Three new title matches added to AEW Dynasty

With just hours left for AEW Dynasty, the promotion has announced three more title matches for the PPV event.

Set to take place on April 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, AEW has now added three more title matches to the card, two on the Zero Hour and one on the main card.

On the April 11 edition of Collision, it was announced that Jack Perry would defend his National championship against Mark Davis on Dynasty Zero Hour.

Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne) will also defend their AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles against Hyan & Maya World. This will be their second title defense.

The Dynasty Zero Hour will also feature Marina Shafir vs. Alex Windsor. AEW Dynasty is scheduled to begin at 7 PM ET with the Zero Hour before heading into the main show.

In addition to this, The Dogs (David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, and Clark Connors) won the AEW World Trios titles from JetSpeed & Mistico on the April 11 edition of Collision. Their title win was immediately followed by The Conglomeration (Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy) challenging them for the title. One partner short, a mystery partner for the Conglomeration was teased to appear at Dynasty. A hint for Kyle O’Reilly to come back?

WOL: Corporate wrestling & the backward psychology of SmackDown

It’s the Saturday Wrestling Observer Live with Jim Valley.

As backward as WWE SmackDown was last week, this week’s psychology was just as puzzling if not worse. The heel gets discount tickets for fans, tells fans not to buy WrestleMania Sunday and rips the main event wrestlers without saying anything positive about them.

This build is breaking virtually every rule when it comes to promos.

Will Ospreay reacts to TNA talent restrictions: ‘That’s cowardly s–t’

Will Ospreay has commented on TNA Wrestling blocking its talent from working with wrestlers contracted to other companies.

During an interview with Josh Martinez, Ospreay recalled a time when he was IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and was set to wrestle Pete Dunne, who was WWE UK Champion at the time. Ospreay said that NJPW wanted to know what would happen in the match, and there were certain things that needed to be discussed beforehand, but the match ultimately took place.

Ospreay said:

“I remember New Japan were a little bit like, ‘Hey, you can do the match but we’re a little bit like wanting to know what’s going to be happening in the match, if you know what I mean. And we had to get a lot of things ironed out and sorted. Pete’s always a cool guy.”

Ospreay then commented on NJPW allowing his match with Dunne to go through and compared it to TNA approving wrestlers for matches and then going back on what had been agreed upon.

Ospreay continued:

“But the fact that WWE and New Japan let that match happen and TNA out of all people, like who the f–k do you think you guys are? I’m sorry but it’s like all the s–t talk that they were giving about being a number two and it’s like you want to give permission for these guys to do that match and then pull them? I think that’s cowardly s–t, I’ll be honest with you.

I think that says everything about what you view your talent as. You view them less than AEW talent and that they don’t want to grow and that they don’t want to develop and that they don’t want to give back to fans. So that’s my kind of standpoint on it. And that’s me being a hard TNA fan. Those beginning years that I watched, that 04 to 05 era will always be my favorite era in wrestling especially.”

Both TNA Wrestling and AEW have pay-per-view events this weekend. TNA Rebellion takes place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, and AEW presents Dynasty from Vancouver, BC, Canada on Sunday.

Ospreay’s full interview with Josh Martinez is available below. The video is cued to his comments about TNA Wrestling:

Kyle O’Reilly teases AEW Dynasty return

Amid his ongoing absence due to injury, Kyle O’Reilly recently teased his return to AEW at the Dynasty PPV in Vancouver.

Recently speaking on VANCOLOUR, AEW wrestler Kyle O’Reilly opened up about growing up loving wrestling and the sacrifices that he made for his career. Out of action for months now, O’Reilly opened up and teased a potential return at Dynasty on April 12, 2026.

I really wanna be ready in time for the Vancouver pay-per-view, which is Dynasty, coming up this weekend from Rogers Arena. So wink, wink, nudge, nudge[proceeds to wink multiple times]. Maybe I’ll be back in time for that,” O’Reilly shared.

Dynasty is taking place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. O’Reilly, who hails from Delta, British Columbia, Canada, expressed his eager interest in being at the upcoming AEW PPV.

O’Reilly was last seen competing on AEW at Full Gear 2025 in a No Holds Barred match against Jon Moxley. A few weeks later, he was backstage for a December 2025 edition of Dynamite, where he confirmed his bulging neck disc injury and was sidelined from in-ring action.

Young Bucks vs. Takeshita & Okada set for AEW Dynasty with key Double or Nothing development

A star-laden tag team match is official for this Sunday’s AEW Dynasty with big implications for next month’s Double or Nothing.

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks will take on the Don Callis-led team of Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada, made by Callis himself on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Takeshita, who has been griping with Okada for months, wasn’t thrilled with the revelation but Callis threw in a big gift: Takeshita will get the one-on-one match against Okada he’s been craving at May’s Double or Nothing and it will be for Okada’s International title.

Callis noted that he was originally going to have Kyle Fletcher team with Okada instead, but due to Fletcher’s injury, that plan had to be changed.

Matt and Nick Jackson will take on Hechicero and El Clon of the Callis clan on this Saturday’s Collision.

Chris Jericho to wrestle for first time in 371 days at AEW Dynasty, brings back ‘The List’

After more than a year, inaugural AEW World Champion Chris Jericho will make his in-return at this Sunday’s AEW Dynasty and he’s bringing an old gimmick along with him.

He will do so in a first time ever match when he faces former AEW National Champion Ricochet in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Jericho, a full babyface, appeared on Wednesday’s Dynamite to officially sign his new contract when Ricochet and the Gates of Agony interrupted. After Ricochet verbally ran down Jericho and put over how much he feels he has impacted Dynamite, Jericho said part of his contract gives him the opportunity to call out someone without a match for the pay-per-view.

He then said he could pick Bishop Kaun or Toa Liona, but said he was going to do something he hasn’t had to do in ten years but it was “valid” for Ricochet.

“You know what happens when you’re bald, wearing a fancy pants sweatsuit and when Jericho needs an opponent when he doesn’t have one?”

He then revealed his personalized clipboard and said Ricochet just made “The List,” signing the contract, saying he’ll see him on Sunday. “The List” was a running gimmick of Jericho’s during part of his WWE run.

Jericho’s last match came in a mask vs. title match at last year’s Dynasty when he lost the Ring of Honor World title. He left the Learning Tree on the following Wednesday’s Dynamite and didn’t return until last Wednesday, ending speculation he was heading back to WWE.

TNT title vacated as plan to crown new champion unveiled for AEW Dynasty

The reported meniscus injury to Kyle Fletcher has resulted in him officially being stripped of the TNT Championship.

However, it won’t be long before the new champion is crowned as it will take place this Sunday at AEW Dynasty in a Casino gauntlet match.

The news was announced shortly before Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite with a match between Tommaso Ciampa and Mascara Dorada taking place on the show to determine the first entrant. Ciampa, a former TNT Champion, won the match and will enter first.

The second entrant will be determined on Saturday’s Collision in a match between Rush and Anthony Bowens.

Fletcher injured himself on the March 28 episode of Collision as he and Mark Davis picked up a win over The Rascalz. Fightful reported this past week that Fletcher sustained a meniscus injury in addition to other undisclosed “additional injuries” that are expected to keep him out of action for some time.

Fletcher’s second run with the title began less than two months ago with his win over Ciampa. He had three successful title defenses with the last coming on March 18.

Women’s title defense, first Zero Hour bout announced for AEW Dynasty card

The AEW Women’s World title will be on the line at next Sunday’s AEW Dynasty as Thekla will defend against former champion Jamie Hayter.

Hayter laid out the challenge on Thursday’s Collision in a backstage segment with Mina Shirakawa and Alex Windsor at her side. The three defeated Thekla and the Sisters of Sin on Wednesday’s Dynamite in the last chapter of their feud.

Thekla’s AEW debut came at Hayter’s expense but the match took a while to be made as Hayter missed time with an injury. The two had their first singles match at last October’s WrestleDream where Hayter came out on top.

Hayter’s only title run ended at May 2023’s Double or Nothing in a quick loss to Toni Storm after which she was out for a lengthy period due to injuries. Thekla will be looking for her fourth successful title defense.

In another new addition, Hayter’s Brawling Birds teammate Alex Windsor will take on Marina Shafir on the Zero Hour pre-show.

Continental title now up for grabs in Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay AEW Dynasty match

The stakes have been raised for the Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay grudge match at this month’s AEW Dynasty as Moxley’s Continental title will now be on the line.

The development came about during Thursday’s Collision after Moxley successfully defeated Anthony Bowens in an eliminator match. Ospreay ran out after the match and laid out Moxley with the Hidden Blade before he was pulled out by the Death Riders.

Ospreay grabbed the title belt left behind and told Moxley he wanted their Dynasty match to have everyone banned from ringside which is a Continental title match rule. Its addition to the bout was later confirmed on the show.

Ospreay, who returned last month from serious neck surgery, was taken out in storyline by Moxley and the Death Riders at last August’s Forbidden Door. Ospreay made his surprise return at March’s Revolution to confront Moxley and defeated PAC on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

The two have only squared off once in a straight up singles match, that coming at April 2022’s NJPW Windy City Riot where Moxley picked up the victory. They shared the ring in two NJPW multi-man matches afterward but their AEW encounters have always been in tag team bouts.

New match with World title shot on the line set for AEW Dynasty

In a bout first teased several weeks ago, former TNT Champion Darby Allin will take on future World title challenger hopeful Andrade El Idolo at this month’s AEW Dynasty.

The bout was confirmed on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite when Allin came out and called out reigning World Champion MJF. That brought out Don Callis and several members of his Family where Callis said that “MJF has paid his Family a lot of money to deliver a message.”

That message: if Allin can beat a hand-picked Family member, he will earn a future title shot. Callis then picked Andrade to be the man, much to Andrade’s surprise. Several weeks ago, Callis gave Andrade a case full of cash on behalf of MJF to take out Allin.

It was not said that Andrade would earn his own shot with a win.

This will be the third time in AEW history the two have met one-on-one. The first time came in March 2022 on Dynamite with the second coming a month later in a coffin match, also on Dynamite. The two are 1-1. They also shared the ring as part of a TNT title three-way and a tornado trios bout, both in 2022.

It was the only new bout announced Wednesday.

Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay set for AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay will get his chance at revenge against Jon Moxley at next month’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view.

Ospreay challenged Moxley to a match during Wednesday’s Dynamite which was accepted by Moxley later on the show, making it official. As of now, Moxley’s Continental title will not be on the line.

In his challenge, Ospreay brought up Moxley taking him out after last August’s Forbidden Door that saw an all-star team take on the Death Riders in the unsanctioned cage match that closed the show. Ospreay was about to leave the ring and was eventually attacked and stretchered out by Moxley and his crew, taking Ospreay out of action in storyline as he was set to undergo neck surgery.

The two have only squared off once in a straight up singles match, that coming at April 2022’s NJPW Windy City Riot where Moxley picked up the victory. They shared the ring in two NJPW multi-man matches afterward but their AEW encounters have always been in tag team bouts.

Ospreay returned to action on last week’s Dynamite, defeating Blake Christian in his first action since that August night in London.

AEW World Champion MJF gets his title challenger for Dynasty, rematch made official

The next challenger for the AEW World title is Kenny Omega after he defeated Swerve Strickland in the opener of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Omega defeated Strickland clean after hitting a One Winged Angel, gaining revenge for Strickland defeating him in February and taking him out of action with his post-match attack.

With the win, Omega took Strickland’s number one contender status and retains his executive vice president role which was also up in the match.

During a segment later on Dynamite, Omega confronted MJF in the ring during a promo segment in which he offered up a challenge for April’s Dynasty pay-per-view from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. MJF agreed and then declined to shake Omega’s hand, leaving the ring.

**************

The two have squared off once before, coincidentally during MJF’s first title reign. Made with less than a week’s notice, the October 2023 Collision match saw Omega attempting to prevent MJF from becoming the longest reigning AEW World Champion ever which would have surpassed Omega’s reign.

MJF defeated Omega in just over thirty minutes and in the aforementioned segment, Omega said he was only at 60-80% and the current day version of Omega won’t fall for any bullsh*t antics MJF tries to throw at him.

Omega will be looking to regain the title he lost to Hangman Page in November 2021 while MJF is looking to extend his three month run.

FTR vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage rematch signed for AEW Dynasty

The rematch between AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and Adam Copeland & Christian Cage is official for next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view.

Following the Young Bucks and Jack Perry’s win over Kazuchika Okada & RPG Vice in the main event of AEW Dynamite, Matt & Nick Jackson talked about their frustration in not defeating FTR at this past Sunday’s Revolution for the titles but said no one would stand in their way of becoming four-time champions.

Enter Copeland & Cage who then walked out to the ring. Copeland gave the Bucks a pep talk and said he needed to get back to AEW to rectify the situation with FTR taking out his wife, Beth Copeland at last September’s All Out. He then said he wants to take the titles from them and wanted the Bucks to hear it first, revealing the rematch is set for Dynasty.

After saying he just cares about making more money, Cage said winning the titles would prove they are the best tag team of their generation and the Bucks’ generation as well.

FTR and Stokely Hathaway then came out, but both the Bucks and Copeland & Cage took them out quickly. All four men then held the belts at the same time in a staredown before the Bucks departed.

Copeland & Cage defeated FTR at All Out, but Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler then delivered a spike piledriver to Beth Copeland, writing off Copeland who went to film The Beekeeper 2 movie. The Canadians then returned at Revolution after FTR’s win over the Bucks.

It’s the first match announced for the PPV, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Sunday, April 12.
