BVV: The Trick-NA era of Impact begins

Trick Williams is the new TNA champion, and the crew on Impact reacts to this fresh news on a stale show that was taped weeks ahead of time. We’ll see how awkward things can get as they pretend this all happened in chronological order.

We’ll also look at just how long Trick’s reign may last, and who might be next to challenge him if he’s still champ after Tuesday night. Meanwhile, TNA has another app special this Friday, so they need challengers not just for the World title, but for the X Division, Tag Team, and Knockout titles as well. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s jump right in with the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Moose vs. Zachary Wentz

Maybe the best wrestling TV show of the week was highlighted by an outstanding X Division championship match. Zachary Wentz finally gets the title shot he earned way back in September and he and Moose stole the show.

Elsewhere, Joe Hendry and the Hardys show that they are still the biggest stars in the company, Mike Santana makes his championship aspirations known, the war between Steve Maclin and Eric Young intensifies, there’s some stuff with Cody Deaner, and Maggie Lee and Leon Slater pick up some wins. We’ll explain it all on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA continues to ignore Unbreakable

Three weeks away from their next app special, TNA has announced no names, no matches, no special appearances…but they are booking things for Rebellion, their pay per view event that happens 10 days later. On pro wrestling’s biggest week, in America’s most entertaining city, they have given you no reason to attend Unbreakable when you could be going to Bloodsport, or Prestige Wrestling, or Cirque du Soleil, or Spearmint Rhino. Oh well.

At least there was lots of good wrestling on Impact this week, thanks to Nic Nemeth, Leon Slater, Eric Young, Ace Austin, and—yes—Chavo Guerrero Jr. We’ll get into the details on the Big Vinny V Show.

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with build for…NXT Roadblock?

Eight days out from TNA’s next app special, the best segment on Impact was spent hyping up a big show for another promotion.

The face-to-face confrontation between NXT champion Oba Femi and TNA X-Division champion Moose, the two combatants in the main event of NXT’s Roadblock, stole the show this week. So what about TNA Sacrifice? Well, the presumed main event—the ladder match between Moose and Jeff Hardy—was virtually ignored. The participants in the 10-man tag were finalized, and a stip was added. Masha Slamovich’s title defense against Cora Jade was pushed, assuming Jade will be medically cleared to compete by then. And the NXT trio of Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe continue to ruin the days of Ace Austin and the Rascalz.

Elsewhere, Savannah Evans battles Xia Brookside, the Elegance brand spends more time as the personal servants of Spitfire, Eric Young tries again to earn the trust of Steve Maclin, Mike Santana poisons Mustafa Ali, and the Colons wrestle the Hardys in a main event that, technically, happened. We’ll explain on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with lots of new names

The power is out in North Bend but we’re going to barrel on through!

That means it’s time to review TNA Impact, where a bunch of new names made their debuts and jumped right into the main event. Elijah (fka The Drifter, fka Elias, fka Ezekiel) teams up with Joe Hendry, first in concert then in the ring where they take on Eddie and Orlando Colon (fka Primo and Epico, fka Los Matadores, etc.)

Elsewhere, Dupont & Igwe from NXT face the Rascalz; Fir$t Cla$$ introduces their new interview segment by interviewing themselves and their friends, Rosemary faces Lei Ying Lee, Eric Young and the Northern Armory explain their actions, Mustafa Ali uncomfortably crashes Mike Santana’s meeting, JDC battles Leon Slater in a hell of a no-DQ match, Tessa Blanchard does not wrestle but Masha Slamovich does, and the latest developments in the wacky world of Ryan Nemeth. All that and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Fraxiom vs. Nemeth Bros.

Big Vinny V: Joe Hendry the focus of TNA Impact

Heading into Genesis, one of their biggest shows ever, TNA Wrestling used this week’s Impact to make Joe Hendry look like a main-event star, not just a viral influencer on social media.

That started with a lengthy video package highlighting Hendry’s charisma, courage, and legit background in combat sports; it ended with a dominant performance in a main event tag match, teaming with Rhino against World Champion Nic Nemeth and his kid brother Ryan. We’ll look at what worked about it, and what could have been done better.

Also: the System continue their feud against Maclin, Young, and Gresham, the three veterans who really need a nickname; Lei Ying Lee returns to face Savannah Evans; Mike Santana faces the Northern Armory in a gauntlet match; the Good Hands battle the Rascalz; Moose defends the X Division title; and Jordynne Grace and Tessa Blanchard brawl some more. Big Vinny V: TNA Impact review with lots of talking

Somebody at TNA Wrestling decided it would be a good idea to keep the wrestling to a minimum on a two-hour TV wrestling show. Your full card for this past Thursday’s TNA Impact was Ryan Nemeth vs. Rhino, Ace Austin vs. KUSHIDA, and an eight-woman Knockouts tag team match.

Yes, that was it.

In between, we have a Joe Hendry promo, a Jordynne Grace promo, a Rascalz promo, a Moose promo, a Kazarian promo, a Nic Nemeth promo, and several minutes of a random eight-year-old tag match.

We will try to make it exciting on a brand new Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Joe Hendry vs. Kazarian

The main event of TNA Impact this week sees Joe Hendry take on Frankie Kazarian, with the winner going on to challenge Nic Nemeth for the world championship at Bound For Glory. Sounds simple, but they couldn’t leave well enough alone.

Plus, Jordynne Grace gets a mystery partner from NXT, a challenger for Speedball’s X Division title possibly emerges, Jonathan Gresham and Laredo Kid tear things up, and Josh Alexander firmly picks a direction. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Victory Road, one of TNA’s best shows all year

TNA Wrestling put on one of its best shows of the year with Victory Road. The show was headlined by Nic Nemeth’s world championship defense against Moose. That was one of five championship matches on the night, the best of which was Zachary Wentz defending the X Division title against Speedball Bailey. The show-stealer, though may have been Josh Alexander vs. Joe Hendry, one of the best matches in the career of TNA’s hottest star.

Plus appearances from NXT wrestlers and WWE legends, and perhaps the final days of The System. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Mustafa Ali vs. Nic Nemeth

The main event of TNA Impact this week sees Nic Nemeth defending the world championship against Mustafa Ali. Nemeth is the new World Champion making his first title defense. Ali has been the X Division Champion for most of the year. Both spent several years as major names for the world’s largest wrestling promotion. So why was this match not more of a big deal? And what does it say about Ali’s future with the company?

Plus, The Rascalz have another fun match, the best possible use for Rosemary, and the Knockouts tag division treadmill keeps spinning. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Slammiversary fallout

Coming off their biggest, most successful show in years and years, TNA Wrestling takes all of that momentum…and does absolutely nothing with it.

The follow-up edition of Impact sees a whole lot of talking (much of it bad), a little bit of wrestling (not much of it good), and barely anything newsworthy, with Mustafa Ali challenging Nic Nemeth for next week’s show the highlight. With little in the present to discuss, it was a show that left us wondering what’s next for the knockouts division, what’s in store for the ABC and the tag titles, and how a theoretical reunion between Josh Alexander and Ethan Page might work. Big Vinny V Show: TNA Impact review with Joe Hendry vs. Eddie Edwards

On a new Big Vinny V Show, it’s all about TNA Impact with the main event last week pitting Joe Hendry vs. Eddie Edwards (one half of the TNA Tag Team champions) as Hendry continues his climb from comedic novelty act to bona fide main event guy.

Also: Ace Austin faced Chris Bey in a battle of tag team partners, The Rascalz ruined a fun match between Steve Maclin and Mike Santana, X-Division champion Mustafa Ali squared off against Leon Slater, and Jonathan Gresham’s gimmick still sucked.
