AEW shot an angle involving multiple wrestlers in a backstage brawl following Wednesday’s Dynamite.
In the angle, Renee Paquette was interviewing Jeff Jarrett following his main event loss to Bryan Danielson on Dynamite. Hangman Page interrupted and began beating Jarrett down. Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal came to Jarrett’s aid as Karen Jarrett looked on and tended to Jeff.
While the Page/Jarrett brawl was being broken up by AEW referees and officials, Toni Storm and Mariah May burst into the frame in the middle of their own brawl, which was also broken up by officials.
Page attacked Jarrett in the Royal Rampage match on Rampage two weeks ago to set up a feud between the two. May won the Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament last month to earn a shot at Storm’s Women’s World Championship at All In, then turned on Storm who had been her storyline ally.
AEW’s Tony Khan posted about the angle on social media:
In addition to Hangman and Jeff, it also involved Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner @MariahMayx and her former mentor and @wembleystadium opponent AEW Women's World Champion Timeless Toni Storm. It was right by my chair as we wrapped up #AEWDynamite.
Two key matches on this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite now have new stipulations following the events of Saturday’s AEW Collision.
After Ricky Steamboat was announced as being a special guest on Friday for the Bryan Danielson vs. Jeff Jarrett match, Jarrett appeared on Collision and upped the ante with a request to make their match of the no disqualification, no time limit, anything goes variety.
Jeff Jarrett is more than happy to help Bryan Danielson prepare for the match of his life at #AEWAllIn! And has some special stipulations for their match THIS WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite!
In the other, the match between AEW American/International Champion MJF and Kyle Fletcher will now be a title eliminator bout, meaning Fletcher must beat or draw the champion to earn a future title match.
MJF appeared on the big screen following Fletcher’s victory over Brian Cage to make the offer, saying if he beat or went to a draw, the title match would be set for the following week.
The #AEW American Champion MJF gives Kyle Fletcher an opportunity this Wednesday on #AEWDynamite!
Three matches are on tap for next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with one involving the former AEW World Champion and another featuring a first-time-ever match between two legends.
AEW American/International Champion MJF will face Kyle Fletcher in a non-title match following the latter coming out to aid former partner Will Ospreay from an MJF post-match attack.
Ospreay had just defeated Lance Archer when MJF followed up on a show-opening promo by beating down Ospreay. Fletcher then prevented a Dynamite diamond ring punch before cutting a promo on MJF, challenging him to a match right there. MJF pretended he was going to do it and then said he would do it next week instead.
Ospreay and Fletcher were part of the United Empire faction in NJPW in addition to the Don Callis Family before Ospreay and Callis parted ways this year.
MJF and Fletcher squared off at last year’s All In when MJF & Adam Cole defeated Fletcher & Mark Davis for the ROH Tag Team titles.
The so-called "American Hero" attacks from behind, but Kyle Fletcher makes the save! Has this become Don Callis Family business?
Another match will see Bryan Danielson take on Jeff Jarrett for the first time ever.
The bout was made after Wednesday’s in-ring promo with Danielson and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland where Danielson offered up his career if he cannot beat Strickland at All In. Danielson walked backstage and Jarrett was rooting him on as a follow-up to last week’s pump-up speech that he gave him.
Danielson wasn’t in the mood and then issued the challenge for next Wednesday.
Bryan Danielson is ready to PROVE to Jeff Jarrett he is ALL. IN.
Another match made for next week will see Katsuyori Shibata taking on Bryan Keith as the feud between their respective groups continues.
Shibata returned last week to disrupt The Learning Tree’s plans. Chris Jericho said in a backstage promo celebrating 102 days as FTW Champion that since his finger was broken last week in his bout with Minoru Suzuki, Keith would take care of Shibata for him.
It's a Celebration for the 102-Days and counting For the World Champion!
Jeff Jarrett has opened up about his time in Calgary for the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
Jarrett, along with Dr. Martha Hart, presented tournament winner Bryan Danielson with the Owen Hart Cup on last week’s Dynamite after Danielson defeated Hangman Page in the finals. Jarrett says Owen would have loved the image of the three of them standing in the ring together.
“Martha in the ring who had just announced Bryan Danielson the winner, Bryan has the belt over his shoulder, me and him are jointly lifting the cup. The old adage a picture says a thousand words, to me it really does,” Jarrett said recently on his My World podcast. “It epitomizes to me, Owen’s in-ring skills. Because he was baby brother, and I’m not saying held to (Bret’s) standard, but Bret got to the WWF first, he was the Hart Foundation and had that tag team run and the spotlight naturally and rightfully so, had been on Bret. But I think Bret would even tell you about Owen’s in-ring skills and how really, really good they were.”
He continued:
“For Martha, myself, and Bryan, a good bud, I’ve respected him for so many years but I believe currently he’s the very best in-ring, I hate to use the word performer, I’ll just say in-ring professional wrestler because from bell to bell he tells stories, the passion, heart… So, for him to win the tournament, me be a part of it, Conrad, that was really, really, inside for me, very emotional.”
“Owen, I don’t like to say looking down, but Owen being aware of that – which I believe he is fully aware – I hope it put a smile on his face. The Owen that I know and loved he absolutely would have loved it, probably would have loved to pull a rib here or there but…” Jarrett continued.
Jarrett mentioned that he got to spend time with Martha and Oje Hart after the show. In a clip AEW would share on social media and later on Collision, Oje said that he’s never felt closer to his father than when he takes part in the Owen Hart Foundation events with AEW.
“A lot of time has gone by since he’s gone but I’ve actually never felt closer to him since doing these things so it’s good for me too,” Oje says to Jarrett in the video. “It’s really hitting hard. It’s probably hitting me the same way it’s hitting you, so thanks, man.”
Jarrett responded to Oje’s comments on his podcast, saying, “That warmed my heart in so many ways. I can’t put that into words.”
Jeff Jarrett is grateful for the role he’s gotten to play in AEW’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
As one of Owen’s best friends in wrestling, Jarrett was a fan-favorite in this year’s tournament and gave an emotional speech about what his late friend meant to him. Though Jarrett lost to Hangman Page in the first round, he’ll still be part of the tournament finals when he serves as the special guest enforcer for Bryan Danielson vs. Page.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be here,” Jarrett told Sports Illustrated. “I get to introduce my friend to an entirely new generation of wrestling fans.”
AEW has partnered with the Owen Hart Foundation to present the tournament annually since 2022. The 2024 finals are being held in Calgary on Dynamite this Wednesday with Danielson vs. Page on the men’s side and Willow Nightingale vs. Mariah May on the women’s side.
The Owen Hart Foundation was started by Dr. Martha Hart after her husband’s death in 1999. It supports local, national, and international communities through scholarships, housing, and partnership programs. Jarrett told Sports Illustrated he loves that Owen is being recognized for who he was both as a person and as a wrestler.
“It makes me very emotional. All the way back in May of 1999, I never thought that all these years later I would be continuing my in-ring career, which [is] a blessing beyond my wildest imaginations, or that there would be this Owen Hart Foundation, which Owen’s wife created and does so much good for so many people all over the world. Owen’s children are grown up, and they represent their father so proudly,” Jarrett said.
“I love that Owen is being recognized as a father, a family man, a husband, a brother, and a professional wrestler. And we’re doing it in Calgary, a place that meant a lot to him.”
Jarrett & Owen were tag team partners together, holding the WWF Tag Team titles one time.
The winner of Danielson vs. Page earns an AEW World Championship shot against Swerve Strickland at All In next month. Jarrett had huge praise for Danielson in his Sports Illustrated interview, saying he believes Danielson is “the epitome of professional wrestling.”
“It’s the guy who eliminated me against the guy who I think doesn’t have a peer among current full-time, active wrestlers,” Jarrett said. “That is no disrespect toward anybody else, but I don’t think Bryan Danielson has a peer. He’s that good, the epitome of professional wrestling. His storytelling is off the charts, his passion, his physicality–Bryan can do it all. So I feel incredibly grateful and honored to be part of it.”
Jay Lethal will get an ROH title match thanks to Jeff Jarrett’s win on AEW Collision.
Jarrett defeated ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston in a Memphis street fight on Saturday’s show. After Kingston initially kicked out of the stroke, all of Jarrett’s crew (Karen Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt) attacked Kingston, with Singh giving Kingston a chokeslam and Lethal hitting the lethal injection. Jarrett then hit another stroke for the win. With the win, Lethal will now get a future ROH title match.
In a later segment on Collision, Kingston cut a promo on Jay Lethal, referring to him under his real name, Jamar. Kingston said that Lethal used to love wrestling but then aligned himself with “that carny son-of-a-b****” Jarrett. He told Lethal not to bring his family to their match as Lethal’s mother would cry over the beating he would give Lethal not because she was sad about her son, but because she knew her son had it coming.
Kingston won the title last month at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, defeating Claudio Castagnoli. After Lethal continued to make motions towards the ROH title, Kingston agreed to a title match only if Jarrett could defeat him in a Memphis street fight.
In a rematch from May’s Double or Nothing, TBS Champion Kris Statlander will defend her title against the returning Jade Cargill as part of tonight’s AEW Rampage from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cargill made her surprise return last week to help Statlander fend off the Renegade Twins, only to lay out Statlander afterward. Statlander ended Cargill’s undefeated streak and title run at Double or Nothing in an impromptu match and will be looking for her tenth successful defense.
The show will also feature an eight-man tag team match as the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) will join Matt & Jeff Hardy against Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, The Butcher & The Blade.
AEW Trios Champions The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) and Billy Gunn will be in non-title action.
In a clash of former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions, The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) will battle with Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal.
**********
AEW Rampage is underway with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone & Chris Jericho on the call as the participants for the opening contest are already in the ring.
The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy w/Isiah Kassidy) and The Lucha Bros (Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Miedo w/Alex Abrahantes) defeated The Butcher, The Blade, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal (w/Karen Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, Kip Sabian, The Bunny & Penelope Ford)
(Did you catch all those names? This was practically a Lumberjack Match, as there were as many people outside the ring as there were in the actual match. A usual party match with a whole lot of spots leading to the most logical man getting the pin, that being Fenix, who is next in line for Jon Moxley, so he stood tall. Interesting events post match, as it looks like The Righteous & Hardys might be starting a program.)
We had quite the contrast of styles to begin, as Jarrett drove Penta into the ropes before doing a Fargo Strut. Fast tags made, as Fenix unleashed corner chops to Butcher before the Hardys took turns dishing out their offense. Blade was dropped with a double suplex, while Lethal suffered a springing corner splash. As Matt wanted a Twist of Fate, Jarrett attacked from behind to allow Butcher to take over. Lethal mocked the Penta strut, which allowed Dutt & Sabian to get in cheap shots ringside, as Matt was isolated during commercial.
The heels tried attacking the faces to cut off Matt’s hot tag, but Fenix dodged the Butcher attack and made the tag, running wild. With Jarrett & Lethal placed over the top rope, Fenix did his rope walk kick to both until Penta hit a somersault dive onto a pile outside. Fenix went to follow, but Blade pulled him to the floor. Alex Abrahantes was seemingly about to do a dive, but was cut off by Dutt, who ate a punch. Sabian did the same, but Abrahantes poked him in the eyes and leapt to the floor, right into the clutches of Singh, who rag dolled him. Fenix hit a thrust kick and twisting dive onto a pile of bodies before dropping Blade with a sit out driver to get the pin. The Hardys were brawling with Jarrett & Lethal up the ramp before Singh laid them both out, unbeknownst to the Lucha Bros. The Righteous, Dutch & Vincent walked out on the stage and stood over the bodies of The Hardys.
-Renee Paquette is backstage to ask what is next for Dr. Britt Baker after losing the four way on Dynamite. Baker said things haven’t gone as planned, as she should be a two time Women’s champion by now. She’s going to do what she does best, make history, this time becoming the first woman to hold the Women’s & TBS Title. It’s criminal she’s never had a TBS Title match. Therefore, Baker issues a challenge for the winner of Statlander vs. Cargill later tonight to face her in the main event of Collision tomorrow.

-There’s a QTV segment with Johnny TV taking the place of QT Marshall, who is off wrestling in Mexico. Aaron Solo asks if Marshall is coming back and Johnny said of course, then did a ridiculous handshake. There was a masked luchador standing by named El Hijo del Harvey, someone Johnny brought in to show solidarity while Marshall was gone. Johnny laid him out, as he & Solo had to restrain Harley Cameron from stabbing the poor guy with scissors.
Matt Taven & Mike Bennett defeated Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal
(While Daniels & Sydal got in some offense, this was a solid win for The Kingdom, who are after the ROH Tag Titles going forward. It certainly makes sense from a storyline perspective for them to presumably win the titles; I just wonder if they’ll have that match on TV or at Wrestle Dream. I’m hoping it happens on Dynamite to be perfectly honest.)
Bennett got the first takedown on Daniels with a shoulder tackle, but Daniels fired off the arm drag, hip toss and drop toe hold before tagging Sydal, who crashed down with a mariposa. Taven made the tag, but was lit up with a series of strikes, while Bennett ate a spin kick to the outside. Daniels was knocked to the floor, as Bennett met him with a bounced back forearm strike that led to commercial.
Taven tried for a springing moonsault, which Daniels dodged, as Sydal & Daniels hit a sort of awkward assisted back suplex. Bennett avoided a Sydal high kick and flattened him with a running Death Valley Driver, while Taven hit a corner splash on Daniels. The Proton Pack connected and Taven got the win.
Post match, Taven said they didn’t have a lot of time, as they need to rush to the hospital to check on Roderick Strong. Taven doesn’t blame Samoa Joe for what happened, he blames Adam Cole. The Kingdom wants to take back what is rightfully theirs, the ROH Tag Team Titles. Bennett said its Neck Health Awareness Month and shows their red bracelets. For those who don’t believe in such a thing, you ball up for fist, punch them in the weiner and lay them out with a piledriver. Neck Health Awareness matters, as the Kingdom are coming home to Roddy. This was hilariously delivered by Bennett & Taven.
-Renee Paquette is backstage with Mogul Embassy, as Brian Cage said The Young Bucks were lucky Cage was exhausted after his match with Hangman Page, otherwise he would’ve laid them out on Dynamite. Swerve Strickland said The Bucks were friendly when they were on his podcasts, but now they’re back to putting on their EVP hats. Strickland issued a challenge for Grand Slam for Cage & The Gates of Agony vs. Page & The Bucks.
The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass defeated Peter Avalon & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)
(A quick win for the Trios Champions, as I’m just disappointed we were robbed of hearing Avalon’s saxophone entrance theme. As for tomorrow night, it looks like the next contender for the Trios Titles are about to be set.)
Floyd was able to chop down Gunn with boots to the hamstring early, as Avalon chop blocked the leg, but opted to pose, allowing Gunn to hit a massive upper cut. Bowens made the tag, but Avalon hit a dropkick flush, with Bowens responding with a thrust kick. The match broke down, as Magnum & Floyd were sent packing, as Avalon was hit with Scissor Me Timbers. Gunn hit the Fame-Asser, while Caster connected with the Mic Drop for the easy win.
Post match, Dark Order interrupted the celebration, as John Silver said they’re the good guys and want a shot at the Trios Titles. Bowens asks why they deserve a title shot, which Evil Uno said the last four years of grinding to get to where they are is why. Uno is tired of good things happening to bad people and issues a challenge for tomorrow night, a singles match to show them they deserve a title show. Gunn said they’ll decide it with Rock, Paper, Scissors, but it was scissors every time. Bowens finally just accepted and said whoever it is, they’ll spank their ass purple.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) defeated Damian Chambers & Lord Crewe
Davis & Fletcher wasted no time attacking right at the bell and violently drove Chambers & Crewe into one another. The sandwich double lariat led to both Chambers & Crewe being dropped with the Coriolis for the easy win.
Kris Statlander defeated Jade Cargill (w/Mark Sterling) to retain the TBS Title
(Chris Jericho said on commentary this was Cargill’s best match of her career and I would have to agree. I was initially worried we would be robbed of a lot of action with the commercial break in the middle, but this was an excellent battle. The amount of counters throughout showed how each woman was evenly matched and while the rumors are out there about Cargill’s future, if this was indeed her last match in AEW, it was a great one to go out on. I do hope she sticks around though.)
Both ladies showed off their power with collar elbow tie ups before trading lariats, with neither women budging. Both traded catching the other with a cross body attempt, as Statlander missed a pump kick, but Cargill was sent outside. Statlander tried a cross body off the apron, but Cargill caught and slammed her on the apron. During commercial, Cargill continued to show off her strength, doing pushups in between her onslaught of offense.
After going back and forth with attempts, it was Cargill who hit a stalling vertical suplex. Cargill held on for another, but Statlander countered into a spinning sit out fisherman’s buster. Both ladies kipped up at the same time and started slugging it out. Statlander won the battle, delivering a charging corner knee and Blue Thunder Bomb for two. Statlander was distracted by Sterling, who Cargill nearly ran into, but he shoved her out of the way and took the bullet eating a Statlander forearm. Cargill hit the pump kick and nearly hit Jaded, which Statlander got a roll up for two. Cargill popped up and hit a nice choke slam for a near fall of her own. Statlander avoided Jaded again, hitting a discus lariat, scissors kick and Friday Night Fever for the victory. Post match, Cargill shook Statlander’s hand, hugged her and gave her the ring as Statlander stood tall to end the show.

The Maui Food Bank will receive a sizable donation thanks to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s sponsorship of an AEW Dynamite match last night.
Jeff Jarrett defeated Jeff Hardy in a match that involved the character Leatherface from the popular horror franchise. The sponsorship was to promote the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, which goes on sale tomorrow.
Our own Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW received over $100,000 as part of the deal.
“It was a big number. It was over a $100,000 sponsorship,” Meltzer said on the show.
AEW president Tony Khan announced to the live crowd in Nashville that he would donate “every dime I got” from the deal to the Maui Food Bank.
.@TonyKhan told the crowd in Nashville that "every dime I got" from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match sponsorship will go to the Maui Food Bank.
Khan also shared that much of the creative for last night’s show had to be reworked at the last minute.
“Thank you all who watched #AEWDynamite tonight,” he wrote on Twitter.”If haven’t seen it yet, please check it out + please donate @MauiFoodBank
“Thank you again to WBD + our team for helping rework tonight’s whole creative, including @TXChainSawGame with 100% of funds from the sponsor to @mauifoodbank.”
In a most unusual match, Jeff Jarrett will take on Jeff Hardy in a Texas Chain Saw Massacre death match on this Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen edition of AEW Dynamite.
The match is a sponsorship for the new video game that is aligned with the famous movie. It will be their first singles match since a December 2011 cage match at TNA Final Resolution.
Jarrett told Hardy they should both bring their crews, so there will be plenty of people involved.
In another new bout, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy will defend against former partner Wheeler Yuta. Cassidy defeated Johnny TV on Friday’s Rampage to score his 28th title defense while Yuta is still looking for his first run with AEW gold.
Here’s the current card for this Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee:
AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy defends against Wheeler Yuta
Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy death match
MJF & Adam Cole talk about All In
Darby Allin & Nick Wayne vs. Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)
Winner advances to AEW All In Women’s title four-way: Britt Baker vs. The Bunny
In a rematch from nearly two weeks ago, the Young Bucks & Hangman Page will take on Dark Order on tonight’s 100th episode of AEW Rampage.
Page, Matt & Nick Jackson defeated John Silver, Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno on last week’s Dynamite but the Dark Order declined to help Page and the Bucks in a post-match attack from the Blackpool Combat Club.
The show will feature two matches in the eight-team Blind Eliminator tournament with the two winning teams moving onto next Wednesday’s semifinals on Dynamite.
In one, Jeff Jarrett & Matt Hardy will team for the first time since 2011 in Impact Wrestling as they face Jericho Appreciation Society’s Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara. In the other, Brian Cage & Big Bill will team for the first time ever against Matt Sydal & Trent Beretta.
Former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will face Marina Shafir for the second time ever.

Taped in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, it’s Rampage 100!
Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Chris Jericho were on commentary.
The Dark Order (John Silver, Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno) defeated The Young Bucks & Adam Page (12:54).
There was no follow-up from the end of Dynamite Wednesday and how it led to this match.
Matt and Page hit a pair of dives early on the floor. In the ring, Matt Jackson gave Reynolds the locomotion Northern Lights suplex. Page followed that up with the powerbomb into the Bucks corner, who added a pair of enziguris to the back of Reynolds’s head. Ricky Business from the Bucks got two. Uno pulled the ropes open on Matt Jackson, and he fell to the floor and took a beating from Uno and Silver on the outside.
Silver caught Matt Jackson with a brainbuster for a near fall during the split-screen break. After the split-screen break, Jackson fought out of a back superplex attempt and dove onto Uno and Silver on the floor. He got the hot tag to Page. Page slipped on a springboard lariat attempt, but managed to still hit Uno with a lariat. Page gave Silvera fallaway slam and hit a plancha on Reynolds on the floor.
Page hit a top rope lariat on Reynolds for a near fall. Uno hit Page with a boot on the apron, and Sliver and Reynolds caught Page to set the move up again. But, the Young Bucks took them out with superkicks. Page gave Uno a boot to the floor, and then two followed that up with a shooting star press to the floor while the Bucks held Uno. Back in the ring, Page hit Reynolds with a lariat and Matt Jackson came off the top with an elbow for two.
The Bucks went for the Meltzer Driver, but Reynolds escaped. Silver and Reynolds tried to set up Matt for their rapid-fire finish, but Nick broke that up. The Bucks hit the Meltzer Diver on Reynolds for two. Tags were made on both sides to Page and Uno. Uno hit a boot, but Page came back with a lariat. Silver caught Page with a german suplex, but the Bucks ran in with superkicks for everybody.
The Bucks held Uno open for the Buckshot Lariat, but Silver and Reynolds kept Page from hitting the move. The Bucks took them out with dives to the floor. Page went for the Buckshot, but Uno pulled the ref in the way. Then, Konosuke Takeshita came out of the crowd to distract the referee. Uno hit Page with a low blow, and Claudio Castignoli ran in with an uppercut. Uno rolled up Page for the upset pin.
After the match, the Dark Order were more than happy to get out of the way of Castignoli and Takeshita, who entered the ring with steel chairs. Kenny Omega ran in with his own chair to chase off the BCC.
– A QTV segment recapping their recent successes. Harley Cameron still thinks she and Anthony Bowens will make a great couple, and Johnny TV kicked a perfectly good MP3 player into the trash to show how much he hates the Acclaimed’s music. He couldn’t just delete the tracks?
Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia vs. Matt Hardy & Jeff Jarrett (w/ Jarrett’s Oddities) to advance in the Blind Eliminator Tournament (7:38 aired).
Guevara came to the ring slapping hands with the crowd like a babyface. The winners of this match will face the Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin pairing on Dynamite Wednesday.
Hardy and Garcia started the match with a dance vs. “Delete!” off. There was a dueling chant for Karen Jarrett. Some of the fans loved her, and some did not.
Jarrett gave Guevara a hiptoss and then did the Fargo Strut. Guevara came back with a dropkick that sent Jarrett to the floor. Guevara went for a dive on Jarrett, but Jarrett pulled Jay Lethal in the way and he took the bump.
After a commercial, Hardy sent Garcia headfirst into all of the turnbuckles in one corner of the ring. A pull up-sit out powerbomb from Hardy got a near fall. Hardy hit a splash mountain out of the corner for another near fall. Hardy went for the Twist of Fate, but Garcia escaped and got the tag to Guevara.
Sonjay Dutt distracted the referee, and Lethal slid Jarrett’s guitar into the ring for Hardy. Hardy kicked it away, then walked into the GTH from Guevara. Garcia got the blind tag and got the pin, sending his team to the semi-finals.
After the match, Jarrett’s crew jumped Matt Hardy. Brother Zay tried to make the save, but he was overwhelmed and disposed of by Satnam Singh. Ethan Page ran in and evened the odds up enough to chase the heels away. I hope this is a genuine turn from Page.
Hikaru Shida defeated “The Problem” Marina Shafir (3:31)
Jericho put over Shafir as one of Ronda Rousey’s “Four Horsewomen.” Shafir dumped Shida out of a torture rack for a near fall. Shida came back with a series of forearms and a sliding knee for a near fall. Shida missed a dropkick off the top. Sharif went for an ankle lock, but Shida escaped, hit a kick, and landed the falcon arrow for another near fall. Katana kick got Shida the pinfall.
– Renee Paquette interviewed Kris Statlander, who has already defended her TBS title six times. Statlander is “the defeater of the undefeated,” which she and Paquette believe would make a really good t-shirt. Statlander ends with, “Kris Stat is where it’s at.” I think that would also make a very good shirt!
Big Bill & Brian Cage defeated Trent Beretta & Matt Sydal to advance in the Blind Eliminator Tournament. (12:24)
The winners here will face MJF and Adam Cole on Dynamite Wednesday, where I hope everyone will continue to learn about friendship from Max and Cole.
Beretta sent Big Bill to the floor with a leverage move over the ropes. Beretta tried to follow him out with a dive, but Bill caught him and chokeslammed him onto the ring apron. Bill slammed him back-first into the ring post, then tossed him to the floor. Bill played up his cocky heel persona and it was great.
During the split-screen break, Cage and Bill took turns tossing Beretta around the ring. Once the commercial ended, Beretta hit Cage with a spinning DDT and got the hot tag to Sydal. Sydal took Cage down with a series of kicks. Cage hit a kick of his own and went for the Drill Claw, but Sydal countered it into a hurricanrana for a near fall.
Sydal cut off Bill when he tried to interfere, and Beretta ran to hold Bill open for a kneedrop off the top from Sydal. Beretta followed up with a sliding kneedrop. Then Cage floored them both with a double lariat.
The fight went to the floor, and Cage tossed Sydal into the crowd. Beretta hit Cage with a spear, and Sydal came off the barricade with a meteora on Big Bill.
Back in the ring, Beretta and Sydal came off the top rope on Bill and Cage, but Bill hit Beretta with a black hole slam and Cage hit Sydal with a jackhammer. They went for a double pin but only got two. Cage and Bill accidentally clotheslined each other, and Beretta hit Bill with a half-and-half. Sydal came off the top with a meteora, but Cage caught him and tossed him into the turnbuckles. Cage set up Sydal for a powerbomb off the top, but Beretta popped up and German suplexed Page off the top rope! Beretta followed up with a piledriver, and Sydal came off the top with a meteora on Cage for another near fall.
Sydal and Beretta gave Bill a double superkick, but Bill shrugged it off and gave them a double clothesline. Cage and Bill fished off Sydal with an awesome double-team move: Cage held up Sydal for a powerbomb, and Bill killed him with a stiff lariat to get the pinfall.
Bill and Cage will now face MJF & Adam Cole in the semi-finals of the Blind Eliminator Tournament.
This was a great main event.
Final Thoughts: There was more star power in the opening match than in the last month of Rampage. They should do that more often. If you DVR’d this show, it’s worth checking out.
A concession stand match, as well as a TBS title defense, are set for this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
During Saturday’s debut of AEW Collision, Jeff Jarrett challenged Mark Briscoe to a concession stand brawl. Jarrett, his wife Karen, and Jay Lethal faced Mark Briscoe, Papa Briscoe, and Aubrey Edwards in a mixed tag match on Rampage. In his promo, Jarrett brought up the Tupelo concession stand brawl back in the Memphis territory and said there would be no Karen or Dutt this Wednesday, but only himself and Briscoe.
A match for the TBS Championship was also set with champion Kris Statlander defending against Taya Valkyrie. The two exchanged words on Rampage with Valkyrie accusing Statlander of stealing her thunder when Statlander defeated Jade Cargill for the title at Double or Nothing.
The company also announced a “blind eliminator tournament” for Wednesday, where the winners will get a shot at the AEW Tag Team titles. Neither participants in the tournament, nor the format, were announced.
Minoru Suzuki will also make his return to AEW, teaming with Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara against Action Andretti, Darius Martin & AR Fox. On Dynamite this past week, Jericho suggested he and Guevara team with one another after tensions started to flare between the two.
Here is the updated lineup for Wednesday’s Dynamite:
TBS Champion Kris Statlander defends against Taya Valkyrie
Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe in a concession stand brawl
Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki vs. Action Andretti, Darius Martin & AR Fox
Blind Eliminator tournament for an AEW Tag Team title shot
The Hardys vs. The Gunns
Orange Cassidy & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Daniel Garcia
Jeff Jarrett is attempting to get heat — both in the ring and in trademark form.

Jarrett currently works for AEW in multiple roles. He joined the company as its director of business development last November and also competes in the ring.
At Double or Nothing, Jarrett & Jay Lethal were unsuccessful in their attempt to win the AEW Tag Team titles from FTR. Jarrett and Lethal are part of a faction with Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, and Karen Jarrett.
Jarrett joined AEW after departing his position as WWE’s senior vice president of live events last August.
Jarrett also co-hosts the “My World” podcast about his career alongside Conrad Thompson.
The Tag Team title match for AEW Double or Nothing on May 28 is official.
FTR will defend the titles against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in Las Vegas after agreeing to their challenge on Dynamite Wednesday. Harwood told Sonjay Dutt that they would accept the match as long as they admitted they were using Mark Briscoe. Briscoe came out and said that he talked to Tony Khan and he will be the special guest referee for their Tag Team title match.
After the announcement, Briscoe offered to celebrate with tequila. Dutt misted Harwood in the eyes with the tequila. Briscoe attempted to settle things between the two groups but Harwood, blinded by the tequila, grabbed Briscoe and piledrove him by accident. Lethal, Jarrett, Dutt, and Singh bailed as FTR tended to Briscoe.
Recent developments have been Mark Briscoe agreeing to team up with Lethal, unaware that also included the rest of his group. FTR have since accused Lethal and company of being insincere with their friendship. Last week, Lethal, Jarrett, Singh, and Dutt worked on the Briscoe chicken farm, with Lethal throwing out the challenge to FTR for Double or Nothing.
The updated lineup for AEW Double or Nothing:
AEW World Championship: MJF defends against Sammy Guevara, Jungle Boy Jack Perry, and Darby Allin
AEW Tag Team titles: FTR vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal
Hikaru Shida made her return to the company, saving Willow Nightingale from an attack by The Outcasts (Ruby Soho, Saraya, and Toni Storm). At first, Shida acted like she was going to turn on Nightingale and join the Outcasts. However, it was a ruse as Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter appeared from behind and attacked the Outcasts, sending them reeling.
Shida last appeared on the January 2 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation.
A vignette was shown on Wednesday’s Dynamite showing Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Jeff Jarrett, and Satnam Singh appearing at Mark Briscoe’s home. The group spent the day working on the chicken farm. During the vignette, Lethal mentioned that Briscoe would be in action on Rampage this coming Friday. He also issued the challenge to FTR for a Tag Team title match at Double or Nothing, pointing out that he had recently defeated Cash Wheeler and Jarrett had recently scored a pinfall over Dax Harwood.
Here is an extended cut of the vignette that aired on Wednesday night:

Jarrett and Lethal were the final team standing after the 10-team battle royale on Dynamite, last eliminating Trent Beretta of Best Friends to secure their place in the title bout.
