Chelsea Green shares positive injury return update

Currently out of action with an ankle injury, Chelsea Green recently shared a major update on her WWE return.

Recently appearing on The Ghosts of Hollywood, Green addressed her ankle injury before opening up about her potential return timeline. Despite calling it “broken,” she shared a positive update on it.

My ankle, it’s broken. The inner ankle bone chipped and cracked. It’s very much broken. A lot of people are questioning that. I’m able to (put) weight there. I feel like we’re on a good trajectory to make a solid comeback,” Green said.

Green suffered the injury while wrestling on the February 6th episode of SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match. The injury also ruled her out of action from her scheduled AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship match with Ethan Page. She was eventually replaced by La Hiedra. However, Hiedra and Page went on to lose the titles to Lola Vice and Mr.Iguana.

Cody Rhodes ‘so proud’ of fellow WWE star Chelsea Green

Cody Rhodes doesn’t think Chelsea Green even realizes how much she matters to WWE fans.

Because of how she prioritizes entertaining the audience above all else, Green has become a fan-favorite in WWE. The Chicago Sun-Times published a feature story on her this week, with the article including a quote from Rhodes about how proud he is of Green.

“Chelsea Green is, I think, [someone] people in the business will say, like a survivor,” Rhodes said. “I’m very, very proud of her. I don’t think she realizes how special she is to the fans. And I think she still thinks the glass of water in front of her is her last, and it’s not, but the good wrestlers always think that’s the last one. And I wish that she could take an outside perspective and look at what she’s done, and know she’s done a lot, and it’s an indication that she can do even more.”

WWE legends The Undertaker and Mick Foley have both recently expressed that they feel Green is underutilized by the company. She is a former Women’s United States Champion and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion but has not held either World Championship in the women’s division.

Reaching those kind of heights is something Green would like, but she isn’t getting too caught up in her win-loss record right now.

“I lose, and honestly, I lose often,” Green told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I lose probably more than any other woman on the WWE roster. But at the end of the day, I’m traveling the world with some of my best friends, doing my dream job. I’m putting on sparkly gear, and I’m doing what I love in front of hundreds of millions of people.”

At the moment, Green is out of action with an ankle injury but remains on TV as an on-screen character. She spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times about her ambitions in Hollywood, saying she would like to follow in the footsteps of John Cena.

“I want to improve my acting skills, my public speaking skills and my hosting skills to make sure that I’m constantly building a resume that is undeniable,” Green said. “I would love to be the next John Cena of professional wrestling for the women’s division. I would love to be in movies and TV and elevating the next generation of WWE talent, but that’s a big goal. So, you know, I’m going to continue to work on that and put it out into the universe, and I’ll manifest, and whatever happens, happens.”

Michael Hayes ‘doesn’t regret’ comments about Chelsea Green

Michael Hayes says he doesn’t regret comments he made about Chelsea Green on WWE: Unreal, but feels the show didn’t accurately portray what he was saying about her.

In season 2, Hayes said that while Chelsea is entertaining, he felt that she was not suited for a main event role, saying that it’s her job to help make stars like Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton.

Hayes clarified his comments about Green during a recent appearance on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker. Hayes said he had spoken to Netflix about the segment that aired, saying that parts of his comments were edited out of the broadcast.

Hayes said:

“I’ve talked to Netflix about this because when we did that interview, and I recall this specifically, that when we started the interview, the first thing I said was, Chelsea is as good or as talented and entertaining as anyone we have. But, of course, that never saw the light of day. That was on the cutting room floor because if you’re going to make me a heel, that’s the best way to do it, to say she’s not good enough. And that’s not really what I was saying.”

“I don’t regret what I said because her role at the time I said that, and even right now, is not the top role. It is to help make other people. And as you know, we all know that we’re only as good as the people that help make us.”

“With that said, if Chelsea caught fire because of this following and the support that she has, we’d go with that in a heartbeat. Look at Daniel Bryan. Look at Kofi Kingston. When they both caught fire, we went with it. Whether some people up top agreed with that or not, they went with it because that’s what the people wanted. We’re not there right now with Chelsea.”

The Undertaker commented that he believes Green has that “it” factor.

Taker said:

“I think she, without a doubt, with just a hair more mean streak, I think she can be a top player. She has that thing, that ‘it’ thing.”

And I just think there’s a lot of great things coming for that young lady. I’m a big fan of hers.”

“There’s certain organizations around that know how to use her. You got to go south of the border, you’ve got to go south of the border,” Taker, who is a producer for AAA, continued.

Hayes’ full appearance on the Six Feet Under podcast is available below. The video is cued to his comments regarding Chelsea Green.

WWE’s Chelsea Green shares photo of ankle injury

WWE wrestler Chelsea Green missed her scheduled match for AAA on Saturday after suffering an ankle injury on SmackDown the night before. And based on the photo she shared on social media today, she could be missing more matches in the future.

Green’s photo, shared on X/Twitter, showed a badly swollen and discolored ankle. She blamed the injury on “WWE management” and shared a list of demands for this week’s episode of SmackDown.

“Per your negligence on Friday,” she wrote, “I will be sending a list of demands for this upcoming SmackDown.

“List includes but is not limited to:

  • Fiji water
  • wheelchair with a back warmer
  • red M&Ms
  • a small man to push said wheelchair (must be in tuxedo & under 5’4)”

Green suffered her injury in a triple threat match on SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Stratton won the match, qualifying for the Elimination Chamber match in the process.

The next night, Green appeared on AAA television on crutches and told her tag team partner Ethan Page that she would be unable to defend their AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships. Her spot was taken by La Hiedra. Page & Hiedra went on to lose the titles to Mr. Iguana & Lola Vice.

CMLL logo

— Bryan and I will be back tonight talking about the weekend in pro wrestling and other notes.

— Bron Brekker had surgery for a serious hernia. No word on how long he’ll be out.

— Bad Bunny is performing at halftime of the Super Bowl today. It’s possible you’ve heard about it.

— Fred Ottman, the former Tugboat, Typhoon, Big Bad Steel Man, Big Bubba, Shock Master, Uncle Fred and other names said he’s been in the hospital for the last 30 days after his gallbladder exploded. He said his wife was told that if he had waited another day to come to the hospital he may not have made it. He said he’s lost a lot of muscle, being on his back for a month and is learning how to walk again. He is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow. He still will need regular kidney dialysis for now and will need surgery later this month.

— Chelsea Green’s ankle injury was a bruise and not a break, and while she did miss last night’s AAA show where she and Ethan Page lost the mixed tag team titles (Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana are the new champions), I don’t expect her out for too much time.

— I don’t know all the Observer awards winners right now, but do know that so far that at least nine companies have had winners representing four countries. There could be more.

— Andrei Arlovski, 47, defeated Ben Rothwell to win the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship heavyweight title last night before a sellout crowd of 18,217 in Philadelphia. Arlovski won via third round stoppage due to a nasty head cut. BKFC claimed 2 million people watched the show.

— YouTube numbers for last night’s shows had it at 324,000, and keep in mind that’s a number watching at least ten seconds, not the entire show and can count the same person multiple times. For a comparison, the English language feed of AAA was at the same time at 231,000 and the taped MLW Battle Riot from a few weeks back was at 190,000.

— For the matches we’ve heard a lot about, Saya Kamitani vs. Starlight Kid for the World of Stardom title has gotten a lot of talk. Kamitani suffered a finger injury legit, worked a long match after the injury and retained her title. Friday’s Arena Mexico didn’t have a great star power lineup on paper, but boy was it a fun show. I’d highly recommend Yutani vs. Capitan Suicida as a high flying match, MxM Collection vs. Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja which was an awesome tag title match, Johnny Consejo (Johnny TV) vs. Soberano Jr was very entertaining and the main event was usual standard Arena Mexico trios on top with Averno & Cavernario & Hechicero over Neon & Templario & Flip Gordon with them setting up Templario vs. Averno for the CMLL middleweight title for next Friday. It was the usual style, although not quite as heated or as many flashy moves with no Mistico & Mascara Dorada. Templario took the Mistico spot as the star of the team and he’s an awesome wrestler, not as over at all as Mistico, but better in the ring and like with Mistico, they focused the match around him. The show didn’t sell out but there were way more women at the show than usual and the clear draw ws Soberano Jr., to the point there were a lot of empty seats during the main event. Last night’s show at Arena Coliseo was sold out. Tuesday’s Reyes del Aire match was spectacular.

— For Google searches this weekend, as you can imagine, it was dominated by the Super Bowl and Olympics. The only top 100 searches were Mario Bautista (46) and Kyoji Horiguchi (96) from last night’s UFC show at the Apex. The show itself did 100,000 searches. Smackdown got 2,000 searches and nothing from AEW made the list. The biggest search in pro wrestling was Ricky Steamboat, who is fine.

— Wednesday’s AEW show not only did the best ratings in months for a television show, but was up 6.5 percent higher in web searches for AEW than any other TV show since November, beating out 1/14 (MJF vs. Bandido), 1/28 (MJF vs. Brody King and Kenny Omega vs. Andrade among others) and 1/24 (Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mark Briscoe). Essentially Google searches continue to corroborate that interest level is up and it’s not just a ratings change with these increased numbers. The ratings change does help though.

— SmackDown will be on Syfy on Friday due to the Olympics.

— MLW from last night in Chicago sold out Cicero Stadium: Shotzi Blackheart b Shoko Nakajima to win the women’s featherweight title, Mistico b Diego Hill in a babyface battle, Donovan Dijak & Bishop Dyer b uke Gallows & Karl Anderson to retain the MLW tag team titles, Kushida b Alan Angels to keep the middleweight title, Josh Bishop vs. Matthew Justice street fight (not sure who won) but Justice tok a crazy dive off the bleachers and was shaken up but said to be okay, Killer Kross NC Matt Riddle for the MLW title when Alex Hammerstone attacked both guys, Okumura b Victor ?, Soberano Jr. b Neon (really good), Scarlett Bordeaux b Blair Onyx, Hammerstone b Ultimo Guerrero, Mads Krule Krugger b Bishop Dyer with a DDT on a belt, Austin Aries b Blue Panther (Panther looked like he got hurt on a flip dive off the paron and may have landed on or near his head), Zamaya b Lil Ruiz, Mistico b Templario with La Mistica. Match started after 11 p.m. so not the usual level of Mistico reaction. (thanks to Lance LeVine)

— They teased the idea of Dominik Mysterio putting up his hair against El Hijo del Vikingo on 3/14 in Puebla. Either way they are doing an AAA Mega title match. The Grande Americano who qualified for the Rey de Reyes finals was Chad Gable, not Ludwig Kaiser, winning over Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee and Octagon Jr.

— AEW Collision will go head-to-head with Elimination Chamber on 2/28.

— Misty Blue Simms turned 67 day. Paul Wight turned 54. Royce Isaacs turned 37. Duke Hudson turned 36. Xyon Quinn turned 36. Fred Blassie was born on this day in 1918. Jim Neidhart was born on this day in 1955. Sherri Martel was born on this day in 1958. Kat LaRoux was born on this day in 1965. Chicago figurehead promoter and TV announcer Bob Luce died 19 years ago today at the age of 78. Ricky Hunter died four years ago today at 86. (thanks to Tony Richards)

— DDP has uploaded three episodes of his “Change or Die” reality show on Tubi. The show features Page helping Buff Bagwell and Butterbean.

— On yesterday’s PFL show in Dubai, Usman Nurmagomedov retained the lightweight title via fourth round submission over Alfie Davis. Ramazan Kuramagomedov went to 14-0 and wn the vacant welterweight title beating Shamil Musaev via decision on scores of 48-46 across the board. Kurammagomedov told announcer Dan Hardy after the fight that he may have suffered a broken arm and also talked about possibly retiring.

Chelsea Green sustains injury, replaced in AAA Mixed Tag Team title defense

Chelsea Green recently suffered a foot injury and was pulled from a AAA Mixed Tag Team title match on Saturday’s AAA on Fox.

Originally scheduled to defend alongside Ethan Page against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana on Saturday. Appearing on the broadcast via FaceTime, Green alerted Page that she would not be able to make it to the match. Showing her foot in a walking boot, Green announced her injury. The injury was also later confirmed by our Bryan Alvarez.

No further details or information have emerged on Green’s injury, and the severity or potential in-ring return timeline is currently unknown. She last wrestled on Friday’s WWE SmackDown in a three-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Corey Graves revealed on commentary that is where the injury was sustained.

Green was replaced by the 28-year-old La Hiedra, who teamed up with Page to face Vice and Mr. Iguana. However, falling short, Vice pinned Hiedra to become the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.

Chelsea Green shows off foot injury on social media

Moments after Page and Hiedra lost the Mixed Tag Team titles, Green uploaded the image of her injury on social media, launching a rant on AAA for allowing Page to defend the titles.

“The AUDACITY of [Lucha Libre AAA] to throw [Ethan Page] into a match like that after I almost ended my career on Smackdown last night from a near fatal fall.”

Title match, Elimination Chamber qualifiers set for WWE SmackDown

The road to Elimination Chamber officially kicks off on tonight’s post-Royal Rumble edition of WWE SmackDown.

Along with these matches, WWE has announced that Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY will defend their Women’s Tag Team titles against Giulia & Kiana James tonight. The show is taking place from in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Spectrum Center.

Chelsea Green reacts to Michael Hayes’ comments on WWE Unreal

Former WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has reacted to Michael Hayes’ surprising comments about her on WWE Unreal on Netflix.

Recently speaking with hosts Dorinda Medley and Kiki Monique on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, Green addressed Hayes’ statements, “Okay, this is tea ladies, because I have not done media since this came out. This really, really ruffled some feathers. So one of the head producers of WWE, his name is Michael Hayes.

He works very closely with our boss, Triple H, and he basically on ‘Unreal’ said, you know, ‘Chelsea makes the most out of her time, so we don’t need to give her 30 minutes. We give her 30 seconds, and she does the same work, which is great because she’s not meant to be here for 30 minutes. She’s not meant to be the top girl,” Green added.

She’s meant to elevate all those girls to be in that top position, to be a main eventer.’ It’s crazy because I’m a self-aware human being, so I know my kind of place on the totem pole in this fake hierarchy that is wrestling. But to actually hear it, to actually hear that there was a ceiling put on me, it’s different,” she continued. “You can’t help but be pissed off and a little upset and just aggravated at the fact that you thought that there was maybe a chance that there wasn’t that ceiling, that maybe it was all in your head and that it was confirmed and it wasn’t confirmed to me, it was confirmed on national television.”

During season two of WWE Unreal on Netflix, producer Michael Hayes opened up about Chelsea Green, noting that while Green is entertaining, she is not made for roles like Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton. Instead, he claimed that Green’s job was to make stars like them.

Cody Rhodes interview, two matches added to WWE SmackDown

The lineup for tonight’s WWE SmackDown has a few new additions.

Ahead of tonight’s SmackDown, WWE announced that Cody Rhodes will have a sit-down interview on the show. He’ll address his upcoming match against Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend, which was made after the returning Fatu cost Rhodes the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre two weeks ago. A brawl between Rhodes and Fatu then took place last Friday before being broken up by security.

Two new matches have also been confirmed for tonight. WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill faces off with Chelsea Green in a non-title match, while Carmelo Hayes defends his United States Championship in another open challenge. Hayes has retained over Johnny Gargano, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Leon Slater in his reign so far.

Montreal, Quebec Canada is hosting SmackDown tonight and Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow. Here is the updated SmackDown lineup:

WWE SmackDown (Friday, January 23) —

  • WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks defend against The MFTs
  • Women’s Tag Team title number one contender’s match: Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. Giulia & Kiana James vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend
  • Cody Rhodes sit-down interview
  • Damian Priest vs. Trick Williams
  • Non-title match: WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill vs. Chelsea Green
  • Carmelo Hayes United States Championship open challenge
  • Nathan Frazer vs. Johnny Gargano
  • AJ Styles appears for a chat with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis

Chelsea Green reflects on her wrestling journey: ‘I was told no so many times’

Chelsea Green reflected on her wrestling journey in a new interview.

Despite the success she’s had in WWE recently, it wasn’t always easy for the 34-year-old. Speaking to Denise Salcedo, Green opened up on her pro wrestling career and revealed that she has been “told no so many times” in her career.

Green said:

It’s so crazy, Matt (Cardona) and I were just talking about, we would have never guessed, when we first met nine, almost 10 years ago, that when I was at TNA and he was at WWE, then I would get to WWE, then he would get fired, then I would get fired, then I would get hired and he wouldn’t get hired, years later he would get hired and I would be a double champion and all my dreams would be coming true and I’d travel the world and I represent the company.”

“All these things are so crazy, but I do feel like the journey to get here was so hard, that now that I’m here, there’s not one person in this world that can say I didn’t work for it.

There’s a lot of chosen ones in wrestling, you see that happen, the machine has scooped you up and thrust you to the top,” Green continued. “It’s amazing, and some unbelievable stars come from it. But for me, my story is so different and relatable, and I didn’t get everything handed to me; I was told no so many times.

She further said, “There were a lot of people that told me there was nothing unique about me, and I figured out my niche, and I think that’s really special, and that’s what fans kind of attach to, like she is one of us.”

Following her initial run in WWE, Green was released from the promotion in 2020. However, after a wait of nearly three years, she returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble. Since then, Green has been on the rise and has won multiple championships, including becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion in 2024.

Chelsea Green responds to WWE Unreal critics: ‘We’ve got to progress forward’

Despite WWE Unreal on Netflix facing massive criticism since last year, WWE star Chelsea Green has now come to its defense.

With Unreal’s second season set to release in the next few days, Green recently appeared in an interview with Denise Salcedo, where she responded to the show’s criticism. While many wrestling legends have openly criticized the show’s format of pulling back the curtains, Green believes Unreal is an effective way to “progress forward.”

I just feel like wrestling is basically the longest soap opera known to mankind. Why would you not want to peel back the curtain and watch how the longest episodic television show is made? I don’t understand.” Citing real examples, she claimed, “Total Divas was one of the best shows on E! So, the proof is in the pudding, we do like when the curtain is pulled back, we do like an inside look.

I think it’s just this funny balance of people wanting to protect the business, but we’ve got to progress forward, and unscripted reality TV is progressing forward, pulling the curtain back is pressing forward. Showing, especially the entertainment industry that we belong, because I think we’ve been the black sheep,” Green said. “Sports doesn’t want to claim us, you see that we’re not necessarily at the forefront of the Espys or things like that, right? We’re not really in Sports Illustrated all the time, and then Hollywood is like, ‘Yeah, you’re not a TV show, you’re not real actors, we’re not going to have you (be) a part of the SAG Union and things like that.

Continuing her argument in support of the show’s format, the former WWE Women’s US Champion said, “I personally think that moments like Unreal are what are going to push this industry forward and branch out into sports and into Hollywood in ways that we didn’t know it could. And also, we’re going to get new fans, it’s on Netflix, hello, new fans are going to watch this, and they’re going to tune in to Raw and SmackDown, PLEs and NXTs, and there’s nothing bad about that.”

WWE Unreal on Netflix is set to release on January 20th, 2026, this time focusing on Seth Rollins’ fake injury angle, R-Truth’s WWE exit and return, and several more angles leading up to SummerSlam 2025.

Chelsea Green details how she supports wrestlers after WWE releases

Chelsea Green recently opened up in detail about supporting released WWE wrestlers by sending them contact information of AEW, TNA, and other promotions.

Recently, speaking with Denise Salcedo, Green detailed her way of helping the wrestlers released by WWE.

Whenever anyone gets released, the first thing I do is I message them. I’m sure everyone hates me for this, but the girls love me for it, I give them the names of the AEW people that I know that they can contact and the TNA people that they can contact and then anyone else, that ‘I think you can work here, here or here.’”

Green was previously released by WWE in 2020, only to return three years later in 2023. Following her release in 2020, Green worked her way to the top and wrestled across multiple promotions before returning as a surprise entrant in the 2023 Royal Rumble. Since then, there has been no looking back for the 34-year-old.

In her second run with WWE, Green won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, Women’s United States Championship twice, and now holds the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships with Ethan Page.

Chelsea Green reveals her struggles with acting and auditions: ‘I can’t separate myself’

Recently promoting WWE Unreal on Netflix’s second season launch, former WWE Women’s United States champion Chelsea Green appeared on Stars SiriusXM 109, where she opened up about the struggles of auditioning for acting roles as a WWE superstar.

When asked about the challenges of separating herself from her WWE persona and whether Hollywood takes that into account, Green responded, “So it’s funny because my name is Chelsea Green. My real name is Chelsea Green. My wrestling name is Chelsea Green.”

So it’s good and it’s bad because I can’t separate myself. If they look me up, which they’re gonna look anyone up who they have like a callback especially. Or if my agent pitches me because they think it’s a good idea. Oh, she has so many followers because that’s a thing now,” Green continued. “Hollywood wants people with followers, but then they don’t want wrestlers. So it’s like a very weird vibe where I use it to my advantage, but if I’m feeling like it’s not to my advantage, I will shut it down and that’s why I took off all my nails. I don’t have fake eyelashes. I don’t have fake hair. Like I don’t have all the things when I go to those auditions. I look like Joe Schmo. Like the next girl because I would rather that than what you see on my Instagram, which is glam times a thousand.”

She further elaborated on how different actors and wrestlers look, “Yeah. You know, a lot of wrestlers, they don’t look like normal humans. They look incredible. Like, they look like they belong on a stage. But that’s not what actors look like, right? Actors look real beautiful. Skinny, right, but very real.

Green recently lost her WWE Women’s US title to Giulia following a run of 56-days. She is also the current AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion with Ethan Page.

Chelsea Green wants a WWE Unreal show focused on the women’s locker room

Chelsea Green recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio to promote WWE Unreal on Netflix. Speaking with Danny Murphy and Evan Real, Green opened up about wanting a different version of the show focused on the women.

If we had an unreal that was just the girls’ locker room, which I would absolutely love. Let’s put it into the universe. It would be interesting because I think 99.9% of us really get along. And we don’t just get along. Like we really like to travel together. We like to have our martinis together. We support each other when someone wins a title,” Green added. “You know, we’re excited for each other, but like, it’s still work. It’s still a locker room. There are still so many different personalities. So it would be interesting to see who actually doesn’t like me.

When further asked by Murphy about what might come out of a WWE Superstar’s mouth during stressful moments, despite the stars sharing a good bond between each other, Green claimed, “Well, this past Friday I got my a** kicked by Giulia. She took the title off me, and she damn near, you know, um, took my, my weave right outta my head. She almost snatched me bald. And I am sure I said some things in that moment. Like, I’m sure my mouth was going faster than my brain, so it’d be interesting if they caught those moments, you know what I mean?

WWE is all set to release the second season of Unreal on Netflix on January 20th, 2026, this time focusing on Seth Rollins’ fake injury angle, R-Truth’s WWE exit and return, and several more angles leading up to SummerSlam 2025.

Chelsea Green ‘begged’ Undertaker for Lucha Libre AAA spot

To get her spot in Lucha Libre AAA, Chelsea Green reached out to The Undertaker and “begged” him to let her be part of the promotion.

Undertaker has become one of the most important behind-the-scenes figures in AAA since WWE acquired the company. He and Jeremy Borash are involved with booking AAA, and Green contacted both of them asking to be featured. It resulted in Green and Ethan Page both being brought to Mexico and winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles.

“When I first got the call to go to AAA, it’s because I begged Undertaker. Like every single show that I’m on, I begged the producers,” Green joked while appearing on Notsam Wrestling. “When I just wrestled Sol Ruca for the United States Women’s title, I messaged Shawn Michaels and Johnny Russo and asked for that match. I didn’t ask for Sol, but I asked for a match. Yeah, I’m out here just begging on my hands and knees, ‘Please, someone let me wrestle.’

“So, I messaged Undertaker. First, I messaged Anthony Luke — who is Maxxine’s husband now — I messaged him. I asked for Undertaker’s number. He wouldn’t give it to me, so he gave me Michelle McCool’s. I messaged Michelle McCool. Michelle McCool gave me Undertaker’s number. Then I messaged Undertaker and JB and I was like, ‘Please, I want to go to Mexico. I want to wrestle. I want to do whatever I can.’ He was like, ‘All right, say less.’ He booked Ethan and I together. I didn’t think that was going to be the way — I just wanted to go. I didn’t care how I went.”

Green said she loves holding the Mixed Tag Team titles because it’s a championship that, at one point, she couldn’t imagine would be part of WWE. She wants to showcase the championship and is sure to bring it to all of her media appearances.

“if I’m in AAA, I want to make sure that the WWE audience watches AAA as well,” Green said. “So I’ve done everything I could in my power to make sure that this title is seen everywhere I go.”

As a WWE main roster wrestler, Green hopes that her presence in AAA helps bring some more exposure to the other talent in the promotion.

“Those girls are real fighters, man. They are no joke. They’re incredibly talented,” Green said about the AAA women’s division. “And I just hope that now that AAA is on Fox [in Mexico] and that I am there hopefully shining a new light on it, maybe those luchadoras and those luchadors will get, you know — they’ll make even more money and they’ll get even more eyes on them and whatever.”

Green had been a double champion before dropping the WWE Women’s United States Championship to Giulia on SmackDown last Friday. She and Page still hold the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles — and Page is the men’s North American Champion in NXT.
