WWE SmackDown live results: Women’s title match, Goldberg appears

The build to the Elimination Chamber continues on tonight’s SmackDown from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will defend her title against Naomi tonight. Last week, Naomi demanded a match with Sonya Deville because Deville cost her the women’s Royal Rumble. Adam Pearce agreed but gave Naomi a title shot instead.

Later that night, Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey chose Flair as her WrestleMania 38 opponent. Rousey had a brief confrontation with Flair and Deville in the ring. It ended with Rousey putting Deville in an armbar.

Last week, Goldberg returned and challenged Universal Champion Roman Reigns to a title match at Elimination Chamber. WWE has announced that Goldberg will be appearing on tonight’s show.

Natalya is set to go one-on-one with Aliyah in a “Dungeon Rules” match tonight. The match can only end via pinfall or submission.

Plus, there will be an In-Zayn segment with Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs appearing as Sami Zayn’s guests. Nakamura will defend his Intercontinental title against Zayn on SmackDown next Friday.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

They recapped the Ronda Rousey-Charlotte Flair segment from last week.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves are the commentators tonight. Cole noted Pat McAfee’s at the Superbowl this weekend.

Sonya Deville Segment

This was a fine opening segment.

Sonya Deville was already standing in the ring to start SmackDown. She recapped Rousey attacking her last week. However, Deville doesn’t care if it’s Rousey or Naomi. There will be consequences. Deville then announced that she was fining Rousey $100,000 and suspending her indefinitely.

Adam Pearce interrupted and read an email from Mr. McMahon. McMahon claimed he hates officials that abuse their power. McMahon declined Deville’s petition to suspend Rousey. He added that Deville couldn’t lay a hand on Naomi. If Deville interferes in the main event, then her job is in serious jeopardy.

Naomi made her way to the ring. She pointed out that McMahon said Deville couldn’t lay a hand on her. He never said anything about Naomi laying a hand on Deville. Naomi then slapped Deville in the face.

Cole and Graves ran down the lineup for tonight.

Los Lotharios defeated New Day (10:21)

New Day and Los Lotharios had a good fast-paced opener.

They recapped New Day defeating Los Lotharios from last week.

In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed Los Lotharios. She called them two of the most handsome men in WWE. They promised to win because they’re the lethal lovers. The ring announcer referred to them as the Lethal Lovers Los Lotharios.

Los Lotharios introduced a Kiss Cam and kissed a woman in the front row on her cheek.

New Day had the early advantage, but Los Lotharios quickly took over. They isolated Kofi Kingston in their corner, but Kingston fought back. Big E then hit a big splash on Humberto on the apron. Angel tried to get involved, but Big E sent him to the floor.

Big E launched Kingston over the top rope onto the heels at ringside.

Back from the break, the heels were firmly in control. Big E recovered and caught Angel with a belly-to-belly suplex. Kingston and Humberto got the tag at the same time. Kingston ran wild and sent Angel to the floor. He followed up with the boom drop on Humberto.

Kingston went for trouble in paradise, but Humberto avoided it. Big E and Kingston went for Midnight Hour, but Angel attacked Kingston. Kingston caught Angel with a hurricanrana off the apron. New Day then hit a powerbomb/double foot stomp on Humberto for a near fall.

Los Lotharios regained control. Angel hit a moonsault to the floor on Big E, and Humberto hit a moonsault on Kingston for a near fall. Kingston fought back and caught Humberto with trouble in paradise. The finish came when Kingston went for a sunset flip, but Angel reversed and rolled him up for the win.

In the back, Megan Morant tried to interview The Viking Raiders. However, The Usos jumped the Raiders and beat them down.

Roman Reigns Sit Down Interview

Michael Cole interviewed Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman in the back.

They recapped Heyman explaining his reasons for turning on Brock Lesnar and Goldberg’s return.

Cole mentioned that last week featured the return of an icon. Heyman assumed he was talking about him. Cole explained that he was talking about Goldberg.

Cole listed off Goldberg’s accomplishments and winning streak in WCW. Reigns responded that everyone would be winning if he was in WCW because they’d still be in business.

Cole noted Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series a few years ago. Reigns said Lesnar’s old news and mocked him. Cole mentioned that Reigns vs. Goldberg was supposed to happen two years ago at WrestleMania. Reigns promised to smash Goldberg at Elimination Chamber. He added that he’s going to “Goldberg” Goldberg.

Dungeon Style Match: Natalya defeated Aliyah (2:41)

Natalya and Aliyah had a fun short match.

They recapped Aliyah defeating Natalya three times in a row, including in 3.17 seconds, via DQ and count-out.

Cole and Graves pushed that Aliyah embarrassed Natalya the last few weeks. Natalya had the early advantage with a side headlock. Aliyah fought back and blew a kiss at Natalya. Natalya quickly regained control and hit a Michinoku Driver for a near fall.

Aliyah recovered and hit a Thesz Press. She followed up with a bulldog for a two-count. Aliyah briefly locked on a half-crab, but Natalya escaped. The finish came when Natalya locked on the sharpshooter, and Aliyah made it to the ropes. However, rope breaks didn’t count, so Aliyah tapped out.

After the match, Natalya continued to attack Aliyah until Xia Li made the save.

The Rock narrated a touching video about his father, Rocky Johnson, celebrating Black History Month. The fans broke into loud “Rocky” chants.

In-Zayn

This was a fine segment.

Earlier today, Johnny Knoxville wrote loser on a Sami Zayn poster and ripped up a Sami Zayn Forever t-shirt.

Zayn claimed he would not let Knoxville’s actions get to him. Instead, he’s going to turn his attention to his Intercontinental title match with Shinsuke Nakamura next week. He’s also going to focus on his podcast. Rick Boogs interrupted and introduced Nakamura.

Zayn was surprised that Nakamura showed up for the podcast because he’s been ducking Zayn for weeks. Zayn can’t wait to see the look on Nakamura’s face when he beats him. Zayn knows that Nakamura is working with Knoxville to distract him.

Nakamura asked Zayn if he had seen the movie. Zayn assumed he meant Jackass: Forever. Instead, Nakamura said next week’s movie is called Jackass: Defeated. Zayn became angry. He pointed out that he used to be in Nakamura’s corner, but now he has Boogs.

Zayn mocked Boogs. Boogs yelled and grabbed the mic. Somehow, the mic shocked Boogs, and he fell into the corner. As Nakamura checked on Boogs, Zayn hit the Helluva kick.

They recapped Drew McIntyre hitting the Claymore on Madcap Moss last week. In the back, Moss decided not to be in Corbin’s corner because of his injuries. Moss added that he’s going to try to get out of facing McIntyre at Elimination Chamber.

They showed a billboard in Saudi Arabia promoting Becky Lynch vs. Lita at Elimination Chamber. Graves added that WWE continues to influence the world.

Happy Corbin defeated Cesaro (3:50)

Corbin and Cesaro had a fine match.

They joined the match in progress. Cesaro had the early advantage, but Cobin quickly took over. He slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Cesaro fought back, but Corbin hit the Deep Six for a near fall.

Corbin placed Cesaro on the top rope, but he fought back with a suplex. Cesaro avoided the around the ring post clothesline and sent Corbin to the floor. He followed up with a running uppercut against the barricade. Cesaro then hit a springboard uppercut for another near fall.

Cesaro rocked Corbin with a boot to the face, but Corbin bounced off the middle ropes with a clothesline. He followed up with End of Days for the win.

In the back, Madcap Moss spoke with the doctor in the trainer’s room. Moss tried to convince the doctor to cancel his match with McIntyre at Elimination Chamber. McIntyre showed up with Angela and forced Moss to change his mind. McIntyre revealed their match is now Falls Count Anywhere.

Goldberg Sit Down Interview

Michael Cole interviewed Goldberg in the back. Cole claimed there are rumors that Goldberg is making one too many returns. Goldberg rejected the rumors and noted he’s still the same Goldberg.

They discussed the WrestleMania match that didn’t happen two years ago. Cole mentioned Reigns said Goldberg will acknowledge him. Goldberg laughed and promised to beat Reigns and face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defeated Naomi to retain (19:49)

Flair and Naomi had a really good match. They both worked hard and told a good story. The fans were into the match and went crazy when Ronda Rousey ran in at the end.

They recapped the Sonya Deville-Naomi angle from earlier tonight.

Flair was in control early and caught Naomi with a shoulder tackle. Flair celebrated, but Naomi jumped up to her feet. She caught Flair with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and sent her to the floor. Naomi followed up with a twisting plancha.

Back from the break, Flair was firmly in control, but Naomi fought back. She rocked Flair with a kick to the head and hit a flying cross body for a close near fall. Flair took back over and slowed the pace down. Flair missed a boot in the corner. Naomi kicked the leg and hit a jawbreaker for a near fall.

Flair recovered and rocked Naomi with hard chops. She followed up with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two-count. Naomi fought back and hit a blockbuster for another close near fall. Flair rolled to the floor, so Naomi went after her. Flair took advantage and threw Naomi into the stairs to regain control.

Back from the break, Flair slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Flair went for second tilt-a-whirl backbreker but Naomi reversed into a pin for a near fall. She followed up with a springboard kick for a close two-count. The fans broke into a brief “Naomi” chant.

Naomi sent Flair into the middle turnbuckle. She attempted a hurricanrana, but Flair countered into a powerbomb for a close two-count. Flair went for a moonsault, but Naomi rolled out of the way. Flair landed on her feet and went for a standing moonsault, but Naomi got her knees up. Naomi then hit the rearview for a very close two-count. The fans reacted big for that near fall.

Naomi went for the split-legged moonsault, but Flair got her feet up. Naomi recovered and hit a full nelson bomb for another close two-count. Naomi then hit the split-legged moonsault for a close near fall. The finish came when Naomi went for the rearview again, but Flair knocked her down and hit Natural Selection for the win.

After the match, Sonya Deville got in Naomi’s face. Naomi heard enough and attacked Deville. Flair jumped back in and helped Deville beat down Naomi.

Ronda Rousey’s music hit to a huge pop. She sprinted down to the ring and kicked Deville. She caught Flair with body shots until she jumped out of the ring. Rousey took down Deville and went for the armbar on the good arm, but Flair pulled her out of the ring.

Rousey and Naomi watched as Flair and Deville walked away to end SmackDown.

Next Week: Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Goldberg meet Face-to-Face. Plus, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defends against Sami Zayn.

Goldberg appearance, In-Zayn segment added to WWE SmackDown

A pair of segments have been added to tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

WWE has announced that Goldberg will appear on tonight’s show ahead of his upcoming Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns. Goldberg is challenging for Reigns’ title at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, February 19.

Goldberg returned to WWE television on last week’s SmackDown and challenged Reigns to the Universal Championship match. Goldberg said he acknowledges Reigns — as his next victim.

Elimination Chamber will be the first time Goldberg has wrestled since defeating Bobby Lashley in a no holds barred, falls count anywhere match at Crown Jewel last October.

An “In-Zayn” segment with Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs appearing as Sami Zayn’s guest is also set for tonight’s SmackDown. Nakamura is set to defend his Intercontinental title against Zayn on SmackDown next week.

In-Zayn began as a stunt show before being turned into a “live podcast.”

The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is hosting tonight’s SmackDown. Next Friday’s Elimination Chamber go-home edition of the show is also being taped at the Smoothie King Center tonight. That episode needed to be taped in advance due to the travel schedule with Elimination Chamber being in Saudi Arabia.

Here’s the updated lineup for tonight’s SmackDown:

  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defends against Naomi
  • Goldberg appears
  • Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs will appear on In-Zayn with Sami Zayn
  • Aliyah vs. Natalya in a “Dungeon-style” match (the match can only be won by pinfall or submission)

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Goldberg returns, Rousey’s WM decision

Goldberg returned to WWE television last night and set the stage for a match against Roman Reigns.

Goldberg will challenge for Reigns’ Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, February 19. It will be the first-ever singles match between the two.

In the opening segment of last night’s show, Goldberg interrupted Reigns, Paul Heyman, and The Usos. Goldberg said he acknowledges Reigns — as his next victim. Goldberg issued the challenge for Elimination Chamber and told Reigns that he’s next.

Reigns and Goldberg were originally scheduled to face off at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, but that didn’t happen due to Reigns pulling off the show following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was also officially announced on SmackDown last night that Ronda Rousey will challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38. Rousey told Charlotte that she’s not special, she’s just the first of many people who Rousey owes an ass beating to.

Rousey then called Charlotte a bitch. Charlotte said the SmackDown Women’s Championship is her baby — and it’s way prettier than Rousey’s.

Sonya Deville tried to stop a brawl from breaking out. Rousey pushed her out of the way and avoided a clothesline from Charlotte. Deville then jumped on Rousey’s back, but Rousey slammed her and put her in an armbar as Charlotte watched on.

Goldberg returns to WWE TV on SmackDown, challenges Roman Reigns

Goldberg returned to WWE on SmackDown tonight, immediately setting up a WWE Universal title match for Elimination Chamber.

SmackDown opened with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman celebrating their accomplishments at the Royal Rumble, namely costing Brock Lesnar the WWE Championship. Goldberg came out and said that he acknowledged Reigns, but after pausing, said that he acknowledged him as his next victim. Goldberg told Reigns he wanted the Universal Championship match for Elimination Chamber on February 19. That match was confirmed later in the show.

A match between Reigns and Goldberg was originally scheduled for WrestleMania 36 back in 2020. However, due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Reigns opted not to compete at that year’s show. Braun Strowman and Goldberg faced for the Universal title instead, with Strowman winning.

Goldberg has not competed in a match since last year’s SummerSlam, when he was unable to continue against Bobby Lashley after Lashley attacked Goldberg’s knee.

This year’s Elimination Chamber event will take place in Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah Super Dome. Matches already announced include Becky Lynch vs. Lita for the Raw Women’s Championship, The Usos vs. The Viking Raiders for the SmackDown Tag Team titles, and the Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship that includes Lashley, Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Riddle, and AJ Styles.

Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns reportedly planned for WWE Elimination Chamber

Bill Goldberg’s final match under his current WWE contract will be against Universal Champion Roman Reigns at this month’s Elimination Chamber, according to a report.

Fightful reported the news on Thursday, saying the working plan had been for Goldberg to be part of the Chamber event in Saudi Arabia with the most recent plans calling for the Reigns match.

Dave Meltzer has not been able to confirm the match as of yet, but did say Goldberg was planned for the show.

The two were originally supposed to square off at 2020’s WrestleMania 36 for Goldberg’s then-Universal title. Reigns withdrew from the match due to wanting to stay home with his young children during the pandemic and Braun Strowman took his place.

Last December, Goldberg said on the Pat McAfee Show that he had one match left on his deal.

The Saturday, February 12th show has the following matches confirmed:

  • Elimination Chamber match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Riddle, and AJ Styles
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Lita
  • SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defend against The Viking Raiders

Goldberg confirms he has one match remaining on WWE contract

Bill Goldberg has one match remaining on his WWE contract, confirmed by the former WWE and WCW star Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show.

McAfee asked him how many more years Vince McMahon was going to call him while he was drunk at parties and Goldberg replied by laughing and confirming that he had just one more match remaining on his deal.

The 55-year-old didn’t indicate when he would like that match to take place or who he would like it to be against although current WWE Champion Big E was pushing for the match at October’s Crown Jewel. Goldberg said he would be interested.

It’s also unknown whether Goldberg wants to continue wrestling after the final contracted bout.

After a two-year absence, Goldberg re-signed with the company in 2019 for a multi-year, eight-match deal — three of which have been in Saudi Arabia.

He wrestled the Undertaker in a widely-panned bout at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia that June, documented in Undertaker’s Last Ride series. He then defeated The Fiend for the Universal title the following February at another Super ShowDown event before losing it to Braun Strowman at the closed-set WrestleMania two months later. Strowman was a fill-in for Roman Reigns who opted to remain at home during the early part of the pandemic.

In January of this year, he returned to unsuccessfully challenge then-champion Drew McIntyre for the WWE title at the Royal Rumble before also unsuccessfully challenging then-champion Bobby Lashley for the Universal title at SummerSlam.

Goldberg got revenge by beating Lashley in a no holds barred, falls count anywhere match at WWE’s return to Saudi Arabia in October.

Big E tried to ‘make some noise’ to face Goldberg at WWE Crown Jewel

If he had his way, WWE Champion Big E would have faced Goldberg at October’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view, he says.

In an interview with Sportsnet, Big E states that facing his childhood idol would have been a “full circle” deal.

“I was trying to make some noise for this Goldberg match at Crown Jewel, but that clearly [didn’t happen],” Big E said. “It would have been really full circle. He was my childhood hero and idol, and I’ve spoken effusively about that.”

For his part, Goldberg has made it clear that a match with Big E is something he has interest in.

“Big E could bring stuff out of me that I’d want to do just to make Big E proud of me, right?” Goldberg said on an edition of WWE’s The Bump in April 2021.

“So the story goes with Big E and I, that the only match I was ever late for, or I ever missed in WCW, was a match that I called in and told them I couldn’t catch the plane because I was at a signing and I had to stay until everyone was taken care of. Big E was one of the kids I stayed for, okay?” Goldberg said. “So, I will never forget his face, I’ll never forget that day.”

“So, getting in the ring with him would be a different situation but it’d be really cool in its own way.”

Goldberg reportedly has one match left on a WWE deal that may extend through 2022 or 2023, though there are conflicting reports as to the details of the deal. The WWE Hall of Famer turns 55 in December.

Goldberg thinks he silenced critics with match at WWE Crown Jewel

Image: WWE

After defeating Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel, Goldberg has expressed satisfaction with his performance.

Goldberg reflected on his trip to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on the latest episode of the CarCast podcast. While discussing his match against Lashley, Goldberg said that, while he’s not happy with his performance, he’s satisfied enough with it after not having the best track record in Saudi Arabia previously. Goldberg said he thinks the performance “shut all these f*ckers up finally.”

“I don’t have the best track record in Saudi Arabia,” Goldberg said. I’ve knocked myself out in a match, I’ve dropped The Undertaker on his head, and this and that. I needed to redeem myself. I’m not happy with my performance, but I’m satisfied with it to a point where I think it’s shut all these f*ckers up finally.”

Goldberg vs. Lashley at Crown Jewel was a no holds barred, falls count anywhere match. Goldberg won when he speared Lashley off the stage and onto a crash pad on the floor.

Also on the CarCast, Goldberg addressed how his injured knee is feeling and spoke about what his relationship with Lashley is like behind the scenes.

“The knee, I mean it hurts. It is what it is. The fact is I hurt every day of my life. It’s all relative, you know? And my brace held up well, fortunately. He went after my knee again. But, it is what it is, man. I dropped the hammer on his ass in the end and you know, if you want to know about me and Bobby behind the scenes, let’s just say that Gage Goldberg is Wanda and I’s son and there is no frickin’ way I would let anyone on this planet touch him if I didn’t love and trust them,” Goldberg said.

“So, Bobby’s a great individual and I’ve wanted for years to be able to have a program with him. And you know, I’m just honored that he let me do it. You know, it was fun. And getting some payback and kicking his ass in the end was just icing on top of the cake.”

Stipulation added to WWE Crown Jewel match

Another stipulation is set for Goldberg and Bobby Lashley’s match at Crown Jewel.

It was announced on the pre-show for Crown Jewel this morning that Goldberg vs. Lashley, which was already a no holds barred match, will now also have a falls count anywhere stipulation. Lashley defeated Goldberg by referee stoppage when they faced off at SummerSlam this August. After the match, Lashley put Goldberg’s 15-year-old son Gage in the Hurt Lock.

Also on the Crown Jewel pre-show, it was initially announced that a no disqualification stipulation was being added to Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship match. It was later said that Reigns and Lesnar had no interest in the stipulation and it would still be a regular match.

Edge and Seth Rollins’ Hell in a Cell match will be kicking off the Crown Jewel main card at noon Eastern time.

Here’s what’s been announced for today’s show:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against Brock Lesnar
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match
  • WWE Champion Big E defends against Drew McIntyre
  • No holds barred, falls count anywhere match: Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley
  • Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) defend against AJ Styles & Omos
  • Mansoor vs. Mustafa Ali
  • King of the Ring tournament finals: Finn Balor vs. Xavier Woods
  • Queen’s Crown tournament finals: Zelina Vega vs. Doudrop
  • Hell in a Cell match: Edge vs. Seth Rollins
  • Non-title match: SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander (pre-show)

Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg announced for WWE Crown Jewel

Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg has been made official for WWE Crown Jewel.

The match was made official on tonight’s Raw after Lashley issued the challenge to Goldberg, saying he’d accept another match as long as it was a no holds barred match. Goldberg accepted, telling Lashley that he was not only next, but also dead.

Goldberg and Lashley have been feuding since this summer, when Goldberg faced then-WWE Champion Lashley at SummerSlam. The finish had Goldberg unable to continue after suffering a knee injury, with the referee stopping the match. Goldberg’s son Gage came to the ring to help him. Lashley responded by laying out Gage with the hurt lock. Since then, Goldberg has called for revenge against Lashley.

Appearing on tonight’s Raw, Goldberg again said that Lashley would pay for what he did. Lashley invited Gage to Crown Jewel, insisting that what had happened at SummerSlam was a misunderstanding. But if Gage got involved again, what happens to him next would not be an accident.

Crown Jewel will take place on October 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg to appear on Monday’s WWE Raw

Goldberg is set to make his first in-person appearance on WWE television since SummerSlam.

During SmackDown on Friday night, a commercial aired announcing that Goldberg will be appearing on Monday’s episode of Raw. The show is taking place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and is night two of the WWE Draft.

At SummerSlam, Bobby Lashley defeated Goldberg by referee stoppage to retain the WWE Championship. Lashley has since lost the WWE Championship to Big E.

The ref stoppage at SummerSlam came when Goldberg couldn’t get to his feet after having his knee attacked. Lashley continued to attack Goldberg after the match, leading to an angle where Goldberg’s 15-year-old son Gage tried to stop Lashley. Lashley then put Gage in the Hurt Lock.

Goldberg appeared via video on Raw earlier this week. He sent a message to Lashley, promising that he’s going to hurt Lashley for what he did to Gage. Goldberg said if he’s lucky enough, he’ll even kill Lashley.

Goldberg is expected to face Lashley at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 21.

Goldberg appears on WWE Raw, addresses Bobby Lashley

Goldberg appeared on WWE Raw tonight, targeting Bobby Lashley.

On tonight’s show, Goldberg appeared via satellite. He said that he hoped Lashley was a better father than he was a liar, as he knew that Lashley was lying when he said choking out his son Gage was a misunderstanding. He swore that he would protect his son against anything and anyone. He promised to hurt Lashley, and if he was lucky, Goldberg said that he would kill him. He promised that Lashley would be his next victim.

Goldberg was last seen at SummerSlam, where he challenged Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. Lashley injured Goldberg’s knee during the match, eventually causing the referee to stop the match. Lashley continued to attack Goldberg’s knee afterwards, causing Goldberg’s son Gage to enter the ring to try and help his father. Lashley ended up applying the Hurt Lock on Gage and escaped before Goldberg could recover.

On tonight’s episode of Raw, Bobby Lashley challenged Big E for the WWE Championship. After their first match ended in a DQ finish, Big E defeated Lashley in a steel cage match to retain the title.

TUESDAY NEWS UPDATE

WWE

  • The dark match following last night’s Raw had Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods defeating The Miz and John Morrison.
  • In an interview with DAZN, Goldberg talked about his feud with Riddle, saying that at the very least, he appreciates his passion for the business. “Yeah. The cocky kid (Riddle) spouting off his mouth in the beginning, and I didn’t appreciate it very much by any stretch of the imagination. But the guy has put in a lot of frickin hard work and a lot of hard work, and he’s dedicated his life to this business. We’ll see how it is going forward from there, but from my experience there, there wasn’t really many eggshells as far as upper management not being happy. This is everything that we want to invest in,’ how much they were proud of all the hard work we were doing there at the Performance Center, and they see the way we train, the way that we work. They see how hard we really, really work on this product, and it was always such positive feedback from everybody upstairs, honestly.”
