Inaugural Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo will put her title on the line as part of next month’s ROH Supercard of Honor event.

Purrazzo will be looking for her fourth successful title defense of the title she first won at December 2025’s Final Battle by defeating MIT member Billie Starkz. While they have squared off in recent tag matches, this will be their first-ever singles bout. Diamante is looking for her first title anywhere since 2022.

Roppongi Vice is back together as Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta wrestle TMDK.

Matches for this week’s episode were taped across multiple ROH TV tapings held at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern.

***************************

And here we go! New time slot, new studio, same great Ring of Honor taste that you’ve come to know and love.

And it started off with Eddie Kingston and Ortiz being interviewed. Ortiz said they want to mix it up with youn talent, just as the young talent known as Busta and The Brain wandered by. So they all agreed to fight.

RPG VICE (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta) vs TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste)

Apparently this is the first time TMDK and RPG VICE have crossed paths, which makes sense since neither team uses the others letters.

Haste and Romero started things off with some locking up and trash talking. Haste seemed to really enjoy making fun of Romero’s height, which earned him a knee to the gut. Haste responded with a shoulder tackle and Romero went to escape by tagging in Beretta, but Beretta made him “tag him in proper.”

Nichols tagged in and the two double teamed Beretta with some stereo sentons. Nichols got Beretta up in a staaaaaaaallllling suplex, but Romero broke up the cover after the fact. Romero sent Haste to the outisde and hit a running knee off the aprion while Nichols started chopping Beretta in the ring.

Beretta countered with some chops of his own before tagging in Romero, isolating Nichols in their corner. Nichols bailed from the ring and Beretta sent him into the barricade. The ref tried to get Haste to tag in (I guess he didn’t realize Nichols was legal) while Romero took a turn sending Nichols into the barricade.

Nichols fought back, sending Romero into the barricade before getting back into the ring. Beretta and Romero double teamed him, preventing him from tagging in Haste. Romero threw some one-, two- and three-ever lariats, but Nichols countered the last one and sent him reeling.

Nichols finally got the tag and Haste came into take out Beretta and Romero, stacking them in the corner for a cannonball. Beretta came back with a Mongolian thrust and went for a DDT, but Haste countered it into a tossing Falcon Arrow.

Hast hoisted Beretta up, but Beretta raked his eyes and drove him to the canvas. Romero tagged in and threw hands at Haste, but that got him close enough for a lariat and a two count.

TMDK double teamed Romero and Beretta , but Beretta came back with a superkick. Nichols dropped him with a blue thunder bomb, but of course that didn’t lead to a pin. That would be silly.

Beretta took on both members of TDMK, but Romero broke up the double team slam attempt. Nichols came back with some chops on them both, but RPG landed their finisher on him and got the pin and the victory.

Match Result: RPG VICE defeated TMDK

Lio Rush vs Nathan Cruz

Rush arrived with a new, dark and weird intro that caused my 8-year old to exclaim “why’s he so creepy?” Good question, Lio. What gives?

The Code of Honor was adhered to and Rush immediately dropped to his knees and crawled around the ring like a goth Mr. Iguana.

They locked up and Cruz drove Rush to the mat, but Rush bridged out of a pin attempt. Rush used his speed to run circles around Cruz before slapping on a sleeper hold. Cruz backed him into the corner to break it, but Rush dragged him back down to the mat, presumeably whispering “we all float down here.”

Rush then staked Cruz, backing him into the corner. Cruz turned it around, kicking Rush in the gut until he rolled out of the ring, giggling. Cruz followed and tossed Rush against the barricades before sending him back into the ring. Cruz wrapped Rush in the ropes and punched him in the gut.

Cruz hoisted Rush up, but Rush countered and sent him out of the ring with a modified rolling heel. He then scampered around the ring like an animal before diving through the ropes onto Cruz.

Back in the ring, Rush hit a screaming Thez press for a two count. Cruz came back with a sit out slam and called Rush a “filthy little baby.” Rush responded with a cutter then went up top for a frog splash fro halfway across the ring. He made the pin and that was it.

Match Result: Lio Rush defeated Nathan Cruz

After the match, Rush crawled around the ring like an animal giggling which was in no way unsettling.

-Backstage, ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo was interviewed. Purrazzo addressed Diamante, saying if she wanted a shot at the title, all she had to do was ask. Purrazzo intends to walk into Supercard of Honor as champion and said that if she doesn’t get her respect, she will beat it into Diamante. Then the match was made official for Supercard of Honor, Diamante vs Purrazzo for the ROH Women’s Pure Title.

Pure Rules Match: Josh Woods vs Matt Menard

They started off with a tie up, with Menard clearly trying to work a plan. He forced Woods to the ropes then slapped a hold on him while he was touching them, costing him Woods arope break just 0:37 into the match. Menard then did it again, forcing Woods to the ropes and using a break at 1:15.

Menard then put Woods in a Boston Crab right next to the roipes and Woods used his final break at 2:15. That seemed to make him really mad, so he put Menard in an octopus hold, wrenched down and Menard gave up, giving Woods the win.

Match Result: Josh Woods defeated Matt Menard

Komander vs Soleil

Soleil FKA Sidney Akeem FKA Reggie has had some success in this new Lucha persona, but Komander is a former ROH TV Champion, so he’d have his hands full in this match.

Off of a lock up, Komander sent Soleil down with a shoulder block, but he popped back up in a superhero pose. They ran the ropes dodging and weaving until Komander swept the leg for a two count. Soleil rolled out of it and the reset, showing respect.

Soleil hit a pop up kick and then a twisting high crossbody to sent Komander staggering. He charged, but Komander moved and Soleil got him with a kick. He went up top and flew off the turnbuckle with a crossbody for a two count.

Soleil started chopping Komander in the corner, adding in a kick or two for good measure. Soleil hit a skywalker mule kick for a two count, but Komander wasn’t done. Soleil tried to wear Komander down with a chin lock, but Komander got back to his feet and they traded kicks.

Komander hit a shoulder tackle followed by a springboard dropkick. He planted Soleil with a DDT, but could only get a two count. Komander went up top, but Soleil rolled out of the way of the frog splash and countered with a pumphandle shock effect.

Soleil went for another crossbody, but Komander countred with an around the world stretch. Soleil got out of it and came back with a rolling Spicolli driver followed by a meteora. Komander dodged a double stomp and chopped Soleil to his knees.

Soleil got back up and ran the ropes, right into a spinning kick from Komander. Komander landed a poisonrana, but Soleil kicked out at two. Soleil came back with a Mexican destroyer and tried a handspring, but Komander caught him and drove him to the mat for his ropewalk crossbody and then made the pin to get the victory.

Match Result: Komander defeated Soleil

Eight Man Tag Team Match: Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin & Juice Robinson) & The Von Erichs (Marshall von Erich & Ross von Erich) vs Shane Taylor Promotions (Carlie Bravo, Lee Moriarty, Shane Taylor & Shawn Dean) (w/Christyan XO & Trish Adora)

The Von Erichs haven’t lost a match in 2026 and their partners in the Bang Bang Gang are doing pretty well in their own right. They will be facing the Champions of STP, with Moriarty being the ROH Pure Champion and Taylor and the Infantry holding the ROH Six-Man belts.

Moriarty and Austin started things off with a technical exchange, ending with Moriarty getting his knee into Austin’s neck. Austin came back with an inside arm drag and shoulder tackle. Moriarty tripped him up though and tried to steal one with a rollup. Austin broke free and found himself in an octopus stretch. He pried himself out and counterd with a koji clutch. Moriarty found the ropes to break it up though.

Bravo and Ross tagged in and Bravo mocked the Von Erich family claw. That fired Ross up and he hit a float over fisherman suplex. Marshall grabbed a blind tag and cut off Dean who had come in to help. They double teamed the Infantry, dispatching Dean and working the arm of Bravo.

Robinson tagged in which gave STP a chance to reset and send in Taylor. They locked up and Taylor drove Robinson to the corner for some strikes. Robinson threw some jabs of his own, but missed with a left hand allowing Taylor to land an elbow.

Taylor picked up Robinson and dropped him onto the top turnbuckle face first. He then shoved him into the second rope turnbuckle and unloaded some punches on him. Taylor made a tag and all three members of STP came in to take out their opponents.

In the ring, Bravo danced while Robinson clutched his gut. Everyone returned to their corners and the Infantry double teamed Robinson. Bravo hit a running kick for a one-count and then stomped Robinson’s hands and knees while yelling out towns in Florida.

Bravo tagged in Dean who dropped a leg from the top rope followed by an elbow drop, a clear homage to the Mega Powers. Dean tagged in Taylor who threw forearms at Robinson. Robinson tried to come back, but a headbutt, side slam and splash put an end to it.

Bravo hit a Carlie Crossover on Robinson and then crushed him with a BBC. Taylor tagged back in and scoop slammed Robinson, but Robinson moved out of the way of the leg drop. Moriarty tagged in and put a sleeper on Robinson, who countered with a back body drop and mananged to finally get a tag to Austin.

Austin took down both Infantry members, laying them out for a double guillotine leg drop. Austin fought off all four members of STP and hit a springboard crossbosdy on Dean. He went for a cover, but Taylor broke it up.

Austin and Taylor threw hands until Taylor caught him in a pop up powerbomb. Dean went for a cover, but Marshall broke it up. The Von Erichs hit a double dropkick on Taylor, but Ross fell victim to a Moriarty sling blade. Taylor came back in and knocked out Ross, blocking the claw from Marshall.

Marshall mamanged to scoop slam Taylor, but Bravo caught him with a DDT. Austin somehow became legal and narrowly avoided a Boot camp. Austin hit the Fold on Dean out of nowhere and rolled him up for a pin to get the victory for his team.

Match Result: Bang Bang Gang & The Von Erichs defeated Shane Taylor Promotions

-Backstage, Lexy nair interviewed Alec Price & Jordan Oliver about their upcoming match against Eddie Kingston and Ortiz. They gave the veterans their flowers, but said that they are looking at this as an opportunity to establish themselves. Then Price said “Brain” about six times.

AR Fox vs Action Andretti

Fox was able to use his lankiness to keep ahead of Andretti, countering pretty much everything he threw at him. Fox tried to catch Andretti by surprise with a series of quick pin attempts, but Andretti countered them all with pinning predicaments of his own.

Fox picked up the pace with a twisting suplex and senton, but could only get a two count. He threw a lariat in the corner then a series of elbows, trying to wear Andretti down. Andretti escaped the ring, but Fox followed, sending him into the barricade.

Fox grabbed a chair and set it up, putting Andretti into it and then circled the ring to build up some steam. As Fox turned the corner though, Andretti hit him with a shoulder. Andretti set Fox up in the chair and tried to take a lap of his own, but Fox scrambled across the ring and dove through the ropes at him.

Andretti bounced back and hit Fox with three dives to the outside before sending him back into the ring. Fox crawled to the corner and countered a senton, sending Andretti to the outside and leaping over the top rope onto him.

Back in the ring, Fox went for a cover, but Andretti kicked out while Coleman and Riccaboni talked about their NCAA brackets getting busted.

Andretti hit a very complicated arm drag and then a twisting springboard cross body after some stanky leg dancing. He chopped Fox in the corner, then drove the wind out of him with his shoulder. Andretti threw a spinning elbow, but Fox wouldn’t go down.

Fox slipped out of the ring and Andretti followed with a big kick. Andretti thre Fox back into the ring and stomped on his arm. Fox came back with a spinning kick followed by a missile dropkick. Fox threw a series of kicks and then a cutter, sending Andretti to the corner. He landed another cutter, but Andretti kicked out at two.

Fox whiffed on a 450 and Andretti went for a suplex. Fox countered it, but Andretti caught him with a back elbow. He hit a split-legged moonsault, but Fox kicked out at two. Andretti went for a backbreaker, but Fox got out of it and hit a cutter followed by a package powerbomb for two.

Fox went up top but Andretti met him there and hit a C4. He hit a running shooting star press, but Fox kicked out again. Andretti hoisted him up for a backbreaker again, transitioning into a neckbreaker. He threw some chops and punches and Fox returned in kind.

Andretti went for a springboard, but Fox caught him with a cutter. Fox scrambled up to the top and hit a 450 to put an end to the match.

Match Result: AR Fox defeated Action Andretti

The IInspiration (Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay) vs Frankie B & Viva Van

I’ve been a huge fan of the IInspiration since their IIconic days, so it’s great to see them in ROH.

Van and Lee began the match with Lee offering a very enthusiastic Code of Honor. Off of that, Lee sent Van to the corner where McKay tagged in and gave her a shot. They contriued with quick tags, taking out Frankie as well and having a little pose time.

McKay and Van stayed legal and the IInspiration isolated her and traded shots and quick tags. Lee threw a few roundhouse kicks and then a backstabber on Frankie who had come in to help.

McKay and Lee delivered stereo underhook facebusters before hitting the Idolizer on Frankie and winning the match.

Match Result: The IInspiration defeated Frankie B & Viva Van

After the match, the IInspiration were given mics and they formally introduced themselves to the ROH crowd. They ran down Van and Frankie, discussing how they were the only ladies with balls. Then they posed.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) w/ Myron Reed vs The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake)

Henry and Xavier opened the match trading waist and wrist locks. Xavier finally connected with a headscissor, but Henry kicked him in th gut about it. Wentz grabbed a blind tag and the Rascalz double teamed Henry in the corner.

Drake stomped across the ring to help, but the Rascalz took him out with a muta lock/dropkick combo. Henry snuck back in looking for a piledriver, but Xavier countered it with a cutter. Drake kept coming in to try and help Henry, but Xavier sent him out out of the ring. When he followed, Henry hit him with a kick to the face from the apron.

Back in the ring, Drake tagged in and Henry held Xavier while Drake sentoned him over the top rope. Drake took off his shirt and choked Xavier with it for a second, but Xavier fought out of it. Drake chopped him in the corner and then threw Xavier at the mat with a scoop slam.

Drake resorted to biting and cut off Xavier in the corner with Henry. They traded tags, putting the boots to Xavier. Drake tagged in and sent Xavier flying with a belly to belly suplex followed by a cannonball in the corner.

Drake went for a Vader Bomb, but Xavier moved and got a hot tag to Wentz just as Henry tagged in. Drake didn’t leave the ring though and Wentz took him out before a stiff kick to Henry’s head. Wentz hit a blockbuster on Drake then a high springboard kick on Henry for a two count.

Xavier tagged back in and hit a hurricanrana on Drake who was back in the ring for some reason. Wentz dove on Drake on the outside, while Xavier tried to pin Henry, but could only get a two count. Xavier in Wentz went for a double team, but Henry countered it and Drake suplexed Xavier.

Drake hit a shining wizard on Wentz, but Xavier broke up the pin. Drake got taken out with a dropkick, and the Rascalz hit a double team on Henry to get the win.

Match Result: The Rascalz defeated The WorkHorsemen

-Backstage, AR Fox and Action Andretti gave each other props on their match earlier. Andretti said that he’d love to do it again, any time, anywhere. Fox thanked him and they shook hands, but Andretti warned him he wouldn’t get another win on him.

ROH World Television Title Proving Ground Match: Nick Wayne (w/Mother Wayne) [c] vs Alex Reynolds

After some Mother Wayne-themed “crowd” work, the match started and Wayne drove Reynolds into the corner. Reynolds then returned the favor. Reynolds and Wayne then traded blows until Wayne was sent to the outside.

Reynolds followed and threw him back into the ring for a big crossbody. Reynolds threw punch after punch at Wayne, who countered by working his arm to take away the strikes. Reynolds screamed in pain as Wayne worked and wrenched his arm.

He managed a back elbow to create some space and then hit a swinging neckbreaker on Wayne. Reynolds went for a fisherman suplex, but Wayne countered, eating up the clock in the Proving Ground match.

Reynolds threw a lariat and then landed the suplex just as the 5-minute warning sounded. Reynolds went up top, but Wayne moved out of the way. Wayne tried a kick, but Reynolds rolled him up for a two count. He hit a high knee, but Wayne came back with a spinning kick and that was it. Wayne made the pin to dash Reynolds Proving Ground hopes.

Match Result: Nick Wayne defeated Alex Reynolds

Because the show hadn’t been long enough, Ian Riccaboni then interviewed Nick Wayne in the ring. He asked Wayne how it was possible he is this good. Wayne threw him out of the ring saying he only speaks to people with championships.

Wayne then talked about how he’s the future of Ring of Honor, AEW and pro wrestling. He said that all the crowd’s favourites will be retired in a few years, but he’ll still be here and he’ll still be ROH TV Champion.

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs Alec Price & Jordan Oliver

No one can decide if Price and Oliver are called “Busta and The Brain” or Oliver and Price, so I’m going with their names because that kinda makes sense.

Price and Kingston kicked off the match with Price running around because he’s “crazy.” Kingston should blocked him whenever he got close. Price landed a shoulder tackle off the ropes and tagged inO Oliver for a double team on Kingston.

Ortiz tagged in and he and Kingston hit a double suplex on Oliver. Oliver took down Ortiz with a drop toe hold and rolled him up for two. Price tagged in and they double teamed Ortiz in the corner. They fought around the ring, giving Kingston a chance for a blind tag when they passed him by.

Kingston put Prince in a camel clutch then sent him to the corner. Ortiz tagged in and stomped him. Ortiz hit a fisherman’s suplex then tagged in Kingston who chopped Price to the mat. He tried a series of covers, but Price kicked out of them all.

Ortiz tagged back in and strutted his way to a falling headbutt. He tagged Kingston back in for a double team and they cut off Price from taggin Oliver. Kingston made a mistake and whipped him off the ropes too close and Oliver grabbed a blind tag.

They double teamed Kingston for a second, but couldn’t get a pin. Price and Ortiz fought in the center of the ring until Oliver took out Ortiz with a running knee. Kingston dropped him with a lariat and went for a cover because I guess Oliver was legal? It got really hard to tell.

Ortiz took on both Oliver and Price, who overpowered him with a the damn numbers game. Oliver went for a high knee, but Ortiz dodged it and Kingston took out Price. They combined for a superbulldog on Oliver and then Oliver countered and sent Kingson into the corner. Price hit an Avalanche hurricanrana on Ortiz and then dove onto Kingston on the outside.

He went back up, but Ortiz moved and rolled him up into a trap to get a crucifix pin and the win to close out the show.

Match Result: Eddie Kingston & Ortiz defeated Alec Price & Jordan Oliver

They chose this moment to announce that qualifying matches for the ROH Women’s World Title Survival of The Fittest match will begin next week.

Bandido celebrates one year as ROH World Champion

Bandido posted a statement to social media reflecting on the last year he has spent as Ring of Honor World Champion.

Bandido’s second reign with the title began on April 6, 2025 at AEW Dynasty, where he defeated Chris Jericho in a title vs. mask match.

In an Instagram post early Wednesday morning, Bandido expressed gratitude for the past year of his career.

He wrote (translated):

“Today I read a sentence that said:
If you feel like there’s been a lot of rain in your life lately, just imagine all the flowers that will grow because of it! And I say that in my life this past year, the garden that God has given me is full of the most beautiful ones!!

1 YEAR OF BEING A WORLD CHAMPION!! 🥹
Thanks to all of you for letting me be THE MOST WANTED IN THE WORLDWWWWW🤠🌵🔫🔫🔫”

Bandido’s first reign with the ROH World Championship began at Best in the World on July 11, 2021, when he defeated Rush for the title. However, he was forced to vacate the belt before Final Battle that year after testing positive for COVID-19.

As of this writing, Bandido’s combined 519 days as champion across two reigns ranks fifth all-time. Only Jay Lethal (707), Samoa Joe (645), Rush (575), and Nigel McGuinness (545) have held the title longer.

The longest single reign belongs to Samoa Joe at 645 days, followed by Nigel McGuinness (545), Rush (498), Bryan Danielson (462), and Jay Lethal (427).

*****************************************
Here we are friends, ROH runs across the border to launch it’s latest installment of GLOBAL WARS! Previously, the likes of England, Mexico and Australia have hosted these battles of grappling greatness and now we find ourselves in the wild heart of Canada

Well, I’m always in Canada, but it’s nice to have some company!

ROH’s partner/adversaries tonight are the homicidal hosers on the roster of Scott d’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, based out of Windsor, Ontario. Having spent a week there one afternoon, I can tell you it’s a delightful town.

So grab your beaver tails, throw some back bacon in the fry pan and get ready for Canada to win like they did in Olympic Hock– oh. Right. Never mind. Eh.

Hyan vs Aurora Tempest

True to ROH form, the show started with a previously unannounced match pitting Hyan against Tempest, for reasons.

Hyan kept Tempest on her toes while Don Callis, Mauro Ranallo and Ian Riccaboni called the match. Hyan sent Temptest to the outside and flew after her with suicide dive. Tempest got back in the ring and hit a rolling scopion kick followed by a meteora to keep momentum in her favour.

Hyan came back with a staaaaaaaallling suplex and the two threw forearms in the middle of the ring. Hyan sent Tempest to the canvas with a hooking lariat and then a backdrop driver. Hyan went for the cover, but Tempest kicked out at two.

Hyan went for a big boot, but Tempest dodged it and tried to wrap Hyan up in an octopus. Hyan got out of it and sent Tempest off the ropes and nailed her with a spear. She went for a glam slam and dropped Tempest on her face to make the cover and get the win to kick off Global Wars!

Match Result: Hyan defeated Aurora Tempest

Raj Singh and Chris Chambers vs Mo Jabari and El Reverso

Singh is a mainstay in Maple Leaf Pro and Chris Chambers has a weed thing going on, which I should remind you, is legal in Canada. Not to brag or anything.

Singh and Chambers jumped their opponents right off the bell and when the dust settled, it was Reverso vs Chambers in the battle of armbars. Reverso tagged in Jabari and then hit a Manhattan Drop on Chambers.

Reverso tagged back in and Chambers sent him into Singh’s waiting knee in the corner. Chambers hit a suplex and then tagged in Singh. Singh threw some chops and went for a powerbomb, but Reverso countered and managed to tag in Jabari who went right to Singh, fists flying.

Jabari hit a vertical suplex and leg drop, but Singh kicked out at two. Jabari found himself at the mercy of a senton from Singh, and then some stomps. Jabari came out of the corner, but Singh hit him with a neckbreaker. Singh ran Reverso off the apron and then went back to putting the boots to Jabari.

Chambers tagged back in and scoop slammed Jabari. Chambers went for a stomp off the second rope, but Jabari got his knees up. Reverso came in and double dropkicked Singh and Chambers. He hit a springboard dropkick on Singh and Chambers got involved enough to eat a DDT.

Singh overpowered Reverso and superkicks started being spammed all around. Singh charged Reverso, but Reverso pulled down the top rope, sending him to the outside. Reverso then hit a very high moonsault on the kinda high Chambers and picked up the pin and victory.

Match Result: Mo Jabari and El Reverso defeated Raj Singh and Chris Chambers

Maya World vs Billie Starkz

It was during these introductions that we, the audience, realized that this was just in fact, the pre-show for Global Wars Canada. Why this would be on the pre-show? Beats me. Canada is just full of surprises.

A smiling Starkz suckered World in on the Code of Honor (which World really should have seen coming, but I digress) and the two went back and forth until World hit a shotgun dropkick, sending Starkz to the outside. World followed and decked Starkz on the entrance ramp.

Starkz turned the tides though, sending World into the stairs, face first. She tossed World back into the ring and the two traded shots with Starkz coming out on top and sending World to the corner for exactly 8 punches.

World dodged and axehandle and tried to hit a springboard move, but Starkz caught her and hit a backbreaker off the ropes. World came up swinging, but couldn’t get ahold of Starkz, so Starkz kicked her in the back.

Starks threw elbows and stomps, pausing only to mug for the crowd when she could. World started to fire up, but Starkz cut her off with a stunner and a heel kick. World rolled through and jumped up for a stomp that sent Starkz reeling.

World took over with kicks and a snap suplex. World followed that up with a springboard moonsault from the second rope for a two count. Starkz went for a quick rollup and World countered it. They rolled around the ring getting two counts until Starkz sent World to the corner. She dropped World over her knee with a back breaker, but only got a two count.

Starkz went up top, but World pulled her down in a sunset powerbomb followed by a shining wizard and that was it. World got the pin and the win.

Match Result: Maya World defeated Billie Starkz

And now, after a very fiery opening video package featuring an eclipse for some reason and some gas price jokes, Global Wars Canada!

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs Adam Priest & Tommy Billington

Kingston and Priest kicked things off with the crowd clearly behind Kingston. Priest grabbed a headlock and took Kingston to the mat. Kingston scrambled up and hooked Priest, giving Ortiz a chance to tag in and hit a double suplex on Priest.

Billington made a blind tag and they double teamed Ortiz until Priest got tired and left. Billington tagged him back in though for a double back suplex. Billington tagged in and stomped the hand of Ortiz, but Ortiz countered with a body slam and tagged in Kingston.

Kingsto hit a flapjack, but Billington kicked out. Kingston hit a butterfly suplex, but Billington fought back and sent him into the corner with Priest. Priest tagged in and started working on Kingston’s arm. Kingston fought back with chops until Priest drove his shoulder into the mat.

Billington tagged in but Kingston fought both of them off until Priest hit a clothesline and Billington a suplex simultaneously. Ortiz tagged in and tried to fight them both, but caught a dropkick from Billington. Ortiz fired up and came back in to get caught in a half crab by Priest.

Billington then put a crossface on Kingston. Kingston dragged them both out of the ring, and Priest and Ortiz fought to the corner. Priest tried to suplex Ortiz from the top rope, but Kingston got involved and turned it into a bowlerbomb lariat combo.

Billington started spamming suplexes, tossing Kingston and Ortiz around the ring. Billington hit an avalanche suplex on Ortiz, but Kingston caught a blind tag andf slid in to steal one with a rollup.

Match Result: Eddie Kingston & Ortiz defeated Adam Priest & Tommy Billington

-MLP Men’s Canadian Champion Josh Alexander (who was supposed to be on the Global Wars card) addressed the crowd from his car, saying that he is injured and will be out indefinitely.

ROH Women’s World Television Title Match: Red Velvet (c) vs Alice Crowley

Crowley kicked off Velvet’s Code of Honor and the two locked up with Velvet landing a casadora. Crawly came back with a throat chop and grabbed a wrenching headlock. Velvet sent her off the ropes, but Crowley came back with a shoulder block.

Velvet countered with a leg lariat and lured Crowley to the ropes to deliver an axe kick. Crowley paid it back though with a ddt on the apron (the most Canadian part of the ring!) before throwing Velvet back in for a suplex.

Crowley (a former tag partner of Billie Starkz aparently) tried to grab a cover, but no dice as Velvet kicked out. Crowley whiffed on a chop, giving Velvet a chance to return the favour in all four corners. Velvet charged Crowley, but got caught by a drop toe hold and went face first into the turnbuckle.

Crowley hit a fisherwoman’s suplex for a two count, but Velvet came back with a European uppercut. Velvet fired up and went for another casadora into a bulldog. She it a meteora in the ropes and then a standing moonsault. Somehow, Crowley kicked out of the cover.

Crowley caught Velvet with a pump kick and a suplex, but Velvet kicked out at 2.5. Crowley dragged Velvet to the corner and went up top, but Velvet countered it into a modified slam from the top rope. Crowley came back with a discus elbow and air raid crash, but Velvet wasn’t done yet.

Crowley came off the ropes right into a superkick. Velvet went off the ropes and Crowley caught her in a sidewalk slam for a two count. Velvet dodged a series of strikes before hitting a Chef’s Kiss kick right to Crowley’s face. Velvet made the cover and got the victory.

Match Result: Red Velvet defeated Alice Crowley

-Backstage Deonna Purrazzo, ROH Women’s Pure Champion, was interviewed about her match tonight against Gisele Shaw. Purrazzo said that she’s looking forward to working with Shaw until Pure Rules. She said that Shaw hasn’t done this before, but she (Purrazzo) does this all the time. She then said that Shaw would walk out of Global Wars fluent in Purrazzo.

Six Man Tag Team Match: The Lethal Twist (Blake Christian, Jay Lethal & Lee Johnson) vs Bhupinder Gujjar, Evil Uno & Psycho Mike

So, the Lethal Swirl/Twist have been general pains in the asses of most of the ROH roster for the last few months. Gujjar and Mike are regulars in MLP and Evil Uno is dark, orderly speaking.

Lethal and Mike kicked things off with Lethal going for a strut early. He ducked the first shot off the ropes by Mike, but not the second as Mike sent Lethal to the mat and posed for an exceptionally long time. He then asked if anyone wanted to see a body slam, and the crowd did, but Lethal disagreed and bailed from the ring.

Mike and Lethal ran around the ring, with Mike simply pushing past Johnson and Christian. They got back in the ring and Mike went for said body slam, but Johnson and Christian broke it up before Lethal could get slammed. Mike sulked back to the corner where he got some reassurance and a tag from Gujjar.

Johnson tagged in and he an Gujjar picked up the pace, running the ropes and leapfrogging over each other until Gujjar landed a dropkick. Johnson came back and sent Gujjar into the corner. Christian came in and put him in a tree of woe, but Uno made the save.

Christian took out Uno with a moonsault on the outside and Johnson connected on that dropkick in the corner on Gujjar. Lethal then tagged in and tried to suplex Gujjar, but it was reversed and Gujjar hit a chop. Lethal countered with a DDT. Johnson came in and they hit a double wishbone on Gujjar.

Christian then joined Johnson and they did it again before double superkicking him. Lethal and Christian got taken out by Uno and Mike, but Gujjar couldn’t make a tag. He hit Lethal with a forearm then a big diving crossbody from the top rope. Lethal kicked out of the cover at two though.

Uno tagged in and repeatedly splashed Johnson and Lethal in opposite corners until he got tired. He took a moment to catch his breath, then resumed the clotheslines and then a bulldog lariat. Uno went for suplex on Johnson, but Christian made the save. Uno hit a DDT on Christian and Johnson came in to help, but Uno dropped him with a shoulder breaker.

Lethal came in and prevented Uno from tagging Mike, but Uno worked out a neckbreaker on Lethal and crawled over for a tag to Mike. Mike spammed body slams on all three members of the Lethal Swirl/Twist, stacking them up like cordwood.

Mike then picked up Christian and threw him onto the rest of the Lethal Twist/Swirl on the outside. Then he dove over the top rope to take them out again.

Back in the ring, Mike went for a suplex on Lethal, who countered it and sent him into Uno in the corner. Gujjar came in just in time to eat a Lethal Injection, but he wasn’t the legal man. Mike rose behind Lethal and went for another body slam. Lethal counterd and Johnson and Christian came in for a series of quick knees and kicks, followed by a double stomp from the top rope. Lethal dropped a high elbow and that was it. He got the pin on Gujjar and the Lethal Swirl/Twist win.

Match Result: The Lethal Twist defeated Bhupinder Gujjar, Evil Uno & Psycho Mike

ROH Women’s Pure Title Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Gisele Shaw

Jon Cruz, Jimmy Jacobs and D’Lo Brown were announced as the judges for this Pure Rules match and unlike most ROH Judges, they were actually there! Shaw is the MLP Women’s Canadian Champion, but her title wouldn’t be on the line in this match.

The clock started and they let the crowd chant for about 30 seconds before locking up. Shaw tried several wristlocks, but Purrazzo was able to get out of all of them. Shaw went for a grapevine of the leg, but Purrazzo countered it into a modified armbar.

Shaw countered with an armdrag (and saucy bow) and they locked up again, this time with Purrazzo getting the waistlock. Purrazzo went for the fujiwara early, forcing Shaw to use her first rope break at 57:16.

Shaw came back with a kick to the gut, but Purrazzo dodged the charge in the corner. Shaw kicked her in the face about it, sending Purrazzo to the outside. Shaw followed and slammed Purrazzo’s hand on the apron repeatedly (The hardest part of the ring the hardest part of the ring!).

Back in the ring, Shaw took control with some kicks and stomps and even a little hair pull for good measure. Shaw threw some European uppercuts in the corner, but Purrazzo came back and they ran into a double clothesline situation.

Purrazzo threw a bunch of lariats and a russian leg sweep into the fujiwara. Shaw rolled through, forcing Purrazzo to break the hold, lest be pinned. Shaw threw an uppecut into Purrazzo’s arm, bending it unnaturally. Purrazzo shoved her off and into the corner.

Shaw dodged the charge and deilvered a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Shaw put a fujiwara on Purrazzo, forcing her to use her first rope break at 51:06.

Shaw went for a full nelson, but Purrazzo threw back elbows until she could get out of it. They traded forearms in the middle of the ring, until Shaw landed a backbreaker combo that she calls “Shock and Shaw” which is pretty great, I have to say. Purrazzo kicked out of the cover(s) at two.

Rolling through, Purrazzo got Shaw in another fujiwara, but Shaw managed to get her foot on the ropes at 48:49 to break the hold. Purrazzo dragged her to the middle of the ring, but Shaw countered into a jack knife cover for two. Purrazzo hit a pile driver and made the cover, but Shaw used her last rope break to break it up at 48:06.

Purrazzo nailed Shaw with a big boot, but Shaw came back with a Michinoku driver into a fujiwara. Purrazzo just barely got to the ropes at 47:11 to use her second rope break.

Shaw went for a high knee, but Purrazzo dodged it and worked her into a fujiwara in the middle of the ring. Shaw reached the ropes, but she was out of breaks. Purrazzo transitioned into a venus de milo and Shaw was forced to quit, giving Purrazzo the victory and her 10th successful defense of the ROH Women’s Pure Title.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Gisele Shaw

PWA Champion’s Grail Title Match: Rohan Raja (c) vs Stu Grayson

Raja is the inaugural PWA Champion’s Grail, uh, Champion, which he’s held for over 500 days. Grayson lost to Raja when Raja was the NWA Champion. Fun Fact: Grayson also owns a small flooring company in Quebec.

Grayson surprised Raja off the top with a high knee and sent him to the outside. Grayson followed with a suicide dive and threw Raja back into the ring. Raja slid out the other side and Grayson followed with punches.

Back in the ring, Raja went for a kick, but Grayson caught his foot and nailed him with a hurricanrana. Grayson tried a fireman’s carry, but Raja got out of it. Grayson hit him with a dropkick and swept Raja’s lags. Grayson followed with a senton over the ropes onto Raja on the apron (the grailest part of the ring!)

Raja tired to counter everything that Grayson threw at him, but had no luck until Grayson went up top and Raja was able to kick him off the turnbuckle to the outside. Grayson climbed back in and Raja clubbed him in the back. Raja hit a backstabber, but Grayson kicked out of the cover at one.

Raja started a comeback with some big boots to Grayson followed by some open handed chops in the corner. Grayson came out with some chops of his own, but Raja countered and threw him face first into the turnbuckle. Then back first. Then face first. Then back first again.

Grayson exploded out of the corner with a lariat to end the beat down and threw and insiguri before going up top. Raja caught him though and dragged him down into the ring for a Superman-type punch. Grayson got up and no sold a slap from Raja. They traded shots in the middle of the ring until Grayson landed a Pele kick out of nowhere.

Raja got to his feet and they traded strikes again, colliding in three double lariats. The third caught Raja and Grayson got a trifecta of belly-to-belly Stu-plexes (c & tm Mauro Ranallo) on Raja. Grayson hit a n around the world DDT and then went for a sping board moonsault, but Raja got the knees up. Grayson tried it again and landed it, but Raja kicked out at two.

Raja nanaged to catch Grayson in a swinging sidewalk slam into a Rings of Saturn submission. Grayson rolled through and hit a pop up powerbomb, but Raja kicked out. Grayson set Raja up on the top turnbuckle for a super Stu-plex, but took too long to make the cover and Raja caught him in a small package to steal the win.

Match Result: Rohan Raja defeated Stu Grayson

-Backstage, Ricochet was interviewd about his match against Rich Swann. He said that he has the dog in him and that he’s a winner. Ricochet said that he has levelled up and he is out of this world. Tonight, Swann goes down.

Six Pack Scramble Match: Michael Oku vs Ace Austin vs Brent Banks vs Daisuke Sasaki vs Jake Crist vs Michael Allen Richard Clark

Canadian Push Up Hall of Famer Clark grabbed a mic off his entrance and complained about being disrespected by the crowd. They responded by chanting “shut the f&ck up” at him. Oku’s entrance interrupted anything else he was going to say. Thankfully.

The bell rang and everyone took a second to stare at each other before Austin and Banks threw shome shots. Everyone cleared the ring and Oku and Banks were left to fight. Oku hit a big dropkick and went for a half-crab but Sasaki broke up the hold.

Sasaki hit a spear on Oku and Crist came back in with a diving forearm. Clark took him out with a diving back elbow, but Austin came in to wrap Clark up with an Oklahoma roll into a drop kick. Austin then turned to hit a thrust kick on Banks. He took out Crist as well, but Clark stopped his momentum with a dropkick.

Sasaki hit a dropkick to Clark’s back then dove over the top rope onto him up the entrance ramp. Oku got back into the ring and got the crowd going, but Crist dove over the ropes onto the field before Oku could. Crist tried a piledriver on Oku, but Oku countered just in time for both to get hit by Banks.

Austin joined Banks in the ring and also ate one of Banks’ dropkicks. Banks went up top, but Sasaki crotched him on the turnbuckle. Austin fought off Crist and Sasaki, setting them both up for a double fireman’s carry, but Clark dropkicked him to break it up.

Clark did some pushups over top of Austin for reasons and Sasaki kicked him in the head about it. Austin took out Sasaki and Clark, but Banks had a left hand that dropped him. Crist hit a heel kick on Clark who countered with a powerslam.

Sasaki hit a Pedigree on Clark and then locked in a crossface. Austin grabbed Clark in a Muta lock and Oku stomped them both to break it up. Austin flattened Oku with a clothesline and then dropped Sasaki. He backdropped Oku onto Sasaki and then Banks landed a tornado crossbody on Austin.

Oku hit a high knee on Banks and then a moonsault. Then Oku flopped over the top rope to take out Sasaki and Clark on the outside. Oku scrambled up and went for a frog splash, but missed and Crist hit a Death Valley Driver and Sliced Bread on Oku for a two count.

Crist went up top, but Banks knocked him down. Clark then knocked Crist down and Banks hit a blue thunder bomb on him in response. Banks went up top, but missed and Oku hit a frog splash to make a quick cover and get the victory.

Match Result: Michael Oku defeated Ace Austin, Brent Banks, Daisuke Sasaki, Jake Crist and Michael Allen Richard Clark

ROH Women’s World Title Match: Athena (c) vs Taylor Rising

Personally, I can’t wait for Taylor Rising to morph into Taylor-H, but it’s a little early for that. The video package seemed to indicate that Rising expects to win this match, but it’s doubtful Athena’s 78-0-1, 1200+ day reign as Champion is coming to an end anytime soon.

Athena started the match by yelling at the ref and then sent Rising into the corner. She toyed with her a bit, then socked her one right in the kisser, sending Rising crumpling to the ground. Rising came back with a waistlock and then a flying headscissor.

Rising hit a hurricanrana then a dropkick into a 619, sending Athena to the outside. Rising dove after her, but Athena caught her and drove her into the barricade. Athena sent Rising face first into the apron (The Ranallo-est part of the ring!) before tossing her back into the ring.

Athena clubbed and struck Rising until Rising counterd a suplex attempt. Athena kipped up and nailed her with a dropkick though, fish hooking her into a body triangle. Rising started elbowing out, but Athena threw a lariat as soon as she got to her feet.

Athena kneed Rising in the head a few times and then took her out at the knees. Rising tried a rollup, but Athena kicked out. Athena countered a lungblower and hoisted Rising onto her shoulders. Rising counterd into an electric chair, then double stomped Athena on the way down.

Rising got back to her feet and hit a codebreaker into a 619. She threw Athena off the ropes and Athena tried for a casadora, but Rising countered it into a facebuster for a two count.

Athena crawled to the outside, but Rising caught her and dragged her back into the ring, looking for a Pedigree. Athena countered with a knee lift and pumphandle samoan driver. Athena made the cover, but Rising kicked out at two.

Athena slapped and screamed at Rising, driving her into the mat. She went up top for the O Face, but couldnt get set, giving Rising the chance to scramble up and hit a superplex from the top turnbuckle for a two count.

Rising went for a sunset flip, driving Athena’s head into the mat. The count ended with a kickout though. Athena reversed an Irish whip, but walked into a kick and a codebreaker. Rising went for the cover, but Athena kicked out at two.

Rising hit a German suplex, but Athena countered with a side suplex of her own. Athena then started “tuning up the band” and Athena went for a Sweet Chin Music, but Rising countered with a discus punch. Athena went for a powerbomb and transitioned into a Koji Clutch, forcing Rising to tap out.

Match Result: Athena defeated Taylor Rising

-Scott D’Amore then appeared on the screen and announced that this July, the brand new show MLP Mayhem will premiere on TSN, starting a new era in Canadian pro wrestling. Hurray!

Ricochet vs Rich Swann

Swann and Ricochet have met 75 times over the years. That alone is pretty impressive.

The bell rang and after some crowd work, Ricochet bailed from the ring. He stood on the entrance ramo for a bit then got back in. Finally, there was a lockup and Swann drove Ricochet into the corner. The ref separated them and they locked up again, this time with Ricochet getting a wristlock.

The pace early on was slow, with both men trading wristlocks, then slowly slithering out of them. A classic test of strenght ended with Ricochet getting Swann into a straight jacket. Swann tried to counter, but Ricochet locked in tighter, taking him to the mat.

Swann finally reversed the hold, and came off the ropes with a headscissior. Things picked up as they ran the ropes throwing dropkicks with neither one connecting. Finally Ricochet landed one, but Swann countered into a takedown and Ricochet left the ring to regroup.

Swann hit a cannonball off the ring apron (the Cannon-est part of the ring!) onto Ricochet and then chopped him against the barricade. Swann kept up with the chops before sending Ricochet back into the ring and into the corner.

Swann landed exactly 10 punches in the corner and Ricochet pie-faced him for his efforts. Swann put the boots to him and Ricochet tripped him into the second rope. Ricochet landed a corkscrew kick and dropped some elbows on Swann.

They moved to the outside where Ricochet bounced Swanns head off the barricade then slammed him face first onto the concrete. Ricochet went back into the ring, content with a count out victory. Swann got to his feet though and made it in to break said count.

Ricochet whipped Swann into the corner, throwing lariats and chops once he got there. Swann countered with a big boot and a leaping lariat to knock Ricochet to the canvas. Swann threw a bunch of jabs and a neckbreaker. He hit a rolling thunder splash for a two count as Ricochet kicked out.

Swann got too close to the ropes though and Ricochet dropped him on the top one. Swann came back with an insiguri on the ring apron (the Callis-est part of the ring!), but Ricochet lured Swan back in and turned him inside out with a German suplex and standing Shooting Star Press. Swann wouldn’t go down though and kicked out of repeated covers.

Ricochet started with some chops in the corner, but Swann ducked and threw some more punches in the corner. Ricochet went to the second rope, and Swann tired a headscissor, but Ricochet landed on his feet. Swann hit an insiguri and climbed up top. Swan hit a frog splash, but Ricochet kicked out of the cover at two.

Swann hit a roundhouse kick to Ricochet’s chest but Ricochet came back with chops. They talked trash and traded blows until Swann hit a discus punch. The ref got in the way and Ricochet hit one of his own into a Northern Lights suplex. Ricochet hit a powerbomb out of a facelock, but Swann wouldn’t stay down and kicked out at two.

Ricochet loaded up the spirit gun, but missed. Swann hit a poisonrana, and Ricochet hit one of his own, but again, no joy. Ricochet got simple then and threw a massive lariat out of the corner, spinning Swann around and getting the pin to pick up the win.

Match Result: Ricochet defeated Rich Swann

Vacant MLP Canadian Tag Team Title Four Way Match: The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) vs Bishop Dyer & Kaito Kiyomiya vs Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs Bryce Hansen & Sheldon Jean

After all of that, it was main event time! The MLP Canadian Tag Championships will be awarded for the first time to the winning team in this four way match.

Everyone gathered in the ring and the expected brawl broke out. GoA cleared the ring, but the Good Brothers and Dyer got back in and the fight continued. Everyone fought on the outside with Gats of Agony brutalizing Jean and Hansen.

Gallows and Dyer fought Bishop and Kaun, throwing them into the stairs. Jean dove over the top rope onto the Good brothers. Then Kiyomiya and Anderson ended up in the middle of the ring, officially stating the match.

Things didn’t get much less chaotic from there. Gallows and Kaun battled in the ring with Gallows dropping elbows and isolating him in the corner with Anderson. The Good Brothers traded tags and double teams on Kaun with Anderson staying legal.

Anderson threw Kaun into Jean which counted as a tag. Anderson hit uppercuts and dropdowns on Jean, but Jean went for the eyes, backing into the GOA corner, allowing Kaun to tag back in. Liona came in and drove Gallows off the apron and they hit a double team on Anderson.

Liona ended up legal with Anderson, who fought back with some chops but fell to a body slam from Liona. Liona put on a nerve hold to Anderson’s shoulder, but he refused to give up. Anderson turned it into a jawbreaker and Jean came in to take on Anderson.

Jean dragged Anderson over to his corner for some double teams with Hansen. The ref broke it up and Hansen hit a big suplex on Anderson. Jean tagged back in and Anderson fought his way out of the corner, but fell victim to a chinlock from Jean.

Jean broke the hold to knock Gallows off the apron, but that let Liona make a blind tag on Jean and bring in Kaun for a double team on the withering Anderson, who sucked a move and hit a big cutter and neckbreaker on Hansen who had tagged in somewhere.

Gallows finally got the tag and walked around the ring raking everyone out. He threw a shoulder into Hansen and then hit a jackhammer, but Jean broke up the pin. Kiyomiya tagged in and hit a dragonscrew on Gallows. Kaun tagged in and ate a shining wizard, but Liona broke up the cover.

Dyer came in and hit an end of days as Kaun dropkicked Gallows. Liona took his turn to drop everyone, but walked into another End of Days. Kaun hit a lungblower on Jean, and Anderson came in with a spinebuster. Gallows cleared room and dropped Hansen, but Kiyomiya nailed him with a shining wizard.

Then everyone took a bit of a rest.

When the dust cleared, Liona picked up Gallows and Kiyomia and hit a fallaway slam and samoan drop at the same time!

Jean and Hansen then dragged Liona out of the ring. Kaun dove over the ropes to take them out. Gallows and Dyer were legal and Gallows threw Dyer into his partner. The Good Brothers then hit the magic killer on Dyer and made the pin to pick up the victory and become the inaugural MLP Tag Team Champions!

Match Result: The Good Brothers defeated Bishop Dyer & Kaito Kiyomiya, Gates Of Agony and Bryce Hansen & Sheldon Jean

***********

Don’t tell me what to do! I’m not starting this recap until 7:01, so eat it!

…. 7:00:57, 7:00:58, 7:00:59… All right, there we go, 7:01 on the dot. I’m such a renegade.

What did you miss? Just another look at the TV studio that serves as ROH’s new home. There are some vast improvements from the last set of tapings, including new black curtains on the walls instead of the big white void (the void now has an ROH logo) and an interview with Lacey Lane!

Lane was asked about her match tonight against Persephone for the CMLL Women’s Title. Lane said that she has more Lucha Libre chops than people realize and people are not going to want to miss her match later.

Persephone responded immediately, saying that people don’t really know her. She then told us she was born in Texas, speaks English and Spanish, and that she’s ready for tonight’s fight against Lane.

CMLL World Women’s Title Match: Persephone (c) vs Lacey Lane

And to complete the trifecta, that very match kicked off the show! Then the one and only Tony Khan himself came over from his office across the street to present the CMLL World Women’s Title belt to the crowd.

Introductions were made, bells were rung and the fight was on. The two flipped and moved through a set of chain wrestling moves until Persephone got a crucifix pin for a two count. Lane returned the favour and armdragged Persephone across and out of the ring. Persepone chased Lane around the ring, but Lane was able to dodge just about everything, until an errant electric chair gave Persephone a chance to drop Lane onto the apron face-first.

Back in the ring, Persephone sent Lane into the corner for some stiff shots. Persephone started working Lane’s leg, kicking it and wrapping it up in the ropes. She dropped some hard knees into Lane’s gut, but could only get a two count on the cover.

Persephone grabbed a headlock, and then whipped Lane off the ropes. Lane countered and came off the ropes with some big kicks. Persephone caught her last one though and turned it into an exploder suplex. She tried a few cover attempts, but Lane kicked out of them all.

Persephone dragged Lane up and kneed her in the stomach a bunch before slapping on a double wristlock. Persephone tried to split Lane’s fingers, but Lane countered into a pin attempt. Persephone kicked out and took back momentum until Lane it a casadora to drag her down.

Lane landed a kick from the ground and sent Persephone against the ropes for a running knee. Lane hit a spingboard dropkick from the second rope and chopped Persephone until Persephone countered into a suplex for a two count.

Persephone rained down headbutts on Lane, and set her up for a Crucifix Bomb, but Lane countered and sent her into the ropes, landing a big boot of the recoil. Lane elbowed Persephone in the back of the head and then dropped an elbow from the second rope.

Lane dodged everything Persephone threw at her until she threw a spear. That caught her and Persephone was able to land the Crucifix Bomb and get the pin to retain the CMLL Women’s Title.

Match Result: Persephone defeated Lacey Lane

Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match: SkyFlight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Zayda Steel) vs Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Isla Dawn

I’m not sure if the Martin boys are going by Skyflight when Scorpio isn’t around, but as a group, I like it so I’m going with it. The Vets and Isla don’t seem to have the same name consistencies, but they do operate as a team more often, so they could have an adventage here.

Darius and Drake kicked thing off with a lockup. Drake worked through wristlocks into hammerlocks into waist locks, all while swinging his gorgeous locks.

Darius jumped up and he and Drake tried to get ahold of each other but couldn’t. Gibson whispered some advice into Drake’s ear and he came out swiging, slapping on a facelock. Drake couldn’t get the suplex he wanted, so Gibson tagged in for a double team.

Gibson threw Darius with a suplex and then wrapped his arms up to try and force his shoulders to the mat. Darius kicked out and started throwing punches. He got a quick tag to Dante who hit an atomic drop on Gibson as Darious shoulder tackled him.

Drake grabbed a blind tag and they tried a double clothesline, but Dante went off the ropes in a double crossbody. Steel tagged in, but Darius and Dante clotheslined Gibson out of the ring before Dawn could get in.

When the ring cleared, Steel and Dawn brawled with Steel landed a dropkick on a prone Dawn. Drake caused a distraction and Dawn hit a superkick on Steel for a two count. She started driving knees into Steel’s back and European uppercuts in the corner.

Dawn hit Steel in the back of the head with her knee for a two count. Steel fought back and came off the ropes, but Dawn was ready and she hit a big boot before slapping on a modified Cobra Clutch. Steel got out of it and hit a pump-kick, and the both crawled to the corners for tags.

Dante and Drake made it in and Dante hit a spingboard dropkick that levelled Drake. Dante avoided Drake’s charges and Gibson tagged in. Darious came in and hit a DDT that sent Gibson rolling out of the ring.

Dawn got in the ring and got in the Martin’s faces, but Steel sent her out of the ring. All three then dove through the ropes to take out the other team on the outside.

Drake made it back into the ring and Darius hit a German suplex. Gibson tried to interfere, but Darious sent him out and rolled Drake up with a roll. Drake reversed it and tried to steal one with a handful of tights, but Darious kicked out.

Dawn and Steel tagged in and traded slaps that quickly turned into punches. Steel went for a waistlock, but Dawn hit a back elbow. Gibson tried to offer advice, but Dante pulled him off the apron. Steel hit a ripcord heel strike to Dawn’s head and rolled her up to get the pin and victory for Skyflight.

Match Result: SkyFlight defeated Grizzled Young Veterans & Isla Dawn

-Backstage, Lee Johnson and Blake Christian, who were going by the “swirl” again for some reason, said that Jay Lethal was already in Windsor for Global wars and that they would win their six-man match there. Cool.

Myron Reed (w/Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) vs Mansoor (w/Johnny TV & Mason Madden)

The still newly-bald Johnny TV and Madden were at ringside to even up the numbers game as Mansoor offered his tip for Reed to touch. The bell rang and they locked up with Mansoor getting an armbar.

As Mansoor worked the arm of Reed, there was a lot of smack talk from Madden and TV. Reed reversed the lock though and they got quiet. Mansoor rolled through and managed to fishhook Reed, but Reed shoved him into the ropes.

They ran the ropes and Reed hit a mid air leg drop (a somewhat fame-ass move, if you will) and Mansoor went to the corner for some reassurance from TV. He got back in the ring and Reed offered a consensual tip touch, but Mansoor kicke dhim at the last minute.

Reed ran Mansoor into the corner. TV caused a distraction and Mansoor raked Reed’s eyes before hitting a bulldog. He stomped Reed in the ring and started throwing chops. Mansoor dumped him over the ropes to where TV and Madden were waiting to poke him in the eye. Wentz and Xavier came over to run him off while Mansoor dragged Reed back into the ring.

Mansoor hit an elbow on the bridge of Reed’s nose and chopped him into the ropes, where he raked his face along the top one. Mansoor put on a smiling headlock in the middle of the ring, but Reed powered up and came out swinging, landing some right hands on Mansoor’s head.

Mansoor tried to go up top, but Reed pulled him off the turnbuckle. Reed hit a guillotine and then a parkour-flavoured insiguri. He went for a suplex, but Mansoor countered it. Mansoor went for a suplex and Reed countered it. Mansoor went for another, but Reed countered it into a DDT.

TV got up on the apron to cause a distraction and Mansoor went for an eye poke that Reed blocked. Mansoor hit a death valley driver and pretended that he got his eye poked as everyone brawled outside. Madden went to poke Xavier in the eyes, but he dodged and TV caught the fingers. Mansoor took out Xavier and Zachary with a baseball slide, but then Reed hit a diving cutter to take out the whole field.

Back in the ring, Reed hit a a picture perfect 450 splash off the top rope and pinned Mansoor to get the win. Madden then carried Mansoor to the back like Batman holding a dead Robin.

Match Result: Myron Reed defeated Mansoor

TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste) vs Better Together (Hadar Horvitz & Ori Gold)

Horvitz and Haste started things off after a code of honor with Haste armdragging Horvitz to the mat. Haste hit a big dropkick and posed while Nicholls came in for a double team. They dropped elbows on Horvitz who kicked out of the cover.

Nicholls started throwing chops and Haste came back in to throw some kicks and taunts. Horvitz stumbled to the corner and popped out with a discus elbow. Haste went to the outside where Gold landed a huge kick to his head.

Gold tagged in and they hit a hugging double team on Haste before Hotvitz tagged back in. Quick tags from Gold and Horvitz led to a blocked double leg sweeo and Haste took them both out. He tagged in Nicholls who double clotheslined Gold and Horvitz.

Gold stayed legal and Nicholls hit a spiccoli driver, but Horvitz broke up the pin. Haste came in to help and Gold tried to take them both out. That did not work and TMDK hit a double elevator slam for the pin and victory.

Match Result: TMDK defeated Better Together

-Backstage, ROH Women’s Pure Champion called out her Global Wars opponent, MLP Women’s Champion Giselle Shaw. She warned Shaw that she would have to beat her the “Pure-azzo” way.

ROH Women’s Pure Title Proving Ground Match: Deonna Purrazzo [c] vs Robyn Renegade

The bell rang and the match started with an exchange of wristlocks. Purrazzo counterd a waistlock into a leg takedown and rolled up Renegade for a two count. They locked up again with Purrazzo sending Renegade to the corner where she was charged a rope break.

Renegade exploded back with a flapjack slam. She pulled Purrazzo up and into a facelock, but Purrazzo countered the suplex, looking for the fujiwara. Renegade managed to avoid it though and hit a high kick, allowing her to dance momentarily.

Renegade put an abdominal stretch on Purrazzo, but Purrazzo reversed it into a fujiwara, forcing Renegade to use a rope break at 6:34. Purrazzo threw some high knees and a side Russian leg sweep into the fujiwara in the center of the ring. Renegade rolled out of it and right into a pump-kick from Purrazzo.

They got to their feet and traded forearms, leading to a flurry of strikes. Purrazzo got the upper hand with a kick as the 5 minute warning rang out. Purrazzo set Renegade up for a suplex, but Renegade countered and hung her up on the ropes for a guillotine stomp and a two count.

Renegade hit an anarchist suplex and went for a moonsault, but Purrazzo dodged it and hit a big lariat. She powerbombed Renegade and locked in the Fujiwara, forcing Renegade to tap out.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Robyn Renegade

Anthony Ogogo w/ The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean) vs Nick Comoroto

Fun Fact: Ogogo was an Olympic boxer. Funner Fact: Comoroto is a certified accountant.

Ogogo got in Comoroto’s face off the bat, so he picked him up and threw him at the mat. Comoroto put on a wrist lock and lifted Ogogo above his head before dropping him. Comoroto then splashed Ogogo in the corner while Bravo caused a distraction.

That turned the tide in Ogogo’s favour who threw some body punches at Comoroto. Ogogo allegedly threw some elbows, but Comoroto countered with a backslide for a two count. Ogogo punched him in the ribs and told him to stay down before flexing and shouting “God save the King.”

He threw a European uppercut at Comoroto who fought back with a powerslam out of nowhere. Comoroto hit a butterfly suplex on Ogogo and splashed him. He followed that up with another powerslam, but looked like he was favouring his ribs.

Ogogo got him with an Olympic slam, dumping Comoroto on his sore ribs. Ogogo tried another “right angle suplex” but Comoroto got out of it. Dean popped up and hit him in the face, allowing Ogogo to land a big punch to his face. Ogogo covered Comoroto with the Union Jack as the ref started counting, Comortoto unmoving under the flag.

Bravo and Dean celebrated at ringside, but Comoroto got up at 9. Ogogo simply punched him in the face again and that was in. He covered him and got the victory.

Match Result: Anthony Ogogo defeated Nick Comoroto

ROH Women’s World Television Title Match: Red Velvet (c) vs Trish Adora

Adora came to the ring with her tag partner Christian XO and what I thought was the Infantry, but was actually just XO’s legs.

Adora jumped Velvet from behind and sent her out of the ring as the bell rang. Adora stalked her, with XO keeping Velvet from getting away. Adora threw Velvet into the barricade, but as they turned the corner, Velvet began to fight back. Adora grabbed her and threw her headfirst into the ringpost.

Adora got back in the ring and stood at attention while the ref started his count. Velvet staggered her way back to the apron and got back in the ring just in time. Adora pounced on her with strikes and stomps.

Adora picked up Velvet and wrapped her up in an octopus-style stretch. Velvet tried to escape, but Adora kept control and threw some kicks into her back. Adora did her splits-stretch, bending Velvet over in two. She rolled her back, but Velvet kicked out at two.

Adora clubbed her back to the mat for a quick cover, but Velvet kicked out. Adora threw some body shots in the corner and started talking trash while Velvet fell to the first rope for XO to choke.

Velvet finally started fighting back, throwing strikes at Adora, but it was over quick as Adora bent her in half with a backbreaker. Adora tried to pick up Velvet, but she hit a crossbody counter and fell on Adora for a two count.

Velvet started kicking out of covers at one to prove she still had something left in the tank. Velvet started throwing bombs and countered a waistlock into a DDT. She sent Adora to the corner for some punches. Adora clung to the second rope and Velvet hit a meterora on her.

XO got up on the apron to give Adora chance to load up Lariat Tubman, but Velvet saw it coming and countered with a spinning kick. Adora picked her up for a running power slam, but Velvet countered it into a stunner of all things.

Velvet came off the ropes right into a big boot from Adora who went for the cover, but Velvet kicked out at two. Adora got Velvet up in a staaaaaaaalling suplex, but on the way down, Velvet counterd it into a rollup and then Mama’s Kitchen.

XO distracted the ref again who missed the cover. So Velvet punched XO in the face about it. Adora grabbed her for a running slam, but Velvet kicked out at two. She loaded up Lariat Tubman, but Velvet dodged it and rolled her up for a 1-2-3 to retain the title.

Match Result: Red Velvet defeated Trish Adora

After the match, XO got in the ring and hit a back body drop on Velvet. She and Adora stomped her until who should arrive with a chair, but Zayda Steel. Steel ran off Adora and XO and helped Velvet to her feet. Velvet grabbed a mic and demanded the music be cut.

She thanked Adora for having the balls to step into the ring with her. She then challenged them to a tag match against her and Steel, but used the word “bi*ch” a lot more. Steel grabbed the mic next and repeated what Velvet said, but using the phrase “y’all” about 17 times.

Velvet and Steel then exited the ring and Adora and XO escaped out the entrance.

ROH Women’s World Title Match: Athena (c) vs Maya World

World earned this match a couple of weeks ago by lasting the the 10-minute time limit in a Proving Ground match, a rare thing in the world of the 1200+ day ROH Women’s World Champion. In fact, Athena had never lost or gone to a draw in the Proving Ground up to that point.

The bell rang after World refused the Code of honor. The two trade armdrags and then had a reset. World came in swinging, punching Athena then hitting a tilt-o-while back breaker before going for the cover. Athena kicked out a rolled out of the ring.

World followed her and chopped her against the ring apron (the choppiest part of the ring!). Athena came back through and went to throw World into the stairs. World reversed it though, sending Athena shoulder-first into the steps.

The two fought on the outside with Athena flapjacking World onto the steel steps. Athena threw her back into the ring and laid some kicks into the back of World’s head. Athena laid World out in the corner with elbows, yelling at the ref when he tried to break it up.

World started punching Athena in the midsection before dropping her with a chinbreaker. Athena came back with a shotgun dropkick and flipping punch in the corner. She suplexed World and went for the cover, getting only a two count.

Athena started throwing knees into World’s ribs, trying to knock the wind out of her. World got back up though just in time for Athena to throw her back down. World countered a full nelson and threw Athena into the corner. Athena went for another shotgun dropkick, but World stomped her out of mid air.

World picked up momentum culminating in a German suplex and two count. World came off the second rope, right into Athena’s knees. Athena then sent her out of the ring with a baseball slide. World managed to get back in at the ref’s count of 9 and Athena immediately put on the Koji Clutch.

World managed to reach the ropes with her foot to break the hold, but Athena did not let up, throwing slaps and talking trash. World threw her against the ropes, diving her knee into her stomach. Athena came off the ropes with a big kick, sending World to the outside.

Athena went for a dive, but World was waiting and punched her. She went for a piledriver on the apron, but Athena got out of it and countered with a suplex off the apron to the floor.

Athena made it back into the ring first, but World seemed out cold. The ref got to 15 (the standard ROH count is to 20) before she stirred and finally made it in at 19. Athena looked shocked and started throwing forearms. World came back with one of her own and the two traded shots.

They got to their feet and World connected with a kick. Athena tried for a suplex, but World countered. They traded pinning combinations until Athena hit a stomp from behind for a two count. A frustrated Athena screamed into the void.

Athena went up top for the O Face, but World dodged and hit a hurricanrana and then a dropkick. World went up top to try an O Face of her own, but Billie Starkz arried and pulled her off the turnbuckle. World took out an arriving Diamante and Hyan arrived to take out Starkz.

Back in the ring, World shot Athena off the ropes and Athena dove through on the recoil and took out Hyan. She got back in the ring and threw a knee to World’s head before hitting a destroyer for a two count. Athena looked stunned.

Athena slapped World repeatedly. She went for a spingboard, but World caught her in a twisting sunset bomb. World went for a modified Samoan drop, but Athena kicked out at two. World went up top and tried and O Face, but Athena blocked it, sending her to the mat.

Furious that World tried to use her move, Athena rained down punches and kicks. Athena hit a pump handle pile driver, but World kicked out. Athena demanded that the ref count to three and then picked up World, tossing her out of the ring.

Hyan showed up again and stopped Athena from sending World into the steps. Starkz came back and threw Hyan into the ring to stomp her with some big platform shoes. Diamante slipped Athena the title belt and she decked World with it.

Athena then went up and hit the O-Face, made the cover and won the match to retain the ROH Women’s World Championship.

Match Result: Athena defeated Maya World

After the match, Diamante put a fujiwara on World, wrenching her arm. MiT then celebrated in the ring as the show went off the air.

****************

On this the 26th day of the second month of the year of our Lord 2026, it’s going to be really fun to see how ROH fits 40lbs of matches into a 10lb bag. Two title matchs, a proving ground match, 8 man and 6 man tags, it’s going to be a good night for fight’s and tights!

The show kicked off with the Infantry, Trish Adora and Tall Lady Who’s Name I Forget talking about how great Adora is going to do in her match tonight against Deonna Purrazzo. Adora said that Purrazzo has be lucky up until now and her luck ends tonight.

JD Drake vs Adam Priest

I swear if you had asked me if this match had already aired on ROH, I’d have to say yes. However, I’d be wrong, so tonight we get to see these two powerhouses face off.

Drake actually called out Priest two weeks ago, and as the match started Drake over powered Priest, throwing him to the mat twice and then no-selling a chop. Drake knocked Priest down every time he got back up, clearly in control in the early going.

Priest managed to get a spinning kick in, sending Drake out of the ring. Priest dropkicked him through the ropes, but Drake came back and dropped a hammer across the skull of Priest. He threw him back in the ring and crushed him with a senton.

Drake hit a drop-down head butt and Priest came up swinging. Priest tried a sunset flip, but Drake turned it into a leg drop over Priest’s throat. Drake manhandled Priest, sending him to the corner and choking him on the ropes.

Priest came back with some chops, but Drake dodged it. Priest tried another sunset, but Drake countered again with a leg drop. This time though, Priest got out from underneath, causing Drake to hurt his butt, I guess.

Either way, that changed the momentum and Priest was able to get a satellite DDT in for a two count. Priest went back up top, but Drake shoved the ref into the ropes to knock him off. Drake went up for a superplex, but Priest countered it into a sunset bomb for another two count.

Priest went for suplex, but Drake countered witha shining wizard followed by a lariat to the ear. Drake started screaming for Priest to “stay down!” but I don’t think Priest heard him because he rolled up Drake and stole the win.

Match Result: Adam Priest defeated JD Drake

TMDK (Bad Dude Tito & Shane Haste) vs The Frat House (Cole Karter & Griff Garrison) w/ Jacked Jameson and Preston Vance

I’ve never been happier to see TMDK because it meant that most if not all of the Frat House were about to get punched in the face.

Garrison and Karter jumped Tito off the bell and double teamed him with some fast tags. Karter hoisted him up on his shoulders and Garrison came off the ropes with a a dropkick. Tito started fighting back though, chopping both Fratters until Garrison kicked him in the gut. He then launched both men across the ring with a double underhook suplex.

Haste tagged in and made short work of Karter with the highest cannonball in the corner I’ve ever seen. Karter came back with an elbow, but Haste countered with a falcon arrow. Tito tagged back in and he and Garrison fought until Tito suplexed him across the ring.

Garrison slid out, so Tito dove after him, taking out the frat house. In the ring Haste hit a spinning slam on Karter and that was it. TMDK gets the win.

Match Result: TMDK defeated The Frat House

ROH Women’s World Television Title Match: Red Velvet (c) vs Zayda Steel

Steel has been touted as a blue chipper, but to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever seen her win a match. Hanging out with Christopher Daniels should change that though.

The two locked up off the top, with Steel holding her own against Velvet. She grabbed a wasitlock, but Velvet reversed it into a headlock. Steel reversed that, and then dropped Velvet with a shoulder block.

Steel came off the ropes and Velvet took her down with an armdrag into an arm bar. Steel sent Velvet into the corner and tried to get her with a backslide, but Velvet kicked out at two. Steel rolled her up again, but only got a two count.

They locked up and rolled around the ring, pinning combinations going back and forth untl Steel begged off. Velvet knocked her down with a big scissor kick and tried a cover for a two count.

Steel caught Velvet with a lungblower off the ropes followed by a code breaker. The two traded shots in the corners with Velvet getting a big knee, then Steel responding with one of her own. Velvet caught her though and hit a powerbomb for a two count.

Steel hit a heel kick to the head, knocking Velvet to the mat. Steel dragged her to the corner, but Velvet came back with a power bomb of sorts. Steel hoisted Velvet up for a swinging slam, but could only get a two count.

Velvet started throwing hands and then a spinning kick to the face. Steel slumped over and Velvet grabbed the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Red Velvet defeated Zayda Steel

-TMDK cut a promo in the back about how they are back in ROH. The Infantry showed up and called them “fartsniffers” before all of Shane Taylor Promotions jumped them. Shane Taylor told TMDK to tell Robbie Eagles that talking trash online gets people hurt. Then they left.

Eight Man Tag Team Match: Big Bill, Bryan Keith & Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) (w/Isla Dawn) vs Che Cabrera, CJ Tino, Dom Kubrick & Richie Slade

Every time I see Big Bill and what great shape he’s in these days I can’t help but wonder why he’s not a bigger deal in the AEW/ROH universe.

Anyway, Keith started off against Slade, throwing his poncho on him to get the advantage. Keith hit a big boot tot he face and Kubrick tagged in. Drake caught a tag from Keith and came in to trade blows with Kubrick. Drake eventually knocked him down and Gibson came in so they could double team him.

Gibson threw some stiff forearms in the corner, and Cabrera tagged in. Big Bill took a tag from Gibson and Cabrera started throwing elbows. Bill no-sold them and then knocked him down with a lariat followed by a splash in the corner.

Bill tagged Gibson back in and Cabrera caught him with a chinbreaker. Cabrera tagged in Tino, who tagged in Kubrick. Drake and Gibson took him out easily with a double team. Bill and Keith came in and threw tandem big boots at Kubrick. Bill made the pin and that was it.

Match Result: Big Bill, Bryan Keith & Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Che Cabrera, CJ Tino, Dom Kubrick & Richie Slade

After the match, Drake handed Bill a stack of cash, insinuating that they were mercenaries for the Vets. Suddenly, Sky Flight arrived for their six-man match. They stared down the Vets, Bill and Keith as they made their way to the ring.

Six Man Tag Team Match: SkyFlight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Scorpio Sky) vs Los Suavecitos (Adrian Quest, Danny Rose & Ricky Gee)

Los Suavecitos looked like what would happen if you split TJ Perkins into the three people and called them a team.

Sky started off against Quest, who kicked away the Code of Honor. Sky got a wristlock, but Quest reversed it quickly. Sky got out of it and came of the ropes for the two to trade arm drags. Quest went for a back drop, but Sky double stomped him instead. Dante tagged in and brought Darius with him.

They double teamed Quest with Darius arm dragging him face first tot he mat. Quest resorted to hair pulling and Gee and Rose came in to help him triple team Darius. Rose tried a headlock, but Darius just stood up. Gee tagged in and hit a sunset bomb for a two count.

Darius got a hot tag to Dante who cleared the ring, hitting a springboard dropkick on Gee. Gee charged into the corner, but Dante dodged it and hit a splash from up top. Quest and Rose came in, but Sky cut them off with a double clothesline.

Sky threw Quest into the corner for a three-way double knee from all members of Sky Flight. Sky hit a spinebuster on Rose and Darius used the ropes to slingshot Rose into a cutter from Dante. Presumably, those two were legal a Dante made the pin and got the win for his team.

Match Result: SkyFlight defeated Los Suavecitos

Jay Lethal vs Tommy Billington

I don’t think it’s a legal requirement, but when goes an Adam Priest goes a Tommy Billington!

Lethal sucker-kicked Billington off the top and sent him off the ropes. Billington came back with a scoop slam and then a missile dropkick to regain control. Lethal rolled out of the ring and Billington dove after him. He threw Lethal back into the ring and hit a back body drop for a near fall.

The two fought over top of the ropes with Lethal coming out on top and suplexing him on the ring apron (the Billingtonest part of the ring!). Lethal then dropped Billington from the apron with. DDT and rolled back in the ring. Billington did the same to beat the count.

Billington started throwing chops, driving Lethal into the corner. Lethal countered with a suplex and set Billington into the corner for a chop or two of his own. Lethal began dropping elbows on Billington’s knee, trying to take out his high flying ability.

Lethal locked in a figure four and Billington dragged them both to the ropes to break the hold. Lethal went up top, but before he could do anything, Billington rolled away. Billington rolled from corner to corner avoiding Lethal’s attacks from the top turnbuckle until he scrambled up and caught him in a superplex.

They started throwing forearms in the center of the ring. Lethal hit a Lethal Combination and went up top to hit an elbow, but Billington caught him in a crossface in the center of the ring. Suddenly, Lee Johnson and Blake Christian arrived to cause a distraction. That let Lethal hit a Lethal Injection and pick up the win.

Match Result: Jay Lethal defeated Tommy Billington

Satnam Singh vs Jordan Oasis

(sigh) The “one in a billion” Singh came to the ring to do that “one in one” match he does.

The bell rang. Oasis ran at Singh, and he pushed him over. Then Oasis ran at Singh again and he pushed him over. Again. Throw. Choke. Oasis got a forearm in. Singh pinched Oasis’ traps.

Singh put Oasis in the corner. Chop. Chop. Oasis then surprsingly managed to get Singh off his feet with some kicks, but that didn’t last long.

Oasis threw some punches and then Singh hit a chokeslam.

The end. #LOLSinghwins.

Match Result: Satnam Singh defeated Jordan Oasis

-In the back, ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo cut a promo about how Adora isn’t “pure” because she relies on STP’s help. But she won’t be able to do that in their match tonight.

Persephone vs Johnnie Robbie

Persephone is 4-0 in ROH and Robbie is a very good Diamante cosplayer.

They locked up off the top and Robbie forced Persephone to the ropes. Off those ropes, Robbie caught Persephone with an arm drag. Persephone then fell victim to a hurricanrana, but came back with a double stomp off of a rollup attempt by Robbie.

Persephone sent Robbie to the corner and threw kicks into her gut. She kicked her in the back a bunch and then drove her boot into Robbie’s head before sending her across the ring ith a judo flip.

Persephone got vicious then, fish hooking Robbie then paintbrushing her. That gave Robbie an opening for an uppercut, but Persephone shoved her back into the corner for more stomps. Persephone hit a back elbow then put on a sleeper.

Robbie stood up and threw some elbows into Persephone’s gut, but Persephone came back with a head butt. Robbie connected with a clothesline, but only got a two count. Robbie went for a knee, but Persephone blocked it. She set up Robbie for a power bomb, but Robbie blocked it.

Robbie went up top and hit a crossbody from the top turnbuckle. The comeback was short lived though as Persephone came back and hit a Crucifix Bomb to get the 1-2-3.

Match Result: Persephone defeated Johnnie Robbie

Komander vs Tony Nese (w/Ariya Daivari, Mark Sterling & Stori Denali)

Nese has pledged to rid ROH of Luchadores, but given the sheer amount of Luchadores in ROH, he’s not very good at it. Mark Sterling ran down the crowd, calling for Lucha Libra to be weeded out of ROH.

Nese insisted on a Code of Honor and they tied up. Nese drove Komander into the corner, giving him a good look at his chiseled bicep. Nese hit a back elbow and sent Komander off the ropes. Komander came out of it taking Nese down with an armdrag.

Komander started peppering Nese with body shots, whipping him out of the corner. Nese slid out and Komander hit him with a suicide dive. Sterling started jawing at Komander who went back to hammering on Nese, working his arm.

Nese tried to escape through the crowd, but Komander dragged him back and threw him in the ring. Nese caused a distraction allowing Sterling to stomp Komander. Daivari threw Komander back into the ring where Nese grabbed him an a waistlock.

Komander went for a suplex, but Nese countered it unto a double stomp, followed by a body scissor. Nese held Komander down and threw some forearms at his face. Komander got out of the hold and backed Nese into the corner. Nese wouldn’t let go though and threw Komander into the turnbuckle. He charged, but Komander dodged it.

Komander threw a flurry of kicks and countered a suplex attempt from Nese. Komander planted him with a DDT, but could only get a two count out of it. Komander hit a standing moonsault for another two and then went for a springboard, but Nese got his knees up to block it.

Nese landed a kick to Komander’s head, but only got a two count. Nese set him up for a pump handle, but Komander countered it into a headscissor takedown. Komander hit a DDT off the ropes and went up top. He hit a flipping slam from the top rope and got the pin on Nese to win the match.

Match Result: Komander defeated Tony Nese

ROH World Television Title Proving Ground Match: Nick Wayne (w/Kip Sabian & Mother Wayne) [c] vs Lucas Riley

Wayne is back in ROH for the first time since August. Kip Sabian is back from 1992.

Wayne had some cool nu-metal pants on, which may have helped him snapmare Reily off the top. Riley went for a wristlock, but Wayne countered by throwing him across the ring. Riley hit a headscissor and threw some big elbows in the corner, but Wayne blocked a suplex and threw him back into the corner head first.

Wayne threw some chops and dropped some legs, looking to put Riley away fast. Riley hit a Michinoku Driver out of nowhere and went up top for a swanton. Wayne got the knees up though and hit a dragon suplex for a two count.

Wayne whiffed a kick and Riley rolled him up for a quick two. Riley hit a Casadora, but went too fast an Wayne knocked him right the heck out with a kick to end his proving ground dreams.

Match Result: Nick Wayne defeated Lucas Riley

ROH Women’s Pure Title Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Trish Adora

Purrazzo and Adora entered into an extended feeling out process, going back and forth until Adora accidentally used her first rope break at 57:37.

Adora got Purrazzo up into an Air Raid Crash position, stretching her in the center of the ring. Adora dropped her to the wring, working the wrist. Adora went to the shoulder next, driving down onto it, wrenching Purrazzo into a two count.

Adora threw her glutes at Purrazzo in the corner and then dragged her to her feet to throw some forearms. Purrazzo fought back, and came off the ropes with a clothesline. Purrazzo locked on a fujiwara forcing Adora to use her second rope break at 53:37.

Adora tried to go back to the arm, snapping it down and going for a german. Purrazzo countered it, but Adora got a bridge suplex on for a two count. Adora put Purrazzo on hher shoulders, but Purrazzo countered it into a powerbomb.

Adora took control and landed a Lariat Tubman, but didn’t have the power behind it to get Purrazzo for good. Adora went for a second one, but Purrazzo ducked it and brought her to the mat with a drop toe hold. She locked on the Fujiwara again and wrenched Adora until she had no choice but to tap out.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Trish Adora

After the match Diamante and Billie Starkz showed up and attacked Purrazzo. Adora reluctantly joined in, and the three stomped the Pure Champion in the center of the ring. Then Billie Starkz’ music played to end the segment for some reason.

In a patented MCU after-credits scene, ROH Women’s Champion Athena cut a promo about how she hates that Purrazzo is the Pure Champion. Her minions (Starkz and Diamante) are far more worthy. Then she turned her attention to Maya World, claiming she embarrassed her at MPX vs ROH Global Wars. Athena offered her a proving ground match so she could teach her a lesson and the show ended.

***************

G’day mates! Welcome to a ripper of a show from down unda! Let’s not be clucky about these fair dinkum awesome matches as we watch some boomer blokes take on some dodgy drongos!

Hopefully none of that was too offensive. If it was, I’ll defo get nicked.

Tonight’s Ring of Honor has about 10 lbs of wrestling in it’s 5 lb bag, so let’s get into it!

Zayda Steel (w/Christopher Daniels) vs Johnnie Robbie

So, ROH is making a liar out of me right out of the gate as this match was taped in Ontario, California, the second coolest Ontario in North America.

Steel and Robbie came out swinging, delivering a kick and a slap repsectively right off the bell. Steel used a headscissor to send Robbie to the corner, but Robbie fought out and right into a back elbow followed by a stunner.

Steel went off the ropes, but Robbie bailed to the outside, luring Steel to the apron where she kicked her in the face. Back in the ring, Robbie threw some chops and a couple of high kicks before suplexing Steel for a two count.

Robbie locked in a Camel Clutch, bending Steel in half before clubbing her with some forearms. Steel started to fight back, throwing elbows at Robbie’s jaw. Steel hit Robbie with a big move that was so fast I barely saw it and that was it, Steel made the pin 1-2-3.

Match Result: Zayda Steel defeated Johnnie Robbie

Six Man Tag Team Match: SkyFlight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Scorpio Sky) (w/Christopher Daniels & Zayda Steel) vs Che Cabrera & TMDK (Bad Dude Tito & Shane Haste)

Steel and Daniels ran to the back after Steel’s match to accompany Skyflight to the ring, which was nice for continuity.

Darius and Haste started things off with both bruisers getting in some hard strikes. Darius tagged in Sky who grabbed a wristlock that Haste reversed, sending Sky to the outside where Cabrera ran him over. Tito and Cabrera stomped him before throwing him back into the ring.

Haste tagged in Cabrera who threw some elbows as they got together for a double team ending in a backbreaker from Cabrera. Haste tagged back in and hit a cannonball, isolating Sky from his team. Sky managed to roll through and tag in Dante.

Dante used his high flying abilities to dropkick Haste and dodge his attacks. He hit a crossbody on Haste for a two count, but Haste came back with a drop kick and a tag to Tito. Darius tagged in and he and Sky threw shoulders and knees at Tito in the corner.

Darius hit a satellite DDT, but Haste broke up the pin. Dante and Darius threw Haste out and then hit a stereo dive on him and Cabrera on the outside. Sky wanted to join the fun, but Tito cut him off so Sky (apparently legal now) hit a cutter and got the pin to pick up the victory.

Match Result: SkyFlight defeated Che Cabrera & TMDK

Mark Davis vs The Tuckman

The Tuckman won the Gold Medal for Mullets in this match, while Davis picked up Silver in the Looking Like Curtis Axel event.

When the match started though, it was fast and hard hitting. The both threw strikes until Tukman got a head lock. Davis got out of it and knocked him down off the ropes. Davis started throwing chops that sent Tuckman to the mat repeatedly.

Tuckman ducked the last one and tried to get Davis up for a slam, but Davis countered and went for a senton. Tuckman moved and tried to pick him up again, but Davis was too much for him and he got squished.

Davis took over from there, stomping Tuckman in the corner. Tuckman picked up some momentum, sending Davis out of the ring with a dropkick. Tuckman sailed through the ropes onto him and Davis escaped back into the ring.

Tuckman went for a sunset flip, but Davis dropped down on him. Tuckman came back and finally landed that scoop slam. He went up top for a springboard cutter and nailed it, but Davis kicked out at two. Tuckman went off the top turnbuckle, but Davis met him with a superkick.

He laid out Tuckman with a “thunderstruck” lariat and that was it. Davis made the pin and got the victory.

Match Result: Mark Davis defeated The Tuckman

Sisters Of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs Aysha & Frankie B

Frankie and Blue started things off with an extended feeling out process, before locking up with Blue falling victim to a headlock. Blue countered into a headscissor and Frankie countered that by… standing up.

Frankie took over, throwing Blue around until she was able to tag in Hart. Aysha tagged in as well and Hart knocked her head against the mat. Hart charged Aysha in the corner, but Aysha moved and went for a bulldog. Hart countered before she could hit it, but Aysha came back with a shining wizard.

Frankie came in for a double team, but Blue broke up the count. Hart and Frankie fought in the ring, with Blue grabbing her ankle from the outside. That let Hart get some momentum with a standing moonsault. Hart hit a DDT and threw Frankie into the corner. Hart got her in a tarantula around the ropes and Blue dropkicked her in the gut.

Blue and Frankie exchanged blows and ended up falling victim to the simultaneous clothesline. Both crawled over and tagged in their partners, with Aysha throwing lariats at Hart and Blue. Aysha hit a lungblower on Hart, but only got a two count.

Hart cut off a double team, sending Aysha to the outside. She tagged in Blue and they hit a flapjack on Frankie, but could only get a two count. That gave Aysha a chance to come back in and let Frankie spear Hart. She then suplexed Blue into the corner.

Frankie went for a cannonball, but Blue countered and threw superkicks at her and Aysha. All four started brawling until Frankie was sent out of the ring and Blue hit a superkick on Aysha. Blue hit a swinging side slam assisted by Hart and then Hart pinned Aysha.

Match Result: Sisters Of Sin defeated Aysha & Frankie B

Six Man Tag Team Match: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs North Shore Wrestling (Jack Osborne, Sam Osborne & Will Kiedis)

Castle and The Outrunners entered with their patented brand of delightfull weirdness, while Ian Riccaboni informed us that his mom has a cockatoo that he’s always wanted to talk to.

I love wresting.

Kiedis and Magnum started things off with Magnum grabbing a quick headlock. He shot Kiedis off the ropes and then the posing began. That led to Kiedis getting a big ol’ Outrunner mitt to the chest and Floyd tagged in. He hit a spinning dop slam and one of the Osbornes tagged in (we’ll say Jack).

Jack tagged Kiedis back in who started chopping the isolated Magnum. Magnum came back though, taking out Kiedis and both Osbornes. Same tagged in and managed to wrangle Magnum back to the corner for a double team with his brother.

Jack then knocked Castle off the apron, which was not a good idea. Floyd tagged in took out everyone in brown pants with powerslams and then got together with Magnum for a bulldog/clothesline combo. They started hulking up for the double elbow, but Sam broke it up.

Magnum and Castle were knocked off the apron, leaving Floyd to get triple teamed. Kiedis hit a splash off the top turnbuckle, but Floyd got a tag to the refreshed Castle who started spamming suplexes on everyone.

He got Kiedis up on his shoulders, but the Osbornes came back and a brawl broke out, ending with a triple team on Castle. Sam hit a backbreaker, but before Jack could hit a slam, the Outrunners saved the day. Castle and The Outrunners hit a triple slam so that the Outrunners could double elbow Kiedis. Castle made the pin and that was it.

Match Result: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners defeated Jack Osborne, Sam Osborne & Will Kiedis

Mina Shirakawa vs Charli Evans

Shirakawa was fresh off of giving Wheeler Yuta a much needed haircut and set out to take down wrestler/skateboarder Evans.

The two locked up with Shirakawa losing the wristlock battle. She managed to counter with a few flips, but Evans hit a waistlock take down and the two posed for a few seconds. Unfortunately, Evans used that to kick Shirakawa in the back, which angered her.

Shirakawa came out with a dropkick and sent Evans to the corner. Evans dodged the attack and hita. high knee for a two count. Evans started throwing punches and Shirakawa threw them right back until Evans stomped her into the corner.

Evans came off the ropes with crossbody slam onto the ropes, but Shirakawa kicked out at two. Evans delivered a throat punch and a few chops, but Shirakawa came back with a satellite DDT. Shirakawa threw some elbows into a sling blade, but Evans kicked out.

Shirakawa lured Evans to the ropes, where she grabbed her leg and then hit a barrel roll dive. Shirakawa started working the knee of Evans, driving it into the mat. She tried to get the figure four on, but Evans fought out before she could lock it in.

Evans tried to steal one, but Shirakawa rolled through into a knee tot he face. Evans hit a fisherwoman’s suplex, but came up clutching her knee. She went for another running knee, but Shirakawa saw it and countered with the figure four in the middle of the ring. Evans rolled over to the ropes to break the hold, but the damage was done to her knee.

Shirakawa hit a missile dropkick and then a sling blade form the top turnbuckle. She called for the brainbuster and scooped Evans up. Evans got out of it though and sent Shirakawa off the ropes. Shirakawa exploded off them with a back fist and then hoisted her up for a Glamorous Driver to get the pin.

Match Result: Mina Shirakawa defeated Charli Evans

Robbie Eagles vs Shawn Dean

Eagles is one half of the IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions, and Dean is one third of the ROH Six Man Tag Champions. So, based on my daughter’s 5th grade math text book, if we make the denominators common, they are 5/6ths of a champion. I think.

Anyway, Dean, in a rare singles match, drove Eagles to the ropes off the bell. Eagles tried to be alittle silly, but Dean was having none of it. Eagles hit a headscissor takedown to try and lighten him up. He followed that with a spinning heel kick.

Dean fought back, slowing the pace of the match and sending Eagles to the corner for a BBC. Eagles choked on the “Bronco Bust Captain” as Coleman called it and Dean put on a chinlock. Coleman and Riccabonni debated slang while Dean hit a leaping elbow on Eagles.

Dean covertly fishhooked Eagles until Eagles started throwing elbows into his gut. Dean responded by throwing Eagles into the corner. He hit a high back elbow and went for a second BBC, but Eagles slipped out of the ring and the BBC got crushed in the corner.

Eagles hit a spingboard shot to Dean’s knee, trying to keep him on the mat. Eagles peppered Dean with kicks before a shining wizard off the ropes for a two count. Eagles kept pressure on Dean’s knee, but Dean shoved him into the corner and went for a bulldog. Eagles countered though and hit a 619 onto Dean’s knees.

Eagles went up top, but Dean scrambled up and went for a superplex while the crowd chanted “you are a wanker.” Eagles threw Dean off and hit a 450 onto his knee. He stepped through into a modified STFU, and Dean was forced to tap out.

Match Result: Robbie Eagles defeated Shawn Dean

***************

It’s 7pm EST, my fried egg sandwiches were a hit with the two tiny yet extremely harsh food critics who live in my house and it’s time for some good ol’ fashioned fights on Ring of Honor!

ROH World Tag Team Title Match: La Faccion Ingobernable (Sammy Guevara & The Beast Mortos) (c) vs Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) (w/Christopher Daniels)

Kicking things off is what promised to be a great tag match. Top Flight want the titles and Guevara and Mortos (and Rush and Dustin Rhodes) have held them for 530+ days combined.

Mortos and Dante kicked things off with Mortos blowing snot onto Dante’s hand during the Code of Honor. Gross.

Mortos charged Dante, but he leapt over, coming back with a high knee to the jaw that seemed to upset Mortos. Dante hit a spinning kick and threw hands at Mortos who came off the ropes with a shoulder block.

Darius and Guevara tagged in and Guevera immediately started mugging with the crowd and tagged Mortos back in. Then Guevara decided that the crowd wanted him so he tagged back in. They tried for a third time, but Darius had had enough and dropkicked Guevara.

Guevara came back with a headlock takedown and then sent Darious out of the ring with a missile dropkick. Christopher Daniels gave Darius some words of encouragement and he got back in and tagged in Dante. They combined for a series of uppercuts, atomic drops and shoulder tackles on Guevara.

Guevara tried to escape to the outside and Dante hit him in the head every time he tried to get back in. Dante went to leap off the ropes, but Mortos distracted him and Guevara was able to sneak up from behind and lay Dante out.

Mortos tagged in and threw hands at the stunned Dante. He got a wristlock on and then tagged in Guevara for an axehandle off the top turnbuckle. Guevara beat up on Dante, isolating him in the corner so Mortos could lay him out in the center of the ring.

Dante fought back with a DDT and made a tag to Darius. Darious came in at the same time as Guevara and met him feet first. Darious hit a spanish fly on Guevara then took out Mortos on the apron. Mortos stormed back with a sling blade on Darious. Dante came in and Darious used him as leverage to hit a sattellit DDT on Mortos.

While Guevara knocked Dante out on the outside of the ring, Mortos hit a samoan drop on Darius and got the pin to retain the titles.

Match Result: La Faccion Ingobernable defeated Top Flight

Backstage, Jay Lethal addressed ROH World Champion Bandido while holding his stolen mask. He was just getting in to how Bandido’s days are numbered when Tommy Billington teleported into the scene and challenged Lethal to a match.

Six Man Tag Team Match: Michael Oku & The Von Erichs (Marshall von Erich & Ross von Erich) (w/Amira & Kevin von Erich) vs Oday, OXP & Timur The Great

No disrespect to Micheal Oku, but why does ROH continually think that the Von Erichs need more partners? Do they think the Von Erich thing only works in fours (Yes, I’m counting Kevin)? At any rate, this match against <gestures vaguely> these guys, looked to be a fun one.

Oku and OXP kicked things off with Oku landing a headscissor takedown. OXP didn’t seem to know what to do so he tagged in Oday and Ross came in with a high kick. Marshall followed and the two hit stereo splashes in the corner. Marshall hit a standing shooting star press and Oday tagged in Timur.

Timur didn’t last long though as the Von Erichs and Oku threw their opponents to the outside so Oku could dive on them. Marshall and Ross locked Iron Claws on OXP and Oday, while Oku put Timur in a boston crab. Somewhere in there, someone gave up or was pinned and the Von Erichs and Oku won.

Match Result: Michael Oku & The Von Erichs defeated Oday, OXP & Timur The Great

Persephone vs Julissa Mexa

Persephone seems primed to take her place atop the Women’s Division in AEW so it was fun to see her back in ROH for a few minutes.

The two locked up off the top with Mexa grabbing a waistlock that Persephone reversed. Mexa tried a couple of armdrags before doing an impression of the Bella twins. That opened things up for Persephone to take her down.

Mexa responded with a high crossbody, but when she went for a second, Persephone caught her and slammed her into the turnbuckles. She hit a big dropkick for a two count, with Mesa kicking right out.

Persephone then fishhooked Mexa, before throwing some punches. She gave the ref some great side-eye for not counting to three. Mexa was still dazed, so Persephone set her up for Shattered Dreams for some reason, then hit a dropdown on her in the corner.

Persephone in complete control stepped on Mexa’s neck over the ropes and then put on a headlock. Mexa started powering up, but Persephone put an end to that with a punch. Mexa scoop slammed her then hit a kick in the corner before scrambling up the ringpost for a missile dropkick.

The two started trading forearms and elbows until Persephone hit a bridging suplex for a two count. Mexa got back up and hit a pumphandle dragon suplex, but Persehone would’t go down. She hit a spear on Mexa out of nowhere and then dropped her with a crucifix bomb to get the pin and victory.

Match Result: Persephone defeated Julissa Mexa

Six Man Tag Team Match: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs KM, Nathan Cruz & Rosario Grillo

Look, this match was always going to be awesome. Castle and the Ourtunners are three great tastes that taste great together. If they aren’t the #1 contenders to Shane Taylor Promotions’ Six Man Titles, I can’t think of a good reason why.

But this match was a crowd-pleasing six person squash from the start. They played all the greatest hits, quick tags, double elbows and power ups from Magnum and Floyd, killer suplexes and Bangarang from Castle. It was fun to watch, but was over before I could finish typing this sentence.

Match Result: Dalton Castle & The Outrunners defeated KM, Nathan Cruz & Rosario Grillo

Backstage, JD Drake called out Adam Priest. Drake said that he’s the reason people know who Priest is and the next time he see’s him, he’s going to beat the piss out of him. Because Priest pissed him off. Piss.

Lance Archer vs Will Allday

You may remember Lance Archer from the other 35 times he’s had this match.

So, like he does, Archer came to the ring, threw Allday at the ground a bunch using big chops, chokeslams and the Razor’s Edge/blackout thing, and won the match.

Allday got in a kick to Archer’s knee, but as with all Archer matches, it didn’t really matter.

Match Result: Lance Archer defeated Will Allday

Eight Man Tag Team Match: ROH World Champion Bandido, Komander, Mascara Dorada & Xelhua vs The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson) & The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) (w/Mark Sterling & Stori Denali)

Last week, Johnson seemed to have a big interest in if Stori Denali would be joining the Athletic Swirl at ringside, so it’ll be interesting to see if something develops there. Sterling ran down Luchardores as “criminals who have to wear masks” and declared this the “last Lucha match ever in Ring of Honor.” I don’t know if he has that kind of authority, but we’ll see.

The luchadores chose their starting fighter to be Xelhua and he started things off against Daivari. The two traded wristlocks until Xelhua shot Daivari off the ropes and hit an armdrag followed by a dropkick. Dorada tagged in and Daivari went for his mask right away. That allowed him to shove Dorada into the Athletic Swirl’s corner.

Nese tagged in and couldn’t get ahold of the fast moving Dorada, who took him down with a headscissor and then a spinning kick. Komander tagged in and Nese went for his mask before tagging in Johnson. Johnson had trouble catching Komander and just kinda let him run around the ring for a minute before trying a rollup for two.

Komander shoved Johnson, who shoved him back. Bandido and Christian tagged in and Bandido took Christian down with a headscissor The two started brawling, throwing punches until a dropkick from Bandido sent him staggering.

Komander tagged in and Johnson came in so that he and Christian could try a double team. That got them a double dropkick so the Athletes tried the same thing and got another double dropkick. That unleashed a brawl in which Bandido and Dorada got thrown out of the ring.

Nese tossed Xelhua out, leaving Komander to fend for himself against Christian. Things settled down and Christian tagged in Nese after choking Komander on the ropes. Johnson came in and started punching Komander, wearing down the luchadore.

Daivari tagged in and hit a snapmare with a knee to the back. He put Komander in a sleeper but no joy as Komander fought out of it and punched him in the gut. Daivari and Komander both went off the ropes into a double crossbody.

Komander got the hot tag to Bandido and Christian got one of his own as the two flew around the ring. Dorada tagged in and hit a tornado takedown on Nese. Xelhua tagged in and took out Johnson before Komander tagged back in to take on Daivari with a springboard headscissor takedown.

Team Lucha sent everyone to the outside and hit a combo dive on all four. Back in the ring, Bandido hit a 12-plex on Christian, but Christian landed on his feet. Story Denali came in and chokeslammed Bandido and Christian hit a springboard 450, but Dorada broke up the pin.

The brawl continued with Dorada and Nese fighting until Christian tagged back in to meet up with Xelhua who atomic dropped him. Komander hit a DDT on Johnson, then Daivari hit a lariat on Komander. Bandido came in and tried an X-Knee, but Daivari blocked it.

Bandido then hit a pip up cutter on Daivari while Komander, Xelhua and Dorada took out the Athletic Swirl on the outside. Bandido landed a 21-plex on Daivari and that was it! The luchadores get the win.

Match Result: Bandido, Komander, Mascara Dorada & Xelhua defeat The Swirl & The Premier Athletes

*************

Welcome in, friends as tonight the talented grapplers of Ring of Honor take on the biggest Transformer ever released, Metrople— Oh, wait, hang on. <checks notes> The talented grapplers of Ring of Honor take on the also talented grapplers of Metroplex Wrestling!

Yes, that makes more sense (in a disappointing way).

For those not in the know, Metroplex Wrestling was founded in 2010 by none other than ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena. She runs it out of Texas and some of it’s notable alumni include Tatum Manning, Man Man and Mr. Leggs. Billie Starkz, Shane Taylor and Diamante have all darkened Metroplex’s doors in appearances as well. So let’s see what they’ve got, shall we?

Mixed Eight Person Tag Team Match: Shane Taylor Promotions (Carlie Bravo, Shane Taylor, Shawn Dean & Trish Adora) (w/Anthony Ogogo & Christyan XO) vs Demo Diamond, Kari Jai Wright, LVJ & Reiza Clarke

And kick it off with a bang they did!

The MPX crew looked good headed down to the ring, but Shane Taylor Promotions is a tough group to face, no matter who you are.

Ogogo and XO headed to ringside and the bell rang with Bravo pie-facing Wright. He followed that up with a waistlock taikedown, but Wright managed a wristlock, keeping Bravo from bringing in backup from the corner. Wright caught Bravo with a shoulder tackle and then threw a clothesline in the corner.

Bravo reversed an Irish whip, but couldn’t get ahold of Wright, so he just punched him in the face. Dean tagged in Wright brought Dean over to the corner to bring in LVJ. Dean unloaded some chops on LVJ, but wasn’t able to keep him down.

LVJ strutted his stuff and hit a knee to the sternum. Adora tagged in and Clark joined her. Adora is a menacing figure, but Clark was just as intimidating. Clark landed a punch, but a spinning kick from Adora sent her into the corner and caught a blind tag.

Taylor tagged in and cleared the ring, but Dean landed a BBC in the corner on Wright. Wright got laid up on the ropes and XO gave him five fingers to the face. Taylor tagged back in and chopped Wright half to death, as he does.

Dean tagged back in and put a half crab on Wright who screamed in pain. Wright managed to kick him off and tag in Clark. Adora came in and the speed picked up with Clark clearing the STP corner and hitting running knees in the corner on Adora. She landed a side slam for a two count and then Adora countered into a suplex.

Clark returned the favour as the Infantry pulled Wright and Diamond down off the corner. Adora hit a Lariat Tubman and that was it. She pinned Clark for the victory.

Match Result: Shane Taylor Promotions defeated Demo Diamond, Kari Jai Wright, LVJ & Reiza Clarke

ROH Women’s TV Title Proving Ground Match: Red Velvet (c) vs VertVixen

The two locked up with Vixen getting the wristlock on first. Velvet flipped around and got on of her own on. So, Vixen flipped around, but Velvet stopped her short and put on a scissor lock. Vixen hit a shoulder tackle and elbow. She went for the cover but Velvet kicked out at one.

Velvet dodged a charge from Vixen in the corner and hit a bottom rope springboard for a two count. Vixen came off the ropes with a dropkick and pulled Velvet over with an armdrag into an armbar. Arms.

Velvet got out of it and landed a kick off the ropes. Velvet hit an armdrag of her own and went back to the short arm scissor lock. She transitioned it into a straightjacket hold, but Vixen dropped low and got out of it. Velvet seemed a little dazed, but not so much she couldn’t kick out of a rollup.

Vixen caught Velvet in the eye and sent her off the ropes for a big boot to the head. Velvet collapsed and Vixen scopped her up and put her in a tree of woe for some kicks. She put a point on it with a dropkick and went for a cover that Velvet kicked out of at two.

Vixen ran right into an elbow from Velvet who sent her to the corner. Vixen exploded out with a blut thunder bomb, but obviously didn’t get the pin. The two started trading hands, which is not something you want to do with a person like Velvet.

Velvet hit a bulldog and then took Vixen to Mama’s Kitchen to pick up the victory in the Proving Ground.

Match Result: Red Velvet defeated VertVixen

-Backstage, Christopher Daniels talked to the Martin Brothers of Top Flight. He said that the world has forgotten how good they are and they need to start issuing some challenges. Daniels then challenged Sammy Guevara and Beast Mortos, the current ROH Tag Champions. Dante called them an embarrassment and Darious said that they have been sleeping on Top Flight for too long and it’s time for them to wake up.

Big Bill & Bryan Keith vs Surf And Turf (Braddah Kaimi & Phil Shark)

Before you ask, yes. Phil Shark is a literal man in a shark suit. Or shark in a man suit. I love wrestling.

Shark started off against Keith and Keith didn’t even bother to take his poncho off until after the bell when he threw it on Shark, which is how professionals deal with rabid sharks I think.

Keith ripped Shark’s mask off much to the crowd’s dismay and Kaimi tagged in so they could hit a double team on Keith. Bill tagged in and Shark and Kaimi called for their signature move the “Harpoon” but Bill simply punched them to death.

Keith tagged back in to choke Kaimi and Bill pulled him through the ropes by the hair and laid some clubbing blows onto him. Keith dropped a knee in the ring but Kaimi kicked out at two. The crowd wanted Bill, but Keith said “nah” and hit a dropkick. He wrapped Kaimi up in a headlock until Kaimi managed to get out of it and get a hot tag to Shark.

Shark threw some clotheslines which knocked Keith over, but only mildy irritated Bill. They landed a Harpoon on Bill and then double standing Moonsaults on Keith. Kaimi dove through the ropes and got caught by Bill who choke slammed him on the ring apron (the sharkiest part of the ring!)

Keith headbutted Shark in the ring and then tagged in Bill for stereo big boots. Bill picked up Shark in a bear hug followed by a side slam and that was it. 1-2-3 and Bill and Keith get the win.

Match Result: Big Bill & Bryan Keith defeated Surf And Turf (Braddah Kaimi & Phil Shark)

MPX Women’s Title Match: Abadon (c) vs Ray Lyn

It was great to see Abadon back on ROH TV. Abadon had some great matches in the ROH ring, especially against Athena.

Lyn chest-bumped Abadon, not intimidated by them at all. Abadon let out a scream and sent her into the corner for some high knees. Abadon hit a hard suplex and unlike her previous persona, did a lot of jawing at the crowd.

Lyn grabbed their dreadlocks and threw them at the ground, hopping on top to deliver some strikes. Abadon got to their feet, but Lyn kept coming back with kicks. working the legs. She started dropping elbows on their knees and twisted Abadon’s ankle in repeated slams.

Abadon countered finally, grabbing an ankle lock. Lyn flipped them over and the two traded locks with Lyn getting Abadon into a Boston crab. Lyn raked the eyes and laid a kick into Abadon’s gut for a two count.

Abadon fought back with some strikes, but Lyn went back to the legs, slapping on a native American death lock. Abadon crawled to the ropes to break the hold.

Lyn charged right into an elbow from Abadon. Abadon threw a clothesline and then a spinning slam for a two count that seemed to surprise even her. Abadon went for a Sister Abigail-type move but their knee gave out and Lyn hit a pump kick. Abadon then countered into a flatliner and got the pin to retain the title.

Match Result: Abadon defeated Ray Lyn

ROH Pure Title Match: Lee Moriarty (c) vs Exodus Prime

Ok, so the promotion’s called “Metroplex” and they have a wrestler named Exodus Prime? You can’t tell me someone at MPX isn’t a big Transformers fan. If someone doesn’t turn into a truck in this match, I’ll be very upset.

The two shook hands and the clock started. Prime was pretty evenly matched against Moriarty in terms of size and speed, so the first lockup was a stalemate. Prime grabbed a wristlock and spun Moriarty around to cinch it in. Moriarty got out of it and slapped on an octopus, but Prime got to the ropes, using his first break at 8:47.

Moriarty thew Prime into the corner and hit a big chop on him. Prime reversed a whip thought and suplexed Moriarty. He then hit a spring board swanton and threw a few chops of his own. Moriarty dropped down off the ropes and delivered some knees to the gut.

Moriarty dragged Prime to the mat and put on a leg/headlock forcing Prime to use his second break at 6:02. Moriarty went for a butterfly slam, but Prime countered into an insiguri. He threw strikes in the corner including a big spinning uppercut.

Prime went for a full nelson, but Moriarty blocked it. Prime tried again and got the full nelson slam for a two count. Moriarty popped up with a rollthrough and Prime grabbed him in a pop up powerbomb. He then transitioned to a crab, forcing Moriarty to use his first break at 4:06.

Moriarty dig deep and grabbed Prime in a butterfly side slam. He grabbed the pin and got the 1-2-3 for the win.

Match Result: Lee Moriarty defeated Exodus Prime

-Backstage, Mark Sterling and the Premier Athletes met with The Swirl. Sterling said they were all tired of “Luchadores trying to take over ROH.” He proposed that the four of them team up to take care of the Luchadore problem. Christian asked if Stori Denali would be there. Sterling confirmed she would be and Christian said “we’re in.”

MPX Title Match: Delynn Cavens (c) vs JD Griffey

MPX Champion Cavens has one other ROH match under his belt and Griffey, an MMA expert, competed at Final Battle 2022. They were battling here for the very large MPX Title belt. It’s the bigger big-gold.

Griffey went for a strike right off the bell and Cavens used his speed to keep him at bay. Cavens landed a kick to the head and flashed a winning smile, but Griffey came right back and the two traded blows.

Griffey sent Cavens to the outside and hit a gutbuster on the ring apron (the guttiest part of the ring!). He slammed him on the apron again and then threw him back in for a cover. Cavens kicked out at two.

Griffey tried an arm lock, but Cavens fought out of it. Griffey dropped Cavens on his head and then tried for a slam, but Cavens countered it into a DDT. Cavens threw some high kicks, sending Griffey to the ropes for a 619. Cavens went up top and hit a 450 splash, but Griffey kicked out at two.

Cavens hit a double stomp on Griffey’s sternum and charged him in the corner. Cavens went for a splash from the top, but didn’t land it, giving Griffey an opening for a package shoulderbreaker. He then pinned Cavens to become the new MPX Champion!

Match Result: JD Griffey defeated Delynn Cavens

Six Woman Tag Team Match: ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Hyan & Maya World vs MIT (Athena, Billie Starkz & Diamante)

Athena made this challenge after Starkz and Diamante had laid out Hyan and World. She told them to find any partner and they landed on the ROH Women’s Pure Champion Purrazzo. Athena wore Hyan and World’s sashes down to the ring as trophies. She threw them at them as the match began.

Athena chose to start things off against World. They locked up and Athena took her down with a side headlock. The two chain wrestled into another lockup with World getting a wristlock. World came back with a headscissor and Athena countered with a dropkick.

Hyan tagged in and hit a big kick to the jaw. Athena refused a tag and hit an insiguri. Purrazzo tagged in and grabbed a quick armbar. Athena got out of it and threw a dropkick, but Purrazzo dodged it. Starkz tagged in and Hyan came in to double team her with Purrazzo.

Starkz fought back and World tagged in, dropping Starkz with a front face slam. World whipped her into the corner, but Starkz lifted her over the ropes and Athena pulled her off the ring apron. Diamante tagged in and Starkz hit a swanton on World on the outside.

Starkz tossed World back in for Diamante who tried to get a half crab on. World reached the ropes though and so Diamante started stomping her. Athena tagged in as Diamante whipped World into the MIT corner. Athena kicked her into the opposite corner and started playing to the crowd.

World tried to capitalize on that, but Athena cut her off from a tag and threw her back into the MIT corner where Starkz tagged in. She hit a DDT on World and Athena tagged back in to put the boots to her. World caight Athena with a backbreaker, but Starkz pulled Purrazzo off the apron before she could make a tag.

World hit a high kick and finally got a tag to Purrazzo who met Diamante in the center of the ring. She locked on a straight arm hold, but Diamante broke it. Starkz came in to break up a piledriver attempt and a brawl of suplexes broke out between all the women.

Purrazzo grabbed Athena and slammed her, but Diamante was legal and she rolled Purrazzo up for a two count. Diamante started throwing elbows before tagging in Starkz. Purrazzo took out a three of the MIT, and got a tag to World. Hyan came with her and they grabbed Starkz and Diamante, tossing them at each other.

Hyan and World hit a Gory bomb special on Starkz, but Athena broke up the pin. Hyan went for Athena who caught her, but Purrazzo interrupted. Athena hit a double facebreaker an callled in Diamante. They layed out World and Starkz hit a senton, but World broke up the pin.

Purrazzo tossed Diamante out of the ring and the brawled on the outside. Starkz fought World in the ring landing a swanton, but World got her knees up and rolled her into a pin to pick up the victory.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo, Hyan & Maya World defeated MIT (Athena, Billie Starkz & Diamante)

ROH stable introduces new member

The Infantry appear to have a new member, although not everyone in the group seems thrilled about it.

On ROH on HonorClub this week, Christyan Reid was revealed as the woman who has been appearing at ringside during recent matches featuring the faction, interacting with Carlie Bravo in particular. Bravo revealed that she’ll be wrestling under the name Christyan XO.

Bravo asked Trish Adora and Shawn Dean about bringing Reid into The Infantry, and they agreed, although Adora was hesitant.

“The four of us, we can be a thing,” Bravo said to Adora and Dean, who briefly discussed it among themselves before agreeing.

“Bye new family,” Reid said before leaving the scene.

“This is not an adoption,” Adora then said to Dean.

Listed at 6 foot, 4 inches tall, Reid played basketball at Lindenwood University. Her YouTube channel also features a video of her as a runway model at Miami Swim Week 2024. She is from Strasburg, Virginia and trained at Flatbacks, the Florida-based school run by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears, graduating last July.

ROH TV live results: Athena vs. Vertvixen

Ring of Honor presents its weekly show on HonorClub tonight.

Six matches are advertised for the broadcast.

Katsuyori Shibata of The Opps is scheduled to wrestle JD Drake of The Workhorsemen. ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will face Vertvixen in a Proving Ground match. Adam Priest vs. Anthony Henry has also been announced.

Additional matches set for the show include Viva Van & Lady Bird Monroe vs. Maya World & Hyan, Tony Nese vs. Mascara Dorada, and Tommy Billington vs. Aaron Solo.

Originally, tonight’s broadcast was planned as a Global Wars event featuring Ring of Honor and Metroplex Wrestling. However, it was announced on last week’s show that the ROH x Metroplex event has been postponed due to recent weather conditions in Texas. The show had been scheduled to be taped the same night as the January 24 live episode of AEW Collision, which was ultimately canceled.

Our live coverage, courtesy of our own Jeff Moss, begins at 7 p.m. Eastern.

*********************************

Welcome my friends to a snowy and cold edition of Ring of Honor where we ask the big questions:

  • Why did the girl keep her trumpet out in the snow?
    • She liked playing cool jazz.
  • What do you call a penguin in the Sahara Desert?
    • Lost.
  • Why do birds fly south for the winter?
    • Because it’s too far to walk.

Now, with that out of the way, this week’s show as a bit of a replacement as the ROH x Metroplex wrestling event that we were told about 2 weeks ago had to be postponed because of the frosty weather in Texas. So what do we have in it’s place? Let’s find out!

ROH Women’s World Championship Proving Ground Match: Athena [c] vs VertVixen

Vixen was Athena’s first challenger after winning the ROH Women’s world title all the way back in 1975. Currently, she’s 71-0 in her legendary run.

The two locked up off the top with Athena flipping through a wristlock. She grabbed a headlock and pulled Vixen down to the mat. Athena thumbed her nose at Vixen (literally) and Vixen dropped her with a shoulder tackle. She then threw some elbows at the Champ, befor hitting one hell of a kick.

Athena managed to kick Vixen in the face from the mat and that brought out the agression in her. She laid into Vixen with some hard strikes and then fishhooked her until the ref broke it up. She grabbed Vixen by the nose, dragged her up to her knees and then punched her in face, busting Vixen open.

Vixen tried to steal one with a rollup, but Athena kicked out of it and delivered a back suplex and then a few more hard strikes for a two count of her own. Vixen grabbed a wristlock take over and bought some time by throwing Athena into the turnbuckles headfirst.

Vixen powered up and hit a scoop slam, and a spingboard heel kick to Athena’s head. Vixen then hit a blue thunder bomb, but as we know, no one has ever won with that move, so Athena kicked out at two.

Vixen connected with a big knee to the head, sending her and Athena to the outside. It was all the Champion there though as Athena powebombed her onto the barricade, then threw her into the steps. Tossing Vixen back into the ring, Athena laid in some UFC style punches and locked on a Koji Clutch. Vixen was forced to tap out, giving the victory to Athena.

Match Result Athena defeated VertVixen

After the match, MiT, (Billie Starkz and Diamante) showed up and attacked Vixen. Before they could do much damage, Hyan and Maya World ran down to make the save and run off MiT and Athena.

-Backstage, the Infantry cut a promo. Dean wanted to introduce the mysterious lady he pulled out of the crowd a few days ago. She’s an athlete, model and forensic psychology major named Christian XO. He introduced her to Bravo and Adora and suggested that she join the Infantry. Bravo and Adora discussed this and said ok, but Adora seemed pretty reluctant.

Adam Priest vs Anthony Henry

Priest and Henry jostled off the bell with each man trying to get a headlock on. They moved to the ropes and Henry shoved Priest to the outside. He then sat in the ring all innocent like and waited for Priest to come back into the ring. Priest did, and tossed Henry out just to even the score.

Back in the ring, they chain wrestled until Henry was able to grab a wristlock. Priest countered into an Ankle lock, but Henry grabbed the ropes. Henry then straight up tackled Priest in the middle of the ring and the two fought to the corner.

Priest threw a bunch of chops and a picture perfect dropkick. Henry lured him into the corner and raked his eyes though. Then he hit a reverse neckbreaker over the steel joist that goes to the ropes. Priest’s neck wrapped around it.

Henry then started working Priest’s ankle, stomping it and then using his feet to wrench Priest’s neck harder. Priest slipped to the outside after a punch to the face and Henry threw him into the barricade and the ring apron (the priestiest part of the ring!).

Back in the ring, Henry set Priest up on the top turnbuckle. He yelled at him for a minute and Priest bit him before throwing a headbutt to send Henry to the mat.

Priest started running through Henry with lariats and running choips. He thew him with a back suplex and went up top. Henry saw it coming and rolled out. Priest kicked him through the ropes before Priest bounced his head off the steps.

Getting back in the ring, Henry turned the tables and went up top on Priest. Priest moved and Henry tried a pile driver but couldn’t get Priest up. Priest countered into one of his own, but Henry kicked out at two. At this point, commentary said the best thing I’ve ever heard:

“I think at the very least, his neck is in his own head now” – Ian Riccaboni

I’ll be thinking about that for weeks.

The two fought on the top turnbuckle and Henry seemed to get the better of a suplerplex, but upon landing, Priest rolled Henry up and got a 1-2-3 and the win.

Match Result: Adam Priest defeated Anthony Henry

Tommy Billington vs Aaron Solo

Next up, Priest’s tag team partner, Billington stomped down to the ring to see if it could make it two in a row for their team against Solo.

The two locked up and rolled around the ring trading wrist and waist locks. Solo transitioned into punches and Billington returned the favour, eventually dropping him with a shoulder block. Solo stayed sharp though, backdropping Billington over the ropes to the outside.

The two threw hands around the ring and Billington threw Solo back in. Solo got ahold of him though and whipped him into the corner. Solo threw a suplex and stomped Billington in the middle of the ring. He hit a back suplex then dropped a knee, keeping the momentum up.

Solo tried a sleeper, but Billington got out of it and landed a clothesline. He nailed Solo with a dropkick and then a scoop slam, heading to the top turnbuckle. They fought up there until Billington threw a headbutt sending Solo back. He then hit a dropkick from the turnbuckle.

Billington went for a pile driver, but Solo countered into a rollup for a two count. Solo hit a spinning kick after that, stunning Billington. Solo picked Billington up for a powerbomb, but Billington countered into another piledriver. He landed one more and then pinned Solo to get the win.

Match Result: Tommy Billington defeated Aaron Solo

-Backstage, Rocky Romero talked with Adam Priest. Romero heard that Priest told the locker room he could beat the Don Callis Family. Priest mentioned that they are losing a lot lately and he’s been winning so maybe he could get some of that Callis Family gold? Romero scoffed, assuming he was talking about Okada. Priest said that a match with Okada would be pretty great. So, Romero made the match Okada vs Priest for the AEW International Championship. Because apparently, he can do that. So that match will be on Collision.

Katsuyori Shibata vs JD Drake

Shibata has a 21-0 record in ROH, but Drake is really big.

Shibata kicked Drake in the gut off the Code of Honor and began stomping him in the corner. Drake exploded out of the corner with a clothesline, followed by a scoop slam. Drake thew himself at Shibata with a head butt. Shibata rolled out of the ring and Drake followed.

Drake chopped Shibata along the barricades and then threw him back into the ring. Shibata took the high ground and kicked Drake in the face, sending him back to the outside. Shibata threw Drake into the barricade and then grabbed a chair.

Shibata took a moment to high five a Jesus cosplayer at ringside, then set Drake up in the chair for a kick in the chest. Then he hugged Jesus and threw Drake back into the ring. Shibata set him up in the corner and chopped and dropkicked him before hitting a neckbreaker.

Shibata went for three pinning attempts but couldn’t get Drake to lay down, so he stood up and started kicking and throwing elbows. Drake got to his feet and the two traded no-sell chops. Drake dropped his straps and the chopping continued.

Drake shot Shibata off the ropes and hit a spinebuster and then a cannonball in the corner. He hit a modified Vader bomb, but Shibata kicked out at two. Shibata resorted to a low blow and then put on an arm bar. The ref, who fully saw it, didn’t disqualify him and the low blow resulted in Drake having to tap out to the arm bar for some reason.

Match Result: Katsuyori Shibata defeated JD Drake

Viva Van and Lady Bird Monroe vs Maya World and Hyan

Lady Bird is currently the Women’s Champion of Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. So that’s neat. World and Hyan had some nice Texas-themed matching gear and Van was also there.

Van and World started things off with Van using the ropes to counter a wristlock. Van matrixed her way out of a clothesline, but World rolled her up any ways. The two ran the ropes, leapfrogging over each other. They shook hands out of respect and tagged in their partners for a turn.

Bird fell victim to an alligator roll from Hyan and World joined her for a double team set of dropkicks. They whipped Bird off the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Hyan grabbed a facelock, but Bird countered and shoved her at Van in the corner.

Van and Bird traded quick tags with Van hitting spinning heel kick, then assisting Bird with a moonsault. Hyan fought back, whipping Bird into the corner with World, who hit a blockbuster. Van then broke up the pin attempt.

Hyan dove onto Van through the ropes, while Bird hit some handsprings right into Worlds feet. World Hyan hoisted Bird up and World hit a big strike on her in a cool finishing combination. World made the pin and picked up the win.

Match Result: Maya World and Hyan defeated Viva Van and Lady Bird Monroe

After the match, Athena and the MiT appeared to beat up World and Hyan. Athena grabbed a mic and reminded everyone that Ring of Honor is HER show. She told everyone that Hyan and World used to be part of Athena’s Metroplex promotion, but turned their backs. So next week, Athena, Starkz and Diamante will take on Hyan, World and “whatever scaredy cat ho they can find in the back.” Her words, not mine.

Tony Nese vs Mascara Dorada

Just Nese and Mark Sterling came down to the ring, presumeably because Stori Denali and Ariya Daivari were caught in the weather that waas plaguing Texas at the time. Dorada entered to a big ovation and “lucha!” chants.

Dorada offered his hand for a Code of Honor and Nese returned the favour by posing. They locked up and ran a high speed chain of moves that led to flips and poses from both. Dorada finally got some momentum, walking the ropes and nailing Nese. He then did the world’s first set of mocking jumping jacks at Nese.

Nese rolled out to confer with Sterling and Dorada baseball slid out of the ring to break it up by punching Nese. Nese tried to escape through the crowd, but Dorada chopped him about it. Dorada charged Nese, but Sterling got in the way and gave Nese an opening to throw Dorada at the barricade.

Ref Aubrey Edwards started the loudest count I’ve ever heard, but Dorada rolled in and out to break it. Nese then distracted Edwards while Sterling used his arm brace to choke Dorada on the outside. Nese then bounced his head off the announce table and threw Dorada back into the ring.

Nese stomped Dorada in the corner, but Dorada started punching abs and Nese had a lot of them to work with. Nese blocked a satellite DDT and hit a northern lights suplex. They got to their feet and Nese countered a sunset flip into a two count.

Nese put on a waist leg lock, squeezing Dorada in the middle of the ring. Nese grabbed Dorada in a waistlock, but Dorada started throwing elbows. Nese whipped him into the corner. Dorada hit a heel kick through the ropes and then leapt off in a corckscrew wrist takedown, sending Nese to the outside.

Dorada shot over the ropes with a 720 Tornado and took out Nese. He threw him back in the ring and hit a springboard frog splash, but Nese kicked out at two. Dorada got Nese up in an electric chair position, but Nese got out of it. Dorada hit a German suplex, but Nese landed on his feet and kicked him in the gut about it.

Nese chopped Dorada into the ropes and Dorada exploded out with a dropkick. He went up top, but Sterling pulled Nese out of harms way. Dorada hopped down and Nese caught him with a spiked pumphandle slam for a two count.

The two got to their feet and started trading chops until Dorada hit a kick combo. Sterling then got up on the apron and Nese charged. Dorada moved and Nese knocked Sterling off the apron. Dorada went up for a shooting star press and landed it perfectly, getting the win over Nese.

Match Result: Mascara Dorada defeated Tony Nese

As the match ended, it was revealed that Deonna Purrazzo will team with Maya World and Hyan to take on MiT and Athena next week! See ya then!

ROH champion issues open challenge

Deonna Purrazzo wants to take on all challengers.

The ROH Women’s Pure Champion issued an open challenge in a backstage segment on ROH TV this week.

Purrazzo said:

“It’s time to start creating my legacy as the first-ever, reigning and defending, Ring of Honor Pure Women’s Champ. So let me officially issue an open challenge to anyone anywhere because I am a fighting champion by design.”

A date for the first ROH Women’s Pure title open challenge has yet to be announced.

Purrazzo became the inaugural holder of the title by defeating Billie Starkz in the finals of a tournament at Final Battle 2025. Since winning the championship, Purrazzo teamed with Madison Rayne in Rayne’s final match, a loss to Starkz and Diamante on the December 21 ROH taping at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Purrazzo is 9–0 in ROH Pure rules matches dating back to last May. She has not lost a singles match in ROH since returning to the promotion earlier this year for the first time since 2018.
