Tag team match added to WWE NXT

A new tag team match has been added to Tuesday’s NXT.

Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz will take on Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez this coming Tuesday. It will be the first show following this past Sunday’s Great American Bash event.

In the pre-show of the Great American Bash, Leon & Feroz teamed together with Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee to defeat the Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson, and Lash Legend). All eight had been feuding with one another in the weeks prior to the Great American Bash.

An association between Lopez and Vice has been seen in recent weeks on NXT television. Vice was in Lola’s corner when she lost a match to Thea Hail on the July 18 edition of NXT. This will be Vice’s second match on NXT, the first being a battle royal back in June.

The announced lineup for this week’s Great American Bash follow-up episode of NXT:

  • Lyra Valkyria vs. Jacy Jayne
  • Dijak vs. Eddy Thorpe
  • The Schism interrogation segment
  • Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz vs. Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez

Face-to-face segment, tag match added to WWE NXT Gold Rush

WWE has announced a tag match and a new segment for NXT Gold Rush week one. 

Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon vs. Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend is now scheduled for Tuesday’s show. 

During the Heritage Cup match between Nathan Frazier and Oro Mensah last week, Jackson and Legend attempted to interfere on behalf of Mensah. This led to Leon and Feroz running to ringside and evening up the score.

On Sunday, WWE made a tag match between the two teams official. 

WWE has also announced that NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes will be involved in a face-to-face segment with upcoming challenger Baron Corbin on Tuesday. Corbin will challenge the champion for the title on week two of Gold Rush. 

WWE has also confirmed that Chase U will throw a pep rally for Thea Hail on Tuesday. Hail will challenge Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship on week two of Gold Rush. 

WWE NXT Gold Rush week one 6/20:

  • NXT North American Champion Wes Lee defends against Tyler Bate
  • Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in a triple threat to determine #1 contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships

  • Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend vs. Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon

WWE NXT’s Yulisa Leon undergoes surgery

Yulisa Leon has undergone surgery for a suspected knee injury. 

Leon told her tag team partner, Valentina Feroz, on the September 13 episode of NXT that she will be out of action for nine months. During the segment, she said “it’s torn” to her partner but did not specify her exact injury. Leon was wearing a brace around her right knee at the time. 

On Saturday, Leon posted video of her going in for surgery to Instagram. 

“This is my first surgery and I can tell that in every hard moment I’ve been through and every tear I’ve shed in this time, I feel more protected and loved than ever and that’s why I want to thank again to each person who has sent me messages of strength and support. , you are making this process so much easier with all your love and positivity! I am sure that this stage will bring a completely new Yulisa ready to continue leaving her heart above a ring and of course dancing in the pure style of Yulisa Leon your favorite Latina next to my war partner and friend Valentina Feroz -Yulisa León”

Leon debuted for WWE on an episode of 205 Live taped on October 19, 2021. She last wrestled on the August 2 edition of NXT, when she partnered with Feroz in a four-way match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. 

Yulisa Leon to make WWE in-ring debut on 205 Live

An in-ring debut is set for tonight’s 205 Live.

Yulisa Leon (real name Jennifer Michell Cantu Iglesias) will make her WWE in-ring debut as she teams with Katrina Cortez against Valentina Feroz & Amari Miller on 205 Live tonight. Leon is a powerlifter from Monterrey, Mexico who is the daughter of former CMLL wrestler Bronco (Ulises Cantu Gutierrez).

WWE announced the signing of Leon this April.

Cortez was briefly featured on Raw in 2019, going by the name Carolina as she was aligned with Sin Cara. Cortez and Feroz signed with WWE in August 2019, while Miller signed with the company this February.

Xyon Quinn vs. Jeet Rama and Duke Hudson vs. Malik Blade are also set for tonight’s 205 Live. Quinn and Hudson have both been featured as part of the NXT 2.0 revamp, with Hudson recently debuting a new poker player character.

205 Live streams on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays. The show officially changed its format in August to include matches with wrestlers who are over the 205-pound weight limit.
