AEW Rampage Holiday Bash spoilers from Washington, DC

The following are spoilers for this Friday’s AEW Rampage Holiday Bash, taped Wednesday in Washington, DC at the Entertainment & Sports Arena.

**********

Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Brian Cage and Lance Archer) promo. They called out Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis which led to the following.

Konosuke Takeshita & Brian Cage defeated Powerhouse Hobbs & Mark Davis

Takeshita pinned Davis in a long match with good, hard-hitting action.

Lio Rush & Action Andretti defeated Miles Hawkins & Goldy

This was a quick squash featuring two local enhancement talent. Afterward, AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party came out followed by Top Flight. The champs turned around to face Top Flight and got attacked from behind by Andretti and Rush. The two teams then fought Andretti and Lio off before Top Flight picked up the titles and were hesitant to hand them back.

Willow Nightingale defeated Harley Cameron

Nightingale won with the sit-out powerbomb. Cameron and Penelope Ford attacked Nightingale after the bell. Kris Statlander ran in for the save. They teased a reconciliation between Nightingale and Statlander. The crowd chanted “hug it out,” but Statlander left the ring instead.

Continental Classic Gold league: Brody King defeated Komander

King dominated Komander until he wiped out into the barricade going for his cannonball senton on the floor. There was a close near fall off a 450 splash by Komander, but King caught him coming off the ropes into a power bomb for the pin. King now has six points, making it a five-way tie while Komander has yet to score a single point.

AEW Collision Winter is Coming spoilers from St. Louis

The following are spoilers for this Saturday’s Winter is Coming edition of AEW Collision, taped Thursday in St. Louis, Missouri at the Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University.

International Women’s Cup qualifier finale: Willow Nightingale defeated Jamie Hayter

Nightingale pinned Hayter with a doctor bomb to advance to the International Women’s Cup at Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome. They shook hands afterward. Not perfect, but a good match. Willow left Jamie standing in the ring, and the lights went out. Julia Hart then appeared, DDT’ed Hayter, and left her laying.

Continental Classic Blue League: Kazuchika Okada defeated The Beast Mortos

Okada beat Mortos with two Rainmakers in a very good match. Okada and Mortos have good chemistry. The crowd thought Mortos could win. A lot of personality in this match and a few funny comedy spots.

Toni Storm defeated Shazza McKenzie

Storm pinned McKenzie with Storm Zero. They shook hands at first. After the match, Storm grabbed the mic and said, “I never thought I’d get to say this, but Toni Storm is officially All Elite!,” obviously hinting at her mental struggle.

Action Andretti & Lio Rush defeated Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) (w/ Leila Grey) to earn an AEW Tag Team title shot

Andretti hit a 450 splash on Darius for the pin. This was a fast-paced, high-flying, action-packed match that went longer than I expected. The finish came when Rush dove outside into Dante who knocked down Grey standing behind him. Lio and Andretti took advantage of the situation, got the pin and a future title match. Top Flight lost looked great in defeat and weren’t buried.

Kris Statlander defeated Tootie Lynn

Lynn is a local favorite who the crowd knew and loved.

Orange Cassidy, The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum), Komander & Daniel Garcia defeated MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden) & Premier Athletes (Ari Daivari, Josh Woods & Tony Nese) (w/ Mark Sterling)

Cassidy pinned Woods with the Orange Punch. The crowd was loud for this match. “THIS IS AWESOME!” chants. A lot of comedy, a lot of action and an amazing ring-long rope walk into a springboard drive outside onto the heels by Komander.

Continental Classic Blue League: Mark Briscoe defeated Kyle Fletcher

Briscoe beat Fletcher with the Jay Driller with less than a minute left. It looked like it would be a time limit draw. Standing ovation from the crowd. Lots of near falls. An excellent match between two great wrestlers. This is a must watch.

Overall, this was a very entertaining episode of Collision.

Ring of Honor TV spoilers for December 12 —

Chris Jericho & Matt Cardona Final Battle contract signing —

Jericho flipped off the crowd for chanting “Always Ready!” Jericho congratulated Matt for having the biggest match of his career. Jericho would not let Cardona speak. Finally, Cardona exploded and said, “Everything that comes out of your mouth is BULLSHIT!”

Cardona called Jericho a phony who’s using ROH, and Cardona is going to prove it when he wins the title next Friday. Cardona signed, then Jericho paused before he signed. He finally signed.

Jericho offered a handshake. Cardona sent Jericho into Bryan Keith on the apron. Cardona hit the Rough Rider and then slammed Jericho through the table, leaving Chris laying in the ring.

AEW Rampage spoilers for December 13 —

  • Toni Storm defeated Harley Cameron —

Toni Storm (original version, not Timeless) beat Harley Cameron with the Storm Zero. Harley Cameron threw to break. Yelling in the camera, “We’ll be right back if this idiot can remember who she is!” A more competitive match than you might expect.  There was a moment where Toni was going to do something ‘timeless’ but didn’t. Maybe a sign of a mental struggle with her character. This was the first match but they taped it last.

  • Deonna Purazzo defeated Shazza Makenzie —

Purrazzo won by tap out with the Fujiwara arm bar

  • Matt Cardona defeated Bryan Keith (w/Chris Jericho  on commentary)

After the match, Cardona in the ring and Jericho standing at the commentary desk stared each other down. Jericho took off his hat and jacket and slowly went to the ring only to wave his hands, call it off, and walk to the back with Keith. Cardona said to the crowd he’s going to beat Jericho “for each and every one of you”.

  • Tony Schiavone in the ring w/Don Callis, Lance Archer, Konosuke Takeshita, & Kyle Fletcher

Callis put over the ‘Murder Machine’ tag team, plus Takeshita and Fletcher beating Ospreay and Okada. Fletcher says he’ll beat Mark Briscoe on Collision because winning the Continental Classic is his destiny. Out came Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis to start the main event vs Takeshita and Archer.

  • Powerhouse Hobbs & Mark Davis defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Lance Archer (w/ Don Callis on commentary & Kyle Fletcher standing behind him)

Hobbs pinned Archer with a spinebuster. Takeshita tried to attack Hobbs and got a spine buster for his trouble. Hobbs held up the International Title while standing over Takeshita. Hard hitting match.

AEW Rampage spoilers for the Friday, December 6 episode —

  • Continental Classic Blue League: Kazuchika Okada defeated Mark Briscoe. Okada escaped the Jay Driller and turned it into the Rainmaker for the pin. No surprise, it was very good.
  • Chris Jericho, who was on commentary for Okada-Briscoe, got in the ring and cut a promo on Matt Cardona. He said, “If you were here right now, you have no idea what I’d do to you.” Of course Matt Cardona comes out. The crowd chants “Always ready!” Cardona said it may be the biggest opportunity of his career, he’s the king of the indies, death matches and the Jericho Cruise. And he’ll be The King of New York. Jericho agreed Cardona is a bigger star, but he’s still just Zack. Cardona attacked Jericho. Bryan Keith ran in and gave Jericho the advantage. Jericho held Cardona as Keith clocked Matt with the belt buckle Martha Hart gave to Jericho. Jericho and Keith left as Cardona glared in pain.
  • Continental Classic Blue League: Daniel Garcia defeated The Beast Mortos. Garcia pinned Beast Mortos with a leg dive roll-up. Another very good, hard hitting, physical match.
  • The Vendetta (Deonna Purazzo and Taya Valkyrie) defeated Ella Elizabeth and Freya States. Purazzo made Ella tap to the Fujiwara armbar.
  • Continental Classic Gold League: Ricochet defeated Komander. Ricochet pinned Komander with the Spirit Gun in the main event. Everything you’d expect from these two. A high-flying match. “THIS IS AWESOME” chants. There were times when the crowd believed that Komander could win.

  • Continental Classic Blue league: Kazuchika Okada & Daniel Garcia went to a time limit draw as Garcia had Okada in the sharp shooter for over a minute. Okada went for the Rainmaker and Garcia ducked and turned it into the sharpshooter. This was probably the best match of the night. The story was that Garcia took everything Okada dished out and still hung in with him. Okada dominated the match, methodically working Garcia over. Garcia came back, including a running dropkick to Okada who was sitting in a chair outside of the ring. Okada even did the Garcia dance and then flipped him off in a very funny spot. Okada offered a handshake.

As Garcia reached in to accept, Okada stuck his middle finger in Garcia’s face and walked off. Matt Menard came in the ring after that and raised Garcia’s hand in victory.

Both women brought weapons to the ring and used chairs, a ladder, a trash can, a table and barbed wire. Anna even superplexed May onto a metal guard rail.  After the match, Shirakawa came out and celebrated with May. Mina and Mariah will have a Champagne Celebration at Full Gear.
  • AEW World Champion Jon Moxley cut a recorded promo on Orange Cassidy, bragging about breaking Chuck Taylor’s neck. He called OC a cold blooded snake. The test, Mox says, will be Wednesday when Cassidy faces Wheeler Yuta on Dynamite. Mox feels the weight of every wrestler and every fan who’s disappointed in what AEW has become. At Full Gear, Mox says he’s going to plant his flag so deep, it will never get moved. They grab pro wrestling by the balls.
