Impact Code Red results: Callihan vs. Dreamer, title matches

Impact Wrestling and House of Glory joined forces for Code Red on Sunday night, the first live stream on Impact Plus. The show took place at the NYC Arena in Jamaica, Queens.

The main event pit Sami Callihan against Tommy Dreamer in a oVe rules street fight, plus two of Impact’s titles were on the line in matches.

Impact X-Division Champion Rich Swann defeated Evander James, Smiley, Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and HOG Crown Jewel Champion Mantequilla in a six-man scramble to retain his title

Swann and Mantequilla’s titles were on the line if either were pinned. This was the quintessential X-Division multi-man match with fast action, dives, and big spots.

The wrestlers started with an Impact vs. HOG face-off and brawl. We saw several pair-ups in the ring to do short sequences of counters and big moves. They all hit dives one after the other. They did a Tower of Doom spot, and then went into hitting their signature moves and breaking up each other’s pin attempts.

At the end, it was Austin hitting The Fold on James but getting the pin stolen by Swann after a 450. There’s a similar story being told between Austin and Petey Williams, so it seems Austin is finally going to start chasing Swann on Impact. The HOG guys looked impressive, especially Mantequilla. Smiley showed a lot of athleticism for his size.

– Sami Callihan cut a promo on video, talking trash about Tommy Dreamer and about the older ECW guys that keep coming back for the spotlight.

HOG World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Gangone defeated Moose and Ken Broadway to retain his title

Gangone has the longest combined HOG Championship reigns in the promotion’s history and was the smallest of the three men in the ring here. Being the bigger men, Moose and Broadway were just tossing each other all over the place with bombs and dives. Gangone’s approach was more of a speed one, trying to only take on one man at a time.

The finish saw Moose prepare to hit the No Jackhammer Needed, but then he stopped, flipped off the fans, and left to the back. In the ring, Gangone and Broadway traded a couple of near falls until Gangone hit Dreams by the Waterfall to retain. The crowd died out towards the end. Moose’s walkout was a weak way to get him out of the match.

The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

This started out as a fast-paced match, but Wentz got distracted playing to the fans and The North cut the ring in half on him. Xavier came in for the hot tag, which didn’t last long. The Rascalz went for their Hot Fire Flame move too early — Alexander pulled out Xavier, leaving Wentz to moonsault and crash.

The Rascalz recovered and worked as a team. They got a near fall after a second Hot Fire Flame, with Page pulling the referee out of the ring. Wentz and Page brawled outside the ring, with the latter hitting a uranage on the apron.

Back in the ring, Page hit a Razor’s Edge and the Tornado of the North on Xavier to seal the deal and pick up the win. The North are establishing themselves as a top team, and if we had quarterly “Most Improved” awards, Josh Alexander would get a nomination. Great match.

– Matt Striker interviewed Michael Elgin backstage. Elgin talked about sending a message to Brian Cage and sending him to the hospital. Elgin discussed defeating Johnny Impact and Pentagon Jr. on this week’s episode, and Elgin said he’s now going to send Willie Mack to the hospital. It seems like Striker has joined Impact Wrestling — just keep him away from the commentary table.

Tessa Blanchard & Violette defeated Scarlett Bordeaux & Sonya Strong

Blanchard paired up with Strong for a quick sequence of reversals and counters. Violette and Bordeaux came in and low blowed each other, and I had never asked myself if low blows in women’s matches count as DQs.

Violette and Bordeaux actually went on to have a good run with each other, with Bordeaux going for corner hip attacks and a stinkface early, but Violette cut her off as she and Blanchard worked over Bordeaux for a while. Blanchard showed off her submission offense. Josh Mathews and Don Callis speculated whether Blanchard vs. Bordeaux was a tease of the future of the Knockouts division.

Bordeaux made a good comeback and tagged in Strong. She went against both women, but had a couple hiccups when working with Violette. Bordeaux hit a big top rope plancha to the floor.

Blanchard went for a Dudebuster, but Bordeaux reversed it into a Canadian Destroyer. Strong hit a dragon suplex on Violette. She went for a suplex on Blanchard, but wasn’t strong enough to properly execute it. Blanchard hit the corner Magnum and the Buzzsaw DDT for the pin.

This match really exposed how Blanchard and Bordeaux were just on a whole other level compared to the HOG women.

– Melissa Santos interviewed Willie Mack about his feelings about fighting Michael Elgin. Mack just said something about Code Blue and walking out with the W.

Michael Elgin defeated Willie Mack

Really good back-and-forth match that made both look like juggernauts in the ring. It started off as a hoss fight with shoulder tackles and strikes, and as the match went on, it got more athletic and had high impact moves and slams.

They both did fighting spirit spots at one point that built to a clash of clotheslines in the middle of the ring — just two huge behemoths clashing. There were near falls when Elgin hit a Falcon Arrow and when Mack hit his Samoan drop and moonsault combination.

The finish saw Elgin hit a huge lariat and Celtic Bomb, followed by a Buckle Bomb and the Elgin Bomb to finally put down Mack. Best match so far on the show.

After the match, Elgin cut off a turnbuckle with a pair of scissors. He hit a backfist on the ref who tried to stop him. Elgin went to hit a Buckle Bomb into the exposed turnbuckle, but Mack reversed into a slingshot and a stunner.

Mack has a big tag match against oVe on this week’s Impact, so it’s good that he didn’t get laid out, but it also served little purpose for Elgin to take a stunner here. Completely unnecessary post-match angle.

– Striker interviewed Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie. Johnny was just arguing and venting over having to deal with meatheads Cage and Elgin, and now having to deal with a crazy Eddie Edwards.

Valkyrie told Johnny that he should rest — because she would take out Alisha Edwards and they’d win the match. They made fun of Eddie and Alisha for being from Boston. Johnny and Valkyrie are so good together.

Johnny Impact & Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie (w/ Johnny Bravo) defeated Eddie & Alisha Edwards

This match had intergender rules, which are different from mixed tag rules. The men and women could fight each other. Johnny and Taya teased Eddie and Alisha for Johnny and Taya being a far sexier couple, with Johnny Bravo applauding. In response, Eddie and Alisha showed they were a fighting couple and started the attack.

The match mostly saw Eddie get the better of Johnny, while Taya would get the better of Alisha, and thus they traded momentum as they tagged in and out. A near fall came when Johnny hit a top rope Spanish Fly and a shining wizard for a two count.

At one point, Eddie hit a dive on Johnny while Alisha hit a top rope plancha to the floor on both Johnny and Taya. The teams traded blows in the ring, ending with both men superkicking their opponent’s spouses before kicking each other down. The fans chanted “This is Impact.”

Eddie and Alisha hit a double DDT on Johnny and Valkyrie for a near fall. Johnny went for the Countdown to Impact on Alisha, but she moved away. Alisha hit a tornado DDT on Johnny, but Bravo pulled the referee out.

Eddie took out Bravo, but Johnny baseball kicked him. In the ring, Valkyrie hit Alisha with Johnny’s Ultimate X cross, leaving Alisha ready for Johnny to pin. This was a really fun match.

Impact Tag Team Champions & HOG Tag Team Champions LAX (Santana & Ortiz) defeated oVe (Dave & Jake Crist) & The New York Wrecking Krew (Chris Seaton & Smooth Blackmon) in a triple threat match to retain their titles

There were lucha tag rules in this match. It started with the wrestlers pairing up for quick sequences before each team had a chance to work on someone in particular and get some of their tag moves in. oVe worked on Santana, who they cut the ring in half on. LAX and NYWK mostly came in and out until the end when they had a good run against each other.

There was a spot with Dave Crist doing a top rope moonsault onto the floor, but his foot landed straight on the metal guardrail and seemed stuck for a second. A minute later, LAX took out Jake Crist in the ring to retain the titles. The referees were looking over Dave right when they cut the camera shot to the announce table, so I wasn’t able to see if he was helped out to the back.

Good match overall except for that scary spot with Dave. NY Wrecking Krew looked good — they have potential and reminded me of something between the Dark City Fight Club and BLK-OUT.

– Tommy Dreamer cut a promo backstage. He said he decides when his career will end and not Callihan. He talked about Callihan being just a kid, while Dreamer has been all over the place. Dreamer said that they’re both going to go all out and never be the same again.

Sami Callihan defeated Tommy Dreamer in an oVe rules street fight match

Callihan jumped Dreamer during his entrance and thus started the brawl at the ramp. They made their way to the ring, where Dreamer got time to recover. They brought out weapons early, trading shots with the actual trash cans from the show. At one point, Dreamer ate something from the garbage.

They used the ring bell, an old ECW Championship replica belt, chairs, water bottles, turnbuckle hooks, and a puppet, among other weapons.

As they started chasing the finish, Dreamer brought out a bunch of Legos, where he hit Callihan with a cutter. Dreamer brought out a door while Callihan got his bat, which Dreamer got straight to his gut before taking the Cactus Special through the door for the loss. Okay match — a lot of weapon spots, but it had a considerably slower pace than the previous match.

Dreamer seemed hurt at the end. Callis and the doctor were looking over him as the show went off the air.

Final thoughts —

This was an okay show. The Impact talent looked strong all around, especially when paired up with the HOG wrestlers, who for the most part looked like indie talent. The production was great — proof that the United We Stand show’s issues were out of Impact’s hands.

Elgin vs. Mack and the tag team triple threat are the two matches I’d recommend checking out.

Impact Wrestling results: Rebellion fallout, RVD returns

Fallout from Rebellion was the theme of this week’s episode of Impact from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto. The opening video was a full recap of the Rebellion pay-per-view, showcasing all of the matches.

The Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, where Impact was having television tapings. There was a great cameo from Disco Inferno talking trash about the Philly fans and some of the Knockouts until Taya Valkyrie came out to get rid of him. Valkyrie then bullied Santos instead. Matt Striker also made a surprise appearance.

– Michael Elgin came down to the ring to open the episode. He cut a promo saying that Brian Cage wasn’t there to open the show, which is usually the tradition for a new champion. Elgin said it’s all because he took Cage out.

Elgin talked trash to the Canadian crowd for cheering on Cage instead of him. Elgin compared himself to Georges St-Pierre and Wayne Gretzky. He sent Cage a message, telling Cage that he left Japan to become the Impact World Champion.

Johnny Impact came out to interrupt Elgin. He told Elgin that he can’t just come out and jump the line. They talked trash to each other before Johnny finally claimed that it was him that sent Cage to the hospital. Johnny said that as the former World Champion, he deserves his rematch.

Suddenly, Konnan of all people came out to interrupt them. Konnan said that once again, Pentagon Jr. and Fenix are under his management, and he is here to represent Pentagon. Konnan said he thinks Pentagon is the one man to have a claim to the title.

Elgin tried to attack Konnan, but Pentagon came out and brawled with Elgin. They had a pull-apart, with Johnny getting a cheap shot on Elgin before taking off. Elgin took out the group of security and called out Johnny. The fans were mostly behind Pentagon.

– Josh Mathews and Don Callis gave an update on Cage, saying that he is recovering at home. Elgin, Johnny, and Pentagon are set to face off in a number one contender’s match later, with the winner getting the next shot at Cage’s World title.

Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams

Austin offered a handshake, but he pulled Williams into a headlock. That advantage didn’t last long as Williams got him with a dropkick to the back, a rana tossing Austin outside, and a dive on him.

Back in the ring, Austin took out Williams and hit a dive himself. Austin did a couple of headstands on the apron and dodged Williams’ offense. Williams did the corner National Anthem, but he gave Austin time to recover and come back with a springboard kick for a two count.

Austin got an armbreaker, slicing Williams’ fingers with the playing card while at it. Williams got a two count with a schoolboy. He hit a German suplex and a Russian leg sweep. Williams finally started chasing the Canadian Destroyer, but Austin was ready to cut him off with a kick for another two count.

Austin hit the Curb Stomp, but Williams reversed The Fold. Austin hit a swinging neckbreaker, and when he went for a second stomp, Williams reversed into a Sharpshooter. It was broken when Austin got to the ropes.

Austin hit a big top rope famouser for a two count. He hit a headscissors takedown from the top rope, then followed with The Fold to take the win. Good match, but it was starting to drag when the finish came.

– Somewhere in the Undead Realm, Rosemary was walking around with the stolen Undead Maid of Honor. She is waiting for the firefly to come out.

– oVe cut a video promo. Sami Callihan said that Impact management screwed him by banning his family from being out there for his match against Rich Swann at Rebellion. Callihan made the challenge for a four-on-four oVe rules match next week.

Rosemary (w/ The Undead Maid of Honor) vs. Kiera Hogan ended in a no contest

Hogan started with a couple of forearms on Rosemary and dodged Rosemary’s attacks. Hogan hit her running hip attack combo, then hit a rana and a top rope plancha. Rosemary cut her off with a sidewalk slam and went to attack her. Hogan took down Rosemary with a kick to the knee and followed with a couple of superkicks for a two count.

Hogan went for the finish, but Rosemary hit a big German suplex to cut her off. Rosemary went for a spear, but Hogan dodged it. Rosemary locked in the Upside Down. Hogan kicked Rosemary, with Rosemary crashing into the ramp. Rosemary shoved her down to the floor.

Suddenly, Su Yung came out with her Undead Bridesmaids and attacked Rosemary. Hogan teased helping Rosemary, but she decided not to. In the ring, the Undead Maid of Honor and Yung took their turns attacking Rosemary. Pretty bad match — Rosemary hasn’t looked good since her return from injury.

– Melissa Santos interviewed Taya Valkyrie, asking how she felt after defending her Knockouts Championship at Rebellion. Valkyrie said she has defeated everyone and there is no one left.

Madison Rayne walked up and said that she pinned Valkyrie last time. Rayne challenged Valkyrie to put the Knockouts title on the line against her tonight. Valkyrie blew her off, telling Rayne that one day she’ll get the match, but it’s up to Valkyrie to say when.

– Josh Mathews announced that The Great Muta returns to Impact for the Impact Plus special event “A Night You Can’t Mist” on June 8 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

– The Impact Plus Flashback of the Week was the first blood match between RVD and Rhino from TNA Final Resolution 2010.

– Valkyrie had a meeting with Impact management. Melissa Santos was outside hearing the meeting along with us. Valkyrie came out and told Santos that this is how things are dealt with, and she announced that she doesn’t have to defend the title for 30 days — so if Rayne wants a fight next week, she can have it, but it won’t be for the Knockouts Championship.

– Santana and Ortiz were backstage. Ortiz was binge drinking and Santana called him out, but Konnan came in. He told LAX that in two days, they’re defending their Tag Team titles at Code Red. Ortiz told Konnan that The Rascalz invited them to the Treehouse.

Fenix defeated Eddie Edwards

They shook hands to start the match. They went to have a fast-paced sequence with counters and reversals, going for wrist control. Eventually, Edwards found himself on the floor, which frustrated Edwards enough to pick up his kendo stick, but the referee stopped him.

Fenix once again kicked Edwards, and once again Edwards went for the kendo stick, only to get kicked again by Fenix. Edwards finally dropkicked Fenix to the floor and got a bit of control of the match.

Suddenly, we got the visual that Killer Kross was on the ramp watching the match.

Back in the ring, Edwards started stomping on Fenix, but Edwards kept getting distracted by Kross’ presence, giving Fenix the opening to hit a crucifix bomb for a two count. Edwards hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for two.

Edwards once again distracted himself with Kross, giving Fenix time to recover and exchange some chops before superkicking Edwards and hitting a cutter. Edwards hit a big forearm and a Tiger Driver for a 2.99 near fall.

Kross took Kenny the Kendo Stick and offered it to Edwards, and it was this distraction that gave Fenix the opening for a couple of kicks and a spinning Muscle Buster to pin Edwards.

Kross walked away with the kendo stick. Kross was wearing a T-shirt that said “Every great hero needs an even greater villain,” which I’m guessing is a hint towards Cage vs. Kross down the line.

– Backstage, Tommy Dreamer offered his help to Rich Swann for next week’s battle against oVe. Swann said he had Willie Mack and they were missing one more man. Suddenly, Scarlett Bordeaux came up and hinted at offering her help. Swann tried to talk her out of it, but she brought up Fallah Bahh instead.

– Rob Van Dam made his return to Impact Wrestling. He used his same old theme song, which is still terrible, but it now holds a nostalgic spot in my heart.

RVD cut a promo saying that he could just go on naming names he wants to wrestle, but instead he talked about seeing all the wrestlers do his moves. He said he wants to show them the difference between imitating the hero and being Rob Van Dam.

Ethan Page then came out. He had a couple of chairs and taunted RVD with them, showing him how to use chairs for once — by sitting down. They talked a bit of trash before Page disagreed about RVD being everyone’s hero — because Page would never do one of RVD’s signature moves.

RVD offered to face Page right now. Page told him they’ll face each other next week. RVD responded with a Van Daminator instead. RVD’s promo was a bit egotistical, but the reception of the fans was huge.

– Backstage, Josh Alexander berated Page for picking up matches with RVD instead of focusing on the Tag Team titles. Moose, dressed like Taichi, met up with them and told Alexander that he’ll team with him against LAX.

– We got a video package about the Tessa Blanchard vs. Gail Kim match from Rebellion. Kim said some words about her thoughts on the match and the moment of coming back to face Blanchard. She said that retiring like a champion left her with a sense of incompleteness, and putting over someone like Blanchard had given her the closure she needed.

– We then saw a video from Rebellion with Tully Blanchard congratulating Tessa backstage and talking about seeing her blossom into a great wrestler.

Michael Elgin defeated Johnny Impact (w/ Johnny Bravo) and Pentagon Jr. in a triple threat number one contender’s match

Johnny Impact came out with the X he won at United We Stand, reminding us that if he loses tonight, he still has a plan B in his pocket.

They started by trading quick roll-up attempts but went to a stalemate. Elgin and Johnny found themselves outside, with Pentagon taking them out with a baseball slide. He chopped and kicked Elgin, then went back to the ring to work on Johnny.

Johnny dodged Pentagon, but when Johnny went for a springboard, Elgin cut him off and hit an apron bomb. Elgin hit a German suplex and a clothesline on Pentagon. He went for a superplex, but Pentagon slipped out and hit a foot stomp onto a tree-of-woe position.

Pentagon went for a top rope move, but Elgin cut him off with a kick and once again went for a superplex, but instead Pentagon and Elgin traded chops, giving Johnny time to return and hit a German on Elgin as he superplexed Pentagon. The crowd popped for this spot.

All three men started exchanging strikes in the ring. Pentagon hit a springboard crossbody and a superkick on Johnny, then one on Elgin, who came back with a clothesline on both Pentagon and Johnny, followed by suplexing Johnny into Pentagon. Elgin hit a huge clothesline on Johnny, but Pentagon broke up the pin.

Pentagon and Elgin exchanged strikes and once again found themselves on the top of the ropes. Johnny took out Pentagon and hit a spinning Razor’s Edge on Elgin for a two count. Johnny went for the Countdown to Impact, but Elgin rolled out and hit an enzuigiri and a superkick.

Elgin went for the Elgin Bomb, but Pentagon returned with a couple of slingblades on both and a Pentagon Driver on Elgin for a two count. Pentagon hit a powerbomb backbreaker on Johnny for another two count.

They all fought on the apron, with Pentagon taking out Elgin with a couple of superkicks. Pentagon went for a Spanish Fly on Johnny, but he got cut off. Johnny went for a rana to the floor, but he botched it and they fell to the floor instead. Johnny made up for it by using a chair on Pentagon.

Back in the ring, Johnny hit a running knee on Elgin and set up Starship Pain, but Elgin dodged, hit a huge lariat, and then the turnbuckle bomb and Elgin Bomb combo for the pin.

Really great match for the time they got, though it didn’t seem like the crowd wanted to boo or cheer.

Final thoughts —

A really packed fallout episode for Impact Wrestling. It was a storyline heavy show — for the most part setting up some of the programs that will take us through the first part of episodes that will build towards Slammiversary in July. Aside from the Rosemary vs. Hogan match, the wrestling was really good.

**********

Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams, Jake Crist, Aiden Prince, Eddie Edwards, and Cousin Jake in a 6-Pack Scramble

Great actioned packed opener, all men had a small chance to shine. Cousin Jake was towering over everyone. Match started with all men outside brawling, Eddie and Petey being the firsts to dive to the outside. Prince was looking to be the third, bu got caught by a spinning kick by Ace. Jake Crist then hit a flying cutter on Ace from the apron into everyone else down in the floor.

Back in the ring, Petey started looking to hit the Destroyer, but instead locked in the Sharpshooter on Eddie. Cousin Jake cut him off hitting a big scoop slam. Jake Crist took him off, sent him outside and went for a dive, but Ace cut him off. Ace took out Petey and Prince, went to take out Jake Crist, but got dropped by a cutter. Prince hit a 450 on Jake Crist for a two count that Ace broke, they traded a couple of kick counters until Eddie came in and hit a Tiger Driver on Ace for a two count.

Eddie went for the Boston Knee Party, but Cousin Jake caught him with a Sidewalk Slam. Petey came in and hit the Destroyer on Cousin Jake, but as he went for the pin, Ace Austin jumped in and rolled Petey Williams for the surprise win.

Josh Matthews and Don Callis introduced Impact+, which seems to be the evolution of the GWN network with live streaming, independent promotions, and the Impact library.

Sami Callihan cut a promo on Rich Swann. He told Swann that tonight he is getting all Swann deserves for betraying the family and that he got oVe rules for tonight’s match.

Scarlett Bordeaux (w/Fallah Bahh) defeated Rohit Raju (w/Gama Singh & Raj Singh)

This match is replacing Scarlett’s live Smoke Show after they had an interaction on Twitter that escalated to this match.

This was a far different match from their Impact match, this time, Rohit Raju didn’t avoid wrestling a woman, this time he went straight to take her out. He jumped her, but Scarlett was ready for him and tossed him to the outside with a rana, Scarlett hit a Baseball Slide, but Rohit dodged and she instead took out Raj. Rohit used the distraction to slam Scarlett into the apron.

Back in the ring, Rohit worked over Scarlett’s back, whipping her to the corners, stepping on her hands, and stomping her. He hit a Snap Suplex for a two count that Rohit himself broke as he wasn’t done torturing her. All the meanwhile, Scarlett was fiercely trying to start a comeback, getting a couple of strikes in on Rohit, but she kept getting cut off until she finally manage to get some space and hit a Hurricanara, transitioned into a Crossface for a close submission.

Scarlett went for a German, but couldn’t pick up Rohit, but after the second try, she manages to use momentum to suplex Rohit to the outside, where she hit a top rope Plancha, taking out both Desi Hit Squad wrestlers. She went for a second one to take out Rohit, but Gama distracted the referee, allowing Raj to take out Scarlett. Rohit went to hit the Stinkface on Scarlett, but the referee was still distracted with Bahh and Gama, giving Scarlett the opening to low blow Rohit, hit him with the Dudebuster and pin him 1-2-3.

Moose & The North (Ethan Page & Jason Alexander) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, & Trey Miguel)

Moose and Trey started the match, with the latter working a kick combo and giving Dezmond and Wentz the blind tags. They continue working with quick blind tags, hitting a couple of Senton Atomicos on Moose, but Moose kicks up and blindsides them, giving the North the chance to manhandle Dezmond for a two count. North hit an assisted Falcon Arrow for another two count.

Moose and The North kept control over the ring, working on Xavier with a series of great power moves, complete dominance. Moose hit a beautiful Okada Moonsault on the corner, before tossing him to the other side of the ring. Dezmond eventually, caught Moose with a desperation Tornado DDT, but The North caught him off. Dezmond took out Alexander, only to get taken out by Page again. The match spilled out of the ring, allowing the Rascalz to work as a team and take out each man one by one, at one point hitting their finishing move from the ramp into the floor on Page. Outside the ring we saw Moose catch Trey’s Tope con Giro, and slam him into the guardrail, only to get taken out by a flying Xavier from the ramp.

Back in the ring, Alexander caught both Xavier and Trey for a slam, but they escaped. Wentz took out Moose. Trey hit the X69 on Alexander, followed by a Meteora, and a dive from his partners, but Page was there to powerslam Trey into the pin attempt. Page got rid of Wentz and Trey, leaving Dezmond oven for a combo by the heels, ending with the North hitting their finisher and a No Jackhammer Needed by Moose for the win. Great match, some spots looked mispositioned, but overall great. The tag team work in this match was top notch and by the match came to a close, the fans were completely into the match.

Melissa Santos interviewed Johnny Impact  & Taya Valkyrie. Johnny Bravo was there too. They talked trash to Melissa. Johnny cut a promo on Cage saying that he doesn’t know what being a champion is like and that he is not worried about Lance Storm. He hinted having a secret up his sleeve.

Taya cut a promo on Jordynne Grace, saying that Grace’s streak ends tonight.

Impact Knockout’s Champion Taya Valkrye defeated Jordynne Grace to retain the Championship

Jordynne attacked Taya at the sound of the bell and quickly took her down. They went outside and hit an Electric Chair onto the apron, followed by a Apron Bomb. Back in the ring, Grace got a two count out of her initial flurry. Taya tried to comeback, but Jordynne hit a top rope senton for a second two count.

Taya started to escape Jordynne and use dirty tactics to get some control of the match. She rammed Jordynne arm into the ring post to start working on the limb. Taya would go and stretch Grace’s arm against the ropes, or chasing an armbreaker. Taya hit an Hanging DDT for a two count. Taya kept manipulating the joints until Jordynne overpowered herself out of the lock and hit a desperation clothesline to take out Taya, unfortunately using her hurt arm. Grace finally starter a comeback using Scoop Slams and a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Taya went to use of of Johnny’s offense, but she wasn’t as fast, giving Grace the opening to set her up for the Muscle Buster for a 2.99 second near fall. Both women started trading roll ups until Taya just started hitting some knee shots. Jordynne went for the Grace Driver, but Taya got off and hit Road To Valhalla to retain the championship and give Jordynne her first one-on-one defeat. This was a lot better than I expected going in. Jordynne’s selling was great, and the final near falls had me excited.

Melissa Santos interviewd Gail Kim. Santos asked about how she decided to return to the ring after retiring. Gail answered that she doesn’t miss wrestling, but she needs to teach Tessa a lesson in respect.

X-Division Champion Rich Swann defeated Sami Callihan in an oVe Rules Match to retain his championship

Callihan came out with Madman Fulton, but sent him to the back for the match. Swann came out all serious, no dancing, no smiling, completely focused on Callihan.

Story of the match was that Swann brought out the violent side of himself for this match, going down to Callihan’s level. They talked trash to each other as they started pushing each other and went straight up to trading superkicks and strikes. They did a couple of reversals and counters, sending Callihan to the outside, but Swann swerved Callihan with the dive and revealed he had a stapler, chasing Sami around the ring, stapling him. Swann then tossed a couple of weapons into the ring.

Back in the ring, Callihan took the stapler and used it on Swann when the champ went for a Sunset Flip. Callihan used the momentum to start working on Swann’s head with a couple of running boots. Swann would return with a superkick and a dive, only to be received by a metal plate to the head as he flew through the ropes. Callihan hit the Cactus Special on the apron.

Callihan brought one of the guardrails to set up a metal bed next to the ramp, and continued beating up Swann around the ring. Sami went for a Razor’s Edge onto that guardrail, but Swann escaped and took out Sami with a chair. Callihan hit an Exploder Suplex onto an open chair, looked incredibly painful. Callihan went for a powerbomb, but Swann got him with a metal plate, set up a trash can on Sami’s head, and connected with a kick combo before hitting a Twisting Suplex onto the trash can for a two count.

Callihan escaped to the ramp, but Swann chased him, hitting him with safety signs. They fought up the stage where Swann used the setup for his offense, ending with a cutter on the ramp. Swamm chased the Phoenix Splash, but Callihan caught him coming down. They traded strikes and kicks, before Sami grabbed Swann by the groid and hit the Cactus Special on to the set up guardrail, but he only got a two count out of it.

Back in the ring, Sami Callihan brought out a Lego playing set that he brought and dropped them as tacks, and we know they hurt more than tacks. Sami went to piledrive Swann into them, but Swann reversed with a Jumping Frankensteiner for a two count. Callihan hit Swann with powder and hit the Cactus Special from the second rope, and he still couldn’t put down Swann for the pin.

Finally, Swann brought out a barbed wired baseball bat. This time i was Swann who went for the groin, getting control of the bat and hitting Callihan with it on the head. Swann used the bat for a Crossface, forcing Callihan to tap out. Great match, violent, and even with the weapons used, they kept it different to the ones we usually see on a Full Metal Mayhem coming later tonight.

We got the commercial for Impact’s return to New York City.

Melissa Santos interviewed Tessa Blanchard, who said that she knows about respect and that she has earned it, her family has earned respect, and while she used to look up to Gail Kim, it was respect that she has lost for her. It will be Tessa teaching Kim a lesson tonight. Tully Blanchard walked up and congratulated Tessa for her match tonight and cut a promo hyping her up. Well now i’m completely behind Tessa after Tully’s words.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Gail Kim

Robert Irvine and Tully Blanchard are both ringside. This match was a sprint, which helped to tell the story that Tessa is on her prime and the floating question whether Gail Kim has ring rust. They went back and forward all match, but there was a slight dominance to Tessa’s offense, while not taking anything away from Gail who looked great and had some great offense.

Tessa hit the first punch, but Gail came back and went for a quick paced flurry of offense striking and stomping Tessa. Gail hit a springboard leg drop for a one count. Tessa came back with a rana and caught Gail Kim in the corner, tossing her outside. Tessa dived on Kim, but she got distracted with the crowd, giving Gail time to recover.

Back in the ring, they went back and forward, Gail going after the legs, and Tessa the head, at one point hitting a big Magnum on the corner. Tessa went for a Saito Suplex, but Kim blocked and got a two count after a powerslam. Gail Kim dodged Tessa’s running tackle and locked in a headscissors that Tessa reversed into a backbreaker and a Saito for a two count.

Tessa kept working over Gail’s head, mocking Robert Irvine when possible. They fought up the turnbuckle that ended with both women spilling down to the floor. Gail Kim locked in the Figure Four on the ring post to finally take out Tessa’s knee. Back in the ring, they traded strikes ending with a crossbody from Gail for a near fall.

Gail started chasing Eat Defeat, but Tessa countered as they started brawling in the ramp. Tessa hit a huge Bitter End from the ramp to the floor. Gail made the count. Tessa went for the Buzzsaw DDT, but Gail espaced and hit Eat Defeat for a two count. Gail went to the top rope, but Tessa stopped her, where Tessa hit a Military Slam from the rope and hit Magnum for a huge near fall, but Tessa transitioned into an modified Anaconda Vice for the submission win. Dominant win for Tessa, she is no doubt the top woman in the promotion.

After the match, Tessa and Tully embraced. Tessa returned to the ring and with tears in her eyes, offered Gail Kim her hand, only to have Kim hug her and put her over. Great heartfelt ending.

Tessa left the ring for Gail, who got “Thank You Gail” chants. This was a far better farewell match for Gail Kim.

Brian Cage cut a promo backstage telling Johnny that he knows he is the deserving champion, that their friendship is over, and that there is no escape for him and tonight, the Age of Cage begins. Seems like Full Metal Mayhem is closing the show tonight.

“The Machine” Brian Cage defeated Impact World Champion Johnny Impact (w/Taya Valkyrie & Johnny Bravo) to become the NEW Impact World Champion. Special Guest Referee Lance Storm

Cage didn’t wait to talk tash and went straight for Johnny, with a shoulder tackle. Cage hit a German and an F-5 for an early near fall. Cage hit a version of the Rainmaker and a Facebuster for a second two count. Cage went for a Buckle Bomb and a Deadlift Suplex for yet another two count. Cage went for a second Deadlift Suplex, but Johnny countered into a German from the top rope.

Johnny went to get some offense, but Cage kept control until Cge distracted himself with Storm and got his eyes poked by Johnny, who finally had the opening for a combo that ended with a Standing SSP, which Cage kicked out at one, rolled over, and hit a Standing Moonsault for a two count.

Johnny tried to escape to the ramp, but Cage followed and went for a powerbomb, but Johnny instead hit a Spanish Fly from the ramp into the floor! Johnny was the first up and broke the count and went to knee Cage’s back. Johnny wanted the countout, but Lance wouldn’t give it to him and checked on Cage, who was busted open.

Back in the ring, Johnny went to choke out Cage. Johnny used his speed advantage to work over Cage with strikes and a springboard spear. Outside the ring, Taya and Bravo started setting up a table. Johnny tried to send Cage into the table, hitting a Spinning Neckbreaker for a two count. They went outside and Cage caught Johnny and powerbombed him into the table.

Johnny Bravo tried to distract Cage, who focused on him, while on the other side, Johnny hit Cage with the belt. Taya pulled Lance outside, giving Johnny the opening to take out Lance Storm as Johnny Bravo revealed his own ref t-shirt. Cage powerbombed Taya after Johnny threw her under the bus, but it was enough for Johnny to take out Cage with the belt for a two count (counted by Bravo). Lance Storm returned and took out Bravo and was going for the DQ, but Cage stopped him, hit a superkick and the Drill Claw to capture the championship.

Good, but not great match, I don’t know if someone was hurt or if there was an audible, but there was a lot of visible communication between Cage and Johnny.

Suddenly, Michael Elgin came out! He and Cage got face to face as Elgin made her intentions known that he wants a shot for the title. Elgin hit a Backfist, knocking out Cage. Elgin Bomb and visible 3-count before posing the with the championship over Cage’s body.

We got the commercial for Impact’s Slammiversary from Dallas, Texas on July 7th. G1 Climax weekend just got better!

Backstage, Konnan hyped Santana and Ortiz, who was just slamming Tequila shots one after the other.

LAX (Santana & Ortix) w/Konnan defeated Impact Tag Team Champions Lucha Bros! (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) in Full Metal Mayhem to become the NEW Impact Tag Team Champions

LAX jumped Lucha Bros during their entrance with stereo dives. Ortiz beat up Fenix on one side of the ring, while Santana attacked Pentagon on the other. LAX distracted themselves setting up a table, giving the Lucha Bros the opening to hit a double top con giro on to LAX and through tables.

Back in the ring, Lucha Bros worked on Ortiz with a series of kicks, a Slingblade, and a team move for a two count. Next in line was Santana who took a flurry of kicks and knees from all sides. Lucha Bros started setting up tables, giving LAX time to recover and hit Pentagon with a cutter, codebreaker, and Double Flapjack combo for a two count when Fenix flew to break up the pin. Fenix made a stand against both men, but would eventually get taken out with kicks and a big Cannonball on the corner. LAX dropped Fenix with a cutter and double footstomp combo on to a bed of chairs for a two count.

LAX brought out a ladder before they all started trading strikes in the ring and setting up the sit down Strong Style challenge. Konnan gave LAX some forks, but Lucha Bros blocked them. They traded chair shots before everyone collapsed.

LAX set up a bed of chairs and went to hit a superplex on Fenix, but Pentagon stopped him and instead hit the Spiked Fear Factor into the bed of chairs, but Santana managed to kick out. Lucha Bros went for another Spike Fear Factor, but LAX countered. Santana hit a F-5 into a chair. Ortiz set up Pentagon on to a table on the ramp, while Santana set up the ladder at the ropes. Fenix instead walked the ropes, caught Ortiz into a Spanish Fly, and managed to not kill himself when he landed head first.

Back in the ring, Pentagon hit a Penta Driver into a chair for a near fall. Pentagon set up another set of tables next to the ladder, and to top it off, thumbtacks on the table. He gave Santana enough time to recover and counter. Both men climbed to the top of the ladder where they exchanged strikes, but Ortiz came out and powerbombed Pentagon on the tables after Santana had stabbed Pentagon with a fork. Ortiz pinned Pentagon to recapture the championships.

This match had some ups and downs, a lot of spots seem way choreographed, and some took too much time to set up given the props involved. When the match was straight up wrestling, the match was fantastic.

After the match, Konnan and LAX made peace with the Lucha Bros as they all embraced in the middle of the ring. The entire Impact locker room came out to celebrate with both teams. Former Knockout’s champion Taylor Wilde made a special cameo around the group.

Final Thoughts —

Impact Wrestling had a lot of eyes on them tonight and they delivered with a solid, worth watching show. Arguably, one of the better shows they’ve had so far since their new management team came in.

Impact Wrestling results: Tag Team title match, Lance Storm appears

Impact Wrestling returned from the St. Clair College Sportsplex for tonight’s episode. The Twitch broadcast was hosted by Melissa Santos, who was later joined by Don Callis.

The opening video was a full recap of the Johnny Impact vs. Brian Cage saga, making special notice of all the double crosses and games that Johnny played the last few months and the involvement of referee Johnny Bravo along the road.

Scarlett Bordeaux & Fallah Bahh defeated The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju & Raj Singh) w/ Gama Singh

Bahh started the match against Raju and then Singh, with Bahh constantly getting the upper hand thanks to his size. He kept playing to the crowd, who were chanting Bordeaux’s entrance song.

Bordeaux tagged in, but neither Singh nor Raju wanted to wrestle her, so she tagged out. Both Desi Hit Squad members tried to jump Bahh, but he got them before they could do anything. Raju tripped Bahh, giving Singh a slight advantage. Singh got a one count with a mafia kick.

Bahh made a comeback and tagged in Bordeaux. She went for a suicide dive, but Raju stopped her. Bordeaux started chopping Raju, provoking him. She hit a rana, tossing him to the outside. Bordeaux held the ropes for Bahh, who hit a suicide dive. Bordeaux hit a top rope crossbody to the floor on both Singh and Raju.

Back in the ring, Bahh and Bordeaux went for running attacks in the corner. Bordeaux gave Singh a stinkface. Raju wanted one himself, except he got it from Bahh. Singh took out Bahh and blocked a German suplex from Bordeaux, who instead hit a jawbreaker.

Bahh hit a belly-to-belly on Singh, setting him up for a Banzai Drop with Bordeaux on his back for the win. Fun match — the fans live were loving it.

The Lucha Bros cut a promo on Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards and their Tag Team title match tonight. They said that no one will take their titles.

We got a training video for The Deaners.

Backstage, Drake & Edwards met and hyped each other up about winning the Tag Team titles tonight.

Tommy Dreamer cut a promo on Madman Fulton. He said that he’d been researching Fulton’s past and brought up the similarities between them. He managed to get the word “sanity” in. Good promo — felt like an old ECW backstage promo.

Dezmond Xavier (w/ The Rascalz) defeated Moose

Xavier went for an early headlock, but Moose simply carried him around. Xavier went for waist control, and Moose countered him with a single hip attack. Xavier went for strikes, and he finally got Moose mad.

Moose caught Xavier’s hand and tossed him around. Moose locked in a bear hug, but Xavier escaped by ringing Moose’s ears. Moose hit a huge snake eyes on Xavier, then followed up by chopping and choking Xavier around the ring, clearly going after the neck.

Moose went for the Go to Hell, but Xavier countered into a rana. Moose replied with a big lariat for a cocky two count. Moose went after Xavier’s back, whipping him corner to corner, standing on his back, and hitting a couple of shoulder thrusts.

Moose missed one last shoulder tackle and ended up outside the ring. Xavier went for a tope con giro, but Moose caught him in mid-air in a powerbomb position and swung him into the steel steps.

Moose was setting up the spear, but Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel distracted him, giving Xavier the opening to roll up Moose and steal the win. This was almost like a reverse squash — Moose looked great and Xavier was great as the underdog.

Somewhere in the Undead Realm, Kiera Hogan was lurking around and was met by Rosemary, who told her to go away. Hogan said that this also involves her. Rosemary said that both Allie and Hogan keep getting in trouble because they don’t know how to listen.

Hogan got in Rosemary’s face, telling her that she will get involved whether she likes it or not, and so Rosemary beat her up.

Backstage, Moose cut a promo saying production needs to edit the loss out. Moose said that if The Rascalz want to gang up on him, he can play that game too.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was the LAX vs. OGz 5150 Street Fight from 2018’s Slammiversary.

Tessa Blanchard cut a promo on Gail Kim. She said that Kim is trying to stop her from becoming the greatest Knockout because that is all Kim has left. Blanchard talked trash, bringing up Kim’s husband Robert Irvine. Suddenly, it turned out that Blanchard was outside one of Irvine’s restaurants.

Blanchard went into the restaurant and caused some chaos, bullying the patrons and employees. She finally found the chef, who told her that Irvine was not there today. Blanchard berated the poor chef, who was somewhat corpsing.

Back from commercial, Kim was getting the message about the restaurant. Melissa Santos interviewed her about pressing charges, but Kim said that she will handle things in the ring and teach Blanchard a lesson.

Madman Fulton (w/ Sami Callihan) defeated Tommy Dreamer

Callihan hyped up Fulton before the match by slapping him. Once the match started, Fulton easily dominated Dreamer by tossing him around and choking him against the ropes. Dreamer tried to make a comeback, but Fulton cut him off and stomped him down. Callihan went to get involved, and so the referee sent him to the back.

Back in the ring, Fulton kept torturing Dreamer with a bear hug. Dreamer bit Fulton’s nose to get away and went for the 10 strikes in the corner. Fulton grabbed him for a powerbomb, but they spilled to the outside. They brawled for a bit with Dreamer getting the upper hand and dodging Fulton’s attacks, but it would only wake Fulton up.

Back in the ring again, Fulton went for the bear hug. He hit a suplex and a splash for a one count, then put Dreamer back in the bear hug. Fulton hit a sidewalk slam for a two count. He went for a headbutt. Dreamer dodged, but it wasn’t enough to stop Fulton, who just got up again.

Dreamer tried to strike down Fulton with a couple of elbows, but Fulton was still up. Dreamer hit a DDT and went for a kendo stick, but Fulton caught him with an End of Days for the win. Good showing for Fulton, even if he gave a lot to Dreamer.

After the match, Fulton kept torturing Dreamer until Willie Mack came out with a steel chair and brawled with Fulton. The rest of oVe came out to attack Mack until Rich Swann tried to make the save. Callihan choked out Swann and hit the Cactus Special. Callihan Pillmanized Dreamer’s arm while they made Swann watch. oVe has become a really strong stable.

We got another Deaner’s vignette — this time they were on their way to Impact on a tractor. They debut next week.

Backstage, a doctor was telling Swann and Mack that Dreamer has an injured arm and that he’ll need some time to recover. Swann walked away, but now Killer Kross approached Mack. Kross told Mack that every time he goes to help Swann, Mack is the one that ends up banged up. Mack blew Kross off and challenged him to a match next week.

Madison Rayne defeated Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie in a non-title match

Before the match started, Valkyrie cut a promo on Canada. She talked about last week’s match against Jordynne Grace & Brian Cage, and since she is defending her title at Rebellion, she is making the executive decision to not wrestle tonight. Before she could leave, Rayne attacked her to force the match to start.

Rayne hit a rana, tossing Valkyrie outside, which she used to try and run away — except Grace came out and tossed Valkyrie back in the ring. Rayne used the distraction to roll up Valkyrie for the win. If this means that Valkyrie defends against both Grace and Rayne at Rebellion, it will make Grace look bad for helping someone else get in her match.

We got a special interview by Rolando Menendez with Johnny Impact. Referee Johnny Bravo was behind them cleaning Johnny’s pool. Johnny defended Bravo’s new job, talked trash about Cage, and said that at Rebellion, Cage has no idea how deep Johnny Impact can get in order to retain his championship.

This hinted that Johnny has another secret weapon ready to betray Cage at the Rebellion pay-per-view. Great promo by Johnny.

Cage confronted Don Callis about Bravo. Callis told Cage that they have a plan, that they’ll get a special guest referee, and that Scott D’Amore had the answer. Callis immediately called D’Amore to tell him that Cage was going after him for answers.

We cut to D’Amore, who was being told by Callis to run away. They revealed that they don’t actually have a plan, but Cage was already behind them. Cage threatened D’Amore, but Lance Storm suddenly stepped up and told Cage to have some integrity and rethink his actions.

Storm and Cage got in each other’s faces, with Storm telling Cage he won’t go down that easily. D’Amore improvised and announced that Storm will be the special guest referee for Impact and Cage’s World title match at Rebellion.

Impact Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards to retain their titles

Fenix and Drake started the match, with the latter getting the strength advantage. Fenix and Pentagon went for an early spike Fear Factor, but Edwards came in to stop them. He took out Pentagon, giving Drake the opening to hit a superplex on Fenix for a two count. Edwards and Drake started working on Fenix, who tried to make a comeback — only to get caught by Drake for an assisted DVD.

Pentagon jumped in, but Drake and Edwards also took him out. The Lucha Bros finally recovered and got rid of Edwards to the outside. Fenix dove onto Edwards while Pentagon got a two count on Drake.

The Lucha Bros went for the spike Fear Factor, but LAX came out to attack them. Drake used the distraction to roll up Pentagon for a two count. Edwards tossed Drake the kendo stick, which Pentagon dodged, hit the spike Fear Factor, and pinned Drake to retain the titles. This was way too short for the potential it had with all four men in the ring.

After the match, Lucha Bros and LAX brawled to the back. In the ring, Edwards tried to comfort Drake. It seemed like Drake was turning against Edwards as fans started chanting “Eli is the weak link” — but they hugged it out and Edwards’ song was played.

Oh, there you go. As they started to walk to the back, Drake finally turned on Edwards and attacked him with the kendo stick to close the show. It was a great team that unfortunately was short-lived.

Final thoughts —

Overall, this was a good show. All the main feuds got touched upon tonight as we head into Impact’s Rebellion PPV a week from Sunday. Inside the ring, most of the matches felt more like segments or angles, but they were nonetheless fun to watch.

Impact Wrestling results: Johnny & Taya vs. Cage & Grace

Impact Wrestling’s road to Rebellion continued from St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The opening video recapped last week’s show and gave us the build to tonight’s main event of Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie vs. Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace.

This week’s Twitch stream was hosted by Don Callis. Melissa Santos was out of commission due to a knee injury.

Moose defeated Zachary Wentz (w/ The Rascalz)

Out of the norm, The Rascalz decided to stay at ringside for Wentz’s match. Moose mocked Wentz before the match and bullied him, provoking Wentz to go for the first strike. Wentz went for wrist control, but Moose easily overpowered him and chopped him.

Wentz took advantage of Moose playing to the crowd to kick him, send him outside, and hit a moonsault to the outside that Moose caught. Moose got sent to the ring post instead.

Wentz hit a couple of running strikes, but Moose again powered himself back and hit a couple of impressive dropkicks. Moose worked over Wentz for the next few minutes, using mostly strikes and tossing him around the ring. But once again, Moose got cocky and started playing more to the crowd and getting distracted with the referee. Wentz found himself outside, where Moose pursued and went for an apron bomb, but instead swept the leg when Wentz tried to escape.

Moose got cocky again, and this time Wentz had the opening to dive on Moose and finally rock him. Wentz hit a couple of running dropkicks, a striking combo, and a corkscrew plancha, but he only got a one count. He hit a knee to finally get Moose off his feet. Wentz went for a plancha, but Moose caught him and tossed him outside onto his partners.

Back in the ring, Wentz got a couple more kicks in, but when he went for the kill, Moose caught him, hit the No Jackhammer Needed, and pinned him for the 1-2-3. Pretty good opener.

Rob Van Dam’s official return was announced for the April 29 Impact tapings. He cut a promo about coming back.

Melissa Santos interviewed Madison Rayne about losing to Jordynne Grace and being back in Impact. Rayne said that she unfortunately lost, but she is back to win the Knockouts Championship and take on the competition. Tessa Blanchard interrupted her, talking trash about Rayne coming back to relive her glories and piggy backing on her. Blanchard said Rayne is just like Gail Kim.

Rayne brought up that she has a winning record against Blanchard and challenged her to a match.

Su Yung vs. Rosemary ended in a no contest

Rosemary jumped Yung and started taking out each of the Undead Bridesmaids one by one. Rosemary kicked Yung to the outside, but the Bridesmaids saved her, so instead, Rosemary locked Yung in the Upside Down. Rosemary went for a spear in the corner, but Yung dodged and worked on Rosemary’s weak knee with several strikes and a single-leg Boston Crab.

Yung went for a dragon leg whip to take down Rosemary, then used the opening to go for her dirty glove.

Rosemary battled Yung, hitting a reverse DDT to get her away. They traded strikes and clotheslines. Rosemary hit a running knee for a two count. Yung came back with a palm strike, but Rosemary recovered and hit a German suplex.

All the Bridesmaids got on the apron, and once again Rosemary went for them. Kiera Hogan came to Rosemary’s aid, but they ended up arguing outside the ring because Rosemary didn’t want Hogan’s help. All the Bridesmaids jumped them and the match ended in a no contest.

After the match, the Bridesmaids tossed Rosemary back in the ring, where Yung locked in the Mandible Claw. Yung hit the Panic Switch on both Rosemary and Hogan to lay them out.

We got a recap and backstage look of the United We Stand show in New Jersey and some comments from talent involved with the show.

Ace Austin cut a promo about losing the six-way match from last week. He said that he was about to win, and blamed Aiden Prince for his loss. He challenged Prince to a match.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was Rob Van Dam vs. Joey Ryan for the X-Division Championship from TNA Turning Point 2012.

Backstage, Killer Kross met with Willie Mack. Kross asked Mack if he liked jazz music. Kross got in Mack’s head by saying that Rich Swann was playing him for a fool. This is an interesting direction, with Kross trying to intervene in Swann’s affairs.

We got a promo by The Deaners saying they’re headed to Impact and they’re getting focused. Good promo and promising gimmick.

The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) defeated El Reverso & Sheldon Jean

Commentary brought up Page and Alexander’s history together, but not as Monster Mafia. This match was a showcase for Alexander and the tag team work of The North.

El Reverso had a hope spot on Alexander, but he stopped him with a Plunge before hitting a twisting facebuster double team. Page tagged in and hit a backbreaker on Reverso. Alexander came back in, locked in an ankle lock, and turned it into a powerbomb backbreaker.

Reverso finally tagged in Jean. He had a good hot tag and hope spot, getting a two count on Page with a flying forearm. Reverso tried to make a stand against both men, but The North picked up the win over Reverso with a double-team maneuver. Great debut for Alexander.

Backstage, Melissa Santos told Gail Kim about Blanchard’s comments. Kim said she would go out to the ring for Blanchard vs. Rayne.

Back from commercial, The North cut a promo about them taking over the tag team division. Good promo by both men.

Kim came down to the ring and joined commentary for the next match.

Madison Rayne defeated Tessa Blanchard

Blanchard, right from the start, focused more on Kim outside the ring than Rayne, who took advantage of the distraction on several occasions. Blanchard got the upper hand on Rayne with a set of running forearms and dropkicks.

Rayne came back with a couple of roll-ups, but Blanchard easily kicked out. Blanchard hit a brainbuster and went to choke out Rayne.

Blanchard kept messing with Kim, striking Rayne right in front of the commentary table. Blanchard hit a corner Magnum, and once again talked trash to Kim instead of pinning Rayne.

Back from commercial, Rayne and Blanchard exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring. Rayne hit an enzuigiri and a Northern Lights suplex for a one count. Blanchard hit a double underhook modification of the Bitter End for two.

Rayne hit a crucifix bomb for a two count. She went for a reverse DDT, but Blanchard blocked it and hit a slingshot suplex, rebounding Rayne twice on the ropes for a two count. Blanchard hit a superplex for two.

Blanchard went for a steel chair and attacked the referee, provoking Kim to take the chair away. It gave Rayne time to recover, and she blindsided Blanchard with a schoolboy to get the upset win.

On commentary, Kim kept putting Blanchard over with comments like Blanchard being able to achieve top level greatness at such a young age and Blanchard reminding Kim of herself. However, Kim said it was unfortunate that Blanchard had a terrible attitude.

Backstage, Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards asked the Lucha Bros for a Tag Team title shot since they beat LAX last week. Suddenly, LAX attacked the Lucha Bros while Drake dragged Edwards away.

We got another vignette for The Deaners. They’re going hard on these guys.

Melissa Santos interviewed Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie. They talked about tonight’s match against Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace. Johnny put over Cage as a wrestler, but then buried him for being one-of-a-kind dumb. Valkyrie provoked Santos by implying that Cage and Grace had an affair.

We got an oVe cam promo. They were in some back alley. Sami Callihan cut a promo about giving Swann everything and now Swann will have nothing for betraying oVe. At Rebellion, Callihan will take the X-Division Championship.

Blanchard cut a promo backstage on Kim. She said that she was only thinking of beating Kim at Rebellion, but now that Kim decided to interfere in her matches, it will be personal.

Fallah Bahh was backstage looking for Scarlett Bordeaux, who eventually showed up. Bahh thanked Bordeaux for the save last week. Bordeaux told Bahh that she’ll team with him next week against the Desi Hit Squad.

Impact World Champion Johnny Impact & Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie defeated Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace

This had WWE-style mixed tag match rules with the wrestlers having to pair up by gender, so Valkyrie started the match by trying to provoke Cage into a DQ — but Grace was right there to take her on.

Grace got the upper hand early with a series of shoulder tackles and clotheslines. She sent Valkyrie right into the corner and hit a running knee and a running elbow right before a Vader Bomb for a two count. Valkyrie finally got some space and went to Johnny for the tag, but Johnny actually got off the ring to avoid getting in the ring with Cage.

Grace tagged in Cage instead, forcing Johnny to become legal. They did a small sequence with Johnny escaping Cage’s attacks and getting cheap shots in — until Cage caught Johnny, curled with him, and tossed him like a rag doll.

Johnny hit a springboard corkscrew, but got too cocky to follow up. Cage came back with a clothesline and a backdrop that over rotated Johnny. Johnny tried to find a way to tag Valkyrie, but Cage blocked him until Johnny simply poked Cage’s eyes and got the tag.

Grace didn’t wait and rushed at Valkyrie in the corner, but Johnny was still there to aid his wife and give Valkyrie the opening for a shotgun dropkick. She stomped on Grace for a bit and went for an armbar submission and a curb stomp on the same arm.

Valkyrie hit a running hip attack and the double knees for a two count. Grace hit a desperation running powerbomb. Valkyrie tried to make the tag to Johnny, but instead was talked into stopping Grace — with Johnny again trying to avoid Cage. Valkyrie failed to stop Grace, so Johnny straight up went in to attack Grace, but it was too late as she tagged Cage back in.

Cage ran wild on Johnny with a combo neckbreaker and a huge release German suplex for a two count. Cage went for the F5, but Johnny reversed it into a swinging neckbreaker for two. Johnny went for Starship Pain, but Cage caught him. Cage and Johnny took each other out with a lariat and a kick respectively.

Grace and Valkyrie came in, with Grace hitting a German to throw Valkyrie to the outside. Grace followed with a tope suicida on Johnny, only to be taken out by Valkyrie. Cage then hit a tope con giro on Johnny, tossed him in the ring, and went for the Drill Claw. Suddenly, referee Johnny Bravo buckled Cage’s leg, giving Johnny the opening to hit a shining wizard and win via quick count. The referee got a lot of heat.

After the match, Cage got back up and went after Bravo, but Valkyrie low blowed him and the couple beat up Cage. Johnny Bravo hugged with Johnny and Valkyrie.

Don Callis and Josh Mathews said on commentary that they’ll review all of the recent Johnny Bravo matches since they now suspect Bravo is the only reason Johnny has been able to retain the championship all this time.

Final thoughts —

Good show. With two more weeks to go until the Rebellion pay-per-view, this episode was all about escalating feuds. The wrestling was good all around.

Impact Wrestling results: LAX vs. Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake

This week’s Impact took place at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada from the newest set of tapings. The Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos.

The opening video recapped the escalating war between LAX and the Lucha Bros, Scarlett Bordeaux defeating Disco Inferno, Gail Kim’s Rebellion announcement, the controversial finish to Killer Kross vs. Brian Cage, and the sad demise of Allie.

Petey Williams defeated Trey Miguel, Idris Abraham, Ace Austin, Jake Crist, and Aiden Prince in a six-man scramble

It had been a while since Abraham was last on Impact. Aiden Prince is a local wrestler from PCW.

The match started with wrestlers pairing up with each other and all of them trying to steal roll-ups on each other. Austin was the first to get taken out with four superkicks at once. Miguel hit a dive on half of the wrestlers in the match, only to get taken out by Austin next after doing some impressive looking headstands on the apron.

Everyone started pairing up one by one, getting a chance to show off before getting taken out. Austin and Abraham were quite impressive — the latter at one point took a plancha from Prince, who somewhat landed on top of his head.

Miguel hit the X19 before Williams locked the Sharpshooter on him. They did a Tower of Doom spot with Prince on top. Williams hit the Canadian Destroyer on Miguel for a two count when the pin was broken up by the rest.

Prince hit a dive, taking out everyone except Williams, who hit a Canadian Destroyer from the top rope on Jake Crist to win the match. Great opener — it got “This is awesome” chants at one point. Crist seemed hurt at the end.

– LAX cut a promo backstage. Ortiz felt that this feud with the Lucha Bros is getting out of hand, but Santana told him that getting here was all they wanted.

Konnan told them that this was all because they had big mouths and it escalated to him getting disrespected and now it was about getting respect. Konnan told them to take care of business against Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake tonight.

– Melissa Santos interviewed Taya Valkyrie. She asked if Jordynne Grace was getting another title shot since Grace won their match by countout last week. Valkyrie was interrupted by Madison Rayne, who said that she wasn’t lost in the Undead Realm, she was “somewhere worse.”

Rayne put her name on the list towards the Knockouts Championship — but Grace came up and said that Rayne couldn’t just cut in line. Valkyrie proposed that Rayne and Grace wrestle for the number one contender’s spot for Rebellion. Rayne was a total heel.

oVe (Sami Callihan & Madman Fulton) w/ Dave Crist defeated Rich Swann & Willie Mack

Swann ran to the ring during the entrance and went straight for Callihan. He stomped and chopped Callihan all over the ring. Willie Mack came in and continued the punishment with power moves — at one point hitting a springboard neckbreaker. Callihan eventually caught Mack with a clothesline when Mack distracted himself with Fulton.

Back from commercial, oVe was working over Mack. Fulton hit a delayed suplex on him. Callihan decided to get into a chop exchange with Mack, which gave him time to recover and hit the Samoan drop and moonsault combo, but Fulton attacked him before he could tag out. Mack would soon after hit a desperation Thesz press and tag Swann.

Swann came in hot, superkicking both Fulton and Callihan. Swann hit the Lethal Injection on Callihan, but he couldn’t land the Phoenix Splash when Callihan moved. He went to hit a pescado, but Fulton caught him, giving the opening for Mack to hit a tope con giro and take out all of oVe.

Back in the ring, Swann went for a Frankensteiner on Callihan, but Fulton held Callihan from behind, helping him block and drop Swann with a powerbomb. Mack saved Swann from the piledriver and went for a crossbody, but Fulton caught him in the middle of the air. Callihan hit the piledriver on Swann to finally pick up the win.

After the match, all of oVe stomped on Swann until Tommy Dreamer came out for the save with a chair. Dreamer faced off with Fulton, but Callihan pulled him away instead.

– Rolando Menendez interviewed Johnny Impact. He told Johnny that his actions were deceptive. Johnny threatened Menendez before saying that he enjoyed being champion and asked what’s the point of being smarter than everyone if you don’t rub it in everyone’s face. Killer Kross walked up, and Johnny told him that he is getting his title shot as promised.

– We got a video from last week’s Rascalz roundtable. Moose once again showed up and bullied them. Moose said that his girlfriend could bring friends and make it a party after next week, when he gets to kick Wentz’s butt. This was pretty funny.

– The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was Rosemary vs. Su Yung from May 2018 when Yung took out Rosemary with a Panic Switch from the ramp onto a table and then proceeded to lock her in the coffin.

– Rosemary was shown walking in a cemetery, remembering what happened last week in the Undead Realm. Kevin Sullivan actually revealed that he is the father of Rosemary.

Rosemary found Allie’s grave, where she blamed Kiera Hogan for her death because it was James Mitchell that caught her and distracted Rosemary from the battle. She promised to get revenge.

Jordynne Grace defeated Madison Rayne to become the Knockouts Championship number one contender

The match started with both fighting for wrist control and quick pins with a series of reversals. Grace quickly gained control with her strength advantage. Rayne went for a top rope crossbody, but she just crashed against Grace.

Rayne started using her speed to get as many roll-ups and kicks on Grace to finally get her off her feet, but Grace just got back up and hit a big Pounce for a two count. There was then a big senton for another two count as Grace started working over Rayne’s back. Grace hit a backbreaker and sidewalk slam for yet another two count. She continued this dominance for a couple more minutes.

Eventually, Grace went for the Vader Bomb, but Rayne moved away and finally got an opening to recover and get some offense in. Rayne went for another flying crossbody — this time dropping Grace for a two count.

Grace went for the O’Connor roll, but Rayne reversed it into a sleeper. As much as Grace broke it, Rayne wouldn’t let go. Grace got off and hit a torture rack into a bomb for a two count.

Rayne hit a crucifix pin for a near fall. Grace hit the Grace Driver and pinned Rayne to earn a title shot at the Rebellion pay-per-view. Good match, but the crowd was somewhat dead.

After the match, Valkyrie came out and jumped Grace from behind. Grace was making a comeback, but Johnny Impact came out to distract her, allowing Valkyrie to beat her up. Valkyrie hit a curb stomp and set her up for Johnny’s Countdown Splash, but Brian Cage came down for the save and ran the couple to the back.

– Backstage, Ethan Page and Josh Alexander were talking. They talked about being the best from the area and said that Monster Mafia can show they’re the best team — not just in the area, but the world. I’m glad we’re getting Monster Mafia.

Rohit Raju (w/ The Desi Hit Squad) defeated Fallah Bahh

Bahh actually lost some weight since the last set of tapings. Good for him.

Raj Singh distracted Bahh to start the match, giving Raju the opening to jump him, but Bahh was not phased thanks to his size advantage. This was the usual power vs. speed match, with Raju managing to get a lot of offense in as long as Bahh wouldn’t get a hold of him.

After a bit of offense by Raju, Bahh caught him with a Samoan drop and a subsequent crossbody to set him up for the Banzai Drop. Gama Singh distracted the referee, giving Raj the opening to take out Bahh. Raju picked up the win with a roll-up. The match was okay, nothing special, but seeing Bahh wrestle is always a treat.

After the match, Scarlett Bordeaux hit the ring. She distracted Desi Hit Squad, allowing Bahh to take them both out. Bordeaux hit a running hip attack on Raj before Bahh and her celebrated in the ring.

– We got a vignette of Cody and Jake Deaner getting Impact contracts. Looks more promising than the last time we saw Deaner on Impact.

– Josh Mathews ran down the card for Rebellion, announcing that Swann and Callihan will go at it for the X-Division Championship.

– We got a career retrospective video package for Gail Kim. They put her over and how her feud with Awesome Kong had turned the page for women’s wrestling in the United States. At the end, they recapped the current feud with Tessa Blanchard.

– Melissa Santos interviewed Blanchard. She asked about the Gail Kim video and what it felt like to face a legend at Rebellion. Blanchard responded by questioning the “legend” part of the question.

Blanchard said that Kim was a legend, but only in her era of bra and panties matches, not Blanchard’s era. Good promo by Blanchard.

Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards defeated LAX (Santana & Ortiz)

Josh Matthews actually brought up that LAX were just in New Jersey fighting Low Ki & Ricky Martinez, making it seem like this show was live.

Both teams talked trash to each other to start the match. Drake went to cheap shot Konnan, who blocked it and hit Drake. Referee Johnny Bravo kicked Konnan out to the back.

In the ring, Santana and Ortiz jumped Edwards and Drake to start the match. Both teams went back and forth with quick tags and some blind tags in between. There was a lot of double-team moves from both teams.

Santana got the closest to a hot tag, going wild on Edwards. He went for a frog splash, but Drake cut him off and hit a great superplex. Edwards got a two count with a powerbomb. Santana hit a rolling cutter on Edwards, followed by the double inverted suplex, but Drake pulled Ortiz to break up the pin.

LAX went for the Street Sweeper, but Lucha Bros came out to distract Santana. Santana dove on them, giving Drake the opening to hit Ortiz with the kendo stick, setting him up for Edwards’ Boston Knee Party for the win.

Lucha Bros took out LAX with a pair of superkicks after the match. They brought out a table, with Pentagon powerbombing Santana through it to close the show as they stood tall over LAX.

Final thoughts —

A really good show by Impact. The work inside the ring and the build toward Rebellion were both solid.

Impact Wrestling results: Against All Odds

Impact Wrestling closed out their set of tapings from Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada with Friday night’s Against All Odds special episode.

The episode had a special opening video narrating all the build up to tonight’s card. I found it really interesting that they made Killer Kross out to be the “Anti-Machine” and not Johnny Impact.

The Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos. Pat Buck, owner and operator of WrestlePro, was the post-show guest.

LAX and Konnan opened the show coming down to the ring. Konnan cut a promo saying they have a problem with Pentagon Jr. & Fenix, claiming that he told them all about the problems that come from wrestling for the titles. He called out the Lucha Bros for a fight.

Pentagon & Fenix immediately came out. The teams brawled inside the ring until security ran down to pull them apart. The fans chanted “Let them fight!” while all four wrestlers kept trying to reach one another.

The Lucha Bros and LAX started superkicking security. LAX hit a border toss with one of the security guards into the rest, but as they turned their backs, Pentagon & Fenix greeted them with chairs.

Lucha Bros brought out two tables and set them up in the corners. Pentagon kept talking trash to Konnan before LAX recovered and hit stereo DVDs through the tables. Santana & Ortiz grabbed the belts and posed over the fallen bodies of the Lucha Bros.

Backstage, Konnan, Santana, and Ortiz said that this is not even about the titles anymore — now they’re out there for respect. Konnan then made the challenge — Full Metal Mayhem for the Tag Team titles at Rebellion.

Scarlett Bordeaux defeated “Disco Inferno” Glenn Gilbertti

Before Bordeaux’s entrance, Gilbertti gave her one last chance to cancel the match. Bordeaux just told him to “shut up and wrestle — turkey boy.” The match was what it had to be in terms of competitiveness — I would have liked for Bordeaux to be more vicious on Gilbertti to show off more.

Bordeaux got a quick two count with a schoolboy and then proceeded to chop Gilbertti out of the ring. Back in the ring, Gilbertti grabbed Bordeaux by the hair and axed her down. He went for a fist drop and elbow, but Bordeaux dodged. Bordeaux hit an armbreaker and a top rope crossbody for a two count.

Bordeaux went for a clothesline, but Gilbertti blocked and took her down with one himself. He started to throw Bordeaux around the ring, then stomped each of her limbs over and over again — with a huge smile on his face.

Gilbertti went to hit her in the face, but Bordeaux made a comeback by punching back. Gilbertti whipped Bordeaux to the corner and went for a lariat, but Bordeaux dodged, hit a couple of lariats, and hit a running hip attack.

Bordeaux hit a stunner for a near fall. Gilbertti hit a side Russian leg sweep and went for the Village People’s Elbow, but he didn’t cover her, giving Bordeaux time to recover. Gilbertti went for the 10 punches in the corner, but Bordeaux hit a powerbomb pin instead and picked up the win.

Melissa Santos interviewed Taya Valkyrie and Johnny Impact. Valkyrie talked about scouting Jordynne Grace, and she said that Grace is strong, but just not “Wera Loca” strong. Johnny said that tonight he’s just going to enjoy how Killer Kross takes out Brian Cage.

Backstage, Gilbertti made his way to the back while Kiera Hogan and Alisha Edwards made fun of him and called him a loser.

Josh Mathews announced that Johnny Impact said he doesn’t want to team with Brian Cage as part of Team Impact at United We Stand and instead wants to be part of the Ultimate X match.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was RVD defeating AJ Styles for the World title from the April 19, 2010 episode of Impact.

We got an awesome vignette for “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander, with him being sold as Canadian Strong Style.

A trailer for the new Rob Van Dam documentary “Headstrong” aired. Looks interesting.

We also got another vignette for Madison Rayne’s return.

Santos interviewed Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard said that Gail Kim had no other choice than to give in to her demands. She said that Kim deserves everything that is coming to her and that legends come and go, but Diamonds are forever. She went straight to the ring to get her apology.

Out in the ring, Blanchard cut a promo saying that today was a great day. Today was the day that she gets what she deserves and that is payback from Gail Kim. Blanchard said today was the day she gets justice, then called out Gail Kim.

Kim came out. Blanchard talked trash to her for a bit and told her to apologize. Kim did so. Blanchard then moved on to the other demand — for Kim to resign from Impact Wrestling.

Kim said that earlier today, she had given Impact management her resignation. Blanchard then mocked Kim for being part of the bra and panties era of wrestling and said that if she had been part of Blanchard’s era, she wouldn’t even be good enough to lace her boots.

Kim told Blanchard that she resigned from Impact, but under the condition that she was coming out of retirement to kick Blanchard’s butt. They brawled and Kim ran off Blanchard to the back.

Matthews and Don Callis confirmed that Blanchard vs. Kim will take place at the Rebellion pay-per-view.

We got a video recapping the Rich Swann vs. Sami Callihan X-Division Championship match from last week and the debut of Madman Fulton. We saw a video with oVe forcing Fulton to watch violent television a la Clockwork Orange. Callihan said that they brought out the potential inside Fulton.

Jordynne Grace defeated Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie by countout

During Valkyrie’s entrance, Callis called her the “Queen Bee,” which may or may not be a hint to Valkyrie feuding with Madison Rayne once she is done with Grace.

The match started with a collar-and-elbow lock and a series of reversals and quick pin attempts. Early on, Valkyrie started using some dirty tactics like poking Grace’s eyes, but Grace still held control thanks to her strength advantage.

Valkyrie regained control with some misdirection, dropping Grace with a set of kicks and the running knees to the back for a two count. Grace came back with a German suplex, but Valkyrie escaped outside. Grace followed her, but unfortunately for the challenger, Valkyrie caught her and rammed her to the ring post.

Back in the ring, Valkyrie kicked and chopped Grace while she mocked her. Valkyrie hit a running hip attack and followed with a running double knee to the corner for another two count. Valkyrie kept that same level of dominance for a while, at one point hitting a huge spear for a two count.

Back from commercial, Grace finally hit a desperation suplex to get some space. She blocked a rushing Valkyrie with a kick and managed to hit her running knee and shoulder combo. Grace hit the running Vader Bomb for a two count and finally balanced the match out.

Grace set up the Muscle Buster. Valkyrie escaped it, so instead, Grace went for a superplex — which Valkyrie also escaped with a headbutt. Valkyrie went for a moonsault, but Grace moved away and went for the Grace Driver. Valkyrie once again went for Grace’s eyes and started faking a rib injury.

Johnny Impact came out to check on Valkyrie. As they walked to the back, the referee counted Valkyrie out. Grace won, but Valkyrie retained the championship due to the champion’s advantage.

Before Johnny and Valkyrie walked to the back, Brian Cage came out and chased after Johnny while Valkyrie backed up into Grace. Cage cornered Johnny and Valkyrie, but Killer Kross jumped Cage from behind, throwing him into the ring post.

Back from commercial, a new referee made his way to the ring to start the match.

Killer Kross defeated Brian Cage

The match started with Kross having the advantage, but Cage quickly regained his composure and started running wild over Kross with a series of clotheslines and shoulder blocks.

Kross kept working over the same shoulder and arm he attacked before the match. He stomped on Cage’s arm and hit an armbreaker. Kross hit an exploder for a two count and locked in an armbreaker at the kick out. Cage escaped, stomping Kross.

Cage went for the deadlift suplex, but Kross caught him and hit another armbreaker, this time against the ropes. Kross manipulated the hand with arm tosses in between. He transitioned into armbreakers at every move Cage tried to get away from. Kross has been following Zack Sabre Jr. this last month.

Kross now started to change his offense into strikes, but it gave Cage the opening to hit a desperation DDT to cut off Kross’ momentum.

Back from commercial, Cage and Kross were exchanging strikes. Cage was trying not to use his arm, so Kross had the easy opening to lock in a sleeper. Cage only managed to escape by ramming himself into the corner.

Cage hit a moonsault for a two count. Cage hit a jumping knee, but he lacked the strength to go for the Jackknife. Kross hit a suplex, but Cage powered up and kicked out at one. Cage hit a pop-up powerbomb, a powerbomb into the knee, and a discus lariat for a near fall.

Cage chased the Drill Claw, but his arm wouldn’t allow it. He hit an F-5 instead, but Johnny came out and put Kross’ foot on the ropes to break the pin.

Johnny distracted Cage while Valkyrie sneaked behind for a low blow. Kross hit two Doomsday Saitos, but Cage still kicked out. The referee called for the bell and raised Kross’ hand, but the fact that Callis and Mathews called the ref out on it hints that Kross and Johnny most likely forced him to.

Pretty good match, but that finish and the confusion about it is not going to sit well with the fans.

After the match, Johnny Pillmanized Cage’s arm.

Mathews and Callis closed their side of the show, sending us to Rosemary’s return to the Undead Realm. We first saw Rosemary grab a meat cleaver and Dark Allie as they headed into the Undead Realm.

We got a couple of funky visuals before we saw that Kiera Hogan also snuck into the Undead Realm behind them. As Rosemary and Dark Allie walked around, they reached a ring with several undead citizens around it. James Mitchell welcomed them all.

Mitchell told Rosemary that he is only setting up the stage for her to meet “the boss.” Rosemary battled The Luchasaurus first, who got an early advantage. He was going to attack her with a wrench, but Rosemary hit the mist, took the wrench, and killed him.

Rosemary then fought against two face painted barbarians, and Rosemary straight up cut their throats with the cleaver. Third, Rosemary fought against an army of Undead Bridesmaids, but out came Kiera Hogan for the assist, giving Rosemary a sword, which she used to take them all out.

Finally, out came Su Yung, who released Dark Allie from her chain.

Yung and Dark Allie fought Hogan and Rosemary, but Allie had a change of heart and couldn’t take out Rosemary at the end. Rosemary took out Yung, but as the battle settled down, Mitchell had Hogan hostage.

Finally, the master came out — Kevin freaking Sullivan! Rosemary claimed Allie’s soul, but Sullivan told her that this is his realm and Rosemary has no claims here. Behind her, Yung, wearing a Freddy Krueger looking glove, went to stab Rosemary, but suddenly, Allie pushed Rosemary and took the knife to the throat.

Allie bled and fell as Rosemary caught her. Rosemary and Allie had a touching goodbye before Allie’s body disappeared and the show went to black. RIP Allie.

A lot of people dislike this sci-fi content for being too wacky, but this ended up being really emotional and the best way to write off Allie from Impact Wrestling.

Overall, this was a great show. Inside the ring, we got two good matches that unfortunately had bad finishes. However, outside the ring, we got a good amount of storyline development and angles that have now started shaping up next month’s Rebellion PPV.

Impact Wrestling results: Johnny Impact explains his actions

Impact Wrestling returned from Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada this week.

The opening video touched on all ongoing feuds as we head into next week’s Against All Odds special episode — with an emphasis on Johnny Impact’s turn and what he has to say about it tonight.

The Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos. She was live from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where Impact is taping their next set of shows. There was a St. Clair E-Sports Team vs. Team Impact Wrestling competition going on, with Santos interviewing some of the players from both teams. At one point, Melissa played games while Kid Ref hosted the show.

Moose defeated Trey Miguel

The story of the match was that Trey had to overcome Moose’s size, which helped Moose block most of Trey’s offense. They started with Trey going after Moose’s legs with kicks. When Moose stopped him, Trey went for quick moves and ranas, managing to toss Moose outside the ring. But as he went for a dive, Moose cut him off.

Trey got himself a second chance and hit two suicide dives. But on the third dive, Moose caught him in the middle of the air and hit an apron bomb. Trey seemed like he wasn’t making the count, but Moose stopped it and went for another apron bomb, waking up Miguel. Miguel went for yet another dive. Moose caught him again — but this time he swung Trey into the steps.

Back in the ring, Moose worked over Trey for a bit before he reversed Moose’s Go To Hell into a pinning attempt. Moose seemed to regain control by hitting a huge lariat, but Trey finally got an opening and hit a top rope dropkick and a springboard dive to get Moose down for a frog splash.

Moose hit a pop-up powerbomb for a two count. They traded a few kicks before Trey hit a reverse rana for two. Moose blocked a codebreaker, then tossed Trey into the ring post twice before hitting the spear for the win. The match had several spots that were botched, or looked botched, but aside from that, it was good action.

Sami Callihan cut a promo in their oVe TV. Callihan gave Rich Swann one final threat that he will take the X-Division Championship tonight. Okay promo.

Back from commercial, Santos interviewed Tessa Blanchard about Gail Kim being suspended. Blanchard said that Kim being suspended is not enough for her and said that if Impact doesn’t want to be sued, they’ll send Kim to the ring to publicly apologize to her and then fire Kim for good.

Josh Mathews made the announcement that Johnny Impact defending his World Championship against Brian Cage will be the main event of next month’s Rebellion pay-per-view.

Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake defeated KM & Fallah Bahh

Drake and Bahh started the match, with Bahh using his size to counter Drake going for a shoulder block and a crossbody. KM and Edwards came in, with Edwards gaining control. With quick tags, Edwards and Drake started working over KM’s arms until he got away to tag Bahh. They traded control of the match for a bit with quick tags, mostly when KM and Bahh tagged in and out.

Drake hit a fantastic superplex on KM. Bahh came in and took out Drake with a crossbody. Edwards hit a tope suicida to Bahh, completely wiping him out. Edwards went to get Kenny the Kendo Stick, the most famous Kenny in the world according to Don Callis. The referee tried to stop Edwards, but he tossed the kendo stick to Drake, who hit KM and set him up for Eddie’s Boston Knee Party for the win.

The match wasn’t much, but the chemistry between Edwards and Drake is really good.

Rolando Melendez, investigative reporter, tried to interview Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie outside the venue as they arrived, asking about them turning against Brian Cage. Johnny just blew him off and told him he’ll find out with the “rest of the marks.”

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was Cage vs. Fenix from last year’s ReDefined special episode.

Melendez once again tried to interview Johnny Impact — but this time, Valkyrie literally pushed him into a trash can.

Backstage, Rich Swann was with Willie Mack, who told Swann that he has his back tonight when Swann takes on Callihan. Ethan Page walked up and told Mack that he won’t get a chance to go fight oVe because Page is what Mack needs to worry about.

Ace Austin defeated Damian Hyde

Austin started the match by hitting several kicks from complicated positions, ending with a Space Flying Tiger Drop. Back in the ring, Hyde tried to get some offense in, but Austin easily dodged him and hit a springboard boot.

Austin hit a senton, a kick combo, a two-foot Curb Stomp, and finally The Fold for the win. Total squash — Hyde had no offense. Austin has a basic moveset, but he makes everything look incredibly complicated.

We got a vignette for Madison Rayne’s return.

We also got a video package going over the story between Swann and Callihan.

In the ring, Mathews brought out Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie. Johnny said that he turned because of the fans. He said that even though he came out and defended the title against everyone, fans didn’t care about him, they only wanted to see crash TV and see him get hurt.

Impact said that as soon as a new big meathead came up, they all turned to the new flavor of the month — except Brian Cage actually believes the fans like him. Johnny said he can’t be loyal to the fans because the fans were never loyal to him.

Mathews then asked Valkyrie about facing Jordynne Grace next week for the title. Valkyrie just kind of blew off the question and also went into attacking the fans and defending her husband. Valkyrie said that once she is done with Grace, she won’t allow Impact to decide for her who she faces and when she defends.

Finally, Mathews asked Johnny about the Rebellion match with Cage. Johnny said that Cage will get his match, one-on-one, and he’ll once again defeat Cage. He threatened that Cage may not make it to Rebellion, implying that accidents happen.

Johnny closed the promo by saying he used to care for all the fans, but now he just cares about Valkyrie and the World Championship. Overall, a good interview — Johnny was great.

Somewhere in the realm of the living, Rosemary met with Father James Mitchell. Rosemary confronted Mitchell about getting the empty vessel that Dark Allie is, but not her actual soul. Mitchell told Rosemary if she wants Allie back, she needs to go talk to his boss. Rosemary hinted she will go talk to “him” in the realm of the undead and get Allie’s soul back. Interesting turn of events.

Willie Mack defeated Ethan Page

Page jumped Mack before the bell. Page manage to keep the momentum for a while until Mack countered a shoulder tackle into a Samoan drop and moonsault combination. Page left the ring, but Mack followed and they exchanged a few shots, ending with Page having the advantage.

Back in the ring, Page worked over Mack, cutting off any chance for a comeback. Page locked in a sleeper, but Mack managed to escape and turned the match with a couple of running strikes and an atomic drop.

Mack hit a shotgun dropkick and the running cannonball to the corner for a two count. Mack then hit a DDT for another two count. Page hit a flying elbow for two after tossing Mack from the top rope. They traded a few kicks before Mack hit the stunner for the win. Okay match — nothing special.

Backstage, Melendez tried to interview Johnny and Valkyrie one last time, but up walked Killer Kross, who said something in Johnny’s ear that seemed to benefit him. Johnny walked away while Kross gave the camera a mad look.

We got a video package hyping up next week’s Disco Inferno vs. Scarlett Bordeaux match. Melendez interviewed Disco, who was just drinking. Disco said he doesn’t need to train since he’s fighting a girl and he is going to prove to Bordeaux she doesn’t belong in the ring.

Santos interviewed Gail Kim, who was coming out of a meeting with Impact management. She said that management was taking things seriously. Suddenly, the camera turned to the back where LAX and the Lucha Bros were brawling until security pulled them apart. Konnan came out and said that this is what the Lucha Bros wanted — LAX just wanted a rematch.

Willie Mack was making his way back to the locker room, but he was followed by Jake and Dave Crist. They closed the door and we heard a brawl go on inside before Mack walked out and locked the door.

X-Division Champion Rich Swann defeated Sami Callihan to retain his title

They started quick, with both men trading fists and a quick cutter from Swann to set up Callihan receiving a tornillo dive on the outside. Swann and Callihan then brawled outside the ring — and within a minute, they made their way to the steel steps. Callihan went for a piledriver, but Swann escaped and used the steps instead to hit a flying elbow.

The brawl outside continued with both trading strikes. Callihan dropped Swann with an exploder on the ramp.

Back from commercial, Callihan was choking out Swann in the middle of the ring, while also working on Swann’s back with knee strikes. Callihan did his spit chops and hit a big scoop slam before going back to working on Swann’s head — this time twisting the neck.

Callihan got a second sleeper, but Swann reversed it into a stunner and finally got an opening to strike down Callihan and build momentum to take down Callihan with a headscissors.

Swann and Callihan traded strikes until Swann got another headscissors takedown for a two count. Callihan hit a powerbomb, a knee to the jaw, and the Get Outta Here for a close near fall.

Callihan finally chased the piledriver, but Swann escaped and superkicked Callihan. After a few more kicks, Swann hit a second rope 450 for a two count. Swann went for another, but Callihan recovered. Swann went for Checkmate, but Callihan countered and hit a top rope powerbomb, and after a two count, transitioned into a crossface and into an STF. Swann escaped by reaching the ropes.

Callihan spat on Swann, finally pushing him to the limit. Swann hit a Lethal Injection for a two count. Swann went for the Phoenix Splash. Callihan dodged and went for the piledriver, but because he had to do his taunt, he got distracted and Swann rolled him up to retain the X-Division title.

After the match, Callihan went to attack Swann with a chair, but Swann stopped him. Swann had the opportunity to take out Callihan with the chair, but suddenly, Mad Man Fulton, formerly Sawyer Fulton in NXT, debuted and took out Swann with a one-handed chokeslam.

Mack came out for the save, but Fulton hit an End of Days to take him out too. Callihan hit Swann with a bat to the jaw to finish the job and close out the show. oVe just got a bit stronger.

Overall, this was a good show — mostly when it comes to storyline development heading into next week’s Against All Odds special episode and the upcoming Rebellion PPV.

Impact Wrestling results: The Dark War

This week’s Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos. Don Callis, who is in Japan doing commentary for the New Japan Cup, made a cameo.

The post-show interview was former Impact wrestler Crimson, who promoted the upcoming Salute to the Troops show on May 11.

X-Division Champion Rich Swann defeated Ethan Page in a non-title match

This was a speed vs. power bout. Swann got the advantage every time he had the space to run around Page, but when Page would get his hands on Swann, he would strike or drop Swann with power moves.

Page gained control by hitting a set of backbreakers and continued working Swann’s back with knees and forearms to the lower back. As the match went on, Page started getting cocky, taking his eyes off Swann, who finally got enough space to connect with a jumping neckbreaker to take Page off his feet.

Swann dodged an incoming Page, tossing him outside and connecting on a tope con giro. Back in the ring, Swann hit a frog splash for a two count. Swann went for the 450, but Page pushed the referee to the ropes, dropping him. Page followed up by tossing Swann to the mat for a two count.

Page and Swann traded some strikes in the middle of the ring that ended with both men kicking each other and Swann dropping Page with a Lethal Injection. Swann connected with the Phoenix Splash for the win. Okay match — it picked up towards the end.

After the match, oVe came out. Sami Callihan cut a promo saying that tonight is the night that Swann finally joins oVe. Callihan said that family is everything — and Swann and Callihan hugged it out in the ring.

Swann put the oVe shirt on and started chanting with them, but behind their backs, he superkicked Callihan and hit a double cutter on the Crists before ripping the shirt off. The crowd popped.

Backstage, Konnan told Santana and Ortiz that he is getting them their rematch against the Lucha Bros. He told them to just pay attention to tonight’s Lucha Bros vs. Rascalz match.

Josh Mathews told us that Brian Cage is next in line for a shot at Johnny Impact’s World Championship as soon as Johnny can return.

Ace Austin defeated Jake Atlas

Austin made his Impact debut tonight with his X-Men Gambit gimmick.

The match was fast paced. Austin and Atlas had a few reversals and counters to begin things — but quickly enough, Austin hit a few unique looking kicks to gain control. Atlas had some hope spots as he caught Austin with a kick and chops, but Austin used his athleticism to dodge Atlas’ offense, jumping around the ropes.

Atlas hit a big Fireman’s Carry for a two count. Atlas went for a kick, but Austin countered with a kick combo, ending with an interesting looking Curb Stomp and finishing Atlas with a running blockbuster, which he calls The Fold. Good showing for Austin, but Atlas looked even better if you asked me.

Rolando Melendez interviewed Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie, who were in their house in Los Angeles, California. Melendez asked about letting Brian Cage down, to which Johnny answered that he did, but it was an accident.

Melendez asked about working injured like others do, and Valkyrie brought up that Johnny is getting neck fusion surgery. Yikes — bad timing to make that the kayfabe injury after Tommaso Ciampa’s legit injury.

Johnny said that Cage will get his title shot when he is ready to return. Rolando Melendez is a great character.

Reno Scum cut a promo backstage. Adam Thornstowe said that it took them two years to come back to Impact and that Fallah Bahh and KM were their unfortunate victims. They accepted a rematch against Bahh & KM.

Alisha Edwards came out for a special announcement. Alisha thanked Impact Wrestling and said that her contract is expiring at the end of the month. She said that she enjoys coming out every week, but she also has considered staying home and starting a family. Suddenly, the Desi Hit Squad interrupted.

Rohit Raju cut a promo against the women’s empowerment movement and said that Alisha should indeed go home because it’s her job. Raj Singh said that all the women in wrestling should follow in her footsteps. Gama Singh said that God created women to serve men. Alisha finally had enough and slapped Gama in the face.

When Raj and Rohit got in Alisha’s face, Eddie Edwards came out to help her, but the numbers game was too much for Eddie until Eli Drake came down.

Eli Drake hinted at joining in with the Desi Hit Squad on the attack, but Drake attacked them and defended Eddie Edwards. Drake told Eddie that this was “something to think about” before walking to the back.

Rolando Melendez interviewed Brian Cage, who shut him down about his investigative approach. Melendez showed him the Johnny video from earlier, but Cage blew him off.

Backstage, Eddie and Alisha were talking when Drake walked up to them. Eddie thanked Drake for helping them both. Drake once again suggested they team up and chase the Tag Team, titles.

Alisha actually agreed with Drake and pushed for the tag team too, bringing up that Drake is the only man Eddie has left. Eddie agreed to team with Drake and take on the Desi Hit Squad next week.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was The Wolves vs. The Hardys vs. Team 3D in a ladder match for the Tag Team titles from No Surrender 2014.

Melissa Santos interviewed Killer Kross and Moose. She asked about what is next for them now that they have taken out Johnny Impact and Brian Cage. Moose celebrated with a new suit. Killer Kross said if he or Moose can’t get title shots, then no one is getting title shots, and so if he doesn’t get a shot once Johnny returns, Johnny is going back to the hospital.

The Rascalz were in their roundtable. Dezmond Xavier said that in order to win tonight, they need masks to gain lucha powers — and Xavier revealed he had Kikutaro’s mask. They made fun of Moose’s Pepto-Bismol colored jacket. Zachary Wentz told Xavier to just give Kikutaro his face back. This was funny, but not a lot of substance.

Rosemary, Kiera Hogan & Jordynne Grace defeated Su Yung, Dark Allie & The Undead Maid of Honor (w/ Father James Mitchell) to gain control over Allie in the Dark War

The Undead Maid of Honor was Buggy Nova, formerly known as NXT’s Skylar Moon. Rosemary came out with a big entrance attire — she got a huge pop from the crowd.

The match started with all six wrestlers in the ring, with the babyfaces getting rid of the heels quickly. Alone in the ring, Hogan beat on Yung for a bit. Allie and Rosemary tagged in, but Allie ran away and tagged in the Undead Maid of Honor.

Rosemary easily got the upper hand and locked in the upside down choke. Allie and Grace tagged in. Grace dropped Allie with a German suplex and tagged in Hogan, who also went crazy over Allie, but she got caught in the ropes and the heels took control.

Back from commercial, Yung worked over Hogan. Allie tagged in and got a two count after a clothesline. Team Yung kept working on Hogan for a couple of minutes, getting a near submission and two counts in the process. Eventually, Hogan made a comeback on Allie and worked her way to tag Rosemary.

Rosemary finally had Allie for herself and dropped her with a reverse DDT. Every woman came in and hit their finishers on each other, leaving Rosemary and Allie at the end. Yung went for the mist, but she hit the Undead Maid of Honor instead.

Hogan took out Yung while Grace held Allie, allowing Rosemary to pin the Undead Maid of Honor and win the match.

Rosemary put a collar on Allie and dragged her to the back as James Mitchell had to hold off Yung.

Backstage, Glenn Gilbertti asked Konnan about Don Callis. Konnan instigated Gilbertti by telling him that Callis said he had been hired to become a mascot. Konnan told Gilbertti to go into a room and call out Callis. Gilbertti went in and saw a bald person, who he said his piece to, but the bald person turned out to be Killer Kross, who kicked Gilbertti’s butt.

Back from commercial, Gilbertti walked out from his beating. He was hallucinating and confusing people with Vince Russo, Jeff Jarrett, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and name dropping AEW. He finally found Scott D’Amore, who talked him down. Gilbertti walked out and joined Callis on commentary.

In the ring, Josh Mathews introduced Scarlett Bordeaux. Matthews asked about Bordeaux’s talent search, to which Bordeaux responded that none of the entries showed any potential to win a championship. Bordeaux made fun of Gilbertti wearing the turkey suit on Thanksgiving.

Gilbertti got in the ring and asked why Bordeaux would want to wrestle. He said that just by walking around she was the biggest deal, but the only thing that would happen if she wrestled is that she would just suck. Gilbertti said that women’s wrestling hasn’t been good since the last bra and panties match. Bordeaux, in the name of all women, slapped the misogynist Gilbertti.

Bordeaux challenged Gilbertti to her debut match. Gilbertti talked some more trash, telling Bordeaux to go home and do the dishes. He said if after all that she still wants to wrestle, he’ll be there waiting.

Disco Inferno and Scarlett Bordeaux just had one of the best angles I’ve seen in a while on TV — they were both great. I’m sold on that match, which takes place in three weeks on the Against All Odds special episode.

Rosemary, Hogan, and Grace dragged Allie outside. Rosemary told Hogan and Grace that she will take it from there. Grace agreed that they had only signed up to get Allie back. Hogan did not want to let Allie go until she got the old Allie back.

Melissa Santos interviewed Tessa Blanchard about a number one contender’s match she has against Grace. Blanchard said that Impact management is screwing her over for what she did to Gail Kim. Blanchard said that she will defeat Grace and get her rematch.

Impact Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) in a non-title match

Fenix and Xavier started off, but not with the usual reversals and counters one would expect from them. Xavier tried to trick Fenix and caught him off guard with a superkick, but the Lucha Bros were on the top of their game and got control, getting a quick two count with the assisted wheelbarrow slam.

The Lucha Bros took out Wentz, leaving Xavier to take on both Penta and Fenix. He actually managed to dodge them, tossing Fenix into Pentagon with a spear. Wentz came in with a combo on Fenix, a huge running knee, and a springboard knee for a two count.

Fenix caught Wentz with some chops and tagged in Pentagon, who took out Wentz’s knee, but as he went to follow up, Wentz kicked him outside. Fenix went for a jump outside, but Wentz hit an uppercut and tossed him to his brother. Xavier hit an assisted senton over the ring post on both Lucha Bros.

Back in the ring, the Rascalz got a near fall after each guy hit a senton on Pentagon, but Fenix broke up the pin. Finally, after exchanging some strikes, Pentagon picked up the win on Wentz after the superkick and Penta Driver combo. Great short match — the Rascalz looked awesome in defeat.

Backstage, the Lucha Bros were greeted by Konnan. Pentagon and Fenix told Konnan to tell Santana and Ortiz to never touch their masks again. Konnan asked for the rematch, but the Lucha Bros told Konnan to wait.

Konnan said he wasn’t asking, he was telling them and that the next time he saw them, he wanted a date. Konnan walked away. Pentagon told Fenix that they’re not going to take orders from Konnan.

Overall, this was a great show. Impact Wrestling low-key made a big deal of International Women’s Day by putting their own female roster over and not just selling a women’s revolution. While the main event was great, the storyline developments of tonight were the stronger parts of the show.

Next week: Johnny Impact returns, oVe takes on Willie Mack, Rich Swann & Tommy Dreamer, and Tessa Blanchard and Jordynne Grace face off in a Knockouts Championship number one contender’s match.

Impact Wrestling Uncaged results: Two title matches, World Cup

Impact returned this week with their “Uncaged” special episode. This was the final show from last month’s tapings at Fronton Mexico in Mexico City.

Tonight’s Twitch stream was hosted by “Disco Inferno” Glenn Gilbertti and Melissa Santos live from the Las Vegas tapings. They answered questions, interviewed several wrestlers throughout the show, and talked to some of the people involved with the NFL Las Vegas Alumni affiliation.

After the show, they featured each of the main event’s competitors doing post-match thoughts. Impact is really making great use of Twitch, having an open time slot, and having live contact with fans.

Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie defeated Tessa Blanchard in a street fight to retain her title

Blanchard came out wearing, according to Don Callis, an original Four Horsemen T-shirt from one of Tully Blanchard’s street fights. Valkyrie came out with a Perros del Mal T-shirt and sporting face paint that looked more like Rey Bucanero than anything else. There was a huge board in the ring with Wera Loca vs. Diamond spray painted on it.

Blanchard tried to attack Valkyrie with a chair on the ramp during Valkyrie’s entrance, but Valkyrie was ready for her, took her down, and beat her up back into the ring. Blanchard set up a chair in the corner and they did a few spots trying to ram each other on the chair.

Valkyrie went after Blanchard’s back with kicks before throwing Blanchard to the outside. Valkyrie went for a tope suicida, but Blanchard caught her with a chair. Blanchard started to beat up Valkyrie, throwing her to the ring post and barricades. Blanchard hit a huge running dropkick to Valkyrie that found herself between the barricade and a chair.

Valkyrie made a small comeback using a cooking plate. Blanchard put a chair around Valkyrie’s neck and rammed her into the ring post — just like Killer Kross did to Johnny Impact a month ago.

Back in the ring, Blanchard choked out Valkyrie with an electrical cord. The cord went around her face, looking a lot more painful than if it had been the neck. Blanchard ripped the Perros del Mal shirt to huge boos by the fans. Blanchard went for a spear, but Valkyrie dodged and Blanchard flew into the chair that was previously set up in the corner.

Valkyrie made a bigger comeback this time. She started throwing Blanchard around the ring, connected with a few clotheslines, and hit the running meteora to the corner. Valkyrie set up the cooking pan between Blanchard’s legs and hit it with a chair.

Blanchard woke up a bit and took down Valkyrie with a chair for a two count. Blanchard started to bring more weapons into the ring. She climbed to the top rope, but Valkyrie caught her with a chair and hit a dangerous looking Samoan drop onto the chairs.

Back from commercial, both were going at it trading forearms. They even did the sit-down strike off, slapping each other back and forth. Valkyrie got the final shot for a two count.

Blanchard speared Valkyrie into the board that was in the corner, but it didn’t break. They went for a second one — and it still didn’t break. It just looked brutal. Blanchard got a two count from both spears.

Blanchard then went to get a table from under the ring. She went to foot stomp Valkyrie’s head on the table, but Valkyrie recovered, threw Blanchard to the outside, and followed with a top rope crossbody.

Back in the ring, Valkyrie set up Blanchard on the table and hit a top rope foot stomp for the pin.

This was a straight up fight. All the spots looked brutal — more than they usually do in other street fights. Great opener.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week (as voted by the Twitch viewers) was Dezmond Xavier vs. Taiji Ishimori from the Super X Cup finals at Destination X 2017. Fun match.

Team Impact was interviewed by Melissa Santos. Sami Callihan proclaimed himself as the leader of the team, then Fallah Bahh did some comedy and Eddie Edwards and Callihan almost restarted their rivalry. Eli Drake cut a great promo actually hyping up the team and getting them all together.

Willie Mack defeated Ethan Page

This was a slow, okay match — nothing special to it. They started by chasing each other around the corner — where Mack did a headstand on the top rope, swerving Page, taking him down with a kick, and getting control of the match.

Mack hit a few chops and an actual nipple-twister. Page swept Mack and hit a DDT to turn the match. Now it was Page that got a few chops in. He went for a suplex, but Mack countered with one of his own.

Page hit a second rope enzuigiri for a two count. Mack hit a running cannonball and a Samoan drop/moonsault combination for a two count. Mack went for the stunner, but Page countered with a kick and a suplex for another two count. Mack finally hit the stunner and got the win.

Killer Kross cut a promo telling Johnny Impact that he will need a miracle to win tonight — because if he’s not focused, Kross will take him out and take his championship. Great short promo.

The camera turned, and we saw Mack walk to the locker room. Dave and Jake Crist followed him in and closed the door.

Team AAA was interviewed by Santos. Psycho Clown cut a promo hyping up the team, saying that this is their territory and they will win tonight. Puma King said that this goes beyond AAA — this one is for Mexico.

Sami Callihan came out to the ring. Callihan cut a promo, addressing Rich Swann. He said that everything that Swann said in last week’s interview was “fake news.” Callihan said that for the last few weeks, he’s been offering Swann a chance to join their group, but he gets rejected over and over. He called out Swann.

Callihan told Swann that if their relationship means anything to Swann, he will come out and accept the offer.

Swann came out and rejected once again. Callihan attacked Swann with the microphone. Swann made a small comeback and hit a Phoenix Splash to the outside.

They brawled around ringside and up to the ramp — where Callihan dropped Swann with a piledriver. He then tossed Swann off the ramp onto a table. Good angle — this is surely going all the way to Impact’s Rebellion PPV in April.

Team AAA (Psycho Clown, Hijo del Vikingo, Puma King & Aerostar) defeated Team Impact (Sami Callihan, Eli Drake, Eddie Edwards & Fallah Bahh) in an elimination match to win the World Cup

Callihan and Psycho started the match striking. Callihan had the upper hand until Psycho hit a plancha from the top rope. Aerostar got tagged in and hit a few tornillos and a wacky looking codebreaker on Callihan.

Drake came in and fought Aerostar with some great looking power moves. Hijo del Vikingo then got tagged in. Drake went for the same moves on him, but Vikingo turned a pop-up powerslam into a DDT.

Edwards came in and paired up with Vikingo for a bit before Puma King came in. Puma hit Edwards with a delayed vertical suplex. Edwards hit a backpack stunner and tagged in Bahh. Finally, Bahh and Puma did some lucha teases before the match broke down with all eight men in the ring — where they started brawling.

Team AAA cleared the ring until Drake and Callihan attacked them from behind to keep the brawl going outside the ring.

Psycho hit a tope con giro on Callihan and Bahh. Puma King hit a springboard plancha. Aerostar hit a double-jump plancha, Bahh hit a plancha from the apron, and — finally — Hijo del Vikingo hit an impressive Imploding 450 to the outside. Vikingo went for another one, but Drake cut him off and tossed him on top of everyone.

Back in the ring, Edwards had his kendo stick. Drake took it from him, and as he was about to use it on Puma King, Edwards took the stick from Drake. Amid all this distraction, Puma King pinned Drake with a wacky pin to eliminate him from the match.

Back from commercial, Callihan was working over Puma King. Bahh and Vikingo tagged in, with Vikingo doing speed spots, dodging Bahh, and hitting Callihan with a springboard codebreaker. Vikingo hit a running double knee on Edwards in the corner, but after that great sequence, Bahh caught Vikingo in mid-air and dropped him with a slam for the elimination.

Aerostar came in, but Bahh cut him off with a crossbody. As Bahh went for the Banzai Drop, Aerostar dodged him and used the momentum to roll Bahh up for the elimination.

Callihan and Edwards were left for Impact. Aerostar hit a cutter on Edwards, but he couldn’t follow up on a plancha. Edwards dodged and hit the Boston Knee Party to eliminate Aerostar.

Puma King and Callihan went at it. Callihan hit a powerbomb, V-Trigger, and a piledriver to eliminate Puma King.

Psycho Clown took on both Edwards and Callihan. He initially managed to get some momentum, but the numbers game got to him. Edwards hit the Boston Knee Party, but Callihan threw Edwards out, trying to steal the pin. Psycho kicked out and rolled up Callihan to eliminate him.

The final two were Edwards and Psycho Clown. Psycho hit a big tope suicida. But back in the ring, Edwards capitalized and hit a powerbomb for a two count. Psycho hit a couple of kicks and a Slice Bread Number Two for two.

Edwards hit a few clotheslines, but suddenly, Drake came out with Edwards’ kendo stick and hit him with it, giving Psycho the opening to pin Edwards with La Magistral to give Team AAA the win.

Overall, the match had some good parts with Puma King and Hijo del Vikingo, but it was one of those where the eliminations just happen one after the other because there’s not enough time to properly build any of them.

We got a vignette for the return of Reno Scum in two weeks.

We also got a video recapping the saga between Lucha Bros and LAX, going all the way to the title change from last week. We then got a skit from LAX’s clubhouse with Konnan yelling at Santana and Ortiz for losing the titles. Konnan told them that he is going to get them a rematch, but it’s the last time they face each other, win, lose, or draw.

Allie and Su Yung were talking somewhere in the basement. Allie’s voice has changed. She said that Rosemary is playing mind games. Rosemary crept around the shadows and then disappeared.

Scarlett Bordeaux cut a promo from her hotel room where she was barely waking up.

Impact World Champion Johnny Impact defeated Brian Cage, Moose, and Killer Kross to retain his title

The match started with all four men trading strikes. Johnny took out Moose with a dive. Cage tossed Kross outside and followed with a tope con giro himself. Cage and Johnny went at it in the ring, with Johnny hitting a shining wizard on Cage before Kross and Moose once again got in the ring and double teamed Johnny with a double powerslam.

It was quite early, but they already got the dissension spot between Moose and Kross out of the way with Moose going for the pin on Johnny.

Moose and Kross hit a double powerbomb on Cage, but Moose then tried to roll up Kross from behind. Kross hit a Saito suplex on Moose. Johnny recovered and took out everyone, but he got kicked low by Moose to cut him off. Moose kicked Cage and Kross, then dropped Johnny with a Go to Hell for a two count.

Cage recovered, hitting a Centipede German on Moose and Kross. He brought in Johnny with a deadlift suplex from the apron to the ring. Cage went for the discus lariat, but Kross dodged and hit a Saito suplex on him. All four traded strikes and took each other out. The crowd chanted “Impact Wrestling.”

Johnny made it to his feet first. There was a Tower of Doom spot with Kross as the base and Johnny on top. Kross locked in an armbreaker on Johnny. Moose applied a figure four on Johnny as well, but then Cage went for a dragon sleeper on Kross, breaking the submission chain.

Kross took down both Cage and Johnny in the corner, then hit Moose with a Doomsday Saito. Johnny connected with a springboard kick on Kross for a two count. He went for Starship Pain, but Moose cut him off and hit a senton for a two count.

Moose went for the Game Changer on Cage but got countered with a jumping knee. Cage hit the Drill Claw on Moose for a two count when Kross broke it up. Kross hit a Doomsday Saito on Cage, but Cage fired up and hit a discus lariat.

The finish saw Johnny hit the Starship Pain on one corner on Moose, while Cage hit the Drill Claw on Kross on the other corner of the ring. Johnny went for the pin first, so when the ref counted to three, Johnny got the win instead of Cage.

Overall, a good main event — it was really action packed. The last minutes of the match were really good.

This was a good show — these special episodes are usually good inside the ring. It felt like a mid-season finale heading into the Rebellion PPV, with several storylines escalating into proper feuds, and potentially ending the Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard program.

Next week, Impact returns to Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, Nevada with Scarlett Bordeaux’s debut.

Impact Wrestling results: LAX vs. Lucha Bros Tag Team title match

Tonight’s Twitch broadcast was hosted by Josh Mathews and Don Callis, who is currently in Osaka, Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling. After the show, Jake & Dave Crist joined the feed for a Q&A.

Impact Wrestling returned from Fronton Mexico in Mexico City this week with a huge main event as LAX defended their Tag Team titles against the Lucha Bros (Pentagon & Fenix).

This was also the go-home show for next week’s “Uncaged” episode of Impact, which will feature Johnny Impact defending his World title against Brian Cage, Moose, and Killer Kross in a four-way match, Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard in a street fight for the Knockouts Championship, and Team AAA vs. Team Impact in a World Cup elimination match.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack defeated oVe (Jake & Dave Crist)

oVe jumped Swann and Mack to start the match, going after Swann. He managed to escape and tag in Mack, who was in a better position to take on the initial flurry of offense. Mack came in, threw both men out, and hit a tope con giro. Swann then followed with a tornillo, but Jake recovered and hit a tope suicida into a tornado DDT on Swann before he could make it back in the ring.

On the other side of the ring, Dave took out Mack with a superkick.

Back in the ring, Dave worked over Mack’s head with a modified STF and a series of double-team moves, mostly taking turns kicking Mack and making a lot of quick tags. Jake got a two count with a Northern Lights suplex.

After some more punishment, Mack dodged some offense, but he and Jake collided in the middle of the ring with a pair of crossbodies. That was enough to give Mack the opening to tag Swann in.

Swann came in strong, hitting a few kicks on Dave and a standing Frankensteiner and frog splash on Jake. oVe cut Swann off the top rope and hit a spike piledriver, but Mack broke up the pin attempt.

Mack hit a double stunner on both Crist brothers, followed by a double Lethal injection. Swann then hit a second rope 450 on Dave for the win. The match started somewhat chaotic, but it got a lot better towards the end.

Pentagon Jr. & Fenix cut a promo where they said that tonight, they will win the Tag Team titles. Fenix said they’re wrestling in front of their family and their people — and so tonight, they’re going all out. Pentagon talked about Konnan saying that he wanted the titles to be in the family, but after tonight, they’ll be on their side of the family.

Mathews and Callis announced that next week, for Uncaged, Johnny Impact defends his World Championship against Brian Cage, Moose, and Killer Kross.

The Flashback Moment of the Week, voted by the Twitch viewers, was Pentagon Jr. defeating Austin Aries and Fenix to win the Impact World title at Redemption.

Impact Wrestling and the NFL Alumni association’s Las Vegas chapter announced a partnership. They will be doing community outreach and programs of the sort.

Kiera Hogan (w/ Jordynne Grace) defeated Dark Allie (w/ Su Yung)

Hogan started the match at 60 mph, attacking Allie at the bell. Hogan hit her running kick and forearm combo for a quick pin attempt. She then hit a bulldog for a two count.

Allie finally managed to stop Hogan with a running clothesline and get some time to compose herself. She hit a sliding forearm for a two count and started working over Hogan’s back. Allie went for the codebreaker, but Hogan countered with a kick and got a two count. Allie hit a backstabber for another near fall. Hogan hit a reverse X-Factor for a 10 count tease.

Outside the ring, we saw Yung leave her glove in the ring, setting it up for Allie to grab. Grace saw that and took out Yung, but as Allie realized that Yung wasn’t there, she assumed that Rosemary had replaced Yung once again.

Thanks to the distraction, Hogan hit a Cross Rhodes-like move for the win. Not much of a match, it was short and almost felt like a segment.

Johnny Impact was interviewed backstage about having to defend his title against Cage, Moose, and Kross next week. Johnny was irate that he had to find out during an interview in the middle of a hall. Cage came out and looked annoyed that he had to share his title shot with more people.

We got the announcement of the main event for Impact’s United We Stand show, which will be the Lucha Bros taking on RVD & Sabu in an “extreme dream match.” United We Stand is a show co-promoted with WrestlePro that’s taking place in Rahway, New Jersey on the Thursday of WrestleMania week.

Backstage, we saw Allie and Yung looking for Rosemary in some corner of the building. Suddenly, a message appeared that read “The witching is upon us…don’t say we didn’t warn you,” signed Rosemary.

Trey Miguel (w/ The Rascalz) defeated Rohit Raju (w/ Gama Singh and Raj Singh)

Pretty good match. It started with both doing a series of counters and reversals, with Raju actually getting some upper hand early on but later getting outwrestled by Miguel.

Miguel hit a springboard dropkick, sending Raju to the outside, but he couldn’t follow with a dive. Raju hit a big DDT on the apron and finally had control of the match. He distracted the referee at points, allowing Raj to get some cheap shots outside the ring. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Raju worked over Miguel’s upper body.

As they started trading counters again, Miguel hit a standing foot stomp on the back of Raju’s head to finally level out the match. They got into a strike-off where Raju tried to give Miguel an eye poke but failed. Miguel hit the corner Trey-1-9 and a neckbreaker for a two count. Raju hit a gordbuster for two. Raju got another near fall after a running knee to the back of Miguel’s head.

Raj tried to interfere again, but Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz stopped him and scared Gama away. Back in the ring, Trey hit X19 and the meteora for the win.

We had a Team AAA showcase featuring Psycho Clown, Hijo del Vikingo, Puma King, and Aerostar, who will be fighting for the World Cup next week against Team Impact Wrestling.

Scarlett Bordeaux announced that she is making her in-ring debut at the Vegas tapings.

Sami Callihan defeated Puma King

Another great match, definitely worth a watch. Callihan started by jumping Puma King during his entrance, but he wasn’t able to follow up as Puma King composed himself quickly and hit a suplex to get some time.

Puma King responded with a tope con giro. They started brawling outside the ring, with Puma King kicking Callihan all over until Callihan hid behind the ref and poked Puma King’s eyes, getting an opening to hit a tornado DDT for the countout tease.

Back in the ring, Callihan hit a sit-down powerbomb for a one count. He worked over Puma King’s foot and went after his mask. Callihan started chopping him but kept getting distracted playing to the fans, giving Puma King more and more time to recover.

Callihan went for a foot stomp, but Puma King turned it into a Frankensteiner from the tree-of-woe position and followed with a dropkick to make a comeback.

Back from commercial, Callihan had regained control. As we saw the recap from during the commercial, Puma King took a bad spill outside, hurting his already worked on foot. Puma King still tried to make a comeback as they got into a striking battle, ending with both men down for a double knockout tease.

Puma King hit a variation of the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. He followed with a series of strikes, but Callihan countered with a huge lariat for a two count. Callihan started to chase the piledriver, but Puma King escaped and went for La Magistral. Callihan reached the ropes to break the pin.

Puma King went for a springboard kick, but Callihan caught him with a kick. They traded roll-ups, but it ended with Callihan rolling Puma King all the way into a piledriver for the win. Puma King was really over in this match.

We got a Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard hype video for next week’s street fight for the Knockouts Championship. Good stuff.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards and Eli Drake met. Drake told Edwards that they were able to win last week without having to rely on weapons and hardcore shtick. Drake told him that next week, they can win the World Cup match. Edwards told Drake to let him do his thing and not get in his way. Drake once again asked Edwards to bring the Wolf Eddie Edwards back.

Melissa Santos interviewed Moose and Killer Kross, who said they have the numbers advantage in next week’s main event. Moose made some NFL analogies that seemed to annoy Kross, showing some dissension going into the title match.

Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated LAX (Santana & Ortiz) w/ Konnan to win the Impact Tag Team titles

Great back-and-forth match — they went all out bell to bell. I saw this match live and can say that it looked a lot better during this broadcast. The Lucha Bros, as expected, were really over with the crowd in Mexico City. They had a big-match entrance with Chinese Dragon dancers — just in time for Chinese New Year.

The match was full of action at the start. Pentagon went for the Fear Factor, but LAX took him out and countered with an assisted moonsault that Pentagon countered himself with a superkick on Santana while he was in the middle of the air.

Santana took out Fenix, Pentagon took out Ortiz, and the two survivors went face-to-face and went at it. Fenix came back, took out Santana, and went at it with Ortiz in a striking match.

That was followed by Pentagon and Ortiz striking each other until Santana came out of nowhere with a plancha and Fenix hit a double dropkick as they all finally found themselves down. Great start to the match!

Back from commercial, Ortiz and Fenix were the legal men going at it and order had been restored. Fenix hit an uppercut and a foot stomp to the back of Ortiz’s head for a near fall. Ortiz returned with a huge spinebuster to stop Fenix’s momentum.

Pentagon and Santana tagged in and got into a knife chop battle that turned into superkicks and a huge uranage from Santana for a near fall. Pentagon caught Santana and hit a Pentagon Driver that Santana kicked out of for a big two count.

The match once again broke down to tornado style. Santana got a huge near fall with the same move that LAX won with at Homecoming, but Fenix kicked out at two. LAX hit the Street Sweeper, but Pentagon managed to break the pin at the last second.

Pentagon took out Ortiz with a slingblade. Fenix hit a big time kick on Santana and set up the spike Fear Factor, but Santana kicked out! Pentagon went for the Fear Factor again, but Santana kicked out once again. Pentagon finally hit a superkick and Fenix hit a reverse rana and a second spike Fear Factor to win the titles. That got a huge pop.

After the match, LAX congratulated the Lucha Bros. They went face-to-face before giving up the ring for the Lucha Bros to continue their celebration. Ortiz cried as he walked to the back. Pentagon and Fenix posed with the titles to close the show.

Overall, this was a really good episode of Impact. Three of the five matches were great, with a main event that is worth going out of your way to check out. There wasn’t a lot of storyline development as most things for next week’s Uncaged episode had pretty much already been set up, but the three big matches were all hyped throughout the night.

Impact Wrestling results: Kross & Moose vs. Johnny & Cage

Josh Mathews, Jimmy Jacobs, and Don Callis hosted tonight’s Twitch stream. Callis revealed that he and Jacobs were actually in the middle of a creative meeting. Sami Callihan was in the post-show interview while he was driving. These conversations tend to be quite entertaining and insightful.

The opening video featured the ongoing story between Rich Swann and oVe, Tessa Blanchard’s suspension, and the main event rumblings between Johnny Impact, Brian Cage, Killer Kross, and Moose.

Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) & Taurus defeated Impact Tag Team Champions LAX (Santana & Ortiz) & Daga (w/ Konnan)

As usual, there was a huge reaction for the Lucha Bros. Daga was easily the MVP of the match. As short as it was, everything Daga did was great. Taurus also had a great showing.

Santana and Pentagon started the match. They shook hands, but Fenix jumped in and blindsided Santana with a dropkick to start things off. Everyone got in and brawled to the outside, leaving Taurus to hit the first dive of the match, followed by Daga.

Once again, Santana and Pentagon found themselves in the ring and got into a striking battle where they traded chops and superkicks. Santana hit a rolling cutter for a two count. LAX and Daga all teamed up for a three-man combo on Pentagon. Pentagon dodged them and tagged in Fenix, who went crazy on Ortiz.

Fenix hit a delayed flying headbutt and went for the turnbuckle kick, but Ortiz countered with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Taurus and Daga came in and went back and forth — there was tons of action here. Daga hit a delayed German suplex for a really close near fall.

Daga threw Taurus to the outside and everyone started diving one by one, ending with Fenix hitting a huge flying tope from the top rope to the outside.

Back from commercial, Lucha Bros were dominating the ring, working over Ortiz as Taurus got a two count from a twisting suplex. Pentagon and Fenix hit the spiked Fear Factor for the win.

After the match, Pentagon cut a promo in Spanish (with subtitles) on LAX challenging them to a rematch for the Impact Tag Team titles. LAX accepted the challenge for next week.

An “Uncaged” special episode of Impact was announced with Johnny Impact defending the Impact World Championship against Brian Cage as the main event. Uncaged takes place in two weeks.

Killer Kross and Moose were interviewed by Melissa Santos. Kross said he wasn’t in very good spirits since Cage decided to get involved in his business last week. Moose calmed Kross down, telling him that keeping their composure was the key to winning tonight.

LAX were in their clubhouse. Konnan put over Daga and Taurus. Konnan told LAX that he accepts that they’re able to keep it professional and keep it all in the family.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was fan voted by the Twitch chat room from a set of given options. The options were Eddie Edwards winning the World Championship from Bobby Lashley, Cage’s Impact debut, and Su Yung vs. Rosemary from May 2018.

The winning option was Yung putting Rosemary down with the Panic Switch from the ramp to a table and laying her to rest in a coffin.

We got a commercial for Impact’s next pay-per-view — Rebellion on April 28. It will take place at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Kiera Hogan & Jordynne Grace defeated Su Yung & Dark Allie

The match started fast with Yung and Allie jumping Grace, who overpowered both and ended up with the upper hand. Grace hit her running elbow and kick combo for a two count. Hogan came in and hit a series of running attacks on Yung for two.

Allie finally got tagged in. With the help of Yung, she landed Grace on the floor. Grace dodged Yung’s Red Mist — but she wasn’t able to avoid the double team against the ring post while the referee got distracted with Hogan.

Back in the ring, Allie and Yung cut the ring in half on Grace, constantly tricking the referee and Hogan to get distracted. Grace eventually powered herself into a comeback on Allie, hitting a Pounce.

When both made their way to tag their partners, the lights went out. When they returned, Rosemary had replaced Yung in Allie’s corner. Hogan used the distraction to roll Allie up for the pin. The match was okay — not as sloppy as they’ve had before.

Commentary made a big emphasis that this is the second time we’ve seen Yung disappear and get replaced by Rosemary.

Scarlett Bordeaux was working out and sparring with her minion. She’s wearing heels and still managed to hit a few good kicks, dropping Bobo to a pool.

Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

The story here was that Drake kept doing dirty tactics while Edwards wanted the match to be clean and didn’t agree with Drake’s behavior.

Edwards and Wentz started the match with a series of reversals, counters, arm drags, and going to a standoff. Drake tagged himself in and got distracted with Edwards, giving Wentz the opening to catch him with an arm drag. Wentz hit a corkscrew plancha for a two count.

The Rascalz hit their kick combo for two. Edwards came in again and was getting handled by both Rascalz until Drake swept Wentz’s leg on the top rope, dropping him neck-first on the turnbuckle. Wentz got cut off for a while.

Wentz eventually got himself an opening and tagged Xavier, who had a great hot tag on Drake, getting a two count.

Drake went for a double suplex on both Rascalz, but they turned it into a double Canadian Destroyer for a two count when Edwards broke the pin. The finish saw Drake take Edwards’ kendo stick and use it behind Edwards’ back on Xavier to hit Gravy Train and pick up the win.

Really good match for the time that it got and considering that The Rascalz sold most of the match. Edwards and Drake make a good team.

Tessa Blanchard sent a video via Twitter. Blanchard said that she is happy she got suspended — because Gail Kim got what was coming for her. Blanchard said her suspension is over on February 15 and she is going to Mexico to reclaim what is hers.

We got a Rich Swann and Sami Callihan video package recapping their saga so far. Swann explained that when he was 17 years old, he had nothing, no family, no one — but through professional wrestling, he met Callihan, who opened up his home and took Swann in.

Through the years, Swann learned who the real Sami Callihan is. He said that Callihan is the type of person that takes everything away from you if you let him.

Taya Valkyrie was interviewed by Santos. Valkyrie said that come February 15, she is ready for Blanchard. She said it will be a street fight for the Knockouts Championship.

Psycho Clown defeated Fallah Bahh

This match is a teaser of the Team AAA Mexico vs. Team Impact World Cup match for Uncaged. Psycho Clown had all his gimmicks for his entrance. The fans loved Bahh and booed Psycho Clown. Commentary pretended the crowd was split.

The match was pretty bad, even excusing the odd pairing. Bahh used his size to overpower Psycho a couple of times, but he also hit a few speed spots. Psycho did a lot of chops. Psycho hit a foot stomp on the tree of woe. He then hit a tope suicida and a tope con giro back to back, only getting a one count from it.

Bahh countered a plancha with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Bahh went for the Banzai Drop, but Psycho cut him off and hit a powerbomb for two. Psycho went for La Magistral, but Bahh got out and went for a splash, which Psycho dodged. This time, Psycho got La Magistral in for the win.

For some reason, they decided to do a mask rip spot that went nowhere and no one reacted to it.

Johnny Impact and Cage argued backstage. Cage said that tonight he’s going to have to do all the work to keep Johnny healthy for Uncaged. Johnny threatened Cage to not screw him tonight.

Team AAA Mexico were backstage. Psycho Clown hyped Puma King, Hijo del Vikingo, and Aerostar going into the World Cup match.

Killer Kross & Moose defeated Impact World Champion Johnny Impact & Brian Cage

Callis called Kross & Moose’s team the Murder Money Connection.

Moose and Johnny started the match, with Moose showing off to the crowd, doing the Hogan poses, and mocking Cage. Johnny used his speed and agility to overcome Moose’s strength.

Kross came in and Cage tagged himself in. This was a great hoss pairing, with them doing a set of shoulder blocks. But when Cage finally got Kross down, Johnny tagged himself in.

Johnny started getting some offense on Kross, but he got distracted with Moose, allowing Kross to take him out and cut the ring in half on him. Moose and Kross started doing quick tags, wearing down Johnny. Kross went for the Three Amigos, but he cut it off on the third suplex for some heat.

Kross locked in a modified dragon sleeper that Johnny countered into a DDT, but he still couldn’t get to his corner and tag Cage. Eventually, Johnny relied on his parkour to dodge Moose and make it to Cage.

Cage came in with a great hot tag, taking out both Kross and Moose with kicks, knees, and throwing people around. Cage hit a German suplex on Kross, but Moose took him out with a kick. Moose hit Go to Hell, but Johnny got a blind tag and hit a flying corkscrew for a two count.

Moose went for the Game Changer. Johnny blocked it and went for the Disaster Kick, but he accidentally hit Cage instead, so Cage and Johnny got face-to-face, distracting each other and allowing Moose to hit a spear on Johnny, pinning him while Cage simply looked on.

Moose, Kross, and Cage now all have reasons for a title shot — Cage having the clear pin from Homecoming, Kross having a rematch since their last one went to a no contest, and now Moose with the pin.

Overall, this was an up-and-down show for Impact. It started strong with the opening match and it ended strong with the main event, but some of the wrestling in the middle wasn’t as good. We got confirmation of not only the next special, but they announced the next PPV, so we now have a good direction going for all the current stories.

Announced for next week: LAX vs. Lucha Bros for the Tag Team titles, Puma King vs. Sami Callihan, Kiera Hogan vs. Dark Allie, and Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs. Jake & Dave Crist.

In two weeks, Impact presents Uncaged with Johnny Impact defending the World title against Brian Cage, Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard in a street fight for the Knockouts title, and Team AAA Mexico vs. Team Impact in a World Cup match.

Impact Wrestling results: LAX vs. oVe, Brian Cage vs. Moose

The opening video touched upon Killer Kross’ actions at the end of Homecoming, injuring Taya Valkyrie, and Johnny Impact’s reaction from last week’s episode. It also focused on the escalating situation between Rich Swann and Sami Callihan, the cryptic hauntings of Rosemary over Allie and Su Yung, and the current state of the long-awaited reveal of Scarlett Bordeaux’s talent search.

KM (w/ Fallah Bahh) vs. Caleb Konley ended in a no contest

Konley got some control early on when he jumped KM during his entrance. KM was making a comeback when the camera suddenly cut to Brian Cage walking around backstage pushing people and asking for Johnny Impact’s location.

It wasn’t really clear if there was an actual finish since I heard the ring bell go off when Cage was still backstage, but that could have been recorded during a different match, so when Cage attacked KM first, the referee once again called for the bell.

Cage took out KM and Konley. He powerbombed Bahh and hit an F5 on KM. At the end, he turned his attention to referee Johnny Bravo, hitting a big lariat and the Drill Claw. Cage said that all his carnage is on Impact’s hands since Johnny had offered him the next title shot, and now Killer Kross has skipped the line and is getting a shot next week.

Johnny came out to confront Cage, but he was quickly attacked from behind by Kross and Moose. Cage watched from the ring, but he later went down and dragged Johnny to the ring, where he tossed him and was going for an F5, except Kross and Moose were not done and attacked both men, laying them out.

Back from commercial, Cage cut a promo challenging Moose to a match for getting involved in his business.

Josh Mathews and Don Callis were running down the card when Eli Drake came down to the ring for commentary.

Ethan Page defeated Eddie Edwards by DQ

The match was back and forth, but not all that exciting. Edwards initially went around the ring chopping Page — until Page managed to catch Edwards and ram him into the guardrail to get control of the match.

Back from commercial, Edwards made a small comeback, hitting a Frankensteiner on Page and chopping him. Edwards hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Page hit a brainbuster for a near fall. Edwards landed a tope suicida and finally went for Kenny the kendo stick, hitting Page and getting himself disqualified.

Throughout the match, Drake talked about how Edwards doesn’t need to use hardcore moves since he used to have all the tools to be a great wrestler. After the match, Drake cut a promo on Edwards. Drake told Edwards that he used to be champion material and now he is running around getting himself disqualified.

Drake challenged Edwards to bring back the American Wolf. A heel promo, but I can’t help but agree with Drake here.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was a six-man cage match with Abyss, Kevin Northcutt & Legend defeating The Gathering in 2003 when CM Punk and Julio DiNero turned on Raven, giving Abyss the win.

oVe cut a video promo. Sami Callihan told Rich Swann that it’s time to come home. He then turned his attention to Jake and Dave Crist’s opponents for tonight’s main event — LAX. Callihan said that tonight, the only family that walks out is oVe.

The Rascalz did their roundtable comedy skit. They talked about Trey Miguel losing at Homecoming and Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz losing against the Lucha Brothers. They hyped each other up to make a comeback.

Jordynne Grace (w/ Kiera Hogan) defeated Dark Allie (w/ Su Yung)

The start of the match was interrupted by the light fixtures malfunctioning, hinting at Rosemary’s presence. This was a short match that saw Allie get control over Grace early, thanks to distractions from Yung.

Grace would power herself into comebacks, but on several occasions, Allie resorted to some cheap shots to keep control of the match. At the end, Grace simply blocked Allie and hit a pumphandle driver for the win. The match wasn’t much, but it kept Grace looking like someone that can take you out if she gets her hands on you.

After Hogan and Grace had walked to the back, the lights went off and on, replacing Yung with Rosemary. Rosemary offered her hand to Allie, who ran away again.

Back from commercial, Scarlett Bordeaux was backstage announcing the winner of the Smoke Show Talent Search — herself. She put herself over by saying that she is the most over woman in the Knockouts division and hasn’t even stepped inside the ring. She said that her in-ring debut is coming. Kinda underwhelming, but realistically, there isn’t anyone that deserves her managerial services or wouldn’t get overshadowed by her.

Impact Wrestling is returning to Las Vegas for a new set of tapings on February 15, 16, and 17.

Brian Cage defeated Moose

Cage started the match going after Moose and wasn’t even stopped by a rake of the eyes. Moose tried to run away instead, but Cage brought him back to the ring the bad way.

Moose and Cage brawled outside the ring for a bit. They whipped each other onto the ring post. Moose at one point hurt his hand, chopping said ring post. Cage blocked a running kick and turned it into an apron bomb.

Back in the ring, Moose went after Cage’s left leg, working on it for a while, and at one point going for a countout win. Cage managed to make it to the ring.

Cage started to make a comeback when Moose decided he wanted to get into a striking match, only for Moose to hit a dragon screw out of nowhere to regain control. Moose hit a pop-up powerbomb and a senton, which finally fired up Cage enough to make a proper comeback and hit a pop-up powerbomb of his own, followed by a buckle bomb and a discus clothesline for a close two count.

Moose hit a dropkick and Go to Hell, but he only got a two count. Out of desperation, Moose went for a chair shot, but Cage dodged, hit the Drill Claw, and picked up the win.

We got a phone call between Josh Mathews and Taya Valkyrie, who informed us that she is still recovering and won’t be cleared until next week. Valkyrie addressed Tessa Blanchard saying that Valkyrie won the championship thanks to Gail Kim, saying that Blanchard bullied a lot of referees and finally got what was coming to her. She said that next week, she will be in Mexico City and ready to defend the title against Blanchard.

Killer Kross cut a promo, pushing Johnny Impact’s buttons as he brought up what he did to Valkyrie and the fans wanting Johnny to lose to Cage or himself. Kross said that next week, he wins the Impact World Championship.

Blanchard was interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell. She shouted at Mitchell and blamed Gail Kim for her loss. Suddenly, Blanchard started attacking some of the crew until Kim came to stop her, getting into a brawl. Blanchard choked Kim with some cables until the Impact officials stopped them.

Back from commercial, Sonjay Dutt and D’Amore were arguing with Blanchard about putting her hands on officials and suspending her. Blanchard stormed off.

X Division Champion Rich Swann defeated Trey Miguel in a non-title match

Great back-and-forth, short match. It started with both hitting a series of reversals and counters, and there were several arm drags by each until reaching a stand-off. They traded dive attempts until Miguel connected with a tope suicida and finally got the upper hand.

Back in the ring, Swann and Miguel traded slaps and kicks before Swann hit a standing Frankensteiner and a frog splash for a two count. Miguel answered with a heel kick and cutter combo for a two count for himself. Miguel went for the corner 619, but Swann countered. There were several rolling pin attempts and reversals, but at the end, it was Swann hitting a second rope 450 for the win.

After the match, oVe came out. Callihan once again offered Swann the oVe shirt, and once again, Swann didn’t join the team. Before he could answer, LAX came out for the main event.

Impact Tag Team Champions LAX (Santana & Ortiz) w/ Konnan defeated oVe (Jake & Dave Crist) w/ Sami Callihan in a non-title match

This started with both teams brawling outside the ring, with oVe working over Ortiz, as Santana had been taken out during the commercial. oVe worked with many quick tags and hit several double-team moves on Ortiz, getting a couple of two counts in the process.

Ortiz finally cut Dave Crist off on a spot, dropping him over the ropes and getting a quick opening to tag Santana. Ortiz and Santana got a couple of tag moves in and double tope suicidas on both Crist brothers.

All four men got in the ring, with oVe hitting a superplex and powerbomb combo for a great near fall. LAX responded with a cutter and codebreaker combo on Jake Crist, followed with a double inverted suplex for the win.

The Lucha Brothers congratulated LAX backstage, telling them it was a good match, to which Ortiz casually offered Pentagon & Fenix another “ass whooping.” Konnan shouted at Ortiz as Impact went off the air.

Overall, a good show for story development since we’re seeing a lot of rivalries start to escalate to a whole new level. Inside the ring, the show started off somewhat slow, but it managed to close with two good matches.

Next week, Impact returns to Mexico City’s Fronton Mexico. Johnny Impact defends the Impact World title against Killer Kross, and Taya Valkyrie makes her return.

Impact Wrestling results: Fallout from Homecoming

Impact Wrestling’s simulcast on the Pursuit Channel and Twitch began as the fallout from Homecoming took center stage. The episode opened with a video featuring all the highlights of Homecoming, emphasizing Killer Kross’ attack on Taya Valkyrie.

Johnny Impact came down to the ring to “We Want Cage” chants. Johnny said that Valkyrie has been in the hospital for what Kross did to her. Impact talked about what he would do to Kross, but Brian Cage interrupted and came down to the ring too.

Cage said things are not over and that everyone knows that Cage had Johnny beat. Cage wanted a rematch right there, right now. Johnny wanted to argue that his wife is in the hospital, but Cage wouldn’t have it.

Kross came out next. He talked trash to Johnny, pushing his buttons by saying that he will send Valkyrie back to the hospital when she comes back. Johnny had enough and superkicked Cage and dived on Kross, but Cage recovered and hit a huge lariat on Johnny. Kross clotheslined Cage, but Cage got right up. Kross, surprised, walked out instead of getting in Cage’s way. Cage posed with the championship. Good segment — Cage looked like a beast.

Backstage, Cage was still looking for his rematch. Johnny asked Cage to let him take care of Kross tonight and Cage can get the next title shot. Johnny straight up accepted that Cage had the win at Homecoming.

Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

This was a really great match, especially for the time it got. These two teams are no strangers to each other, so they meshed up nicely here. The match started with a series of reversals, counters, and quick tags. The Rascalz hit the Bronco Buster on Pentagon, only to have Fenix fly out of nowhere and hit a double cutter.

Back from commercial, Fenix and Wentz were in the ring and continued the fast-paced action. The Rascalz hit their kick combo that ends with a double foot stomp for a two count. Fenix made a comeback, superkicking both Rascalz. Pentagon took care of Xavier on one side, and Fenix dove on Wentz on the other.

All four wrestlers continued taking turns, kicking each other one by one. Pentagon started chasing the Fear Factor, but The Rascalz countered and were setting up the Hot Fire Flame when Fenix came back and cut them off with another set of cutters. Pentagon hit the Gory Bomb and Fear Factor combo on both Rascalz to take the win, pinning Xavier.

Both teams embraced after the match.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week was the very first Ultimate X match with Michael Shane defeating Frankie Kazarian and Chris Sabin.

Back from commercial, we got footage of Kross cutting a promo after the Homecoming main event. He claimed that Johnny had a plan to escape with the championship, showing the real type of man he is. After the video, Kross was with McKenzie Mitchell. Kross said that Johnny doesn’t even know how to hurt him in tonight’s main event. Kross said that tonight, he beats Johnny.

Back in the ring, Josh Mathews brought out new Impact X-Division Champion Rich Swann. Swann talked about how the X-Division changed the business many years ago, and so now he represents the “No Limits” division.

Sami Callihan came out to interrupt. Callihan talked about the long history between Swann and himself. Callihan gave Swann an oVe t-shirt, inviting him to join the group. Willie Mack came out and brawled with Callihan a bit, but Swann stopped them. This led to Callihan vs. Mack

Willie Mack defeated Sami Callihan

The match was already half-way started as we came back from commercial. Both men exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring, but soon after, Callihan tricked Mack to the outside, getting him caught in the apron skirt. They fought outside for a bit, with Mack landing a huge apron bomb. Callihan came back, whipping Mack into the ring steps.

They fought to the top of the ramp — where Callihan hit an ugly piledriver, trying to win via countout, but Mack made it back in on nine. Mack started his comeback, fending off Callihan with kicks and strikes. Mack hit a Samoan drop and standing moonsault combo for a two count. Callihan hit a huge lariat for another two count.

Mack and Callihan kept exchanging near falls after some big moves before finally starting to go for their respective finishers. They traded some pin reversals, but when Callihan went for the piledriver, Mack countered and rolled up Callihan for the win. Good match — somewhat better than the Homecoming one.

LAX were celebrating at their clubhouse. Konnan admitted that he was wrong and that LAX did the right thing and they and the Lucha Brothers kept it together.

Scarlett Bordeaux came down to the ring for a strip show. Bordeaux announced that next week, she reveals the winner of her talent search. Bordeaux said that to celebrate the debut on Pursuit Channel, she was going to take off her robe. Before she could get to it, the Desi Hit Squad interrupted.

Gama Singh implored Bordeaux to save the strip show for the winners of the talent search, since he thinks that the Desi Hit Squad will win. Singh argued that America doesn’t deserve to see Scarlett naked.

Suddenly, Scott Steiner interrupted and came down to the ring. Steiner put over the Pursuit Channel and said that the Desi Hit Squad ruined the night for him and Nashville. Raj Singh and Rohit Raju tried jumping Steiner, but Big Poppa Pump took care of both of them.

Steiner took a chair and sat down in the middle of the ring as Bordeaux did her strip dance. All and all, this was a weird segment to have, it’s a way to show that they can be edgier on Pursuit and nothing else.

Back from commercial, we got footage of Gail Kim from Homecoming. She said that Tessa Blanchard got what she deserved.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Cali Collins

This was a squash match. Blanchard came in strong, and when Collins managed to dodge Blanchard and get a kick in, Blanchard didn’t feel it and went back to taking out Collins. Blanchard went for the Buzzsaw DDT, but changed it to Gail Kim’s Eat Defeat for the win.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards was with McKenzie Mitchell. Edwards celebrated his win over Moose and said that he is ready to move on. Eli Drake interrupted him, asking Edwards if he is sure he wants to take over the “hardcore” flag after what Drake did to Tommy Dreamer and Abyss.

Allie and Su Yung walked around somewhere in the Undead Realm. Allie talked about Rosemary’s return, when suddenly they saw a message by Rosemary, written on a casket. The message read “One more chance…rejoin the shadow…”

Killer Kross defeated Impact World Champion Johnny Impact in a non-title, no DQ match

This started with Johnny taking the mount on Kross, but he couldn’t break the guard. Kross countered and took Johnny’s leg out. Kross started working over Johnny, tossing him to the outside as he hit a big lariat while Johnny sat on the top rope.

Johnny and Kross brawled outside the ring for a while as Johnny rammed Kross to the guardrails. Johnny brought out a table and a chair, but there was enough time for Kross to recover and punch the chair out of Johnny’s hand. Kross put the chair on Johnny’s neck and rammed it to the ring post.

Kross now brought up the steel steps, looking to hit a con-chair-to against them, but Johnny managed to dodge it. Johnny hit Kross with the chair, then started burying Kross under more chairs, where he hit a moonsault from the steel steps while carrying a chair himself. Johnny seemed to hit his face on the steel steps on his way down.

Johnny was regaining his breath, but suddenly, Kross just stood up like nothing. They tossed all the chairs to the ring and went at it again inside the ring. They traded strikes before Impact started ramming Kross face-first into a chair. Johnny hit Kross with a crazy flying chair shot. Johnny once again buried Kross under chairs, this time looking for Starship Pain, chair in hand.

Suddenly, Moose ran down to save Kross, throwing Johnny into the table that was outside the ring. Moose tossed Johnny back in the ring. Kross then locked on the Kross Jacket for the win as Johnny passed out.

Kross and Moose celebrated in the ring over the choked out body of Johnny Impact. This was a really good match, different from what we’ve seen Johnny do since winning the championship.

Overall, this was a good episode with a hiccup right there during the Bordeaux strip show. Inside the ring, the show was great with three great matches and a well-crafted squash match. Story-wise, we seem to have a good direction going with the World title, and developing stories with the rest of the championships, plus what seems to be a colliding story as Edwards’ hardcore path is crossing with Eli Drake’s anti-hardcore quest.

Impact Wrestling results: Homecoming go-home show

This week’s opening video had a special emphasis on Sami Callihan and Rich Swann’s efforts to not have each other’s partners fight. The video also featured the top feuds going into Sunday’s Homecoming pay-per-view.

Josh Mathews did a voiceover bidding farewell to Pop TV and announcing their move to the Pursuit Channel starting at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, January 11.

Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz defeated Sami Callihan, Dave Crist, Jake Crist, Matt Sydal & Ethan Page

Miguel and Jake Crist started the match with a series of counters and reversals. There were quick tags to Xavier and Callihan, and once again, after one move, Wentz got tagged in. Swann tagged in with a double axe handle. Mack came in and within a minute, all members of the babyface team had been legal.

Everyone got in the ring and faced off. They started brawling around the ring, leaving Miguel and Callihan inside, with the latter dropping Miguel with a huge lariat and then another one on the apron. Miguel countered and hit a rana to the outside, starting a sequence where everyone did dives to the outside one by one, ending with Xavier’s Space Flying Tiger Drop.

Miguel went to the top rope, but Jake Crist caught him and hit a cutter from the top to the floor on top of everyone. We got “This is awesome” chants.

Back from commercial, Callihan worked over Miguel in the ring. Dave Crist tagged in and worked over Miguel’s legs for a bit. Sydal came in and choked Miguel until he reached the ropes. Finally, Page came in, but Miguel managed to make a small comeback and make it to his corner.

Swann came in with the hot tag and took out everyone, including a double cutter on Callihan and Dave Crist and a Phoenix Splash on Page for a two count. Mack tagged in and was going for a piledriver, but Callihan came in and hit a big kick — followed by everyone taking turns to hit their finishers. Page finally got a two count on Mack.

Mack took out Page to the floor, only for Dave Crist to get a blind tag, but Mack caught him with a top rope stunner for the pin.

After the match, Callihan attacked Mack with his bat. oVe set up a table in the ring and hit the All Seeing Eye on Mack through the table. Swann dragged himself to protect Mack’s body, but oVe walked away, letting Swann live another day.

We got a video package recounting the complete Eddie Edwards and Moose saga.

Eli Drake came to the ring to address his Monster’s Ball match with Abyss at Homecoming. Drake brought up that he is being forced into the Monster’s Ball match by Impact’s management, but he has already taken out Joseph Park — so Abyss is not coming back.

Drake threatened that if Abyss makes it to Homecoming, he’ll be forced to become what he hates and take out Abyss, because he is “hardcore.”

Tommy Dreamer came down with a chair. He hit a DDT on Drake, but as he went for a Pillmanizer, the lights went out and Raven appeared. Raven and Dreamer went face-to-face, but instead of fighting, they teamed up against Drake as they ran him out. ECW will never die.

Back from commercial, Gama Singh introduced the Desi Hit Squad and dedicated this match to Scarlett Bordeaux. She came out to watch the match from the ramp.

Fallah Bahh & KM defeated The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju & Raj Singh)

The match started with the Desi Hit Squad jumping Bahh and KM, tossing the latter outside and going for Bahh inside the ring. Thanks to some dirty tactics, Raju and Singh got some offense and double team moves every time that Bahh showed signs of a comeback.

Singh went for a scoop slam, but the weight of Bahh was too much and his knees buckled, allowing Bahh to escape and tag in KM.

KM came in strong until getting taken out after Singh raked his eyes. Bahh recovered and hit a flying crossbody on both Desi Hit Squad members, followed by a Banzai Drop on Singh for the pin. Bordeaux seemed impressed before leaving to the back.

Pentagon Jr. and Fenix cut a promo on LAX saying that both teams are similar, but history shows that when Konnan is not with Santana and Ortiz, they tend to lose. Pentagon said that last time, Santana pushed him and thus all respect is out the window. Fenix said that come January 6, they’re winning the Tag Team titles. Well, this escalated out of nowhere.

Dark Allie (w/ Su Yung) defeated Kiera Hogan

Hogan started the match all fired up going after Allie with a series of kicks and a bulldog for a one count. Hogan hit a tope suicida on Yung when Allie dodged the attack, but the distraction allowed Allie to blindside Hogan and get control of the match. Allie’s offense was mostly stomps and clotheslines.

Hogan made a comeback, but she couldn’t finish up Allie, who actually landed a codebreaker out of nowhere for the pin. This was a sloppy match.

After the match, Allie and Yung attacked Hogan in the corner until Jordynne Grace came out for the save. Grace hit a Samoan slam on Allie, a sit-down powerbomb on Yung, and finished them off with some running knees. This story just took a weird direction — Jordynne Grace is not someone that should be fighting for souls right now.

We got a video from “earlier today” with Trevor Lee going to Impact management asking for a match.

LAX cut a promo from outside the venue. Ortiz said all they wanted was to be pro wrestlers and brought up that Santana and he have always had each other’s back. They talked about losing when Konnan wasn’t there, but they need to prove it to everyone and themselves that they can get the job done with or without Konnan. Great babyface promos by both.

Killer Kross defeated Trevor Lee

This started with both men locking up, with Kross overpowering Lee to get control and Lee reversing out of Kross’ locks. Kross eventually was too much for Lee and started tossing him around in the corner. He hit the Doomsday Saito and locked in the Kross Jacket to choke out Lee. A squash match that reminds us of Kross’ dominance.

Kross then wished Johnny Impact luck against Brian Cage at Homecoming. Kross ordered the timekeeper to hold a cinder block to Lee’s head as Kross punched the block into pieces. The timekeeper ran off and Lee was written off Impact Wrestling.

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated Impact World Champion Johnny Impact & Brian Cage

Cage and Fenix started the match — a speed and power matchup with Cage catching Fenix’s every move by using his strength alone. Pentagon came in and Cage also manhandled him until Impact blind tagged himself into the match.

Impact did a good job at first, working on Pentagon and dodging his attacks, but out of nowhere, Pentagon hit a slingblade and a backstabber and turned things around. After some offense by Pentagon, Cage was now the one with a blind tag, but the Lucha Brothers cut Cage off before he could take control.

Cage and Pentagon fought outside the ring as Fenix went for a suicide dive, but Impact cut him off with a kick and hit an Asai moonsault on Pentagon. Fenix recovered and hit a tornillo to take everyone out.

Back from commercial, Impact and Cage continued blind tagging each other as they worked over Fenix. Impact hit a huge Spanish Fly from the top rope for a near fall that Pentagon broke up. Pentagon hit the Pentagon Driver on Impact, but Cage saved him from the pin.

Everyone got in the ring and traded kicks, with Cage hitting Impact with a discus clothesline by mistake, leaving Impact open for Pentagon and Fenix to hit the foot stomp/Fear Factor combination for the win. Fenix got a clean pin over the champion. This match did a good job displaying Pentagon and Fenix’s synchronicity and the tension between Impact and Cage.

After the match, Cage and Impact blamed each other for losing. They pushed each other’s buttons until they came to blows, with them having a big pull-apart with security and the locker room coming out.

The show closed with Homecoming’s cold opening video. A lot of nostalgia footage from the Asylum years.

Overall, this was a good go-home show that touched on all previously announced matches and finished building up Homecoming card.
