Josh Alexander vs. Daniel Garcia set for NJPW Strong BBQ Brawl

NJPW has revealed the lineup for Friday’s NJPW Strong BBQ Brawl.

Impact’s Josh Alexander will take on Daniel Garcia in the opener. Garcia will also appear on Friday’s AEW Rampage in the same time slot, taking on Darby Allin.

In the junior heavyweight division, Rey Horus will face Strong regular TJP. 

In Friday’s main event, Matt Morris (formerly Aiden English in WWE) will battle Bullet Club’s Hikuleo. Hikuleo attacked Juice Robinson on last week’s episode. Morris demanded the match to stand up for his long-time friend Robinson. Hikuleo lost to Robinson earlier this month at NJPW Resurgence in Los Angeles.Morris was on English commentary for that event on FITE TV.

Three matches set for NJPW Strong Summer Struggle USA night two

NJPW has revealed the lineup for night two of Summer Struggle USA on this Friday’s NJPW Strong. 

In an eight-man tag main event, Juice Robinson, Lio Rush, Brody King and Chris Dickinson will face Team Filthy’s Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos, Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs. Rush is the next contender for Lawlor’s Strong Openweight Championship. 

In singles action, Karl Fredericks will take on NJPW newcomer Alexander James. James defeated Kevin Knight in his debut on the August 6 Strong. 

Also set for Friday, Wheeler Yuta, Adrian Quest and The DKC will face Bateman, Misterioso and Barrett Brown in a trios match.

Daniel Garcia, Matt Morris to make NJPW Strong debuts

NJPW has announced the lineup for this Friday’s NJPW Strong. The show will feature two notable in-ring debuts.

Indie star Daniel Garcia will make his NJPW debut in a six-man tag. Garcia faced Darby Allin on last week’s AEW Dynamite, but on Strong he will team with Fred Rosser and Fred Yehi against Clark Connors, Ren Narita and TJP. 

In Friday’s opener, Matt Morris will make his in-ring debut for NJPW. The former Aiden English was on commentary for this past Saturday’s NJPW Resurgence event, but he will be in the ring against Alex Coughlin on Strong. 

In the main event, Team Filthy’s West Coast Wrecking Crew, Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs, will face Brody King and Chris Dickinson of Violence Unlimited.

Lio Rush to challenge for NJPW Strong Openweight Championship

The next challenger is set for “Filthy” Tom Lawlor’s NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. 

Lio Rush will face Lawlor for the title at the Fighting Spirit Unleashed NJPW Strong tapings on Monday, August 16 at Thunder Studio in Long Beach, California. The match will air on an episode of Strong at a later date. 

Following Lawlor’s last title defense against Satoshi Kojima on the July 23 episode of Strong, Rush confronted Lawlor in a post-match backstage segment. Rush and Karl Fredericks then scored a tag team victory over Lawlor and Danny Limelight on the August 13 edition of the show. NJPW then announced the match. 

In addition to Lawlor vs. Rush, appearances from Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii have been advertised for the sold out August 16 tapings in Long Beach. The Strong shows will be the first in the history of the series to be held in front of live fans. 

Juice Robinson vs. Hikuleo added to NJPW Resurgence

Another match is official for Saturday’s NJPW Resurgence event. 

NJPW announced that Juice Robinson will take on Hikuleo at The Torch at LA Coliseum. 

Additionally, a dark match was announced for the event. Kevin Knight, The DKC and Adrian Quest will take on Bateman, Misterioso and Barrett Brown in a trios match. That match will kick off the event for the live crowd at 7:30 p.m. Pacific time. The main card will begin at 8 p.m. Pacific time. 

NJPW World and FITE TV are the broadcast partners for the show. NJPW World will have Japanese commentary, while FITE TV will have the exclusive English commentary for the event.

NJPW has announced the lineup for this Friday’s NJPW Strong. 

In the main event, Team Filthy’s Tom Lawlor and Danny Limelight will face Lio Rush and Karl Fredericks. Rush is being positioned as the next challenger for Lawlor’s NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. 

In the semi-main, Fred Yehi will take on Hikuleo.

In Friday’s opener, Wheeler Yuta will be in action against Barrett Brown.

The Good Brothers advance to NJPW Strong Tag Team Turbulence finals

Following Friday’s NJPW Strong, the finals are set for the Tag Team Turbulence tournament.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) and Violence Unlimited (Chris Dickinson & Brody King) advanced to the finals with wins on Strong. 

King and Dickinson were victorious over the West Coast Wrecking Crew duo of Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs. King pinned Jorel Nelson after hitting him with a lariat. 

On the other side of the bracket, The Good Brothers advanced with a victory over Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita. Anderson pinned Narita following a Magic Killer. 

The Tag Team Turbulence finals will be held on the Friday, July 30 episode. 

This week’s Strong also featured an NJPW Strong Openweight Championship match between Tom Lawlor and Satoshi Kojima. Lawlor retained the title, winning by submission with a rear naked choke.

Lawlor vs. Kojima title match set for July 23 NJPW Strong

Tom Lawlor will defend the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Satoshi Kojima on the Friday, July 23 Tag Team Turbulence episode of NJPW Strong. 

Kojima issued a challenge to Lawlor to face him following Lawlor’s title defense against Karl Fredericks on the June 25 Strong. Lawlor accepted and the company made the announcement this evening. 

Tag Team Turbulence is an eight-team tournament set to kick off on the July 16 edition of Strong. The semifinals will take place on the July 23 show, while the finals will be held on the July 30 episode.

Josh Alexander vs. Rocky Romero set for NJPW Strong

Impact Wrestling’s X Division Champion Josh Alexander returns to NJPW Strong on this week’s episode. 

Alexander will take on Rocky Romero in the main event of Friday’s Road to Tag Team Turbulence edition of Strong. Alexander defeated Alex Coughlin in his prior Strong outing. Romero is coming off a loss to Clark Connors on Strong. 

Coughlin’s open challenge series will continue in Friday’s second match. He will take on Ring of Honor’s PJ Black. 

In Friday’s opener, The DKC will take on Barrett Brown. 

The Tag Team Turbulence tournament will begin on next Friday’s Strong. All four first round matches will take place on that episode.

Full lineup revealed for NJPW Strong Fireworks Frenzy

NJPW has announced the lineup for this week’s Fireworks Frenzy episode of Strong. 

In the main event, Fred Rosser will face Bateman. Rosser has recently teamed with Adrian Quest, while Bateman has aligned himself with Quest’s former tag team partner Barrett Brown. Bateman and Brown defeated Rosser and Quest in a tag match on the June 18 edition of Strong.

In the second match, Hikuleo will take on Jordan Clearwater. Hikuleo is coming off a victory over Alex Coughlin on the June 11 episode of Strong, while Clearwater has yet to win a singles match since debuting in NJPW. 

In Friday’s opener, Lio Rush will face Adrian Quest.

NJPW has announced the full card for this week’s Ignition episode of Strong. 

Already announced, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor will defend the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Karl Fredericks in the main event. 

In the second match, Rocky Romero will face Clark Connors. Romero and Connors have met twice before, with Romero winning both matches. 

In Friday’s opener Fred Yehi and Wheeler Yuta will face LA Dojo members Kevin Knight and The DKC in tag team action. 

Both of those teams will also be participants in the Tag Team Turbulence tournament to be held on Strong in July. Yehi and Yuta will face Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita on July 16, while Knight and The DKC will take on Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs on the 16th.

Impact Wrestling’s Josh Alexander will make his NJPW Strong debut on this Friday’s Ignition episode of the show. 

Alexander will take on Alex Coughlin as Coughlin’s open challenge series begins. Alexander currently holds the Impact X Division Championship. 

Ignition will be a two-night event on Strong, held on this and next week’s episodes. 

Already announced as the main event for Friday’s show is Satoshi Kojima vs. JR Kratos. Also announced for this week is Fred Rosser and Adrian Quest taking on Bateman and Barrett Brown in tag team action. 

The June 25 episode will be headlined by an NJPW Strong Openweight Championship match, with Tom Lawlor defending the title against Karl Fredericks.

NJPW has revealed the full lineup for this week’s Road to Ignition episode of Strong. 

Fred Yehi will make his NJPW Strong debut, teaming with Wheeler Yuta in the main event. Yehi and Yuta will face Strong regulars Misterioso and Jordan Clearwater. Yehi is the number one contender for the ROH Pure Championship. 

In the second match, Rocky Romero and Lio Rush will tag against Clark Connors and The DKC. 

In Friday’s opener, Alex Coughlin will take on Hikuleo in singles competition. Hikuleo will be making his first appearance on Strong since losing a no DQ match to Fred Rosser on the May 21 episode.

NJPW has revealed the full lineup for this week’s Road to Ignition episode of Strong. 

Satoshi Kojima will make his Strong debut this week. In Friday’s main event, he will team with Karl Fredericks. They will take on Team Filthy’s JR Kratos and Danny Limelight. Fredericks is next in line to face Team Filthy leader Tom Lawlor for the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. 

Adrian Quest will take on Barrett Brown on Friday’s episode. Quest and Brown used to team together on Strong, but the duo split up on the May 7 edition of Strong. 

In this week’s opener, TJP will take on LA Dojo prospect Kevin Knight.
