Lio Rush off Terminus show due to injury

Due to injury, Lio Rush has been pulled from this week’s Terminus show.

Terminus announced today that, due to injury, Rush will no longer be facing Shane Strickland at their event in Atlanta this Thursday (February 24). Davey Richards will instead face Strickland at the show.

The Strickland vs. Rush match had been announced for Terminus this past Saturday.

Rush was injured while competing in PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles last month. After suffering the injury, Rush wrote on social media that he had a clean dislocation in his left shoulder. Rush noted that he would be undergoing an MRI in two to three weeks to make sure there was no ligament damage.

Rush also stated that there had been hate speech and racial slurs used against him and objects thrown at him by some fans in attendance at PWG.

“To all my fans and supporters, thank you for the outpouring love and support. Saddened by the hate speech, racial slurs, and throwing of objects in the ring by ‘fans’ who attended Night 2 of BOLA, but nothing will diminish my love for this sport and stop me from performing for those who appreciate my craft. I will be back. See you soon,” Rush wrote.

Rush officially became a free agent on February 14 after announcing in January that he would be departing AEW when his contract expired.

Rush will be making his return to MLW at their Kings of Colosseum tapings this May.

Terminus, which was founded by Jonathan Gresham and Baron Black, debuted with its first show being held last month. Thursday’s event will stream live on Fite TV and will be headlined by Gresham defending his ROH World Championship against AEW star Santana.

AEW’S Serena Deeb set for Terminus 2

Terminus has made another talent announcement for their Thursday, February 24 event in Atlanta.

AEW star Serena Deeb has officially been added to the lineup for Terminus 2.

The Jonathan Gresham-owned promotion will run their second event next month with a talent lineup that includes Deeb, Queen Aminata, Leon Ruffin, Kevin Blackwood, Lio Rush, Shane “Swerve” Strickland (Sw3rve The Realest), AEW’s Santana, and Gresham, the Ring of Honor World Champion. No matches have been made official for the show.

Deeb is coming off two consecutive AEW victories, with wins over Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue on Dynamite this month. Prior to defeating Shida, Deeb had lost two in a row to her, including a TBS Championship tournament match in October 2021.

Gresham defeated Josh Alexander in the main event of the first Terminus event on January 16, retaining the ROH title. The Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship was also defended on that show, with Jordynne Grace defeating Kiera Hogan.

Lio Rush announced for February Terminus event

A day after he made news with his AEW contract status, Lio Rush was announced for the second Terminus event, set for February 24th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rush tweeted Saturday that as of February 14th, his AEW contract will expire and he will become a free agent just six months after the company got him to return after an announced retirement.

The new promotion, co-founded by reigning Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham and Baron Black, had its first event last weekend featuring Gresham, Bandido, Josh Alexander, Black and others.

They have already begun loading up for their second pay-per-view, announcing former WWE NXT North American Champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and a main event of Gresham defending the ROH title against AEW tag team standout Santana.

Rush returns to the ring Sunday night at The Wrld on GCW as part of a ladder match featuring PCO, Tony Deppen, Jordan Oliver, Jimmy Lloyd and Alex Colon. He also remains part of the New Japan Strong roster.

Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland announced for Terminus

The former Isaiah “Swerve” Scott is headed to Terminus.

Terminus has announced that Shane Strickland will be in action at their show in Atlanta on Thursday, February 24. The show will be the second-ever Terminus event.

Less than a month after making his main roster debut, Strickland was released by WWE on November 18. His Hit Row stablemates Top Dolla and Ashante “Thee” Adonis were also part of that round of roster cuts. Hit Row’s B-Fab was released on November 4.

Strickland is a former NXT North American Champion.

Terminus, which is a new promotion from Jonathan Gresham and Baron Black, debuted with their first event airing live on Fite TV this past Sunday.

Gresham will defend his ROH World title against AEW’s Santana at the February 24 Terminus show.

It’s also been announced that The Wrestling Revolver will host a “Swerve’s House” event with Strickland in action on Saturday, April 16. That show is taking place at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa.

AEW’s Santana to challenge for ROH World title at Terminus

A member of the AEW roster is set to challenge for Jonathan Gresham’s ROH World Championship at Terminus.

Gresham and Baron Black’s new Terminus promotion has announced that its second event will be held in Atlanta on Thursday, February 24. AEW’s Santana will challenge for Gresham’s version of the ROH World title at the show.

The match was set up by a challenge that Santana issued to Gresham at Terminus’ debut event on Sunday.

Gresham and Bandido are each staking a claim to being the true ROH World Champion. Bandido was supposed to defend the title against Gresham at Final Battle last month, but the match didn’t happen due to Bandido testing positive for COVID-19. Gresham instead defeated Jay Lethal to win the original ROH World Championship belt.

In the main event of Terminus’ first show, Gresham put his title on the line against Josh Alexander. The match ended in a draw when there was a double pin.

Bandido, who retained his version of the ROH World title against Black earlier in the night, then made his way out to confront Gresham. The two were about to shake hands, but Santana’s music hit and he made his way down to the ring.

Santana spoke about challenging himself this year and proposed an ROH World title match against Gresham for February 24. Gresham accepted Santana’s challenge and also told Bandido that the time for them to face off will come.

Before the next Terminus show, Gresham will defend his ROH World title against Blake Christian at Game Changer Wrestling’s The Wrld on GCW. That show is taking place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this Sunday (January 23).

Terminus’ first show aired live on Fite TV. Lenny Leonard and Dave Prazak were the commentary team.

Terminus announces match rules ahead of debut show

Ahead of their first show, Terminus has revealed the set of rules that matches in the promotion will be conducted under.

Terminus is a new promotion from Jonathan Gresham and Baron Black. It will debut with an event taking place at the Kroc Center in Atlanta this Sunday.

Matches in Terminus can be won by pinfall, submission, knockout, or disqualification (unless a substitute stipulation is agree upon by the wrestlers in the match). There will also be five second countouts.

Time limits will be strictly enforced, with all matches except championship bouts having a 15-minute time limit. Championship matches will have a 20-minute time limit.

If a match reaches the time limit, there will then be a 90-second overtime period. Wrestlers have to start the overtime period in a neutral position. If there’s no winner after those 90 seconds, the match ends in a draw.

Disqualifications can be caused by foreign object use, outside interference, or if a wrestler commits two technical fouls. It’s also stated that any weapon usage will result in expulsion from Terminus.

Technical fouls will be given at the referee’s discretion. The following actions are considered technical fouls:

  • Throwing an opponent over the top rope
  • 10-second top rope count
  • Five count rope/corner break
  • Intentional physical contact with a referee
  • Intentional low blow
  • Intentional eye gouge

Mike Bennett is replacing Coughlin at the show and will be Moose’s new opponent.

Bennett, Maria Kanellis-Bennett, Matt Taven, Vincent Marseglia, and PCO were involved in an ROH invasion angle at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view this past Saturday.

Jonathan Gresham will put his ROH World Championship on the line at the debut show for his Terminus promotion.

Terminus has announced that Gresham will defend his ROH World Championship against Josh Alexander in a Pure Rules match at their debut show on Sunday, January 16. The event is taking place at the Kroc Center in Atlanta.

With Gresham and Bandido each staking a claim to being the true ROH World Champion, this is the second ROH World title match that’s set for Terminus. Bandido will defend his version of the title against Baron Black at the January 16 show.

Gresham was scheduled to challenge Bandido for the ROH World Championship at Final Battle earlier this month, but Bandido had to be pulled from the show due to testing positive for COVID-19. Gresham instead defeated Jay Lethal in an ROH World Championship match in the main event of the pay-per-view. Gresham was awarded the original ROH World title belt.

ROH is currently on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022.

Before the Terminus event, Gresham will defend his ROH World title against Chris Sabin at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill PPV on Saturday, January 8. He’s also set to defend the title against Blake Christian at The Wrld on GCW on Sunday, January 23.

Bandido to defend his version of ROH World title at Terminus

Jonathan Gresham and Bandido appear to each be staking a claim to being the true ROH World Champion.

It was announced on Friday that Bandido will defend his version of the ROH World Championship against Baron Black at Terminus’ debut show on Sunday, January 16. Terminus is Gresham and Black’s promotion. Its theme is “Modern Age Grappling.”

Gresham was supposed to challenge Bandido for the ROH World title in the main event of ROH’s “End of an Era” Final Battle pay-per-view earlier this month. But with Bandido having to be pulled from the show due to testing positive for COVID-19, Gresham instead faced Jay Lethal in a match for the original ROH World title belt. Gresham defeated Lethal to become champion.

Gresham’s first defense of his title belt took place in GCW last Friday. He retained against AJ Gray in a Pure Rules match. Gresham will put his title on the line against Chris Sabin at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on Saturday, January 8. Gresham is also set to defend his title against Blake Christian at The Wrld on GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Sunday, January 23.

After Bandido posted a picture with his ROH World Championship yesterday, Gresham responded by tweeting a picture with his own title belt. Gresham called himself the “ROH World Pure Champion” and said he’d see Bandido at Terminus.

ROH will be on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022 to “reimagine” the promotion.

Terminus’ debut show is being held at the Kroc Center in Atlanta. Gresham will be in action at the event, but his match has yet to be announced. Here’s the updated card:

  • ROH World Champion Bandido defends against Baron Black
  • Jay Lethal vs. Lee Moriarty
  • Impact Digital Media Champion Jordynne Grace defends against Kiera Hogan
