Chris Jericho has shocked the world yet again by appearing via video at this morning’s NJPW Wrestling Dontaku event in Fukuoka.
Jericho appeared on the screen following Kazuchika Okada’s successful title defense against SANADA. Jericho called himself the painmaker and said that at Dominion, he would take the IWGP Heavyweight title from Okada. He repeatedly said that he would win as the video ended.
Despite signing with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, Chris Jericho’s contract allows him to continue to work dates for NJPW. He last appeared for the promotion on January 4, dropping the IWGP Intercontinental championship to Tetsuya Naito at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
Jericho signed with AEW a few days later on January 8. He is scheduled to face Kenny Omega (who is also allowed to work NJPW dates in the future) at AEW Double or Nothing on May 25th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
NJPW Dominion will take place on June 9 at Osaka-jo Hall.
