WWE NXT stars appear during TNA Impact tapings

Note: This post contains spoilers.

The relationship between TNA and NXT continued on Saturday.

During the TNA Impact tapings in San Antonio, Texas, Jordynne Grace teamed with Sol Ruca to take on Wendy Choo and Rosemary. Grace successfully defended the Knockouts title against Choo at Victory Road on Friday.

Also during the tapings, Kendal Grey and Carlee Bright competed against Dani Luna and Jody Threat. Arianna Grace, who in storyline serves as the liaison between TNA and NXT, also appeared.

TNA and NXT stars have been regularly appearing on both programs. Rosemary, who has aligned herself with Wendy Choo in both promotions, will face Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley on Tuesday’s NXT. Hammerstone made his NXT debut on the most recent episode of the program, losing to Oba Femi.

After Zachary Wentz defeated Wes Lee at No Mercy, Wes Lee on this week’s show challenged Wentz to a street fight on the CW premiere of NXT on October 1.

WWE NXT wrestlers appear at TNA Impact tapings

This post contains spoilers.

NXT wrestlers made an appearance during the TNA Impact tapings.

Arianna Grace and Karmen Petrovic appeared during Saturday’s tapings in Louisville, Kentucky. At one point, Petrovic challenged Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts Championship.

The appearances come as TNA and NXT have continued to use talent on their shows as part of a working relationship between the two promotions. During Impact tapings held earlier this month, Dante Chen, Wolfgang, and Riley Osborne appeared. Osborne also appeared during Friday’s Emergence event, failing to win the Ultimate X match for the X Division title.

Rosemary made an appearance on Tuesday’s NXT, losing to Kelani Jordan but seemingly forming an alliance with Wendy Choo, who will face Jordan this Sunday at NXT’s No Mercy premium live event. Two TNA stars will also wrestle at No Mercy, with Zachary Wentz facing former friend Wes Lee and Joe Hendry challenging Ethan Page for the NXT Championship.

December 27, 2006 Observer Newsletter: Year in review, The Spoiler

The different lists above tell the story of the business, at least in highlight form, of 2006, around the world. If there is a basic theme, as far as the major promotions go, it’s that the biggest rise was UFC, that CMLL was also way up. WWE remained strong internationally, but their PPV shows fell domestically.

For live attendance, Mexico ended up as the strongest country in the world. Not only did CMLL have perhaps its best year in history, but AAA remained strong (although it was actually slightly stronger in 2005) with shows geared toward kids and girls especially. AAA suffered the major setback of the death of Antonio Pena, and many thought the promotion would be done by Christmas, with massive defections and a creative standstill. Nothing of the sort happened, but it’s also far too early to gauge the effects of the loss of Pena.

The largest WWE crowds of the year were also on shows in Mexico City. The largest TNA crowd in the history of the company was this past year in Monterrey, Mexico.
