from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. The show begins with a recap of New Year’s Evil from last Tuesday.

Lights in the sound stage are dim with a spotlight on the men’s NXT Championship belt in the center of the ring. Oba Femi vacated the NXT title last week in a cliffhanger ending to the show, and this week is a follow up on Femi’s departure from NXT.

The lights come up and NXT General Manager Ava is in the ring picking up the vacated title belt. Surrounding the ring is the men’s roster on NXT, and they listen while Ava says some may see Femi vacating the title as a challenge. Instead, she sees it as a “perfect opportunity” as the men’s division is “wide open” with no better time than right now.

Interrupting Ava’s speech is the entrance of Ricky Saints. He gets in the ring dressed in street clothes. The other wrestlers stand around awkwardly as Saints poses on the ropes. Saints claims to have accomplished a “absolute hat trick” by running Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and Oba Femi out of NXT. They are the past and he is the now. He plays on the then-now-forever slogan.

Saints says we have some talented men right now, but all eyes are on him right now. Saints will shut up so Ava can award him the title. Ava scoffs at that, and basically says the whole roster gave her a similar pitch on why they all deserve to be champion.

Ava goes on to announce a six-man ladder match for the championship on February 3. The winner becomes the new champion of the men’s division. Qualifying matches begin next week on NXT. Ava places the NXT title belt on a hanger, and it is raised above the ring while wrestlers roll into the ring for a wild brawl.

Joe Hendry is first to roll in the ring, followed by the rest as a melee breaks up. Hendry and Saints square up as a brawl erupts around them. Everyone is fighting when Keanu Carver debuts on NXT by storming to ringside to wreak havoc. He recently signed to the roster, and Carver gets a mega push from the start.

Carver is the last man standing, and all eyes are on him around he lays out everyone. Carver is getting a big push, and has his eyes on the championship. Carver bieled one person into the studio audience, and then he cleaned house inside the ring. Carver stands tall to end the segment.

— New NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame is seen arriving to the building during the next match. She is flanked by The Culling.

Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice

The grudge here dates back several months. Jordan attacked Vice three weeks ago, which directly set up this match. The story is Jordan was once a in a “little sister” role, but she now steps up to challenge the locker room leader, who is Lola Vice.

The match itself goes through a commercial break. Vice is down selling as the show cuts to commercials. She begins a comeback when the show returns from the break. Jordan eventually cuts off Vice, and Jordan leaps off the top rope with a frog splash for a near fall.

Jordan intends to follow up with a split-legged moonsault, but Vice catches her in a triangle choke. Jordan escapes to deliver a tilt-a-whirl slam, and they soon go home.

Just before the finish, Jordan tries to hold the ropes for illegal leverage on an O’Connor roll. The referee refuses to count. Jordan then turns around and walks into a spinning back fist. Vice then covers Jordan for a three count.

Match result: Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan via pinfall.

— A hype video previews the next match.

Jasper Troy vs. Tavion Heights for the WWE Speed Championship

Tavion Heights challenges for the the Speed title in a match with a five-minute time limit. Troy works over Heights for much of the match, but Heights fires up at times on offensive. In the final minute, Troy delivers a Bossman slam. Troy then pins Heights. And still…

Match result: WWE Speed Champion Jasper Troy defeated Tavion Heights via pinfall to retain his title.

— In a post-match angle, Lexis King attacked Heights. King ambushed Heights and laid him out with his finisher. After a commercial break, King is backstage with a walking can and a cowboy hat. King argues with Chase U. Up walks Stacks and Arianna Grace. Stacks says they should listen to King, and they all leave. The camera follows Robert Stone after the tells King that attacking people like that is wrong. Myles Borne pitches Stone for a qualifying match. Stone tries to blow him off, but Borne grabs him and insists on a qualifying match.

— Elio LeFluer is featured in a personality profile that hypes his debut on the NXT roster. His first opponent is named in a backstage skit that follows the video package.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page asks Ava when his qualifying match. Page figured he would get a shot, but Ava had other ideas. She tells Page he can have a qualifying match if he forfeits the North American title. Ava goes on to announce Page is defending his title against the debuting Elio LeFluer next Tuesday on NXT.

Jaida Parker returns and confronts Blake Monroe

Blake Monroe enters the sound stage for an in-ring promo. Monroe talks about attacking Thea Hail, and Monroe defends her actions. There is a lot of inside baseball of sorts. Monroe boasts when she is so talented that some people do not know what to do with her. Monroe puts herself over as she continues to brag on herself.

The entrance of Jaida Parker interrupts Monroe’s monologue. Big pop for the return of Parker, and the studio audience chants for her. Parker goes to speak when Monroe interrupts her. The fight is on and Parker pummels Monroe. Parker then does her signature spot, and she stands tall as Monroe flees the ring. Parker and Monroe are clearly set for a match soon.

— Shiloh Hill is the focus of a personality profile sponsored by an insurance company. His opponent in the next match is headed to the ring, and the entrance of Stacks precedes a commercial break.

— After the break comes a video package hyping up Darkstate.

Stacks (with Arianna Grace) vs. Shiloh Hill for the TNA International Championship

The match goes through a commercial break even though it did not need to. Nonetheless, Grace gets involved at ringside. She interferes and tries to trip up Hill. He jumps her attempted trip, but the delay allows Stacks to counter a sunset flip.

Stacks holds the rope for illegal leverage, and Grace grabs his hand to help too. The ref catches them in the act, and does the Tommy Young spot where he kicks the heel’s hand off the rope. That spot would have been more effective if he had not seen a similar spot in a previous match on the show. Regardless, Hill gets a nearfall when he reverses the roll-up. Hill then hooks Stacks in a small package. Grace interferes again to kick Stacks into a reversal of the small package. The ref counts the pin, and still…

Match result: TNA International Champion Stacks defeated Shiloh Hill via pinfall to retain his title.

— Izzi Dame is headed to the ring to celebrate her winning the NXT Women’s North American title. Flanking her is Shawn Spears and Niko Vance of The Culling, but they did not escort her to the ring. They remained backstage, which was essential for the angle that follows.

Tatum Paxley attacks Izzi Dame

Dame comes out to cut a heel promo where she boasts about becoming the new Women’s North American Champion. Tatum Paxley storms past security on her way to the ring to interrupt the monologue.

Paxley storms into the ring and attacks Dame, as Paxley looks for a measure of revenge on her former friend. Referees pulls Paxley away, and Paxley headbutts one of them. The ref sells big and he drops like a stone. Dame flees the ring and clutches her title belt.

In a backstage skit after a commercial break, roving reporter Blake Howards informs viewers that Paxley was barred from the building after her run-in.

— The Vanity Project is interviewed by Howard, and the heel trio brag about themselves. The tag team of Swipe Right reveal that next week they have a tag match against Chase U. Vanity Project flees when they see Keanu Carver storming through the backstage area. The camera goes to follow Carver, and he apparently assaults the camera operator after screaming to get the camera out of his face.

— Hard sell for next Tuesday just before the entrances for the main event.

Joe Hendry (with OTM) vs. Dion Lennox (with Darkstate) in a no disqualification match

Joe Hendry appears out numbered by Darkstate until OTM enter to watch Hendry’s back in his corner. High drama, only for them to start the match with a collar and elbow lock-up to begin this grudge match of sorts.

The match itself goes through a split-screen commercial break. Hendry shows fire at the start. They tease a superplex, and Hendry takes a back bump off the middle rope. He kips up and leaps back onto the ropes, and Hendry gives Lennox a superplex just before the show cuts to the commercial break.

The are brawling as the show returns from the break, and Lennox grounds Hendry with a chinlock. Hendry is fighting back when Saquon Shugars interferes by wedging a metal folding chair between the top and middle ropes. The interference backfires as Hendry reverses an Irish whip and Lennox crashes into the chair.

Hendry is firing up by peppering Lennox with Roddy Piper punches. Hendry is handed brass knux. Hendry decks Lennox with a loaded fist for a near fall. Hendry does his signature turn, and she stomps the mat to get the crowd to chant. Hendry goes for a chokeslam, only for Lennox to be handed a kendo stick. Lennox escapes and Hendry feeds him his back for shots from the kendo stick. Hendry takes the stick from Lennox and hits him repeatedly in retaliation.

Standing Ovation chokeslam but Hendry, and he hooks a leg while covering Lennox. NWO spot where Darkstate pull Hendry out of the ring to break the count. Slingshot sit-out powerbomb by Lennox for a near fall. Playing on the earlier spot, OTM drag Lennox out of the ring. They attack Lennox, which prompts Darkstate to jump on the apron. They face off with OTM and a melee erupts in the ring. Darkstate and OTM brawl their way to the backstage area.

Back in the ring, Lennox and Hendry tease doing the Dan Severn-Tarzan Goto spot with dueling chairs. They duel is short-lived, but that spot led into another spot where Hendry takes a spinebuster on a chair. Hendry still gets a shoulder up, and they go on trade near falls when Hendry gives Lennox a chokeslam on a chair.

Meanwhile, a table is propped up in a corner. The table is adorned with Slim Jim stickers. Hendry takes a spear from Lennox, and they crash through the table. Hendry gets a shoulder up yet again. Lennox grabs a metal chair and teases a chair shot on Hendry. Before he can deliver the chair shot, Lennox is hit in the back with a chair swung by Tony D’Angelo. Complete with his new look, D’Angelo gives Lennox a chokeslam from hell.

D’Angelo extends a hand to help Hendry to his feet. That is a swerve, as D’Angelo lures in Hendry for a chokeslam. D’Angelo then drags Hendry over Lennox. The referee counts the pin with Hendry covering Lennox.

Match result: Joe Hendry defeated Dio Lennox in a no DQ match.

In a post-match angle, Ava orders security to removes Tony D’Angelo from the ring. D’Angelo dismantles and runs through the security team. D’Angelo then glares at Ava, as he walks past her when the show goes off air.

WWE NXT New Year’s Evil live results: Oba Femi vs. Leon Slater

The first WWE NXT episode of 2026 has arrived with tonight’s live New Year’s Evil special from Orlando, Florida.

In the main event, NXT Champion Oba Femi defends against TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. Femi appears to be main roster bound, but isn’t looking to lose his title anytime soon. This is his first TV appearance since December’s Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Cody Rhodes.

The NXT Women’s title will be on the line as Jacy Jayne defends against Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge winner Kendal Grey.

After an upset win to cap off 2025, NXT Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail defends against Blake Monroe in a rematch.

The show is capped off by rivals Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley in a grudge match.

Our live coverage begins at 8 pm Eastern.

**********

Welcome to NXT New Year’s Evil (presumably to be followed next year by New Year’s Evil 2: Evil Harder) where the stakes are high, the parties are well, over, but the action remains hot and spicy, not unlike the Italian sausage I finished before getting started tonight.

Speaking of getting started, New Year’s Evil started with a quick recap package of some of NXT’s 2025 highlights, while t’ing up the night’s card. Vic Joseph and Booker T made a solemn and dignified pair as we saw what could be the first footage of wrestlers arriving to work in 2026.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Match: Thea Hail (c) vs. Blake Monroe

As 2025 came to a close, Hail won the Women’s North American Title from Monroe and she’s been soooooo bummed about it ever since. Monroe has been sulking around GM Ava’s office and Ava told her last week that she has to “bring the glamour” if Monroe expects to win back her title. But I still believe in Thea Hail.

Monroe attacked Hail on the entrance ramp as her music played and beat her up with a chair before tossing her through the barricade. Security arrived to try and get them back on track while the crowd chanted “Let them fight!”

That settled down just in time for Ricky Saints and his snakeskin pants (also my Velvet Revolver cover band’s name) to come sauntering to the ring? So the match…?

They then casually announced that the match wouldn’t take place tonight so:

Match Result: Thea Hail vs Blake Monroe was a no contest? or something?

Saints grabbed a mic and said that he was there to give the crowd a gift to start of 2026: him. The crowd did not like the gift and asked for it to be returned, but Saints said that “NXT needs” him now that Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams have gone off as “free agents” since they knew they couldn’t hang with him.

Saints said that he “ain’t going nowhere” and anyone who comes at him will be sent back where they came from. Saints said that it’s natural-born stars like him against “home-grown” stars that they are trying to make.

Saints then called out Oba Femi, saying that they are 1-1 against each other and regardless of who wins tonight, Saints will be coming for that title. And that, is absolute.

-Backstage, GM Ava sent Robert Stone to go find Monroe and grabbed a production headset. She told the team to play the Paxley/Dame video package because they were now on first!

-After a break, GM Ava was still stomping around backstage and ran into Blake Monroe. Ava rightly asked her “what the hell?” and Monroe said that she was just bringing the glamour! Ava then banned her from the building and threw her out.

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame

So, yeah. The long and the short of this match is that Paxley and Dame used to be in the Culling together. Paxley had a cup of coffee with the NXT Women’s Championship, which drove Dame crazy and she convinced the rest of the culling to oust Paxley. So they don’t like each other. Like, at all.

Dame actually came to the ring without her Culling stablemates, so it would be Dame and Paxley one-on-one.

Immediately off the bell, Dame tried to get Paxley on her shoulders, but the latter sllid off. They then traded punches in the corner with each one throwing some very agressive shots. You could really feal the animosity between these two.

Paxley got Dame in an ankly lock through the ropes, but Dame broke it off, rolling out and under the rope clutching her leg. Paxley dragged her back into the ring and smacked her right in the face. She put on an STF lock, pulling Dame’s leg back, then picking it up and slamming it.

Paxley hit a flipping leg drop on the ring apron (the evilest part of the ring!), but Dame caught her leg on the follow up and knocked her off the apron with a forearm. Dame then drove Paxley into the announce table and back into the apron. She picked her up by the throat and slammed her on the apron before throwing her back in.

Dame ragdolled the smaller Paxley from corner to corner, adding in some stomps and elbows for good measure. She then leapt off the second rope into a codebreaker for a two count.

Dame grabbed a headlock while the crowd chanted for Tatum. Paxley fought out of the headlock with some elbows and a chop block, but Dame took the momentum back and the headlock as well. Dame threw Paxley with a gutwrench, but a back elbow stunned her and Paxley got free.

The two started a slug fest in the middle of the ring until Dame landed a backbreaker followed byt a flapjack into the top rope and two knees to Paxley’s gut. She put Paxley in a Walls of Jericho -type hold, but Paxley was able to get to to the rope to break it.

Dame went up top, but Paxley managed to hit her with and insiguri. The crowd started singing the Addams Family theme at this point, but that didn’t distract Paxley from hitting a flipping bulldog from the top turnbuckle!

The two got to their feet and went blow for blow, letting it all come out, until Paxley hit a chinbreaker. She followed that with a snap German suplex and went for a kick, but Dame dodged and hit her with a gutwrench sit out powerbomb for a two count.

Dame sent Paxley into the corner, and Paxley came out swinging. Dame caught her with an up and over suplex, but Paxley kicked out. Dame then speared Paxley through the ropes and into the outside. She threw Paxley into the steel steps then back into the ring.

Paxley countered a suplex attempt and landed a Pele kick before going up top for a 450. She got about 440 and then nailed a Cemetery Drive to get the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame

Next a hype video for French luchadore Elio LeFleur aired before heading to a commercial break.

-Back from break, GM Ava told Thea Hail that she would be pushing back her match with Blake Monroe because she was ejected from the building. Hail said that she wanted to revive the open challenge so she could have a match tonight. Jordynne Grace was there and she also approved. Ava said “whatever” and left.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey

Grey won the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge to earn the right to face Jayne in this match. Unlike Je’Von Evans, Grey had patience and waited just long enough for Jayne Fatal Influence to beat (up) her best friend Wren Sinclair last week. This match has some great potential as it’s champion vs champion and pits the future (NXT Women’s Champion Jayne) against the future future (Evolve Champion Grey).

During Fatal Influence’s entrance, I had but one thought: So much hair flipping.

After the bell rang though, Grey went right for Jayne, grabbing an armbar. Jayne kicked out of it and Grey threw it right back on. This time, Jayne was able to get to the ropes to break it. Jayne threw some kicks and chops and sent Grey to the corner.

Grey dodged the charge and ran circles around Jayne until delivering a dropkick that sent her out of the ring. Fatal Influence ran over to check on her and Grey did a crossbody from the top turnbuckle onto all three.

Jayne got to her feet first and picked up Grey and thew her into the plastic barricade. She then cannonballed her into the same plastic barricade. She threw Grey back into the ring for a senton and a two count.

Jayne hit a gnarly kick that sent Grey’s head spinning around and then threw some knees into the back of her head before hitting snakeyes on the turnbuckle. Jayne grabbed a chinlock, wrenching Grey’s neck. Grey dropped out of it though and started throwing hands.

Jayne shot Grey off the ropes, but Grey rolled through for a two count. Jayne then kicked her in the face and began mocking her. She tossed her head first into the turnbuckle and grabbed a tight headlock. Jayne pulled back, twisting Grey in half by the head.

Grey fought her way out of it, but left herself open for a neckbreaker from Jayne. Jayne went back to the headlock, but Grey pushed her into the turnbuckles to break the hold. Grey hit a high cross body and dodged a kick, but she and Jayne ran into each other in stereo crossbodys and were left laying.

They staggered up and Jayne’s talented feet peppered Grey with kicks. Jayne started mocking Grey again, but Grey interrupted with a headbutt and a series of kicks. She dropped the straps like so many Brons Breakkers and hit a top rope stomp and then a DDT on Jayne.

Jayne kicked out of the pin attempt and Grey went up top. Jayne knocked her off the turnbuckle though and hit another neckbreaker. Grey kicked out a two, and a frustrated Jayne resorted to punching.

Grey got up and caught her with three german suplexes. Jayne exploded out with a knee, but Grey kicked out at two. Both women crawled around the ring while “this is awesome” chants began around them.

Jayne went up top, but Grey scrambled up and pulled her down. Grey tried a rollthrough, but ended up putting on that armbar, with Jayne nowhere near the ropes. Fatal influence interferede behind the refs back causing Wren Sinclair to get up on the apron.

That left Jayne open and Grey grabbed another ambar and went for a DDT. Fallon Henley reached through the ropes though and grabbed Jaynes tights holding her up, sending Grey to the mat alone. That gave Jayne a few seconds to set up and hit a rolling encore on Grey and get the pin to retain the NXT Women’s Title.

Match Result: Jacy Jayne defeated Kendal Grey

-Back from break, GM Ava was subjected to Ethan Page being in her office. Page reminded her that he had a record setting 12 title defenses in the last year. Page said that since Ava was having a good day, he was going to the ring to finish his thoughts. That gave The Vanity Project a chance to enter. They want to talk 2026 with Ava and the segment ended.

NXT Women’s North American Title Open Challenge: Thea Hail (c) Vs…?

Hail limped to the ring, holding her wrist, obviously not in prime condition. She grabbed a mic and sat in the middle of the ring. She said she was devastated that she wasn’t going to get to fight Blake Monroe, but she promised everyone a championship match and she re-opened the open challenge!

The women’s locker room then emptied out as everyone tried to get to the ring first. Suddenly Tatum Paxley arrived with a chainsaw, only to get taken out by the Culling. Izzi Dame appeared in the ring and Spears made the timekeeper ring the bell!

NXT Women’s North American Title Open Challenge: Thea Hail (c) vs Izzi Dame

Dame absolutely dominated Hail for a few minutes with elbows and scoop slams. She hoisted Hail to her shoulders, but Hail worked out of it. Dame grabbed her, but Hail rolled through it. Dame grabbed Hail and threw her into the turnbuckle before hitting a powerslam for a two count.

Dame then stomped Hail and threw her into the corner. Dame stood on Hail who wailed in pain. Dame continued throwing elbows, stomps, fists and anything else she could think of at Hail. Dame hit a backbreaker but Hail came up swinging. Dame dodged it and grabbed a headlock.

Hail managed to stand, but Dame put a knee in her stomach and went right back to the headlock. Hail fought back, but couldn’t get the upper hand on Dame. Hail got a DDT on Dame that surprised even her and then put a kick to her midsection.

Hail hit a few takedowns and rolled through a charge from Dame, but Dame regained control with a scoop slam and an elbow. Hail fought back with a senton and went off the ropes, but Dame put her knees up. Dame then hit a big boot, but only got a two count as Hail kicked out.

Hail went for a kimura lock, but Dame powered out of it. Hail hit an exploder out fo the corner and Dame slid out of the ring. Hail dove through the ropes at her, but Dame caught her in midair and chokeslammed her onto the announce table.

Dame got back in the ring, but forgot Hail! She quickly grabbed her and threw her back into the ring to avoid the countout. Dame went up to the top turnbuckle, but Hail met her there with some punches. Hail tried to put on the kimura, but that left her open for a Super Dame Over and bam. 1-2-3 and Izzi Dame is your new NXT Women’s North American Champion.

Match Result: Izzi Dame defeated Thea Hail

-Backstage, The Vanity Project left Ava’s office and ran into Lola Vice. They tried hitting on her, but Hank and Tank arrived to shoo them away. Hank, Tank and Vice discussed what they just saw and Vice’s feud with Kelani Jordan. Jordan then teleported into the scene and a brawl broke out.

They decided not to bore us with a finish to that segment and moved back to Ava’s office where Joe Hendry asked for a match against Dark State. Ava said that she knew Dark State would just jump Joe 4-on-1, so Hendry said that he would find some friends to watch his back. Ava said that sounded good and Hendry left.

-Back from break, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page was in the ring. He said that he wanted to celebrate himself being so great in 2025. He said that proved time and time again that he is the greatest North American alive.

Page declared his North American title the most prestigious title in all of WWE. He said that he thought it was funny that Femi only defended his “world” title in North America while he has defended his title all over the place.

Suddenly, Speed Champion Jasper Troy appeared. Troy said that he is out here to prove that he’s the Monster of NXT. He said that the Speed title wouldn’t be the last title he held and looked at Page’s belt.

Then, Sons of Anarchy cosplayer Josh Briggs showed up and said that Page and the crowd were delusional.

Then, because why not, TNA International Champion Stacks and Arianna Grace appeared and added themselves to the crowd of people who think they are more important than Ethan Page.

Not to worry though! The Promo Parade continued as Shiloh Hill came down to the ring to call out Stacks. Hill announced that Santino and Ava had decided that Hill would get a shot at the TNA International title next week.

Then, Tavion Heights showed up and challenged Jasper Troy to a match for the Speed Title. A frustrated Page then told Heights that the last time he was near a championship, he dropped the ball. That caused a brawl to break out with everyone spamming finishers and Hill dancing with Arianna Grace until his tooth fell out.

TL;DR: An Ethan Page promo resulted in a Speed Title match, a TNA International Title Match and a mid-card brawl that ended with someone losing a tooth and as we all know, it’s all fun and games until someone loses a tooth.

-After a break, Joe Hendry was shown trying to recruit OTM to be his backup against Dark State. Hendry convinced them just as Fatal Influence walked by and nearly into Zaria and Sol Ruca. Jayne made fun of Ruca for not having any titles. Ruca said she was coming for Jayne’s title and she said “oh, I thought you were a tag team” and then Fatal Influence left.

-Ethan Page stomped through backstage and yelled at Miles Borne for not being there to back him up even though he didn’t ask. He ended it with “can you hear me now, Miles?” which is a pretty low blow, even for Page.

-It was announced that next week Joe Hendry will take on Dark State’s Dionne Lennox. Jasper Troy and Tavion Heights will fight over the Speed title and Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan will got one-on-one.

NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs.TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater

This title shot was supposed to belong to Je’Von Evans for winning the Iron Survivor Challenge. However, Evans forced Femi’s hand and forced him to defend it early in a match that Evans lost in one hell of a match. But then he bounced and signed to RAW, so no one really feels too bad for him. Similarly bouncy TNA X-Division Champion Slater (Evans tag team partner) then won a Fatal 4-Way Match against Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry and Myles Borne to become the No. 1 Contender to Femi’s NXT Title.

Slater was almost as tall as Femi, but could not escape Femi’s strength. Off the bell, Femi picke dup Slater and threw him clear across the ring. Femi grabbed a wristlock and Slater tried to get out of it with speed. Femi wasn’t letting go though and the ref broke it up.

Femi laid some big potatoes on Slater’s skull and then knocked him to the mat. Slater got up to take an elbow, but started throwing shots back. Femi put an end to that with a single chop, sending Slater to the ring with astonishment on his face.

Slater managed to sneak in a high kick, but Femi was right there to counter with a backbreaker. Femi then whipped Slater into the corner so hard he bounced out of the ring to the floor. Femi floolwed him and bounced Slater’s head off the ring apron (the near yearsiest part of the ring!). Femi then dropped him on the apron and rolled him back into the ring.

Femi continued to dominate, countering everything Slater threw at him. Femi hit another backbreaker, trying to take away Slater’s high flying abilites. Slater got in a couple of punches, but Femi threw him into the corner before they could have an affect.

Slater managed to hit a codebreaker, stunning Femi. He then went for a headscissor, sending Femi out of the ring. Slater ran the apron to get Femi, but Femi swatted him down to the mat like a fly. Femi drove his knees into Slater, but Slater moved on the last one and Femi’s knee hit the ring post.

Slater took advantage and sidestepped a lariat and shoved Femi into the steel steps. He then threw the champ back into the ring and hit a crossbody from the top rope. Femi kicked out of the pin at two. Slater went right back to work, trying to take out Femi’s knees. He left himself open for a clothesline and a chokeslam though and Femi went for the pin. Slater kicked out at 2.75.

Femi looked to finish Slater off with a series of elbows, but his knee gave out. Slater took advantage and scooped him up for a body slam! Slater went for a pin but only got a two count. Femi shoved Slater off and rolled to the apron to recover.

Slater hit an insiguri that sent Femi to the floor. Slater leapt over the ring post and right onto Femi. He dragged him back to the ring and went up top for a swanton 450, but Femi got his knees up. Femi crawled over for the cover and Slater rolled through into ta two count.

Femi grabbed Slater before he could recover and hit a Fall From Grace. He pinned Slater but there was no kickout and Femi got the win and retained the NXT World Championship.

Match Result: Oba Femi defeated Leon Slater

Femi posed and celebrated in the ring and backstage, Ava addressed the Evolve Roster about the potential for them to be called up to NXT. Robert Stone then burst into the room saying “did you see what Oba Femi just did?!?!”

The scene cut back to the ring where Femi was nowhere to be found and the NXT Title belt was left behind, sitting in the middle of the ring as the show ended.

The match goes through a commercial break. Both were selling their shoulders, but Page was in control as the show cut to commercials. Comeback by Moose after the show returns from the break. Codebreaker by Page, but Moose kicks out.

In a stunt, Moose speared Page through a gimmicked section of the barricade. Another spear by Moose in the ring, only for Page to get his foot on a bottom rope to break a count. Sinclair avoids the interference, but falls for the distraction by Fatal Influence. Jayne with a superkick cut offs Sinclair, and the show heads into the commercial break.

Sinclair makes a comeback after the show returns from the break. Running lariats and butterfly suplex by Sinclair for a two count on Jayne. Sinclairs eats a knee strike. A moment later, Sinclair targets an arm to cut off Jayne. High cross off the top by Sinclair, followed by a cattle mutilation submission hold applied on Jayne in the center of the ring. — Joe Hendry is warming up for his concert with vocal exercises before heading to the ring for his musical performance.

Joe Hendry in concert

he hook for the song: “Join us on CW. You won’t believe your eyes. NXT was the show for me in 2025.”

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) vs. Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes with Jackson Drake)

The entire Vanity Project trio is there with WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake in the corner for Swipe Right. Not sure if OTM are babyfaces, but Swipe Right are definitively heels. The latter are certainly the foils in this tag bout.

Je’Von Evans vs. Ricky Saints

Melee at the start as Evans rushes the start by attacking Saints before the bell. They brawl in a fitting start to a grudge match.

Saints targets a knee, and Saints also sends Evans crashing through a gimmicked section of the barricade, which was similarly located in a section used for a stunt in an earlier match. Evans fights back, which leads to a dive to the outside. They fight atop the announce desk, and Evans springboards off the top rope into a flying clothesline.

Saints cuts off Evans and is pummeling him on the floor when the show cuts to a commercial break. Saints has Evans locked in a guillotine choke as the show returns from the break, but Evans counters into a vertical suplex.

**********

NXT was taped in front of a live studio audience. From a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando, NXT is on the air with a holiday-themed episode.

Opening the show is a singles match in the women’s division.

Lola Vice vs. Izzi Dame (with The Culling)

The match goes through a commercial break, with Dame escaping a sleeper hold just before the show cuts to commercials. When the show returns from the break, Vice escapes a Boston crab. Vice then begins a comeback with a few near falls and an Umaga splash.

At ringside, Shawn Spears distracts Vice trying to trip her feet. That allowed Dame to boot Vice in the face. Suddenly, the noise a chain saw fills the arena. Tatum Paxley is Chainsaw Charlie, as she busts through a gimmicked section of the set wielding a chainsaw. No actual chain on the saw but the motor was revved up, so Shawn Spears ran for his life.

Dame was distracted by the chain saw run-in, and she walked into a spinning back fist from Vice. Dame drops like a stone, and Vice covers her.

Match results: Lola Vice defeated Izzi Dame via pinfall.

In a post-match angle, Kelani Jordan runs in and ambushes Vice. Jordan pummels Vice and stands over her with a scowl.

— NXT Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail talks with Jordynne Grace in a locker room skit. They are watching Hail’s title win from last week. Hail then leaves, as she heads to the ring for a monologue.

— NXT Men’s North American Champion Ethan Page cuts a cocky promo on Myles Borne in another backstage skit. Page talks down to Borne. Page also says people think the main roster is the shark tank, but Page insists that NXT is the shark tank. Sharks from all over the ocean come here. Page says live up to the task or move on. Page also tells Borne he can watch Page take care of TNA’s best talent next week in a match.

Blake Monroe confronts Thea Hail

Thea Hail enters the ring with her newly won Women’s North American title belt. Hail acknowledges last week was controversial, and though she cannot believe she won, Hails still won the title! This has been the greatest week of her life.

Hail gets emotional as the studio audience chants she deserved it. Hail emotions Andre Chase teachings, along with lessons from her friendships have all lead to her becoming the youngest Women’s North American Champion in history.

Blake Monroe interrupts the monologue, and Monroe still looks panicked after last week. Monroe also appears disheveled. Monroe rants about Hail’s title win being a fluke and a mistake. Monroe wants her title back, but Hail says no. Hail insists that Monroe lost clean. Monroe buries the referee from the match.

Hail eventually says she will grant Monroe a rematch next week for the title. Monroe then hits Hail with a cheap shot, and they brawl around the ring until officials separate them.

— Sarah Schreiber interviews Sol Ruca and Zaria. “You can’t control the wave, but you learn how to ride them,” Ruca says. Sage advice from Sol Ruca. She won a match on Saturday Nights Main Event. Thus, Ruca earns a title shot against Chelsea Green. Zaria says Sol deserves her title back, and Zaria will be in her corner to help.

Eli Knight vs. Tavion Heights in a Speed tournament match

Of course, the match was quick with a three-minute time limit, but it was pretty dang good while it lasted. Heights won with a belly-to-belly suplex. Knight got a fly, and he shined during the match. He and Heights shook hands and embraced in a show of good sportsmanship.

With the win, Heighs advanced from the first round of the number one contender’s tournament for a shot at the WWE Speed Championship.

Match result: Tavion Heights defeated Eli Knight via pinfall to advance in the WWE Speed Championship number one contender’s tournament.

— TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and NXT Champion Oba Femi are sitting down for a face-to-face interview alongside Kelly Kincaid.

TNA X-Division Champ Leon Slater face-to-face with NXT Champ Oba Femi

The successful year of Femi is discussed first, with them pointing out many of Femi’s highlights like his run as champion of NXT and wrestling Cody Rhodes. Femi has proven himself as “The Ruler” in NXT. When he recently returned, Femi looks to prove he is the ruler of not just NXT — but WWE itself.

Slater talks about being turned on to wrestling via video games, DVDs, and action figures. He started training at nine years old. It is not so crazy when you have his passion for it. Slater makes moment, and me will make another moment next week at New Year’s Evil when he defeats Femi for the NXT title.

Femi responds by warning Slater’s story will not have a happy ending. Slater insists they will see who speaks louder in their title match. Femi smirks as he agrees, and they shake hands.

Je’Von Evans and Ricky Saints face-to-face

— NXT General Manager Ava is in the ring to host the face-to-face meeting of Saints and Evans. Ava is flanked by security as Saints and Evan enter separately.

Evans wonders why they are talking and not throwing hands. Saints remarks that Evans is so impulsive while speculating he lacks emotional intelligence. Saints takes a dig at Evans over him being too young to rent a car, let alone be the face of the NXT brand.

They banter back-and-forth. Evans accuses Saints of being jealous, so that is why Saints attacks Evans during his match with Oba Femi. Saints scoffs as he rants about how he could be on Good Morning America. Saints further insults Saints about the way he talks.

Evans says that may be true, but Evans points out he was on Raw and Smackdown. Saints was not there. Nor was he on the card for John Cena’s last match like Evans. They banter some more before Ava cuts them off and says they will settle this feud next week in a match. Security keeps them apart. And scene.

— In a backstage skit, Fatal Influence confronts Wren Sinclair and Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne challenges Sinclair to a “warm-up match” next week on NXT. Sinclair accepts the challenge.

Shiloh Hill & Skylar Raye vs. Arianna Grace & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a mixed “Christmas Chaos” match

This was a hardcore match with a Christmas theme, and it was pretty decent in spite of the cheesy holiday gimmick. They took some crazy bumps in the name of comedy. Cliches are king, with holiday-themed weapons like a kendo stick wrapped as a candy cane. Ornaments, presents, wreaths and some yuletide are all used as props.

Hill & Raye jump the heels before the bell, and the brawl is under way. Gimmicks come into play earlier and often, as they brawl through a commercial break. They play on the bowling ball spot from ECW decades ago, except this time it is slapstick comedy. With Hill tied in the corner by a strand of Christmas lights, Grace presents Stacks the gift of a bowling ball. Except she inadvertently gives Stacks a low blow and drops the ball on his foot. Comedy ensues.

On the floor, Grace takes a bump on a Christmas tree in another comedy spot. Hill puts a wreath around Stacks before delivering a guillotine legdrop. Hill & Raye then toss sugar cookies into the crowd, until they are cut off. Moments later, Hill takes Santa’s sack and dumps pines cones on a table. Hill then powerbombs Stacks through the table. Raye then leaps off the top rope with a frog splash on Grace, and Raye covers her for a three count.

Match result: Shiloh Hill & Skylar Raye defeated Arianna Grace & Stacks in a Christmas Chaos match when Raye pinned Grace.

— Joe Hendry appears in a skit where Darkstate are in Ava’s office. Dion Lennox and Darkstate offer warnings to Hendry. After Darkstate leaves, Hendry pitches to Ava a live concert for next week.

— OTM and Swipe Right are on a collision course after another backstage skit. Kelly Kincaid is interviewing OTM when the Vanity Project trio roll up to give Kincaid gifts they originally got for Blake Monroe. OTM take exception to the interruption of their interview, and they issue a warning to Swipe Right.

Andre Chase vs. Lexis King in a WWE Speed tournament match

They both had inset promos like this was an old episode of Superstars of Wrestling from back in the day. Much like matches on that show, this bout was short. That was more because it was a Speed match, instead of a squash. Chase got to shine, but King wins after executing The Coronation.

King advances to the final round of the tournament, where he faces Tavion Heights for a shot at WWE Speed Champion Jasper Troy.

Match result: Lexis King defeated Andre Chase via pinfall to advance in the WWE Speed Championship number one contender’s tournament.

— Hank & Tank gives Tavion Heights a pep talk in a backstage skit that also involved Myles Borne.

Chelsea Green (with Alba Fyre & Ethan Page) vs. Sol Ruca (with Zaria) for the WWE Women’s United States Championship

On commentary, Booker T is able to reference Killer Tim Brooks. That popped me at least. Booker was unhinged at times, and it was hilarious. Meanwhile, a title bout ensues that goes through a commercial break. Green takes a bump outside the ring, which sets up Ruca doing a back flip off the top into a moonsault on the floor. Green and the Secret Hervice are the target.

Ruca gets to shine, and they go on to trade near falls. They also took some big bumps. After Ruca does her signature cartwheel into a DDT, she hooks a leg on Green. Ethan Page interferes by putting Green’s leg on the rope, thus breaking up the pin attempt. Zaria confronts Page at ringside, and she yells at him. Suddenly, Moose runs down to attack Page. They brawl their way off stage.

For the finish itself, Ruca goes for her finisher. However, Alba Fyre interferes by grabbing Ruca’s foot. That allows Green to counter Ruca, and Green drops her with an Unprettier. Green then covers Ruca for a three count. And still…

Match result: WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green defeated Sol Ruca via pinfall to retain her title with the help of outside interference.

In a post-match attack, Zaria spears Green and Fyre. Ruca then executes a double Sol Snatcher on Green and Fyre. Happy ending of sorts as they send viewers into the holidays. But first, a hard sell for next Tuesday night on NXT.

WWE NXT live results: Number one contender’s match

On WWE NXT tonight, we’ll find out Oba Femi’s challenger for New Year’s Evil.

Joe Hendry, Leon Slater, Myles Borne, and Dion Lennox are set to battle it out in a fatal four-way number one contender’s match. The winner advances to New Year’s Evil on January 6 to face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship. It was originally supposed to be Je’Von Evans challenging for the belt, but Evans instead got his match last week and lost to Femi after Ricky Saints interfered.

Jacy Jayne vs. Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship is set for the New Year’s Evil special. Tonight, Grey & Wren Sinclair team up against Jayne’s Fatal Influence allies Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid.

The NXT Women’s North American Championship will be up for grabs tonight as Blake Monroe defends against Thea Hail. Plus, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger take on Bronco Nima & Lucien Price in tag team action.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

The show begins with a recap of current events and happening in NXT, and cut to Je’Von Evans in the parking lot waiting for Ricky Saints to arrive. NXT General Manager approaches Evans and tells him to come inside and talk. Evans stayed outside and Ava remarked sarcastically this was a great start to her night.

NXT is on the air in front of a live studio audience on a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a women’s title match.

Blake Monroe vs. Thea Hail for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

They were having a decent enough match, then came a perplexing finish after the title bout went through a commercial break.

Monroe applies a tarantula hold in the ropes just before the show cuts to a break. The match continues with a split screen. Back from commercial, Hail eventually makes a fiery comeback. She somersaults and springboards into a trust fall senton.

After the senton, Hail covers Monroe and the referee counts three to the astonishment of most everyone. Monroe seemingly got her right shoulder up, but the ref counted anyway. Did he think the shoulder was down and count like it was a shoot? Was it an audible? Who is getting worked here? So many questions, but the only answer is Hail has apparently won the title.

Hail cries when she realizes she is the new champ, while Monroe is in shock. Monroe talks with the ref as Hail parades around the ring with the North American title belt. Much like the opening skit on this episode, this was bizarre. And new…

Match result: Thea Hail defeated NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe via pinfall to win the title.

— The Culling faction acts weird and get scared of a doll that reminds them of Tatum Paxley. Izzi Dame basically reassures the group she has things under control.

— North American Champion Ethan Page is headed to the ring for a monologue as the show cuts to a commercial break.

— After the break comes a recap of the title change from moments ago, just in case viewers thought it was a fever dream.

Triple confrontation between Ethan Page, Stacks, and Moose

Co-holder of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship and current NXT Men’s North American Champion, Ethan Page, saunter down the aisle for a in-ring promo. Page is angry about being attacked by Tony D’Angelo, who jumped Page as part of a gimmick makeover that began at the last NXT PLE. Page cuts a promo on D’Angelo.

Page is interrupted by a former associate of D’Angelo, which is TNA International Champion Stacks. He is joined by Arianna Grace, who is wearing his title belt around her like a sash. Stacks says Grace wants more gold for Christmas, and they have their sights on the AAA Mixed tag titles. Page objects to Stacks interrupting him.

Out comes Moose to interrupt the proceedings, and he objects to someone from NXT holding a TNA title. But this is Stacks’ lucky day because Moose currently has his sights on Page and his title. Moose reveals that Page will defend his North American title against Moose on December 30.

Scuffle ensues and Page powders. He flees to fight another day, like December 30 perhaps.

— Leon Slater is outside in the parking lot trying to convince Je’Von Evans to come inside the building. Slater wants Evans in his corner tonight, and Evans agrees to have Slater’s back in his match later on. They go inside.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price)

These teams rematch in a hoss fight, and they trade wins in a continuation of their feud. The finish here could easily lead to a rubber match. This particular hoss fight goes through a commercial break, and they were given a lot of time to beat the heck out of each other.

Nima & Price look strong as the show cuts to commercial break, having thrown Hank & Tank into each other. Double power bombs. Hank & Tank are down, but they fight back when the show returns from the break. They take their jerseys off as they fire up for the finish. OTM seemingly cut them off, but not for long.

Haphazardly, there is a collision as Nima attempts to suplex Hank. Tank springboards into a shoulder block that sends Price crashing into his partner. That allows Hank to secure a small package on Nima for a three count out of nowhere. Hank & Tank get their win back.

Match results: Hank Walker & Tank Ledger defeated Bronco Nima & Lucien Price when Hank pinned Bronco.

— Ricky Saints arrives and exits a SUV along with a gang of security.

— WWE Speed Champion Jasper Troy is talking with Ava when she informs him a new Speed tournament starts next week. The tournament decides Troy next challenger, but Troy vows to destruction on any challenger.

Attack on Ricky Saints backfires for Je’Von Evans

Ricky Saints delivers a monologue before he is attacked by Je’Von Evans. Saints, despite his security acting as bumbling henchmen, thwarts the attack. Saints then puts Evans through the announce desk for his troubles. Saints is now a dastardly heel after being a babyface character mere weeks ago. At this rate he will turn more times than Jerry Lawler in Memphis.

First, Saints cuts a promo while drowned in boos from the live studio audience. Saints is not here to offer any apologies, and Saints proceeds to lay out his grievances pertaining to his recent heel turn. Saints cuts a promo on Evans, which leads to Evans running in for an attack.

Saints’ security team cannot handle a fiery Evans. Saints and Evans brawl on the floor, where Saints sends Evans crashing into the metal steps. Saints then gives Evans a Roshambo on the announce desk, and Evans crashes through the desk. Evans is laid out as Saints stands tall.

Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) vs. Wren Sinclair & Kendal Grey

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is ringside for guest commentary alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T. She would go on to interfere in the match.

The tag match itself went through a commercial break, as they were given some time. Jayne distracts Sinclair before the break, allowing Henley to swing around the ring post to kick Sinclair. Heat on Sinclair during the break, and the babyface team eventually get a hot tag.

Grey runs wild after a hot tag, and she gets a near fall on Henley. Grey goes or an armbar, but Jayne jumps on the apron to cause a distraction. Jayne is knocked off the apron, and Sinclair leaps off the top turnbuckle with a high cross on Jayne and Reid.

Grey is somewhat distracted, but she kicks out when Henley goes for an O’Connor Roll. They then go into the finish, where Grey takes down Henley with a cross armbar. Henley tapped out and the babyface team wins by submission. Jayne’s next challenger won the match for her team, much to chagrin of Jayne and company.

Match result: Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair defeated Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid when Grey submitted Henley.

— New Women’s North American Champion Thea Hail is interviewed by Kelly Kincaid in a backstage skit. Hail says she has been crying over winning the title. Enter Jordynne Grace, who congratulates Hail on winning the title. Former champ Blake Monroe enters the scene to bitch about losing the title, but Grace tells her to get out of here. Hail then hugs Grace to end a goody skit.

— Izzi Dame is talking on a phone, as Niko Vance is missing. The skit leads to Lola Vice having words with Dame, and Vice then bickers with Kelani Jordan. She was returning to the locker room, and Jordan argues with Vice while unpacking her belongings.

— In another skit, a mixed tag match is set up with the LFG winners against Arianna Grace & Stacks. Shiloh Hill is chatting with Skylar Rayer when Stacks barges in alongside Grace. This led to challenge for a mixed tag bout.

— Main event time and all of them in a fatal four-way get an entrance. Darkstate enters with Lennox, but the rest of the faction leaves before the match starts.

Dion Lennox vs. Joe Hendry vs. Leon Slater vs. Myles Borne in a fatal four-way NXT Championship number one contender’s match

Why a fatal four-way? Why not?! It makes more sense than most of the things on this show. They are at least trying to get people over, for better or worse. The four-way match was at least pretty dang good. All four got to shine, and they did some cool spots at time. That includes a Tower of Doom spot after a commercial break.

Near falls and false finishes as they go home. Hendry fires up and is on a roll. He military presses Slater and tosses him outside the ring into the waiting arms of Lennox. Slater himself was able to shine earlier on his array of aerial offense.

They tease Hendry winning the title as h executes a finisher on Borne. Hendry goes for a cover, but Lennox pulls Hendry out of the ring to break the count. Hendry and Lennox then brawl at ringside, as they seem programmed together in a feud. Slater leaps off the top rope with a Swanton 450, and he hooks a leg to cover Borne for the deciding pinfall.

Match result: Leon Slater defeated Myles Borne, Joe Hendry, and Dion Lennox in a fatal four-way match to become number one contender for the NXT Championship.

In winning, Slater is now the number one contender for the NXT Championship. Vic Joseph on commentary noted a TNA wrestler won the chance for a NXT title match.

NXT Champion Oba Femi enters the sound stage for a stare down with Leon Slater. Femi poses with the title belt, and the camera pans over to show Tony D’Angelo looking on above the crowd.

**********

It’s past Deadline, so I guess this episode is… late? Or something? Anyways, NXT is on the air with open challenges! New champions! A guy named Shiloh! And to kick it all off the new 2x NXT Champion Oba Femi!

-Femi danced his way to the ring to kick off the show, fresh off his crowd appearance on Monday Night Raw. Femi began a speech about the nature of power, how it never begs and stands still, etc. He gave respect to Ricky Saints and said that his reclaiming of the NXT Title was the will of the universe. Next, he mentioned Cody Rhodes, who Femi will face in a non title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He said that Rhodes will get him in all his glory.

Suddenly, Ricky Saints music hit and the man himself dejectedly sauntered to the ring, mic in hand. Saints said that he is man enough to admit that Femi was better man at Deadline. Saints said that there was a moment when he thought his chance to be NXT Champion had passed. But then he remembered that he is Ricky Saints and that he wants a rematch for the title.

Continuing the promo parade, Je’Von Evans’ music hit and the Young OG came out to interrupt. He reminded everyone that he won the Iron Survivor Challenge and has a title shot coming at New Years Evil. But why should he wait? He challenged Femi to a match tonight.

Saints asked “what’s the rush?” Evans said that he’s no longer “the future” he’s the “now” and no one is touching him right now. Saints agreed and said that Evans could go first. Then Femi got upset, wondering why these “beltless” guys were dictating terms.

Femi said that he’s not afraid of Evans, because he’s never beaten Femi. He then gave him the title shot for tonight!

-After a break, Tatum Paxley cut a promo about her loss to Izzi Dame at Deadline. She said that she has nothing left to lose, but Dame does. She then held up action figures of Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Paxley laughed on her way off camera.

Kelani Jordan vs Jordynne Grace

Jordan and Grace have had a long history of battling not just in NXT, but over the TNA Knockouts Championship as well. At Deadline, they pretty much cost each other the match and started a Sheamus/Rusev fight in the back. No word on when that fight actually ended, but they are here tonight to go one-on-one in the actual ring.

Grace and Jordan started brawling before Grace even made it to the ring. Grace dropped Jordan with a serise of scoop slams and a Michinoku driver. Jordan fought back and delivered a big boot to Grace off of a suplex attempt.

Grace sent Jordan into the corner but missed the Grace Under Pressure, giving Jordon an opening to start working Grace’s leg. She dropped a bunch of elbows on it then hung Grace up on the ropes. Jordan joined her on the apron where they traded shots.

Grace tried to suplex Jordanoff the apron, but had it blocked. They went back and forth until Grace went to drop a knee and Jordan moved, causing Grace to slam her kneecap against the apron (the knee-est part of the ring!).

Back in the ring, Jordan went back to working the knee, wrapping Grace’s leg around the ring post and stretched it both ways. Then she went for a cover, but Grace kicked out at two while Booker T talked about absolutely nothing. Honestly, never have I heard a man take soe many words to say so little.

Anyway, Jordan stomped the knee and hung Grace up in the tree of woe in the corner. Grace pulled her off the turnbuckle by the hair though and the two traded forearms in the ring.

Grace went for a stretch muffler, but Jordan got out of it, slamming Grace’s head to the mat and sliding out of the ring. Grace followed and Jordan chop-blocked her knee. She then bounced Grace’s head off the steel steps and went under the ring for a chair.

She swung, but Grace moved and she hit the stairs with the chair. Grace used that to jump back into the ring with Jordan. She locked on a leg hold, but Jordan wouldn’t tap. Grace threw a few short arm clotheslines and Jordan whiffed on a kick.

On the outside, Grace managed to hit a Grace Under Presssure and grabbed a chair. Jordan then drove Grace through the barricade. Dragging her back into the ring, Jordan went up and nailed a 450 splash to get the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Kelani Jordan defeated Jordynne Grace

-After a break, the women of NXT were shown warming up(?) in the back. Jordynne Grace was lamenting her loss to Kelani Jordan. She was told by Thea Hale to buck up, she’s Jordynne Grace after all.

-Blake Monroe made her way to the ring next for her Women’s North American Title Open Challenge. She grabbed a mic and said that the women of NXT see her as a role model and with the Holidays coming up, she feels like giving back. She then asked to see who will be answering the challenge.

Literally all the women of NXT came out and Monroe started calling for Ava. Suddenly Thea Hale arrived and jumped Monroe from behind. She pinned her quickly and celebrated, but oops! The Open Challenge had never started. Whomp-Whomp. #LOL

-Shilo Hill was interviewed about his upcoming debut singles match and he used a lot of $10 words to say he’s ready. Then he put in a mouthguard and left.

Shiloh HiIl vs Lexis King

King was already in the ring as we came back from break, but Hill, winner of LFG Season 2, got a big entrance. King tried to jump him during his opening pose, but Hill saw it coming. The bell rang and Hill started throwing King around the ring.

King sent Hill into ther corner for a dropkick and slowed the pace down, chopping and punching Hill. King got cocky though and played a little too much to the crowd. Hill charged out of the corner and he and King collided in stereo clotheslines.

Hill began to hulk up, which to him means removing his mouth guard? Anyway, King hit a superkick, but Hill no-sold it as if he loved the pain. He put King up for a Whisper To The Beast cutter and that was it. Hill gets the victory and King’s transformation into CJ Parker is almost complete.

Match Result: Shiloh Hill defeated Lexis King

-After the break, Oba Femi was interviewed in the back about his upcoming title defense against Je’Von Evans. Femi said that he has learned to expect the unexpected and he hopes Cody Rhodes is watching because he’s going to see what Femi can do. He promised to break Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event and to break Evans tonight.

-Ethan Page then made his way to the ring. Page said that he came to NXT to ask the hard questions and do things Old School, body by body. He ran down other wrestlers using social media to try and gain clout. Page then said that John Cena will be forgotten in a week after his retirement, leaving a space for someone with a “huge ego” (aka Page).

Page said that he is 1 of 1 and the most important guy in WWE. Suddenly the lights went out and the same footage of Tony D’Angelo that was shown at Deadline aired. When the lights came up, a very sad-looking D’Angelo picked up Page in the ring and smashed him to the mat.

-After a break, GM Ava called the participants of the men’s Iron Survivor match to her office. She is going to give them a fatal four way #1 Contender’s match because they were all tied. Suddenly, Ethan PAge burst in complaining about Tony D’angelo. Then it was over.

Sol Ruca vs Wren Sinclair

Ruca was in the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline with Sinclair’s best friend (and eventuial winner of the match) Kendal Grey, who accompanied Sinclair to the ring. Ruca came out alone, but she is facing Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event, so she’s got that going for her.

The bell rang and they locled up with Rucal sending Sinclair to the corner. Sinclair shook off Ruca and her attempts at a waist lock and sent her into the ropes. Sinclair tried to roll Ruca up, but only got a teo count.

Ruca landed an X-Factor for a two count of her own when Zaria appeared in the crowd. Ruca looked at her forlornly, and Sinclair tried to steal one with a rollup. Rucak kicked out, but Sinclair hit a big bulldog and turned her attention to Ruca’s previously injured knee.

As Zaria watched, Ruca hit a back elbow and missile dropkick. Sinclair got her with a butterfly suplex though. Ruca turned it back around with a backstabber and Soul Snatcher to get the pin and victory.

Match Result: Sol Ruca defeated Wren Sinclair

-After the match, Ruca exited through the crowd to try and catch up with Zaria. Fatal Influence’s music hit and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid made their way to the ring.

Kendal Grey and Sinclair were still in the ring and Jayne started in on the Evolve Women’s Champion, Grey. She told her that it’s never going to get better for her so she should enjoy these moments of crowd support. Jayne said that Grey’s 15 minutes of fame are going to be up when they meet at New Years Evil.

Jayne said that 2025 was the year of Jacy Jayne. She held the NXT and TNA women’s titled at the same time and everyone realized this year that she is a rock star and the glue that holds NXT together. Grey doesn’t stand a chance.

Grey responded by saying that she understands she’s the rookie, the up-and-comer and has a lot to learn. But no one (even her) expected her to win the Iron Survivor challenge. She has shown that she can rise to the occasion and Jayne shouldn’t underestimate her. Becuase this underdog bites back.

Reid and Sinclair jawed a bit and Henley sucker punched Grey and the beatdown was on. The damned numbers game got to Sinclair and Wren with Fatal Influence beating up both until the segment came to a close.

-Next, Hank and Tank appeared in kimonos, back from their trip to Japan. Their return was cut short when OTM showed up and said they should have stayed in Japan. So, as you do, Hank and Tank challenged them to a match next week.

-After a break, Blake Monroe barrelled into GM Ava’s office. She blamed Ava for the fiasco that was her open challenge. Monroe declared “no more open challenges ever.” Ava said that was fine becuase she is going to defend her North American Title against Thea Hale next week.

-The scene shifted and Sol Ruca finally tracked down Zaria in the parking lot. Ruca invited Zaria to Saturday Night’s Main Even and they hugged and made up.

NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs Je’Von Evans

Evans cashed in his title shot from the Iron Survivor Challenge to get this match tonight instead of at New Years Evil. Ricky Saints was there and agreed to hold onto his rematch with Femi and step aside so Evans could take his shot first. Femi for his part shrugged his shoulders and said “sure, whatever” but in a way much more menacing way.

Just let me say, I cannot wait for the day when Oba Femi has to dance his way down a 200ft Wrestlemania ramp.

The two locked up off the top with Femi driving Evans into the corner. Evans hit a superkick out of the corner into a cutter, trying to steal one, but Femi blocked it. Evans hit a surprise knee and actually got a 2.5 count out of it.

That fired Femi up though and he started chopping the much, much, much smaller Evans. Femi sent Evans off the ropes and Evans turned it into an insiguri for another two count. Evans’ strategy was clearly leveraging his explosive bounciness.

Femi picked Evans up in a stalling backbreaker and folded Evans in half. He put on a face lock and Evans started throwing elbows. He hit a dropkick that sent Femi out of the ring. Evans followed and went for a springboard, but Femi caught his ankle and threw him at the ground. Femi threw Evans at the ring apron, but Evans jumped up and turned it into a spingboard.

Femi caught him and slammed him against the ring. Femi dropped Evans face-first on the ring apron (the faciest part of the ring!) and climbed back in.

Femi threw a big lariat and stomped Evans in the center of the ring. Femi slammed Evans knee into the mat and stalked over to him for more stomping. The he did a little ab workout after suplexing Evans, who looked like he had the wind knocked out of him.

Evans and Femi traded punches until Femi grabbed Evans for another backbreaker. Femi set Evans up for a powerbomb, but Evans crumpled to the mat. Evans tried swinging from his knees, but Femi just knocked him back down.

Femi pciked up Evans who used his legs to send him out of the ring. Evans followed and Femi looked to powerbomb him through the table. Evans reversed it and Femi backed off and charged. Evans dodged and Femi went flying across the Announce table.

Both made it back to the ring to break the count, but Evans was waiting for Femi with two frog splashes for a 2.75 count. Evans started taking shots into Femi’s gut and hit a spinning kick to send him out of the ring. Evans dove after him and landed it, tossing Femi back into the ring. He went for a springboard, but Femi caught him with forearm on the way down.

Evans hit a quick cutter, but Femi kicked out. Femi came back with a huge shot, but this time Evans kicked out at two. Femi threw Evans across the ring and Evans came back with another two cutters and a pin 1-2- and Ricky Saints pulled the ref out of the ring!

Evans ate a big lariat from Femi in the ring who hit the Fall From Grace on Evans to get the win and retain the NXT Title.

Match Result: Oba Femi defeated Je’Von Evans

**********

It’s not a byline, feline or sideline! It’s NXT Deadline!

The show kicked off with a video recap of time itself and tonight’s card. Then Vic Joseph walked us through the Traditional Wrestlers Arriving To Work montage that we’ve come to know and love. After that, as promised, for the first time ever the NXT Championship kicked off an NXT PLE!

NXT Championship Match: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Oba Femi

Way back at NXT No Mercy, Ricky Saints managed to put down the absolute monster that is Oba Femi and win the NXT Championship. Naturally, a few weeks later, Femi demanded a rematch which Saints agreed to. During the legally mandated contract signing for said match, NXT General Manager Ava revealed that this would be the opening bout of Deadline.

Then, for reasons only he knows, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, declared that the winner of the NXT Championship match would also face Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec 13. It may be for the title, it may just be for laughs, but Femi is a superstar powerhouse in the making and Saints has main event written all over him. So either way, our eyeballs win!

The bell rang and Saints went right for Femi’s leg, trying to get the big man off his feet. He did not succeed and Femi threw him into the corner. Saints put Femi and a wristlock and managed to block Femi’s attempts to power out of it. Eventually though, Femi turned it into a backbreaker.

Femi then started yanking Saints arm, seemingly to pull it out of its socket. Saints defended himself, but it didn’t seem to have muchh effect as Femi dropped him Snakeyes-style on the top turnbuckle. Saints managed to fight back and do his best Undertaker impression by walking the ropes and going “old school.” That actually put Femi on the mat and Saints took advantage, stomping him.

Femi didged a dropkick though and caught Saints by the throat. Saints broke free and hit a missile dropkick from the top rope for the match’s first two count. Saints went for a crossbody but Femi caught him and turned it into a backbreaker. Femi then hoisted Saints above his head and dropped him onto the mat.

Femi tried some simple strikes, wearing Saints down bit by bit. He sent him into the corner and peppered Saints’ midsection with jabs. Duelling chants broke out as Femi and Saints traded shots in the ring. Saints seemed to power up, and hit a series of kicks and elbows that staggered Femi. Next, Saints hit a Hurricanrana followed by a spear and got a 2.75 count before Femi kicked out.

Saints then tried the unthinkable and attempted to lift Femi. It did not work out and they traded quick moves until Saints hit a stunner, complete with Femi doing a Scott Hall reaction in taking it. Saints then threw on a reverse boyd scissor/chin lock submission, but Femi stood up.

Saints kept it on tight though and Femi sank back to his knees. Digging deep he stood up and dropped Starkz gut-first onto the top rope. Femi charged and Saints pulled down the top rope sending him out. Saints then dove after him, driving Femi into the announce table. Femi took his time but beat the count out by scrambling back into the ring.

Femi picked up some steam and threw Saints into the corner. He then threw himself into the corner and hit an elbow. Saints tried to steal one, but Femi kicked out. Femi then planted Saints with a shoulder slam, but Saints kicked out as well.

Femi miscalculated a charge and went straight into the ring post. He rolled out to recover, but Saints charged from the apron. Femi saw it coming and clotheslined him. Saints rolled off onto the steps and Femi charged but Saints moved and Femi hit his knee. Saints then hit an arround the world DDT on the steel steps before putting Femi back in.

Saints hoisted Femi up, but Femi countered it into a jack knife powerbomb for a very near two-count. Saints charged and Femi caught him with a sit-out fall from grace powerbomnb. Saints struggled, but Femi pinned him 1-2-3 to reclaim the NXT title and a chance to take on Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Match Result: Oba Femi defeated Ricky Saints

Saints was a good champion, but Femi is just so powerful. Literally and as a character. This wasn’t a exciting as their first match, but was still very intense and a lot of fun.

-After an interview with Kendall Grey (spoiler: she’s happy to be in the Iron Survivor Challenge), Sol Ruca was shown on Facetime talking with Zaria. They decided that they need to talk when they are next in the same place. Then Ruca had to leave for the match.

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Kendal Grey

During NXT: Gold Rush NXT General Manager Ava announced that the participants in the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenge matches would be selected by John Cena himself. Hey, Ava, isn’t that your job? No fair passing the buck to the guy on the way out the door! Anyway, Cena landed on Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, Jordynne Grace, and WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey, reminding everyone that yes, Evolve is still a thing. The winner of this match also becomes the #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Title and gets their shot at New Year’s Evil.

If you’re here, you probably know how Iron Survivor matches work, but if you’re with someone, a friend, or grandparent who doesn’t know, here’s how it works: 2 Wrestlers start off, with three more entering at 5-minute intervals. The goal is to have the most pinfalls and submissions at the end of the 25 minutes. If a wrestler is DQ’d, pinned or submits, they have to go to a penalty box for 90 seconds, which is so adorable I could squee.

0:00-5:00

Grey and Jordan were the opening contenders and Jordan started toying with the Evolve Champion. Grey fought back though, holding her own and looking good, working out of a bridge suplex and pin from Jordan.

Grey went to work on Jordan’s leg, stomping and slamming it. The two rolled through a few pinning combinations and Grey went to sweep Jordan out of the ring. Jordan jumped and stomped Grey on the ring apron (the Ironest part of the ring!) before tossing her back in for a Northern Lights suplex.

Grey started laying right hands into Jordan’s stomach, bit Jordan worked her into two quick pin attempts after a backbreaker. Jordan hung Grey up on the ropes and then landed a big leg drop. Jordan went up for a frog splash, but Grey dodged it. She hit a big slam after it though and pinned Jordan to get the first point.

5:00-10:00

Grace ran to the ring and immediately sent Jordan packing. She turned her attention to Grey, sending her face first into the turnbuckle. Grace hit the Grace Under Pressure and got a two count before Grey kicked out.

Grace hit a sunset flip bomb and locked in a submission lock, but Jordan returned an broke it up before Grey could tap. Grey and Jordan rolled each other up until Grey put an ankle lock on Jordon. Jordon rolled her up for a quick pin to get her first point in the match and set Grey to the penalty box.

That let Grace and Jordon go at it, trading shots and quick slams, but not giving up or gaining any points. As soon as Grey exited the Box, Grace was there to hit her with a lariat. Jordan hit a spinning dive on Grace and went back into the ring. Grace and Grey followed and Jordan went up top.

She threw off Grey and Grace once, but Grace stacked Grey and Jordan up for a supler plex.

10:00 – 15:00

Lola Vice sprinted to the ring and immediately got a pin on Grey, scoring a point. Grey went to the box and Vice took out Grace and Jordon with her patented brand of butt-based offense. She suplexed Jordon, but Jordon kicked out. Grace did the same, so Vice went back to stomping Jordon.

Grey came out of the box with some steam, knocking Vice down and arm dragging Jordon. She put Grace in a scissor submission and managed to roll her up for a pinfall and second point. Jordon grabbed Grey and stomped her into the corner.

Grey interrupted her split-legged moonsault and threw Jordan with a super German suplex. Vice tried to steal one by pinning Jordon, but Grey broke it up before she could get the point. Grey they put an arm lock on Vice. Grace kicked the penalty box door open and took out Jordon who was for some reason standing in front of it.

Grace then suplexed Grey and Vice, getting two counts from both. She grabbed Jordon and pinned her to get her first point in the match.

15:00 – 25:00

Ruca bounded to the ring and was attacked by Jordon who was supposed to be in the pentaly box. She injured Ruca’s knee and doctor’s helped her to the back.

In the ring, Grace was trying desperately to get pins, but no joy. Vice tried to focus on Grey, but Grace took her out with a shoulder block. She lifted Grey and slammed her, going for a Five Knuckle Shuffle in tribute to John Cena.

Jordan returned from the Box at that point and interrupted it. Vice took her down and Grey grabbed Jordan’s arms. Grey and Vice tried to throw her, but Jordon landed on her feet. Jordan then took a Spanish Fly on the outside and Ruca came charging down and pinned Jordan and Vice in quick succession.

Ruca then dominated the match with her knee in a brace. She cleaned house, but couldn’t get a pin. Grey jumped and Sol grabbed her, slamming her to the mat and slapping on a Dragon Sleeper. Grace then turned them both over in a half crab.

Vice stormed out of the Box and broke it all up. Ruca landed an X Marks The Spot, but then Grace Death Valley Drivered her. Grey hit Shades of Grey on Grace, but Jordan broke it up and stole the pin.

Grey and Vice threw hands in the corner while Ruca and Jordan did the same. Ruca dispatched Jordan and leapt onto Grey and Vice. Jordan Slammed Vice and went for a 450, but Vice moved. Grace ran back in and suplexed them both at the same time. She hit a Blue Thunder bomb on Jordan to pick up a Pin.

Vice pinned Grey and it was a 5-way tie with 2 minutes left.

Ruca slammed Grace spine first onto the ring apron and Vice locked a sleeper on her on the outside. Ruca broke the hold and climbed the stairs. She hit a Sol Snatcher from the steps and threw Vice back into the ring.

Ruca tried to get back in, but Jordan took her out with a cheap shot and hit a 450 on Vice in the ring. Grey came out and hit a Shaes of Grey on Vice to score a point with 3 seconds left. The clock rand out and the Iron Survivor was Kendel Grey!

Match Result: Kendal Grey (3) defeated Sol Ruca (2), Lola Vice (2), Kelani Jordan (2) and Jordynne Grace (2)

Wow that was a ton of fun! The action was fast a furious and with the penalty box, there were none of those awkward moments in multi-person matches where participants just disappear. Great match and effort by everyone involved.

-Backstage, Blake Monroe told GM Ava that she is offering up an open challenge for her North American Championship on Tuesday. Ava warned her that could cause her more problems than solve them, hinting that Monroe couldn’t defend the titie without help. Monroe seemed oblivious to this and the segment ended.

-Myles Borne was interviewed to let us know which entry spot he’s chosen for the men’s Iron Survival Challenge. He declared that after some thought, he will come out third. They were interrupted though by Jordynne Grace and Kelani Jordan brawling nearby.

NXT North American Championship Match: Ethan Page (c) vs. Mr. Iguana

At the start of November, Ethan Page and Chelsea Green defeated Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra to win the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship. At the beginning of December, NXT General Manager Ava casually reminded Page that he also needed to defend his NXT North American Championship. Page scoffed, saying nobody wants to face him. Ava said she knew someone who did, before introducing Iguana, who then STOLE PAGE’S CAR. No police were called, but it was announced that Page and Iguana would face off at Deadline. No word on who gets the car.

The two locked up off the top with Page throwing Iguana to the mat, causing him to play dead as he does. Page acted like he’d never seen it before and didn’t hit him or pin him or anything.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Iguana came back to life as the crowd chanted for him. Page put on a wristlock and Iguana countered it into a rollup. Page kicked out and continued to be shocked and surprise by Iguana’s antics. Iguana ate a DDT while reaching for his puppet and Page pulled him up to the top turnbuckle.

Iguana hit Page with his puppet, sending him to the mat. Iguana leapt at him with a crossbody for a two count. Iguana then hit an Iguanarana (I don’t know if that’s actually what it’s called, but it should be) and sent Page to the outside.

When Iguana followed, Page grabbed him and sent him into the steel steps before throwing him back into the ring. Page hit a back elbow, knocking Iguana to the mat. He slapped him and Iguana went back to playing dead. Not as long this time though.

Iguana hit a headscissor followed by a flying shoulder to daze Page. He grabbed the puppet and had him “bite” Page’s hand. Iguana went up top, but Page powerslammed him, enraged. Page threw some stuff punches and big boots at Iguana, knocking him silly(er).

Page grabbed the puppet and blew snot on it before throwing it up the entrance ramp. Iguana popped up full of rage and chopped Page against the ropes, followed by a DDT. Page went up top with Iguana on his shoulders and set up a Super Ego’s Edge. Iguana countered it into a super hurricanrana.

Page left the ring and Iguana dove after him. Page went back in the ring and Iguana hit a missile headbutt from the top rope to get a two count. Iguana went back up top, but Page caught him and threw him off. Page then hit a Twisted Grin and got the pin to score the victory.

Match Result: Ethan Page defeated Mr. Iguana

Fun mid-card match from these two. Iguana is a silly character and Page played the equal parts of not taking him seriously and taking him too seriously perfectly. I thought the playing dead bit went on a bit too long, but I loved when Page got fed up and worked to end it. Great use of Iguana and Ethan Page is always great!

-Kendal Grey was interviewed backstage and seemed as shocked as anyone that she won the Iron Survivor Challenge. Sol Ruca came by and said that she wouldn’t have won if Ruca was at 100%. the scene switched to DarkState getting ready for the Iron Survivor Challenge. Oba Femi wandered by to make sure they knew he won his match. Dion Lennox said the Femi will see him at New Years Evil.

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame (with Niko Vance and Shawn Spears)

Tatum Paxley managed to defeat Jacy Jayne at Halloween Havoc to win the NXT Women’s Championship. However, in the rematch, Paxley was betrayed by The Culling with Dame attacking Paxley, resulting in her losing the title back to Jayne. Dame said that she betrayed Paxley because she didn’t listen to her and that Paxley acted like she was too good for The Culling. Dame then challenged Paxley to this match at Deadline. Jacy Jayne continued to be awesome, in case you were wondering. Which you should have been.

Spears and Vance got into the ring during Paxley’s entrance and leered at her. Dame tried to jump her from behind, but Paxley caught her. The two seemed to be moving towards maybe making up as friends, but Dame essentially winked at the crowd and Paxley caught her, kicking off the match with some punches.

Paxley hit a really cool spinning stomp and Dame bailed out of the ring. She begged Paxley not to leap on her, so Paxley climbed down and helped her up. They hugged and Dame immediately threw her into the steel stairs.

Dame threw Paxley back into the ring and put her through the paces. Paxley sent her to the corner and tried a crossbody but Dame caught her in a Military Press. She threw forearms in the corner and then hooked Paxley into a spinning backbreaker.

Dame continued playing mind games with Paxley, luring her in and then putting knees in her gut. Paxley countered a spin move into a sleeper hold, but Dame drove her into the corner to break it. Dame threw her into the ring post and then dropped a big boot on Paxley’s head.

Dame hit another backbreaker and then put on a Boston Crab to push Paxley to submit. Paxley dragged them both towards the ropes, finally touching them. The ref didn’t make her break the hold for some reason and instead she adjusted into a Walls of Jericho.

Paxley almost got a quick rollup, but Dame kicked out at two. She mocked Paxley for not fighting back hard enough and then slapped the proverbial taste out of her mouth. That brought a wild smile to Paxley’s face and she unleashed a flurry of kicks, slaps and slams, completely reversing the momentum of the match.

Paxley went up top, but Dame was able to punch her in the stomach once she got there. Dam scrambled up for a superplex, but Paxley threw her off and leapt. Dame met her with a dropkick and then a spinning neckbreaker, but Paxley kicked out of the cover.

The two former friends traded shots in the middle of the ring with Paxley landing a superkick. She grabbed dame in a crucifix and sent her to the apron. Paxley then rand into her, knocking them both out of the ring. She used the announce table as a springboard to kick Dame, then cleared it off.

Paxley picked up Dame and laid her out on the table. She climbed up and Dame begged her to stop. Paxley scooped her up and slammed her onto the table. Paxley threw Dame back in the ring, but Spears stepped in between them and handed Paxley her dolls.

Paxley stepped towards the ring and Spears grabbed the “Paxley” doll and ripped it’s head off. Paxley slapped him and got back in the ring where Dame was waiting with the big boot. She nailed it and pinned Paxley to get the win.

Match Result: Izzi Dame defeated Tatum Paxley

What that match did was tell a really, really good story. From Paxley going from defeated to rage, to the minimal but effective interference of Spears it was a story from start to finish. It leaves me asking where Paxley and the Culling go next, which is what I should be thinking!

-In the locker room, Ricky Saints was lamenting his lost to Oba Femi with Je’Von Evans. Evans tried to cheer him up, but Saints said that he will never get another chance to be champion because the “monster” Femi was back. Evans said that if he wins Iron Survival tonight, he won’t be waiting for New Year’s Evil. He did not elaborate on what that means.

-It was then announced via really, really long video that Shiloh Hill will be debuting in NXT on Tuesday.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Je’Von Evans vs. TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater vs. Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne

Like the women’s match earlier, John Cena put together the participants of this match and picked Je’Von Evans, TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater, Joe Hendry, and Dion Lennox. The last spot was earned by Borne by defeating Trick Williams. And just to top it all off, whoever survives this match gets an NXT Championship match at New Year’s Evil. Got it? Cool, let’s fight!

0:00-5:00

Slater and Evans started the match which was 1000% the right call. The clock started and Evans went right for a springboard cutter. Slater dodged it and they bounced around each other. They tied up with Slater dropping down to take Evans legs out from under him.

Evans bounced back up and hit a headscissor. Slater and Evans grabbed each other’s feet and then negotiated letting them go. Evans tried to slip out, but Slater dragged him for it. Slater changed gears and threw some punches in Evans’ gut.

Evans hit a bouncing hurricanrana off the top rope, but Slater kicked out. Neither man could score a point. Evans threw Slater to the corner and the two traded tops. Evans knocked Slater unto the ropes, but Slater countered into a rollup and they went back and forth trying to steal a three.

Evans hit a quick hurricanrana and pinned Slater to get the first point of the match.

5:00-10:00

Miles Borne was the next entrant and he went right for Evans, dropping an elbow on his throat. Evans roared back with a superkick, but Borne hit a high angle suplex to get a two count. Evans tossed Borne out as Slater got out of the box and leapt on Evans, getting a two.

Borne came back into the rung and Slater kicked him before flipping over the ropes with Evans. They fought on the outside and Borne leapt onto both of them. He thew Evans back in and tried to pin him for a two count. Borne grabbed Slater for the same treatment, but again, kick out.

Borne put Slater in one corner, Evans in the other and rotated hitting them. Slater came back and chopped the air out of Borne’s lungs, surprising even him. Borne dispatched Evans and then knocked Slater to the mat. Evans kicked up at Borne and they threw forearms.

Slater went for a springboard, but Borne and Evans caught him in midair. Evans hit a suplex and a splash on Slater, but only got a two count. Borne had been sent to the ropes by Slater.

10:00-15:00

Dion Lennox came out next, charging to the ring and running rampant on Borne, Evans and Slater. Hit hit a northern lights suplex on Borne, but couldn’t get the pin. Slater popped up and hung Lennox up on the ropes. Evans pulled him off and threw hands at Lennox in the corner.

Slater and Evans took turns stomping Lennox while Borne recovered in the corner. Lennox went up top and Slater and Evans followed. Before either could do anything, Borne came over and got Slater in an electric chair. Lennox turned it into a doomsday device. Off of that he scooped up Evans and slammed him for a pin and a point.

Lennox and Borne went at each other, with Borne getting a headlock. Slater flew in through and Borne caught him and went for a pin. No dice as Slater kicked out. Slater kicked Borne to the mat and went up top, but Evans came out of the Box and shoved him off.

Evans flew at Borne and Lennox, hitting Borne with a splash to try and get a point, but Borne kicked out. Lennox grabbed Evans, but Borne pulled him down and went at Lennox as…

15:00-25:00

He appeared! Joe Hendry joined the match, scoop slamming Evans, then Borne, then Evans AND Slater at the same time. Hendry started a stomp with the crowd and was about to engage Slater, but Lennox interrupted. Hendry went toe to toe with him, throwing him out of the ring.

Hendry tossed Evans and Slater out there too and jumped over the ropes onto them. He got back in and hit Borne with a slam, pinning him for a point.

Hendry then got rolled up by Evans, but kicked out at two. Hendry, Slater and Evans traded pinning combinations until Evans and Slater started spamming superkicks, taking everyone out, including each other.

Borne got out of the penalty box, but Lennox was waiting for him and slammed the door on his head. In the ring, Evans and Hendry were getting bouncy as the clock approached 5 minutes remaining. Evans hit a coast to coast swanton, and then Slater took him out.

Slater hit a swanton 450 on Hendry and got himself on the board with a pin. Later then turned his attention to Evans until Borne broke it up. Lennox threw Slater aside and he and Borne went at it. Borne hit a cutter and picked up a point, tying the match with 3 and a half minutes left.

Lennox went over and started stomping Hendry in the penalty box. In the ring, Borne, Slater and Evans hit each other in triangle formation. Hendry got himself some mad and took out Lennox in the box before storming out and into the ring.

Things moved super fast after that as Evans, Hendry, Slater and Borne ran each other ragged. Lennox got out of the box and pulled Hendry out of the ring. Evans leapt down, but Lennox grabbed him and locked him in the penalty box.

Lennox got in the ring for a Standing Ovation from Hendry that rolled him out. Evans climbed out the top of the box and leapt on Lennox. Slater took out hendyr and then evans hit a top rope cutter on Slater t for a two count. Evans tossed out Borne, but boren came back in and head butted him Borne hit a Super Borne Again on Evans, but Lennox broke up the pin attempt.

Borne occupied Lennox while Slater hit a swanton 450 on Evans. Hendry threw Slater over the ropes and then Evans scooped up Borne in the ring to get a quick pin as the time ran out, winning the match and becoming the Iron Survivor!

Match Result: Je’Von Evans (2) defeated Leon Slater (1), Joe Hendry (1), Dion Lennox (1) and Myles Borne (1)

After the match, Evans celebrated until Femi’s music started to play and the Champ appeared at the top of the ramp they stared each other down and then the lights went out. A video of a mysterious figure played, and when the lights came up, Tony d’Angelo was in the ring.

He slammed Evans and stared at Femi who looked like he’d just seen a ghost, as the show ran off the air.

That was amazing! I love these Iron Survivor matches! The finish was so fast and furious that I’m definitely going to have to watch it again to take it all in. I love Evans as the winner and the return of d’Angelo was well done. All right a good night of matches, each having their own flavour.

WWE NXT live results: Deadline go-home show

With two weeks of Gold Rush now over, WWE NXT is back tonight with its Deadline go-home show.

An eight-man tag team match headlines tonight’s card with Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, Leon Slater & Joe Hendry taking on DarkState. The bout features all five of the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge competitors, with Evans, Borne, Slater, Hendry, and Dion Lennox set to face off at Saturday’s PLE.

The women’s Iron Survivor participants — Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca, Jordynne Grace, Lola Vice, and Kendal Grey — will meet for a summit in advance of their upcoming match. The Iron Survivor bouts at Deadline will determine future challengers for the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship.

Jacy Jayne is the NXT Women’s Champion once again after winning the belt from Tatum Paxley at Gold Rush. The Culling will address their betrayal of Paxley tonight.

Plus, Tavion Heights vs. Josh Briggs is set to take place on the episode. Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.

**********

NXT is on the air from a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando with a live studio audience. Vic Joseph is commentary as usual, but Booker T is not on the show this week. Instead, Corey Graves is back on NXT for tonight’s episode.

In the ring is NXT General Manger Ava, and she is joined by the participants of the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Sol Ruca, Jordynne Grace, Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice and WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey are in the ring for a summit of sorts.

All five participants gets to speak, but they are soon interrupted by the Fatal Influence trio. Before the interruption, each of the five cuts a promo of some kind. Sol Ruca speaks first, and she mentions Ethan Page putting her over in a recent promo. Ruca then talks her trials this year, but there is an easy path back to a championship. That is winning at Deadline and going on to win the women’s title.

Jordynne Grace interjects to say no one can stand in her way. Lola Vice says John Cena all picked her for a reason. Kendal Grey says she is the only women in the ring with a title. Kelani Jordan cuts a promo and is booed more than anyone else in the ring.

Fatal Influence interrupts the summit, with NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne cutting a promo flanked by Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. Jayne says she cannot wait to see which loser she faces after Deadline. Jayne then singles them all out to cut promos on all of them. In the ring, Jordan insults Grace by calling her a “meat head”, which ignites a brawl.

Cut away from the melee to footage for earlier today with Joe Hendry talking with Thea Hail backstage. In walks Stacks and Arianna Grace. Hail and Grace exchange words, which sets up a match between the two that is up next.

But first, Ava wants to talk with Fatal Influence. Ava books them in a trio match later on against three of the women they interrupted earlier tonight.

Thea Hail (with Joe Hendry) vs. Arianna Grace (with Stacks)

They had a fun match for an NXT show, although it was short. Hendry gets involved to counteract Stacks, and Hendry chokeslams Stacks on the ring apron. Hail then applies a Kimura lock, and Grace taps out.

Match result: Thea Hail defeated Arianna Grace via submission.

— A skit from earlier this week in the parking lot, Andre Chase apologizes to OTM after the Chase U students almost run over OTM with a Tesla. OTM says next time it’s on sight, and Chase cuts a promo on the students. This sets up a tag match for later on tonight.

Josh Briggs vs. Tavion Heights

They had a really good match in what is continuation of their feud. They picked up where they left off by brawling before the bell. They trade near falls before the fight spills outside again, where Heights sends Briggs crashing through a gimmicked section of the barricade.

After a commercial break the match continues with Briggs getting another near fall. Briggs gets heat on Heights, but Heights eventually makes a fiery comeback. When they collide together, Briggs rips off the chain he was wearing as a necklace. The referee grabs the chain and goes to toss it out of the ring. With the ref distracted with the chain, he is late to see Heights covering Briggs after a belly-to-belly. With the ref late to count, Briggs has time to get his foot on the rope.

For the finish, Briggs lands a big boot. He follows with a Stan Hansen lariat, and Briggs covers Heights for a three count.

Match result: Josh Briggs defeated Tavion Heights via pinfall.

— The Culling faction is headed to the ring for a promo. After a commercial, they are in the ring for a promo from Izzi Dame. The reception for my local CW affiliate is in and out like a fiddler’s elbow, so Dame’s promo was a bit jumbled for me. She is basically cutting a promo on Tatum Paxley, which addresses Dame turning on Paxley on a previous episode. That turn cost Paxley the NXT Women’s Championship. Dame and Paxley are booked in a grudge match at Deadline.

Paxley interrupts the macabre promo on the Titantron. A dejected Paxley is sad and seemingly in tears over the turn. Dame calls her out to come to the ring unless she is scared to face her. Paxlet admits she is scared and does not know what to do without Dame in her corner.

— Sol Ruca apologizes to Zaria for not being in her corner, with Ruca saying she needed some space. Zaria is not buying it, and says she will not be in Ruca’s corner tonight. They are in the locker room with others, which led to Wren Sinclair volunteering to be in Ruca’s corner. Zaria seems displeased with that development.

— After a commercial break and hype video that explains the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, up next is the trios match made earlier tonight.

Fatal Influence (NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, WWE Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) vs. WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey, Lola Vice and Sol Ruca (with Wren Sinclair) in a six-woman tag team match

The match goes through a commercial break. The heel trio is in control as the show goes into the break. When the show returns from the break they build to a hot tag. Vice runs wild after tagging in. For the finish, Ruca executes a Sol Snatcher on Jayne. Ruca then covers the women’s champ to win the match.

Match result: Sol Ruca, Kendal Grey & Lola Vice defeated Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid when Ruca pinned Jayne.

In a post-match angle, Zaria runs in out of nowhere to spear Grey. The bayface team was on the floor celebrating when Zaria came running in for the sneak attack on Grey. Ruca shoves Zaria, and they argue as Vice steps in between them.

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) vs. Chase U (Kale Dixon & Uriah Connors with Andre Chase)

This match was set up with the parking lot skit shown earlier in the show. Babyfaces shine in the early stages of the tag bout, which led to stereo dives. Both teams have improved greatly in the ring, and both teams have far more stage presence. Dixon & Connors especially show a ton of fire. Too bad they lost clean. They are running wild ahead of the finish, but Nima & Price catch them on dives to cut off the babyface duo. For the finish, OTM execute their assisted spinebuster on Connors.

Match result: OTM defeated Chase U when Lucien Price pinned Uriah Connors.

— In a skit from the parking lot, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page is in his car. Ava is outside the car talking with Page when Mr. Iguana scares Page with La Yesca. Page freaks out at the sight of the stuffed lizard. Mr. Iguana then commits grand theft auto in front of Ava and a national wide television audience, as he steals Page’s car.

— Shiloh Hill is featured in another weird personality profile. He tells a story of getting lost on a snowmobile trip as a youth, and he took shelter. He rejoiced in being one with the earth, and he marks out for wolves. He then shifts to talking about his Undertaker being his coach on LFG. Hill concludes by rushing off to get some bleach. Not sure what the heck to think of this vignette.

— This has been a weak go-home show so far, albeit with good matches. Next up is the main event, which is far from exciting. Nevertheless, there is a stipulation. If the babyface team wins, the wrestler that scores the win gets his choice of when to enter the Iron Survivor. On the other hand, Dion Lennox gets to choose if the heel team wins.

Je’Von Evans, Joe Hendry, Leon Slater & Myles Borne vs. Darkstate (Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars) in an eight-man tag team match

This was pretty good eight-man tag, although it did not have the feel of a main event. Nonetheless, they all worked hard. The match goes through a commercial break. Wild brawl as the show cuts to commercials. After the break, hot tag brings in Joe Hendry.

Lot of wild action down the stretch. Evans does some impressive high spots, including flying over the announce desk. The babyfaces get several near falls. Setting up the finish, Slater does a 450 splash on Griffin. Borne tags in and somewhat steals the pin after executing a Borne Again (Zig-Zag). Borne then covers Griffin for the deciding pinfall. Therefore, Borne gets to determine when he enters the Iron Survivor. There is tension among the babyfaces over Borne getting the pin.

Match result: Myles Borne, Je’Von Evans, Leon Slater & Joe Hendry defeated Darksate when Borne pinned Griffin.

— Closing the show is a contract signing with NXT Champion Ricky Saints and Oba Femi, which builds towards their title match at Deadline. They cut quick promos on each other in this backstage segment. While this closed the show, Ava announces the NXT men’s title match will open the card at Deadline for the first time in NXT history. Despite that announcement, this remains a weak go-home show. However, the wrestling itself was decent enough.

WWE NXT live results: Gold Rush week two

Gold Rush 2025 concludes tonight with part two airing on WWE NXT.

Taped last week at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the card for tonight’s special includes four title matches — including one where a new champion is guaranteed to be crowned. Zaria and Fallon Henley are set to meet for the vacant WWE Speed Women’s Championship. Zaria is attempting to win the title that her friend Sol Ruca had to relinquish due to injury.

Kelani Jordan defends her TNA Knockouts Championship in a triple threat match against Jordynne Grace and Lei Ying Lee.

The Evolve brand gets into the Gold Rush mix with its men’s and women’s titles both on the line. Men’s Evolve Champion Jackson Drake is defending against Sean Legacy, while Kendal Grey is putting the women’s Evolve Championship up for grabs against Lainey Reid.

Along with that, Trick Williams and Myles Borne go one-on-one in a grudge match.

**********

NXT Gold Rush is on the CW with a taped episode from The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The show opens with a title match from the WWE ID program. Peter Rosenberg is a guest on commentary as the “Evolve analyst” for the opening match. He joins NXT regulars Vic Joseph and Booker T on commentary.

Jackson Drake (with Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) vs. Sean Legacy for the WWE Evolve Championship

The tag team called Swipe Right are in the corner of the champion.

Sean got several close near falls that wowed the crowd. One included a Spanish Fly of sorts that involved a backflip into a suplex. Drake came back soon thereafter with a guillotine knee drop, followed by a running knee strike Drake calls “The Unaliving”. Drake then hooked a leg and locked his arms for a three count on Legacy. Great opener.

Match result: WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake defeated Sean Legacy to retain his title via pinfall.

— NXT North American Champion Ethan Page offers heelish advice to Sol Ruca. In walks Myle Borne to confront Page. This plays on Borne against Trick later, but they also tease another match between Borne and Page.

— Clips from a sit-down interview hype John Cena’s final match on Saturday Night’s Main Event next month.

Zaria vs. Fallon Henley (with Jacy Jayne & Lainey Reid) in the finals of the WWE Women’s Speed Championship Tournament

This match for the vacant Women’s Speed title is the culmination of a tournament that played out over a few weeks on NXT. It also plays to an angle involving Sol Ruca, who vacated the Speed title due to a supposed injury.

They went Broadway after going to a three-minute time limit. Zaria got to shine in the match, and she applied a Texas cloverleaf at one point. However, Henley got a rope break. Henley went for a high cross off the top rope, but Zaria rolled through and deadlifted Henley with 30 seconds remaining in the match.

DDT by Henley counters Zaria for a two count with 15 seconds remaining in the title bout. As the time clock ticks down, Zaria is going for her finisher with Henley in a fireman’s carry.

Out comes NXT General Manager Ava to order the match must continue with sudden death, meaning the first to score a pin or submission wins the match. The show cuts to a commercial break as the match restarts.

Back from the break, Henley is in control as Zaria takes a bump off the ropes. Rings of Saturn applied by Henley, but Zaria escapes the hold. Henley takes a press slam off middle rope, and Zaria fires up.

Zaria spears Henley out of the ring, and gives chase. Zaria goes for a spear on the floor, but she instead collides with the ring steps after Lainey Reid saves Henley. Back in the ring, Henley delivers a shining wizard. Henley follows with a famouser, and she covers Zaria to score a pinfall. Good match. And new…

Match result: Fallon Henley defeated Zaria in a tournament final to win the vacant WWE Speed Championship.

— Shiloh Hill is featured in another vignette where he talks about being a long time wrestling fan. Hill tells a story about playing wresting with his dad, and he broke his dad’s nose. He talks more about his dad, and then Shiloh talks about his missing tooth. He makes a remark about forgetting his wire cutters, and that ends the vignette.

— Booker T ribs Vic Joseph during a plug for the relaunch of the WWE LJN figures.

John Cena picks the men’s Iron Survivor participants

Cena chooses the participants in a pre-taped segment that mixes Cena’s monologue with video clips of those chosen by him.

The participants for the Men’s Iron Survivor:

  • Joe Hendry
  • Je’Von Evans
  • Dion Lennox
  • TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater
  • The winner of tonight’s main event between Myles Borne and Trick Williams

— Izzi Dame cuts a promo on Tatum Paxley after turning on her last week. Dame promises to explain her actions next week on NXT.

— TNA President Carlos Silva is on camera sitting front row ringside, alongside Tommy Dreamer, for the next title match on the card.

Kelani Jordan vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Lei Ying Lee in a triple threat match for the TNA Knockouts Championship

While Jordan and Grace have been programmed together as rivals on NXT, this was a big match for Lei Ying Lee (who was formerly Xia Li in NXT).

The title bout goes through a commercial break. Just before cutting to commercials, the defending champ is standing tall. Jordan does an Asai moonsault just before the break. When the show returns from the break, the three wrestlers return to triple threat spots.

Wild Spanish Fly spot by Jordan and Grace, with little room for error. They do some creative spots playing off each other’s strengths. In the closing moments, no water in the pool for Jordan as she misses a 450 splash. Lee is capitalizing on the missed splash when Grace throws her outside. Grace then executes a finisher (Torture Rack turned into a sit-out powerbomb), and Grace goes for a pin. Lee strikes with a flying spin kick, and she covers Jordan for the deciding pinfall. And new…

Clever finish, and apropos for Lee to win her first title on NXT television. She was in tears after putting on the TNA Knockouts title belt.

Match result: Lei Ying Lee defeated TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace in a triple threat match to win the title when Lee pinned Jordan.

— Fatal Influence is backstage celebrating Henley winning the Speed title. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid are talking up Henley when in walks Ava. The GM announces that Jayne and Henley are barred from ringside tonight when Reid challenges for the Evolve Women’s Championship.

— NXT Champion Ricky Saints sits down with Sarah Schreiber for an interview. Saints talks about facing Oba Femi and the challenge that presents. Saints addresses the doubt he and other feel about his upcoming match against Femi. Saints basically says he will use the doubt and criticism to motivate him in beating Femi again.

Kendal Grey (with Wren Sinclair) vs. Lainey Reid for the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship

The title bout goes through a commercial break. They have a very competitive match, and it was quite good. The style of the match was very different than a typical WWE match, except for a dumb run-in.

Despite being barred from ringside, Reid’s cohorts in Fatal Influence run down to the ring. Jayne and Henley jump on opposite sides of the apron, and the referee is beside himself on what to do. Sinclair decks Henley with a punch, and Henley takes a bump off the apron. Jayne charges towards Grey, only for Grey to sidestep her. Jayne then crashes into Sinclaur, who goes flying off the apron into the arms of Charlie Dempsey. He appeared out of nowhere to catch Sinclair. She screams in celebration of Dempsey’s return. The referee ejects all involved from ringside.

For the finish, Grey counters Reid to execute an avalanche overhead suplex. Grey pulls down straps on her gear like she is hulking up at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis. Grey then leaps into a flying flatliner, and she covers Reid for a pinfall to retain the Evolve title.

Match result: WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey defeated Lainey Reid via pinfall to retain her title.

— Darkstate are featured in a backstage promo. Dion Lennox, who is wearing a NXT tag team title belt, says he is going for singles gold when he wins the Iron Survivor. Darkstate then leaves in search of Myles Borne.

John Cens picks the Women’s Iron Survivor participants

Similarly to the earlier segment, Cena voices over a video package that mixes his promo with video clips of the participants announced by Cena.

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge participants at NXT Deadline:

  • Sol Ruca
  • Lola Vice
  • Jordynne Grace
  • Kelani Jordan
  • Kendal Grey

— Announced for next Tuesday on NXT on the go-home episode ahead of Deadline is a summit with the women’s participants.

— Also announced for next Tuesday is Josh Briggs against Tavion Heights in a grudge match a few weeks in the making on NXT.

Trick Williams vs. Myles Borne in an Iron Survivor qualifying match

The main event match goes through a commercial break. The show cuts to commercial after Borne gets a close near fall. They do some clever spots, like a double neck breaker spot at one point late in the match.

The fight spills outside, where Trick delivers his signature flying kick. He goes for another attempted kick, but Borne dodges him. Trick crashes his knee into the ring steps. Borne then follows up by giving Trick a Zig Zag (now called “The Borne Again’) on the floor. Back in the ring for the finish, as Borne executes another Borne Again. Trick had kicked out earlier in the match after a Borne Again, but not this time. Borne hooks a leg and covers Trick for a three count.

Match result: Myles Borne defeated Trick Williams via pinfall to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge.

After the match, Borne is celebrating when the arena lights go dark. Spotlights then illuminate the entrance of Darkstate, as they stalk Borne. Darkstate enters through the crowd, and they surround Borne. Borne’s fellow Iron Survivor participants run down to back up Borne. Je’Von Evans, Leon Slater and Joe Hendry join Borne in the ring to face off with Darkstate. Credits roll as the two groups face off. This seems to build up an eight-man tag match for the go-home show next Tuesday.

Page cuts off Hendry as the show is in picture-in-picture, and Page is working over Hendry as the show returns from the break. Alba Fyre interferes, which allows Page to derail a hope spot.

Comeback by Hendry, who does a hurricanrana and a fallaway slam before hitting his signature pose. In turn, Hail with a trust fall off the top rope to the outside. Hail and Page run through some spots in the ring, and Hail gets a near fall. Page jumps in to break up the pin, and Hail superkicks him for his trouble.

— NASCAR driver Jesse Love is shown in attendance in NYC in what one can assume is a promotional tie-in with the CW.

Blake Monroe vs. Sol Ruca for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

Monroe works a knee as she targets the brace on Ruca’s left leg. Double down before a commercial break, as they both deliver a lariat to each other on the floor. Monroe is back to working the knee when the show returns from the break. Ruca soon begins a comeback. Monroe briefly dashes the hope spot, by Monroe nonetheless fires up. Missile dropkick off the middle rope from Ruca. She then does kip up with one leg, and Ruca gets a two count on Monroe.

Double down in the ring, and Monroe rolls outside. Ruca runs and jumps over the ropes to springboard off the middle turnbuckle into a quebrada. Back in the ring, Monroe cuts off Ruca. Monroe then applies a half crab, which she had applied earlier in the match as well.

To further targeted the knee with the brace, which was coming loose. Monroe tries rips the brace off Ruca’s knee. Ruca went to superkick, but her leg gave out. Monroe applies another submission hold as Zaria screams at the timekeeper to ring the bell.

Zaria grabs a white towel, and the crowd gasps. Zaria hesitates and teases throwing in the towel before ultimately doing so. Zaria throws in the towel, and Monroe is awarded the match. And still…

— Footage from after NXT went off the air in Orlando shows Oba Femi confronting NXT Champion Ricky Saints. Another clip shows Femi, the former champion, confronting Saints at a NXT spot show in Chicago. The new champ is then seen headed to the ring for a confrontation with the former champ.

Saints and Femi set up title match for NXT Deadline

Saints is dressed in street clothes with the title belt slung over his shoulder. Femi towers to the ring in jeans with no shirt. Femi also has his fist tapes for some reason. They face off in the ring and cut promos on each other. That led to Saints giving Femi a rematch for the title at Deadline.

Trick Williams interrupts them to cut a promo of his own. However, Williams is ambushed by Myles Borne, who lays out Williams. Borne cuts a quick promo saying payback is a bitch. Borne then vows to become the Iron Survivor, ensuring he sees the champ at New Year’s Evil.

Borne jumping Trick leads to a match between them next week on part two of Gold Rush. That match-up is made official later in the show.

— After a commercial break, Ava is scolding Borne in a backstage skit.

— In a page from TNA Impact of old, it was TO THE BACK! Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights are still brawling backstage.

Je’Von Evans & TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater vs. Darkstate (Osiris Griffin & Dion Lennox with Saquon Shugars and Cutler James) for the NXT Tag Team Championship

The match goes through a commercial break. Before the break, Evans gets a near fall soon after he leaps over Griffin onto the announce desk. Slater & Evans with double teams moves, followed by stereo planchas. The babyfaces are standing tall as the show cuts to commercials.

Darkstate are in control as the show returns from the break. Evans is worked over, although he tries to fight back. Evans with superkicks to create separation, and Evans tags out. Hot tag to Slater, who is on fire and runs wild. Slater with a two count after a high cross.

Slater & Evans with more tandem moves, and they are on a roll. Slater runs corner to corner to leap outside with a corkscrew plancha. Shugars tries to interfere, but Evans kicks him away. Evans then leaps off the top rope with a frog splash for another near fall.

Evans is shoved off the turnbuckles by Lenno, which left Slater alone against Darkstate. Slater takes a double powerbomb, and Lennox goes for a cover. Evans breaks up the pin with a springboard body press, but in doing so he lands on his tag partner. Slater is again alone against Darkstate. In dramatic fashion, Shawn Spears and Niko Vance of The Culling block Paxley’s way as she tries to get back into the ring. Dame then comes out of nowhere with a big boot to Paxley. Dame then rolls Paxley into the ring for a waiting Jayne. Roaring Encore by Jayne, and she pinned Paxley to regain the title. And new…
