Left My Wallet: EVOLVE’s Gabe Sapolsky on indie wrestling, baseball

‘Left My Wallet’ is back with EVOLVE VP of talent relations and creative Gabe Sapolsky!

One of the most cutting edge minds in the wrestling business of the last 25 years starts by talking about his love of baseball. The fellow New England native and I discuss our mutual love of the Red Sox growing up and the memories we have growing up with their heartache throughout the 80s and 90s.

Gabe talks about going to Fenway Park, his love of the 80s era Celtics, the magic that encapsulated Boston sports back then, and more. He then describes what endeared him to also become a fan of Philadelphia sports, the defining moment that led him to love the Phillies, his favorite player, and his excellent booking dea for making baseball more interesting and creating those can’t miss pitcher vs. hitter matchups.

Gabe also discusses the huge events coming up for EVOLVE this weekend, their talented roster, and his outlook for independent wrestling in 2020.

Left My Wallet: Wrestling stories with Barry Horowitz

Left My Wallet returns with one of the more interesting pro wrestling characters from the 80s and 90s, Barry Horowitz.

We all know Barry as the guy who patted himself on the back, but you’ll get to know another side of the former WWF and WCW competitor as he talks football, MMA, nutrition, and some of the intricacies of in-ring work.

He talks about his love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and dislike for Jameis Winston, working a dark match with Ken Shamrock before the UFC Hall-of-Famer even started in MMA, his workout and nutrition regimen, and what keeps him looking virtually the same now at almost 60 as when he was 30.

Barry and I then delve into the worker’s aspect of talking pro wrestling as Barry discusses who the best and smoothest worker he ever stepped in the ring with was, working for All Japan, his amateur wrestling career, the one piece of coaching advice Jake Roberts gave to him, famous shooters, the amateur style that was a hallmark of Florida Championship Wrestling, training with Dean Malenko, and so much more.

It’s an in-depth discussion about various topics with one of the most memorable enhancement talents of all time.

We also discuss some fantasy football and who he thinks can help carry your team to the fantasy playoffs.

Finally, we delve into this years Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame ballot. Mike states his case for why Enrique Torres is a no-brainer for induction and we talk about polarizing candidates as Bill Goldberg, CM Punk, and Sgt. Slaughter. I try to make my case for the Hardy Boyz.

Left My Wallet: Vinny vs. Producer Rob

Left My Wallet is back for a second show this week as I’m joined by Vinny Verhei and Producer Rob as we preview their big week 1 WO/FFO fantasy football league clash for Rob’s fantasy football title belt!

As heard on Wednesday’s Bryan, Vinny, and Craig show, Rob put his illustrious title on the line at the urging and taunting of Bryan Alvarez. There ws some heated trash talk, so I now have both competitors on the show to talk about their teams, to preview this week’s matchup and, of course, trash talk. Vinny also discusses his thoughts on Antonio Brown, Julio Jones’ contract status, and why Lamar Jackson is going to go off vs. the porous Miami defense.

We recorded at halftime of the Packers-Bears Thursday night season opener, so it’s a quick and fun 15 minute mini-Polanco to kick off a fun NFL season!

Left My Wallet: Observer league live fantasy football draft

“Left My Wallet” returns with the first ever Wrestling Observer Fantasy Football League live draft!

It’s the inaugural season of the Observer league featuring some of your favorite personalities and show hosts from the site. Producer Rob and I called numerous owners in our league including Mike Sempervive, Garrett Gonzales, Paul Fontaine, Sidney Bakabella, and “Filthy” Tom during the draft. Find out what they thought of their teams, who had the first overall pick, and who he took. Also, find out who drafted a kicker in the second round!

Just like the Christmas show, we called a bunch of our favorite website personalities, but it didn’t come without its glitches. Skype was acting up, so I edited the show down to each of the calls, but note there is also an echo on some of them.

Mainly, it’s a bunch of drunk fantasy football owners trying to navigate through Skype while making their own picks. It’s far from perfect, but is a fun listen. If you’re a fantasy football fan, this glorious mess is for you.
