VIDEO: CM Punk returns to WWE Backstage

CM Punk joined WWE Backstage last night to discuss all the goings-on within WWE.

One of the first segments went over what happened on SmackDown this past Friday when King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler humiliated Reigns by handcuffing him to the ringpost and dumping cans of dog food on him. Punk surprised the panel by saying that he understood why they went with the dog food, comparing the angle to that of the end of the movie “Carrie”.

Corbin was later interviewed on the show, explaining his heel role and why he does certain things to garner heat. During the interview, Punk asked if the dog food used in the angle was real and Corbin confirmed that it was.

Punk later gave his thoughts on Seth Rollins’ heel turn on Monday, saying that he was better as a bad guy than a good guy.

Clips from his appearances can be seen below.

VIDEO: CM Punk talks about his return on WWE Backstage

CM Punk followed his debut on last week’s WWE Backstage by joining Renee Young in a sitdown interview on tonight’s episode.

He first reiterated that he is employed by Fox and has not been in contact with anyone from WWE. He said he liked that as he gets to criticize the company. He also said that he was now at a point in his life where he can pick and choose what he does and doesn’t have to work with what he called “jerks”.

Renee asked if anyone interesting texted him after the debut. Punk mentioned Jim Ross, but he didn’t think it was strange as he still regularly texts with him. He mentioned that since leaving wrestling, he’s kept his inner circle small.

The question about returning to WWE in an in-ring capacity was brought up, with Renee Young mentioning that Survivor Series was in Chicago. Punk said he had no interest in doing that, but he’s old enough now to know to never say no. He said it was a bridge that needs to be built, and that bridge is about as big as the Great Wall of China.

Punk remained on the show for the rest of the broadcast, which included a preview of Survivor Series as well as a Promo Class segment with special guest David Arquette. Punk also had advice for Seth Rollins after Rollins called out Punk on Twitter.

VIDEO: Chris Jericho cuts promo on AEW title belt being stolen

Chris Jericho has responded to his AEW World Championship belt being stolen by incorporating the real-life situation into his on-screen character.

In a video posted today, Jericho was shown sitting in a jacuzzi at his home, wearing a scarf and drinking champagne. He cut a promo saying he would be launching a worldwide investigation for the culprit and would be hiring the best private investigators for the job. He ended the promo by saying he would regain, restore, find, and reclaim the championship.

Jericho filed a police report in Tallahassee, Florida on Sunday reporting that his championship wrestling belt had been stolen while he was eating inside a Longhorn Steakhouse restaurant. AEW confirmed the news on their Instagram account, saying that authorities are working on it as we speak.

Longhorn Steakhouse wrote the following on Twitter: “We take the safety of our guests’ property seriously and are doing everything we can to help the local authorities in their efforts. That said, @IAmJericho is a champion with or without his belt.”

The word “MOX” then appears on the screen.

Ambrose has changed his Twitter name to Jon Moxley. His bio is “Professional.wrestler.”

It was confirmed in January that Ambrose would not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expired in April.

Ambrose had his last match for WWE on April 21 when he teamed with The Shield to defeat Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre at “The Shield’s Final Chapter,” which streamed live on the WWE Network.

GFW Amped Sneak Peak Trailer

Global Force Wrestling has posted its first trailer for the company’s Amped television show. The company was founded by Jeff and Karen Jarrett two years ago, and has gained traction over the past year. In January, they brokered a deal to broadcast New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestling Kingdom 9 event live. They also brought Jim Ross back to the commentary table, with Matt Striker as the color analyst and thanks to extensive social media work and promoting Jim Ross’s return hard, the event drew surprisingly well on PPV.

Earlier this year, the company announced its roster full of free agents and New Japan talent working their house shows, and they embarked on a series of house shows at minor league ballparks. In July, they held their first TV tapings with Chael Sonnen acting as a color commentator and Cyrus Fees as the play by play man. GFW promised to do something new that hadn’t been done before, and this trailer indicates that they’re going for a behind the scenes documentary-style format for things that happen outside the ring.

In an interview with Marc Madison of thenewshub.com Jarrett explains why GFW’s vision is unique:

“The vision is fundamentally, very different. It’s also because of the timing of things. I named the company April 7th, 2014 and went directly and worked to form alliances with major promotions in Japan, Mexico and independent promotions in South Africa, Europe and Australia and really dialed in and the NEX GEN title was about giving guys opportunity which quite frankly are too many to name.”
