Naomi & Lana are the new number one contenders to the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.
Naomi & Lana defeated Charlotte Flair & Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke in a triple threat match on Raw tonight to become the number one contenders to Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler’s Women’s Tag Team titles. When Naomi & Lana will be getting their title shot hasn’t been announced.
Charlotte tagged out near the end of the number one contender’s match and walked out of the match as Ric Flair and Lacey Evans were coming out to the ring. Asuka then turned around into a Rear View from Naomi. Naomi pinned Asuka to get the win.
Charlotte & Asuka lost the Raw Tag Team titles to Jax & Baszler on Sunday’s Royal Rumble pre-show due to interference by Ric Flair and Evans. Ric gave Evans brass knuckles, then Evans used them to lay Charlotte out with the Woman’s Right.
Naomi and Lana both made their returns as entrants in the women’s Royal Rumble. Lana eliminated her rival Jax in the match.
New Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned on tonight’s Royal Rumble pre-show.
Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler regained the Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Charlotte Flair & Asuka on the Royal Rumble pre-show. Charlotte was pinned by Jax after interference by Ric Flair and Lacey Evans. That interference included Evans pulling Charlotte out of the ring as she was putting Baszler in the Figure Eight. Ric then gave Evans a foreign object to use as she laid out Charlotte with the Woman’s Right while the referee was distracted by Jax
Jax then tagged in, gave Charlotte a leg drop, and pinned her to get the win. Asuka had been thrown over the announce table by Baszler leading into the finish. Asuka checked on Charlotte after the match.
This is Jax & Baszler’s second reign as Women’s Tag Team Champions. They had lost the titles to Charlotte & Asuka at December’s TLC pay-per-view.
Charlotte, Jax, Baszler, and Evans will all be entrants in tonight’s women’s Royal Rumble match.
Asuka currently holds the Raw Women’s Championship. She isn’t defending that title tonight.
One of the matches set for tonight’s Royal Rumble event is now taking place on the pre-show.

Charlotte, Jax, and Baszler will be pulling double duty at the Royal Rumble, with all three also taking part in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Charlotte & Asuka won the women’s Tag Team titles from Jax & Baszler at December’s TLC PPV.
Asuka also currently holds the Raw Women’s Championship. She isn’t defending that title at the Royal Rumble tonight.
Tonight’s pre-show begins at 6 p.m. Eastern time. The main card then starts at 7 p.m. Eastern. Here’s what’s been announced for the card:
Men’s Royal Rumble match
Women’s Royal Rumble match
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defends against Goldberg
Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match
SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks defends against Carmella
Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Asuka defend against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
The Women’s Tag Team titles will be on the line at Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
WWE has announced that Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Asuka will defend their titles against former champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler at the Royal Rumble this coming Sunday. Charlotte & Asuka won the Women’s Tag Team titles from Jax & Baszler at December’s TLC PPV.
Jax, Baszler & Lacey Evans defeated Charlotte, Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke in a six-woman tag match on Raw’s go-home show for the Royal Rumble tonight. Charlotte vs. Baszler first took place on the episode but ended in a disqualification when Jax attacked Charlotte as she was going to put Baszler in the Figure Eight. The six-woman tag match had to be restarted after it initially ended in a countout when Baszler didn’t get back into the ring in time.
Charlotte, Jax, and Baszler have all declared for the women’s Royal Rumble match and will be pulling double duty at the PPV. There’s been dissension between Jax and Baszler over them both being entrants in the Royal Rumble.
Asuka also currently holds the Raw Women’s Championship.
The Royal Rumble main card will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday. There will be a pre-show starting at 6 p.m. Eastern.
The Royal Rumble will also feature the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, Drew McIntyre vs. Goldberg for the WWE Championship, Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match for the Universal Championship, and Sasha Banks vs. Carmella for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Plus, Bad Bunny will perform his hit song “Booker T” live.
Former Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler are the first two wrestlers to declare for the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble.
During a promo on Raw tonight, Jax announced that she’s entering the women’s Royal Rumble match. Baszler then said she likes that idea, announcing that she’ll be in the match as well.
Jax said her resolutions for 2021 are to end Charlotte Flair’s climb to the top before it begins, regain the Women’s Tag Team titles, and win the women’s Royal Rumble match and go on to WrestleMania and face the champion.
Charlotte defeated Jax by disqualification in a singles match on Raw tonight. Baszler interfered as Charlotte was going to put Jax in the Figure Eight. Jax and Baszler tried to attack Charlotte after the match, but Asuka made the save.
Charlotte returned at TLC earlier this month, teaming with Asuka as they defeated Jax & Baszler to win the Women’s Tag Team titles.
The 2021 Royal Rumble is taking place on Sunday, January 31. There will be women’s and men’s Royal Rumble matches at the pay-per-view. Daniel Bryan and Bobby Lashley have declared for the men’s Royal Rumble match thus far.
In the main event of last week’s Raw, McIntyre, Lee & Sheamus defeated AJ Styles, The Miz & John Morrison in a holiday street fight. While McIntyre was in the ring, Sheamus tagged himself in near the end of the match. Lee then tagged himself in, hit a Spirit Bomb on Miz, and pinned him to get the win.
There was dissension between Lee and Sheamus throughout last week’s Raw. Sheamus laid out Lee with a Brogue Kick following the main event. After vouching for him to Lee earlier in the night, McIntyre wasn’t happy with Sheamus and yelled at him as the show ended.
Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax and Ricochet vs. Mustafa Ali have also been announced for tonight’s Raw.
Charlotte returned to WWE programming at TLC and teamed with Asuka to win the Women’s Tag Team titles from Jax & Shayna Baszler.
Ricochet’s feud with RETRIBUTION continued as he lost to T-Bar on Raw last week. During an appearance on Raw Talk after the show, Ricochet was asked if he should change his mind and join RETRIBUTION. Ricochet got emotional and said something needs to change, but he doesn’t know what that is.
WWE is also questioning what Alexa Bliss will have in store for Randy Orton on tonight’s Raw. Orton defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in their Firefly Inferno match at TLC. Bliss then returned to Raw last week and issued a warning to Orton.
Tonight’s Raw is the final episode of 2020. Next week, Legends Night will be the theme of the first Raw of the new year. That show will feature appearances by Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and more.
After six months away, Charlotte Flair returned to WWE programming at tonight’s TLC pay-per-view.
Charlotte & Asuka defeated Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler at tonight’s PPV to win the Women’s Tag Team titles. Charlotte pinned Baszler after hitting Natural Selection.
Lana was originally announced as Asuka’s partner for tonight’s Women’s Tag Team title match, but there was an angle on last week’s Raw where Lana was taken out of the match after being attacked by Baszler & Jax. WWE said that Asuka would still be challenging for Baszler & Jax’s titles at TLC but would instead be teaming with a partner of her choosing.
An attack by Jax this June was the storyline reason for Charlotte being off TV.
Dave Meltzer had reported earlier today that Charlotte was expected to return at TLC and team with Asuka. “Flair has been out of action since June 22 when they rushed her into a title match with Asuka on Raw and did an injury angle with Jax afterward,” Meltzer wrote. “She had taken time off for surgery and to pursue some acting gigs, which included recently filming an episode of the remake of Punky Brewster alongside fellow WWE star Alexa Bliss.”
Ric Flair also made an appearance at tonight’s PPV and was shown watching the Women’s Tag Team title match and Charlotte & Asuka’s post-match celebration from backstage.
This is the first time Charlotte has been a Women’s Tag Team Champion.
Asuka, who also holds the Raw Women’s Championship, is now a double champion. She previously held the Women’s Tag Team titles with Kairi Sane.
WWE has announced that Lana is out of TLC following an angle that took place on Monday’s go-home episode of Raw.
It was said on Monday’s Raw that — due to being attacked by Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax earlier in the show — Lana won’t be able to wrestle at TLC. Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and a partner of her choosing will now challenge Baszler & Jax for their Women’s Tag Team titles at the pay-per-view.
Who Asuka will be teaming with at TLC hasn’t been revealed.
Lana defeated Jax on this week’s Raw, pinning her after fighting out of a Samoan drop attempt from the second rope. As Asuka celebrated Lana’s win backstage, she was ambushed by Baszler. Jax then attacked Lana in the ring. Baszler and Jax beat Lana down and ended the attack with Baszler bending Lana’s leg back and Jax giving it multiple leg drops. Asuka then recovered and ran out to make the save.
WWE said that Lana had been taken to a local medical facility and had “devastating injuries to her elbow and leg.” Later on Raw, Baszler vs. Dana Brooke ended in a disqualification when Jax interfered and pushed Brooke off the top rope. Mandy Rose ran out with a kendo stick to make the save for Brooke after the match. She attacked Baszler and Jax with the kendo stick, but Baszler was able to get it away from her. Asuka then attacked Baszler and helped Brooke and Rose clear the ring.
TLC is taking place on Sunday (December 20). Here’s the updated card for the show:
Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends his title against Kevin Owens in a tables, ladders, and chairs match
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defends his title against AJ Styles in a tables, ladders, and chairs match
SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks defends her title against Carmella
Randy Orton vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt
Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax defend their titles against Asuka and a partner of her choosing
Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) defend their titles against The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander)
Lana and Nia Jax will face off in singles action ahead of TLC.
WWE has announced that Lana vs. Jax will take place on Raw next Monday. The episode is Raw’s go-home show for TLC. Jax & Shayna Baszler are defending their Women’s Tag Team titles against Lana & Raw Women’s Champion Asuka at the December 20 pay-per-view.
To set up them getting the title shot, Lana & Asuka twice defeated Jax & Baszler in non-title matches. Asuka defeated Baszler in a singles match on tonight’s Raw following a distraction. Jax had attacked Lana at ringside, but Lana sent her into the steel steps. Jax then tried to powerbomb Lana, but Lana countered it and sent Jax into the announce table. Baszler got distracted by that and Asuka rolled her up to get the win.
Asuka gave Lana a pep talk later on tonight’s show as Lana was worried about facing Jax next week. After Asuka left, Jax appeared behind Lana and Lana backed away.
Jax had put Lana through the announce table several times leading up to Survivor Series. At that PPV, Lana was the sole survivor for Team Raw in their five-on-five women’s elimination match against Team SmackDown. After Jax and Baszler ordered Lana not to tag in, she was the only person left at the end of the match when Jax and SmackDown’s Bianca Belair got counted out.
After getting two non-title wins against the champions, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka & Lana are set to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.
WWE has announced that Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax will defend their titles against Asuka & Lana at TLC on Sunday, December 20. A stipulation for the match hasn’t been announced as of now.
Asuka & Lana have defeated Baszler & Jax in non-title matches on Raw each of the past two weeks. In their first win, Lana avoided a charging Jax and Jax went over the announce table. Asuka then rolled up Baszler as Baszler was focused on Lana. Baszler had Lana in the Kirifuda Clutch at the end of this week’s tag match, but Asuka broke it up with a kick. Lana then pinned Baszler to get the win.
Lana was the sole survivor for Team Raw in the women’s elimination match at Survivor Series last month. After Baszler and Jax ordered her not to tag in, Lana was the only person left standing after Jax and SmackDown’s Bianca Belair were counted out at the end of the match.
Baszler & Jax have been Women’s Tag Team Champions since winning the titles from Sasha Banks & Bayley this August.
Here’s the updated card for TLC:
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defends his title against AJ Styles
Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax defend their titles against Asuka & Lana
Date: November 30, 2020 Location: Amway Center in Orlando, FL
The Big Takeaway —
AJ Styles will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE title at TLC.
Raw was quite bad outside of the triple threat match where Styles beat Riddle and Keith Lee.
Show Recap —
The announcers ran down some of tonight’s card which includes Drew McIntyre teaming with his “best friend” Sheamus against Miz and John Morrison.
A Moment of Bliss
Bliss introduced Randy Orton, whom she called her favourite superstar. Orton entered wearing a zip-up hoodie and shorts. Bliss showed a replay of what happened next week. She pretended to be surprised that the Fiend got involved in Orton’s match but thought Orton would have a better idea why.
Orton said he’s known Wyatt a long time but has never met the Fiend and certainly doesn’t know him like Bliss does. Orton noted that the Fiend shows his pain and suffering on his face while Orton keeps it bottled inside so he can blend in.
Orton recalled finding Wyatt’s weakness years ago and burning it down to the ground. It was time to find the Fiend’s weakness and Orton thought that Bliss was that weakness. Bliss stopped speaking like a child and stood up to him before saying, “who’s manipulating who?”
The screens slowly went off and the lights turned red. Bliss was suddenly in Orton’s arms and the Fiend was in the ring.
Orton carefully handed Bliss back to Wyatt and quickly bailed from the ring. Orton smiled and said, “who’s laughing now?”
This was not good.
The announcers plugged the upcoming Jeff Hardy/Elias match and called it the final chapter. I’m not sure how they would know that.
Symphony of Destruction match: Jeff Hardy defeated Elias (12:29)
Early in the match, R-Truth popped out of a piano that he was hiding in. Erik and Tozawa immediately ran out so perhaps they were waiting in Gorilla. They ran after Truth who ran away. Drew Gulak ran out but Hardy gave him a back body drop. Gran Metalik ran out but Elias clotheslined him. Elias hit Lince Dorado with a guitar and Hardy hit Gulak with a chair.
This led to a break about three minutes into the match. Hardy tried a Whisper in the Wind but Elias hit him with a guitar. Elias tried jabbing him with something but Hardy moved and Elias jabbed a speaker which “electrocuted” him. Hardy hit him with a bass.
The big spot came at the finish. Hardy placed Elias on a table on the outside (and put some small instruments on top of him). Hardy then hit a Swanton Bomb off the top to the outside through the table for the pinfall win.
It was a spectacular spot but also a dangerous one as Hardy’s head came way too close to hitting the steel steps. I have no idea why they didn’t think to move the steps away. Hardy appeared to be just fine, thankfully.
(The other annoying thing about the match was the announcers chuckling throughout. They laughed at Hardy hurting his tailbone and Elias presumably getting electrocuted.)
Riddle approached Keith Lee who was warming up in the back. Riddle rambled on and on and Lee didn’t seem amused. The camera zoomed in on Riddle who looked away from Lee for a moment to make an Austin Powers joke. When the camera expanded, Lee was gone. (It was a funny visual but also dumb to think Riddle didn’t notice Lee leaving.)
The New Day plugged WWE Shop.
Mustafa Ali, with Retribution, cut a backstage promo. Ali wondered why Ricochet continued to try pushing the same boulder up the same hill every week just to have it fall back down. Promises made to him will just turn into lies and dreams will turn into nightmares. Slapjack said he was rejected but Ali saw him for what he really was: a weapon. Ali warned Ricochet that he would face consequences.
There was a promo by Ricochet that he apparently did on Twitter. Ricochet’s focus was to be better than Ali in the ring and that would prove that Ali was doing things the wrong way. They need to shoot every Ricochet promo like this because this was way better than usual.
Slapjack (w/Mustafa Ali) defeated Ricochet (3:31)
Ricochet gained control so Ali summoned T-Bar and Mase from the back. Ricochet sent Slapjack to the outside and wiped out all three men with a dive.
Dana Brooke suddenly appeared behind Ali and slapped him. This led to Ricochet fighting off interference attempts by every Retribution member as the referee just watched. Ricochet chased Ali from the apron but Slapjack caught him with his finisher for the pinfall win. Slapjack pinned Ricochet. Brooke vanished. This sucked.
The first hour was quite bad.
[Second hour]
MizTV with The Miz & John Morrison
Miz and Morrison introduced Sheamus as their guest. They were very annoying. They basically tried to drive a wedge between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. Sheamus laughed them off.
Miz fired up and reminded Sheamus he used to be a top guy. Now McIntyre was on top as Sheamus just watched from the sidelines. Miz called him a joke.
Sheamus got serious, removed his jacket and hat (revealing a completely normal hairstyle) and attacked both men. The numbers were too much, though, and Miz clocked him from behind with the briefcase. Miz hit him repeatedly with the briefcase.
Women’s Champion Asuka & Lana defeated Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler in a non-title match (9:17)
Before the match, Jax told Sarah Schreiber that Asuka and Lana got lucky last week (but not before insulting Schrieber’s appearance first). Baszler reminded her that she was fighting Asuka while Jax couldn’t even handle Lana. Baszler said it was one thing to lose to Asuka, but couldn’t stomach a loss to Lana. Jax said they would win and put Lana through a table.
Lana and Asuka each tried a baseball slide but were caught by Jax and Baszler. (Actually, Baszler caught Asuka but Lana came up short because Jax was standing too far away.) Jax and Baszler swung them into the barricade and they went to break barely a minute into the match.
Asuka tagged in Lana immediately upon return from the break. Jax cut her off easily and clobbered her with a forearm. Jax and Baszler worked her over until Lana managed to slip off of Jax’s shoulders before shoving her into the post.
Lana fell into the corner and Asuka tagged herself in before running wild on Baszler. They knocked each other down with kicks so Lana tagged herself in. Lana hit a flying crossbody but Baszler rolled through and applied the Kirifuda Clutch.
Asuka fought off Jax and broke up the cover by giving Baszler a shining wizard. Lana rolled over on Baszler and pinned her for the win. Lana pinned Baszler.
McIntyre approached Sheamus in the back. McIntyre seemed amused that Sheamus was hurting. He figured Sheamus had fun because he’s a physical guy. Sheamus wasn’t amused but cheered up and agreed with McIntyre that it was a bit of fun. They were both looking forward to tonight’s match.
New Day promo
New Day entered. Kofi Kingston put over Xavier Woods being named host of G4. Woods sincerely thanked anyone who has ever been on his channel or supported him in any way. Kingston asked Woods to recap Hurt Business repeatedly failing to win the tag titles. Woods did play-by-play as replays aired. They were very happy with themselves.
Hurt Business interrupted. (Woods could be heard off-mic saying, “where are the other tag teams?”) MVP said they were technically 2-2 against each other. Shelton Benjamin said they would win the titles and hurt them in the process. Cedric Alexander jumped in the ring, got in Woods’ face, and told him it was dumb luck that they were still the champions.
They seemed to be getting ready to start the match when Alexander attacked Woods. This led to commercials.
The match began during the break and Woods was in control when they returned. Woods tried a DDT but Alexander caught him and dropped him over the top rope to take control. Woods came back with chops, a forearm, a clothesline, and an Honor Roll clothesline for two.
Alexander countered a powerbomb into a brainbuster for two. Alexander went for a suicide dive but Woods dodged and Alexander went into the barricade. Woods took too long to capitalize so Alexander nailed him with the Lumbar Check for the pinfall win. A perfectly fine match.
Alexander celebrated big after the match. In fact, he went up the ramp all pumped up but left MVP and Benjamin behind in the ring. MVP and Benjamin seemed confused. (I didn’t mention it earlier, but Alexander took a slight shot at Benjamin earlier for losing last week.)
Riddle approached AJ Styles and Omos in the back. Styles told him tonight’s match was serious. Riddle said he was getting the carrot tonight. Omos laughed. Styles didn’t get it. Omos said Riddle’s bunny was named skipper (which was Riddle’s nickname for Styles).
Styles said that didn’t make sense because bunnies hop. Riddle said his turtle was named hoppy. Riddle said Styles was like his bunny because Styles had great hops, was furry and was cute. Styles shoved him and stormed off.
[Third hour]
Triple Threat match: AJ Styles (w/Omos) defeated Riddle and Keith Lee (12:58)
Lee set up for a dive on both men early in the match but they both ran for their lives before he could attempt it. Lee leaped over both men in the ring before giving Riddle a crossbody for two. Lee gave Styles a big back body drop before working over Riddle. Styles briefly winded Lee (with an assist from Omos) and Riddle took them both down with a springboard dive.
Riddle was all over both guys after a break. He went for a senton but Styles got his feet up. Lee whipped Styles into the corner but he’s so strong that Styles slid into the post and out of the ring. Lee tossed Riddle around the ring. Riddle tried applying a triangle choke but Lee used Riddle’s body to knock down Styles. Riddle did apply the hold but Lee got out of it.
Riddle followed with running forearms in the corner to both guys. He gave Styles an exploder but Lee gave Riddle a pounce for a two count. Styles came back with strikes on Lee for two. Styles went to the top but Lee headbutted him. Riddle tried powerbombing Lee but Lee slipped out and tossed him aside. Styles gave Lee a diving crossbody for two.
Riddle gave Styles a German suplex into a pin for two. Lee and Riddle exchanged strikes which Riddle actually got the better of after a knee strike. With Lee down, Styles flew in with a Phenomenal forearm on Riddle for the pinfall win. Very fun match.
AJ Styles will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE title at TLC.
Charly Caruso interviewed Miz and Morrison. She wondered if they had a plan tonight. They rambled for a bit and she called them out on it. She didn’t believe they actually had a plan. Morrison said he had an idea so Miz left with him.
Dana Brooke defeated Reckoning (w/Mustfa Ali) (2:17)
Yim’s mask came off a few seconds into the match. Ali tried distracting Brooke but Brooke rolled up Yim for the pinfall win. Ali admonished Yim after the match for failing.
Miz and Morrison approached Styles and Omos. Morrison had a peach pie for Styles because Styles was from Georgia. Styles didn’t want to hear them anymore but agreed to help them. Miz seemed surprised. Styles said he’d rather face Miz for the title than McIntyre. Morrison understood. Miz seemed annoyed. Styles told them he’d see them out there. They were about to leave but Styles told Morrison to give him the pie.
MVP approached Riddle. Riddle admitted that losing sucks but at least he had an opportunity, unlike Bobby Lashley. Riddle made some donut jokes so MVP shoved him. Riddle got in his face but Lashley suddenly appeared and put Riddle down with the Hurt Lock.
Elsewhere, Lee approached Sheamus. Lee said this was none of his business but the word in the back was that Sheamus was planning on turning on McIntyre. Sheamus said he was right: this was none of his business.
Charly Caruso in-ring interview with Drew McIntyre
McIntyre said it felt damn good to be WWE champion again. Sometimes, you need to get knocked on your ass to find out what you’re made of. McIntyre was a man of his word when he said he would Claymore kick Orton and regain his title.
McIntyre also claimed that he was right when he said he would bring Roman Reigns back down to earth. He kicked out of spear after spear because he was unlike any man Reigns had faced before. Reigns only won because Jey Uso interfered. McIntyre warned Reigns that their paths would cross again and McIntyre would win the war.
Caruso asked about Styles. McIntyre had no problem with Styles and their match would be phenomenal. McIntyre told Miz not to cash in because the briefcase was the only thing keeping him relevant.
McIntyre was good here.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre & Sheamus defeated The Miz & John Morrison via DQ (9:55)
Styles joined commentary. Sheamus was in complete control early on and began taunting Styles, so he left commentary. Sheamus knocked down Miz who tried to cheap-shot him. Sheamus turned around to face Styles but encountered Omos instead. The distraction allowed Morrison to dropkick Sheamus into the announce desk, which sent us to break.
Styles was back on commentary after the break as Miz and Morrison worked over Sheamus. McIntyre tagged in and tossed Miz and Morrison around the ring. Sheamus wanted a tag but Morrison yanked him off the apron and tossed him over the barricade. (In the Thunderdome, Tom Phillips acts like being sent over the barricade is like being sent into a volcano.)
Styles suddenly gave McIntyre a Phenomenal forearm for the DQ.
Miz and Morrison seemed annoyed because they thought they had things under control but Styles explained his reasoning. Morrison gave McIntyre Starship Pain and Miz gave him a Skull Crushing Finale. Styles gave the ref Miz’s briefcase for a cash-in but Miz stopped it. After some words were exchanged, Miz decided he would cash in.
However, McIntyre wiped out both Miz and Morrison. McIntyre confronted Styles. Styles then bounced out of the ring and into the arms of Omos. Omos carried Styles away. Styles and McIntyre taunted each other as Raw went off the air.
(Styles being carried away by Omos was somewhat amusing but it was funny in the Kurt Angle kind of way where it was actually very detrimental.)
Two non-title matches involving tag team champions are set for Monday’s episode of Raw.
WWE has announced that Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) will face The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander) in a non-title match on Monday’s Raw. Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax will also face Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke in non-title action on the show.
The Hurt Business confronted The New Day in a backstage segment on Raw this week and said they have their sights set on The New Day’s Raw Tag Team titles.
Baszler, Jax, Rose, Brooke, and Lana are the wrestlers who will be on Team Raw for their five-on-five elimination match against Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Bianca Belair is the first wrestler to qualify for Team SmackDown.
Rose & Brooke began teaming together last month after both were moved to Raw. They argued with Baszler & Jax on Raw this week after Baszler & Jax claimed to be the leaders of Team Raw.
Jeff Hardy vs. Elias in a Guitar on a Pole match has also been announced for Monday’s Raw.
The Raw team for the women’s Survivor Series elimination match has been set.
WWE officials Pat Buck and Adam Pearce announced on tonight’s Raw that WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler and the team of Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose would be part of the women’s Survivor Series elimination match. They then announced a fatal four way match would determine the final participant.
The match involved Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans, and Peyton Royce. The finish had Royce taking out both Evans and Cross with a German suplex off the turnbuckle, but Lana pulled Royce out of the ring and pinned Cross to win the match, making her the fifth and final member of the team.
After the match, Lana went to celebrate with her new teammates. She hugged Nia Jax, but Jax held on and put her through the Raw announce table for the sixth time in as many weeks.
The Women’s Tag Team title match that was originally scheduled for Clash of Champions has been rebooked for tonight’s episode of Raw.
WWE has announced that Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax will defend their titles against Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan on Raw tonight. The match was supposed to take place at Clash of Champions on September 27 but was pulled from the card. WWE announced that Baszler & Jax weren’t cleared to compete.
Dave Meltzer reported last week that Baszler & Jax did not test positive for COVID-19 but both were in contact with someone who did test positive.
Jax tweeted last night that she and Baszler would be returning on Raw: “Guess who is going to be on #RAW tomorrow night, kicking some ASH, retaining some titles, with a fresh weave and looking DAMN GOOD! I’ll give you a hint…NOT my tag partner. I mean, she will be there, but she won’t have a fresh weave.”
Baszler & Jax became the Women’s Tag Team Champions by defeating Bayley & Sasha Banks at Payback this August. Riott & Morgan were set up as their Clash of Champions challengers by defeating Peyton Royce & Billie Kay in a number one contender’s match.
Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke defeated Natalya & Lana on Raw last week and did an interview later in the show saying they’re coming for the Women’s Tag Team titles after Riott & Morgan get their title shot.
A six-man tag match with Drew McIntyre & The Street Profits facing Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode has also been announced for tonight’s Raw. Plus, WWE is hyping that Kevin Owens has invited Bray Wyatt to Raw tonight to appear on a KO Show segment. Owens will face The Fiend on SmackDown this Friday.
Prior to tonight’s Raw, WWE gave an update on the situation with the Women’s Tag Team titles.
Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax were supposed to defend their titles against Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan at Sunday’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view, but that match didn’t happen due to Baszler & Jax being pulled from the show. WWE posted a video tonight with Kayla Braxton announcing that Baszler & Jax will still defend their titles against Riott & Morgan once they’re cleared to do so.
Dave Meltzer reported that Baszler & Jax did not test positive for COVID-19 but both were in contact with someone who did test positive so they will not be used for 14 days as long as they test negative.
On Twitter today, Jax responded to someone who asked if she’s okay: “Girl….I could not be better I apologize that the announcement scared some, but all is great and healthy on my end & my tag partner’s end as well (not that I speak for her, but I kind of just did).”
Baszler & Jax won the Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Bayley & Sasha Banks at Payback last month. Riott & Morgan then became the number one contenders to the titles by defeating Peyton Royce & Billie Kay.
