Kevin Nash no longer appearing at WWE Raw 25

Though he was one of the first names announced for the show, Kevin Nash won’t be in New York City for Raw’s 25th anniversary episode.

“Was so looking forward to being a part of RAW 25,” Nash wrote on Twitter tonight. “It’s nearly impossible to travel on our down sized airlines healthy. With a total knee replacement it would be self inflicted torture. See ya everyone at Mania.”

Nash underwent major knee surgery in early December.

As further confirmation, Nash has also been removed from WWE’s list of wrestlers who will be appearing on this coming Monday’s anniversary show. Scott Hall, who Nash had been advertised with, is still listed.

Roman Reigns defending his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz is the only match that’s been announced for Monday. Raw 25 will be the go-home show for the Royal Rumble and will take place at the Manhattan Center and Barclays Center, with Brock Lesnar and John Cena both scheduled for the episode.

Trish Stratus announced for WWE Raw 25

With the show just days away, Trish Stratus has been added to the lineup for Raw’s 25th anniversary episode.

Stratus joins Nikki & Brie Bella, Jacqueline Moore, Torrie Wilson, Terri Runnels, Maria Kanellis, Michelle McCool, and Kelly Kelly as women’s wrestlers who will be making special appearances on Monday night. Stratus was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 and then did the induction speech for Lita the following year.

Monday’s Raw is the go-home show for the Royal Rumble. The show should answer whether any legends will be advertised for the women’s Rumble in advance. WWE announces Reigns-Miz title match for Raw 25th anniversary

The first match has been announced for the 25th anniversary episode of Raw.

The Miz will be getting his rematch for the Intercontinental Championship against Roman Reigns on the show. Miz returned to Raw tonight for the first time since losing the title to Reigns and taking time off to film a movie in November. He cut a promo where he set his sights back on the championship, then attacked Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Jason Jordan at the end of the show with the help of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas.

Reigns, Rollins & Jordan had lost to Finn Balor, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson before the attack. It ended with Miz, Axel, and Dallas giving Reigns a triple powerbomb.

WWE revealed earlier in the night that Steve Austin, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels), Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler, The Dudley Boys, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, Nikki & Brie Bella, The New Age Outlaws, and JBL & Ron Simmons would all be appearing on the anniversary episode. It will take place at the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center on January 22nd and will be the go-home show for the Royal Rumble.

Steve Austin, Ric Flair, more set for WWE Raw 25th anniversary

Several big names have been added to the 25th anniversary episode of Raw.

A video that aired during Raw tonight advertised that Steve Austin, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels), Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler, The Dudley Boys, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, Nikki & Brie Bella, The New Age Outlaws, and JBL & Ron Simmons would be on the episode. It will be the first time Austin has appeared on WWE television since making a cameo at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

Undertaker, Michaels, and Nash had already been announced as appearing. Brock Lesnar and John Cena are also scheduled.

There will be two locations for the anniversary show, with matches planned for both the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center (the original home of Raw). The episode will take place on January 22nd and will be the go-home show for the Royal Rumble.

WWE reveals 25th anniversary of Raw details: Two venues, Undertaker, more

WWE is going all-in for the 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw.

The company confirmed today that the anniversary edition of Raw would be taking place at both the Barclays Center and the Manhattan Center in New York City on January 22nd, 2018. Matches from both venues will air on the broadcast and will feature wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown, along with legends making “special appearances” at the Manhattan Center.

The Undertaker (who hasn’t been on WWE television since losing to Roman Reigns and indicating that he’s retiring at WrestleMania), Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash were the first three legends announced as being on the show. WWE has yet to reveal any other details about their scheduled appearances.

A one-night return to the Manhattan Center is WWE bringing Raw back to where the first episode of the show took place. The venue was home to Raw in the early parts of its run.

The episode will also be the go-home show for the 2018 Royal Rumble, with that pay-per-view set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28th.

Tickets for the 25th anniversary episode of Raw will go on sale this Friday via Ticketmaster.
