The Usos vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Riddle is currently not planned for WWE Hell in a Cell.
Riddle and Nakamura earned a title shot for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships by defeating the Usos via disqualification in a non-title match on Raw. Our own Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the match will not take place on Sunday’s pay-per-view, however.
“The Usos match with Nakamura and Riddle was not scheduled for Sunday’s pay-per-view. Now, it could be on Sunday’s pay-per-view,” Meltzer said. “They are doing the match, the plan was to do it in Vegas (Money in the Bank), which of course if you recall, the plan for Vegas was Roman Reigns against Riddle. Now, Roman Reigns is not necessarily off that show but Roman Reigns and Riddle is probably off the show but they can always change their mind, they can change everything tomorrow.”
WWE Hell in a Cell takes place Sunday, June 5 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The lineup for the card is as follows:

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match
Handicap match: Bobby Lashley vs. Omos & MVP

WWE has announced that The Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley) will face AJ Styles, Finn Balor & Liv Morgan in a six-person mixed tag team match at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. The pay-per-view is being held at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
The Judgment Day formed when Priest helped Edge defeat Styles at WrestleMania 38 this April. Ripley was then added to the faction earlier this month. Edge and Styles faced off at WrestleMania Backlash in a match where Priest was barred from ringside, but interference by Ripley led to Edge again defeating Styles.
Balor and Morgan have helped Styles even the odds against The Judgment Day. Morgan and Ripley are former tag team partners.
Morgan defeated Ripley in a singles match on Raw tonight. Ripley was distracted by Styles laying out Priest at ringside after Priest interfered in the match.
Here’s the updated card for Hell in a Cell:
Hell in a Cell match: Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins
Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match

In his hometown of Chicago, Mustafa Ali is getting a shot at the United States Championship.
Theory vs. Ali for the United States title has been added to this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The match was announced after Theory got an underhanded victory against Ali on tonight’s episode of Raw.
Ali faced Tommaso Ciampa on Raw tonight in a match where Ali could earn a future United States title shot if he won. Ali ended up winning by disqualification when Theory attacked him. After beating Ali down, Theory said they should just have their title match tonight.
Theory continued to attack Ali through a commercial break, but Ali chose to fight on despite being hurt. Theory retained after hitting the ATL on Ali.
Adam Pearce made his way out after the match and informed Theory that, even though Vince McMahon was impressed with Theory’s tactics, McMahon has booked a fair fight between Theory and Ali for Hell in a Cell.
The feud between Theory and Ali began when Ali returned to WWE television on April 25. Ali had publicly requested to be released from his WWE contract in January.
On last week’s episode of WWE After the Bell, Ali opened up about returning to WWE after his release request. Ali said he’s learned that he has to control his passion.

A Raw Women’s Championship match has been announced for WWE Hell in a Cell.
Asuka defeated Becky Lynch in a number one contender’s match on this week’s WWE Raw episode to earn a title shot at Belair at the June 5 Hell in a Cell event.
As Raw began, a six-pack challenge was announced for a number one contender’s match, with Lynch, Asuka, Sasha Banks, Naomi, Doudrop, and Nikki A.S.H. set to compete. It was announced during the show that Banks and Naomi had left the arena, and the match was changed to Asuka vs. Lynch.
Belair was on commentary during the bout, and Lynch repeatedly tried to bait her into interfering in the match. As Belair jumped on the apron, Lynch tried to use Asuka’s parasol as a weapon, but Asuka spat green mist on Lynch and rolled her up for the pin to become number one contender.
Two matches are official for Hell in a Cell. Here is the lineup so far:
WWE Hell in a Cell, Sunday, June 5, 8 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Roman Reigns’ summer schedule.
Meltzer reports that Reigns is off next month’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view but will be wrestling at other PPVs this summer. Reigns is still advertised for Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, and Clash at the Castle.
Though Reigns has been removed from the advertising for several weeks of TV this summer, Meltzer notes that Reigns will be working some of those dates.
“Basically, Roman Reigns is not gonna be on every pay-per-view. He’s off the Chicago show [Hell in a Cell], [which is] the next pay-per-view on June 5. He will be doing pay-per-views this summer. Even though he was removed from all the advertising after June 24 I believe it is — yeah, June 24 in Austin. He’s been removed from all advertising from house shows, TVs, everything except for the two stadium shows [Money in the Bank and SummerSlam], but he will do TVs to build up those shows. So it’s not like he’s not gonna be on TV, but he’s not gonna be doing a lot of dates. And from what I understand, the shows he will be on, eventually — probably sooner than later — they’ll start advertising him. So the dates will be known, it’s not like it’s gonna be like they’re gonna put him on TV without advertising him. But that’s the basic situation.”
WWE.com has removed Reigns from their graphic for Hell in a Cell. The graphic now features Cody Rhodes, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley, Edge, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre.
Hell in a Cell is taking place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on Sunday, June 5.
Reigns is the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 last month to unify the WWE Championship and Universal Championship.
At WrestleMania Backlash this past Sunday, Reigns & The Usos defeated Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro in a six-man tag match. The finish of the match was Reigns pinning Riddle.
The night before WrestleMania Backlash, Reigns said at a house show in Trenton, New Jersey that he’s starting to enter into “a new phase” in his career and doesn’t know if he’ll be back in Trenton again. He thanked the crowd for their years of support.
Hell in a Cell is officially set to make its return this June.

This will be the second straight year that Hell in a Cell has taken place in June. Prior to 2021, the show had been a fall PPV.

Edge closed this week’s SmackDown by challenging Seth Rollins to a Hell in a Cell match for Crown Jewel.
At the end of tonight’s show, Rollins entered the ring and demanded Edge come out and accept his challenge, bringing up his family and children. Edge emerged from a car backstage and stormed to the ring, taking out Rollins with a spear. He grabbed a piece of chair and went to apply a crossface, but Rollins escaped before he could. Edge then challenged Seth to the Hell in a Cell match.
After the show ended, WWE confirmed that the match would take place at Crown Jewel on October 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Although Rollins defeated Edge at WWE’s SmackDown show at Madison Square Garden last month, he has continued to challenge Edge, refuting the label of being “Edge-lite”. On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Rollins entered Edge’s home in North Carolina while his wife Beth Phoenix and their children were out of the house, going through their items and eating their food.
This would be the third match in the Edge vs. Rollins feud. Edge won the first match at SummerSlam in August. Rollins won the second match the following month at Madison Square Garden, with Edge being stretchered out after Rollins pinned him following the curb stomp.
Tonight’s Raw featured the show’s first Hell in a Cell match since 1998.
In the main event of tonight’s Raw, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Xavier Woods in a non-title Hell in a Cell match. Lashley got the win by submitting Woods with the Hurt Lock after hitting a spear.
Lashley continued to attack Woods after tonight’s main event. He put Woods in the Hurt Lock again and had him against the cage as Woods’ New Day stablemate Kofi Kingston watched on from outside of the cell. MVP had gotten in the cell following the match and locked the door to prevent Kingston from getting in and saving Woods. Kingston was yelling for Lashley to let Woods go as tonight’s show went off the air.
The Lashley vs. Woods Hell in a Cell match was set up when Kingston and Woods interrupted Lashley and MVP during tonight’s opening segment. It was also announced tonight that Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against Kingston at Money in the Bank on Sunday, July 18.
This was the second straight night that Lashley wrestled in a Hell in a Cell match. He retained the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match at last night’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
There were two Hell in a Cell matches (Lashley vs. McIntyre for the WWE Championship and Bianca Belair vs. Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship) at the Hell in a Cell PPV. A Hell in a Cell match also took place on SmackDown this past Friday, with Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio’s Universal Championship match being moved up to that show after originally being scheduled for the Hell in a Cell PPV.
Hell in a Cell takes place tonight and is WWE’s final pay-per-view before next month’s return to touring.
The WWE Championship will be on the line inside of Hell in a Cell as Bobby Lashley defends against Drew McIntyre. If McIntyre loses, he won’t be able to challenge for the WWE Championship again while Lashley is still champion.
Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio were originally supposed to face off in a Hell in a Cell match for the Universal Championship tonight, but that match was moved up and instead took place on SmackDown this past Friday night.
With Reigns vs. Mysterio off the PPV, Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship defense against Bayley will now be a Hell in a Cell match.
Also set for tonight are: Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship, Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler, Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn.
Tonight’s main card begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time. There will also be a pre-show starting at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Natalya vs. Mandy Rose has been added to the WWE Hell in a Cell kickoff pre-show.
Six matches have been announced for Hell in a Cell. There is usually a pre-show match at 7:30 p.m. with the main show at 8 p.m. Odds are from Betonline.ag:
Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro: They had one of the highlight matches at WrestleMania so this should be great. Cesaro opened as the favorite but fans are backing Rollins with the idea of 50/50 booking and he’s now the -170 favorite. They had been running angles for this for weeks so even though it was a late addition it was likely always in the plans.
Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler: With the gimmick, expect more voodoo than wrestling. Bliss is a -1600 to -1000 favorite
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn: These two always have great matches. Owens -350 favorite. This was a late addition but they had been running angles.
Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the Raw women’s title. Also likely to be a good match. Ripley is the -250 favorite.
Bianca Belair vs. Bayley in a Hell in a Cell match for the Smackdown women’s title. One would expect this to also be a strong match with Belair a -200 favorite.
Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match for the WWE title. If McIntyre doesn’t win, he can never challenge for the title as long as Lashley has it. The way I’d read this is there is nobody else out there for Lashley other than Brock Lesnar. There’s no deal at this moment, but obviously they can make a deal. If that’s the direction, Lashley should win. If not, they’d better have a big outsider to bring in for Lashley or else McIntyre should win. I suppose they could go with Bill Goldberg or Bray Wyatt. There aren’t a ton of viable options. Lashley at last look was a -315 favorite.

A few notes about the biggest things of interest this past week with combat sports. Earlier today, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was the No. 6 most searched in the U.S. at 50,000 and Jermall Charlo was No. 7 at 20,000. Hell in a Cell wasn’t listed yet but usually WWE PPV’s of this type wind up about 200,000, although WrestleMania Backlash actually trended less than usual and below AEW’s Double or Nothing. For yesterday, Anderson Silva was No,. 9 at 100,000 and the UFC Fight Night was No. 15 with 50,000, which is near the bottom for this year for a UFC show. Nothing else cracked the top 20 all week.
For last night’s UFC show main event, judge Michael Bell gave the last four rounds to Chan Sung Jung over Dan Ige. Derek Clearly gave the last four to The Zombie. Sal D’Amato gave rounds two through four to Zombie. 100% of reporter scores went to him so there was little doubt. Most gave Zombie four rounds, some three like the judges so no controversy.
This is not Neilsen ratings but it is a direct measure of millions of homes on Friday night. AEW was up 5.2% in hours watched (essentially viewers in Nielsen) from the week before while Smackdown was down 5.3%. However, the Nielsen fast nationals had Smackdown up 4% and logic would tell you with Roman Reigns vs Rey Mysterio in a Hell in a Cell match that it should be up.

The card for Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is now up to six announced matches.
It was announced on SmackDown tonight that Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn have both been added to the card for Sunday’s PPV. Neither match will be taking place inside of Hell in a Cell.
Cesaro has defeated Rollins twice in singles matches this year. He defeated Rollins at WrestleMania 37 in April and on an episode of SmackDown in May.
There was an angle on SmackDown four weeks ago where Cesaro was stretchered out after being attacked by Rollins. Cesaro then returned last week and got revenge by attacking Rollins. Rollins was left in his underwear after Cesaro ripped off his suit.
Tonight’s SmackDown featured a segment where Cesaro was interviewed backstage. Rollins interrupted the interview but told Cesaro that he was only there to have a conversation. Rollins said Cesaro disgusts him. He said everything Cesaro does and everything Cesaro stands for is a disgrace. Rollins said Cesaro doesn’t deserve a single ounce of respect. Rollins told Cesaro that he’ll put him in his place on Sunday.
Cesaro responded by saying that he respects Rollins as a competitor. But as Cesaro got up to leave, he pushed Rollins down. The push made Rollins fall over in his chair.
Owens and Zayn also faced off at WrestleMania 37. Owens defeated Zayn in that match.
Owens vs. Zayn was made for Hell in a Cell after Zayn cost Owens & Big E a tag match against Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez on SmackDown tonight. Zayn, who was on commentary for the match, distracted Owens on the outside. Owens then went back into the ring and was given the Nigerian Nail by Azeez. Azeez pinned Owens to get the win.
Azeez gave Owens another Nigerian Nail after the tag match. Zayn laughed as he watched Owens gasp for air.
Owens later went to authority figures Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and told them that he wanted to face Zayn. Pearce announced the match for Hell in a Cell.
Here’s the updated lineup for Hell in a Cell:
Hell in a Cell match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Drew McIntyre (if McIntyre loses, he can’t challenge for the WWE Championship again while Lashley is still champion)
Hell in a Cell match: SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Bayley
Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Charlotte Flair
With Roman Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio off the Hell in a Cell card, a new Hell in a Cell match has been made for Sunday’s pay-per-view.
It was announced on SmackDown tonight that Bianca Belair will now be defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley in a Hell in a Cell match on Sunday. Belair vs. Bayley was first announced for Hell in a Cell two weeks ago, but it wasn’t set to take place inside of Hell in a Cell at that time.
Belair cut a promo on SmackDown tonight and challenged Bayley to make their match on Sunday a Hell in a Cell match. Bayley then came out to the ring and tried to attack Belair. Belair was getting the better of a brawl with Bayley, but Bayley turned the tide by grabbing Belair’s hair and sending her into the barricade.
After laying out Belair in the ring, Bayley stood above Belair and posed with Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Reigns was originally supposed to defend his Universal Championship against Mysterio in a Hell in a Cell match on Sunday, but that match was moved up to tonight’s SmackDown.
Here’s the updated card for Hell in a Cell:
Hell in a Cell match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Drew McIntyre (if McIntyre loses, he can’t challenge for the WWE Championship again while Lashley is still champion)
Hell in a Cell match: SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Bayley
Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Charlotte Flair

We’ve got a busy weekend. Garrett Gonzales and I will be doing today’s show before Smackdown and AEW, so we will cover those shows tomorrow night, plus Sunday is Hell in a Cell.
It would appear that SummerSlam has about 33,000 tickets out as of early afternoon.
Smackdown tonight at 8 p.m. lists Roman Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio in a Universal title Hell in a Cell match, Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez vs. Kevin Owens & Big E, Otis vs. Angelo Dawkins, and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin for the crown.
The Mysterio vs. Reigns match tonight is rescheduling the PPV match. It’s just a decision they made. We are told that Reigns is not wrestling on the PPV so this is not an angle to build a rematch. The Mysterios are also not wrestling the Usos on Sunday either. The match and finish planned for Sunday moved up two days.

If you watched last night’s PFL robbery where Gleison Tibau, who most feel didn’t win a round, won a split decision somehow, judges Cardo Uro and Dave Tirelli gave him rounds one and three. Eric Colon, the third judge, gave Tibau round three as well. On the show, they have a computer score, a fan score, and scores by Kenny Florian and Randy Couture and all gave MacDonald all three rounds. He was visibly stunned and the announcers said that was no way you could justify that result.

OTHER NOTES
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. missed weight today for his boxing match in Guadalajara against Anderson Silva. He weighed 184.4 pounds in a fight contracted at 182. Chavez must forfeit $100,000 to Silva. Chavez had a great explanation. He thought he was fighting at 185 since Slva always fights at 185. Well, he does, but the idea that a guy doesn’t know the weight he’s contracted to make is not plausible.
TMart Promotions convention in Charlotte at the Hilton University Place 7/22 to 7/25 announced Jackie McAuley, who was a close friend of Andre the Giant, will be coming and bringing Andre memorabilia. She and her then-husband, former referee Frenchy Bernard, lived with Andre, cooked for him, and helped take care of his property.

The card for Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view has a new addition.
It was announced on tonight’s episode of Raw that Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler will take place at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. The match comes after a storyline where supernatural occurrences have caused Baszler to lose matches over the last several weeks.
During an Alexa’s Playground segment last Monday, Bliss denied that she was responsible for what had been happening during Baszler’s matches. Bliss wanted Baszler to apologize for calling Bliss’ doll Lilly “just a stupid doll,” but Baszler doubled down and stomped on Lilly.
After Baszler stomped on Lilly, the video screens at the ThunderDome started to go out and fire pyro went off as Baszler headed to the back. When Baszler got to the back, no one else was there. Baszler ended up in a room where she could see in a mirror that Lilly was behind her. But when Baszler would turn around, Lilly wasn’t there. Baszler kicked the mirror but could still see Lilly in its broken pieces. The lights then went out and we heard Baszler screaming as the show went off the air.
Tonight’s Raw opened with Bliss saying that she had received a lot of “strongly worded complaints” for what Lilly did last week. Bliss said that even she was taken aback by how far it went. Bliss said that she had put Lilly in timeout. Baszler’s tag team partner Nia Jax then confronted Bliss and told her that she’d be seeing Baszler at Hell in a Cell.
Jax asked Bliss what happened to her and said they used to be friends. Jax told Bliss that she needed to stop interfering with her career and messing with her friends. Bliss said she didn’t appreciate Jax coming to her playground with these vicious and disgusting allegations. Jax then challenged Bliss to face her on tonight’s Raw.
Bliss vs. Jax ended with Bliss winning by disqualification when Reginald broke up a pin after Bliss hit Twisted Bliss. Following the match, Bliss appeared to hypnotize Reginald.
Here’s the updated card for Hell in a Cell:
Hell in a Cell match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Drew McIntyre (if McIntyre loses, he can’t challenge for the WWE Championship again while Lashley is still champion)
Hell in a Cell match: Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against Rey Mysterio
Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Charlotte Flair
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Bayley
Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio inside Hell in a Cell is official for next Sunday.
WWE confirmed this afternoon that the two will meet at the pay-per-view, which takes place on June 20. Paul Heyman, in a promo that took place on Talking Smack, accepted the Universal title match on behalf of Roman Reigns. Mysterio had issued the challenge on SmackDown but attacked Reigns before he could respond.
Mysterio and Reigns started their feud on last week’s SmackDown, when Reigns attacked Mysterio and his son Dominik after they looked to defeat the Usos for a second time on the same show to retain the SmackDown Tag Team titles. Reigns attacked Dominik after he attacked Rey, laying them both out.
On Friday, Reigns cut off Rey when Dominik came back with a kendo stick. Still, Reigns cut off Dominik and powerbombed him from the ring to the floor. The show closed with Reigns taking out Rey while he was checking on Dominik.
