UFC on ESPN+ 101 live results: Renato Moicano vs. Benoit Saint-Denis

The UFC returns to France for the third straight year as the Octagon is once again inside the Accor Arena in Paris, this time for UFC on ESPN+ 101.

The main event is an exciting five-round lightweight match-up as Renato Moicano takes on Benoit Saint-Denis. Moicano has been seeing a rise in both popularity and in the lightweight rankings in the midst of his current three-fight win streak. Saint-Denis will be competing in his first UFC main event in his home country as he looks to rebound from a loss to Dustin Poirier in March.

In the co-main event, it is a pivotal middleweight bout that could have title eliminator aspirations attached to it as Nassourdine Imavov looks to extend his three-fight unbeaten streak against Brendan Allen, winner of seven straight fights.

Also on the main card is a featherweight bout between William Gomis and Joanderson Brito, a welterweight bout pitting Kevin Jousset against former TUF winner Bryan Battle, a featherweight fight between Morgan Charriere and Gabriel Miranda, and a lightweight opener between Fares Ziam and Matt Frevola.

Duncan with a leg kick as Oki lands a right hand. Oki with another right hand as they trade in close range. Oki lands a jab then a right hand. Duncan lands a kick and Oki grabs it and throws him to the mat, but Duncan pops right up. Oki lands a right hand and then another as Duncan lands a leg kick. Duncan shoots for a takedown and has the neck, but Oki gets it down. They pop right up as Oki lands some shots. They separate and Oki lands a flurry. Oki lands a knee to the body. They trade right hands. Oki gets a takedown and Duncan locks in a guillotine choke. Oki looks like he survives and Duncan lets go, but then Oki goes out cold a second later and it is all over! Duncan didn’t even know Oki was out until after landing a couple of punches after letting the choke go.

They trade and Cornolle looks for a takedown as she pushes it to the fence. Cornolle with the body lock. Cornolle gets it down and moves into full mount. Perez goes for a takedown as they clinch, but they break. Perez tries a kick but Zhelezniakova grabs it and pushes Perez to the mat. Zhelezniakova gets in side control and lands. They get to their feet. Perez with a leg kick. Perez grabs the body lock and looks for a takedown as she has the back. They go to the fence. Perez gets the takedown and is in the mount. Perez lands some elbows and then locks in an arm-triangle choke. She is squeezing and Zhelezniakova taps. Nice work from Perez to get the finish.

Frevola is able to score a takedown. Frevola looks for a guillotine choke and tries to mount it but Ziam escapes, though Frevola is still in the full mount. Ziam tries to roll out and Frevola looks for an armbar, but Ziam ends up on top. Ziam lands some big punches. They get to their feet. Ziam lands a right hand and Frevola is hurt. Miranda tries a takedown but Charriere defends. Miranda pulls guard and Charriere lands some elbows from the top. They get to their feet. Miranda lands a jab. Charriere with a jab. Saint-Denis with some early kicks. Moicano grabs a leg on a kick attempt and scores a takedown. Moicano controlling from the top and then is able to transition to the back. He has back mount and is landing lots of punches and elbows. Saint-Denis is cut open. Moicano now in full mount and is landing big punches and elbows. Moicano landing big shots from the top and Saint-Denis is bleeding badly and in survival mode. Moicano continuing to land big shots. Saint-Denis somehow survives the round. 10-8 Moicano.

Saint-Denis lands some left hands to the body. Moicano lands a jab after he looked for a takedown. Saint-Denis with a head kick. Moicano lands a right hand. Moicano lands some punches. Saint-Denis lands a combination. Moicano looks for a takedown against the fence but Saint-Denis defends. Saint-Denis is bleeding badly again. He goes for a takedown but Moicano defends. They trade at the end. 10-9 Saint-Denis, 19-18 Moicano.

The fight has been stopped as Saint-Denis’ right eye is completely closed up and he can’t see out of it, and the doctor has said he can’t continue, so referee Marc Goddard has called it off. This will be a win for Moicano.

UFC on ESPN+ 84 live results: Ciryl Gane vs. Serghei Spivac

The Octagon remains overseas this week as UFC action returns to France for UFC On ESPN+ 84: Gane vs. Spivac, taking place from the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

In the main event, it’s a heavyweight battle as former Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane looks to bounce back into the win column in his home country when he takes on Serghei Spivac. Gane is coming off a title fight loss to Jon Jones in March, while Spivac comes in riding a three-fight win streak.

In the co-main event, it’s another pivotal bout in the women’s flyweight division as Manon Fiorot takes on former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas, who makes the move to 125 pounds for the first time. Also on the main card is a lightweight bout between Benoit Saint-Denis and Thiago Moises, as well as a light heavyweight battle as Volkan Oezdemir takes on the debuting Bogdan Guskov.

He lands several more elbows. He lands more and is looking for an arm-triangle choke. He gets it in and Rodrigues taps! Great finish from Basharat as he remains undefeated.

The Octagon debuts in France for a long-awaited and much-anticipated first event to be held in Paris, a show that has been years in the making, and it brings along a heavyweight main event featuring one of the country’s most popular home fighters.

In the main event, former Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane looks to get back into the win column, and back into title contention, as he takes on streaking knockout artist Tai Tuivasa in a five-round affair. Gane is looking to rebound from a title unification loss to Francis Ngannou in January, while Tuivasa is on a five-fight win streak, all coming by knockout, after finishing Derrick Lewis in February.

In the co-main event, former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker also looks to get back into title contention as he faces former title challenger Marvin Vettori. Also on the main card is a middleweight bout between Nassourdine Imavov and Joaquin Buckley, a middleweight battle pitting Alessio Di Chiricio against Roman Kopylov, and an exciting featherweight match-up between Charles Jourdain and Nathaniel Wood.

Egger stands and moves to side control. They scramble to the feet and Perez scores a brief takedown but they stand. They go to the mat as Egger has an arm and Egger ends up in side control and lands some punches. They get to their feet. Perez lands a flurry against the fence. They clinch at the end. 10-9 Egger.

They exchange to start the second and Perez gets the better of it before they clinch. They trade knees and Perez went for a takedown but Egger reversed though Perez ends up on top in side control. They get to their feet and Egger is on the single leg but lets go. Egger gets a takedown and is landing from the top. Egger gets the back and lands some punches as she looks to get the hooks in. She has back control and is looking for a choke. She gets a rear-naked choke locked in and Perez taps with seconds left in the round. Nice finish for Egger.

Quinonez lands a right hand that trips Taha up and gets on top and lands some shots and it is stopped. Nice finish by Quinonez.

Miranda lands some right hands. Saint-Denis lands a spinning back fist that makes Miranda slip but he gets up and they trade until Saint-Denis gets a takedown. Saint-Denis lands from the top and stands and Miranda is ordered up. Saint-Denis lands a flurry and Miranda goes down and Saint-Denis gets on top and is landing with punches and elbows. Saint-Denis stands and Miranda is ordered up. Saint-Denis lands a flurry and Miranda falls down but is able to survive the round. 10-8 Saint-Denis.

Figlak tries a takedown but Ziam sprawls and still lands. Figlak is on the mat and Ziam gets on top and lands some more before standing. Ziam gets back on top but ends up standing again. Ziam lands to start the third and both are landing as the pace has slowed a little. Figlak gets a brief takedown. They stand and both are looking for takedowns and Ziam is able to get a big slam takedown. Figlak is able to get to the top and gets the mount and is landing punches.
