Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser added to WWE Raw

A new match has been added to the Monday, November 25 WWE Raw.

After he interfered in a Bron Breakker vs. Sheamus matchup on last week’s episode, Ludwig Kaiser will go one-on-one with Breakker on Monday’s Raw.

Kaiser has been in and around the Intercontinental title picture since September when he took part in the IC title contendership tournament on the brand. Breakker currently holds the IC title, but Monday’s bout will be non-title.

Two more matches have already been announced for Monday’s Raw.

Bianca Belair will face Nia Jax in a bout where the winner’s WarGames team will receive the order of entry advantage in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series next Saturday.

Also set for Raw, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods will square off with Akira Tozawa & Otis in tag team action.

The updated lineup for the Monday, November 25 WWE Raw:

  • WarGames advantage match: Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax
  • Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser
  • The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. Otis & Akira Tozawa

Bron Breakker & Sheamus both eliminated from WWE Speed tournament

After going to a time-limit draw, Bron Breakker and Sheamus have both been eliminated from the ongoing WWE Speed number one contender’s tournament.

The Breakker vs. Sheamus match that aired on Speed today went the full three minutes without a winner being decided. As time was winding down, Breakker went for a spear but got cut off by a knee strike from Sheamus. Both competitors fell to the mat as the last 10 seconds ran off the clock. Speed tournament matches have a rule where both wrestlers are eliminated if a time-limit draw occurs.

A post-match angle saw Breakker and Sheamus trade strikes until officials arrived to break up their brawl. Corey Graves stressed on commentary that Breakker and Sheamus still have unfinished business.

This means that Dragon Lee vs. Akira Tozawa on Speed next Wednesday (November 13) will determine the next challenger for Andrade’s WWE Speed Championship. Andrade has held the title since June with successful defenses against Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Pete Dunne.

Breakker — who currently holds the Intercontinental title — had the chance to become a double champion if he was able to win this tournament and go on to defeat Andrade.

Seth Rollins appearance, Bron Breakker/Jey Uso segment set for WWE Raw

WWE has added two segments to the lineup for WWE Raw

One week after Bron Breakker defeated Jey Uso to regain the Intercontinental Championship, both Breakker and Uso will appear on tonight’s show.

WWE has also confirmed that Seth Rollins will be at Raw as he prepares to wrestle Bronson Reed this Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“After a wild brawl between Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and ‘Big’ Bronson Reed last Monday, find out what’s next in the bitter rivalry en route to their clash at WWE Crown Jewel,” reads WWE.com.

Tonight’s show is scheduled for the Giant Center in Hershey, PA. Four matches are confirmed, including a triple threat tag bout for a future shot at the World Tag Team Championships.

The lineup for the Monday, October 28 WWE Raw:

  • World Tag Team Championship contender’s tournament finals: The New Day vs. The War Raiders vs. Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee
  • Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
  • Zelina Vega vs. Ivy Nile
  • Dominik Mysterio vs. a former World Champion
  • Seth Rollins to appear live
  • Bron Breakker, Jey Uso to appear

Bron Breakker advances in WWE Speed tournament, facing Sheamus next round

A hard-hitting matchup against Sheamus awaits Bron Breakker in the next round of the WWE Speed number one contender’s tournament.

Breakker advanced in the tournament with a first-round victory over Cruz Del Toro on this week’s WWE Speed episode. Just over a minute into the match, Breakker avoided a Phoenix Splash and connected with a spear to get the win.

Sheamus vs. Breakker is the first matchup set for the next round of the tournament, which began last week with Sheamus defeating Giovanni Vinci.

Next Wednesday (October 30), the first round continues with Dragon Lee facing NXT wrestler Tavion Heights. The only remaining first-round match after that is Akira Tozawa vs. NXT’s Riley Osborne. The tournament winner earns the next shot against WWE Speed Champion Andrade, who has held the title since June and made three successful defenses.

Breakker won WWE gold on Raw this Monday, defeating Jey Uso to reclaim the Intercontinental title. Interference by The Bloodline cost Uso that match.

Bron Breakker wins Intercontinental title on WWE Raw

Bron Breakker is Intercontinental Champion once again.

The end of Monday’s Raw saw The Bloodline interfere in the title match between Jey Uso and Breakker, first by appearing at ringside after revealing they had tickets to the show. Sikoa and Jey Uso fought, with Sikoa saying he and Jacob Fatu were there to help. Tonga Loa appeared behind Jey at one point and was taken out with a superkick, and Tama Tonga met the same fate. Sioka entered ringside and explained that he was trying to help him. Breakker tried to spear Uso but instead speared Sikoa.

After Uso got into the ring and hit a splash on Breakker for a nearfall, Tonga and Loa distracted the referee. As Adam Pearce took them away, Uso went for a running spear on the outside but instead was met by a superkick from Fatu, then was taken out with a samoan drop on top of the announce table. Breakker then shoved Uso back in the ring and connected with a spear to win the Intercontinental title for a second time, ending Uso’s reign after only 28 days.

Since his return at Bad Blood, Jimmy Uso has been trying to convince Roman Reigns to bring Jey Uso back into the fold as their feud with the new version of The Bloodline has heated up. Reigns has been hesitant despite The Bloodline having a clear numbers advantage, and Jey has shown no interest. On the last episode of SmackDown, Jey Uso appeared and asked Sikoa to stop trying to divide the family. Sikoa responded that he wasn’t trying to divide the family, he was trying to unite them.

Bron Breakker vs. Kofi Kingston booked for next week’s WWE Raw

Two matches are official for the Monday, October 14 WWE Raw episode.

A pair of former Intercontinental Champions will go head-to-head next week as Bron Breakker faces Kofi Kingston. Breakker attacked Kingston, Xavier Woods, and current IC Champion Jey Uso on Monday’s Raw following Uso’s successful title defense against Woods.

Uso ended Breakker’s first IC title reign on the September 23 Raw, while Kingston has held the Intercontinental title four times in his WWE career.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will also be on the line on next week’s episode.

As revealed during Monday’s Raw, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill will defend their Tag titles against IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL on next week’s episode.

The October 14 WWE Raw is being taped in St. Louis Monday night following the conclusion of this week’s episode.

The announced card for the show:

  • Bron Breakker vs. Kofi Kingston
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill defend against Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane & IYO SKY)

Jey Uso wins Intercontinental title on WWE Raw

Jey Uso has won his first singles title in WWE.

Uso ended Bron Breakker’s reign as Intercontinental Champion in the main event of Monday’s Raw. The finish had Breakker kick out of a Samoan splash as the two ended up on the outside. Breakker circled around the ring to spear Uso, but Uso dodged at the last second, sending Breakker through the barricade. Uso took Breakker back into the ring, hit a spear, and then connected with another Samoan splash for the surprise win. The show ended with Uso celebrating in the crowd with the title as pyro went off.

This ends Breakker’s reign with the title after 51 days, having defeated Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam on August 3.

Uso won a fatal four-way on Raw two weeks ago to become the new number-one contender for Breakker’s title by defeating Butch, Braun Strowman, and Ilja Dragunov. Shortly before the main event, Zayn approached Uso, saying the Intercontinental title meant everything to him, and wanted Uso to make it his.

Show Recap —

Raw opened with a shot of fans waiting in line to buy merchandise. Bron Breakker, Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre were shown arriving at the arena. Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan drove up in a red lowrider.

As Morgan and Dom entered through the arena’s loading dock, Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman crashed through a nearby merchandise stand, and officials scampered in after them. (Not sure why there was a merch stand in the loading dock which is inaccessible to the public.)

Morgan and Dom kept walking and made their entrance to the ring. Morgan was booed as she gladly took a victory lap because her revenge tour was going according to plan. Morgan took everything from Rhea Ripley just like she promised she would. The world title, the Judgment Day and Dom were all hers.

Rhea Ripley entered to a big reaction. She told Morgan to shut up. Ripley entered the ring and assured Morgan she wouldn’t hit her. Dom tried to stand up to her but she told him to get out of her face.

Morgan said Dom might still be with her if she showed him half as much attention as Damian Priest. Morgan figured Ripley was out here to announce that her injured leg would keep her out of their title match. Morgan said Ripley wasn’t getting out of their match. Morgan wasn’t bigger or stronger than Ripley but she would win because she was smarter.

Ripley announced that she was fully cleared. Not only that but Dom would be where he belonged—behind bars. Dom would be locked in a shark cage (hanging above the ring). Ripley planned on winning back the one thing she never lost. Ripley headbutted Morgan.

(A version of the Chevrolet Impala lowrider Liv and Dom used is being sold as a toy by Mattel. It comes with a Rey Mysterio figure.)

********

Sami Zayn defeated Ludwig Kaiser (12:18)

They went to break after Kaiser shoved Zayn off the barricade into the timekeeper’s area and onto Samantha Irvin’s leather chair. Zayn fought back and hit a sunset flip powerbomb for two. Zayn went for Helluva Kick but Kaiser slipped out of the ring and drove Zayn into the steel steps. Kaiser ran around the ring and dropkicked Zayn into the steps.

Zayn barely beat the referee’s ten count so Kaiser hammered away at him. Zayn fought back but Kaiser raked his eyes and applied a cradle with his feet on the middle rope but the ref caught him. Kaiser argued with the ref so Zayn grabbed him and hit an exploder in the corner. Zayn went for Helluva Kick again but Kaiser caught him with an enziguri for a nearfall.

Zayn countered a DDT into a German suplex and finally hit the Helluva Kick for the pinfall win. This was good and the crowd was into Zayn.

— Gunther (in his gear) marched out after the match. Gunther teased giving Zayn a world title match right now in Ontario but it was a swerve. Gunther’s answer was still “no.” Gunther chuckled and left.

********

New Day segment

Kofi Kingston approached Xavier Woods in the back. Woods was happy to see him and took responsibility for last week. Kingston told him it was all water under the bridge. They agreed it was time to get New Day back on track as they approached their tenth anniversary.

Kingston went into the archives and found boxes of Booty O’s and Franchesca the trombone. (The crowd actually cheered upon seeing the Booty O’s.) Woods said all that stuff was fine when you were on top but they haven’t been champions in three years.

Kingston understood and said it didn’t make sense to go backwards. He admitted to not making great decisions lately. Kingston said Woods should call the shots and be the QB over the next few weeks. They shook hands.

American Made showed up and laughed at them. Chad Gable called them has-beens who were trying to reignite a dead spark. Kingston acted like Uncle Howdy was behind them and they freaked out until they realized no one was behind them. (That was funny.)

Gable settled down and said they were done with the Wyatts and wanted real competition. Woods challenged them to a match and Gable accepted. American Made left.

With Woods’ back turned, some guy showed up behind him wearing a unicorn hat and holding a plate full of pancakes but Kingston quickly and discreetly motioned for him to leave (before Woods noticed). The crowd popped for that.

********

Liv and Dom argued with Adam Pearce about the shark cage. He told them Dom was going in the cage and that was final. Pearce left. Carlito and JD McDonagh showed up. Carlito assured Morgan that he would beat Dragon Lee tonight and Morgan said Dom and McDonagh would be ringside with him.

They bumped into Ilja Dragunov who knew McDonagh would do nothing to him without Finn BĂĄlor by his side. McDonagh said Dragunov was lucky they were busy. Dragunov told them to keep walking.

********

Dragon Lee (w/Zelina Vega, Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) defeated Carlito (w/Dominik Mysterio & Tag Team Champion JD McDonagh) (2:14)

Dom and McDonagh took out Del Toro and Wilde so Rey Mysterio suddenly appeared and wiped them out with a dive off the barricade. Dragon Lee used the distraction to apply a schoolboy but Carlito kicked out. Dragon Lee hit his version of Destino moments later for the pinfall win.

This was Dragon Lee’s first TV win since June and first singles win since March.

********

Karrion Kross approached Miz as he warmed up for his match against Reed. Basically, Kross tried to talk up Miz without Miz realizing he was being played.

********

[SECOND HOUR]

Netflix staff were in the front row and they were given a shout-out.

Cathy Kelley interviewed Sheamus. He kept referring to Pete Dunne as “Butch.” He had a score to settle and as his ancestors always said, there was nothing more dangerous than an Irishman with a score to settle.

********

The Miz vs. Bronson Reed

The match didn’t happen. Strowman leaped off the barricade and knocked down Reed during his entrance. Miz got in Strowman’s face so Reed knocked them both down with a suicide dive. Security ran down but Reed stacked two guys up and hit them both with a Tsunami (the guy on the bottom got crunched). Strowman gave two guards a double chokeslam.

They teased a superplex (and perhaps the ring-breaking spot) but security got in the way. Dozens of security kept running out and kept getting killed. Strowman set up for a dive onto Reed and security but Reed escaped.

********

Mark Sanchez (former NFL QB) and Adam Jones (Tool guitarist, not the baseball player) were shown ringside.

Drew McIntyre segment

McIntyre started by repeating CM Punk’s final words from his promo last week when he said he was prepared for this to be the end. He’s been thinking about Punk’s words and the look in his eyes all week. He knew Punk meant every word. For once, Punk was real. Punk was ready to sacrifice it all for this to end and so was McIntyre.

McIntyre was always honest, especially when it came to Punk. McIntyre admitted he did not want to go back inside Hell in a Cell. He’s been in the cell before and it’s broken things inside of him that still have not been fixed. McIntyre’s family has begged him not to do this match just like Punk’s. McIntyre’s wife has begged him for months to get away from Punk because she could see what it was doing to him mentally. (The crowd chanted for Punk.)

It didn’t matter what anyone thought because this match was happening at Bad Blood. McIntyre promised to make Punk bleed—a lot. Punk would suffer and feel more pain than he has ever felt. It was appropriate that Punk compared himself to the devil because this was always about good versus evil. Punk compared himself to a supernatural being because he saw himself as a god-like figure but he was just a man. A man that McIntyre has easily broken in the past and a man he will break permanently inside Hell in a Cell.

********

Jackie Redmond asked Pearce about the chaos involving Reed and Strowman. Pearce wanted things to stop between them and knew a regular match wouldn’t end it so he announced a “last monster standing” match.

Pearce ran off toward another nearby commotion. Sheamus was down and Dunne was choking him with a cricket bat. Dunne stopped upon seeing Pearce but hit him in the back with the bat. Officials carried Dunne away as he told Sheamus not to call him Butch.

********

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill approached Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane. Belair looked forward to facing Sky again because the result would be different next time. Sky looked forward to it because the next time they fought, it would be as teams for the tag titles. Cargill and Belair assured them the titles were not going anywhere.

IYO SKY & Kairi Sane defeated Unholy Union (9:45)

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn took control and worked over Sane through a break. After the break, Sky made a hot tag and knocked down both women with a double springboard dropkick. Dawn gave Sky a cheapshot and Fyre applied a cradle for two.

Sane wiped out Fyre with an Insane Elbow outside the ring and Sky hit Dawn with a moonsault for the pinfall win. The crowd popped for the win. They seem particularly into Sky.

********

Kelley interviewed Bron Breakker. Bron said it was game day which meant the dogs were barking in Ontario (the fans barked). It also meant there would be a winner and a loser. The championship deserved the right ‘superstar’ to carry it over their shoulder and it wouldn’t be Jey Uso.

Bron said somebody was getting their ass kicked and it wasn’t going to be him. Bron was willing to offer Jey another shot at the title down the road when he worked his way back up the ladder because Bron was going to be champion for a long time.

********

There was a quick teaser video. A fiery logo appeared on the screen as a voiceover said, “Fate is woven.”

********

Joe Tessitore announced tonight’s Raw was the 40th TV sellout of 2024.

They aired the entire Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns segment from Smackdown.

********

[THIRD HOUR]

Sami Zayn approached Jey Uso. Zayn said the IC title meant the world to him and he wanted Jey to make it his tonight. They shook hands.

********

The Creed Brothers (w/Chad Gable & Ivy Nile) defeated Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods (15:13)

Woods once again wore black while Kingston wore green.

They had a back-and-forth match for the first five minutes. Julius Creed gave Kingston a superplex while Woods gave Brutus Creed a superplex ahead of a break. The Creeds seemed to get the heat during the break although we never saw any replays. Woods made a hot tag but the ref didn’t see it so he forced Kingston back to the apron as the Creeds double-teamed Woods.

Woods eventually hit Brutus with a missile dropkick and made the hot tag to Kingston who hit Julius with chops and a dropkick. Kington wiped out both Creeds with a trust fall dive and hit Julius with a flying crossbody in the ring for two.

Julius ducked Trouble in Paradise but Kingston countered his counter and hit Trouble in Paradise anyway. Kingston tagged in Woods before wiping out Brutus with a flip dive.

Woods went to the top for his finisher but distracted himself by going after Gable who appeared on the apron. Woods yanked Gable into the ring. Woods lost his cool and aggressively stomped him in the corner.

When Woods finally stopped, Julius clocked him with a knee. Kingston tried to assist but Julius knocked him out of the ring. The Creeds hit Woods with Brutus Ball for the pinfall win.

This loss was Woods’ own fault.

********

Damian Priest video promo

Growing up, there was a saying Priest liked to use: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” On the streets, they knew better, because someone was always willing to take what you had. Life can take you to some unexpected places. Life brought him to Judgment Day. A crew that became a family. A family that gave him a brother to keep: Finn BĂĄlor. They talked about running WWE and that’s exactly what they did but BĂĄlor always wanted it to be about him.

When Ripley became champ,  Priest was happy but Bálor was envious. Priest became champ and Bálor had the same face of envy. Priest should have seen it coming. Bálor was not his brother and Priest would rip his heart out at Bad Blood. (His final line was in Spanish but I believe that’s what he said.)

*******

Uncle Howdy video

There was a new VHS tape with the following words (no voice):

I am but dust
A worm
A rebel
You cast your light of countenance upon me
And said I shall live
The words of the red
You speak, we follow

********

There was yet another non-wrestling segment, this time a Pure Fusion Collective video. They are the future of the women’s division. If you want to step up, shoot your shot.

********

Woods and Kingston were backstage and seemed to be on the same page. Rey Mysterio and LWO approached. Rey apologized for what happened last week but Woods dismissed it. Rey knew they could get through this because they were the New Day. Woods said this type of advice would be better suited for his son, Dom.

Rey said he didn’t have time for this because he had to deal with BĂĄlor next week. Woods was offended that Rey thought BĂĄlor was more important than him because he was a former world champion, while Woods wasn’t. Kingston tried to calm down Woods who was pissed.

Rey had enough and said BĂĄlor could wait. He challenged Woods to a match next week and he accepted. LWO left. Kingston, understandably, didn’t understand why Woods was so upset but of course, Woods thought he was in the right.

********

Next week on Raw in Evansville, IN

  • Last “monster” standing match: Bronson Reed vs. Braun Strowman
  • Kofi Kingston vs. Chad Gable
  • Xavier Woods vs. Rey Mysterio

********

Jey’s entrance started on the concourse surrounded by fans. The camera followed as he entered through the crowd.

Jey Uso defeated Bon Breakker to win the Intercontinental Championship (20:21)

Jey hit a suicide dive which led to a break 90 seconds into the match. Wade Barrett let us know Jey has been dominating from the get-go but Bron hit a powerslam after the break to take control. Bron whipped Jey into the corner and hit an overhead suplex. They took turns trying a vertical suplex until Bron dropped Jey over the top rope.

Bron hit a backbreaker and let go of his cover at one to do pushups. He taunted Jey who came back with a kick and tried a suicide dive but Bron knocked him down. Bron smashed his head against the announce table. Bron leaped off the apron and tackled Jey over the table.

Jey came back with strikes to the sound of “Yeet,” and a running hip attack for two. Bron avoided a splash and hit a gut-buster for two. Jey hit a pop-up Samoan drop for two. Bron hit a Frankensteiner for two. The crowd chanted, “This is awesome.” Bron got the better of a strike exchange and hit a powerslam for two.

Jey slipped out of the ring so Bron cut him down with a running spear. Bron dropped his straps and went for a spear in the ring but Jey hit a spear of his own. Jey hit an Uso splash and the crowd for sure thought it was over but Bron kicked out. The crowd chanted, “Ref you suck.”

Bron went for another spear outside the ring but Jey cut him off with a superkick and speared him through the barricade. Jey hit another spear and an Uso splash for the pinfall win.

Jey Uso is the new IC champion. The crowd exploded. Fireworks went off as Jey celebrated in the crowd.

(This was great. Some people may be upset that Bron lost but the crowd reaction here tells you all you need to know.)

Show Recap —

There was a long video recapping recent events involving Judgment Day. The new version of the stable was shown arriving at the arena, as were Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and Bron Breakker.

Rhea Ripley segment

Ripley entered to a big reaction. She said she had a lot of time to consider what happened at SummerSlam. She’s felt every emotion you can in a situation like this. She felt embarrassment and heartbreak, but really, she was just pissed the hell off.

Dominik Mysterio stabbed her in the back but “it just wasn’t deep enough” — and he’s probably heard that before. (The crowd enjoyed that line.) Ripley warned Liv Morgan that she couldn’t run away forever because she was Rhea bloody Ripley and it was time to remind them of that.

Morgan and Dom appeared in the top row of the arena’s lower level. Morgan handed the mic to Dom who was loudly booed. Ripley enjoyed the booing but wanted to hear what he had to say. Dom said he was a man and deserved to be treated like one. The crowd told him that he sucked.

Dom said Ripley tried to change him instead of letting him be him. He was embarrassed being bossed around, forced to call her, “Mami,” but now he had a girl who called him Daddy. She gave him chicken tendies and let him play video games whenever he wanted. She also helped him beat his deadbeat dad, something Ripley never did.

Ripley had words for Dom that he hadn’t heard in a while: “I’m proud of you.” Watching Dom grow into the man he is today was one of her biggest accomplishments. He finally did something for himself and won gold. However, Ripley always wanted Dom to beat Rey on his own. Now Dom was making his own decisions but the most recent one would be his last.

Morgan told Ripley that she had nothing left. Her real family was miles away and Morgan took Judgment Day away from her. Dom was hers, the world title was hers and the women’s division was hers.

Ripley told Morgan she made a mistake by leaving her standing and that she would have to kill her to stop her. Ripley was glad Morgan liked the sound of her own voice because it gave them time to find her.

Damian Priest appeared behind them and he attacked Dom in the concourse area. Morgan tried to help but Ripley chased her away as Priest chased Dom down to ringside. Carlito tried to help but Priest sent him out of the ring.

(This segment was fine but you didn’t miss anything if you didn’t see it. The show was 8 minutes old by the time Ripley spoke and 19 minutes old by the time this segment was done.)

Damian Priest defeated Carlito (9:20)

Carlito had control through a break (and probably got more offence than he should have) but Priest came back with a falcon arrow, clothesline, and South of Heaven for the pinfall win.

— Judgment Day attacked Priest after the match but Ripley’s music hit (even though she was just out there) and she ran out to make the save. She kicked Carlito low and confronted Finn BĂĄlor. JD McDonagh took a superkick for BĂĄlor who managed to escape. Priest gave McDonagh a chokeslam.

Priest and Ripley hugged. Dom actually tried to attack them off the top as they hugged but Priest caught him by the throat, which was funny. Priest handed Dom to Ripley who tried Rip-tide but Morgan pulled him out of the ring.

********

Ivy Nile told Maxxine Dupri she probably shouldn’t be at ringside for the tag match later. Nile was sincere but Dupri said she wasn’t leaving her family (Otis and Tozawa) behind. Nile figured Dupri might say that. She left.

********

Bo Dallas video

There was a new Wyatt Sicks VHS featuring Bo Dallas. He said everything was coming full circle. It’s been heavy lately with lots of emotions. The Wyatt Sicks debuted in Baltimore last week, just as the original Wyatt family did. He (Bray) was there (in spirit). Something big was happening but the work wasn’t done. He repeated the phrase, “My life, for you,” as shots of Uncle Howdy spliced in.

********

Xavier Woods approached Kofi Kingston and Odyssey Jones. Woods said he’d been looking for Kingston everywhere because he wanted to talk about tonight. Kingston was excited and also wanted to talk about tonight. Jones had their back last week so they’d be in his corner for his debut match. Woods was on board but was obviously not thrilled with how this played out.

Odyssey Jones (w/The New Day) defeated Vincent Winey (1:45)

Winey is a former football player working at the Performance Center. Jones beat him quickly with a spinning sidewalk slam.

— Karrion Kross entered with Final Testament after the match. Kross warned Woods that Jones would be his replacement. Woods asked if Kross was tired of doing this every week. Woods was about to challenge one of them to a singles match but Kingston grabbed the mic. Kingston knew everyone would just get involved anyway so he challenged them to a six-man match. Kross accepted. Kingston “misspoke” and called them “Final Testicle.”

********

Drew McIntyre approached Adam Pearce. Pearce told him that CM Punk wasn’t there due to travel issues. McIntyre didn’t care about Punk and wanted to know why Smackdown’s Randy Orton was getting a title shot. Orton got screwed three months ago and sat around like a snake waiting for an opportunity. Orton got screwed once but McIntyre has been screwed over repeatedly.

McIntyre planned on taking care of this himself. Pearce didn’t like the sound of that but McIntyre assured him that he would be on his best behaviour.

********

Otis and Tozawa entered for their match. Oba Femi was ringside with his NXT North American Championship belt in hand. He had a staredown with Otis who blew him off. The announcers noted that Femi has an open challenge scheduled on NXT tomorrow.

[SECOND HOUR]

They aired a video of Chad Gable who wasn’t with the Creeds because he was in Paris, France. Gable said he needed to get away but was also there to watch the Olympic gold medal matches to do some scouting. Gable knew he had to get back home to take care of unfinished business with the Wyatts.

The announcers congratulated Masai Russell on winning gold in the 100m hurdles. They mentioned she was part of WWE’s NIL program and could be a WWE superstar one day.

Tornado tag team match: Julius & Brutus Creed defeated Otis & Akira Tozawa (w/Maxxine Dupri) (11:58)

Otis press slammed Tozawa onto the Creeds ahead of a break. The Creeds were in control after the break until Tozawa dropped them with a double DDT. Otis ran them over and slammed Julius before hitting a Caterpillar but Brutus broke up the cover. The Creeds double-teamed Otis but Tozawa broke up the cover.

Brutus tried to powerbomb Tozawa off the ropes but Tozawa brought him down with a hurricanrana. Tozawa fired up on the Creeds and went for a suicide dive but his leg caught the rope and he fell awkwardly (Julius did his best to catch him).

Julius got Otis on his shoulders and did an electric chair drop as Otis simultaneously brought down Brutus with a superplex. Tozawa immediately followed with a flying senton on Julius. The crowd went nuts for all of this and chanted, “Holy sh*t.”

Ivy Nile suddenly appeared at ringside and attacked Dupri. Nile planted Dupri on the table and locked her in a dragon sleeper.

The distraction allowed the Creeds to knock Otis out of the ring. They stacked up Tozawa in a rollup for the pinfall win. This was pretty fun.

********

Pete Dunne interview

Jackie Redmond interviewed Pete Dunne in the empty arena earlier today. Redmond said Sheamus took Dunne under his wing when he came up from NXT but he cut her off. Dunne said Sheamus held him down while Dunne elevated Sheamus.

Sheamus went on the run of a lifetime because of him. All Dunne got out of it was a terrible nickname and a front-row seat to the Sheamus show. If Sheamus really had the Brutes under his wing, then where was Ridge Holland?

Redmond acknowledged the Butch name and Dunne said he never wanted to hear that name again. Dunne had to swallow his pride for two years. He wasn’t Butch, he was the Bruiserweight and an 18-year vet. If he had to shut Sheamus up to never hear that name again, then that’s what he’d do.

(I’m glad they gave Dunne a chance to talk and this was good. Although I fear his promo will just lead to the fans chanting Butch at him.)

*********

There was a silly “WWE Physics” video meant to analyze the destruction Bronson Reed handed out to Seth Rollins last week.

Pearce admonished Reed and told him he was lucky he only had to pay a fine. Reed said he warned Pearce last week but would give him a second chance tonight. Pearce could find him an opponent tonight or he’d find his next victim.

********

Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane cut a pre-taped promo (in English and Japanese). They were still in control and Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark would pay for what they did to Dakota Kai.

There was a response video by Sonya Deville, Baszler and Stark. Their new stable name is “Pure Fusion Collective.” They said they’ve ripped through the tag division before and had no problem doing it again.

********

There was a memorial graphic for Kevin Sullivan.

********

Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre (the tag team champions) entered to watch this match from ringside.

“WWE legend” Candice Michelle was shown in the audience.

IYO SKY & Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark (w/Sonya Deville) via disqualification (8:30)

They went to break after 90 seconds, wrestled for a bit after the break, then it ended in a DQ.

Sky was in control but a distraction by Deville got in the way. Stark tried to superkick Sky outside the ring but Sky ducked and Stark superkicked Fyre. Sky had it won after hitting a moonsault in the ring but Dawn and Fyre attacked for the DQ. Dawn and Fyre laid out Sky and Sane after the match.

This was a number one contender’s match so we’ll have to wait to find out what the decision is. Damage CTRL technically won but they never make official announcements after the match when it ends in a dumb DQ.

R-Truth approached The Miz who was not in a good mood. Truth wanted to cheer him up so he got him a title match against “Bron.” Miz was excited until he realized Bron Breakker already had a match against Sami Zayn tonight and freaked out upon realizing his match was actually against Bronson Reed.

Randy Orton appeared to give Miz a pep talk. Orton ran down Miz’s accomplishments that he always repeats himself (leaving out the time Miz cashed in MITB on him) and told him he could do it. This hyped up Miz who ran off in excitement. Truth asked Orton if he really thought Miz had a chance and Orton scoffed.

[THIRD HOUR]

Randy Orton and Gunther segment, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk interrupt

Orton entered to a big reaction. Orton said he won the world title 20 years ago this month and he became the youngest world champion in history. History would repeat itself at Bash in Berlin and he would become a 15-time champion.

Gunther interrupted. Orton wanted the fans to remember this moment because in a few weeks, Gunther would no longer be champion and Monday nights would be Orton’s new home. Gunther also wanted the fans to remember this moment because they got to see Orton who was one of the greatest of all time.

Gunther said Orton should be the greatest of all time. Orton was the most talented man this business has seen but he took all of that talent and wasted it. This was a new era, the era of the Ring General, and in his era, there was no room for people who wasted their potential. In the future of his era, Orton wouldn’t play a role anymore.

Orton said he never claimed to be perfect. He has made a lot of mistakes. More than anyone in the locker room. But he owned up to those mistakes and changed course. Orton wanted to remind him of something: he was the most unpredictable, violent, controversial and successful superstar in history. This wasn’t a curse, it was a gift.

Orton always did things his way. The American way. He had five beautiful kids at home, a hot-ass smoke-show of a wife, and was a soon-to-be 15-time champion. Orton appreciated Gunther’s opinion but thought he’s done pretty good for himself. (Of course, fans chanted, “USA.”)

Gunther didn’t think Orton was unpredictable. He was very predictable. Gunther had a few predictions himself. Orton would get a beating of a lifetime in Berlin and would never be champion again. When it really mattered, Orton always screwed up. Screwing up came naturally to him. Orton’s grandfather and father were both screwups and Randy was the biggest screwup of them all.

The crowd waited for Orton to hit an RKO but McIntyre interrupted instead. Gunther turned to look at McIntyre but Orton turned him around and hit an RKO.

McIntyre was about to hit the ring but was attacked by CM Punk. McIntyre shoved him aside and tried to attack with his belt but Punk grabbed the belt and attacked McIntyre with it. Punk whipped McIntyre with the belt until he escaped through the crowd.

********

Redmond interviewed Sheamus. He still didn’t understand what Dunne’s issue was even after hearing his interview. Ludwig Kaiser interrupted and warned Sheamus that it wasn’t over between them. Kaiser wanted to put an end to Sheamus once and for all.

Dunne attacked Sheamus from behind with the shillelagh and clobbered his hand with it.

********

Cathy Kelley interviewed Punk in the back. (A pissed-off Gunther marched off in the background.) Kelley mentioned Punk’s supposed travel issues but noted they were on the same flight to Austin and she had no such travel issues.

Punk admitted to telling a little white lie. He knew McIntyre wouldn’t show up if he did. He told a lie to get his hands on McIntyre because he was still running around with his bracelet. Punk didn’t care about the actual bracelet and said McIntyre could keep it.

Punk wanted McIntyre to keep his wife’s name and his dog’s name out of his mouth. Punk travelled a long way to get his hands on McIntyre. McIntyre would call him a hypocrite for telling a lie but McIntyre ran from a fight he claimed he wanted. Punk held up the belt and said he had a great idea.

Bronson Reed defeated The Miz (w/R-Truth) (6:35)

Miz made a comeback after a break, including a tornado DDT for just a one count. Miz hit It Kicks which Reed no-sold. Miz tried a springboard crossbody but Reed caught him and hit a DVD. Reed followed with a DVD and Tsunami for the pinfall win.

— Reed went for another Tsunami but Truth saved Miz so Reed gave him consecutive Tsunamis instead. (Miz vanished.) Pearce and officials ran out but Reed continued with two more until officials dragged Truth away. They stupidly dragged him to another corner so Reed just went over there and hit another one. Pearce yelled at Reed as he left but he returned to the ring and hit one more Tsunami. The crowd was into this.

********

Jey Uso hyped up Sami Zayn backstage. Jey said Zayn would beat Bron and beat him again, and the two of them would beat Judgment Day again to win the tag titles. Zayn was pumped and they did their fancy handshake.

********

Announced for Bash in Berlin: Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest vs. Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio in a mixed tag match.

There was a quick Judgment Day video promo. Morgan and Dom said they would beat Ripley and Priest. Finn warned Priest to watch out for “Backstabber BĂĄlor.”

2-out-of-3 falls match: Bron Breakker defeated Sami Zayn to retain the Intercontinental Championship (17:32)

They went to break 50 seconds into the match after Zayn hit a flip dive and Bron was in control after the break. Bron hit a spinebuster for two and Zayn responded with a tornado DDT for two. Bron hit a German suplex but Zayn suddenly caught him moments later with a Helluva Kick to win the first fall (7:00 into the match).

Zayn tried a moonsault off the barricade but Bron caught him, ran toward the other side and chucked him into the timekeeper’s area. (The cameraperson ran behind Bron to get a continuous action shot, but Bron’s foot rose up and knocked the camera back slightly so we missed Zayn going over the barricade. It was a cool idea but the full replay looked way better because Zayn actually bounced off a leather chair upon landing.)

There were duelling chants of “Let’s go Sami” and “Let’s go Breakker” following another break. Bron hit a Frankensteiner for a nearfall. Bron followed with a press slam and consecutive spears to win the second fall (12:34 into the match).

Zayn tried to surprise Bron with a crucifix cover but Bron kicked out at two. Bron leaned Zayn against the announce table and hit a flying clothesline off the apron. Bron was willing to take a count-out win but Zayn made it back in at nine. Bron went after him but Zayn hit a sunset flip sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall.

Bron blocked an exploder and hit an overhead suplex. Zayn leaped over a spear attempt and applied a schoolboy for a nearfall. Bron followed with a dropkick and went for a spear but Zayn booted him for a nearfall.

Zayn tried something off the top but Bron speared him out of the air for the pinfall win.

Two-out-of-three falls Intercontinental title match official for next WWE Raw

A SummerSlam rematch is set for next week’s Raw.

On this week’s show, Sami Zayn was despondent backstage over his loss against Bron Breakker on Saturday. Jey Uso attempted to cheer him up, saying he knew he’d get his title back in a rematch. Zayn then revealed he already went to Adam Pearce and got the rematch for next week. The graphic for the next Raw announced it would be a two-out-of-three falls match.

Breakker defeated Zayn at SummerSlam to win the Intercontinental title for the first time, ending Zayn’s reign that started at WrestleMania 40.

Also set for next week is Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Kairi Sane) taking on Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler in a match that will determine the next contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. During Monday’s show, Damage CTRL came out and attacked the trio of Sonya Deville, Stark, and Baszler. The latter trio responded by taking out Dakota Kai backstage, injuring her knee. When Deville came out for her match against Kai, SKY took her place, scoring the win for Damage CTRL.

Here is the lineup for next week’s Raw:

  • Two out of three falls match for WWE Intercontinental title: Bron Breakker defends against Sami Zayn
  • Number one contender’s match for WWE Women’s Tag Team titles: Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Kairi Sane) vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark

Bron Breakker wins Intercontinental title at WWE SummerSlam

Bron Breakker did it on his second try.

Breakker captured the Intercontinental title from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. The match only lasted about five minutes, with Zayn gaining control early after dodging a spear, sending Breakker into the turnbuckle. However Breakker bounced back and hit two spears, winning the title for the first time.

This ends Zayn’s run with the title after 119 days, defeating Gunther at WrestleMania 40 and ending his own historic reign with the title after 666 days. Gunther had been the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion.

Breakker’s father Rick and uncle Scott Steiner, as well as Diamond Dallas Page, were seen in the crowd celebrating following his win.

After failing to win the title at Money in the Bank last month, Breakker at first acted like he had no reason to deserve a rematch. However, that turned out to be a ruse as Breakker jumped Zayn following a confrontation on Raw, indicating he wasn’t done. On the July 22 edition of Raw, Breakker became number one contender again after defeating Ilja Dragunov.

Sami Zayn: Bron Breakker has a ‘very magnetic personality’ that fans will eventually see

Sami Zayn believes Bron Breakker has all of the necessary tools to reach WWE stardom.

When SummerSlam takes place in Cleveland this Saturday, Zayn will put his Intercontinental title on the line against Breakker. Ahead of the match, Zayn appeared on Busted Open Radio and gave his thoughts on Breakker as a performer. Fans have seen Breakker’s intensity, but Zayn believes he also has a “magnetic personality” that will eventually make him a complete player in WWE.

“Anybody who takes a look at him, his trajectory has been incredible. His strength, his speed — obviously it jumps off the page. Actually, even personality wise, I know he’s not there yet in the sense that fans haven’t seen it yet, but this guy will have a very magnetic personality eventually when fans start to see that side of him,” Zayn said.

“So I think with enough time and enough finessing and just the right people telling him the right things, which as you know in our industry could always go awry with the wrong people telling you the wrong things — I think if he stays the path, he’s going to be a very complete player. And he’s going to be about more than just, ‘Oh, a strong guy who runs really fast and has a great spear.’ I think there’s a lot more to his game than that. And he’s going to be good. I just hope it’s not at my expense at SummerSlam.”

Breakker has also spoken highly of Zayn in interviews. He told the Getting Over wrestling podcast that working with Zayn is a “bucket list thing.”

Zayn vs. Breakker is a rematch from Money in the Bank, where Zayn managed to escape with a victory and retain the Intercontinental title. If Breakker wins on Saturday, it will be his first main roster championship reign. He was a two-time NXT Champion before being called up.

In addition to wrestling at SummerSlam, Zayn will be hosting a comedy show in Cleveland this Friday night.

Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker Intercontinental title match set for WWE SummerSlam

Bron Breakker is getting another Intercontinental title match.

Breakker defeated Ilja Draungov on Monday’s Raw to become the new number one contender for the title, earning a title match against Sami Zayn for SummerSlam on August 3. The finish had Dragunov attempting a strike off the apron, but Breakker countered with a spear in mid-air. After checking on Dragunov, the referee stopped the match and awarded the bout to Breakker.

The very end of Raw saw Breakker spear Zayn after he and Jey Uso defeated World Tag Team Champions Finn Balor & JD McDonagh.

After losing to Zayn at Money in the Bank, Breakker has continued to seek another title match. On last week’s Raw, he attacked both Dragunov and Zayn during their title match, ending the bout prematurely.

It was also announced on Raw that music star Jelly Roll will be performing at SummerSlam. An exchange between Jelly Roll and Triple H on X last week teased a possible appearance.

Here’s the current SummerSlam card with both official and expected matches based on recent TV:

  • WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes defends against Solo Sikoa
  • WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damien Priest defends against Gunther
  • WWE Women’s Champion Bayley defends against Nia Jax
  • WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan defends against Rhea Ripley
  • WWE U.S. Champion Logan Paul defends against LA Knight
  • WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn defends against Bron Breakker
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre with special guest referee Seth Rollins
  • Jelly Roll to perform

Bron Breakker: Sami Zayn is so good, working with him is a ‘bucket list thing’

Bron Breakker has enjoyed working with Sami Zayn during their Intercontinental title feud.

During an interview on the Getting Over wrestling podcast, Breakker said he’s having the time of his life since joining the WWE main roster. He’s excited for the future and is happy to be in a program with Zayn.

“It’s been great, man,” Breakker said about working with Zayn. “It’s been a heck of a time. You know, Sami is so good. Such a great dude. It’s just been a pleasure of mine to be able to share the ring with him. A bucket list thing for me. And I’m just excited for the years to come.”

Zayn managed to retain his Intercontinental title against Breakker at Money in the Bank. It looks like they’ll be facing each other again at SummerSlam next month, potentially in a triple threat match with Ilja Dragunov added. Breakker interrupted a Zayn vs. Dragunov title match on Raw this Monday and laid out both of them.

When asked if there’s anyone in WWE who he’s looked up to as a mentor, Breakker named Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and CM Punk as people who have helped him. He said the locker room as a whole has been very welcoming and supportive.

Breakker was a two-time NXT Champion before being called up. If he wins the Intercontinental title at SummerSlam, it will be Breakker’s first title reign on the main roster.
