Jon Moxley returning to Pro Wrestling Revolver in July

Jon Moxley is returning to the independents this summer.

Pro Wrestling Revolver announced that Jon Moxley will be returning to the promotion on July 24 for a show at The Troubadour in Nashville, Tennessee. Tickets for the event will go on sale this Friday at 8 pm ET.

Moxley has made several appearances for PWR over the years, defeating Gringo Loco in a Lucha Death match, teaming with Sami Callihan, facing off against Mike Bailey, and scoring the win over Jimmy Jacobs in a Iowa Street Fight. He also appeared in Defy last fall, wrestling Royce Isaacs.

Mox & Will Ospreay

Recent weeks on AEW television has seen Moxley take a keen interest in Will Ospreay, who targeted Moxley upon his return from injury after the Death Riders injured him at last year’s Forbidden Door. Moxley defeated Ospreay at AEW Dynasty, but offered to help him train and reorient himself ahead of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Ospreay accepted Moxley’s offer and the two have been seen training ahead of Double or Nothing, where Ospreay will face Samoa Joe.

Moxley is currently set to face Kyle O’Reilly in a Continental title eliminator match on the AEW Dynamite & Collision three-hour special this Wednesday.

Former Wes Lee set for Pro Wrestling Revolver return

The former Wes Lee has another booking.

Pro Wrestling Revolver announced that Dezmond Xavier would be part of their upcoming Season Finale event on December 13 in Clive, Iowa. This would be Xavier’s first Wrestling Revolver event since 2019, prior to signing with WWE.

Last week, it was announced that Lee would be returning to House of Glory on November 15 as part of their Superclash event in New York.

Lee, 36, was part of a group of cuts that took place on October 10 that also included other NXT and WWE ID talent. All had 30-day no-compete clauses in their contracts.

He had been signed to WWE since 2020, first as a team with Zachary Wentz known as MSK, winning the NXT Tag Team titles. When Wentz was released, Xavier continued on and a singles wrestler, winning the NXT North American Championship. He had recently formed a stable called High Ryze with Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe, but the group had not been emphasized prior to Xaiver’s release.

Hangman Page attacks Swerve Strickland at Wrestling Revolver Unreal

Hangman Page made a surprise appearance at Wrestling Revolver Unreal, attacking Swerve Strickland.

Strickland came out with Prince Nana and cut a promo talking about Page and their upcoming Texas Death match at AEW Full Gear, polling the fans regarding what weapons they wanted him to use against Page. While he was talking, Page came out through the crowd and attacked Swerve. Security came in to break the fight up, with Swerve eventually being led out of the ring. Page said he would beat Swerve’s a** in a parking lot, at Revolver, and at Full Gear. He told Swerve that he was a dead man at Full Gear.

After Swerve picked up the win in their first match at October’s WrestleDream event, he continued to taunt Page, at one point breaking and entering his house. The two have had several confrontations in the weeks since, including a back and forth promo on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The segment ended with Page attacking Prince Nana, with Swerve being unable to do anything as both Page and Nana were banned from touching one another.

Konosuke Takeshita to replace Jon Moxley at Wrestling Revolver event

Konosuke Takeshita will replace Jon Moxley on this Thursday’s Pro Wrestling Revolver event.

Moxley was set to face Gringo Loco at the promotion’s Heat Em Up card in Dayton, Ohio, but the former AEW World Champion stated in a video Tuesday that because of circumstances beyond the control of himself and the promotion, he won’t be able to make the date.

As a result, Moxley picked the debuting Takeshita to take his spot:

“If there’s going to be a replacement for me, it needs to be approved by me,” Moxley said. “We only accept the best. So on August 3, you are going to get a chance to see one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, live and in person in an environment like nowhere else in Dayton, Ohio, and his name is Takeshita. Dayton, I’ll be back.”

The last time Takeshita and Moxley interacted on AEW television was on Dynamite two weeks ago when Takeshita walked out on the Blackpool Combat Club during their Blood & Guts match with The Golden Elite.

Moxley is scheduled to appear on Wednesday’s 200th episode of Dynamite from Tampa, Florida, when he faces Trent Beretta and Penta El Zero Miedo in an anything goes match.

Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland vs. Ruby Soho announced for Pro Wrestling Revolver event

Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland’s first announced match post-WWE will be against Ruby Soho.

Strickland announced the match for Pro Wrestling Revolver’s upcoming Swerve’s House event that will take place at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa on April 16. Tickets will go on sale on January 28th at 8 pm EST on Pro Wrestling Revolver’s website.

This is Swerve’s first announced match since being released from WWE on November 18 along with the rest of the Hit Row stable, Ashante Thee Adonis and Top Dolla. B-Fab, who was also part of the group, was released on November 4. The group had only made their debut on the main roster just weeks prior to their release as part of the 2021 WWE Draft.

Ruby Soho, also released in the last year due to WWE budget cuts, has since signed with AEW and has also made appearances outside of the company. She faced Allie Katch this past weekend at The Wrld on GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom, picking up the win.
