Mystery man appears during men’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames match

A mystery man pantomiming Seth Rollins’ moves helped The Vision-led team to victory in the men’s WarGames match at Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series.

CM Punk had hit a GTS on Logan Paul for a nearfall when a masked man completely clad in black scaled the cage and stared at Punk before hitting a superkick and a stomp before escaping. Bron Breakker then hit his running spear on Punk to get the pin and win.

The commentary team speculated it looked like Rollins with Wade Barrett noting Rollins just had shoulder surgery but that Paul Heyman always has a plan.

Punk teamed with Roman Reigns, Jey & Jimmy Uso, Cody Rhodes against Paul, Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre.

The PLE ended with an annoyed looking Reigns walking away from a Rhodes handshake attempt and a half-hearted fist bump with Punk. Reigns has made it clear recently he wants another World title reign.

WarGames match highlights:

  • The match featured blood as Punk was busted open by McIntyre and Breakker after being thrown into the cage with Rhodes later bleeding as well.
  • Breakker landed right on the top of his head off a Doomsday Device by Punk and Rhodes. He was out of action for several minutes until getting back in the mix.
  • There was some Punk/Rhodes tension after an accidental back elbow early in the match. The duo smoothed things over later with some Dusty Rhodes-inspired combo offense.
  • Heyman gave Paul some brass knucks which Reigns eventually got ahold of to knockout McIntyre and Reed before he went heads-up against Breakker.
  • In what will be a talked about spot, Jey Uso temporarily halted proceedings during the match to “run it back” and do his Yeet entrance. That was stopped shortly after when Lesnar made his entrance.
  • Lesnar came out of the cage as Reigns made his entrance. Reigns landed three Superman punches but on his fourth, Lesnar caught him and put him through an announce table with an F5. Lesnar rammed him into the cage and threw him in to officially start the match.

WarGames entrance order:

  1. CM Punk/Bron Breakker
  2. Drew McIntyre
  3. Cody Rhodes
  4. Logan Paul
  5. Jimmy Uso
  6. Bronson Reed
  7. Jey Uso
  8. Brock Lesnar
  9. Roman Reigns

The time is now for WWE’s youth movement to truly begin | Column

The following is opinion-based and reflects that of the author and not our website.

It’s customary in professional wrestling promotions to start early when elevating young talent. All-Japan Pro Wrestling did so in the 1990s with the Four Pillars of Heaven. New Japan Pro Wrestling has achieved this with three iterations of the Three Musketeers and through the development of Kazuchika Okada. In fact, their Young Lion system is for the sole purpose of priming young talent.

Recently, an image circulated on social media comparing the ages of WWE wrestlers in 2025 to those on the 2000 roster. Most of the wrestlers in the current main event picture are in their late 30s to their late 40s. Juxtaposed with 2000, it’s a considerable gap. For instance, The Rock and Big Show were in their late 20s, whereas the oldest was Steve Austin at 36. The 2000’s oldest are younger than 2025’s youngest, who was Gunther.

From an X post:

Though this is a broad overview, it’s symptomatic of a larger issue with WWE. Since the late 2010s, WWE has been hesitant in creating young stars who could generate money through rivalries and spectacular matches. Despite recent improvements following the regime change this decade, it seems that there are inconsistencies and gaps in what should be a melting pot of generations in WWE’s main roster.

When WWE Got it Right

Every so often, WWE would cultivate newer generations of wrestlers as previous iterations aged out. In the early ’90s, the roster included young Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Undertaker, Razor Ramon and Diesel. In the 2000s, the OVW class of John Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton found its footing. Even in the 2010s, The Shield and Wyatt Family highlighted who WWE wanted in the big picture as its future.

What these eras mean is that WWE understands there’s an importance in fostering later generations, just not when. For example, the Attitude Era only propelled WWE back into a boom period when they needed to move with the most popular stars from Austin to The Rock to Kurt Angle. When WCW forced Vince McMahon’s hand during those iconic 83 weeks, he had to reinvent so many ways in which he operated.

Through the merit of hungry talent competing to be the top dog, WWE prospered, eventually leaving WCW in the dust. Although, there’s a lot that factored into the outcome of the Monday Night Wars. That aside, if WWE could make the New Generation and Ruthless Aggression wrestlers become household names once before, they can do it again.

In fact, the WWE’s women’s division is an exception to the main roster product. There are already huge young stars. Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia are in their 20s to early 30s while talent beyond that range are still allowed to be in their notable spots. Now, stars are easily made in that division, while others can still hold their spots and help pass the torch when needed.

Pulling the Trigger

For the men’s roster, they haven’t been so lucky. Bron Breakker is already a huge star, but lacks that “umph” which could propel him higher. Following The Vision’s betrayal of Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel, he should have become a huge star instantly. That’s the moment you observe what landed in your lap. You pivot. Deliver something unpredictable that can utterly transform a talent overnight.

Instead, the following week, he was cost a spot in a battle royal to determine who would face CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. That should have been the spot to pull the trigger and instantly have someone feel like a megastar. Not every big plan has to wait until WrestleMania.

Similarly, Carmelo Hayes has toiled uncomfortably long after a grand series of matches against Andrade and a meandering program with The Miz. Back in NXT, Hayes was the top star in the men’s division, probably one of the best since the days of Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.

The hesitancy to pull the trigger at the right moment will cost WWE dearly when their top talents age out and there are few wrestlers left to fill their spots.

The Future is Now

CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Rey Mysterio, and Randy Orton will inevitably step away from the squared circle. John Cena and AJ Styles are already wrapping up their time in the limelight with their retirements looming at the time of this writing. Time is running out.

If they want to focus on the main roster, stars like Ilja Dragunov, Ludwig Kaiser and Rey Fenix can get an early start and easily fill those slots. NXT talent can also provide some additional substance to a main roster call-up. They could all readily take the torch passed to them and create an exciting future for WWE while also maintaining depth in the undercard. NXT is there for that reason whether it’s indie darlings traipsing into the Performance Center or new prospects like the NIL recruits.

With current champions CM Punk (World Heavyweight), John Cena (Intercontinental), and AJ Styles (World Tag Team) at a combined 140+ years old, the opportunity for more junior talent is there. Seizing gold from a huge name in the industry can alter a fresh talent’s trajectory rather speedily. That would be almost like if Batista or Orton ended the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak in the 2000s.

The Show Must Go On

It’s not as though fresh blood isn’t at the forefront of some of WWE’s biggest angles. Ripley remains one of the women’s division’s most recognizable stars with Stephanie Vaquer and Dominik Mysterio trailing closely behind, all three in their 20s. Bron Breakker is already in high gear, but is still far from reaching his full current potential. 28-year-old Maxxine Dupri’s year-long visible improvement culminated in her becoming Women’s Intercontinental Champion on last week’s Raw.

WWE will soon need drawing attractions that aren’t nostalgia pops. It pains me to say that as I must admit that I do genuinely love seeing the wrestlers I grew up watching still performing. But it’s time to paint the picture of the future. Holding back right now runs the risk of wrestlers not getting as over as they would have been the moment the iron should have been struck.

The audience wants to care. They want to invest. Don’t dangle the keys for too long, and don’t wait for some big PLE. Keep fans on their toes and leave them salivating to tune in before it’s too late.

Whether in a developmental role or jumping from another promotion, the way WWE positions newly-acquired wrestlers matters. For the company, finding out which talent can sink or swim makes all the difference for their bottom line.

As a fan, I’d love to see this type of development. One aspect that I love about AEW is that Tony Khan’s promotion has already created momentum for his young wrestlers. Most of their big stars are in their 20s and early 30s. They got over with the AEW crowds, and some have even won gold.

For a period, WWE almost shared this perspective on talent. After decades of squandering indie darlings and other promising prospects from the previous regime, the Paul Levesque era seemed optimistic in this regard. Instead, the company appears to be resting on its laurels, not bringing that same fiery energy seen from 2022-24.

I’m not declaring that the company must have young blood at the top of the card at all times, just that WWE needs to invest in fresher faces early to prepare for when their current biggest names step away.

Their time is now.

CM Punk praises ‘blue-chip’ WWE prospect Bron Breakker

CM Punk doesn’t think anything can stop Bron Breakker from becoming one of the biggest stars in the industry.

The two will be on the opposite sides of WarGames at Survivor Series, but Punk had high praise for Breakker this week during an appearance on the Mostly Sports podcast. Host Brandon Walker asked Punk if he sees Breakker as someone who will be the future of WWE.

“Yeah, I do. Whether I like it or not,” Punk responded. “And he’s somebody I think you wouldn’t be able to stop if you tried. He’s got all the tools. Second-generation superstar. His dad [Rick Steiner] and his uncle [Scott Steiner] were possibly one of the greatest tag teams of the 80s and the 90s. Yeah, he’s one of those blue-chip prospects that we always like to talk about.”

A blue-chip prospect is someone with high potential who is likely to become a superstar.

Punk and Breakker have been rivals since Breakker aligned with Paul Heyman as a member of The Vision. The November 29 Survivor Series PLE in San Diego will see Punk, Cody Rhodes, The Usos & Roman Reigns take on Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar inside of the WarGames cage.

On Mostly Sports, Punk discussed the strength of his Survivor Series opponents while jokingly taking a shot at Logan Paul.

“What a hell of a team on the bad guys’ side, huh? Unbelievable,” Punk said. “You talk about Survivor Series and teams, that team is stacked. It’s gotta be all-time. It’s gotta be all time — plus Logan Paul. There’s a lot of strong, beefy, you know, good-looking men on that team — and Logan Paul.”

Bron Breakker: It’s ‘been an honor’ to learn from John Cena

Bron Breakker — one of the top rising stars in WWE — feels honored to have gotten the chance to learn from John Cena.

Speaking with the Boston Herald, Breakker said he’s developed a line of communication with Cena and appreciates how approachable the WWE legend has been. Passing on knowledge and getting to speak with younger talent has been a priority for Cena as he nears retirement.

“It’s been an honor to learn from him,” Breakker said. “He’s a quality human being, and he makes himself approachable. We’ve developed an open line of communication, and I can’t say enough about him.”

Cena won the Intercontinental title from Dominik Mysterio on Raw this week. That was Cena’s final appearance in Boston as an active wrestler. He now only has three WWE dates before retirement: Raw at Madison Square Garden next Monday, Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29, and Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

The Boston Herald asked Breakker about potentially being one of Cena’s last opponents.

“There aren’t too many chances left, so it wouldn’t be something I would take lightly,” Breakker responded. “If I get that chance, I’ll be ready.”

Breakker is part of The Vision in WWE with Bronson Reed and their manager Paul Heyman. The men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series is slated to be Breakker, Reed & Logan Paul leading a team against CM Punk, Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso. More participants are still set to be added.

Logan Paul returns on WWE Raw, sides with top group

Logan Paul has resurfaced.

The former United States Champion made his return on Raw, wanting a shot at CM Punk’s World Heavyweight title. This caused the ire of The Vision, who laid claim to the title. The confrontation ended with a brawl, with Paul being taken out by a Tsunami before Punk chased the heels away with a steel chair. Later in the night, Punk and Jey Uso battled The Vision even after their match ended in a double count out. Paul came out to seemingly return the favor, but instead knocked out Punk with his brass knuckles, handing them to Paul Heyman to end the show.

The opening to Monday’s Raw saw new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk come out and challenge anyone from the back who has earned it to come out and challenge him, mentioning John Cena and Sheamus as potiental opponents. This brought out Paul, who Punk immediately rejected. He told Paul to go to SmackDown and challenge Ilja Dragunov. Paul responded by comparing himself to a Ferrari while he called Punk a used Honda Civic.

The Vision came out and interrupted their argument, with Heyman telling Paul to go to the back of the line because the front belonged to Reed and Breakker. Paul said he was there first. The confrontation eventually got physical with The Vision attacking Punk and shoving down Paul, who reacted by going after Reed and Breakker. Reed proceeded to lay Paul out with a Tsunami. The segment ended once Punk entered the ring with a steel chair, driving The Vision away.

Paul was last seen at WWE Clash in Paris back in August, losing to John Cena. He also wrestled earlier that month, teaming with Drew McIntyre to defeat Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.

WWE Raw live results: Seth Rollins injury fallout

Tonight’s WWE Raw on Netflix from Sacramento, California, will see three title matches in addition to the fallout from last week’s shocking angle involving Seth Rollins.

The two perpetrators — Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker — will appear alongside Paul Heyman to address their attack on their now-former Vision factionmate and what’s next for the group.

The future of Rollins’ World Heavyweight title could also be discussed tonight as well as Rollins’ injury.

Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title against Maxxine Dupri after their recent non-title match Dupri won by countout.

In a rematch from earlier this month, WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio will defend against Rusev.

WWE World Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) defend against AJ Styles & Dragon Lee thanks to the aforementioned Mysterio questioning Raw GM Adam Pearce’s motives.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

Live from Sacramento, California.

Adam Pearce’s Big Announcement

A recap of last week’s events set up Adam Pearce in the ring to provide a “physical update…” but that’s quickly interrupted by Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman and Bronson Reen entering the arena. Breakker had the WWE World Title belt over his shoulder. Pearce said that Rollins was banged up coming out of the match with Cody Rhodes, but Rollins was put out of action because of what Breakker and Reed did. Pearce stripped Rollins of the world title and announced a battle royal for tonight.

The winner of the battle royal goes on to Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City to face CM Punk for the vacant WWE World Championship. “Bron, I’m gonna need you to hand over that championship.” Breakker balked at the suggestion, but Heyman pulled him aside and seemingly talked some sense into him. Breakker eventually hands the belt over… to Heyman, who handed it over to Pearce.

Pearce left, and Heyman took a mic to explain his actions. Heyman didn’t dump Roman and betray Punk back at WrestleMania just to get to Seth. He did it to get the Vision, the future of WrestleMania Bron Breakker and the new Tribal Thief  Bronson Reed. Seth isn’t the leader of the vision; he’s a “bum shoulder b!tch.”

— The other members of the Judgement Day were agitated with Dominik Mysterio, who last week talked Adam Pearce into a tag team title defense against AJ and Dragon Lee tonight.

WWE World Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day (JD McDonough & Finn Balor) defend against Dragon Lee & AJ Styles

This is the second defense for the champions in 111 days, which Joe Tessitore claimed showed the champions are cowards, but I’d contend is a symptom of PLEs with only five matches on them. McDonough and Balor cut off Lee and worked him over in the their corner. McDonough came off the top with an axe handle. Styles got the tag and tried to run the ropes, but McDonough held them open and Styles tumbled to the floor heading into an ad break.

After the break, Dragon Lee got the tag and suplexed McDonough. Lee went to the top, but McDonough crotched him. McDonough got tied up hanging upside down in the corner, and Lee came off the top with a double stomp. Balor pulled McDonough out of the ring, and Lee followed them both out with a tope con hilo. Back in the ring, Lee went for a powerbomb on McDonough, but McDonough countered into a powerbomb of his own.

Styles and Balor got the tags. Balor caught Styles with a slingblade and dumped Lee. Styles came back with a Phenomenal Forearm, but McDonough broke up the pin attempt. Styles caught McDonough with a Pele kick, but McDonough came back with a Spanish Fly for a near fall. McDonough came off the top with a moonsault, Balor came off the top with the foot stomp, but Lee broke up the cover. Lee took out McDonough with a dive.  Styles blocked a Styles Clash from Balor, countered with a Styles Clash of his own, and Styles got the pinfall to win the tag tiles. New Champs!

Match Result: Dragon Lee & AJ Styles defeated JD McDonough & Finn Balor to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship (13:24)

In the back, Jimmy and Jey Uso made peace with each other ahead of the battle royal tonight.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defends against Rusev

Mysterio caught Rusev with a dive before he could get in the ring, then threw him into the ring steps. But once the match started, it was all Rusev, smashing Mysterio with a clothesline and mauling him with shoulderblocks in the corner. Rusev tried to kick off Mysterio’s new neck tattoo. Mysterio caught Rusev with a boot and came off the middle ropes with a pair of axe handle blows. Mysterio tried to set up for the 619, but Rusev came back with a clothesline that missed, but everyone decided to sell it like it hit anyway. Rusev dumped Mysterio to the floor with a fallaway slam heading into an ad break.

Back in the ring after a 3 minute commercial, Dominik hit a slingshot senton. Dom tried a suplex which Rusev blocked, but Dominik shifted his weight into a DDT for a near fall. Mysterio went to the top for a frog splash, but Rusev got his knees up. Rusev dropped Mysterio with a spinning uranage. Mysterio had enough and tried to leave, but Penta cut him off. Rusev threw Domink into Penta. Penta got in Rusev’s face, so Rusev knocked him out.

Back in the ring, Dominik went for the 619, but Rusev blocked it… and found the timekeeper’s bell in Mysterio’s boot. Rusev was going to use the hammer on Dom, but the ref grabbed the hammer away. As the ref and Rusev argued about the bell hammer, Mysterio kicked Rusev low, hit the 619 and then a frog splash to get the pinfall.

After the match, Penta hit Rusev with a springboard DDT.

Match Result: WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defeated Rusev to retain (9:20)

— UFC greats Max Griffin and Nate Diaz were shown in the crowd.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch defends against Maxxine Dupri

This is Becky’s 7th defense in 134 days. Dupri is from Sacramento, so she got a great reaction upon being announced.

Lynch mauled Dupri in the corner with forearms and shoulderblocks. Lynch went for the uranage, but Dupri countered with a rollup for a near fall. Lynch came back and dumped Dupri to the floor.

After a commercial, Dupri was still on the floor, struggling to get back in the ring. When she did, she caught Becky with a cradle, and countered another attempt at the uranage with a jawbreaker. Dupri hit a pair of flying clotheslines and a set up legdrop for a near fall. Dupri pulled down her straps and hit a running knee for a near fall. Boo/Yay punches, but Lynch got the advantage.

Dupri again escaped the uranage and caught Lynch with a kick, then locked in an ankle lock. Lynch kicked out the ankle lock, and went for an armbar. Dupri reversed the armbar back into the anklelock. Dupri came off the top with a crossbody for two, and Lynch rolled to the floor.  Lynch tried to leave with her belt, but Dupri brought her back to the ring. Lynch finally had enough and hit Dupri with the IC title belt, drawing the disqualification. Becky retained her championship.

After the match, Lynch drove a knee into Lynch’s face in the corner, then finally put her down with the uranage.

Match Result: Maxxine Dupri defeated WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch by disqualification (9:43)

Stephanie Vaquer came out to the ring for her match.

— At some point earlier in the night, a graphic displayed all the participants in the battle royal and included Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. But, Adam Pearce informed Paul Heyman that he’d had a new graphing made because Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker were out of the battle royal. Heyman was then was confronted by Becky Lynch. Just because Seth Rollins didn’t survive the day last week, there is still room for Becky Lynch in the Vision. Becky turns him down, then tried to spin it that Seth knew Heyman was going to turn on him. When Seth returns, he’ll take his aggressions out on whatever “nepo-baby” Heyman has attached himself to.

WWE World Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Roxanne Perez (w/ Raquel Rodriguez)

Vaquer tried for a package piledriver, but Perez escaped and dropped to the floor to regroup. Back in the ring, Vaquer tried for a cradle and got caught with a slap from Perez. Vaquer went for the Devil’s Kiss, but Perez escaped. Behind the ref’s back, Raquel Rodriguez caught Vaquer with a right hand.

After a break, Vaquer hit a suplex. Vaquer hit a meteoria in the corner, then took Perez out of the corner with a dragon screw leg whip. Vaquer got the Devil’s Kiss, but Vaquer was selling her left wrist was bothering her. Perez then attacked the wrist. Rodriguez distracted Vaquer on the apron, and then Perez snapped Vaquer’s arm against the ropes. Vaquer caught both Perez and Rodriguez with crossbody off the top to the floor.  Back in the ring, Vaquer hit the Angel’s Wings at got the pinfall.

Perez and Rodriguez attacked Vaquer after the match, but Nikki Bella ran in for the save. Vaquer tried to springboard back into the ring, but slipped and hurt her leg. Eventually Bella and Vaquer stood tall, double-dropkicking Perez out of the ring. This was kind of a mess.

Match Result: WWE World Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Roxanne Perez to retain (11:58)

— Lyra Valkyra and Bayley have a moment in the back, and Bayley has a surprise for Lyra next week.

— Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker need an explanation for why they’re not going to be in the battle royal tonight from Paul Heyman, who explains that Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns are all memorable thanks to him. This somehow satisfied them.

— Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer have a moment in the locker rooms and agree to have each other’s back.

Battle royal for WWE World Heavyweight title shot at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Just when it looked like things would get underway, CM Punk came out to join the color commentary team.

Otis and Rusev had a standoff after a hot start for Otis, but Rusev eliminated him. Rusev booted Tozawa and tossed him, too. Dragon Lee went for a springboard but McDonough and Balor caught him and sent him to the floor. Penta and Rusev brawled on the apron, and Dominik Mysterio shoved them both to the floor.

After a commercial, Ivar was squashing Jimmy Uso and AJ Styles in the corner. Sheamus and Ivar had a confrontation mid ring. They battled onto the ring apron, and Sheamus gave Ivar White Noise on the apron to eliminate him. El Grande Americano  loaded up his mask, but the Usos gave him a 1D and tossed him. Sheamus tried to eliminate Mysterio, but Balor and McDonough saved him. Sheamus eliminated McDonough and Balor. They then helped Kofi Kingston eliminate Sheamus from the floor. Sheamus brawled with McDonough and Balor, and the officials missed Styles toss Mysterio trying to braek that up. So Mysterio got back into the ring and was able to conitune in the match.

After another break, we’re left with AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston, LA Knight, Dominik Mysterio and The Usos. Kingston monkey-flipped Syles across the ring. Styles dumped Kingston on the ropes (Kingston may have hurt his wrist) and hit him with a forearm to eliminate him. Knight blocked a Styles Clash from Lee. Jey Uso and Knight did “Yeet/Yeah” punches, with Jey Uso dangling from the apron, until Jimmy made the save with a superkick. This was the second time Jimmy saved Jey in the match.

AJ went for a springboard on the Usos, but they super kicked and eliminated him. Jimmy and LA Knight battled against the ropes, and Jey Uso DUMPED BOTH KNIGHT AND HIS BROTHER JIMMY.  Jimmy was upset; he thought they were looking out for each other! Jey then tossed Dominik for the win. Jimmy was irate, but the fans were still behind Jey because it’s anything goes in a battle royal.

After the match, CM Punk stood in the ring with Jey Uso and that’s the main event for Saturday Night’s Main Event for the vacant World Title.

Feels like they should just put the belt on Bron Breakker and let him run roughshod over everyone.

Match Result: Jey Uso won a battle royal to face CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (18:28)

Update on Seth Rollins after WWE Raw angle

The wrestling world is back on Seth Rollins injury watch after the big angle that closed Monday’s Crown Jewel fallout edition of WWE Raw.

At the end of the episode, the rest of The Vision betrayed its leader, attacking Rollins and kicking him out of the group. The turn started with Bron Breakker laying out Rollins with a spear. Bronson Reed then decided to join in on the attack as well, with Paul Heyman looking shocked at what went down. The final shot of the episode was Breakker, Reed, and Heyman posing over a fallen Rollins.

Now, a photo posted to social media has fans questioning if Rollins is dealing with an injury that contributed to WWE’s decision to have this angle happen now. The photo — which was posted by a fan and was taken between Crown Jewel: Perth and Raw — shows Rollins with his arm in a sling.

Rollins defeated Cody Rhodes at Saturday’s PLE to become the men’s Crown Jewel Champion for 2025. There was a coast-to-coast spot during the match where Rollins looked like he could have been hurt. On the PLE post-show, Rollins called it a rough landing and said there could be long-term ramifications.

Of course, any injury to Rollins will have fans questioning whether it’s actually legitimate after the ruse he and WWE attempted to pull off at SummerSlam, where Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the World Heavyweight Championship after weeks of faking a knee injury.

CM Punk is the new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship after winning a triple threat match in the main event of Raw today. WWE hasn’t announced a date for when he’ll challenge Rollins, but the match has been expected to headline Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

Breakker also has his eyes on the World Heavyweight Championship, posing with the belt as Raw ended and then taking it with him after the show went off the air.

Huge betrayal takes place on WWE Raw

A huge angle closed Monday’s Crown Jewel fallout edition of WWE Raw.

The Raw roster has been shaken up with The Vision splitting away from its former leader Seth Rollins. The final shot of the episode was Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and a shocked Paul Heyman standing over a decimated Rollins as Breakker held Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship belt in the air.

It was Breakker who started the betrayal, taking out Rollins with a spear after The Vision laid out CM Punk following the main event. After a brief discussion with Breakker, Reed then opted to join in on the attack, giving Rollins a Tsunami from the top rope. It didn’t seem like Heyman knew any of this was going to happen, but he went along with it while posing with Breakker and Reed.

The Vision first formed when Heyman aligned with Rollins at WrestleMania 41 this April. Breakker was an immediate addition to the group with Reed being added later.

While the timing of the betrayal was shocking, there were seeds planted that this was coming — including Rollins saying in a promo on Raw that he did not need Breakker, Reed, or Heyman. Rollins said he was capable of doing everything on his own and his alliance with The Vision was by choice, not necessity.

Rollins is coming off a victory over Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth over the weekend where he was celebrated as the men’s Crown Jewel Champion for 2025.Though Breakker has his eyes on the World Heavyweight Championship, Punk has earned a one-on-one shot against Rollins for the belt. A date for the Rollins vs. Punk title match has not been announced yet. It looks to be planned for WWE’s next Saturday Night’s Main Event special on November 1.

WWE Raw live results: The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

Date: September 29, 2025
Location: Lenovo Center in Raleigh, NC

The Big Takeaway —

Not much happened on Raw until the very end, when Roman Reigns returned to help The Usos beat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. It was good timing by Reigns because the Usos were getting obliterated. Jimmy Uso has been worried about Jey turning into Reigns, and the closing shot saw Reigns imparting more words of encouragement on Jey, as Jimmy looked on disapprovingly.

Plus, Iyo Sky will team with Rhea Ripley to face Asuka and Kairi Sane at Crown Jewel.

**********

Show Recap —

The Usos, Judgment Day, Los Americanos (all three of them), and Rusev arrived at the arena in Raleigh.

Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett are tonight’s announcers.

Tessitore welcomed us to Raleigh, NC, and said the city was “That unique mix of cutting-edge business savvy and rah-rah spirit that mirrors modern-day WWE.”

There was a recap of Asuka and Kairi Sane attacking Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.

Rhea Ripley kicks off Raw

A pissed off Rhea Ripley entered to a big reaction. She said Asuka and Kairi Sane crossed the line with what they did to Iyo Sky, whom they claimed was family. Ripley wanted to settle things in the ring and called them out, but Sky entered instead.

Sky admitted Ripley was right about Asuka and Sane, and it broke her heart to say that. But they were her family, and she still loved them.

Asuka and Sane appeared on the screen. Asuka addressed Ripley and Sky. (It was a pre-taped promo, so there were subtitles.) Asuka said she taught Sky everything she knew and paved the way for her, but now Sky acted as if none of that mattered. Sky became champion because of her, but now Sky calls Ripley family and tries to forget about her (Asuka).

Asuka was willing to forgive Sky, but wanted an apology. “Be like Kairi. You can both be my students.” Sane (still a hesitant participant in this) told Sky they can still be a family. Asuka said it was too late for Ripley.

Ripley tried talking sense into Sky. Ripley said she knew what it was like for family to turn on you (Judgment Day), and there was no way Sky could go back to Asuka and Sane. Sky was upset. She needed time. She apologized to Ripley and left.

Asuka and Sane attacked Ripley from behind. Sky wasn’t sure what to do, but she ran into the ring and pulled Asuka away from Ripley. Sane pleaded with Sky until Asuka spat mist in Sky’s face.

Ripley attacked, but Asuka and Sane fought her off. Asuka held Ripley down in the Asuka Lock while Sane hit an Insane elbow. Officials entered to check on the babyfaces as the segment ended.

********

Dom entered with his Intercontinental and AAA Mega Championship belts. Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh initially entered with Dom, but they returned to the back for the match.

Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev

Rusev was all over Dom early on, sending him over the announce table with a fallaway slam, which sent us to break less than two minutes into the match. Not much happened until Dom made his comeback following a break, leading to a springboard senton for just a one count. Dom went for a 619, but Rusev clotheslined him.

Rusev set up for the Machka Kick, but Dom spilled out of the ring. Dom shoved Rusev into the steel steps and hit a 619 to the gut back in the ring. Dom hit a normal 619 and went for a frog splash, but Rusev moved and hit a Machka Kick for a nearfall.

Rusev applied the Accolade, but Dom quickly wriggled out of it and escaped the ring. Dom grabbed his two belts and started to leave, but Rusev pulled him back in the ring.

Dom tried to pull an Eddie Guerrero trick by feigning that Rusev hit him with a belt, but the referee caught him. As the ref put the belt away, Dom low-blowed Rusev and applied a schoolboy for the pinfall win.

Match result: Dominik Mysterio defeated Rusev to retain the Intercontinental Championship (8:56)

This was ok. It followed the same pattern as most WWE TV matches, so the crowd only got into it toward the end with Dom’s antics, and they popped big for his win.

Earlier today, LA Knight told Adam Pearce he wanted a world title shot because he was the last person to beat Seth Rollins.

New Day interrupted them because they wanted a tag title shot. Pearce told them to earn it. Knight tried to dismiss them, so Kofi Kingston told him that only one of them had actually been a world champion. Knight said he would be world champ very soon, and told Pearce to make a match between him and Kingston. Pearce agreed.

There was a shot of Cody Rhodes’ tour bus, followed by part one of a video package exploring the history of Rhodes and Seth Rollins since Rhodes’ return.

Happy Bayley approached Lyra Valkyria, who wasn’t buying what Bayley was saying. Bayley wanted Valkyria’s help tonight (in her match with Raquel Rodriguez). Valkyria didn’t want to give her any more chances and told her she was on her own.

They announced the launch of Zuffa Boxing with a picture of Turki Al-Sheikh and Dana White.

Bayley vs. Raquel Rodriguez (w/Roxanne Perez)

Bayley went for a hurricanrana off the apron (like Kelani Jordan tried in her recent TNA match with Lei Ying Lee), but Rodriguez successfully caught her and drove her into the barricade.

Bayley fought back after a break and hit a senton bomb for two. They were in North Carolina, so Bayley did the Hardy Boyz pose before the spot. Rodriguez and Bayley messed up a spot, so they moved on, and Rodriguez clotheslined her.

Bayley responded with a figure four (to pay tribute to Ric Flair in NC), but Rodriguez called the ref for help to distract her. This allowed Perez to rake Bayley’s eyes and break up the hold, and the ref didn’t see it because she has no peripheral vision. Rodriguez followed with a big boot and Tejana Bomb for the pinfall win.

— The heels attacked Bayley after the match, so Valkyria ran out to make the save. The heels got the better of her, but Bayley suddenly snapped. She popped out of the corner and cleared the ring by herself. Bayley cackled like heel Bayley and helped Valkyria to her feet.

Match result: Raquel Rodriguez defeated Bayley (10:24)

The Usos met backstage. Jimmy wanted to know why Jey walked away from him and LA Knight last week. Jey said helping Knight got them nowhere, and he was the reason they lost at Wrestlepalooza. Jey wanted to know why Jimmy helped Knight.

Jey basically reiterated what Roman Reigns told him (without mentioning him), that they shouldn’t be helping anyone.

Jey did what he had to do. He beat Knight. Mission accomplished. If he did more of that, maybe he’d be world champion. That was something Jimmy didn’t understand. Jey told him to forget about Knight so they could take care of the Brons. They shook hands.

The useless medical staff was still tending to Sky, who was still covered in blue mist and having trouble seeing almost an hour after the opening segment. Sane approached Sky and tried reasoning with her.

Sane wanted Sky to apologize to Asuka so they could be a family again. Sky told Sane to leave her alone. A very sad Kairi left, but not before leaving a photo of the three of them together. (The camera zoomed in on the picture in case you were having trouble understanding.)

********

LA Knight vs. Kofi Kingston (w/Xavier Woods)

Knight had control until a Woods distraction allowed Kingston to take over ahead of a break. Woods also took a cheap shot during a break. Knight made his post-commercial break comeback, hitting a slingshot shoulder tackle and neckbreaker.

Woods distracted Knight again, this time by jumping on the apron in front of the referee. Knight knocked him off, but Kingston applied a rollup with his feet on the ropes for two. Knight ducked a Trouble in Paradise and hit a BFT for the pinfall win.

Match result: LA Knight defeated Kofi Kingston (10:22)

Another ordinary, patterned match.

********

Becky Lynch approached Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa. She mocked Dupri for being a loser. Lynch called herself the greatest of all time and reminded us that everyone was saying it. Durpi said not everyone, certainly not AJ Lee.

Tozawa, playing a total caricature, giggled at the comment. Lynch punched Tozawa, and he dropped to the floor. Dupri stood up for Tozawa, so Lynch backed off. Durpi checked on Tozawa, but Lynch attacked her from behind and hammered away until officials broke it up. Lynch found Rollins nearby. Rollins left to head to the ring.

********

Byron Saxton interviewed Dom during a break. Dom bragged about his win before being confronted by Penta. Saxton asked Dom for comment, but Dom dismissed Penta as a challenger because he’s already beaten him so many times.

Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes segment

(Long story short, Rhodes isn’t buying that their Crown Jewel match will determine the future. Rollins wanted to make it clear that any perceived allegiance between them in the past meant nothing. The match was meaningful because Rollins would win and write a new story.)

Rollins entered. The crowd sang his song, chanted for CM Punk and “OTC.” The fans remembered he isn’t currently feuding with those guys, so they eventually started singing for Cody Rhodes.

Rollins finally spoke when they did. Rollins acknowledged that he had lost all three matches against Rhodes. It didn’t bother Rollins because it didn’t matter. Those were in the past. Those versions of Rhodes and Rollins were in the past. They were both men trying to reach the top, but now, headed into Crown Jewel, they were on top.

The winner of the match wouldn’t just be the Crown Jewel champion—the winner may just decide the next 10-20 years of the entire industry. Rollins didn’t understand why anyone would want Rhodes to win that match and lead this company into the future.

Rollins said he has done everything right. He stayed with this company when times were tough, brought the company into its golden age, and took two young men—Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed—and took them under his wing so they could reach the top. Rollins has tried to rid this place of cancers like Reigns and Punk, yet people still chanted for Rhodes (instead of him).

Rhodes entered to a big reception. Rhodes wanted to know what Rollins was even talking about, as if either of them had any control over the future of the industry. Rhodes looked at the fans and said they were the ones who controlled the future.

Rhodes mentioned that Breakker and Reed appeared on SmackDown, but it wasn’t Rollins who sent them, it was Paul Heyman. Rhodes wondered who was really in charge. Rollins claimed it was him who sent them because every decision ran through him.

Rhodes wondered if it was also Rollins’ idea for Heyman to introduce Brock Lesnar. Rollins reiterated that every decision ran through him.

Rhodes said Crown Jewel should be about best versus best. Rhodes wondered where they would be in twenty years. Would they be sitting in the back, reminiscing about the past? Rhodes recalled Rollins being his shield at WrestleMania 40. He thought Rollins was his friend.

Rollins told him to shut up. Rollins said he was never Rhodes’ friend. That act at WrestleMania was a means to an end. Rhodes was the lesser of two evils. They would never be friends reminiscing about the past. They would never shake hands. That would never happen.

Rollins planned on cleansing the timeline at Crown Jewel. Everything that happened between them before was dead. Rollins would write a new future at Crown Jewel.

********

Ripley approached Sky, still covered in blue mist. Sky told Ripley she was right about Asuka. She spoke to Pearce and got them a tag match against Asuka and Sane at Crown Jewel. Ripley earnestly asked Sky if she could trust her. Sky said she could. Sane was lost, and she could not go back to them.

********

Dragon Lee cut a pre-match promo. The crowd was quiet for it. He was honoured to team with Styles and said he was coming for Dom’s Mega Championship.

Styles spoke about his upcoming match against John Cena. Styles said it was thanks to the fans that this match was happening, and now he got to do something that he loved: “I get to beat up John Cena.”

AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Los Americanos

The two Americanos who aren’t Ludwig Kaiser have new fake names, Rio and Bravo.

They went to break 40 seconds into the match, and the Americanos had the heat on Dragon Lee as the fans watched quietly. The crowd woke up when Styles made the hot tag. He ran wild and wiped out Kaiser with a springboard forearm to the outside.

Lee hoisted an Americano into the air and into the arms of Styles. Lee wiped out the other Americano with a dive while AJ hit a Styles Clash for the pinfall win.

Match result: AJ Styles & Dragon Lee defeated Los Americanos (7:02)

Another match where you only need to see the last minute or so.

Jackie Redmond interviewed Stephanie Vaquer about her upcoming match against Tiffany Stratton. Vaquer respected Stratton, but Stratton would learn why nobody could stop her.

Stratton suddenly showed up. Stratton said she’s proven herself as champion against some of the best over the past 268 days. Vaquer has only been on top for a few weeks, and she would learn that it was still Tiffy Time. Vaquer said Tiffany’s time was over.

********

In the back, a very serious Rollins told Heyman that he needs to beat Rhodes. Heyman was upbeat and confident that he would, but Rollins cut him off and said, “I have to beat him. I have to.”

Tornado Tag Team Match: Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed (w/Paul Heyman)

The Usos attacked the Brons with dives during their entrance, so the referee chose that moment to start the match, which hardly seems fair. The Brons fought them off and eventually took control anyway. The highlight was Breakker putting Jimmy through the announce table with a leaping clothesline off the barricade.

This left Jey on his own for a while. Jey tried fighting back, but Reed cut him off with a world’s strongest slam. The Brons followed with a Steinerizer.

Reed went up for a Tsunami, but Jimmy woke up and shoved him off the top. Jimmy hit Breakker with a superkick and a pop-up Samoan drop. However, Reed gave Jimmy a Jagged Edge (DVD), and Breakker speared Jey.

Breakker stacked up the Usos, who were getting decimated in a fair fight, and Reed set up for a Tsunami, but Roman Reigns’ music hit.

Reigns entered with a chair in hand to a gigantic pop. Reigns dumped Breakker from the ring and hit Reed repeatedly with a chair, eventually sending him over the barricade. Breakker tried to attack from behind, but Reigns hit him with the chair and sent him into the ring.

Jimmy superkicked Breakker, and Jey followed with a spear. Jimmy and Jey hit Breakker with simultaneous Uso splashes for the pinfall win.

— Reigns attacked Breakker again with a chair after the match.

Reigns shook hands with Jey. They stood face-to-face as Reigns gave Jey words of encouragement (telling Jey that this was his show and to take everything). Jimmy had a skeptical look on his face and didn’t like what he was seeing.

Match result: The Usos defeated Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed in a tornado tag team match (12:38)

Special referee added to WWE Wrestlepalooza match

LA Knight will make his presence felt at tonight’s WWE Wrestlepalooza as he has been announced as the special guest referee for The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed.

Adam Pearce revealed the news during the pre-show.

Knight and Jey Uso have been at odds for several weeks with Uso spearing Knight two weeks ago on Raw. After a shoving match to start Raw this past Monday, Knight teamed with Jimmy Uso against Breakker and Reed in the main event. Breaker and Reed picked up the win and Knight got a measure of revenge by hitting Jey with a BFT after the two exchanged a post-match handshake.

WWE Wrestlepalooza | Saturday, September 20 | 7 p.m. Eastern time:

  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defends against Drew McIntyre
  • CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
  • IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Championship
  • Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed with LA Knight as special referee
  • John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

Two new matches added to WWE Wrestlepalooza

Two more Wrestlepalooza matches are now official.

The opening to Monday’s Raw saw the reunited Usos come out and confront Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. After the two teams exchanged words, the Usos demanded a match for Monday’s show. Bron & Bronson balked, instead saying they’d have the match on September 20.

LA Knight then came out and attacked both members of the Vision. However there was miscommunication between Knight and Jey Uso that led to Jey being taken out. That resulted in a show-long storyline where Jimmy tried to persuade Jey to have LA Knight’s back for his match against Bronson Reed in the main event. Jimmy and Jey did help LA Knight after his loss but this time it was Jey that took out LA Knight with a spear, clearly indicating there was still tension between the two.

Another match confirmed for Wrestlepalooza is CM Punk and AJ Lee teaming up to take on Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. After cutting her first promo on Raw in over 10 years, Lee was confronted by Lynch who wanted her Intercontinental title back. After Rollins came out to also demand the return of the title, Lee proposed the mixed tag team match. The two wanted nothing of it at first but eventually agreed after CM Punk came out and attempted to lay out Rollins with a GTS.

The updated card for Wrestlepalooza:

WWE Wrestlepalooza (September 20)

  • John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Women’s World Championship: IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer
  • CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
  • Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker vs. The Usos

Paul Heyman names three WWE stars as ‘guaranteed’ WrestleMania main eventers

During his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show this week, Paul Heyman named three WWE stars he believes are the future of the company.

Heyman named Bron Breakker, Jacob Fatu, and Rhea Ripley as people who can headline multiple WrestleManias in the future. Breakker is currently paired with Heyman on screen, but Heyman said all three are people he loves working with behind the scenes.

https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/status/1953225359417327645

“Bron Breakker and I are on camera together because I was working so closely with him behind the scenes. Because I truly believe that’s the future of our company, that’s a guaranteed WrestleMania main eventer multiple times in the future,” Heyman said.

“Jacob Fatu, a guaranteed WrestleMania main eventer multiple times in the future. I can say the same thing [about] Rhea Ripley, a guaranteed WrestleMania main eventer multiple times in the future if we find the right story and the right opponent for her in that capacity.”

Breakker is a member of The Vision on WWE Raw, a Heyman-managed faction that also includes Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed.

While Breakker, Fatu, and Ripley are three of the people he collaborates with backstage, Heyman said he gets to work with everyone and never turns anyone down. He loves seeing wrestlers realize that they can put promos in their own words and focus on the connection they have with the audience rather than reading an exact script.

Heyman explained the role he plays in WWE creative, saying he isn’t involved in the week-to-week grind but plays a role in helping form the longterm direction.

Gunther, Bron Breakker injury updates following WWE SummerSlam

Injury updates are available for Gunther and Bron Breakker following night one of WWE SummerSlam on Saturday.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez covered all the news coming out of the show on Wrestling Observer Radio, available now for subscribers. They noted that Breakker may have suffered an injury on the show that limited his ability to get involved in the post-main event cash-in angle with Seth Rollins and CM Punk.

“Bron Breakker got hurt. I don’t know the severity yet. Hopefully I’ll know tomorrow,” Meltzer said.

Alvarez added that Breakker’s leg was taped up when he came out for the post-main event angle:

“He was out there for the main event. He had his leg all taped up. I didn’t get any sort of update, but usually it takes a day or so for them to get looked at.”

Meltzer said:

“He was limping really bad going to the back and it was taped up a lot and my presumption was is that they were going to join in in killing Punk and they just let Rollins do it.”

“He could he could walk on it, but it’s not like he ran in or anything like that or got involved in that finish. I just haven’t heard but I’m sure it was a legitimate injury, unlike the Seth Rollins injury, which was not a legit injury, obviously.”

It was noted in Friday’s Daily Update that Gunther is dealing with a nose issue that may cause him to take time off. Meltzer went into further detail on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Gunther will be having nose surgery.

“I was told Gunther’s having surgery on his nose. I was told that a couple days ago and it’s very clear from watching the finish that Gunther’s having surgery on his nose pretty quick.”

Meltzer added, “That busted nose thing that was 100 percent worked blood and planned.”
