Andrade El Idolo vs. PAC added to AEW All Out

Andrade El Idolo will face PAC at the AEW All Out PPV on Sunday, September 5.

The announcement was made on tonight’s Dynamite.

PAC addressed Andrade in a backstage promo. He stated that Andrade is obsessed with Death Triangle and that he is willing to face Andrade anytime, anywhere.

Later in the show, Andrade and Chavo Guerrero addressed PAC’s statements. Andrade called PAC ungrateful, then Chavo parroted him. Chavo said that Andrade can show PAC who’s boss at All Out.

Over the last several weeks, Andrade has made overtures to PAC’s Death Triangle teammates, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix. On tonight’s show, Penta told PAC that he wanted a shot at Andrade first. PAC told Penta and Fenix to focus their efforts on the tag team division, then issued the challenge.

Andrade vs. PAC is the third match made official for All Out. Here is the announced lineup so far:

AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Christian Cage

Chavo Guerrero makes AEW debut as Andrade El Idolo’s consultant

Chavo Guerrero made his AEW debut as Andrade El Idolo’s executive consultant on tonight’s Fyter Fest episode of Dynamite.

During an in-ring interview with Tony Schiavone, Andrade stated that he had a surprise for the crowd tonight. Schiavone then introduced Guerrero.

Guerrero said that he heard AEW is the place to be and that he was blown away by all the talent he saw backstage. Guerrero then said with all due respect to the talented men and women in AEW, none are as talented as Andrade.

The Death Triangle trio of PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix came to the stage with Alex Abrahantes. Guerrero, Andrade, PAC and Abrahantes had a verbal exchange where Andrade said that Penta and Fenix should come work for him rather than working for PAC, a request that Death Triangle rejected. The segment ended with Death Triangle hitting the ring and a pull-apart by referees.

Guerrero, 50, is a veteran with international experience. He has wrestled for WCW, NJPW, TNA, Lucha Underground, AAA and a variety of independent promotions over a career spanning more than two decades. He had a lengthy run with WWE beginning in 2001 after his contract was purchased in the sale of WCW to WWE. He was granted his WWE release in June 2011.

Guerrero has wrestled sporadically in 2020 and 2021, with his only high-profile matches being on two Good Brothers’ Talk ‘N Shop A Mania PPV events in 2020 and a Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport PPV in April 2021.

The promotion sent out a press release confirming the show will no longer take place on Saturday, June 19, providing information on refunds. The promotion later released another statement claiming that the show will be rescheduled due to logistical issues.

Andrade was the first to pull from the event, then Rush and the rest of La Faccion de Ingobernable pulled out soon after. Rush cited logistical problems as the reason he was pulling from the event. Andrade said that he “did not reach a good agreement” with the company.

The main event for the show was to feature Andrade, Bestia del Ring, Rush and a mystery partner facing The Briscoes, Matt Taven & PJ Black. Elsewhere on the card, Dragon Lee was scheduled to team with Bandido against Fenix & Penta El Zero M. Kenny King was scheduled to compete in the Torneo Copa Federacion tournament.

Andrade El Idolo signs with AEW, debuts on Dynamite

Andrade arrived in AEW on tonight’s Double or Nothing fallout edition of Dynamite.

As Mark Henry and Tony Schiavone were talking in the ring on tonight’s show, Vickie Guerrero came in and booted them both out. She then introduced the debuting Andrade, who is going by the name Andrade El Idolo outside of WWE. He cut a short promo where he said that he used to say that he was the face of Latinos, but today he will say that he will be the new face of All Elite Wrestling.

AEW later confirmed that he had officially signed with the company.

After requesting to be released from WWE, Andrade had his request granted on March 21 of this year. He had spent months off WWE television prior to requesting his release.

Andrade appeared via video at AAA’s Rey de Reyes event back on May 1 and challenged Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship, one of the four titles that Omega currently holds. That match has been confirmed for AAA Triplemania XXIX on Saturday, August 14. Andrade is also set for Federacion Wrestling’s pay-per-view debut on Saturday, June 19.
