The most recent episode of Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions prior to this premiered last month and featured Mick Foley as the guest.

The Undertaker, Goldberg, Kane, Big Show, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Mark Henry, Jerry Lawler, Kurt Angle, Drew McIntyre, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, The Godfather, and Foley have been interviewed by Austin on past Broken Skull Sessions episodes. The Undertaker is the only guest who has been on the show twice.

Nash was also featured on Peacock/WWE Network programming when “WWE Untold: Two Dudes with Attitudes” debuted this May. It focused on Nash and Shawn Michaels’ team from the 1990s.

WWE Untold: Two Dudes with Attitudes to premiere in May

A new WWE Untold episode will be arriving on Peacock and the WWE Network this May.

WWE has announced that “WWE Untold: Two Dudes with Attitudes” will premiere on Sunday, May 2. The documentary, which will be made available on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network everywhere else, is focused on Shawn Michaels & Diesel’s partnership from the 1990s.

“This new documentary takes WWE fans back to the Dudes’ formation in 1993, when Michaels saw something in a young Kevin Nash that not many others could see. With one phone call, both of their lives would change forever, as Nash risked everything to leave WCW and enter WWE as The Heartbreak Kid’s imposing bodyguard, Diesel. What followed was a meteoric rise to the top, a bit of hellraising and a lifelong friendship,” WWE wrote.

“Michaels and Nash sit down to reveal how their time together included not only lessons for the squared circle, but for life outside the ring as well. The episode will also feature interviews with WWE Executive Director Bruce Prichard and author David Shoemaker, who share their insights on Diesel and HBK’s dominant run in the ’90s.”

Michaels & Diesel held the WWF Tag Team titles together twice. They also faced off against each other for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania XI in 1995.

One week before the Michaels & Diesel Untold episode premieres, a new edition of WWE 24 will make its debut. WWE 24: The Miz will premiere on Peacock and the WWE Network this Sunday (April 25).

We discuss 90s NBA and MLB, and what can be done to revive a few fledgling sports, particularly baseball. We then delve into pro wrestling as he talks about his love of Kevin Nash, what entertains him, his self admitted Twitter trolling, and who he enjoys watching today. Finally we talk about his forthcoming book on Ken Shamrock, his SHOOTERS book, noted pro wrestling shooters throughout the course of history, UWFI and Pancrase, and so much more!

July 15, 2002 Observer Newsletter: Vince Russo joins TNA, Kevin Nash injury, more

In a strange twist of events, NWA TNA announced on 7/9 that Vince Russo had joined the promotion in an unspecified role.

Russo had been announced by WWE on 6/20 as having joined the company in a creative capacity, but after his first meeting the next day, his job structure had changed from writer to consultant. He was reportedly being paid $1,000 per week for a position many in the company have, where they are supposed to critique the two main weekly television shows and send the reports to Vince McMahon. Rumors abounded that the current writing staff had to turn things around or Russo would be brought in, but it is no secret that Russo returning was, with a few exceptions, a very unpopular move within the company. Russo had sold his CD store in Atlanta and was planning on moving back to the Northeast as he never liked living in the South.

February 4, 2002 Observer Newsletter: Hogan, Nash, and Hall sign with WWF

The official signing of Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan), Kevin Nash and Scott Hall by the WWF, with their return announced on television this week, will be the precursor to full scale changes in the way the company will be handling business after Wrestlemania.

All three signed two-year contracts. Hall & Nash signed on 1/18 and, according to friends of Hogan’s, he signed on 1/25, although others claim he actually had signed before that day. All three were flown to WWF headquarters in Stamford, CT on 1/25 to meet with all the key people in the front office and meet about storylines, marketing and merchandising ideas from 8 p.m. until about 4 p.m. All aspects of business were discussed including the idea that they have to prove themselves in the dressing room because of the legit skepticism (which is being used as an insider television angle and there are aspects of this that are being booked dangerously too inside) within the company whether bringing them in is the right decision.

January 21, 2002 Observer Newsletter: More details on Hogan/Nash/Hall to WWF, more

A point to ponder when looking at the news story that changes the entire face of American pro wrestling.

1) Since Kurt Angle has headlined more shows that have drawn 10,000 fans in the last 15 months than Kevin Nash & Scott Hall have combined in careers that have gone a combined 29 years

2) Has headlined more PPV shows than have drawn 1.0 buy rates in the last 15 months than Hall & Nash combined have drawn in their entire careers

3) Has headlined more Madison Square Garden sellouts in that same time period than Hall & Nash in their entire much longer WWF careers

4) And has had more **** matches in the last three months than Hall & Nash combined in their entire careers, does that mean that Hall & Nash have to fly coach now that they are coming to the WWF?

January 7, 2002 Observer Newsletter: Inoki New Years Eve show, Nash to WWF, more

The closing moments of the worst year in the modern history of pro wrestling ended with the creation of a most unlikely star.

Antonio Inoki’s New Years Eve special was built around the creation of a comeback storyline for Tadao Yasuda, a 38-year-old former sumo. Not a wrestling comeback, but a sentimental life comeback. The television show built up his life-long problem with gambling, and that he started pro wrestling at the age of 31 to pay back debts, and then, when he continued to gamble, piling up debuts of about $760,000, his wife left him, taking his daughter with her. On 3/25, Yasuda became something of a pushed pro wrestling star with an unlikely win in a dreadfully boring Pride match over Masaaki Satake, that proved once again, you can never fully predict what will happen in a shoot.

Kevin Nash no longer appearing at WWE Raw 25

Though he was one of the first names announced for the show, Kevin Nash won’t be in New York City for Raw’s 25th anniversary episode.

“Was so looking forward to being a part of RAW 25,” Nash wrote on Twitter tonight. “It’s nearly impossible to travel on our down sized airlines healthy. With a total knee replacement it would be self inflicted torture. See ya everyone at Mania.”

Nash underwent major knee surgery in early December.

As further confirmation, Nash has also been removed from WWE’s list of wrestlers who will be appearing on this coming Monday’s anniversary show. Scott Hall, who Nash had been advertised with, is still listed.

Roman Reigns defending his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz is the only match that’s been announced for Monday. Raw 25 will be the go-home show for the Royal Rumble and will take place at the Manhattan Center and Barclays Center, with Brock Lesnar and John Cena both scheduled for the episode.
