KO Show, US title match set for next week’s WWE SmackDown

The KO Show, a United States title defense, plus two more matches have been announced for the May 26 episode of WWE SmackDown.

On the eve of Night of Champions, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will appear as guest on the KO Show with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Reigns and Sikoa will challenge Owens and Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions on Saturday, May 27.

Austin Theory will defend the United States Championship against Sheamus on next week’s episode. Theory called out Sheamus in a promo segment on this week’s show, then Sheamus left Theory laying with a Brogue Kick.

Kevin Owens returns to WWE TV on Raw, hosts KO Show

Kevin Owens was back on WWE TV tonight during Raw.

He returned hosting a KO Show featuring Riddle as his guest. He said he had taken a few weeks off in order to calm down over his recent feud with Ezekiel. He said he no longer cared about the Ezekiel/Elias/Elrod situation and wished them the best.

Owens then turned his attention to Riddle and suggested they team together, going by the name BroKO. Riddle called him a liar and was uninterested. It eventually turned out to be a setup, with Rollins attacking Riddle, who became distracted as Rollins’ music was playing. He eventually gave Riddle two stomps.

A rematch between Owens and Ezekiel was originally set for the June 27 edition of Raw. However, the match never took place, with announcer Jimmy Smith saying that the match had to be rescheduled. It was later reported that Owens wasn’t at Raw due to an issue that was “nothing serious”.

During his absence from WWE TV, Owens appeared on the NHL Draft, surprising hockey coach Bruce Boudreau.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: The KO Show with Sami Zayn

Raw’s Kevin Owens came to SmackDown last night and had a reunion with Sami Zayn.

Owens and Zayn were briefly back on the same page as Zayn appeared on the KO Show last night. Zayn supported Owens in his campaign against Ezekiel, saying that Ezekiel and Elias are clearly the same person.

But Zayn changed his tune after Owens called him out for not actually being in The Bloodline. Owens wanted Zayn to drop everything he’s doing on SmackDown and come to Raw, but Zayn said The Bloodline needs him. Owens called Zayn naive and delusional and said Zayn was acting like a moron.

Zayn responded by telling Owens that Ezekiel and Elias are clearly two different people. Zayn said everyone sees it except Owens. Zayn and Owens then went back and forth calling each other a liar and a moron.

Owens asked why The Bloodline left Zayn high and dry on Raw if they’re so tight with him. Owens then tried to call The Bloodline out to the ring to join Zayn, but they didn’t come out. When Owens said The Bloodline couldn’t care less about Zayn, Zayn left the ring and told Owens that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

The segment ended with Owens stunning two crew members who were taking down the KO Show set.

Also on last night’s SmackDown, Drew McIntyre was The New Day’s mystery partner for a match against The Brawling Brutes, Ronda Rousey & Raquel Rodriguez teamed up after Shayna Baszler & Natalya interrupted their match, and more.

Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Rodriguez, KO Show segment set for WWE SmackDown

WWE has made a pair of new announcements for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will face Raquel Rodriguez in a non-title match on SmackDown tonight. Also set for the episode is a KO Show segment with Raw star Kevin Owens.

This will be the second match between Rousey and Rodriguez within a two-week period. Earlier this month, Rodriguez answered a SmackDown Women’s Championship open challenge that was issued by Rousey. Rousey won the match when she reversed Rodriguez’s Chingona Bomb into a pin.

Rousey and Rodriguez shook hands after their match.

On last week’s SmackDown, Rodriguez defeated Shotzi.

Owens is currently involved in a storyline with Ezekiel on Raw and is attempting to prove that Ezekiel is actually Elias. Owens vs. Ezekiel is set for WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on Sunday, June 5.

“Kevin Owens has been on a crusade to uncover the truth about Ezekiel with his frustrations boiling over to the point of locking horns with Elias’ younger brother at Hell in a Cell,” WWE wrote.

“Tonight, ‘The KO Show’ rolls into SmackDown as the outspoken Superstar looks to air his grievances and convince a new audience to join his personal vendetta. Who will be the special guest on tonight’s edition of ‘The KO Show,’ and what fireworks are set to erupt on the always explosive talk show?”

Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas is hosting SmackDown tonight. Here’s the updated lineup:

  • Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch vs. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & a mystery partner
  • Non-title match: SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Rodriguez
  • The KO Show with Kevin Owens

Reigns ceremony, KO Show, IC title match set for WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced two segments and a title match for this Friday’s post-Clash of Champions episode of SmackDown.

– After retaining his Universal Championship against his cousin Jey Uso at Clash of Champions, there will be a segment on SmackDown where Roman Reigns will officially be crowned as the tribal chief of the Anoa’i family:

It was about more than just the title at WWE Clash of Champions. It was about asserting his place at the head of the table for Roman Reigns.

After successfully defending his Universal Championship, Reigns will now be officially crowned the Tribal Chief in a ceremony presided over by Paul Heyman on SmackDown this Friday. The recognition comes on the heels of The Big Dog’s brutal victory over his cousin Jey Uso at WWE Clash of Champions.

What will Reigns have to say about his vicious actions? And will the rest of the legendary Anoa’i family simply accept the champion’s crowning?

Don’t miss Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 C on FOX to see the latest from Reigns.

– Raw’s Kevin Owens will make an appearance on SmackDown as he hosts a KO Show segment with Alexa Bliss as his guest this Friday. Owens’ appearance is part of the brand-to-brand invitational.

There was an angle last week where Bliss snapped during her match against Lacey Evans when The Fiend’s music played. When Reigns entered last week as Bliss was heading to the back, Bliss stared at Reigns and the Universal Championship. It was mentioned on commentary that Reigns took the title from The Fiend.

Bliss’ tag team partner Nikki Cross was supposed to challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions, but that match was pulled from the card and it was announced that Cross wasn’t medically cleared to compete. Bayley instead defended her title against Asuka. After the match ended in a disqualification, Sasha Banks attacked Bayley.

– New Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will defend his title against Jeff Hardy on this Friday’s SmackDown. Zayn, who had been claiming to be the rightful Intercontinental Champion since making his return to WWE television in August, defeated Hardy and AJ Styles in a triple threat match for the title at Clash of Champions. The finish of the match included Zayn handcuffing both Hardy and Styles.

KO Show with Aleister Black announced for WWE Raw

For the first time since the angle where his eye was attacked last month, Aleister Black is returning to Raw.

WWE has announced that Black will appear on the KO Show on Monday’s post-SummerSlam edition of Raw:

Aleister Black returns to Raw on Monday as a guest on Kevin Owens’ ‘KO Show.’ Black has been out of action since July 27, when Seth Rollins laid him out with a Stomp on the outside before Murphy viciously drove his right eye into the steel steps.

What will Black have to say upon his return on the night after SummerSlam? Find out on Monday, live on Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network.

Owens was part of the commentary team for The Street Profits’ Raw Tag Team title defense against Andrade & Angel Garza at SummerSlam. He announced that there will be a KO Show segment on Monday’s Raw and that he’s inviting Black to appear.

This will be the first Raw of the ThunderDome era. WWE has announced that Keith Lee will appear on the episode. There will also be a Raw Underground match between Ivar of The Viking Raiders and Dolph Ziggler.

KO Show segment with Ric Flair set for WWE Starrcade special

This year’s WWE Starrcade will include an appearance by the event’s most iconic performer.

WWE announced today that Ric Flair will appear on a KO Show segment with Kevin Owens at Starrcade on Sunday (December 1). The segment will be part of the WWE Network portion of the show.

Starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time, one hour from Starrcade will air live on the WWE Network on Sunday. The show is taking place at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia.

Two matches have also been confirmed for the Starrcade Network special. Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane will defend their titles against Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks & Bayley, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way match. Rusev will also face Bobby Lashley in a last man standing match.

This is the third straight year that WWE has held a Starrcade show. Flair also made appearances in 2017 and 2018, with him taking part in a segment with Elias last year.

Bayley vs. Evans, KO Show with Ziggler set for WWE SmackDown

WWE has added another match and a KO Show segment to the lineup for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will face Lacey Evans in a non-title match tonight, with Evans appearing as part of the Wild Card rule. Dolph Ziggler will also make an appearance on the Kevin Owens Show.

Bayley & Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair & Evans on last week’s SmackDown. Bayley pinned Charlotte to get the win.

Kofi Kingston will defend his WWE Championship against Ziggler at Super ShowDown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 7. The build to that match began as Ziggler returned to WWE television and laid out Kingston last week. He also attacked Kingston on Raw last night. Ziggler then fought with Xavier Woods, and Kingston made the save as Ziggler was attacking Woods with a steel chair.

Kingston vs. Owens in a non-title match is set for tonight’s SmackDown. The episode is taking place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
