TNT title match, new stipulation set for next AEW Dynamite

New matches and segments are set for the next AEW Dynamite.

The end of this week’s Collision saw Tommaso Ciampa defend the TNT title in a three-way against Roderick Strong and Claudio Castagnoli. After the match, Kyle Fletcher came out and issued a challenge for the next episode of Dynamite, saying if Ciampa wanted to be where the best wrestle, he’d have to go through him. The two agreed to the new title match.

Fletcher was influenced by Kazuchika Okada earlier in the show to go after the TNT title, saying that they could both be champions in the Don Callis Family.

The stipulation for the AEW Women’s Championship match was also set. As Kris Statlander was being interviewed in the ring, Thekla and the Sisters of Sin came out and attacked the champion, with Thekla whipping the back of Statlander with a strap. The Triangle of Madness then left the ring, but not before Statlander announced that her and Thekla’s match on Wednesday would be a strap match.

The Young Bucks advanced to the wild card match on Saturday, defeating the GOA. As a result of their win, they will now be part of the number one contendership match on Dynamite. They join The Rascalz and a wildcard team that has yet to be announced.

It was also announced that Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland will meet face-to-face following the events of Dynamite where Omega and Strickland exchanged words.

Current AEW Dynamite lineup | Ontario, California

  • The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Myron Reed) vs The Young Bucks vs. TBA wild card team

Tommaso Ciampa: ‘AEW was head and shoulders where I wanted to be’

When Tommaso Ciampa entered free agency, he knew that AEW was where he wanted to end up.

The 40-year-old Ciampa debuted for AEW last week and has already won his first title for the promotion, defeating Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship. His AEW deal came together “extremely fast” after departing WWE, but Ciampa told Bleacher Report that doing everything by the book was important to him. Once he was actually a free agent and contractually able to negotiate with other companies, Ciampa had his first conversations with AEW on the Tuesday before debuting on Dynamite.

“AEW was head and shoulders where I wanted to be,” he said. “I take everything pretty seriously when it comes to doing it by the book. And with my contract coming up the way it was, I was like, ‘Well, I can’t really have a conversation right now, so let me just wait this out.’

“I did put the statement out a week early because I wanted to, one, see what the response was online and in the industry, and two, I wanted people to go, ‘Oh, so that weird report that came out a month ago, there’s some truth to that.’ So that was definitely on purpose. When my wife and I had the conversation about what’s next, and obviously we’re done here with WWE and we’re going to move on and bet on ourselves and figure out this next chapter. A big conversation was AEW and how do I get there.”

Ciampa said he and his wife booked a family vacation to Blue Hill Ranch in Texas for the week his WWE contract was up. He knew AEW was in Texas that Wednesday and he would be able to drive to the show if he signed in time. If not, they could just continue to enjoy their vacation.

“We started to look at where they are after my contract is up and we saw Texas. Long story short, my wife for five years now has been eyeing up Blue Hill Ranch in Texas,” Ciampa said. “It’s like this giraffe safari where you get to have all these awesome animal experiences. And we just never had the time to come out there.

“So I was like, ‘Why don’t we just book a family vacation, and if things happen to work out and we can shock the world and show up two days later, we’re a two-hour drive away. And if it doesn’t work out, we still have this awesome family vacation.’

“And sure enough, it worked out fast. Tuesday I had a couple of quick conversations with QT Marshall and RD Evans, who used to work with me in ROH. We always had great chemistry and he’s a writer now. This thing worked out extremely fast. Faster than I would have ever guessed. I met Tony [Khan] for the first time Wednesday. His passion is contagious. His love for his roster, his fanbase, for AEW is just beaming off him. So we had a very quick conversation and it just felt really right.”

In AEW, Ciampa is determined to prove that he’s the best version of himself that he’s ever been. He has a TNT Championship defense coming up on Collision this Saturday in a three-way match against Claudio Castagnoli and Roderick Strong.

Wednesday Update

WWE

  • WWE uploaded the full seven-man ladder match from NXT last night where Joe Hendry was crowned the new NXT Champion.
  • Hendry appeared on Busted Open After Dark following his title win.
  • Leah Van Dale (former WWE wrestler Carmella) sent out a tweet showing interest in the vacant NXT general manager role.
  • Bayley showed support for the idea while responding to Van Dale’s tweet: “MELLA DA MANAGER!!!!!!!! GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!!!!!!!! @WWENXT @ShawnMichaels #bookme”
  • In an interview with GQ, CM Punk was asked about the remark Paul “Triple H” Levesque made in WWE: Unreal where Levesque said he knew Punk was ready to come back to WWE because he saw that Punk was a different person than he was before:
    • I haven’t the slightest. I really don’t. That’d be a question for him. I just think I watched guys like Bret and Shawn or Hogan and Warrior hold on to these grudges. And I think what it amounts to is just life is too short.
    • Triple H had a serious heart issue that he woke up in the hospital with one day. I thought about that a lot and how anything between us didn’t matter at all. And I’m super fortunate now that we can laugh about everything and I can just let a lot of stuff go, because everything to me, I looked at it like it’s a hot coal and I’m just holding on to it. And after a while, I’m just hurting myself.
  • United States Champion Carmelo Hayes told the Beyond The Bell Podcast that Punk is a dream opponent of his:
    • I definitely want to wrestle CM Punk. I had made a joke on Twitter, though. I was like, if we do it’s gotta be winner takes all.
    • Punk, he’s actually a guy, man, like, I’ve been watching him obviously since I was a kid, right? So I’ve looked up to CM Punk and he’s been a mentor to a lot of the younger guys backstage, despite what people want to say. He’s always been a mentor to a lot of us, and he’s always excited to see us have our first moments.
    • I remember when I won the title, he was in Gorilla with a tear in his eye. I couldn’t believe it, I’m like, ‘Bro, why do you care so much?’ But I think just him seeing other people have these accomplishments for their first time and remembering where he was when he had his first accomplishment, it’s just very cool that he’s like that, right?
    • But as far as getting in the ring with him, I’d probably run circles around him, honestly. I think CM Punk’s a great in-ring performer, but I don’t think he’s ready for what I got. Because, man, I’m just going right now, bro. Like, week to week to week with it.
    • I’m very much so looking forward to that match. And I challenge CM Punk to really bring the heat, man. And like I said, he’s on a roll too and he’s having a great title reign, but we can go title reign for title reign. And I don’t think he’s touching Melo.
  • Punk was a guest on The Jim Rome Show today from Super Bowl Radio Row.
  • PWinsider reports that Drew McIntyre was at WWE headquarters this week filming for future projects.
  • “Matchbox: The Movie,” which stars John Cena, is set to premiere on Apple TV on October 9. The film is described as an “action-packed, globetrotting adventure about a group of friends since childhood who have their lives upended when undercover CIA agent Sean (Cena), their long-absent former leader, returns to their small town and unwittingly gets them embroiled in a frantic international pursuit to save the world.”
  • Entertainment Tonight spoke with Cena about the movie.
  • K&C Masterpiece interviewed Big E at Super Bowl Radio Row.
  • A new episode of the Nikki & Brie Show premiered today with The Bella Twins discussing Brie’s WWE return.
  • Philadelphia Eagles star Cooper DeJean called Nikki Bella “a good friend” when asked about their dating rumors during an appearance on Up & Adams.
  • SHAK Wrestling has an interview with Paul Heyman.

Other Wrestling

  • Tommaso Ciampa spoke to Bleacher Report about how his AEW theme music came together:
    • Mikey Rukus [AEW’s music composer] is a collaborative genius. I’ve never had an experience working with a music artist like the one that me and Mikey had. This all came together in less than 48 hours. My contract expired at midnight the 26th. Me and Mikey are on the phone Tuesday [Jan. 27].
    • And luckily I’ve had some time, quite a bit of time, six to eight weeks at home to really deep dive and dig and prepare. And I had four songs ready. We had a 20-minute conversation and I got off the phone and I was like, ‘Man, we’re clicking. This dude gets it. He’s hearing me and he’s listening.’
    • And he got that rough draft to me so fast. I want to say that final take was take seven. For anyone who has never gone through the process, that’s insanely fast. You don’t get to that kind of finished quality product in seven takes.
    • When we finally got to that, I’m listening to it in my car and my seven-year-old daughter continues to ask, ‘Can you play it again?’ She was humming to it, and I was like, we’re onto something. Kudos to Mikey. He just crushed it on all elements.
  • Bleacher Report asked Ciampa who he’s been impressed by in AEW:
    • An insane amount. I’ve never shared a ring with Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, MJF, Cope, Christian. Even people I crossed paths with but never shared a ring with.
    • And then there are guys that I’ve done stuff with, but I’ve never had a program with. I’ve never had a singles match with Ricochet, which to me kind of sounds silly to say. That’s kind of the thing that has followed me for a lot of my career.
    • When I was in Ring of Honor, there was this laundry list of guys. I never got to wrestle Generico. I never got to wrestle Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe. There were just all these top guys I never had a singles match with, and in WWE, I felt similar. Me and AJ Styles worked on a couple of live events but never on television. Randy Orton, never had a match with him. Seth Rollins. There are just so many of them that I didn’t, so coming to AEW, that was actually a massive goal of mine, to not leave the checklist unchecked.
    • I just want to mix it up with all of these different people, and I think that’s what brings out the best in me. I have a real passion and drive for first-time matchups, specifically when they’re in front of big audiences. There’s no prior chemistry and no feeling-out process. I think that’s where the artform really is.
    • Anyone can go and rehearse matches and have seven matches together before they ever do it live, and that’s not the artform. There’s still a skill set needed for that. So when I started looking at the roster and making that list, it didn’t end. It kept going.
  • Mercedes Mone visited VIP spa House of the Sun in Los Angeles and noted that she feels “incredible” after having treatment done.
  • Willow Nightingale has been announced as a special guest for Denise Salcedo’s live show at the Hollywood Improv on March 14 during AEW Revolution weekend.
  • MLW will be holding a show at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois on November 7. Tickets go on sale next Monday (February 9) at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

AEW TNT Champion Tommaso Ciampa announced for indie appearance

New AEW signee Tommaso Ciampa is coming to the Chicago area next month for an indie appearance.

Indie promotion AAW has announced that Ciampa will be in the building for its 22nd Anniversary Event on Friday, March 20. It’s billed as a “special appearance,” with no further details having been announced about what Ciampa’s role will be.

Ciampa previously wrestled for AAW from 2014-2016. Based in Chicago, the promotion is among the top indies in the Midwest. The upcoming 22nd Anniversary Event — titled “Epic” — is being held at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois.

The start of 2026 saw Ciampa make a big career change as he opted not to renew his WWE contract when it expired. He officially departed WWE last week and immediately debuted for AEW, arriving on Dynamite before then winning the TNT Championship from Mark Briscoe on Collision a few days later.

Ciampa has no bad words to say about WWE or his time there, but he’s determined to maximize his potential as a wrestler and show that, right now, he is the best version of himself that he’s ever been. Making the decision to leave WWE and bet on himself was something that Ciampa had been considering long before making the final decision not to renew his contract.

“My interest in doing this has been for at least two or three years. For the last six months, I’ve had a foot out the door,” Ciampa recently told CBS Sports. “It was one of those things: do you bet on yourself, see this through and see if you were right, or do you stay put and take the safe bet?

“I have a seven-year-old. I want her to know that you get one life. You get one career, you get one chance at this. You don’t want to leave it with ‘What if?’ That was the final determining factor.”

When Ciampa announced his departure from WWE, he noted that he was taking bookings for appearances, signings, photo ops, seminars, movies, TV appearances, fitness collaborations, sponsorships, and more.

New AEW TNT Champion crowned on Collision

In his first-ever match on AEW, Tommaso Ciampa defeated Mark Briscoe to become the new TNT Champion.

Following his debut earlier this week on Dynamite, Ciampa found himself in a title match against Briscoe on the January 31st, 2026 edition of Collision. Both wrestlers took each other to their limits in a closely contested bout.

Despite hitting multiple Psycho Drillers on Briscoe, Ciampa was unable to keep him down for the three-count. However, in the end, Ciampa finished the match by hitting Briscoe with a running knee strike. Following the match, the new champion was showered with a “you deserve it” chant from the fans.

It was also noted by the announcers that Ciampa has now become the second-ever AEW wrestler, after Mercedes Mone, to win a title in their debut match. Soon after the match, former champion Kyle Fletcher also shared his intentions of going after Ciampa’s new gold.

Ciampa, 40, is a former WWE NXT Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a one-time WWE NXT Tag Team Champion. He has also competed across multiple other promotions and won titles, most notably the ROH World Television Championship.

AEW Collision live results: Tommaso Ciampa & The Rascalz debut, three title defenses

For the first time in a decade, Tommaso Ciampa will compete outside a WWE owned ring when he challenges TNT Champion Mark Briscoe in the headliner of tonight’s live AEW Collision from Arlington, Texas.

Ciampa made his surprise debut this past Wednesday to answer Briscoe’s open challenge — the first time they have shared a ring since 2013.

The Rascalz will also make their AEW in-ring debut as Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier take on CRU’s Lio Rush & Action Andretti.

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada will appear to defend the title against Adam Priest.

In the third title defense, AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) defend against the Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue).

The main card is rounded out by Darby Allin facing the returning Clark Connors.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 pm Eastern.

**********

The show opened with Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness running down the card before introducing the first match, Darby Allin vs. Clark Connors.

Darby Allin vs. Clark Connors

The match started with Connors crashing into Allin as Allin skateboarded down towards the ring. When Allin went to the top rope Connors swept his legs and sent Allin crashing back first onto the top turnbuckle and then to the floor. Connors sent Allin in to the guardrail and continued the beating when Allin slapped him in response. Connors hit a shoulder tackle that crushed Allin and trapped him against the ring apron.

Allin was covered in tape on his back, giving a target for Connors, who back dropped Allin on the guardrail and apron, targeting the back after Allin was suplexed into the ring steps a few weeks ago. Connors hit a German suplex on Allin in the ring for a 2-count. Connors hit another shoulder tackle on the Allin, who was on his knees, and sent him back towards the opposite corner.

Allin ended up on the apron, but Connors flew through the ropes with a spear, leaving both men on the apron. Connors pulled out the ring steps and looked to suplex Allin on them again, but Allin fought it off by raking the eyes of Connors and getting back into the ring. Connors sent Allin towards the stairs and Allin flipped over the steps to the other side, turned around and ran up the stairs to hit Connors, and got back into the ring and hit a tope suicida that sent Connors into the guardrail.

Connors blocked a superplex attempt and hit a sunset flip powerbomb followed by a spear for a 2-count. Allin fought out of a straight jacket and flipped Connors over into a Scorpion Death Drop. Allin went for the Coffin Drop, but Connors got the knees up. Connors went for another spear, but Allin dodged, swept the legs, and locked on the Scorpion Death Lock to make Clark Connors submit.

Result: Darby Allin defeats Clark Connors

This was an excellent opening match. Connors is great, and Allin remains fantastic.

–Darby Allin cut a promo about how he had defeated all the Death Riders, and now it was his time to go for the top title in AEW. As he was just about to call out MJF, Gabe Kidd ran into the ring from the crowd and started beating on Allin. Connors joined him in the beatdown, and they took Darby to the floor and placed the ring steps onto Allin’s midsection while Kidd stood on top of the stairs.

Kidd said that Allin wouldn’t be able to make it to the top of AEW if he was pushing up daisies, and that he was going to follow Allin all over the earth if he had to until he ended Allin’s career. I mean, threatening him with death and actually doing it would end Allin’s career, though it would present other problems for Kidd. Like a murder charge.

–A hype video aired for the Sisters of Sin vs. the Babes of Wrath, happening later tonight.

–Jet Speed were backstage with their new World Six-Man Championships, talking about how the Don Callis family were looking for gold, but they were not hard to find. They also said that Hangman Adam Page was no longer alone, and they would be watching his back as Hangman goes for the AEW World Championship.

Cru (Action Andretti & Lio Rush) (w/ Lacey Lane) vs. The Rascalz (Zachery Wentz & Dezmond Xavier) (w/ Myron Reed)

Xavier and Rush started the match, with Xavier grounding Rush a little bit, but the pace picked up very quickly, with Xavier hitting a dropkick off the ropes. Wentz tagged in and hit a bronco buster on Rush. Rush rolled over to Andretti when he hit the ropes and tagged him in, and Andretti came in with a clothesline that dropped Wentz and Cru had the advantage for the first time in the match.

Xavier missed a top con giro to the floor, but largely landed on his feet, and Wentz came flying in with a corkscrew plancha to the floor on Rush and Andretti. Rush dodged a double team attempt, leaving an opening for Andretti to spring board into a lariat on Xavier. Andretti hit a suplex on Xavier and got a 2-count. Cru hit a series of double team moves, ending with a spinning kick to the back of Xavier’s head from Rush for a 2-count.

There was a series of counters so fast that I couldn’t keep track of it, and Cru ended up hitting stereo handsprings and tope suicidas on everyone. Wentz saved Xavier from a double suplex and then superkicks started flying so much I thought it was a Young Bucks match, and Wentz did a handspring into flying knee on Rush. Wentz went for a moonsault and Xavier shoved him in mid air until he spun over and hit it on Andretti for the pinfall.

Result: The Rascalz defeated Cru

This was an excellent match, and also shows that Cru is rather under utilized in the tag division. I would love to see the Young Bucks mix it up with both of these teams.

–Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor were discussing their team again, saying that they both like to get hit and hit other people, and while Windsor had other tag partners, none of them were able to get to the titles. Hayter and Windsor said that they were going to have fun chasing the titles.

–Jon Moxley was backstage and he responded to Takeshita challenging him last week. He said that Takeshita was one of the few wrestlers in the world that he understands, because they both chased titles and competing against the best all around the world. Moxley said that he thought he was that kind of man, but Takeshita had some goons attack him last week, and Moxley made Mark Davis pay for it by hitting him in the face with a title. Moxley said that if the Callis Family was looking to start a gang war that it was something that the Death Riders did for fun. This promo was fantastic. Jon Moxley is, again, one of the best wrestlers in the world today for creating compelling matches.

Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm vs. Gino Medina & Lady Bird Monroe

Cassidy put his hands in his pockets and hit a dropkick on Medina. Lady Bird Monroe got in the ring and started arguing with Cassidy, so he did his slow kicks to her shins, then stood aside to let Storm dropkick her and Cassidy hit a tope suicida on Media. Storm hit a tornado DDT on Medina, the hip attack, and sent Medina into an Orange Punch for the pinfall from Cassidy.

Result: Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm defeated Gino Medina & Lady Bird Monroe

–Wheeler Yuta ran in to attack Cassidy as soon as the match ended, and Marina Shafir attacked Storm from behind after. Yuta grabbed a mic and said that he was going to interview Orange Cassidy while Shafir held him in a full nelson. Yuta said that Cassidy said a lot of lies about Yuta, and asked how he felt now that the Death Riders made him pay.

Cassidy said that he couldn’t hear Yuta through his garbage hair. Yuta grabbed a pair of scissors from ringside and looked to cut the hair of Cassidy, but Storm came in, suplexed Shafir, grabbed the scissors, and threatened to stab Yuta. Storm then grabbed a mic and said that they picked the wrong team to mess with, and that mixed tag hair vs. hair match was going to happen in Australia at AEW Grand Slam, and that Yuta or Shafir were going to lose their hair.

–The Grizzled Young Veterans were backstage with Eddie Kingston and Ortiz, and how they continued wanting to fight. Kingston said that they could end it, as they beat each other up, and that should be it. GYV said that Kingston didn’t understand them, and didn’t speak for them, and Kingston challenged them to a parking law brawl for next week. Bryan Keith and Big Bill flew in and attacked Kingston and Ortiz, and GYV paid them for their services. GYV then agreed to the parking lot brawl for next Saturday.

–A short hype video aired for Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mark Briscoe, highlighting clips from ROH when they were much younger.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship

Ciampa and Briscoe maintained a clear back and forth for the first few minutes of the match, exchanging holds until Briscoe hit a Redneck Kung Fu kick and a cannonball tope through the middle ropes. Briscoe and Ciampa exchanged chops, but Briscoe hit a dropkick and then hit a suplex for a 2-count. Briscoe’s advantage continued for a few minutes until Ciampa managed to hit the Psycho Drillerr on the apron, driving Briscoe head and back first onto it. That was brutal.

Ciampa hit 7 punches in the corner and did the “six-seven” meme to the delight of the crowd and a sigh from me. Briscoe fought out of a sleeper hold with a back suplex. Briscoe fired up with some chops hit a flying forearm on Ciampa. Briscoe hit a lariat in the corner and then another in the opposite corner before going for an exploder suplex.

Ciampa blocked the attempt but ate a kick from Briscoe that sent him to the floor. Briscoe hit a running dropkick and hit a blockbuster from the apron on Ciampa before the fans helped him stand back up. As they were coming back into the ring Ciampa hit a draping DDT on Briscoe for a 2-count. Briscoe blocked a Psycho Driller attempt off the top rope and hit a froggy bow for a 2-count. Ciampa blocked a top rope move of his own and hit the Psycho Driller off the top rope for a 2-count.

Both Ciampa and Briscoe exchanged attempts at Jay Drillers until Ciampa hit a running knee that sent Briscoe to the floor. The ring announcer let us know that there was only 5 minutes left in the match. Briscoe grabbed the time keeper’s table after fighting Ciampa off, but got cut off from Ciampa who put Briscoe on the table, hit a running knee, and posed on the table. Briscoe, however, came off the top rope with a froggy bow to the standing Ciampa that put them both through the table.

Briscoe and Ciampa got back in the ring and started exchanging attempts to finish the match, hitting kicks, etc. Just as they were getting to the last minute, Ciampa manged to counter of a Jay Driller and hit a running knee to knock Briscoe out and score the pinfall.

Result: Tommaso Ciampa defeated Mark Briscoe to win the TNT Championship

This was a fantastic title match, with Briscoe putting in his usual great performance, and Tommaso Ciampa having a fantastic debut. Ciampa winning here puts him over strong, and Briscoe can move onto new things, so it looks like we will not be getting that Fletcher and Briscoe rematch that Callis was teasing/pushing Fletcher into. Fletcher will need to face Ciampa instead.

–Just as I wrote my reaction above, Fletcher came onto the ramp and pointed at Ciampa, indicating that he was going to be wrestling him soon.

–Josh Alexander was cutting a promo while the Don Callis family beat up a bunch of people in the background, saying that Moxley should mind his own business when saying Takeshita is too good for the Don Callis family. Alexander said that announced that Mark Davis would be facing Hangman Adam Page before Australia, and Romero said that he had a ringside ticket to see Okada beat Adam Priest. Alexander looked around for Lance Archer, who ran in off screen to hit a crossbody on three of the poor geeks backstage before laughing and saying “Everybody dies” while almost giggling. That was great.

Adam Priest (w/ Tommy Billington) vs. Kazuchika Okada (w/ Rocky Romero) for the AEW International Championship

Rocky Romero joined the commentary desk and immediately accidentally called Priest “Adam Pierce” which is quite the funny mistake. Romero insisted that Priest was not on the same level as Okada and didn’t deserve Okada in a robe or to see the International title. Okada dominated the early part of the match, with Okada hitting a dropkick and selling like he hurt his knee. Romero ran down from the commentary desk on the ramp to attack Priest from behind as the referee was checking on Okada.

Okada hit a DDT on Priest on the floor as a fan held a “Okada Fears Takeshita” sign that the announcers noted. Okada taunted Priest with some face wash kicks before hitting a hard uppercut, but Priest fired back with his own. Priest hit a few forearms and a neckbreaker to drop Okada. Priest went for a figure four, but Okada fought out. Okada went for a dropkick, but Priest dodged and locked on a figure four in the middle of the ring.

Priest hit an upper cut, but Okada responded with a dropkick after hit hit the ropes. Okada went for the Rainmaker, but Priest countered into a backslide. Priest went for a cutter, but Okada dumped him onto the mat like a back suplex and then hit the Rainmaker for the win.

Result: Kazuchika Okada defeated Adam Priest

–The Rascalz were backstage with Lexy Nair, and they mentioned how they like parking lots. Eddie Kingston walked in and said that if Bill & Keith were going to get involved, Kingston was bringing in friends that had had history with the Grizzled Young Veterans. He then said he was going to the parking lot with the Rascalz to take some medicine, and they offered Lexy Nair some, but she said no.

–A hype video aired for the current AEW World Championship situation with Brody King challenging MJF in a Eliminator Match, while Omega, Hangman, and Andrade are all chasing MJF for AEW Revolution. Good recap video.

–Lexy Nair was with Tommaso Ciampa backstage, and he was with his wife and child. His daughter had the title on her shoulder, which was cute. Ciampa said that AEW had welcomed him like family, and that his daughter now has a new sister in the TNT title, and they were going to celebrate. Great promo.

The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs. The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship

Julia Hart immediately attacked Nightingale on the apron and all four women ended up on the floor fighting around ringside. Nightingale saved Cameron from a double suplex from the Sisters of Sin and sent Cameron into Blue and Hart before Cameron hit a sling blade on Blue. Nightingale got necked on the top rope letting Blue hit a tornado DDT on Nightingale.

Cameron hit a crossbody onto both Blue and Hart, rolled to the floor, but got shoved into the apron by Julia Hart. Hart and Blue hit a flapjack on Cameron for a 2-count. The Sisters of Sin then got the heat through the commercial break on Cameron. Hart locked on a tarantula on Cameron letting Blue hit a dropkick to the midsection of Cameron.

Cameron managed to hit a suplex on Blue and tagged out to Nightingale who came in and started hitting clotheslines on Hart. Nightingale dodged a corner charge from Blue, who crashed into her own partner. Nightingale then cartwheeled out of an attack by Blue and hit a pounce on her before hitting a spinebuster on Hart for a 2-count.

Hart hit some forearms on Nightingale and went for a hurricanrana, but Nightingale’s balance got thrown off and they both fell over. Nightingale covered for this transitioning into a Boston crab. Nightingale went for the powerbomb, but Hart hit an X-factor and the Sisters of Sin hit a front suplex and double superkick on Nightingale.

Nightingale fought off a double team move and tagged out to Cameron and then there was a series of miscommunications with Cameron and Blue, but they recovered and Cameron hit Blue with a DDT and eventually a Crucifix bomb. Cameron hit Sole food on Blue that sent her backwards into a page turner from Nightingale for the win.

Result: The Babes of Wrath defeated The Sisters of Sin to retain

–After the match Thekla ran down to attack, and Kris Statlander made the save. As Statlander cleared the ring, Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne ran in and attacked Statlander, laying her out, and working with the Triangle of Madness to beat down Nightingale and Cameron as well.

Final Thoughts

This was a good episode of AEW Collision, especially the Mark Briscoe and Tommaso Ciampa match. The rest of the show was not that important, but there was nothing bad on it, outside of a few awkward communication issues and botches in the main event. This was a good show overall. The Rascalz and Cru had a great match, as did Darby Allin and Clark Connors. So, three good matches across this two hour show. I give that a thumbs up.

Tommaso Ciampa on AEW match vs. Mark Briscoe: ‘I know we have chemistry’

Tommaso Ciampa spoke about his AEW in-ring debut match against Mark Briscoe during a recent interview with The Takedown on SI.com.

After the TNT Champion successfully retained his title against El Clon on Wednesday’s Dynamite, Briscoe put out an open challenge for someone to face him on Collision. The debuting Ciampa came out to answer the call.

“I love the Briscoes so much,” Ciampa said. “I have so much respect for them. Mark has always been, to me, the ultimate babyface. He’s impossible to dislike. His fire, his charisma… the second I saw him [Wednesday night on Dynamite] and locked eyes, it was just perfect.”

Saturday’s match will be the first time Briscoe and Ciampa have faced each other since 2013. Their full match from ROH Pursuit night two on November 16 that year was posted to ROH’s YouTube channel earlier this week.

Ciampa also said that he and Briscoe will “just figure it out” as they go on Saturday.

Ciampa continued:

“I think the finest product comes out when it’s organic, and Saturday night, man, it’s gonna be like we’ve touched for the first time ever. And I can’t wait to just figure it out as we go. He hits hard and he can take a licking and I think everyone knows what to expect. It’s gonna be smashmouth.”

“I’m excited ’cause I get to go do what I do with one of my buddies, who I haven’t even seen for over a decade. I know we have chemistry and I just can’t wait to get in there with him and test myself. All Elite Wrestling is where the best professional wrestlers in the world play. Let’s find out.”

For Briscoe, he’ll be looking to defend the TNT title for a fourth time since winning it from Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear. He’s already retained the belt in matches against Daniel Garcia, Hechicero, and El Clon.

Tommaso Ciampa: I have ‘not one bad word to say’ about WWE

Though he’s departed the company and found a new home in AEW, Tommaso Ciampa doesn’t have anything bad to say about WWE.

Ciampa was interviewed by CBS Sports following his AEW debut and opened up about his decision not to re-sign with WWE. There were conversations about a new deal, but Ciampa felt like he never got to truly maximize his potential as the “Psycho Killer” in WWE. He feels like, right now, he is the best version of himself that he’s ever been. Ciampa is determined to prove that in AEW.

“We chatted a handful of times in the last two or three months. I just needed to do what was right for my wife and me,” Ciampa said about his decision not to re-sign. “I have not one bad word to say about WWE. They gave me an incredible opportunity and platform. Over the last 10 years, I learned a ton. I evolved a ton. It’s time for me to take all that and really apply it. The biggest part was the leap.”

Ciampa noted that he’s been thinking about departing WWE for a while. Ultimately, the deciding factor was that he did not want to look back and regret his decision.

“My interest in doing this has been for at least two or three years. For the last six months, I’ve had a foot out the door,” Ciampa said.

In his first AEW match, Ciampa has the chance to capture championship gold. He’s challenging Mark Briscoe for the TNT title on Collision this Saturday night.

Tommaso Ciampa explains decision to leave WWE, sign with AEW

Tommaso Ciampa explained his decision to leave WWE and sign with AEW during a recent interview.

Ciampa announced on January 21 that he would be leaving WWE when his contract expired. He debuted on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday and was revealed as Mark Briscoe’s opponent for Saturday’s episode of Collision.

Speaking with Rich Ucchino of The Takedown on SI.com, Ciampa said he had been leaning toward leaving WWE for some time before ultimately making the decision when his contract came due earlier this month.

“It’s something I’ve been leaning towards for quite some time,” Ciampa said. “I don’t know that I can say there’s one sole factor that led to it or caused it.”

“If I wrestled in the 90s, I’d wanna be a part of ECW… Early 2000s, you wanna be a part of Ring of Honor. I was lucky I got to do that a little bit. 2010s, I think for me at least, I wanted to be part of NXT Black and Gold. And when I looked at the landscape of professional wrestling in the 2020s… the answer was AEW, man. That’s what I want to be a part of.”

Ciampa also said he was unable to fully bring his Psycho Killer persona to WWE’s main roster:

“There were a lot of times I tried… and for one reason or another [over the years in WWE], it just wasn’t something that I could do. But for Tony [Khan] and the whole crew to just collaborate the way they did and have open arms, and see the vision and just allow it to breathe and have a chance, I’m already thinking six months, 12 months ahead on the evolution of the Psycho Killer.”

He continued to say that he’s better now than he was when he was portraying the character he did in the NXT Black and Gold era.

Ciampa said:

“For a long time, I had to listen to people tell me, not so much directly to my face but more so online, that 2018 was prime Ciampa. I’m a hundred times better now than I was then. That was nothing. That was absolutely nothing.”

“I finally have a shot to find out if I’m as good as I think I am,” he continued.

Ciampa also discusses his upcoming match with Mark Briscoe during the interview. It is available in its entirety on SI.com here.

Tommaso Ciampa cuts first AEW promo: ‘The Psycho Killer is alive’

Backstage after making his AEW debut, Tommaso Ciampa cut his first promo since signing with the promotion.

Ciampa arrived in AEW by confronting TNT Champion Mark Briscoe on Dynamite last night. He answered Briscoe’s open challenge for a title match that will happen on Collision this Saturday. Ciampa addressed the bout in a brief post-show promo, vowing to become the new TNT Champion.

“Tonight, Tommaso Ciampa became All Elite,” he said. “On Collision, I become the new TNT Champion. The Psycho Killer is alive.”

It didn’t take long for Ciampa to join the AEW roster after departing WWE. Around the start of 2026, it was revealed that Ciampa was opting to leave WWE when his contract with the promotion expired. His profile was move to the alumni page of WWE.com on Tuesday — with that being the same day Ciampa released new merchandise on his Pro Wrestling Tees store.

“Psycho Killer” is a nickname that Ciampa has used dating back to before he was in WWE. He filed trademarks for the terms “Psycho Killer” and “Psycho King” on January 21.

Ciampa — a former NXT Champion — was on the SmackDown roster prior to his WWE departure. He held the WWE Tag Team titles twice with DIY partner Johnny Gargano, who is still with the company.

Briscoe has been TNT Champion since November and is coming off a successful title defense against El Clon on Dynamite last night.

Tommaso Ciampa debuts on AEW Dynamite, officially under contract

Weeks after wrapping up with WWE, Tommaso Ciampa made his AEW debut on Wednesday’s Dynamite and already has a title match set to go with a new contract.

After Mark Briscoe successfully defended his TNT title against the previously undefeated El Clon, Briscoe took the microphone and issued an open challenge for this Saturday’s Collision.

Out came the 40-year-old, fully dressed in his gear, to answer the challenge. Ciampa didn’t speak on the microphone but went face-to-face with Briscoe before kissing him on the cheek and departing. Moments later, the match was made official.

Nearly an hour after his debut, AEW head Tony Khan made it official that the veteran is #AllElite.

Ciampa confirmed his exit from WWE last Wednesday after his contract expired and he didn’t re-sign, saying he was excited for what’s next and that he was accepting bookings. In last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that there is talk he may wrestle for NJPW.

He was in WWE for two runs, the latest lasting ten years. He’s a former two-time NXT Champion and both a former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion and former NXT Tag Team Champion, both with Johnny Gargano.

Of note, he spent four year in Ring of Honor from 2011 through 2015, holding the ROH TV title.

Tommaso Ciampa releases new merchandise following WWE exit

Update —

Tommaso Ciampa’s profile has now been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website, further confirming that he is no longer under contract.

**********

As he enters post-WWE life, Tommaso Ciampa has released some new merchandise items on his Pro Wrestling Tees store.

Five T-shirt designs and a hoodie have been added to the store. They utilize the terms “Psycho Killer” and “Psycho Kid” as nicknames Ciampa could be using following his WWE exit. The “Psycho Killer” moniker is one that has been associated with Ciampa for a while, and he filed a trademark for that term — along with a trademark for “Psycho King” — on January 21.

News first broke around the start of 2026 that Ciampa would be leaving WWE when his contract expired. He confirmed that decision last week, posting a statement where he thanked everyone in the company. The 40-year-old Ciampa said he feels like he has another decade left in his career, and he’s accepting bookings for appearances, signings, photo ops, seminars, movies, TV appearances, fitness collaborations, sponsorships, and more.

It remains to be seen where Ciampa will wrestle next, but our Dave Meltzer reports that there’s been talk regarding a potential NJPW debut.

“There is talk of him trying to get into New Japan,” Meltzer wrote. “He’d fit in style wise with AEW but AEW has such a large roster filled with top talent so it’s a tough place to break through. The fact he’s pushing indie bookings would seem to indicate he didn’t leave for AEW and a deal there, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see such a deal happen given Tony Khan signing so many people and he’s a strong in-ring wrestler.”

Ciampa is a former NXT Champion for WWE and had been featured on the SmackDown roster prior to departing the company.

Tommaso Ciampa update following WWE departure

An update is available regarding what could be next for two-time NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.

Ciampa recently confirmed that his WWE contract is set to expire soon and he will not be re-signing with the company, making him a free agent for the first time in a decade.

Dave Meltzer addressed Ciampa in Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that there is talk of him possibly going to NJPW.

Meltzer wrote:

Ciampa has filed for two trademarks potentially linked to his post-WWE career. He has filed to trademark “Psycho Killer” and “Psycho King” for wrestling purposes, the former a reference to the Talking Heads song he often used for his ring entrance before joining WWE.

Ciampa confirmed his WWE departure in a statement released on January 3.

“I spent the first decade of my career traveling the world on the independent scene. I spent the second decade of my career traveling the world with WWE,” he wrote. “I have one decade remaining and I’m beyond excited for whatever challenges lie ahead.”
