Six-man tag team match official for AEW Dynasty

A six-man tag team match has been added to AEW’s next pay-per-view.

Adam Copeland will team with Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe to take on The House of Black. Copeland had retained the TNT Championship against Matt Cardona on Collision when the lights went out. Malakai Black appeared when they came back on, which led to Buddy Matthews attacking Copeland from behind. Briscoe and Kingston came out for the save. The match was then announced for April 21 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Briscoe has been feuding with The House of Black in recent weeks. He came out during their match against The Infantry in an AEW Tag Team title tournament match. His distraction allowed The Infantry to score an upset win over The House of Black, eliminating them from the tournament.

Here is the updated lineup for Dynasty:

  • AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe defends against Swerve Strickland
  • TBS Championship: Julia Hart defends against Willow Nightingale
  • Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson
  • Tournament final to determine new AEW World Tag Team Champions
  • The House of Black vs. Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe

Trios title match announced for next week’s AEW Collision

A Trios title match is set for next Saturday’s AEW Collision.

The Acclaimed, along with Daddy Ass (Billy Gunn), will challenge The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) for the Trios titles. On this week’s Collision, Max Caster announced that the team will get a championship match due to their recent success in the division.

At AEW Double or Nothing back in May, The House of Black defeated The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass to retain the titles. In the weeks since, The Acclaimed have won three trios matches, most recently defeating The Blade & The Bollywood Boyz on the July 5 edition of AEW Dynamite.

The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass will also be in action on next Friday’s Rampage. They will face members of QTV after Johnny TV called them out on this week’s edition of the show.

Here is the current card for next week’s Collision:

  • AEW Trios Championship: The House of Black defend against The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass

World Trios Championship match added to AEW Revolution

A new World Trios Championship match has been added to Revolution.

On Friday’s Rampage, it was announced that The Elite will take on The House of Black in a match for the titles on March 5 in San Francisco. Earlier in the show, The Young Bucks were wrestling Aussie Open when the lights momentarily went out. After The Young Bucks won the match, the lights went out again, this time with The House of Black appearing on the apron when the lights came back up. But just as quickly as they appeared, they then disappeared.

The House of Black have been targeting The Elite in recent weeks. On last week’s Rampage, The Elite defeated AR Fox and Top Flight to retain the Trios titles. After the match, The House of Black appeared on the stage, then left, similar to what they did on this week’s show.

Here is the updated lineup for next Sunday’s Revolution card in San Jose:

AEW Revolution, Sunday, March 5 —

  • 60-minute iron man match for the AEW World Championship: MJF (c) vs. Bryan Danielson
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Ruby Soho vs. Saraya
  • TNT Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Wardlow
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Gunns (c) vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs. TBD

The House of Black return to AEW on Dynamite

The House of Black has officially returned to AEW.

After Orange Cassidy defeated Jake Hager to retain the All-Atlantic Championship on Wednesday’s Dynamite, QT Marshall and The Factory came out for a promo. But before anything was said, the lights went out. After Julia Hart appeared on the stage, Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews emerged and attacked Best Friends from behind. As The Factory celebrated the attack, The House of Black then turned their attention to them, laying them out as well as a security guard on stage.

In recent weeks, vignettes have been airing on AEW television promoting the return of the stable. Black was last seen at All Out back in September, teaming with King and Matthews in a losing effort against Miro, Darby Allin, and Sting. Although at one point he said he had requested his release from AEW, Black later released a statement saying he was taking time off and would be returning to AEW in the near future.

Matthews and King remained on television through AEW Rampage Grand Slam, where they lost a match against Allin and Sting.

House of Black teaser with Malakai Black airs on AEW Dynamite

Malakai Black and The House of Black seem to be making a return to AEW soon.

On Wednesday’s Dynamite, a vignette aired showing Julia Hart seemingly burying members of the House of Black, including Brody King, Black, and Buddy Matthews. At one point, Black could be heard saying “forgive me not father, see me now, mother”.

The House of Black last competed at All Out, losing to Darby Allin, Sting, and Miro. The group hugged after the match had ended, opening up questions regarding their future as a group.

Black in September went on Instagram to deny reports about being granted a release from AEW, pointing to an earlier statement indicating he had put the word “release” in quotation marks.

“I will see you guys in a couple of weeks, maybe a couple of months,” he said. “Like I said, I’m only taking some time off…there’s nothing going on. I’m fine. I’m going to be fine. Everything’s fine. You’ll see me right back in AEW pretty soon. I’m just going to take some time, that’s it.”

King and Matthews last wrestled at AEW Grand Slam Rampage, where they lost to Darby Allin and Sting in a no disqualification match.
