WWE SmackDown live results: Randy Orton returns home

Randy Orton, the challenger to Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 returns home tonight when SmackDown emanates from St. Louis, MO. Orton comes back to his hometown the clear favorite for many despite his recent actions towards Rhodes, as well as Matt Cardona and Jelly Roll.

We may also find out the identity of the mysterious person who Orton has been talking to on the phone in recent weeks since his betrayal of Rhodes, as he promised to meet with them tonight.

Announced the afternoon of the show was a singles match with Rhea Ripley against Michin, and a segment with the new United States Champion, Sami Zayn, who defeated Carmelo Hayes for the belt last week.

The full lineup for tonight’s WWE SmackDown:

  • Cody Rhodes looks to spoil Randy Orton’s homecoming
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Michin
  • We’ll hear from Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu
  • We’ll hear from new United States Champion Sami Zayn

******************************************

– As tonight’s show kicked off, the voice of Joe Tessitore welcomed us to the night, where we’ll see Rhea Ripley take on Michin, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss versus Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in tonight’s matchups.

– At the commentary desk, Tessitore and Wade Barrett tossed to a recap of Cody Rhodes’ confrontation with Stephanie McMahon on Raw this past Monday.

Randy Orton’s St. Louis Homecoming

As expected, Orton got a huge ovation from this hometown crowd, as they sang his theme song as loud as they could. Orton soaked in all the cheers before finally getting down to business with what he had to say.

Orton started by mocking Cody Rhodes’ “what do you want to talk about” intro when addressing the St. Louis fans. He said that it’s no secret that St. Louis is his hometown, where he was raised here as a young man, and that the next time he’d return here, he’d return as a champion. Orton pointed out that he wasn’t doing it for the fans, for his family. He wasn’t winning the Undisputed WWE Championship for St. Louis, but for the people sitting in the front row.

Orton said that it didn’t matter if Rhodes was going home on a stretcher by the time WrestleMania wrapped, but he was going home empty-handed. Orton again pointed out that Rhodes gave him “the green light” to listen to the voices in his head. However, Orton saw Rhodes on Monday may have been listening to the voices in his own head. Orton pointed out that Rhodes wasn’t a killer and what was awoken inside of him, there was no putting that back to bed.

Cody Rhodes made his way out to a very mixed reception from the St. Louis crowd. As he got to the ring,. he removed his suit and immediately fought with Orton. When Rhodes gained the upper hand, the St. Louis crowd audibly booed loudly. In the ring, Pat McAfee appeared and kicked Rhodes in the groin. Dressed in an Orton shirt, McAfee continued to attack Rhodes as Orton got a mic and handed it to him.

Orton knocked Rhodes down with the chair. McAfee got in some cheap St. Louis sports heat as he spoke. Nick Aldis and company walked down the ramp while McAfee explained himself. A month ago, McAfee said that the business passed him by and it was absolute shit. Orton supposedly called McAfee and told him that the business was just going in a direction nobody liked. McAfee asked why he has to watch 45-minute iron man matches if Randy Orton is around. McAfee brought up SmackDown’s worst-rated episode of all time as he called Rhodes a puppet. McAfee revealed himself as Orton’s mystery caller as he claimed that Orton was going to “save the f*cking business”.

Throughout this, the crowd still cheered as Orton and McAfee laid out Rhodes.

This angle took a rather ridiculous left turn with the Pat McAfee reveal, and a lot of it feels like a retread of what happened with John Cena pre-WM42 last year, especially the whole vibe of “ruining WWE” that this McAfee/Orton thing is taking. Plus, as you can probably tell, the crowd, even with McAfee and Orton doing cheap heat, failed to get the desired reaction as Rhodes getting destroyed was thoroughly cheered. Suffice to say, this angle, like a lot of the WrestleMania 42 build, is kind of a damn mess and it’s getting worse as WWE stumbles along to Las Vegas in two weeks.

******************************************

– Randy Orton and Pat McAfee took pride in what they did as they drove off, stating that they were going to “save the business”.

Rhea Ripley vs. Michin (w/ B-Fab)

Ripley hit Michin with a big boot to start as she pummeled her foe in the corner with clubbing strikes. Michin found herself thrown into the opposite corner and hit with a shoulder thrust from Ripley. A nice fallaway slam from Ripley kept Michin on her toes. At this moment, Jade Cargill made her way to the ramp as Ripley took notice and again threw Michin with a fallaway slam. As Ripley turned her attention to Cargill on the ramp, this allowed Michin to take advantage with a German suplex as we took a break.

The match returned from commercial as Michin continued to have control over Ripley with kicks to the chest, followed by a sleeper submission. However, Ripley used her strength to muscle out of the hold into a suplex. As both women got back to their feet, they traded strikes before Ripley got Michin with consecutive clotheslines followed by a standing flapjack. Michin escaped out of Ripley’s fallaway slam, but she couldn’t get out of the way of the headbutt. This left Michin wide open for a Razor’s Edge, followed by the running knee for the near-fall.

Ripley got Michin in position for Riptide, but she couldn’t connect as she got slammed down face-first. Michin went for a running cannonball in the corner, but struck out as Ripley dodged it. Michin hit a poisonrana on Ripley, followed by Eat Defeat. However, Ripley just managed to kick out at the nick of time. Michin’s piledriver was countered by Ripley, as she found herself trapped in the Prism Trap submission. Michin had no choice but to tap out.

After the match, B-Fab and Michin once again used the numbers game to get the advantage. Just at it looked like we’d see a repeat of the last two weeks, IYO SKY ran in to make the save. Ripley recovered as she and SKY hit stereo dropkicks on B-Fab and Michin to send them retreating.

Rhea Ripley def. Michin via submission

As much as I grouse about the Ripley/Cargill feud being disappointing, this match between Rhea and Michin was at least solid enough. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one match, even independent of the lousy booking that surrounds it.

******************************************

– Matt Cardona was getting looked at as Aleister Black and Zelina confronted him. Black said Randy Orton didn’t change, he just simply embraced who he is, something that Cardona refused to do. This led to Cardona stating that he’d speak to Nick Aldis to make a match between him and Black for later tonight.

– Elsewhere, Solo Sikoa wanted someone to fight Uncle Howdy, as he told Tama Tonga to do it, asking that he not mess this up. Tama requested that he do this alone.

– Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY were interviewed backstage. Ripley said that while Cargill had followers, she had friends, which was why she was going to walk out of WrestleMania as the WWE Women’s Champion.

Tama Tonga vs. Uncle Howdy

Howdy attempted the Mandible Claw in the corner to start, but Tama blocked the attempt. Howdy responded by stomping away on Tama, but he found himself getting attacked along the ropes by repeated headbutts from Tama. Howdy was sent neck-first into the rope by Tama, as we took a commercial break.

We returned from break as Tama had Howdy in a resthold before that was broken by a jawbreaker from the brother of Bray Wyatt. Howdy then began to recover, but a strike with the right hand brought him to pain after Tama slammed it against the stairs earlier. This allowed Tama to regain the advantage with an attack in the corner. However, as Tama went for a running splash, he was caught in the Mandible Claw by Howdy. Solo Sikoa entered with the lantern and mocked Howdy with it. He tried to hit Howdy with it, but the referee stopped him. Tama argued with Sikoa about coming down to help him when he didn’t need it, but this opened him up to a Sister Abigal from Howdy for the pin and win.

After the match, Tama and Sikoa argued back and forth. Tama took the lantern from Sikoa and gave it to Howdy.

Uncle Howdy def. Tama Tonga via pinfall

This match was just kinda there, and the saga of the Lantern ending as anticlimactically as it did here was surprisingly not the worst thing about this first hour of SmackDown (that honor going to the Orton/McAfee/Rhodes tomfoolery that kicked us off tonight).

******************************************

– The Miz and Kit Wilson discussed whether or not there was a curse, as the two confronted R-Truth. This led to an apparent WWE Tag Title Match made between Wilson and Miz versus Truth and Damian Priest.

– We got remarks from Jacob Fatu about his unsanctioned match against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42.

– Elsewhere, Sami Zayn met with Nick Aldis and got confirmation about having pyro. Aldis said that he didn’t give Zayn anything, and that he earned the opportunity last week. However, before Zayn could make his entrance, he got beat to the punch by Trick Williams, who was accompanied in his entrance by Li’l Yachty.

Trick Williams and Li’l Yachty steal the scene

The crowd chanted “whoop that Trick” as the man himself entered the ring with Yachty in tow. Once the two entered, Williams said he was here tonight to celebrate his first WrestleMania match. But, he couldn’t but notice with all the stars coming out, it was only right that Williams brought his pal, Li’l Yachty.

Williams said that he and Yachty went way back. He talked about that he wasn’t going to take “no lip off no gingerbread man”, referencing current U.S. Champion Sami Zayn. Williams asked for Sami Zayn’s pyro to be hit, because he ran SmackDown. The pyro did go off at Williams’ request, which brought Zayn out to respond.

Zayn said that Williams was planning too far ahead with the presentation and the pageantry, which wasn’t his thing. Zayn pointed out that his thing was what he did when he stepped inside the ring. Zayn said that at WrestleMania, Williams was going to go up against one of the best to ever do it, and that he’d be humbled.

Williams didn’t seem fazed by Zayn, as he pointed out that the only reason why Zayn was the U.S. Champion was because of him. This brought out the former U.S. Champion Carmelo Hayes.

Hayes said that he couldn’t sit down and watch this go down any longer. He talked about how he owed Williams a receipt for what he did last week, and he knew a place where he’d cash it. Hayes was upset at how Zayn won the U.S. Title in such a cheap manner after carrying the division for months. Hayes pointed out that the crowd wanted him as he asked Zayn to give him a rematch.

Zayn responded by saying that he thought the world of Hayes, but he lost because of an open challenge. Zayn pointed out that Hayes would have to wait until after WrestleMania for the rematch. Williams tried to egg Zayn on to defend the title. Zayn discussed how taking a shortcut felt good, but it didn’t sit well with him.

Eventually the match was made for tonight, with the winner to face Trick Williams at WrestleMania. As Hayes left, Williams mocked Zayn and ate a clothesline for his troubles.

This U.S. Title rematch will likely be the main event tonight and we’ll probably see a Trick Williams interference spot to set up the triple threat match for WrestleMania.

******************************************

– Tama Tonga was being questioned by Solo Sikoa for giving the Wyatt Lantern back, as he said that he was doing it so they could get back to taking over SmackDown. Sikoa said that they needed to finish the Wyatt Sicks first.

Aleister Black vs. Matt Cardona

Black and Cardona started off with some chain wrestling in this match with neither man getting the clear advantage. Black went after the injured wrist of Cardona with to eventually take the advantage with an arm submission. Cardona fought back and clotheslined Black out of the ring, then hitting his rope-assisted dropkick to the outside. As Cardona got on the apron, Zelina provided a momentary distraction, which allowed Black to trip up Cardona to cause him to crash into the apron as we took a break in the action.

We returned to the match as Cardona hit a spinebuster on Black, but it caused a good deal of pain on that injured wrist of his. Cardona attempted a fightback with essentially one hand as he tried to hit a powerbomb. Black hit him with the knee, but his suplex was countered into a neckbreaker. With Black stunned in the corner, Cardona hit him with the Broski Boot for the near-fall. The attempt at the Rough Ryder from Cardona ended with him being sent face-first into the turnbuckle by Black. After a duel on the top ropes, Cardona won out and hit a dropkick, followed by the double-underhook powerbomb for the close two.

Cardona missed with a second Broski Boot and found himself dropped with a brainbuster from Black. The two exchanged strikes until a Black Mass kick dropped Cardona out cold and that’s it, over.

Aleister Black def. Matt Cardona via pinfall

A fun match for sure. Not really much to complain about at all here. Black’s strikes remain as impressive as ever.

******************************************

– A recap of the latest in the Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi saga from this Monday’s Raw was aired.

– Backstage, R-Truth was with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. The two said that tomorrow night at NXT Stand & Deliver, Johnny Wrestling was back. As Gargano and LeRae left, Damian Priest asked Truth what was up with Truth giving Kit Wilson and Miz a WWE Tag Title shot. Truth said it was because Wilson and Miz were cursed by Asuka, mistaking them for Danhausen.

– Drew McIntyre spoke about the unsanctioned match against Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. He promised that next week, he’d show the whole world who Fatu really was.

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

The two teams immediately went at it as the bell rang. Valkyria and Flair were the legal women in the ring, with the two fighting it out early. Valkyria leapt above Flair with a backflip from the middle turnbuckle as she hit as spinning wheel kick on her. Bliss tagged in blindly, which allowed Flair to gain a momentary advantage to send Valkyria crashing into the corner. Spinning DDT from Bliss to Valkyria took us to the commercial break.

We returned from break with Valkyria still left isolated in the Charlexa corner as she tried to reach to make the tag to Bayley. Bliss managed to slam Valkyria down to stop that attempt. After a missed leg drop from Bliss, Valkyria again tried to go for the tag, but Flair held her in place after entering the match. Valkyria finally created some separation with a diving crossbody from the middle turnbuckle on Flair, which allowed Bayley to finally enter.

Bayley hit a nice running sunset flip powerbomb that sent Flair into the turnbuckle. The subsequent cover was broken up by Flair holding the bottom rope. Both Bayley and Flair ended up on the top rope and jockeyed for the advantage. Valkyria provided a needed assist to Bayley, which allowed Flair to be pushed off. Flying elbow drop by Bayley to Flair wasn’t enough to get the three. Valkyria tagged in and headed to the top rope as they hit a double team Samoan Drop/Blockbuster combination for another near-fall. Valkyria again headed up top and went for a dive. However, Flair caught her and locked in the Figure-Eight. Bayley broke up the submission in the nick of time. Bliss dropkicked Bayley and tagged into the match.

Things broke down with all four women in the ring asBliss and Flair hit the stereo Natural Selections on Bayley and Valkyria to pick up the win.

Almost immediately after the match,. Nia Jax and Lash Legend attacked both teams and left everyone laying.

Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair def. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria via pinfall

This match was really, really good and I liked it. The post-match, on the other hand. Ever get a feeling of a sense of deja vu?

******************************************

– As Kit Wilson and The Miz got ready for their match and wondered about being cursed, Danhausen appeared and wanted to be in their corner. Wilson and Miz refused the kind offer from Danhausen.

WWE Tag Team Championships: R-Truth & Damian Priest (c) vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson

Wilson got a cheap shot in on Truth to start the match. Truth avoided a kick and did a little dance to mock Wilson. Truth found himself in the corner and got hit with stomps from Miz, who tagged in. Truth fought back and tried to hit Cena’s five moves of doom, but Miz blocked it with a boot to the face. Truth was sent out of the ring and hit with a running shoulder attack from Wilson, which led to the break.

We returned from commercial as Miz attempted a Skull-Crushing Finale on Truth, but to no avail. Truth got in the tag to Priest, who cleaned house on Miz and Wilson. Priest then went for an Old School crossbody on Miz and got it flush. Priest crushed Miz with a clothesline, but Wilson interrupted the pin. Truth tagged in and went for an AA, but couldn’t connect. Double down in the ring between Truth and Wilson. This led to Danhausen running into the match.

Danhausen got on the apron and wanted to be tagged in despite not even being in the match officially. Miz realized it and told him to get out as he argued with the referee. Danhausen held the tag rope as Truth now tagged Danhausen into the match. Miz again yelled at Danhausen to leave, but was about to be cursed. The referee ended up being “cursed” by Danhausen as Miz was about to hit him with a Skull-Crushing Finale. The lights went out and Danhausen escaped.

Meanwhile, Truth got hit with the SCF from Miz. However, just as the ref was making the pin, his arm was hurt, apparently the effects of Danhausen’s curse. Priest secured the pin with South of Heaven on Miz.

Damian Priest & R-Truth def. The Miz & Kit Wilson via pinfall

This was a whatever match, where the Danhausen curse antics seemed to be what it was building towards, and I kinda didn’t mind it.

******************************************

Cody Rhodes goes off on Pat McAfee and Randy Orton

After the match, Cody Rhodes stormed into the ring and hit Wilson with Cross Rhodes. Rhodes talked about he was surprised that Randy Orton’s phone friend was Pat McAfee, stating that it’s like if the nWo’s third man was Disco Inferno instead of Hulk Hogan. Rhodes promised to give McAfee his receipt and that he could kiss his ass.

“What are you going to do? Fire me? That worked out for you last time,” Rhodes continued.

Rhodes said that everyone up to and including Stephanie McMahon wanted him to be a bad guy, but he said that he might not know how anymore. At the end of it all, Rhodes pointed out that even with all the surrounding factors, the match between him and Orton is still between two of the best to ever do it. He concluded that he was hearing those voices inside his head finally, but you don’t want to hear what they have to say.

This Rhodes/Orton feud has kind of gone off the rails after tonight’s developments, and this Cody promo didn’t help matters either. I’ll have more about my feelings on it on the wrapup. I will say that Cody dissing the Disco Inferno (referencing an old tweet of his where he took Disco to task) was kinda funny.

******************************************

United States Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes

Trick Williams and Li’l Yachty made his entrance during the commercial break to get a closer look of this match.

Hayes and Zayn locked up in the middle of the ring to start off this match as it turned into a chain wrestling battle. Hayes connected with a dropkick on Zayn and continued to work in the corner with chops to his foe. Zayn turned it around and hit Hayes with chops, followed by bunches of punches. Hayes escaped that and hit his own barrage of punches on Zayn. Irish whip by Hayes led to Zayn flattening him with a flying forearm, which gave the U.S. Champion the advantage here.

Hays roared back with his springboard clothesline as he trapped Zayn across the middle rope to hit the no-look springboard leg drop. Zayn rolled out of the ring and got cracked with a Fosbury Flop from Hayes. On the landing, Hayes appeared to tweak his left leg as we took one final commercial break.

Our main event returned as Hayes was down on the mat favoring his left leg following the apparent injury he sustained before the break. Hayes, however, managed to recover long enough to hit the Dirty Diana for a near-fall. Hayes targeted Zayn for First 48, but it was blocked. Exploder suplex attempt by Zayn was turned into a pin for another near-fall by Hayes. The hurt knee finally allowed Zayn to take advantage with an exploder suplex. Zayn’s attempt at a Helluva Kick was met with a Hayes superkick.

On the top rope, Hayes connected with the frog splash, but the pin wasn’t enough to get the win. Zayn attempted to stack Hayes up for a pin immediately afterwards, but that wasn’t enough. Zayn tried the Blue Thunder Bomb, but the First 48 from Hayes made no mistake. Hayes headed to the top rope and looked for Nothin’ But Net, but Zayn dodged it, which caused Hayes to land on the bad leg. As the referee was checking on Hayes, Zayn took advantage with a Helluva Kick to retain the U.S. Championship.

After the match, Li’l Yachty asked for the music to cut off as he introduced Trick Williams as Zayn’s WrestleMania opponent. As Zayn took exception to Yachty calling him “gingerbread man”, Williams hit him from behind before hitting the Trick Shot knee to end the show.

Sami Zayn def. Carmelo Hayes via pinfall to retain the U.S. Championship

******************************************

I mentioned it earlier, but I have a lot to get off my chest regarding what happened with the Undisputed WWE Title angle tonight and the addition of Pat McAfee. This worked shoot element of McAfee being upset about the state of “current” WWE being the reason why he aligned with Orton does no favors and it reeks of adding way too much to things that it ends up making the entire angle a convoluted nightmare of a build.

The thing is, Orton vs. Rhodes had an initially solid start with Orton’s turn (fans cheering for it aside), but what we’re left with now is a weird copy-paste of last year’s Cena vs. Rhodes story from WrestleMania 41 all to build up Pat McAfee as an angry Redditor siding with Randy Orton for some reason. I don’t think I have to look far in saying what we got tonight was a mess, and Rhodes’ promo later on in the night where he seemed to reject the added “bullshittery”, if you will, just makes it even more confusing. Needless to say, tonight was the biggest speedbump for WWE on the road to WrestleMania 42 and makes it clear that any idea of Triple H being a brilliant booker was nothing more but a mirage.

As for the rest of the show, the matches we got ranged from okay to really good, but I found it hard to get into completely given what led off the show, because that was not a strong start to the night. WrestleMania’s in two weeks, folks, and goodness gracious, it’s gonna be a rough ride to get there. Buckle up.

Updated WWE SmackDown preview for April 3

Update —

WWE has announced that Rhea Ripley vs. Michin will take place on SmackDown tonight, with Ripley looking to get revenge after recent attacks by Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab. Ripley is challenging Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Plus, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss will take on Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.

**********

New United States Champion Sami Zayn will be on SmackDown tonight one week after his title win.

WWE has announced that we’ll hear from Zayn on tonight’s show. He regained the United States Championship from Carmelo Hayes last Friday and is now headed toward a title defense against Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42.

Over the past week, there’s been some backlash on social media with fans unhappy over Hayes dropping the U.S. title and not being factored into WWE’s WrestleMania plans. We’ll see how WWE handles that tonight, and we’ll find out if Zayn plans to continue the United States title open challenge series that he instituted during his August-October 2025 title reign. Ilja Dragunov and Hayes continued that tradition during their respective U.S. title runs.

Williams appeared on the Mornings with Mero radio show this week and said he believes Hayes “deserves” a WrestleMania moment and hopes that Hayes ends up getting one.

Counting tonight, there are only three SmackDown episodes left before WrestleMania. The Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri is hosting tonight’s show.

Randy Orton says he’ll see mystery phone friend on WWE SmackDown

Since turning heel on Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton has been teasing an alliance with a mystery phone friend for weeks.

While hinting at a union with a member of another one of wrestling’s royal families, Orton has not yet discussed anything concrete on the caller’s identity. Recently, Orton shared an update on social media where he claimed that he would be seeing his mystery phone friend on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.

SmackDown is scheduled to take place on April 3rd, 2026, in Orton’s hometown of St.Louis, Missouri.

Likewise, man. I appreciate everything you’ve been doing for me. Yeah, I think we are good to go. This Friday, right? I’d see you in St.Louis,” Orton said.

Ever since winning the 2026 Elimination Chamber and earning a shot at Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 42, Orton has turned to his villainous gimmick. He has since then attacked Rhodes, Matt Cardona, and even his old tag-team partner, Jelly Roll.

WWE SmackDown ratings info from last week

Last Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown averaged 1.308 million viewers on USA, down 9.1% from the previous week and the lowest audience for the show since March 6.

SmackDown averaged a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 3.1% from the prior week and the best rating it’s done in that category since February 27.

The show went head-to-head with coverage of NCAA men’s basketball tournament “Sweet 16” action on CBS, TBS and Tru TV, which dominated the ratings for the night.

SmackDown finished fourth on the primetime cable charts, trailing only basketball-related programming, and was the highest rated show in 18-49 on all television aside from that coverage, beating everything else on the major networks as well as cable.

As compared to the same week in 2025 and against similar competition, overall viewership was down 3.1% while the 18-49 rating was down 17.5%.

Nikki Bella appears to suffer injury during WWE SmackDown

Nikki Bella appears to be injured.

During SmackDown on Friday, The Bella Twins wrestled Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss. However at some point during the match, according to Bryan Alvarez, Nikki Bella apparently got hurt.

“Not sure the severity but Nikki Bella appeared to suffer some sort of leg injury while brawling off screen with Nia Jax before the finish of their tag match on SmackDown,” he writes. “She was limping and had Nia throw her outside afterwards and never got into the ring again, and the doctor was over checking on her for the rest of the segment. Hopefully she’s ok.”

Brie scored the pinfall win for her team before Lash & Jax entered and proceeded to assault both teams, something that they had been doing for the last several weeks. Bayley and Lyra Valkryria, who are set to challenge the champions on Raw this coming Monday, ran down for the save.

The title scene in recent weeks on SmackDown has revolved around Bliss & Flair and the Bella Twins attempting to take down The Irresistible Forces, with both teams getting title matches but ultimately coming up short. Jax and Legend have proven dominant, repeatedly laying out both teams with WrestleMania only a few weeks away.

Trick Williams invites Lil Yachty to next WWE SmackDown

Former NXT Champion Trick Williams has invited Lil Yachty to the next edition of WWE SmackDown.

Earlier this week, fans witnessed Sami Zayn defeat Carmelo Hayes to become the new United States Champion. In a feud with Williams, Zayn then proceeded to book himself in a title match against Williams at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Ahead of his WrestleMania match, Williams has now invited rapper Lil Yachty to attend next week’s SmackDown in St. Louis on April 3rd, 2026.

So after last night, I’ve been in deep contemplation about what’s going on around here. How in the world did The Gingerbread Man walk out with the United States Championship last night?” Williams asked.

So this is what we about to do about it. We about to change up the whole dynamic. I wanna personally invite my boy, I’m talking about my day one, a long time back, my HBCU brother Lil Yachty, I need for you to pull up to SmackDown this week,” he added.

We in St. Louis, I need for you to pull up, spice things up, talk to these folks, man. Let them know what’s going on around here. The games are done, grown folk talking. Pull up on me, dog, let’s talk about it.”

Lil Yachty has become a familiar presence at WWE events in recent years, and with WWE’s love for adding celebrities to WrestleManias, fans can expect Lil Yachty to become a part of it this year alongside the heavily rumored Tom Brady WrestleMania appearance.

Next week, on April 4th, NXT is also set to host Stand & Deliver, where rapper Sexxy Red is scheduled for an appearance.

Randy Orton RKOs Jelly Roll on WWE SmackDown

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ story towards WrestleMania continued on Friday, with Jelly Roll caught in the line of fire.

Orton defeated Matt Cardona on SmackDown after Cardona challenged him to a match earlier in the night. Right after Orton won, however, Rhodes pulled up to the arena on his tour bus and started to make his way to the ring as the two quickly got into a brawl. Security and other WWE officials came to the ring to try and maintain order but repeatedly failed as both Rhodes and Orton frequently broke free attacking one another.

The two eventually were separated on opposite corners of the ring as Jelly Roll, who defeated Kit Wilson earlier in the night, came out in an attempt to bring the temperature down. Orton broke free yet again and this time set his ire towards Jelly Roll, laying him out with an RKO. Orton then exited the ring smiling as the show closed.

Orton took out Rhodes two weeks ago, turning against his former friend and left him a bloody mess. He later explained that when Rhodes told him to be the best version of himself for WrestleMania, that allowed Orton to let the voices in his head guide him. Despite pleas from Jelly Roll to try and make things right, Orton continued his rampage on last week’s show by taking out Cardona.

However, another person seems to be guiding Orton in recent weeks as the multi-time WWE Champion has been seen talking on the phone with someone. Prior to the main event segment on Friday, Orton told the person on the other line that he’d see them soon.

Sami Zayn wins United States title on WWE SmackDown

Sami Zayn has WrestleMania plans after all.

Zayn picked up the win over Carmelo Hayes on Friday to win the United States title for a second time. During the match, Trick Williams came out to watch, upset after Zayn attacked him earlier in the night. The new SmackDown star grabbed the United States title and gave it to Zayn, distracting the referee in the process. That allowed Williams to knock out Hayes, allowing an unassuming Zayn to take advantage with the helluva kick for the win.

The match came about when Zayn walked in on Nick Aldis telling Williams that he had a spot on the WrestleMania card. Zayn asked Aldis about his status and was stunned to find out that Aldis didn’t have a spot for him. Dejected, Zayn started to walk away but overheard Williams taunting him about going to catering. Zayn punched out Williams and told Aldis he was goign to find a way to get to WrestleMania, answering Hayes’ open challenge for the United States title.

Following his victory, Zayn spoke to Aldis again, asking him if there were plans for him at WrestleMania now. Aldis replied that there were, and announced a title match between Zayn and Williams for WrestleMania 42 next month.

WWE SmackDown live results: Jelly Roll vs. Kit Wilson

Last week’s SmackDown ended on a chaotic note with Randy Orton laying waste to Matt Cardona after an apology gone wrong, as well as Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu’s all-night brawl ending with the two taking a fall off a high ledge.

Tonight, the challenger to Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 will be on the prowl for his next target. Meanwhile, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis has promised an update on McIntyre and Fatu’s conditions following the end of last week’s show.

In the ring, Jelly Roll will face off against Kit Wilson after their slam poetry battle last week ended with Wilson attacking Jelly Roll and taking him out with a diving elbow from the top.

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair take on the Bella Twins as the two teams finally get a chance to settle thier scores following two weeks of their respective Women’s Tag Team Title matches against The Irresistable Forces being disrupted by one another.

****************

– After the introduction to the stars competing tonight on SmackDown, we went to a live shot of the arena before Joe Tessitore tossed to a recap of last week, particularly as it related to Randy Orton’s recent actions.

Randy Orton kicks off SmackDown

Speaking of Orton, he emerged from the back to kick off tonight’s show, with the fans still cheering as loud as ever for him despite what he’s done as of late.

Orton started by talking about how two weeks ago, Cody Rhodes asked him to be the best version of Randy Orton that he could be. Orton said that Rhodes told him he wanted him to be The Viper again, to listen to the voices as he thought about his legacy and his 15th World Title. And then, Rhodes gave him his blessing out of nowhere. Now, that he’s listening to the voices to his head, he can’t be held responsible for what happens next. However, there is one person outside of Orton’s head that he was supposedly listening to. Before he could go on, Matt Cardona interrupted, looking like he was ready for a fight.

Orton protested loudly at Cardona’s arrival, as he found himself bopped with the microphone to the head. Orton was left to stew in anger outside the ring after eating a hard shot to the head.

An interesting start to the night, with the fans cheering for Orton more than ever, and it’s only piquing how they’ll be when Cody Rhodes returns for his part of the WrestleMania match build.

***********

– As Nick Aldis was chatting with a referee, Trick Williams wanted to talk business with him. Aldis said that Williams has been on the upswing as of late, and it’s earned him a spot at WrestleMania. Sami Zayn showed up and wondered what his place at WrestleMania would be. Aldis spelled out the reality for Zayn, stating that due to his recent struggles, there was no spot for Zayn at WrestleMania. As Zayn walked off sullenly, he seemed to have enough of Williams’ taunting, as he punched him out. “I’m going to have a match at WestleMania, just you watch,” Zayn said as he left.

– Randy Orton angrily stormed backstage, looking for Nick Aldis and wanting a piece of Matt Cardona for what he did to him just now. Aldis made the match official.

The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella) vs. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair

The reigning WWE Women’s Tag Champions, The Irresistable Forces, appeared before the match and talked about how they were facing Lyra Valkyrie and Bayley for their titles on Raw this Monday. Nia Jax and Lash Legend talked trash about the Bellas and Charlexa as they made their way to ringside.

Flair and Nikki kicked off the match as the latter held her own against both Bellas early. Nikki managed to take Flair down with a knee to the face as Brie tagged in. Brie hit an elbow to the arm of Flair from the top rope, but found herself hit with a hard chop to the chest. Bliss tagged in and hit an assisted dropkick on Brie as Flair lifted her up.

Brie’s sunset flip was turned into a dropkick by Bliss. As she went for her baseball slide attack, Brie used the apron to trap her to avoid the attack. The Bellas took advantage as they attacked Bliss while she was trapped behind the apron as we took a commercial break.

We returned from the break as Bliss fought out of the corner briefly, before Brie took her back to her corner to tag Nikki in. Bliss rolled out of the way to try and tag Flair, but she got dropped by a spinebuster. After a struggle, Flair entered the match on a hot tag and took down both Bellas with a diving crossbody. She then hit both Nikki and Brie with chops a-plenty before the walkover clothesline on Nikki.

Flair took time to taunt Nia Jax and Lash Legend on the apron before she tagged Bliss in. The Bellas regained advantage as they isolated Bliss with a variation of the Hart Attack. Flair broke up the count before Nikki threw her out of the ring. In the ring, Lash Legend punched Bliss, which allowed Brie to roll her up for the pin and win.

After the match, tensions intensified as The Irresistable Forces proceeded to yet again lay waste to everyone in the ring. That was before Bayley and Lyra Valkyria ran in to fight their opponents for Raw this Monday at MSG. Bayley and Valkyria threw the Irresistable Forces out of the ring, with the help of the Bellas and Charlexa.

The Bella Twins def. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair

This was rough, not going to lie. I’ve got no interest in seeing the Bella Twins in the women’s tag title picture, and this match just felt average to me as a result.

– Damian Priest found R-Truth wearing a vest and talking with a construction worker. Truth thought The Judgement Day was back as Jelly Roll showed up and was immediately called him “Dominik Mysterio”. Not helping Truth’s assumptions was Rhea Ripley showing up, which led Truth to assume that Dom and “Mami” were back. Jelly motivated Ripley about her chances against Jade Cargill at WrestleMania. As Jelly and Truth left, Ripley congratulated Priest on his WWE Tag Team Title win before heading her way to take care of Jade Cargill.

– Backstage, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss argued with the Bella Twins after the furor in the opening match. The Bellas stated that they’d do whatever they took to become Women’s Tag Champs, much to the chagrin of Charlexa.

Rhea Ripley goes after Jade Cargill

The challenger to the WWE Women’s Championship made her way to the ring, looking for a little payback after last week’s run-in with Cargill and her new allies Michin and B-Fab.

Ripley said that she didn’t expect any integrity from Jade Cargill, that she knew how Cargill would do anything to get her hands dirty. However, Ripley wasn’t expecting B-Fab and Michin to stoop down to Cargill’s level, but she didn’t care because Ripley was ready to go through anyone she pleased on her way to WrestleMania. Ripley threw out the challenge, as Jade Cargill’s music hit.

The WWE Women’s Champion made her way to the stage, flanked by her new allies in Michin and B-Fab. Cargill said that Ripley sounded real slick for someone who got dropped last week. Cargill talked about how Michin and B-Fab enjoyed being in a position of power standing side-by-side with her. As B-Fab talked trash about Ripley, the crowd booed very loudly.

Michin talked about how she and B-Fab have been working as hard and as long as Ripley has been, but never got any recognition. Cargill said that B-Fab would step up to Ripley tonight.

Ripley said that she was going to teach B-Fab that actions have consequences, and that she was someone that Cargill couldn’t protect as a referee went down to get this match started after the break.

Gotta say, I’ve never been a fan of “wrestlers join hated rival who’s been beating them up for months”, and this B-Fab/Michin/Cargill alliance checks that box, unfortunately. It’s making the build to Cargill vs. Ripley a bit shaky as a result.

Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab

This match began after the break with Ripley in firm control, even with Michin and Cargill trying to get involved. Ripley kicked Michin in the face, and headbutted B-Fab. Cargill retaliated by throwing Ripley into the stairs to force a DQ.

After the match, Ripley found herself falling victim to another three-on-one beatdown from Cargill and company.

Rhea Ripley def. B-Fab via disqualification

I can’t even comment on this as a match, and the segment ending with the same angle of the WWE version of Cargill’s Baddies stable laying Ripley out didn’t help matters. Copy+Paste booking continues to be a plague for WWE Creative.

– As the Miz continued to deny to Kit Wilson that he was cursed by Danhausen, Wilson found himself met by Danhausen himself. Wilson tried to call Danhausen “toxic”, but he was instead cursed.

– We got a recap of the chaos that unfolded last week between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu. After the recap, McIntyre walked backstage, with bandages on his arms and wrist. He was asked about how he felt after last week. McIntyre said he was in no condition to fight, but if Fatu wanted to start something, he was here to finish something. McIntyre noted how Fatu took everything from him, and when a man has nothing to lose that’s when he was his most dangerous.

Jelly Roll vs. Kit Wilson

Before the match, Wilson said that Jelly crossed a line last week, so he had to defend his mother. Wilson then partook in some more “slam poetry” before Jelly shouted that it was time to go. Jelly took a cheapshot from Wilson before the bell rang.

Wilson missed a dropkick, which allowed Jelly to drop a leg between Wilson’s leg. He then attempted his own take on the Dusty Rhodes bionic elbows, but Wilson stopped him. As Wilson tried to skim the cat, Jelly clotheslined him out of the ring, as Wilson threw a tantrum in the ring.

Wilson took advantage by using his poetry book as a distraction, which allowed to hit his running uppercut to Jelly in the corner. Wilson had control of the match as he stomped away on Jelly and taunted him. Wilson threw Jelly into the corner and looked like he was going for his runnng uppercut again. Jelly dodged and got Wilson with a belly-to-belly suplex. The two men recovered and began trading blows, with Jelly finally hitting the Dusty elbow.

Jelly attempted the chokeslam, but was countered. Wilson tried to jump from the top rope, but was caught into a powerslam by Jelly. With the ref focused on Wilson, Jelly tried to hit Wilson with the poetry book, but he missed. Wilson got him with the Tourniquet for the near-fall.

Wilson went for another Tourniquet, but Jelly reversed it with an Irish Whip, followed by the chokeslam for the win. After the match, Jelly celebrated his win with his son in the crowd.

Jelly Roll def. Kit Wilson via pinfall

To quote Good ‘Ol J.R.: this match was bowling shoe ugly, but the crowd seemed to get into it regardless. As someone who is very much not a Jelly Roll fan, the most generous thing I can say that while he wasn’t the best here, he did not look terrible. And at the very least, Wilson is the perfect guy to be eating losses to celebrity non-wrestlers like Jelly.

– We got a recap of the latest in the saga between CM Punk and Roman Reigns from Raw this past Monday.

– Solo Sikoa was giving a “pep talk” of sorts to the M.F.T.s as he wanted to apologized for how he acted last week towards them, as he talked about how Roman Reigns would never apologize. Carmelo Hayes offered an opportunity to Tama Tonga as he headed out for the U.S. Title Open Challenge. Shinsuke Nakamura once again appeared next to Tama, asking him if he was “good”.

U.S. Title Open Challenge: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Sami Zayn

A former U.S. Champion himself, Zayn was revealed as Hayes’ Open Challenge challenger.

As Zayn got into the ring, Trick Williams made his entrance to a massive ovation from the crowd. He was here to have a closer look at this U.S. Title match.

In the ring, things started out fast with Zayn on the attack against Hayes, as he hit a hard clothesline on his foe. Zayn maintained the attack in the corner with chops to Hayes’ chest, but the U.S. Champion fought back with some strikes of his own. Hayes got the momentum back with his springboard clothesline, followed by the springboard leg drop. This took us to the break.

This U.S. Title match returned from commercial as Hayes tried to keep control of the match, but Zayn clotheslined him out of the ring. Zayn hit a dive over the top rope on Hayes at ringside as he then stared down Williams briefly. Zayn turned his focus back to the match and leapt from the top rope. Hayes, interecepted Zayn’s dive with a dropkick that hit him flush for a near-fall. Hayes connected with the Dirty Diana as he had Zayn his sights for First 48. Zayn caught Hayes and slammed him for the sitdown powerbomb for another near-fall.

With Hayes in the corner, Zayn was looking for the Helluva Kick, but the U.S. Champion avoided calamity. However, Hayes found himself in a compromising situation on the top rope, as Zayn hit an incredible superplex, which took us to the second commercial break of this match.

We returned from commercial as Zayn hit a sunset flip powerbomb on Hayes, but that wasn’t enough for the win just yet. Hayes fought back with elbows to Zayn’s face, followed by the superkick. As Hayes ran at Zayn in the corner, he was caught for the patented exploder suplex in the corner. Zayn had Hayes lined up for the Helluva Kick, but he got hit with First 48 instead! One, two….. 2.999999999!!!!!!!!!!

Hayes headed up the top rope and looked for Nothin’ But Net, but Zayn reversed it into a Blue Thunder Bomb! One, two…. Hayes kicked out once more! Outside the ring, Trick Williams took a hold of the U.S. Title and gave it to Sami Zayn. With the referee distracted, Williams kocked Hayes out cold, which led to Zayn taking advantage with a Helluva Kick and that’s it over. Sami Zayn is your new U.S. Champion.

Sami Zayn def. Carmelo Hayes via pinfall to win the United States Championship

This was a solid match once again, and Zayn winning through dubious means will likely continue his descent to darkness, so to speak. I liked this one, and it’s probably the best match of the night so far.

**********

– Sami Zayn was all smiles backstage as he approached Nick Aldis about having earned that spot at WrestleMania, which he has done so. However, he’s facing Trick Williams in Las Vegas.

Jacob Fatu calls out Drew McIntyre

With a “Yaddiahmean” to start, Fatu said that even with busted ribs and all that happened to him, he said something was wrong with Drew McIntyre. Everything that McIntyre did was not going to be enough to keep him down, whether it was kicking his teeth down his throat or being thrown off a side of the building. McIntyre did everything in his power, but Fatu was still standing and he was going to stay standing every week to dogwalk McIntyre’s ass.

And speaking of McIntyre, the surly Scotsman made his way from the back, with mic in hand. McIntyre said that Fatu was playing victim, as he declared himself to be the victim instead. He was accused of a crime of he didn’t commit, but in McIntyre’s eyes, Fatu was nothing but a criminal who stole everything from him. McIntyre said that he meant it from the bottom of the heart when he told Fatu to “screw your damn kids”.

Before Fatu could go after McIntyre, Nick Aldis stopped him before anything could happen. The two were not in any condition tonight, but maybe they’d be ready for WrestleMania. On April 18th, these two would face off in a match that was officially “unsanctioned” by WWE.

The Fatu/McIntyre feud hitting its climax at WrestleMania should make for a heck of a blowoff. The unsanctioned stipulation should make for a very fun match with all the plunder.

***********

– Matt Cardona was told by Jelly Roll that Cody Rhodes was on his way, but Cardona wanted Rhodes to not get involved in his match against Randy Orton.

Giulia (w/ Kiana James) vs. Tiffany Stratton

Stratton was caught in a standing headlock by Giulia, but she reversed out of it. Chain wrestling action between Stratton and Giulia to get us going here in the early stages of the match. Giulia threw Stratton across opposite corners before doing so across the ring. When Giulia tried it again, Stratton did a somersault flip to get out of it, which allowed her to hit Giulia with a dropkick to the corner. Stratton returned the favor and slammed Giulia across the four corners. She then connected with an unusual looking springboard stunner-like maneuver, which took us to the break.

We returned from break as Giulia had Stratton in a headlock, but not for long, as the former WWE Women’s Champion reversed with a spinebuster. As the two recovered, Stratton had all the momentum with the gymnastic-style splash, then the cartwheel Alabama Slam on Giulia. One, two… not quite! Stratton put Giulia on her shoulders, but couldn’t capitalized, as the Women’s U.S. Champion briefly escaped. Giulia hit a nice back suplex on Stratton, followed by the Arrivederci Knee for the near-fall.

Giulia kicked at Stratton’s head and put her on the top rope, looking for some high-impact damage. Giulia had Stratton in position for a superplex, but she was tossed aside and fell victim to the Swanton Bomb. Somehow, Giulia kicked out just in the nick of time. Giulia tried to lift Stratton, but she was instead taken for a ride with the rolling Senton. Kiana James got on the apron to stare down Stratton, which caused a bit of a delay on the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, as Giulia took advantage with the knees up to the ribs, and the pinfall win.

Giulia def. Tiffany Stratton via pinfall

This was a great little match, as Giulia and Stratton had some great chemistry here. I liked this more than i expeceted to, and it was a nice surprise, for sure.

**********

– Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were interviewed just as they were headed out of the arena. The two said that they put the women’s tag division on notice and come Monday on Raw, they were ready to show Nia Jax and Lash Legend who the dominant women’s team was when they become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

– Randy Orton was shown talking on the phone with the mysterious person on the other line, promising that he’d see them soon.

– A recap of Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar’s encounter from this past Monday’s Raw was shown.

Randy Orton vs. Matt Cardona

Cardona rushed the ring, but found himself stomped by Orton early on, but he used his cast as a weapon to fight back. Outside the ring, Orton cracked Cardona’s arm across the commentary table before hitting his signature back suplex onto the commentary table. Orton continued the assault on Cardona’s wrist as he the n dropped him across the top of the barrier. Orton trapped Cardona’s wrist between the commentary table cover and the table itself as he then stomped on the wrist for maximum damage.

Cardona tried to create some separation against Orton, as he connected with the Rough Ryder for a near-fall. Orton rolled out of the ring and walked his way back to the ramp, as Cardona tried to go after him. Bad mistake, however, as Orton caught him and pushed him into the ringpost. Orton smashed Cardona’s wrist across the steel steps, as he then threw him shoulder-first into the ringpost. Orton ripped off the protective cover on Cardona’s left wrist, leaving it exposed to even more damage from an uncaring Orton. Cardona’s wrist was pinned by Orton’s foot in the middle of the ring, as it was stomped on repeatedly.

Orton threw Cardona into another ringpost shoulder-first and stretched the wrist once more. This was followed by an RKO from Orton. After a long wait, Orton eventually pinned Cardona for the win.

Randy Orton def. Matt Cardona

Not really much of an actual match as it was to establish this new heel Orton, so not really a lot for me to say about it on a technical standpoint.

As Orton was celebrating, Cody Rhodes arrived on his bus, as he stepped out ready to confront his former friend.

**********

Cody Rhodes confronts Randy Orton

The Undisputed WWE Champion arrived, all business as Nick Aldis and a gaggle of security tried to stop Rhodes from entering the ring. Despite Aldis’ best efforts, Rhodes said that he just wanted to talk to Orton as he stormed forward to the ring. Rhodes got on the apron and stared down Orton and immediately got into it with his former friend.

Rhodes went after Orton as security tried and failed to separate everyone. Rhodes blocked an attempted steel chair strike from Orton and kept hammering away at him. Rhodes gouged Orton’s eyes before the security seemed to keep him at bay. Orton attempted to retreat, but found himself once again on the receiving end of Rhodes’ assault. As this brawl entered the ring, the security and referees finally managed to separate Rhodes and Orton on opposite corners.

Rhodes broke free and got in some shots at Orton, who returned that in kind with a leaping strike of his own. Outside the ring, Orton took out some security personnel, but found himself taken down by Rhodes yet again. This fight yet again broke into the ring with the security trying their best to keep the peace. Jelly Roll got into the ring and attempted to calm Orton and Rhodes down while the two were being separated. Meanwhile Orton broke free and punched security before he hit an RKO on Jelly Roll! The fans were once again chanting “Randy” at this latest move as the Levesque & Fitting credits saw us off for tonight.

************

As far as pull-apart brawls are concerned — and given it’s a very popular Triple H booking trope — that one seemed a bit lifeless. Jelly Roll getting dropped with the RKO was the only notable highlight of it all, mainly for the continuing trend of Orton being cheered for doing heelish things despite the WWE “narrative” being that he’s supposed to be a scumbag we should hate for his betrayal of his best friend Cody Rhodes. That recurring element of Orton seemingly being heel heat-proof because of his status as a legend and everyone wanting him to win his 15th title at WrestleMania is making this feud with Rhodes an interesting one, just not in the way WWE is intending.

As for the rest of the show, this was kind of a weak edition of the show, with the U.S. Title Match and Giulia vs. Stratton being the standouts. This Road to WrestleMania has just been dull, and with the event in just three short weeks, it’s unclear if the show as a whole will be enticing for fans to tune in. The dull-as-dishwater booking for most of the feuds isn’t helping matters either.

Updated WWE SmackDown preview for March 27

WWE has made a couple of new announcements — and an apparent adjustment to the card — for this week’s episode of SmackDown.

– SmackDown is taking place from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh this Friday night. WWE has announced that Randy Orton will appear on the show, with the company teasing that Orton will be looking for a new target after his recent attacks on Cody Rhodes and Matt Cardona. Orton is now just a few weeks away from challenging Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

– Though not official yet, a match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre is expected to be added to the WrestleMania card soon. – It was initially announced that Tiffany Stratton would challenge Giulia for the Women’s United States Championship on SmackDown. That looks to have changed with WWE.com now advertising Giulia vs. Stratton as a “non-title showdown.”

Jelly Roll vs. Kit Wilson, Women’s US title match set for next WWE SmackDown

Jelly Roll will be in action next week.

The music star demanded and got a match for next week’s SmackDown in Pittsburgh against Kit Wilson after Wilson laid out Jelly Roll following during a slam poetry read-off. The Bella Twins will also be in action, and the Women’s United States title will be on the line.

Jelly Roll answered Kit Wilson’s callout and immediately demanded a fight. Wilson rejected the offer and instead proposed a slam poetry read-off, which was designed to insult Jelly Roll’s weight loss among other issues. After Jelly Roll fired off with some comebacks involving Wilson’s mother, Wilson retaliated by laying out Jelly Roll and striking him with a diving elbow. Later in the show, Jelly Roll recovered enough to walk up to Nick Aldis demand a match, which he got for next week.

The Bella Twins and Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss will meet after the latter team interfered in the twin’s WWE Tag Team title match against champions Lash Legend & Nia Jax, causing a DQ. The three teams brawled after the match but much like last week, the segment ended with Jax and Legend standing tall.

Giulia will defend the United States title against Tiffany Stratton, indicating on this week’s show that she was upset that Stratton had embarrassed her the previous week. The segment also hinted at dissension between Kiana James and Giulia.
