Ash by Elegance to make in-ring debut at TNA TV taping

The former Dana Brooke is making her TNA Wrestling in-ring debut this weekend.

TNA has announced that Ash by Elegance will be in action at the promotion’s television tapings in Orlando, Florida this Saturday (January 20). It’s the second night of a two-night TNA taping at Osceola Heritage Park in Orlando.

Brooke’s opponent for the match has not been announced.

At Hard to Kill last Saturday, Brooke made a surprise appearance and was shown watching the Knockouts Championship match between Trinity and Jordynne Grace. Grace defeated Trinity to win the title.

It was officially confirmed on Wednesday that Brooke has signed a TNA contract.

Brooke was a guest on Busted Open Radio this week and explained her new Ash by Elegance character:

So Ash by Elegance is a different side of me, but I try and live my life every single day as being super elegant. Elegant is a word — but I feel like it has a variety and many multiple meanings of it. It’s classiness, it’s elegance, it’s beautiful, it just means so much that I’m definitely going to bring that element into the ring and show everyone what class and elegance truly means.

Brooke was released by WWE in September 2023 during a round of roster cuts. Saturday will be the first non-WWE match of her career.

Alberto Del Rio at Impact Wrestling tapings

The new regime of Impact Wrestling debuts at tonight’s tapings with a ton of new faces expected as well as old faces being gone.

Besides the names already written about, Alberto El Patron, Garza Jr., Rachael Ellering, Kongo Kong, and Laredo Kid are coming in along with the likes of Konnan, Matt Morgan, Bruce Prichard, and perhaps Karen Jarrett.

Brooke Adams will not be appearing for any of the tapings. Cody appears only tonight.

It also appears Jeremy Borash will be the new lead announcer for TNA.

At the tapings for next Thursday’s show, they show an angle with Borash confronting Josh Mathews, basically saying that everyone hates Mathews, that he disrespects fans, legends, and the new management wants a change.

As noted, the new storyline is that the people who were running TNA the last few years were idiots and Borash said that Mike Tenay had been training him to be the new lead announcer, but then the stupid former owners of the company jumped on a guy who was just fired by WWE and he was put in the spot.

The belief is that the stupid former owners will be a theme of the shows as they start the new regime.

Mathews then claimed that he was taught by Jim Ross and he has announced at WrestleMania.

The transition will not happen overnight as the two are set to feud first.

TNA Impact TV taping results: Josh Barnett vs. Bobby Lashley

Notes from tonight’s Impact tapings which were built around Braxton Sutter not marrying Laurel Van Ness, and Bobby Lashley vs. Josh Barnett for the TNA title.

– DCC came out and issued a challenge to Decay for a falls count anywhere match. DCC won the match when Bram gave Crazzy Steve a piledriver through a table.

– Bobby Lashley came out for an interview and said he was the baddest man on the planet. I thought that was Joe Warren. Lashley said that nobody in pro wrestling or MMA could beat him. This led to Josh Barnett coming out. Barnett challenged Lashley for the title. Lashley accepted.

– Moose defeated Drew Galloway via split decision to regain the Grand Championship.

– Eddie Edwards challenged Davey Richards to a match. Angelina Love came out. She said that you can’t get what you want and you won’t get a match with Richards until she okays it.. She said that Eddie wasn’t Davey’s real friend. Richards eventually came out and they had a brawl which led to a challenge for a street fight match.

– Josh Barnett defeated Bad Bones John Klinger with a Kimura submission.

– Rosemary defeated Jade in a Last Knockout standing match to retain her title.

– James Storm defeated Jessie Godderz when both Bram and Eddie Kingston interfered.

– Richards defeated Edwards in the street fight.

– Josh Barnett first seemed to beat Lashley to win the title but there were some issues and the match was restarted. Before the restart, Lashley protested and it was shown on tape that he got his shoulders up before three so Earl Hebner came out and started it over.

Lashley then defeated Barnett to retain the title. When Lashley pinned Barnett, Barnett also got his shoulder up, but it was counted, so that seems to leave things open for a rematch.

– Next was the wedding. As one would expect, right when they asked Sutter if he takes Van Ness to be his wife, he said that he didn’t, and that he was in love with Allie but said that he never could date Allie because Maria told him that she’d fire Allie if he dated her. Maria then fired Allie but Allie then said she quit.

It ended with a big brawl with Sutter and Allie together.
