Ring announcer Jade Chung departing TNA Wrestling

Jade Chung is leaving TNA Wrestling.

PWInsider reported on Monday that the ring announcer is expected to leave when her contract expires at the end of the year. Last Friday’s shows in Atlanta were her final ones with the company.

Chung’s husband, Josh Alexander, later wrote on X, “I’m a very lucky man to have someone who shares & understands this passion for pro wrestling. My Jade Chung busted her ass these past couple years taking on a new role as the TNA ring announcer. She embodied everything I think of when we talk about why the locker room is such a strong unit. Always looking out for others & going the extra mile whenever it’s needed. I’m proud of her.”

Chung joined the TNA broadcast team two years ago, hosting live event pre-shows and ring announcing for “Before the IMPACT.” Last year, TNA announced that Chung would replace David Penzer as the ring announcer for the main TNA shows.

Alexander is also expected to leave TNA Wrestling when his contract expires in February 2025. He announced last month that he is no longer taking independent dates.

Jade Chung named new TNA Wrestling ring announcer

For its new era, TNA Wrestling will have a new ring announcer.

It was announced today that Jade Chung has been named the new ring announcer for TNA Wrestling. She’s replacing David Penzer in the role after Penzer finished up with the promotion at Final Resolution earlier this month.

At Final Resolution, TNA Wrestling president Scott D’Amore thanked Penzer and presented him with an award in the ring. Penzer said that he is not retiring.

Penzer wrote on social media that he was blown away by the “incredible sendoff” he was given by the promotion. Penzer called it the classiest thing he’s ever seen in the wrestling business.

“[Thank you] Scott D’Amore, I’ll be rooting from the sidelines,” Penzer wrote.

Chung joined the Impact Wrestling broadcast team this May with a role that included doing ring announcing for Before the Impact and hosting pre-shows for Impact events.

Chung is a former wrestler and manager who was part of the ROH roster in the 2000s. Before joining Impact’s broadcast team, she had been featured in the promotion alongside her husband Josh Alexander.

Chung noted that she’s “crazy excited” for her new role and is ready to rock the mic and make her peers proud.

“Very proud of this lady,” Alexander wrote. “20+ yrs in wrestling. Whether it be wrestling, managing, photography or ring announcing she takes everything insanely serious. Now as the official ring announcer for the new era of #TNAWrestling.”

TNA Wrestling’s new era officially starts at Hard to Kill on Saturday, January 13. The promotion’s name change from Impact Wrestling to TNA goes into effect that night.

Jade Chung joins Impact Wrestling broadcast team

Impact Wrestling has revealed a new addition to its broadcast team.

It was announced today that Jennifer “Jade” Chung is now part of the Impact Wrestling broadcast team. Chung is a former wrestler and manager whose career included being part of the ROH roster in the 2000s.

Chung will be the ring announcer for Before The Impact and will host the pre-shows for Impact Wrestling events.

“IMPACT welcomes Jennifer “Jade” Chung to the broadcast team! Jenn will be ring announcing for our ‘Before the IMPACT’ matches as well as hosting our live-event pre-shows! You can also look for Jenn on IG Live,” Impact Wrestling wrote.

Chung tweeted about her new role: “I am SO STOKED to join the  @IMPACTWRESTLING broadcast team and work alongside all my new amazing and super talented peers. IMPACT Faithfuls, you are the best fans to be around and I cannot wait to chat and have some more fun at our live events!! Thank you for the love”

Chung is married to Impact wrestler Josh Alexander and has been featured in some of Alexander’s Impact storylines. Alexander had to vacate the Impact World Championship this March due to suffering a triceps tear.

Impact World Champion Moose attacks Jade Chung in angle at indie event

Impact World Champion Moose attacked Jade Chung at an indie show on Saturday in an angle furthering the storyline with Chung’s husband, Josh Alexander.

Following his match at Saturday’s Destiny World Wrestling event in Ontario, Alexander was celebrating in the ring with Chung and their children. As Chung cut a promo, Moose ran in and speared Chung. Alexander then carried Chung out of the arena.

Multiple camera angles were used in shooting the angle, including one following Moose from backstage to the ring prior to the attack.

Impact posted video of the attack on their Twitter account on Sunday, stating that the actions would be addressed during Thursday’s Impact Wrestling episode.

Moose is set to defend the Impact World title against Alexander at Rebellion on Saturday, April 23.

Moose, real name Quinn Ojinnaka, was arrested on a battery charge in May 2009 after allegedly throwing his then-wife down a flight of stairs during an argument. Ojinnaka was an NFL player at the time and was suspended for the first game of the 2010 season as a result of the arrest.

The domestic violence allegation from 2009 led to WWE deciding not to sign Ojinnaka, according to our reporting.
