Report —

Big Takeaways —

  • A huge eight-man tag was the main event as WWE’s Killer Kross teamed with Davey Boy Smith Jr. & the Von Erich brothers to defeat Team Filthy (“Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Erick Stevens, Dominic Garrini & Kit Osbourne).
  • El Lindaman defeated Zenshi in a great opener.
  • An ex-ECW star returned to Philadelphia as Mance Warner’s pick to face Richard Holliday.

Full Recap —

El Lindaman defeated Zenshi (8:09)

Zenshi was selling his shoulder injury from Dominic Garrini a few weeks ago. That came into play a few times throughout the match and eventually cost him the bout in the end.

They equaled each other in the early going after an impressive quick exchange. Zenshi went for a handshake, but Lindaman slapped it away and rocked him with a forearm to the jaw. Zenshi came back with a standing moonsault, but surprisingly it was El Lindaman who took to the sky first with a summersault plancha to the outside.

Lindaman then went to work on Zenshi’s injured shoulder, but the high flyer soon fought back using his uninjured arm to handstand and eventually springboard himself into the ring and connect with an elbow drop. He launched himself into the ring again moments later and caught his opponent with a neckbreaker this time.

Zenshi landed on his feet off a German suplex but was snapped into a cross armbreaker seconds later. Lindaman locked it in, but Zenshi used his long legs to get to the ropes. Zenshi blocked another German suplex but instead ate a Northern Lights into the corner, then eventually a German — but this only got a two count.

Zenshi fought back with a backflip kick, then stayed one step ahead of Lindaman as he evaded four strikes and then hit three kicks of his own in a row. Zenshi went for an Ace Crusher but ate a Blue Thunder Bomb and a tiger suplex instead, which was enough to keep him grounded for the three count.

– Killer Kross, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and the Von Erichs hyped up their main event against Team Filthy. Smith talked about the family legacies and how far he was going to shove Garrini’s head up his own ass. Kross made fun of Team Filthy’s name and warned them “Everybody pays the toll.”

– Mance Warner wasn’t giving away any hints as to who his mystery man was to face Richard Holliday later in the night. And when Holliday met with Alicia Atout he guessed the participant: his garbage truck driver? Kwang? The ghost of Carlos Colon? Whoever it is they will be breathing rarefied air.

– Josef Samael warned us that the infiltration of the infidels is underway.

– Earlier in the day, Injustice tried to jump Brian Pillman Jr. and cut his hair ahead of his match with Jordan Oliver next week, but Davey Boy Smith Jr. made the save before they could get to his mullet.

The Blue Meanie defeated Richard Holliday by countout (4:53)

Meanie was announced as Mance Warner’s mystery choice to face Holliday and he got a good nostalgia pop from the Philadelphia crowd. This was a nice but relatively short comedy match.

They exchanged struts, but when Holliday suggested dancing together, he jumped Meanie from behind. Holliday rocked Meanie with a big clothesline, but the Blue Guy fought back with his Meanie jabs. He missed a big avalanche in the corner and Holliday floored him again with a back elbow.

Holliday got in Warner’s face at the announcer’s table and poured a beer out on the floor to the disgust of the Southern Psycho. Warner retaliated by spitting a beer in Holliday’s face. With all the distractions going on, Holliday got himself counted out!

– Atout was with Injustice and she brought up their “beef” with AAA. Oliver said he has a beef with MLW management and said Injustice are the real superstars. They sarcastically said hopefully Pillman is healthy for his match with Oliver next week.

– Low Ki hyped up his match with King Mo next week. He said Mo has fought some great fighters, and he appears a little punch drunk, but by the time Ki is done with him he is going to be kicked sh*t faced.

– Mo (with Atout) retaliated by saying Ki is a fraud. He said all he saw on YouTube was a little person getting bodyslammed. His American Top Team cornerman demanded that Ki have his own cornerman so he could throw the towel in.

– LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park then showed us how to cook sausages and eggs, using it as a euphemism to how they beat their opponents. They called themselves future champions of MLW.

– In a breaking news segment, we were told Mance Warner has challenged MJF to a loser leaves MLW match.

– Killer Kross, Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Ross & Marshall Von Erich defeated “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Dominic Garrini, Erick Stevens & Kit “Rip Von Erich” Osbourne. (7:56)

Lawlor took the mic before the match and said he felt at home in this garbage city. He said it was full of smart marks and insulted the fans. Lawlor was then told to “shut the f*ck up” by the crowd.

As you would imagine, this broke down immediately as all eight fought all over ringside. Lawlor and Ross eventually paired off in the ring as some order was restored. Ross missed a big splash in the corner, giving Team Filthy the opening to beat him down and gain the advantage.

Lawlor suplexed Stevens into Ross as he sat in his opponents’ corner, Garrini hit a belly-to-backbreaker, and even Kit Osbourne got in for a few cheap shots.

Kross got the hot tag and suplexed Team Filthy across the ring, but he ate a spinning heel kick from Lawlor. Kross was up seconds later though and dumped Lawlor on his head. Osbourne then hit a low blow on Smith behind the referee’s back, but Marshall locked in The Claw as Osbourne tried to hit Smith with a chair.

Marshall hit a Claw Slam and then a big moonsault to pick up the win over Osbourne. Smith put Osbourne through a wooden board for good measure after the bell.

But as the victorious team were leaving, they were jumped by Team Filthy again and they all brawled to the back. The brawl continued in the back as Fusion was going off the air, but out of nowhere King Mo appeared and broke a pipe over Killer Kross’ back. The announcer’s had just enough time to let us know that he has joined Team Filthy.

Next Week —

  • Brian Pillman Jr. vs. Jordan Oliver
  • Low Ki vs. King Mo

MLW Fusion results and video: Warner-Havoc barbed wire match

** The big takeaways**

  • In the first barbed wire match in MLW since 2003, Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc in a bloody battle.
  • Drago & Puma King defeated Taurus & Low Rider and Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil in an incredible triple threat tag team match.
  • Low Ki returned to action and defeated the debuting Chandler Hopkins in a competitive match.

** Show review **

Rich Bocchini welcomed us to Dallas, Texas, for a new episode of Fusion, and cut to AJ Kirsch in the ring who was hyping up the crowd but was interrupted by CONTRA Unit (MLW Champion Jacob Fatu, Josef Samael and Simon Gotch). As they were entering, we saw an image from earlier in the week when Gotch and Samael attacked Davey Boy Smith Jr. in Canada.

Samael told us that Dallas was a place filled with false idols and that wrestling’s Camelot (Dallas) will fall at the hands of CONTRA. Moments later, Smith Jr. stormed the ring, and with a little help from Brian Pillman Jr. who entered from the crowd, the Hart Foundation ran off CONTRA Unit to the back.

Drago & Puma King defeated Taurus & Low Rider and Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil (w/Middleweight Champion Myron Reed) in a triple threat tag team match (7:31)

This was an amazing triple threat tag with highspot after highspot with everyone shining at some point. This is a match to watch this week if this is your style as the action came quick and fast and did not let up at all. Honestly, why should it with the talent on show? It got a well deserved standing ovation from the Dallas crowd.

As Injustice were making their way to the ring, we had an inset video showing them confront Konnan while he was being interviewed by Alicia Atout earlier in the evening. Konnan asked if they had beef, and Oliver told him they have beef with all the old f*cks. Konnan warned them he had Drago waiting for them tonight and for Reed next week.

Low Rider took everyone out one at a time in the opening exchanges, finishing his flurry with a slingshot rolling senton from the top rope onto Injustice on the outside. Inside, Taurus used his power to powerslam Drago into Puma in the corner then took them down with clotheslines and spears.

Oliver and Brazil then took control with double teams including a back suplex assisted sit-out powerbomb onto Rider. King and Drago came in to even the score and took out Oliver with a backstabber dropkick to the gut. They then sent Taurus flying around the ring with a headscissors and arm drags.

Drago took out Reed with a dive to the outside and then came back in to hit Taurus with an around the world DDT. Oliver then hit Puma King with a springboard stunner and then a suicide dive stunner on the outside. Kotto was flying as well with a huge frog splash on Drago but Low Rider made the save.

Taurus and Low Rider then took out Injustice with a springboard facebuster and an inside out clothesline to Brazil, and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker/powerbomb/backstabber combination from the top rope on Oliver. Brazil then got dropped head first on the apron by Taurus.

The finish to this insane match was Drago twisting and rolling up Rider after he and Puma King had obliterated he and Taurus. This was incredible action.

— We heard from Davey Boy Smith Jr. fresh from the ring off his Opera Cup win last week. He said the Cup win means the world to him and hopes that Stu Hart is smiling down on him. He said he did it for the fans and the love of professional wrestling, and this is a stepping stone to the top of MLW and the MLW heavyweight title.

— CONTRA’s propaganda video this week was Josef Samael telling us that the Hart Foundation are scared, especially Smith. Samael then challenged Smith to a no holds barred, no rope, no rules, winner declared by knockout or submission match against Simon Gotch.

Low Ki defeated Chandler Hopkins (5:50)

Hopkins is another star coming in from AAA and he kept up with Ki in this one. This was a nice slower scientific match after the wild opener. The slow start came to life when Ki caught Hopkins with a dropkick while Hopkins was charging him in the corner. Chops, knees, and elbows followed but Hopkins fought back with a headscissor driver and a rolling flat liner.

Hopkins tried to follow up a ushigoroshi with a shooting star press, but Ki moved and locked in a calf assisted chokehold to pick up the submission win. Ki shook Hopkins’ hand after the match.

— Smith Jr. was again backstage but live this time. He said he hadn’t forgotten about the fireball CONTRA threw at Teddy Hart, and he accepted the challenge for the match against Gotch. He said Gotch’s choices are to get knocked out or tap out.

— Alicia Atout was then interviewing Dominic Garrini and “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. Lawlor explained that Garrini had joined Team Filthy and read out all his accolades. Garrini said people forget about him because of the luchadores and the Von Erichs. Lawlor finished by letting us know that Team Filthy are now sponsored by Condom Depot.

— After an Erick Stevens hype video and a reminder from MLW Superfight when the Von Erichs defeated MJF and Richard Holliday for the tag team titles, Atout then caught up with MJF and his huge bodyguard Grogan. MJF called himself the fastest rising star in professional wrestling and that is why he is going to prove that Marshall Von Erich is less than him. He then called out Mance Warner and said he was going to give him a lesson in professional wrestling.

— We saw highlights from the last barbed wire match in MLW between Terry Funk and Steve Corino from 2003.

— Atout was certainly put to work this week. She interviewed Jimmy Havoc and Priscilla Kelly. Kelly said they were not scared as they live and breath violence. Havoc said this is just a normal Saturday night to him, and there is nothing he likes better than causing pain to someone else. He called himself insane and said he would drink Warner’s blood.

— She must have been exhausted as she next interviewed the Von Erich brothers. They crushed apples in their hands and warned MJF that this is his future.

— We had a parental advisory warning before the main event, and even the announce team had protective gloves and wire cutters at the ready in case any wire came close to their table.

Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc (w/Priscilla Kelly) in a no ropes barbed wire match (10:34)

Havoc brought a barbed wire baseball bat with him…like we needed more of that stuff. They teased hitting the wire for a few moments, but Havoc was first to hit it torso and neck first after Warner sidestepped a lunge. That was followed up with an Irish whip that sent him back first into the wire. Warner pushed him headfirst and then a drop toehold sent him face first into the wire to bust him open.

Havoc fought back with a chain assisted right hand, a DDT, and a suplex into the wire. Havoc then attacked Warner’s knee with a chair too before pushing him headfirst into the wire himself. He then used a staple gun to Warner’s forehead and whipped him into the wire. He took off Warner’s shirt and stapled it to his back, before pulling it back off. Ouch.

Havoc then used wire cutters to cut a string of wire and use it across Warner’s forehead and then around his mouth. He then used his baseball bat across the back and forehead too. There was a real wrestling move next as Havoc used a curb stomp and attempted a pinfall, but Warner kicked out.

They gave each other the double middle finger before Warner rammed the baseball bat between Havoc’s legs, but Havoc retaliated seconds later with a staple gun shot between Warner’s legs or “the Bucksnorts” as the commentary team called it.

Warner then chokeslammed Havoc into a seated chair lying on its side, but moments later was on the receiving end of a death valley driver through a wooden board in the corner of the ring. Warner got his revenge with a chokeslam through some more wooden boards but Havoc kicked out. Havoc then had his plan of throwing salt in the eyes thwarted as Warner punched it back in his face, hit a clothesline with wire wrapped around his arm, and hit a piledriver onto a chair to pick up the win.

MLW Fusion results: Timothy Thatcher vs. Brian Pillman Jr.

Big Takeaways —

  • Brian Pillman Jr. overcame a separated shoulder to beat Timothy Thatcher in the Opera Cup to set up a final with Davey Boy Smith Jr. next week.
  • Gino Medina stabbed Konnan in the back and joined The Dynasty.
  • The Von Erichs made short work of Kenn Doane & Mike Mondo before being blindsided by Tom Lawlor and some nunchucks.

The episode is available to watch below:

Full Recap —

– Alicia Atout opened the show outside of the arena as she recapped some breaking news from earlier in the day. Brian Pillman Jr. was attacked by Injustice (Kotto Brazil, Jordan Oliver & Myron Reed) as he entered the building.

The beatdown was brutal as they smashed Pillman’s arm and put the boots to him. Atout told us Pillman had separated his shoulder and his spot in the Opera Cup semifinals against Timothy Thatcher was up in the air.

MLW Tag Team Champions Marshall & Ross Von Erich defeated The Filthy Squad (Kenn Doane & Mike Mondo) to retain their titles (2:20)

We saw a recap video from last week’s beatdown by Lawlor, Doane, and Mondo as Lawlor joined AJ Kirsch and Rich Bocchini on commentary. The Filthy Squad had karate gis that Lawlor had given them last week, making them officially members of Team Filthy. The Von Erich’s had their own in-set promo calling their opponents the jabroni Cobra Kai squad.

The Von Erichs jumped the Spirit — I mean Filthy — Squad before the bell, but Mondo quickly tripped Marshall’s ankle and the Squad beat him down in the opening moments of the match. Ross got a hot tag and ran wild, then seconds later tagged his brother back in for a Claw-assisted back suplex for the Von Erichs to pick up the quick win.

As the Von Erichs were celebrating, “Rip Von Erich” (Lawlor’s opponent from last week) unsuccessfully hit the ring and was quickly disposed of by the real Von Erich kin.

– Atout tried to interview the victorious Von Erich brothers backstage, but they were blindsided and jumped by Lawlor and his nunchucks.

– We then heard from Injustice after their attack on Pillman Jr. earlier in the day. They said they didn’t care about MLW’s rules or being charged for attacking Pillman. They said Pillman is out of the match so they should be the replacements and “You gotta lose money to make money.”

– Mance Warner then had a message for Jimmy Havoc via a video package of their bloody and weapon filled feud so far. They will meet in a no ropes barbed wire match in Texas.

– Atout then caught up with Pillman Jr. for an update on his injury. Pillman said he was cleared for his match tonight and he told Injustice that he is coming after them after he is done with the Opera Cup. Pillman also said he is going to kick Thatcher’s ass despite having a separated shoulder.

– CONTRA Unit’s propaganda video this week had Josef Samael preaching about violence and CONTRA’s strength. Jacob Fatu called out the Von Erichs, saying they want their gold and CONTRA will burn Davey Boy Smith Jr.’s legacy to the ground.

– Konnan then came to the ring and called out Gino Medina, who he called the next big thing in MLW. Medina talked about his dad and Los Gringos Locos — a group that Konnan was part of. Medina discussed what his dad told him about Konnan, and he accused Konnan of trying to use him as he was “untouchable.”

Konnan told Medina that he was trying to help him and that Salina de la Renta was the one using him. He said he didn’t know what was going down between them, who was going down…if she was going down.

Of course, this brought out de la Renta. She mocked Konnan for talking about her sex life “because he didn’t have one.” Konnan told Medina that he has shown him what she did with Low Ki, the paperwork with the Lucha Bros, and questioned why Medina would sign with her.

The Dynasty then came out. MJF told Medina that there is a reason he is the only member of the roster with two “Elite” contracts, and the crowd tried to rile him up with a “Cody” chant.

Richard Holliday asked the New York consumers to settle down and told Medina that when they are here everyone is breathing rarefied air. Alexander Hammerstone belittled Konnan and de la Renta and told Medina to side with the Dynasty.

So Medina had four choices: sign with Konnan, sign with de la Renta and Promociones Dorado, join The Dynasty, or reject them all. With a flirty smile, de la Renta tried to coax him out of the ring. Konnan tried for a handshake and Medina accepted…only to kick him in the gut and join The Dynasty in beating Konnan down.

The now four members of The Dynasty fist-bumped and posed for the crowd.

Brian Pillman Jr. defeated Timothy Thatcher in an Opera Cup semifinal match (8:11)

We had recaps of the quarterfinal victories for both Pillman and Thatcher before the injured and taped up — but still energetic — Pillman entered the arena.

Despite his injury, Pillman flew out the blocks with a dropkick and a flurry of strikes, but Thatcher gave him a stiff arm wringer that stopped him in his tracks. Thatcher focused on the injured arm with an attempted cross armbreaker but transitioned into a bow-and-arrow stretch. Thatcher then locked in a seated Fujiwara armbar, but Pillman didn’t give up.

Pillman eventually escaped Thatcher’s grasp, put everything behind his strikes, and knocked him down with a flying forearm and then a powerslam. Pillman went for his swinging neckbreaker finisher. Thatcher pushed him off, but Pillman turned that into a crossbody off the top rope.

Thatcher reversed Pillman’s finisher again into a double underhook suplex and then locked in a deep chinlock. Pillman suplexed out of it and hit Thatcher with a knee to the face. He then went for his finisher again. Thatcher dropped down into a Fujiwara armbar, but Pillman rolled around and rolled up Thatcher for the win.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. def. Timothy Thatcher by submission (14:46)
MLW Fusion | Aug 3, 2019

This was a scientific masterclass that turned into a strong style battle to the finish. Smith had an early hammerlock, using his legs instead of his arms. But, Thatcher turned and applied a standing heel hook while Smith was lying on his back. Thatcher focused on Smith’s legs during the early exchange of holds.

Thatcher tried to keep Smith on the mat as much as he could and kept going back to the heel hook at every opportunity. He hit a belly-to-belly to keep the big man down and keep his focus on the lower limbs of his opponent. Smith blocked a second belly-to-belly into a cross armbreaker but Thatcher transitioned back into the heel hook again. Smith was able to reverse the hook into a sharpshooter that Thatcher broke with a rope break.

They then started a forearm and uppercut exchange with both keeping their hands down and letting the shots come straight in. Smith ducked and went for a backslide and then a small package but Thatcher kicked out both times. They exchanged forearms again, but it soon escalated to open hand chops before Smith hit a German suplex for a two count. Thatcher switched and hit a release one of his own. Smith hit another two Germans followed by a Tiger suplex but Thatcher kicked out at the last moment.

Thatcher fought and locked in a cross arm breaker but Smith powered off his back. Thatcher transitioned into a triangle choke, but Smith powered up again and slammed Thatcher down in a half powerbomb to break the submission. Smith then slid seamlessly into a crossface that made Thatcher tap for the submission win.

— Kirsch and Bocchini both ran down the Lawlor vs. CONTRA Unit feud that caused chaos throughout the year. They talked about the Von Erich brothers getting involved, the War Chamber match involving them all, and then the culmination of the feud as Lawlor turned on Ross with a chairshot to the head when the Von Erich brother had earned an MLW title shot against Jacob Fatu. We saw the New York brawl between Ross and Lawlor last week that spilt out into the streets and the subway.

— We then had a Dynasty video package highlighting all the Lifestyle of the Rich and Dynastic and in-ring highlights from the privileged trio: title wins, successful defences, arrogant gestures and over the top gifts.

— A CONTRA Unit highlight video package showcased their violence throughout the year.

MLW Champion Jacob Fatu defeated LA Park to retain (19:59)
MLW Superfight | November 2, 2019

The main event of MLW’s first-ever PPV was a collision and battle of the monsters that had had a huge big fight feel to it. They had the tale of the tape followed by a video package recapping the big moments from the last year that all built towards this night: LA Park’s Battle Riot win, Fatu winning the title from Tom Lawlor, and Salina declaring the cash-in date. Park’s entrance included a parade of undead brides given the match took place on Dia de Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) in Mexico.

The match itself was as wild as you would imagine it to be. Park’s athleticism for his age was incredible. He hit an early suicide dive to the outside that had Fatu’s manager Josef Samael worried. Salina de la Renta, who accompanied LA Park to ringside, unintentionally distracted the referee which let Samael freely enter the ring and use a spike to bust open LA Park. Fatu had also ripped Park’s mask in half so the blood was visibly pouring out of the Mexican legend’s forehead.

Fatu and Park brawled around ringside as the fans got an up close and personal look at the carnage. Back in the ring, Park’s insane athleticism was on show again as he pulled out another amazing maneuver when he hit a twisting springboard senton off the top rope. On the outside, Park broke the timekeeper’s bell across the champion’s forehead busting him open too.

Fatu soon retaliated with a springboard twisting senton of his own but then the move of the night came when Fatu ran and launched himself from inside the ring over the top rope to the floor and hit Park with a Fosbury Flop. He then tried to put Park away inside the ring with his moonsault but Park moved at the last minute. Park then slowly crawled and made the cover but Josef Samael came in and broke the count by throwing a fireball at the referee,

This brought Salina in to confront Samael but she ended up taking a spear from LA Park through a table in the corner when Samael moved at the last moment. Fatu then hit a superkick to Park, an elevated Samoan drop and a double jump springboard moonsault to retain his title.

MLW Fusion results: Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Low Ki

Big Takeaways —

  • Alexander Hammerstone and Davey Boy Smith Jr. advanced in the Opera Cup by defeating MJF and Low Ki respectively.
  • Jimmy Havoc and Priscilla Kelly teamed up to take out Mance Warner first in a blindfold match, then later backstage.

The full episode is available to watch below:

Full Recap —

We opened with The Dynasty outside the arena earlier today. The cameraman asked MJF and Hammerstone who they thought would win when they face each other in the opening round of the Opera Cup. Richard Holliday said his lawyer/his father would be making sure the match wouldn’t be taking place — and that The Dynasty always win.

Jimmy Havoc defeated Mance Warner in a Prince of Darkness Match (3:40)

This was a blindfold match that had been alluded to in the prior weeks when both competitors mentioned “an eye for an eye” in their promos. The match ended up finishing with the formation of a new alliance between Havoc and Priscilla Kelly.

Havoc chugged a beer while he contemplated going through with the match, but he eventually got in the ring and he and Warner both dawned their hoods.

They circled. Warner swung a wild right and Havoc ducked. Warner got the crowd involved and reacted to their cheers and boos when he pointed around the ring. Warner got his hands on the referee and tried to wrestle him to the ground, and Havoc got excited and ran across the ring and slammed himself into the corner.

Havoc lifted his hood and took a peek, which allowed him to knock Warner down and stomp him in the corner. He then re-hooded, climbed the ropes, and went for a flying elbow drop, but missed by a mile. The referee got involved again when Havoc threw him into Warner, who then tried to DDT him, but Havoc clocked Warner with a clothesline.

Havoc lost his hood again during the referee melee, and Priscilla Kelly ran down to the ring and gave Warner a low blow behind the ref’s back. Havoc then hit the Acid Rainmaker to pick up the win. Havoc and Kelly left together.

– The cameras then caught up with Tom Lawlor entering the building. He said the Team Filthy Dojo is back up and running, but just as he got to the front door he was met by Ross Von Erich, who greeted him with a right hand to the face. They brawled outside for a moment before Lawlor scampered off into the New York night.

 – Alicia Atout was backstage with Alexander Hammerstone and asked if everything was okay within The Dynasty, as she saw MJF and Holliday talking earlier on about Hammerstone and MJF’s match. Hammerstone started explaining but was interrupted by Holliday and MJF. They were carrying a large bottle of orange juice and debating the benefits of vitamin C.

MJF told Atout not to worry about The Dynasty and gave Hammerstone the OJ, to which Hammerstone replied: “Thanks, you know I love being on the juice.” They then mocked Atout’s Canadian accent and told her to say “sorry” in it.

– Warner was backstage and was just starting to cut a promo on Havoc and Kelly when he was jumped by them both and strangled with a steel chain. Havoc then brought out a pair of scissors and cut Warner across the forehead and warned him about their upcoming barbed wire match.

– Gino Medina was backstage and the cameraman wanted answers about The Dynasty and Konnan. He said no comment to them all, but this ended with Salina de la Renta dragging him into a locker room and shutting the door behind them.

– A camera then caught Hammerstone backstage. MJF came out to meet him and tried talking him out of being in the Opera Cup because he already has his National Openweight title and doesn’t need the Opera Cup.

They were quickly interrupted by Holliday, his AirPods, and his conversation with his lawyer/father. Holliday was threatening to fire his father if he can’t get this match called off.

– OWE’s Strong Hearts (CIMA, El Lindaman & Shigehiro Irie) cut a promo on CONTRA Unit in Japanese, but they were quickly jumped by Jacob Fatu and the rest of CONTRA before the camera feed cut.

Alexander Hammerstone defeated MJF (w/ Richard Holliday) in the opening round of the Opera Cup (8:15)

A very entertaining matchup between stablemates. MJF warmed up and posed for the crowd before they both went for the Fingerpoke of Doom at the same time, playing up the storyline of them trying to throw the match for each other.

MJF then acted out the spot because Hammerstone has “big muscles but a tiny brain.” He tried it again, but Hammerstone didn’t move. Hammerstone then retaliated with his own finger to the chest, but MJF didn’t move either. In fact, he got enraged and screamed at the crowd that he was the leader of The Dynasty and turned around to eat a dropkick to the face.

MJF stumbled to the outside and Hammerstone hit a rope-assisted Fosbury flop to the floor! He threw MJF back in and hit a humongous missile dropkick too.

Holliday then distracted Hammerstone by shouting “he is your friend” — and this let MJF take control. He got Hammerstone to the mat and locked him in a leg vice and then later used the old school abdominal stretch and grabbed the ropes for assistance behind the referee’s back.

The ref finally caught him and MJF shouted “what are you going to do about it tubby!?” The ref kicked his hand off the ropes, and MJF ate a hip toss for his trouble.

Hammerstone fired up and hit a big butterfly suplex slam and called for the Nightmare Pendulum. MJF dragged himself up to his feet but then spat a disgusting glob of spit right in Hammerstone’s face and neck. He then thumbed Hammerstone’s eyes but ate two big boots and a big clothesline that nearly took his head off.

Holliday was having a terrible time at ringside, pacing up and down, not knowing what to do or what side to pick. He got up on the apron and pleaded with the referee to stop the match, and as he inadvertently distracted him, MJF hit a low blow behind the ref’s back and tried a small package, but Hammerstone kicked out at two.

MJF then teased the Cross Rhodes, but Hammerstone fought out and hit a sit-out powerbomb for the win. Hammerstone advances in the Opera Cup and will face the winner of Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Low Ki.

After the bell, MJF and Hammerstone eventually shook hands. MJF face planted, exhausted after taking a beating.

– Injustice (Myron Reed, Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil) had a recorded message for us all. Reed told us that — after months of winning and months of hard work — Injustice were left out of the Opera Cup. Oliver said that if “that man” was alive today and in the locker room he wouldn’t shake his hand, he would piss in his suitcase.

Injustice then said someone is not making it to the Opera Cup. They teased a New Day-style “Who, Who, Who” but then said “we don’t do that.” Kotto Claus is coming to town and he is bringing presents of ‘Justice.

– The cameras caught up with Ross Von Erich and Lawlor as they were fighting on Queens Boulevard. They brawled around a gas station and Lawlor poked Ross in the eye and ran off again.

– Alicia Atout was then backstage with Davey Boy Smith Jr. He said the pride of Stu Hart that runs through his blood and veins will make him victorious against Low Ki. Smith said he has already won the MLW Tag Team titles. The next step is winning the Opera Cup — and the last step is winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Low Ki in the opening round of the Opera Cup (12:12)

A handshake opened and closed this excellent contest. They slowly sized each other up early. Smith gave a clean break, but soon enough they hit the mat and Smith used his size and strength to keep Ki down.

Ki snapped on an armbar in the ropes and had Smith rocked, but a stiff forearm quickly turned the tide back in Smith’s favor. Smith slammed Ki and kept in firm control until Ki got the few seconds he needed to hit a double foot stomp while Smith was caught in the middle rope. Ki went for a slam of his own, but Smith was just too big and elbowed Ki directly in the kneecap.

Smith missed a few strikes and Ki retaliated with a kick to the face. Ki followed up with a dropkick through the ropes and chops around ringside. Smith used his strength to gorilla press Ki back into the ring, but Ki landed on his feet and hit Smith with a rolling kick while he was on the apron.

Ki then rolled through on a double stomp off the top rope but was caught with a powerslam. Smith hit a powerbomb that knocked Ki’s mouthguard out. He went for a second, but Ki blocked it and reversed into a scoop slam of his own.

Ki went to the top rope, but Smith met him there and drilled him with a pair of headbutts. Smith then turned him into a running powerslam position, but Ki kneed him in the head and slid down his back into a choke position and locked in the same modified triangle choke that took out Brian Pillman Jr. at Saturday Night SuperFight.

Smith’s eyes were rolling in the back of his head as he fell to a knee, but — at the last moment before collapsing — he tucked his chin, grabbed the back of Ki’s head, rolled through, and ended up on top of Ki and pinned his shoulders to the mat for the three count, giving Smith the victory as he advances in the Opera Cup.

– Before Fusion went off the air, the cameras caught up with Ross Von Erich and Lawlor again. Lawlor was sprinting up the steps at the 11th Street subway station in New York. He got onto a train that just pulled away before Ross could get his hands on him.

Full recap —

We opened with Injustice (Kotto Brazil, Jordan Oliver, and MLW Middleweight Champion Myron Reed) holding the ring hostage and attempting to hijack the show as they complained that they were not in this year’s Opera Cup. King Mo interrupted them and made his way to ringside for his scheduled match.

Injustice got in Mo’s face and it looked like it was going to break down into a three-on-one fight, but ACH then interrupted proceedings and made his return to MLW to side with King Mo.

King Mo & ACH defeated Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil (w/ Myron Reed) (10:37)

Dan Lambert, King Mo’s cornerman, joined AJ Kirsch and Rich Bocchini on commentary as Oliver and Brazil jumped ACH and Mo before the bell. ACH quickly fought back and got the better of Injustice with chops and dropkicks. Mo then came in and tried to lock a kneebar in on Brazil, but he was too close to the ropes.

Injustice used the numbers advantage to distract the referee and get ACH outside and began beating him down. ACH fired up a few times with stiff chops and slaps to the face, but Brazil and Oliver kept the quick tags flowing and held control of ACH with a series of elbow drops and a Sharpshooter.

King Mo got the hot tag and ran wild on Brazil with a spinebuster, an atomic drop, and a standing flapjack. Brazil reversed a gutwrench powerbomb with a hurricanrana, but Mo took both Brazil and Oliver out with a double spear moments later.

It was then ACH’s turn to run wild. He took them both out with kicks and hit Brazil with a foot sweep and a basement dropkick. Mo and ACH then combined with a corner splash and kick to Brazil in the corner before Mo hit him with a gutwrench powerbomb and locked in a kneebar to pick up the submission victory.

– The MLW cameras caught Gino Medina talking with a producer backstage and we were told he had just met with Konnan, but both had refused an interview.

– Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic was next. The Dynasty were in a bar, and MJF had his gift train for Hanukkah SLASH Christmas. He gave Holliday a pair of his beloved giant AirPods. Holliday got MJF a junior version of him called “Max Mini,” but MJF was severely disappointed. Max Mini was kicked out and we quickly moved on.

– Before the opening match in the tournament, we had a nice video package showing the history of the Opera Cup. This included the history of the cup being in the Hart family since the last winner, Stu, and Davey Boy Smith Jr. donating it to MLW to revive its legacy.

Timothy Thatcher defeated Richard Holliday in an Opera Cup tournament opening round match (10:11)

A “Thatchers gonna kill you” chant started as they circled each other before the bell. Holliday disrespected Thatcher almost immediately and ate a kick to the head and a suplex for his arrogance. Holliday tried his best to get some offense in but ducked his head for a back drop and Thatcher just tripped him and locked in an ankle lock.

Holliday got back up and hit a dropkick to regain some sort of control. He stayed in control, keeping Thatcher grounded until a missed elbow drop opened the door for Thatcher to come back into the match.

Uppercuts and hammer fists to the chest followed, but surprisingly Holliday regained control again. Holliday was very impressive here. He stood toe-to-toe with Thatcher and came out on top in most of the exchanges. A big spinebuster gave him a close two count.

The crowd started to get behind Thatcher, and he responded with a straight slap to the face and a double underhook suplex. Dueling chants then began for both as the match started taking its toll on both competitors. They fought to the corner. Thatcher was going for a superplex off the middle rope, but Holliday reversed it mid-air and spun, planting Thatcher in the middle of the ring, but only getting another two count for all his effort.

Holliday started shouting that Thatcher was not that tough, but Thatcher snapped on a Fujiwara armbar and Holliday immediately tapped out.

– MLW’s newest member of the broadcast team Alicia Atout was backstage with Salina de la Renta. Atout explained that she tried to get this interview last week but was so happy to speak to her this week, but de la Renta snapped back by saying she really didn’t want to talk to her last week, or this, so get on with the questions. But just as Atout started to speak, Gino Medina walked by and de la Renta dropped everything and walked off arm-in-arm to negotiate.

– Mance Warner had a recorded message for Jimmy Havoc ahead of their barbed wire match. He said the Taipei Death Match didn’t happen because Havoc was “a big old bitch.” He seemed to then challenge Havoc to a blindfold match. This feud will continue until all gimmick matches have been ticked off the list.

– We then caught up with Marshall, Ross, and Kevin from the Von Erich family. They were talking about “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and Kevin said everything always boils down to money, and when they find him in the ring, the brothers should do what feels right.

– CONTRA Unit had a video message. They explained that they had dropped Ikuro Kwon in Japan on a very special mission. Josef Samael said soldiers are coming from all corners of the world.

– Strong Hearts (CIMA, El Lindaman, and Shigehiro Irie) also had a recorded message for CONTRA Unit ahead of their six-man tag in the next few weeks. CIMA said they will destroy them in Japanese style, not hybrid style.

Brian Pillman defeated TJP in an Opera Cup tournament opening round match (13:21)

TJP grounded Pillman early with a headscissors and kept it locked in while Pillman tried to escape. He then went after the arm, and after a cartwheel and a kick to the face after feigning a nip-up, Pillman escaped and we were back to level terms. TJP had a nice escape from a headlock takeover by walking back on his shoulders. Pillman tried one of his own moments later — but with no luck.

TJP then used a headstand to escape and the pace quickened. Both went for kicks, and both ducked and avoided and popped back to their feet for another stalemate that got a nice ovation from the crowd.

TJP sent Pillman to the outside with another headscissors, then clocked him with a running springboard dropkick — landing on the apron in the process. Back inside, TJP took control and locked in a Sharpshooter, but Pillman briefly escaped before he was locked into a hammerlock and a chinlock.

The pace briefly quickened again, but TJP then locked in an Octopus submission. Pillman turned that into a Brock Lock/stretch muffler, but TJP reversed that into a small package for a two count. A lot of back-and-forth action, reversals, and escapes.

TJP missed a senton bomb and rolled through, but Pillman hit him with a powerslam for a two count. TJP then fought out of Pillman’s DDT finisher and hit a spinning DDT of his own. Pillman went up top, but TJP ran up the ropes and hit him with a superplex, then kept a hold of it to hit a brainbuster for a close two count.

Pillman got a shoulder up again after a kick to the head but rolled straight into the TJP Clutch, and just as he was reaching the ropes, TJP wrapped his arm back in an STO. Pillman fought and fought and just made it to the ropes.

They fought to their feet and had a forearm exchange. TJP hit a flurry of kicks and hit the ropes, but he ran straight into a superkick to the jaw. Both then reversed and escaped each other’s finishers, with Pillman finishing the exchange with a knee to the head, then at the third time of asking, hit TJP with his spinning neckbreaker finisher and picked up the pin.

  • The Hart Foundation got one over on CONTRA Unit when Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Brian Pillman Jr. defeated Ikuro Kwon & Simon Gotch.
  • The Dynasty’s newest recruit/Alexander Hammerstone’s huge gift Grogan won a battle royal.
  • Savio Vega defeated Leo Brien in a Swamp Fight.
  • We heard from Filthy Tom Lawlor after he betrayed the Von Erich family last week.

The episode is available to watch below:

Full Recap —

We opened with a recap video from last week’s Thanksgiving episode and the shocking conclusion to the Jacob Fatu vs. Ross Von Erich MLW World title match that saw Filthy Tom Lawlor turn on the Von Erichs.

Grogan won a 17-man battle royal (9:17)

Participants included: Kotto Brazil, Jordan Oliver, Myron Reed, Richard Holliday, Leo Brien, Gringo Loco, Timothy Thatcher, Dominic Garrini, Douglas James, Savio Vega, Zenshi, Ricky Martinez, Barrington Hughes, Dr. Dex, and two members of American Top Team.

Alexander Hammerstone was on commentary and was hyping up Grogan throughout the match. Hughes was out first when the whole ring ganged up on him to dump him out. Zenshi skinned the cat a few times early on to stay in.

Grogan then eliminated Martinez and Oliver at the same time, then Reed ran but was launched out too. Brazil was next as Grogan press slammed him out to the already eliminated at ringside.

Brien and Vega toppled out together and continued brawling to the back. Grogan then KO punched an ATT member out to thin the field down.

Douglas James eliminated a wrestler who the commentators didn’t know or didn’t tell us who he was. Holliday then reversed a hurricanrana into a powerbomb and eliminated the other ATT member. He got another elimination quickly by throwing Zenshi out, but then Garrini dumped Holliday when his back was turned. Garrini then turned into Grogan — who tossed him too.

The final four were Thatcher, Gringo Loco, James, and Grogan. They tried a three-on-one beatdown with no luck. Grogan eliminated Loco and then James and it was down to him and Thatcher.

Thatcher’s chops and uppercuts had little effect on the giant. Thatcher evaded elimination and landed on the apron, but Grogan hit him with a big boot to knock him off and win the battle royal.

Throughout the match, the commentators and ring announcers called Grogan “Gorgan” so there may be a name change coming soon.

– Tom Lawlor then joined Rich Bocchini via satellite and told us that friendships are usually mutually beneficial, however his friendship with the Von Erichs only benefited them.

Lawlor reminded us it was his war with CONTRA when he brought them in to fight on his side, but the Von Erichs made it all about them. He said he isn’t loyal to anyone. Not CONTRA, not the Von Erichs — the only person he is loyal to is himself.

Savio Vega defeated Leo Brien in a Swamp Fight (4:36)

This took place “earlier this week” and was outside in the swamps of Florida. Brien swung his cowbell immediately when the referee started the match. He choked Vega with the rope moments later too.

Vega used a large piece of wood to knock Brien up against a chain link fence and tried to hang Brien from the fence with the rope around his neck. Brien fought back and knocked Vega down with the cowbell again for a two count.

Vega eventually hit Brien with a spinning heel kick to pick up the win and added insult to injury by choking Brien with his cowbell rope again.

– Kaci Lennox caught up with the Von Erich brothers. Ross said he was heartbroken after what Lawlor did to him last week. Marshall said he was pissed off and he told Lawlor he hoped he didn’t see him in the ring because this was a fight Lawlor won’t be able to finish.

– We then had a hype video for ACH.

The Hart Foundation (Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Brian Pillman Jr.) defeated CONTRA Unit (Ikuro Kwon & Simon Gotch w/ Josef Samael) (10:06)

Pillman had a nice escape from Kwon when he feinted a nip up with an up-kick instead, but he then tripped into the ropes and gave control over to CONTRA. Gotch locked in an arm breaker and rolled through into a kneebar, but Pillman escaped with a chinlock. It wasn’t for long as Gotch suplexed him over onto his head.

Pillman fired back and regained control for his team. Quick tags with Smith followed as the Hart Foundation beat down Kwon. Smith hit a 30-second delayed vertical suplex — but when Pillman tried the same, Kwon slipped out the back and tagged in Gotch as CONTRA took control again.

Smith got the hot tag after Pillman fought up from a chinlock. Smith knocked CONTRA’s heads together, slammed Kwon down, and hit Gotch with the 10 punches in the corner. Smith then hit the Hogan big boot and leg drop on Gotch, but Kwon broke up the pinfall attempt.

Pillman smacked Kwon with a superkick, then he and Smith hit Gotch with the Hart Attack with an Air Pillman clothesline to pick up the win.

Next Week —

Full Recap —

The special Thanksgiving episode opened with AJ Kirsch and Rich Bocchini hyping up the main event between Jacob Fatu and Ross Von Erich, as well as King Mo’s MLW debut against Ricky Martinez.

Injustice (Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil w/ MLW Middleweight Champion Myron Reed) defeated Gringo Loco & Zenshi in a survivor rules tag team match (9:49)

Oliver and Brazil took the mic before the match and told everyone they don’t like Thanksgiving, but Oliver said he was hungry for some gold, some money, and some justice. Reed got ejected from ringside before the match even started.

Zenshi and Loco double-teamed Oliver early on, with Loco hitting a split-legged moonsault on him. Loco then hit a tope con hilo on both he and Brazil on the outside.

Injustice eventually fought back and Brazil grounded Loco with a backstabber. Loco was bleeding from the nose and Brazil hit a triple-jump 450 splash for a two count, but Zenshi eventually got the hot tag and leapt into action with a springboard 450 clothesline. He then hit a double backflip Pele kick to both Injustice members and a 450 splash from the bottom rope on Brazil, with Loco adding insult to injury by squashing him with a senton bomb.

Zenshi hit his amazing coast-to-coast (corner-to-corner) somersault dropkick, but Oliver made the save at the last second of the pinfall. Zenshi was eliminated first when Injustice double-teamed him and Brazil hit his running Shiranui.

Loco came in and quickly eliminated Brazil with a spinning tombstone piledriver, so it was down to Oliver vs. Loco. Oliver picked up the victory for his team after Reed ran down to ringside and clobbered Loco with a right hand. Loco stumbled into an Ace Crusher from the middle rope from Oliver.

– King Mo cut a promo backstage and called Ricky Martinez an ugly clown. Mo told us all that the King had arrived and he is holding court.

– Before she could find her to get an interview, Priscilla Kelly jumped and attacked Kaci Lennox backstage and locked in the mandible claw.

King Mo defeated Ricky Martinez (1:42)

Mo was announced as representing American Top Team and got a good ovation for his debut, but Martinez welcomed him to MLW by jumping him with a spinning back kick and a big jumping neckbreaker. Moments later, Mo caught Martinez in mid-air with a spear. A big splash in the corner was followed by a gutwrench powerbomb, then Mo locked in a kneebar for a quick submission win.

– Mance Warner then had a recorded message for Jimmy Havoc from his uncle’s home in Bucksnort, Tennessee. Warner said that Havoc doesn’t want to mess with him, he doesn’t forgive Havoc, and Havoc pissed him off. He finished by saying it was an eye for an eye.

– Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic was next. Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday were discussing Hammer’s huge gift for The Dynasty. MJF was on FaceTime as Holliday said his feast/his dinner was superb and that Hammerstone is always welcome at his lawyer’s/his father’s beach/yacht club.

The huge gift was, as Holliday put it “wow…that’s a giant man,” a 7-foot tall monster called Logan. Logan will be in the battle royal next week on Fusion.

– “Filthy” Tom Lawlor was then backstage with Ross Von Erich. Lawlor was hyping him up by saying Ross has always had his back, so Lawlor has his tonight and will be there for him.

MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu (w/ Josef Samael) defeated Ross Von Erich (w/ Tom Lawlor) to retain his title (14:59)

The match started slowly with Fatu using his size and strength advantage, but Ross used his speed and agility advantage where he could too. Fatu missed a Bronco Buster. Ross followed up with a somersault senton in the corner, but Fatu easily kicked out. Fatu hit kicks, right hands, and headbutts to the fallen tag team champion. Fatu chopped Ross on the outside, and Samael got his kicks in behind the referee’s back.

Fatu caught Ross off a crossbody and turned it into a gutwrench sit-out powerbomb, but moments later they each collided with a crossbody that knocked them down. On their feet, Ross hit a pair of dropkicks and a pair of slingblades. He then hit a missile dropkick that knocked the champ to the outside. Ross followed up with a suicide dive through the ropes.

Ross locked in the Iron Claw when he was up in a powerbomb position, but Fatu ran to the ropes and they both tumbled to the floor. They brawled into the crowd, but Fatu ended up chopping the ring post. Back inside, the referee took a bump as Fatu took control again. Ross couldn’t get to his feet as he hurt his right knee from a suplex.

Fatu got frustrated with the ref and squashed him in the corner with a running hip attack. He hit Ross with the elevated Samoan drop and a handspring moonsault, but there was no one to count the pin.

Fatu missed a splash in the corner and hit his head off the ring post. Ross hit him with a crossbody off the top rope and then dropkicked a chair into the interfering Samael’s face.

Lawlor then got involved and got into the ring, picked up the chair, and sized up Fatu. But instead of hitting him, Lawlor turned and smacked Ross across the head instead! He left the ring, screamed “f*ck CONTRA” and “f*ck the Von Erichs” to the camera, and left ringside. Fatu then hit his triple-jump moonsault to pick up the win and retain his title.

Next Week —

  • A battle royal
  • The return of Salina de la Renta

MLW Fusion results and video: Warner-Havoc falls count anywhere

** The Big Takeaways**

  • Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc in a falls count anywhere match that went all over Orlando, including Havoc’s own apartment.
  • Zeda Zhang defeated The Spider Lady by dq in MLW’s first ever women’s division match when Spider Lady would not let go of the mandible claw. She then unmasked to reveal herself as Priscilla Kelly.
  • Alex Hammerstone beat the gutsy Douglas James to retain his National Openweight title.
  • Ross Von Erich will replace his injured brother Marshall when he challenges Jacob Fatu for the MLW world title on Thanksgiving night.

** Full Review **

We opened backstage where the cameras caught Marshall Von Erich after he was attacked by a masked assailant. Tom Lawlor and Ross Von Erich were quickly on the scene but Marshall could be heard saying his knee popped and that the attacker hit him with a pipe.

Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc in a falls count anywhere match (13:53 on-screen action, match went through the entire show)

Warner jumped Havoc while he was entering the arena. They threw chairs at each other while the fans fled for their safety. At ringside, Havoc ate another chair to the face while he was looking under the ring. Warner brought out a wooden board but was rammed headfirst into the ring post and was on the receiving end of an eye poke.

Inside the ring, Warner set up the wooden board in one corner and a chair in another. Havoc had brought in a bag from under the ring but it was Warner who emptied thumbtacks in another of the empty corners.

Havoc saw the tacks and ran from the ring, through the crowd, and out into the parking lot. He then committed grand theft auto as he stole a car and drove off. Warner, chasing Havoc, jumped in the passenger seat of a waiting car and took the cameraman and a referee with him, speeding off in hot pursuit. To be continued…

— Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic had Richard Holliday and Alexander Hammerstone sunbathing with Holliday in a full suit and Hammerstone in very small trunks and baby oil. Holliday wanted to know about Hammerstone’s promise of a huge gift for the Dynasty and if he guessed right, Hammerstone would tell him. Holliday guessed it was a giant egg (Gobbledy Gooker-style) but Hammerstone said that was a stupid idea and no one would ever do that. Holliday then guessed giant AirPods or if it was something from the Mexican pharmacy, but both were incorrect.

Zeda Zhang defeated The Spider Lady by disqualification (4:37)

This was a historic moment as this was MLW’s first-ever women’s match. However, it did not last long and was only here to set up future matches and storylines. The Spider Lady crawled to the ring and was announced as hailing from the world famous Parts Unknown. The commentary team of Rich Bocchini and AJ Kirsch both mentioned they found her oddly familiar so a big unveiling was on the cards.

The Lady kicked away a handshake and went straight for the eyes, but Zhang hit some early strikes and kicks to fight back. The referee had to pull Zhang off Lady in the corner, and Lady took advantage and kicked at Zhang’s heavily braced knee. She kept her focus on the knee by wrapping it up the ropes and kicking away at it. Spider Lady then locked in a mandible claw and kept it locked in even though Zhang was in the ropes. Doug Markham counted to five a few times and even tried pulling her off but couldn’t get the mysterious woman off her, so he called for the bell for the disqualification win for Zhang.

After the bell, the referee finally got her off Zhang and she unmasked herself to reveal Priscilla Kelly. She kicked Markham below the belt then licked his bald head before leaving the ring.

Mance Warner vs. Jimmy Havoc continued

We caught up with Warner in hot pursuit of Havoc. Havoc pulled up at an apartment complex and Warner chased him up a flight of stairs into what we were told was Havoc’s apartment. He did warn us last week he was going to hit him with his own frying pan. They hit each other with cookie sheets and fought into the bathroom where Havoc’s head was flushed down his own toilet. Havoc’s promise then came true as he hit Warner with his frying pan and got a two count on his couch. They fought back down to the cars and Havoc got away again, but Warner, the referee, and cameraman were once again in hot pursuit. To be continued….

— We then heard that Ross Von Erich will replace his injured brother Marshall against Jacob Fatu on Thanksgiving night because of the earlier assault from the mystery attacker.

— The Opera Cup first round matches were officially announced: Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs Shinjiro Otani, Timothy Thatcher vs Richard Holliday, Brian Pillman Jr. vs TJP, and Alex Hammerstone vs MJF.

— We then caught up with Priscilla Kelly, MLW’s newest member of the women’s roster. She told us that she is the queen of doing the unexpected and shocking people. She said MLW women’s division is lacking a mind that is strong enough to get inside the mind of every other female on the roster and make them question themselves, their work, and their sanity. She is there to make them all question their place and their sanity.

MLW National Openweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone (w/Richard Holliday) defeated Douglas James to retain (9:30)

Holliday accompanied Hammerstone out to the ring and joined the commentary team, much to their chagrin. He called Hammerstone “Meatcastle” throughout the match.

James came out the blocks at 100 mph. He charged Hammerstone straight away and got two quick two counts. Hammerstone tried to use his power but ate a dropkick to the face. He hit an ace crusher next for another two count. He then hit some kicks to the chest but Hammerstone caught the last one, got to his feet, and threw James across the ring with a head and leg suplex.

Hammerstone then took control. He hit a delayed double underhook suplex and powered him across the ring into the corner. James fought back with some stiff kicks but Hammerstone again reversed a whip into the corner and hit a big pump kick to the head. James had another hope spot where he caught Hammerstone with a knee to the head but the champion again retaliated with a big suplex, tossing James halfway across the ring.

They found themselves up on the top rope in the corner. Hammerstone went for a superplex but James slid out and was able to grab him with a German suplex off the middle rope. James followed up with another big suplex, a superkick to the nose. and a running Meteora for a close two count.

James went up top, but Hammerstone caught him and bealed him off the top, hit a pump kick, a German suplex, and a sitdown powerbomb for what looked like the end, but James somehow got his shoulder up at the last second.

Hammerstone got James up and hit a gutwrench Burning Hammer, but once again James kicked out. Hammerstone got frustrated and started screaming at him, but the ever courageous James slapped him across the face. This only angered the big man and Hammerstone hit the Nightmare Pendulum moments later to pick up the win.

— TheWarner vs. Havoc car chase drove past Full Sail University before we headed to another break.

— We then had a press conference of sorts with ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor and Friday’s signing of a multi-year deal with MLW. He said he is going to bring the MLW world title back home, the Von Erichs are great, the sky is his limit and the world is his oyster. He said all that matters is ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor is staying with MLW and it’s about time the batter takes a swing and knocks it out the park.

Mance Warner vs Jimmy Havoc continued

They stopped in the parking lot of Full Sail University and Warner had his driver throw moonshine in Havoc’s face, but England’s most dangerous man fought back by biting Warner’s nose and ear. They then fought into the back seat of the same car and they drove back towards the arena.

After another short break, we were back at the MLW arena where Havoc and Warner finally made their way back into the crowd. Warner stapled dollar bills to Havoc’s head and shoulder. Warner got one himself but pulled it out and busted himself open.

They got into the ring and Warner went face first into the chair in the corner and ate a drop toehold onto another chair. Havoc then hit a death valley driver through the ring board in the corner and then dropped him with a death valley Michinoku driver onto the thumbtacks but Mancer somehow kicked out.

Havoc then got a fork and rammed it into Warner’s head as they made their way up the ramp. Havoc then went for the Acid Rainmaker with the fork, but Warner ducked and got a schoolboy on Havoc for the surprise pinfall win.

After the bell, Havoc threw a chair at Warner and used the fork on his head, groin, and ear so it looks like this feud will continue.

— A CONTRA Unit propaganda video closed this week’s Fusion. Josef Samael said CONTRA has a special surprise for the Von Erich brothers, and that Thanksgiving night will be the end to the new hope, and we will have to say goodbye to Ross Von Erich.

MLW Fusion results: ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

** The Big Takeaways**

  • “Filthy” Tom Lawlor defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. in an MLW match of the year contender and then told the world he only has a few short weeks left on his MLW contract.
  • Marshall Von Erich beat Ikuro Kwon by disqualification and then accepted Josef Samael’s offer to face Jacob Fatu on Thanksgiving night.
  • The Dynasty combination of Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday lost via countout to Dominic Garrini and Douglas James.

** Full Review **

We opened backstage with Lawlor and the Von Erich brothers, Marshall and Ross. Lawlor said he might only be here for a few more weeks but he has big business with Davey Boy Smith Jr. tonight. Marshall and Lawlor both asked Ross if he has their back tonight in their matches. with Ross replying “Of course. We are all brothers.”

Rich Bocchini and AJ Kirsch then welcomed us to Orlando and hyped up tonight’s main event.

Marshall Von Erich (w/Ross Von Erich) defeated Ikuro Kwon of CONTRA Unit (with Josef Samael) by disqualification (03:53)

This was a good quick match that built up the eventual announcement of Marshall vs. Jacob Fatu on MLW’s free YouTuber show on Thanksgiving night. They played up the revenge story as it was Ikuro Kwon who “blinded” Marshall by spitting mist into his eyes earlier this summer, causing him to miss seeing the birth of his son.

Kwon jumped Marshall with a suicide senton as he was making his way around the ring high fiving fans. After Samael had instructed Kwon to attack, the newest CONTRA Unit member hit a flurry of strikes to Marshall’s chest and abdomen before hitting a nice spin kick to the back of the head. Kwon’s kicks continued but Marshall caught him with a discus lariat to stop him in his tracks. A spinebuster followed soon after, but before he could fully lock in the Iron Claw, Josef Samael jumped in the ring and attacked for the disqualification.

Ross quickly came in to even the odds and the new MLW tag team champions quickly cleaned house of CONTRA Unit.

— Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic saw Richard Holliday FaceTiming with MJF about Maxwell’s botched Botox injections. Holliday jumped in horror as MJF revealed his barely noticeable abnormalities. Alexander Hammerstone then came in with a gift train for them both. MJF wished for another Burberry scarf, Holliday wanted really big Air Pods, but while Hammerstone couldn’t reveal their gifts yet, he said it was the biggest gift MLW has ever seen.

— Bocchini and Kirsch hyped up the upcoming Opera Cup with two of the four opening round matches announced: Brian Pillman Jr. vs TJP and the Dynasty will explode when MJF takes on Alexander Hammerstone.

Dominic Garrini & Douglas James defeated National Openweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday by countout (7:02)

Garrini and James continued their string of impressive performances in MLW in this one. They both looked really good and Garrini’s snap armbreaker submissions popped the crowd each time and looks like it is quickly catching on.

Before the bell, Holliday told the crowd they were breathing verified air before his lawyer/father phoned him and he took the call via his AirPods. He called Garrini and James’ Krav Maga “Krav Ma-garbage” before calling himself the “AirPod God” and Hammer’ “Meatcastle of the Dynasty”.

Holliday piefaced Garrini but also offered a handshake because of “sportsmanship”. Garrini snapped on an armbreaker attempt but Holliday was more worried about his AirPod falling out. Hammerstone came in and had a test of strength with Garrini but again Garrini snapped on another armbreaker attempt. Hammerstone powered out and Garrini tagged in James.

James initially used speed against Hammerstone, but the MLW National Openweight champion plucked him out the air and slammed him down before tagging in Holliday who continued the beatdown on James. Hammer shouted James was “just too small” before eating a dropkick which led to the Garrini hot tag.

Garrini suplexed Holliday and got in another armbreaker attempt but Hammer had to break the hold with a stomp to the chest. The action was nonstop as James came off the top and caught Hammerstone with a Meteora for a close two count. The action spilled to the outside where James hit a tornado DDT on Hammerstone as Holliday and Garrini brawled on the other side. James barely rolled into the ring before the 20 count to pick up the countout win, but Hammerstone was seconds behind him. The Dynasty were furious in the ring at their loss.

— New MLW Middleweight champion Myron Reed had a message for everyone. He said for years to come, everyone will be celebrating the name “Hot Fire” Myron Reed. He gave a nice shoutout to Matt Travis after his tragic passing last week and finished by saying “Free ACH”.

— Lawlor and the Von Erichs were backstage talking about Marshall’s win. Ross received a delivery: a phone with a video message. Samael was in the video and he said his offer was that one of them can face Jacob Fatu on Thanksgiving night. The brothers decided between them that it would be Marshall and he signed the contract on Ross’ back. However, Ross cannot be sure what name Marshall put on the contract as he folded it and handed it back to Ross who put it straight back into the package.

— The MLW women’s division had a nice hype video before Kaci Lennox interviewed Zeda Zhang about her match next week against The Spider Lady. She threatened to squish her like a bug and demask her to show the world who is under the mask.

— Jimmy Havoc had a message for Mance Warner. He accepted his challenge to a falls count anywhere match and threatened to take him back to his own house in Florida and hit him with his own frying pan. Of course, Havoc then threatened to bust him open and drink his blood.

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. (15:47)

This was an excellent match that should be added to any MLW watchlist: a complete clinic in professional wrestling and storytelling. “King” Mo Lawal was ringside for this MLW dream match as a handshake started us off.

They displayed great chain wrestling and good storytelling psychology as they reversed, escaped, and applied different submissions while on the mat with neither getting any attempt fully locked in as they were both fresh and evenly matched with it being so early in the encounter.

Smith teased participating in a forearm exchange before dropping down and taking Lawlor down with an ankle trip. The match soon got filthy with Smith not giving a clean break and tossing the former world champ to the outside. Smith continued with stiff forearms to the face on the outside, but Lawlor soon retaliated with chops and forearms so powerful that a lady in the front row had to recoil and shut her eyes from the action.

Smith locked in a rear naked choke back inside the ring, but Lawlor was just in reach of the bottom rope. Smith’s forearms were staggering Lawlor with each blow but the match was visibly taking its toll on both men by the 10 minute mark.

Lawlor fought back with a belly-to-back suplex for the first pinfall attempt of the match. He then unsuccessfully tried some Yes Kicks as Smith powered up and dropped Lawlor on his head with a high angle back suplex. Smith then added a great little detail as he grapevined Lawlor’s legs for his first cover attempt of the match.

Lawlor fought back and tried to lock in a rear naked choke of his own, but Smith fought him off. They had a reverse knife edge and open hand chop battle that Smith won with one single mighty blow to the face that caused visible sweat to fly from Lawlor’s body.

Once again, Lawlor fought back and barely got Smith over with a suplex. A side Russian leg sweep followed but once they hit the mat, Smith rolled through and got up to his feet. With their legs still intertwined, he locked in the Sharpshooter. Smith smoothly transitioned into the crossface but Lawlor scratched and clawed his way to the ropes just in time.

They both got their feet for another forearm battle that transitioned to open hand chops. In what looked like a deliberate attempt, Lawlor poked Smith in the eye, temporarily blinding him. Lawlor then hit a spinning heel kick while Smith was in the corner recovering. Lawlor locked in his own rear naked choke but Smith broke free and got Lawlor into the running powerslam position, but Lawlor slipped out the back and dropped him shoulder blades first onto his knee which was enough to pick up the pin and the victory.

After the match, Smith already had a black eye from what must have been a legitimate eye poke. Lawlor was interviewed by Kaci Lennox on the stage and said he holds his destiny in his hands and in a few short weeks, his contract in MLW is up. He questioned what to do, maybe he will return to the cage, maybe he will get a little “raw” or maybe he will lay a little smack? He called himself the hottest commodity in MLW and hottest thing in wrestling today.

**Next week **

– Zeda Zhang vs. The Spider Lady

– Mance Warner vs. Jimmy Havoc in a falls count anywhere match

Full Recap —

AJ Kirsch and Rich Bocchini welcomed us to Orlando, Florida for the first MLW Fusion after last week’s Saturday Night SuperFight pay-per-view. They hyped up this week’s main event title match between MLW Middleweight Champion Teddy Hart and Myron Reed.

– Josef Samael celebrated Jacob Fatu’s successful World Heavyweight Championship defense against LA Park at SuperFight as the rest of CONTRA marched around the ring. He said CONTRA want to tighten their grip on MLW, said gold is power, and that they want all the gold.

He called out the Von Erichs for their Tag Team titles, but also said he had an offer they couldn’t refuse. Same with The Hart Foundation, Teddy Hart, and the Middleweight title. Samael said he would personally rip Hart’s sparkly pajamas off his body and shove them up his ass.

Teddy Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Brian Pillman Jr. came out and answered his challenge and sent CONTRA Unit packing. Officials and referees then came ringside and separated the two factions.

– Mance Warner had a recorded message for Jimmy Havoc. He challenged him to a falls count anywhere match in Orlando, then called him a piece of sh*t.

Low Ki defeated Timothy Thatcher (16:31)

An excellent but grueling hard-hitting match here to kick things off. Thatcher dominated — but it was Low Ki who found a way to choke out his larger opponent and pick up a very hard-fought win.

They went nose-to-nose before the bell — revealing Thatcher’s height advantage over Ki. They then had a feeling out process early on where they both gave clean breaks, but Low Ki took advantage of the slower tempo by snapping on a cross armbreaker in the ropes at lightning quick speed.

Thatcher’s strength advantage eventually came into effect as he forced Ki to the mat on a test of strength, but another rope break stopped any submission attempt Thatcher had in mind.

Back from the break, Thatcher had Ki locked in a half crab and transitioned into a bow-and-arrow stretch. A CONTRA video interrupted, with Samael warning us that next week he will have an offer for someone that they will not be able to refuse.

Thatcher and Ki exchanged chops and European uppercuts, then Thatcher slammed Ki and dropped an elbow. The former champion got sent to the floor with another uppercut, but Ki fired back once he was back in the ring.

Ki ducked another strike, hit the ropes, and then went for a springboard, but he turned and was met with yet another uppercut to the jaw. Ki wisely rolled to the outside to avoid the pinfall. He stumbled and staggered and just got back in at the 19 count.

Ki fired up and fought back again. Thatcher went for a slingshot into the corner, but Ki landed on the middle ropes, immediately leapt off, and planted his double foot stomp Ki Crusher out of nowhere. Ki then landed some stiff kicks to the chest, but Thatcher roared up and hit a belly-to-belly suplex. A double underhook suplex followed as Ki kicked out once again at the 15-minute mark.

Ki rallied and locked in a dragon sleeper but couldn’t hold it for long. Thatcher powered up to his feet with Ki on his shoulders, but Ki transitioned into a choke. Thatcher fell to the mat — and the referee called for the bell.

– The Von Erichs had a recorded response for CONTRA Unit. They said they were ready to take on all comers. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor was with them and was asked about the rumors regarding his future. He had no comment and acted “uncharacteristically” according to Bocchini and Kirsch on commentary.

– Bocchini and Kirsch then hyped up the signing of King Mo and footage from his press conference later tonight.

– Myron Reed, Jordan Oliver and Kotto Brazil then had a recorded video for us saying they were not sorry for anything, and tonight there will be a trade: Gold for Justice.

– King Mo’s press conference was next. He said he is here to wreck shop and will fight in the moneyweight division. Mo mentioned LA Park and Jacob Fatu by name as potential opponents, and he’s open to tag team wrestling too.

Myron Reed defeated Teddy Hart to win the MLW Middleweight Championship (10:37)

This was a Teddy Hart and Myron Reed highlight reel as both pulled out all of their high-flying and jaw-dropping moves. As Hart was eyeing up the victory, his earlier scrap with CONTRA came back to haunt him as Samael’s fireball stopped him in his tracks and handed the victory and the title to Reed.

As he entered, Hart was announced as a participant in the upcoming Opera Cup tournament. He also told the camera he is coming after Jacob Fatu and the MLW World Heavyweight title.

Injustice got involved almost immediately, but Hart knocked them off the apron. The distraction was enough for Reed to take over and hit a big slingshot leg drop from the apron back inside.

Hart had gone after Brazil and Oliver on the outside again, so Reed launched himself from the ring twice — first with a suicide dive through the ropes, then with a huge no-touch plancha that turned into a splash as Hart was still getting to his feet after the first dive.

Inside, Reed Matrix avoided a right hand and sprung up with a kick to the head, a springboard Ace Crusher, and a big sit-down curtain call neckbreaker. Out of nowhere, Hart hit a Canadian Destroyer but didn’t follow up with a pin.

After jaw-jacking with Injustice, Hart hit Reed with a backstabber and a middle rope springboard corkscrew senton. He went up to the top this time and hit a massive moonsault, but Reed kicked out at the last minute. Hart followed up with his powerbomb backstabber, but Reed kicked out again.

Hart then hit two DDTs and looked like he had the match won. His first was his hammerlock DDT. For his second, he came off the top rope and caught the challenger and planted him in the center of the ring. As the ref was counting the pin, Oliver and Brazil got on the apron, but once again Hart knocked them off. When Reed then came charging, Hart sidestepped and tossed him out onto his friends too.

With assistance from the referee, Hart climbed the ropes again and hit a huge moonsault onto the three of them on the floor. He suplexed Oliver on top of Brazil to add insult to injury.

Back inside and up the top rope, Hart hit a Canadian Destroyer — but Brazil pulled the referee out before he could count to three. As the referee was trying to throw Brazil out of the arena, Oliver got into the ring and distracted Hart. From out of nowhere, Josef Samael came into the picture and threw a fireball into Hart’s face.

Reed then saw his opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. He leapt to the top rope and launched himself halfway across the ring and landed a picture-perfect 450 splash to pick up the shock win — and the MLW Middleweight title.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr. came running to Hart’s aid and kicked Injustice out of the ring as Fusion went off the air.

Full Recap —

CONTRA Unit opened up this week’s episode of Fusion with another of their propaganda videos. Josef Samael said that Promociones Dorado was looking for another member to fight tonight as El Hijo de LA Park was injured last week in the Tijuana Street Fight. MLW Champion Jacob Fatu said that his match with LA Park won’t be a “superfight…it will be a “f*cking massacre.”

MLW is still south of the border in Tijuana, Mexico, with The Crash Lucha Libre. AJ Kirsch and Rich Bocchini welcomed us as The Hart Foundation were making their entrance for their match.

The Hart Foundation (Brian Pillman Jr. & Davey Boy Smith Jr.) defeated Dragon Lee & Extreme Tiger (12:31)

This was a good little tag team opener here. The match got a good amount of time and told a nice story between the bigger Harts and the smaller and quicker Lee and Tiger. A miscommunication on a dive gave the Hart Foundation the 2-on-1 advantage and they finished Tiger off with a modified Hart Attack.

As Lee and Tiger were making their entrance, we heard that Pillman vs. Low Ki has been booked for Superfight next weekend. Pillman mocked Lee’s brother Rush with a Tranquilo pose at the start. Lee responded with one of his own after a swift early exchange between the two. Smith and Tiger then tagged in and had a brief chop battle that Smith, being the much larger of the two, got the better of. He then offered a handshake, which Tiger accepted, but Smith turned nasty and grabbed him, launching him across the ring with an overhead belly to belly as Pillman also ran and knocked Lee off the apron.

The Harts then took control using Smith’s power against his smaller opponents. The Foundation were also taunting the crowd as they tagged in and out and kept Tiger isolated. Pillman was able to fight back from a brief explosion of chops, and Smith showed his strength again, this time with a gut wrench suplex and a powerslam.

Tiger eventually saw an opportunity to fight back and boy, did he take it. He hit a step up kick to Pillman and then launched himself off the top rope and landed on Pillman with a seated senton directly in the groin. Lee got the hot tag and ran wild. He hit Smith with a single leg dropkick from the outside in and hit Pillman with a snap German. After a chop battle with Pillman, he ate a superkick but retaliated with a ripcord knee and a running knee after kicking out of a package suplex driver.

Lee took out Pillman with a headfirst suicide dive through the ropes, but then while holding Pillman for Tiger to hit him with one of his own, Pillman slipped out and Tiger took out his partner.

Smith then gorilla pressed Tiger back inside and set him up in the Hart Attack for Pillman to hit a springboard clothesline. Smith then picked up the win for his team with the jackknife cover.

— Bestia 666 was officially added to the Stairway to Hell match at Superfight so it is now a three-way between him, Mance Warner, and Jimmy Havoc.

— Salina de la Renta then had a recorded message for CONTRA. She said she is the law and the constant in MLW. She said Promociones Dorado are taking back the MLW world title, and regarding the “war” between CONTRA and PD, she said, “the sh*t is on”. She added that LA Park will hang Fatu from the phone wires outside Cicero Stadium and told them to prepare to bow down and kiss her ring.

— LA Park then had a simple message for CONTRA after they took out his son last week: he is going to break their f*cking faces.

— Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic was next. They are still celebrating being back in the USA. Holliday wanted to rub disinfectant on his hands before putting his Louis Vuitton air pods back in, because “he was just in Mexico, of course!” While Hammerstone and MJF were having a drink and talking about how Hammerstone brought his Mexican pharmacy purchases back with him and didn’t get caught. They proposed a toast to winning, to America, and the Dynasty.

— The Von Erichs then had a message in response to the Dynasty. They questioned their partying and threatened a Superfight hangover once they were done with them next week.

— H2tv showed highlights of the Hart Foundation at a fan meet and greet in Mexico.

Terror Azteca & Proximo defeated Torito Negro & Toto (2:52)

This was a very quick Lucha rules tag match, mostly due to the Superfight commercial break in the middle of it. I assume this lasted longer live. When we came back from the break, Toto was dumped on the outside by Proximo who then climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit him with a splash off the top rope to the floor.

In the ring, Azteca hit a missile dropkick on Torito and then hit him with a running twisting headscissors spike for the win with a very quick three count from the referee.

— Another video package for Jacob Fatu and LA Park aired, this time from the stance of Salina de la Renta and Promociones Dorado.

Promociones Dorado (LA Park, Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf) defeated CONTRA Unit (Josef Samael, Ikuro Kwon & Simon Gotch) (15:51)

LA Park was the big star here as the Mexican fans had to wait all night to see the legend in action in the main event of the Tijuana tapings. He did not let them down and took out the remaining members of CONTRA on his way to his battle with MLW Champion Jacob Fatu next week.

A huge six-way brawl opened things up, but CONTRA were quick to take control. Gotch and Bestia, along with Wolf and Kwon, were on the outside as Samael beat down LA with fists and headbutts. Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf are The Crash tag team champions but they didn’t fair too well in the opening sequences as CONTRA were in complete control.

They all got back into the ring and it wasn’t long before Bestia, Kwon, and then Mecha Wolf all hit dives to the outside with Wolf nearly spearing Kwon through the guardrail and into the front row. Gotch came off the apron with a clothesline, but then, to the absolute delight of the Mexican crowd, the incredible LA Park came off the top rope with a crossbody to the floor on top of everybody!

The hometown favorites then took control with chair shots on the outside. Inside, Bestia hit a doomsday clothesline on Kwon and took out Gotch with a soccer kick to the face.

After 10 minutes of all-out action, the match settled into a traditional tag match with partners on the apron. LA knocked Samael out with a running pair of basement knees but Samael kicked out on instinct. Samael fought back with a DDT for a two count of his own. The traditional tag rules were out the window two minutes later. Bestia and Wolf hit Kwon and Gotch with superkicks and then Wolf took out Gotch with another bullet-like flying headfirst suicide dive.

We then had a quick conveyor belt of a big move/pin/next one in to make the save. Bestia hit his muscle buster on Kwon, who was quickly followed by Wolf with a 450 but Gotch made the save for his team. Gotch hit Bestia with a ripcord big boot and a brainbuster, but LA made the save. LA then took out Gotch with a basement dropkick, but Samael came back in and took out LA.

Bestia and Gotch then had a staredown that ended in a musclebuster from Bestia, but when Wolf went for his 450 again, Kwon sprayed red mist in his eyes. Samael then threw a fireball at Bestia but turned straight into a spear from LA Park for the #1 contender to pick up the win.

Next Week —

  • Saturday Night SuperFight airs live on PPV. There will also be a one-hour pre-show airing for free on beIN Sports, MLW’s YouTube channel, Fite TV, inDemand, DirectTV, and Dish starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time.

MLW Fusion results and video: Jimmy Havoc’s Slaughterhouse

Big Takeaways —

  • Jimmy Havoc defeated death match legends Damian 666 and Savio Vega in a triple threat main event.
  • The CONTRA Unit and Promociones Dorado feud continued when Josef Samael orchestrated a plan to take out El Hijo de LA Park during their Tijuana street fight.
  • Los Haraganes defeated Triple Amenaza in a crazy six-man tag opener.
  • Mance Warner vs. Jimmy Havoc and The Dynasty vs The Von Erichs were made official for MLW Saturday Night SuperFight.

Full Recap —

We opened with Rich Bocchini catching up with Marshall and Ross Von Erich after The Dynasty had their scheduled match pulled off last week’s show. They were frustrated at it not taking place but reassured us it will take happen at the Saturday Night SuperFight PPV in Chicago on November 2 in a Texas Tornado tag match.

The usual opening MLW video was replaced with a special ‘Jimmy Havoc’s Slaughterhouse’ edition. We then saw the executive producer of the week himself as he introduced us to the show and told us there would be a lot of blood and violence, and he will walk away as the greatest hardcore wrestler on the planet.

Los Haraganes (Animal, Demencia & Silver Star) defeated Triple Amenaza (Arandu, Star Boy & Zarco) (10:14)

This was crazy lucha libre at its best with referees cheating for the good guys by fast counting, blood, weapons, and wild action. After all that, Los Haraganes picked up the win with a triple-triple powerbomb on Star Boy.

These six have been feuding for the last year and it showed right from the get-go. Los Haraganes jumped their opponents before they got into the ring with a trifecta of dives to the outside. They immediately triple-teamed Arandu as he ate a face-first suplex from the middle rope, a top rope splash, and then an absolutely devastating looking top rope double foot stomp to the groin as he was held open ala D-Von Dudley and the “Whaaaasupp” headbutt. Zarco then ate a guillotine leg drop and Star Boy didn’t fare any better.

In the early going, the commentary team were calling everyone by the wrong name. In one exchange where no one tagged in or out, Arandu was called Zarco, then Arandu, and then Zarco again. Star Boy got the better of Los Haraganes by sending Demencia sliding face-first out the ring and into the guard rail.

A CONTRA Unit video interrupted the match talking about Jacob Fatu’s match with LA Park at SuperFight.

Back to the action, Star Boy hit a double underhook piledriver on Silver Star but Animal came in and cut him off. Arandu and Star Boy were both bleeding from the forehead. Everyone then took turns coming in for a spot as the match slowed down. Power move then submission and then next one in to break the hold…repeat.

The action broke down again as Silver Star hit a springboard arm drag to Star Boy off the apron and into a wooden board at ringside. Arandu and Zarco then tried to make the save but both ended up going through boards when they missed a pair of spears through the ropes. Zarco landed directly on his head in a horrible looking landing. Los Haraganes then got the win soon after, even with a very deliberate slow count, after they triple powerbombed Star Boy three times in a row.

— LA Park then cut a promo backstage in Spanish where he told Fatu he was going to break his damn f*cking face and was going to end him.

— H2tv was next up as Brian Pillman was poolside with a friend in a bikini. He was laughing and making fun of how Low Ki talked to him in their confrontation last week.

The Josef Samael vs. El Hijo de LA Park Tijuana street fight ended in a no contest (04:01)

Jimmy Havoc introduced this one from outside the arena where the fight took place. He was with Salina de la Renta, El Hijo de LA Park, and a referee but when Samael jumped Hijo out of nowhere, the fight was on.

Samael hammered Hijo up against a chain fence and headbutted him. He got face-to-face with Salina and pie-faced her away. Salina was screaming at Hijo to get up and he did, slamming Samael through a wooden board.

Simon Gotch and Ikuro Kwon ran into and beat Hijo down. Salina quickly got on her phone and ordered everyone to “get here now” but they did not come in time as Hijo was beaten down as the camera cut off.

— Mance Warner had a recorded message for Havoc, challenging him to a Stairway To Hell match at SuperFight as barbed wire will be hanging above the ring. Havoc accepted the challenge and told Warner that the Stairway to Hell was the first death match he ever watched, so he has studied everything there is to do and is going to enjoy it.

— Lifestyles of the Rich and Dynastic was up next. They were singing God Bless America on a rooftop celebrating that they were back home. Hammerstone brought up the tag title defense against the Von Erichs and Holliday dropped the bombshell on MJF that his lawyer/father got them out of the match in Mexico. However, the match now has to take place in Chicago instead.

Hammerstone thought the Texas Tornado rules meant that no shoes are allowed. Holliday wanted to change it to a Dynasty Tornado match, but they agreed to go make themselves feel better and go sailing on a yacht.

Jimmy Havoc defeated Damian 666 (w/ Salina de la Renta) and Savio Vega in a no DQ triangle match (9:48)

Havoc got a good reaction from the Tijuana crowd and gave Vega and Damian the two fingers to start things off, but they responded by kicking him out the ring. He then brought in cookie sheets but Damian no-sold them and smacked Havoc over the head with them instead.

Vega went wild with quick combination kendo stick shots. Damian whipped both men with belts and went to work on Havoc with a chair, but he ended up going head first into it when Havoc reversed a whip and sent him into his own creation. Then, we got the same situation in the opposite corner but with Vega and a trash can.

Havoc put thumbtacks onto a seated chair but ended up sitting on the chair first and then went face-first into it after a drop toehold by Damian. Vega added insult to injury by slamming Havoc back first into the same tack covered chair.

Vega then brought a table in and by the rules of hardcore matches, he should go through it. He tried to set Havoc up on it, but England’s Most Dangerous Man got up and crotched him on the top rope. Vega was then bundled out by Damian and superplexed through the table. Havoc snuck back in, tossed Damian out and hit Vega with the Acid Rainmaker short-arm clothesline to pick up the win.

Havoc beat up Damian 666 after the bell but Bestia 666 made the save for his dad as Fusion went off the air.

MLW Fusion results: Austin Aries vs. Brian Pillman Jr.

Main takeaways

  • Austin Aries defeated Brian Pillman Jr. and then called out Teddy Hart which led to a brawl, seemingly leading to a match at Saturday Night Superfight.
  • LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park defeated Septimo Dragon and Magnus in a great tag team match.
  • Dominic Garrini made short work of Ariel Dominguez in his debut.

Full review

Los Parks (LA Park and El Hijo de LA Park) w/Salina de la Renta defeated Magnus and Septimo Dragon

We opened this week’s episode of Fusion with a Mexican Lucha Rules tag team match: no tags needed when a partner leaves the ring, no disqualification and non-stop action. Magnus and Dragon had a great outing and matched up to Los Parks well. But it was the Parks that took the victory after some outside interference from Salina de la Renta.

Quite out of character, the Parks offered their opponents a handshake at the start of the match, but they quickly resumed normal procedure when they blindsided them with a pair of chops. From there, the action was non-stop. They spilled to the outside. Around ringside and inside the ring, Los Parks used chairs and their belts on Magnus and Dragon.

After controlling the early exchanges, LA was sent to the outside after a head scissors by Magnus, who followed up on both Parks with a slingshot corkscrew crossbody. Dragon then hit an Asai moonsault to the floor too. LA ended up crotched on the top rope and Hijo was hit with a Spanish Fly from Septimo Dragon. Magnus then followed with a Senton from the top, too.

Hijo then hit Dragon with an assisted Spanish Fly from the top rope then LA speared Magnus but amazingly both Magnus and Dragon kicked out at two. Moments later, Los Parks hit duelling crossbodies into the crowd from opposite corners of the ring. LA is 53 years old and still pulling off these aerial moves…incredible!

Back inside the ring, Dragon broke up a pin attempt with a double foot stomp, so Hijo came in and had a forearm exchange with him. Dragon got the better of it but Hijo caught him coming off the ropes with a dropkick to the face. Hijo followed up with a double knee facebreaker.

Dragon hit Hijo with a GTS and then a soccer kick to the head, but Hijo popped up and hit a swift, smooth and quick Canadian/Mexican destroyer. The crowd gave a little “holy Sh*t” chant for the quickness of the move.

LA and Magnus were back in next. LA missed a spear in the corner and collided head first with the ring post, but de la Renta pulled the ref out before he could count the three on LA. Hijo then hit a Back Stabber on Dragon for a near fall and took him out with a suicide dive moments later.

Magnus and LA ended up in the corner. The referee tried to pull Magnus off after a barrage of right hands, but it ended up with both he and Magnus on the mat. LA climbed the ropes and leaped off, Magnus moved, and LA squashed the referee. De la Renta then got involved and kicked Magnus low and LA rolled him up for the win.

As Los Parks were celebrating, a CONTRA propaganda video aired that had Jacob Fatu and Josef Samael tell LA Park that November 2nd will be the day of the dead of LA Park, and of course, “All hail CONTRA.”

— Rich Bocchini told us that Austin Aries had been fined $10,000 for his attack on Teddy Hart last week. But Hart had his own personal doctors clear him to attend tonight’s show.

— The MLW cameras caught up with the Von Erich brothers. They said if the Dynasty wanted to insult them and the state of Texas, they wanted to challenge them to a match next week in Mexico.

— Bocchini then caught up with The Dynasty and asked them for a response. MJF and Richard Holliday told him that basically, their contracts wouldn’t allow them to compete in Mexico, so any match with the Von Erichs is off.

— “Filthy” Tom Lawlor vs Timothy Thatcher and Alexander Hammerstone defending his National Openweight title against Davey Boy Smith Jr. are officially booked for the MLW Saturday Night Superfight PPV on November 2nd.

Dominic Garrini defeated Ariel Dominguez

This was a a strong start for Garrini in MLW. For those not familiar with him, he is a straight shooting, Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi wearing submission machine. MLW also gave him a Street Fighter style opening video and song. This was a short and sweet match. They chain wrestled for a minute or so but Garrini was always in control. He gave Dominguez a hip toss and a deadlift overhead throw. Dominguez hit him with a fireman’s carry takeover but Garrini swiftly rolled through, took him down and locked in an armbar for the win.

After the match, Kaci Lennox interview Garrini where he called out Lawlor and Thatcher.

— Cameras caught up Lawlor who told us that if Thatcher wants to call him out, then he will make sure that his missing tooth won’t be the only one missing after he is finished with him.

— We were shown pictures of Mance Warner after his match with Jimmy Havoc and told he suffered a collapsed lung. A video package then played for Havoc and his “slaughterhouse” on October 19th.

— A Gino Medina hype video aired for his upcoming debut. It said the next generation of greatness is coming, and the world will be his “el intocable”. They call him “The Untouchable”.

— Injustice (Kotto Brazil, Jordan Oliver and Myron Reed) had a promo calling out MLW officials for their handling of last week’s match. They complained that Brazil was pinned even though he wasn’t the legal man. Oliver said it didn’t matter what happened, because in the end, they were going to get their justice.

Austin Aries defeated Brian Pillman Jr.

This was a good main event here to continue the Aries vs. Teddy Hart feud. Pillman tried his best, but the experience of Aries rang out in the end. Aries tried and tried to hit the Brainbuster on the apron, the same move he injured Hart with last week. He eventually did, albeit inside the ring, but picked up the win nonetheless. Pillman started strong. He ate a slap from Aries but begged for another then turned it round on and rubbed a spit filled hand back in Aries’ face.

Pillman chopped Aries in and out of the ring and hit an axe handle to the floor, but was soon cut off when Aries knocked him to the floor after an attempted springboard clothesline.

Aries then torpedoed him with a suicide dive and a missile dropkick. He later tried to brainbuster Pillman on the apron but was blocked.

Pillman fired back with a snap suplex but Aries kicked out by slapping Pillman’s ears. Pillman then went for his swinging neckbreaker finisher but Aries reversed it into a northern lights suplex for a two count and transitioned into the Last Chancery submission, but Pillman got to the ropes in time.

Aries tried another brainbuster on the apron but Pillman blocked it once more. He hit a superkick and went for a suicide dive but Aries cut him off with a European uppercut. Aries fired up himself and hit a running dropkick in the corner, followed by his own brainbuster for the 1, 2, 3.

After the match, Aries got on the mic and called out Teddy Hart, who obliged and made his way out against MLW doctor’s orders. They brawled to end the episode with Tony Schiavone begging officials to make the match official for MLW Saturday Night Superfight.

MLW Fusion results: Mance Warner vs. Jimmy Havoc Bunkhouse match

Big Takeaways —

  • Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc in a bloody and brutal Bunkhouse match. However, Havoc had the last laugh after the bell.
  • Air Wolf & Gringo Loco defeated Injustice (Myron Reed & Kotto Brazil w/ Jordan Oliver) after a nasty looking injury to Brazil.
  • Timothy Thatcher defeated Douglas James in an excellent technical heavyweight vs. middleweight encounter.

Full Recap —

We opened Fusion with a video recap from last week where Austin Aries attacked Teddy Hart and gave him a brainbuster on the ring apron.

Air Wolf & Gringo Loco defeated Injustice (Myron Reed & Kotto Brazil w/ Jordan Oliver) (7:46)

This was a good tag match while it lasted, but it was cut short after Brazil took a bad fall off a three-man electric chair.

Earlier today, Injustice were protesting outside the building, and from before the match, we saw a recorded message saying they were coming for their justice. We were shown a recap of this ongoing feud as Gringo Loco and Air Wolf were entering. Oliver defeated Zenshi after interference from Reed last week, and last month Gringo Loco used brass knuckles on Reed during a six-man tag — supposedly injuring his ribs.

The referee removed a chain and another pair of brass knuckles from Brazil before the bell.

Loco hit Brazil with a standing moonsault early on and an overhead belly-to-belly throw into the corner. Reed’s chest protector was put to good use as Wolf’s chop did not affect him. Reed hit a big slingshot leg drop on Loco and Injustice beat him down from there. Reed caught Loco with a step-up kick in the corner, then Brazil powerbombed him out of the corner for a two count.

Loco got some respite when he reversed a whip to the corner. Wolf caught Reed with a step-up kick and Loco dropped him with a big overhead face-first slam.

Reed and Brazil found themselves stuck up the same turnbuckle, so Loco set them up in a double electric chair position. He got them up and fell back. But as Brazil was at the top of the totem pole, he fell the furthest and the back of his head smacked the mat.

It was a scary looking landing and Brazil looked knocked out. A quick camera cut happened and Wolf pinned Brazil. This looked like it was cut short, and if Brazil was legit knocked out, it was the correct decision. I hope he recovers and is okay because that fall and his head hitting the mat looked like a real bad one.

After the bell, Injustice (including Brazil) attacked the referee Frank Gastineau. When others tried to help him to the back, Injustice returned and put the boots to them too.

– We then saw a recorded message from Mance Warner and his uncle. Warner said he came all the way down to see him beat the sh*t out of Jimmy Havoc in the Bunkhouse match. There will be blood. And as God as his witness, Warner is putting Havoc down.

– Brian Pillman Jr. then joined us via satellite with an update on Teddy Hart. He said he was just off the phone with Bret Hart and he said that Teddy has been permanently injured from the Austin Aries attack last week. Pillman called out Aries and warned him before their match next week.

The cameras had also caught up with Salina de la Renta in the parking lot before tonight’s show. They asked what strategy Havoc has for the Bunkhouse match tonight, but de la Renta blew the cameraman off and told him that she will tell everyone when she wants, not when they ask.

– We then saw the Von Erich family at a local Dallas children’s hospital. They were visiting old friends when The Dynasty arrived. MJF said he wanted to replace all the doctors with poker tables. He shook their hands and seemed surprised they had shoes on.

MJF and Richard Holliday explained why they were there — to buy the building and turn it into a casino. Kevin Von Erich ended up knocking Holliday’s coffee out of his hand, which caused him to hyperventilate.

Timothy Thatcher defeated Douglas James (9:02)

Thatcher’s second MLW outing and James’ debut was a good one. They both did not disappoint as they put on a very technical, hard-hitting, and well-structured match. The larger Thatcher seemed to have James’ number and was able to power out of all his submission attempts. But James put up a great fight and should slot very nicely into the middleweight division ranks.

We were told James is an undefeated kickboxer but was giving up a lot of height to the much taller Thatcher. James reversed a single-leg crab into a kneebar early on, which was the story of the match in the opening exchanges — both wrestlers going to ground and focusing on the lower limbs.

James floored Thatcher with a big clothesline before laying in some kicks to the chest, but Thatcher caught one, turned it into an ankle lock, and transitioned into a bow-and-arrow hold. A belly-to-belly followed and James kicked out at two.

Thatcher locked in another single crab while James was hanging out of the ring, but James fought back and locked in an armbar. The larger Thatcher powered out and hit a pair of deadlift gutwrench slams.

James had a spirited fight-back with knees to the body and head and a superkick to the jaw that got him a two count. They exchanged chops and James hit a spinning back fist, but Thatcher shook it off, reached back, and overhead chopped James right in the face.

But James didn’t give up. Once he shook the cobwebs off, he leapt to his feet, locked in a guillotine choke, and hit a high knee when Thatcher once again fought out. He then went up top and leapt off and was looking for a horizontal rotating splash, but Thatcher got his knees up and quickly locked in a Fujiwara armbar. James immediately tapped out.

– Kaci Lennox interviewed Thatcher after the match. He put James over, telling us to keep an eye on James and that he was a great fighter. James reiterated the comments back to Thatcher and said he would fight him any day of the week. Thatcher then put out a challenge to “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. He said Lawlor vs. Thatcher sounds like a SuperFight…doesn’t it?

– We were then backstage with Havoc and a handheld camera. Warner had set up some farmer style dummies in his locker room and rammed pitchforks through them. Havoc told Warner he lives for this kind of stuff, and after licking the pitchfork, told Warner he was screwed.

– Warner was then with Lennox and his trusted whiteboard. He told Lennox to draw a bale of hay, a pitchfork, a pumpkin, a chair, and a door on the whiteboard. He told Havoc he is coming for him and is bringing his spittoon with him.

Mance Warner defeated Jimmy Havoc in a Bunkhouse match (11:38)

The crowd immediately started the “USA” chants at the sight of Warner waving the stars and stripes. In one corner of the ring, there was a cowbell, another had three bales of hay, another had a hoe and a bucket, and the fourth had a very seasonal pumpkin. Havoc was wielding a shovel around the ring, but when Warner got on the apron during his entrance, Havoc hit him with a running knee and the weapons-filled mayhem was on.

Havoc choked Warner with the flag and exploded a bale of hay over his head. Warner hit Havoc with a handle of a rake and whipped him into a wooden whiskey barrel. Havoc went for the cowbell but missed, so Warner hit him with it instead. A “more cowbell” chant started — for all you SNL, Christopher Walken, and Will Ferrell fans out there.

Warner wanted more cowbell and explored the space around the ring by sending Havoc sailing into the timekeeper’s table with the cowbell rope wrapped around his neck, but Havoc retaliated with a ring bell shot to the head.

Three different bells were then involved as Havoc — who certainly wasn’t fearing the reaper — rested the ring bell against Warner’s groin then swung the cowbell high above his head and brought it crashing down onto Ol’ Mancer. A fan asked Havoc what was wrong with him, and Havoc responded: “EVERYTHING is wrong with me.”

Havoc knocked Warner into the crowd with a bucket and choked him with a shovel to the throat. Warner recovered and whacked Havoc in the face with a chair. He then swung and missed Havoc with the shovel handle and was rolled back into the ring.

Havoc dragged a rake down Warner’s back and across his forehead. Warner fought back with a chop to the back, an eye poke, and a rake handle between the legs. He then hit him with the butt end of the rake for a two count.

Warner set up a wooden door in the corner of the ring but missed a pumpkin shot to the head when Havoc ducked. As Warner was apologizing to the fan in the front row who now had pumpkin all over his shirt, Havoc staple gunned Warner in the testicles — twice.

Havoc brought out another pumpkin and stapled Warner’s tongue to it! After the initial shock, Warner ripped it off and DDTed Havoc onto the same pumpkin. Havoc, wearing the pumpkin like a Halloween character, then ate Warner’s running Knee Pad Up/Knee Pad Down but kicked out at two.

Warner set up a second door between two chairs, but Havoc hit him with a German suplex into the hay bales and then gave him a Death Valley Driver through the door in the corner. He then stapled Warner’s tongue again — this time to the door in the middle of the ring. Warner again ripped his stapled tongue off of the wood and then superplexed Havoc through the same door.

Havoc stumbled to his feet, then Warner floored him with a big lariat and picked up the win.

As Warner was celebrating, Havoc brought out barbed wire from one of the hay bales and knocked Warner down with it. He then began stabbing the barbed wire into Warner’s forehead.

Officials entered the ring and tried to get Havoc off, but he shoved them off, sat on Warner’s back, wrapped the barbed wire around his FACE AND MOUTH, and pulled back. Officials tried again, but Havoc began swinging and knocked some of them down. He began biting Warner’s bloodied forehead for good measure too. Warner picked up the win, but Havoc had the last — bloodied — laugh.
