Tatum Paxley feels prepared for WWE main roster call-up

Tatum Paxley feels ready for the WWE main roster but is fine with remaining in NXT for a while.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Paxley reflected on the initial slow pace of her time in NXT. Five years into her run, Paxley is eager to join the main roster just like many of the peers she came up with. However, she knows timing is the most important aspect to her eventual call-up.

“1000 percent,” Paxley responded when asked if she feels ready for Raw or SmackDown. “But, I am also in zero rush. I’m in no rush to get there. This is something I’ve learned from being in NXT, that timing is everything. My career was a little bit of a slow start, but I would not have wanted that to change at all, especially looking back on it.

“Now, if you were to go back in time and ask me, I’d be like, ‘Man, I wish this’ and ‘I wish that.’ But gosh, looking back on it now, timing is everything. I trust in them, the writers and everybody. I trust in them so much that I know when they’re ready to give me the ball and run, I trust their timing. You know, like, ‘Okay, it’s Tatum’s turn. Catch.’ ‘Thanks!’ And I’ll take off.

“So whenever Raw or SmackDown is ready to toss me that ball, I’m catching it and I’m sprinting.”

Paxley had a promising 2025. She won the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time in her career and formed an alliance with The Culling to fill the void after Lyra Valkyria’s Raw push. Unfortunately, Paxley’s friendship with Izzi Dame imploded when Dame betrayed her and cost her the title she barely held for a month.

At NXT Vengeance Day this past weekend, Paxley got some revenge by dethroning Dame for the Women’s North American Championship. They’ll face off for the title again in a steel cage match next week.

Lyra Valkyria defeats Becky Lynch to win WWE NXT Women’s title

Lyra Valkyria is the new NXT Women’s Champion.

Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch in the main event of NXT Halloween Havoc night one on Tuesday. The finish of the match had Valkyria kick out of a man handle slam. When Lynch went for a second man handle slam, Valkyria countered and rolled up Lynch for the victory. After the match, Lynch took the title from the referee and gave it to Valkyria. The show closed with Valkyria posing with the title.

Jade Cargill made her presence felt in the main event, sitting on a throne in the crowd. She was shown again after the match.

Valkyria won a three-way match back on the October 3 edition of NXT, defeating Indi Hartwell and Roxanne Perez to become the new number one contender for Lynch’s title. Lynch has successfully defended the NXT Women’s title in recent weeks on Raw against the likes of Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell. Xia Li had also indicated to Lynch that she wanted a title match.

On Monday’s Raw, Valkyria appeared in the crowd during the NXT Women’s title match. After Lynch won, she and Valkyria exchanged words.

North American title match added to next week’s WWE NXT Gold Rush

A North American title match has been added to next week’s NXT Gold Rush event.

Wes Lee will defend the North American Championship against Tyler Bate, with Mustafa Ali as the special guest referee. After Lee, Bate, and Ali defeated Joe Gacy and the Dyad on Tuesday’s show, Ali suggested backstage that the two have a title match with himself as the special guest referee. Lee and Bate seemed to agree to the idea.

A three-way tag match will determine the next contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Tank Ledger & Hank Walker will face off against Edris Enofe & Malik Blade and Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen. All three teams have had singles matches against their tag team partners in recent weeks. Booker T announced on Tuesday’s show that a three-way match will determine the next challengers for the Tag Team titles on the second night of NXT Gold Rush.

Dana Brooke will take on Cora Jade. After Jade confronted Brooke on this week’s show, Brooke attacked Jade on the outside during a match against Hail, allowing Hail to score the victory.

Here is the card for next week’s NXT Gold Rush night one:

  • World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins defends against Bron Breakker
  • North American Championship: Wes Lee defends against Tyler Bate with Mustafa Ali as special referee
  • NXT Tag Team title number one contender’s three-way match: Tank Ledger & Hank Walker vs. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Xia Li appears to be okay following NXT Women’s title match

Xia Li appears to be okay following her NXT Women’s title match on this week’s NXT.

Fightful Select reported that she “appeared okay” backstage following the bout. Li appeared to be injured towards the end of the match, when Raquel Gonzalez landed on her following a springboard senton splash. The match was then stopped as WWE medical personnel tended to her. After a couple of minutes, the match resumed. Gonzalez quickly went to the finish and pinned Li to retain the title.

Li had challenged for the title the previous week after Dakota Kai defeated Ember Moon in a singles match. Li is part of the Tian Sha stable with Boa and Mei Ying, who were not at ringside for tonight’s match.

The end of tonight’s NXT had Samoa Joe come out immediately after the NXT Women’s title match and called out Karrion Kross, who attacked him on last week’s show. Kross revealed backstage that he had laid out GM William Regal, saying he was the one in charge. Joe exited the ring but Kross was gone by the time Joe reached Regal.
