Gallus win Tag Team titles at WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The Gallus boys are the NXT Tag Team Champions.

Mark Coffey and Wolfgang defeated champions The New Day, Pretty Deadly, and Chase U to win the titles for the first time at Saturday’s NXT Vengeance Day event. The finish of the match had Xavier Woods go for a rope walk springboard DDT, but instead was grabbed as Gallus connected with a high low, with Coffey pinning Woods to win the NXT Tag Team titles for the first time.

The New Day ends their run with the titles after 56 days. They had defeated Pretty Deadly for the titles at NXT Deadline back on December 10.

In the weeks after Deadline, Pretty Deadly had attempted to get a rematch for the titles. The New Day eventually agreed to a title match after both Pretty Deadly and the returning Gallus demanded a tag team title match. Chase U were added to the four-way match after they defeated Edris Enofe & Malik Blade and The Dyad in a three-way match on this week’s NXT.

Triple threat NXT Tag Team title match set for Vengeance Day

A triple threat tag team match has been added to NXT Vengeance Day on February 4.

The New Day will defend the titles against Gallus and Pretty Deadly in a three-way match. The match was set up on Tuesday’s NXT when all three teams engaged in a brawl that led to the three teams being separated by officials.

Tuesday’s show had The New Day come out to say they were going to face Gallus at Vengeance Day, as they had won the gauntlet match at last week’s New Year’s Evil event. Pretty Deadly came out and said they were tired of going around hoops to get to The New Day. After Gallus came out, Pretty Deadly attacked both teams, leading to the brawl.

Here is the updated lineup for Vengeance Day:

WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Saturday, February 4, 8 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —

  • NXT Championship steel cage match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller
  • NXT Women’s Championship triple threat match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne
  • NXT North American title match: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dijak
  • NXT Tag Team titles: The New Day (c) vs. Gallus vs. Pretty Deadly

Jinder Mahal, Tiffany Stratton, Gallus return on WWE NXT

A former WWE Champion returned to NXT at Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil, one of multiple stars returning from hiatus.

Jinder Mahal returned to NXT on Tuesday’s episode, attacking The Creed Brothers and aligning with Sanga. Mahal, who held the WWE title for nearly six months in 2017, stated that Sanga and Veer Mahaan  fight with respect, but that he does not in justifying his sneak attack on The Creeds.

Later in Tuesday’s show, Mahal faced Julius Creed in a singles match in a winning effort.

Mahal last appeared on WWE television in November, losing a SmackDown World Cup match to Braun Strowman in under two minutes.

Tiffany Stratton also made her NXT return on Tuesday’s episode. Weeks of vignettes hyping a countdown to the new year culminated with Stratton’s comeback. Stratton cut a promo in her first NXT appearance since losing a lights out match to Wendy Choo in August.

Elsewhere on Tuesday’s show, Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) returned from a storyline suspension issued in September following a Pub Rules match against Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.

Gallus attacked Briggs and Jensen backstage, then defeated Pretty Deadly in a tag team gauntlet bout at New Year’s Evil and appear to be positioned as the next challengers for The New Day’s NXT Tag Team titles.

A vignette also aired for Stevie Turner during this week’s New Year’s Evil episode, hyping the impending NXT debut of the former NXT UK talent.

WWE NXT video highlights: Pub Rules match, Halloween Havoc build

A stipulation match headlined last night’s episode of NXT.

Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen threw down with Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang in an anything goes “Pub Rules” match on NXT last night. The weapons-filled match ended with Briggs & Jensen getting the win after hitting a high/low on Mark Coffey as he had a trash can over his head.

Following the main event, Gallus were taken away in handcuffs after punching out officials who were keeping them away from Briggs & Jensen. WWE then announced a storyline update claiming that Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang have been suspended indefinitely.

Last night’s NXT also saw the main event for Halloween Havoc become official. Bron Breakker will defend his NXT Championship against JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov in a triple threat match at the Saturday, October 22 special.

Plus, Wes Lee became the latest wrestler to qualify for the NXT North American Championship ladder match at Halloween Havoc. Carmelo Hayes, Oro Mensah, and Lee are the first three wrestlers to be confirmed for the ladder match.

WWE NXT announces storyline suspension for Gallus

WWE NXT has announced a storyline suspension for Gallus.

Following their main event Pub Rules match against Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen on Tuesday’s NXT show, Gallus’ Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang attacked security guards and referees as they were being separated from Briggs and Jensen.

WWE later announced on social media that for those actions, the Coffey brothers and Wolfgang have been suspended indefinitely, effective immediately.

WWE’s statement reads:

“Due to Gallus’ actions involving the assault of WWE officials and security after their Pub Rules Tag Team Match, Wolfgang, Mark & Joe Coffey have been suspended indefinitely, effective immediately.”

Briggs and Jensen defeated Mark Coffey and Wolfgang in the Pub Rules match, blowing off a feud between the two teams.

Joe Coffey had been banned from ringside for the Pub Rules match after assaulting a security guard earlier in the show, but ran in during the main event bout anyway.

WWE NXT live results: Briggs & Jensen vs. Gallus Pub Rules match

Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen are set to throw down with Gallus on NXT tonight.

In the main event of tonight’s show, Briggs & Jensen will face Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang in a Pub Rules match. There was a confrontation between the two teams last week when Gallus wouldn’t let Briggs & Jensen into their cribbage game. The teams were about to brawl until officials stepped in.

The next competitor for the NXT North American Championship ladder match at Halloween Havoc will be confirmed tonight. Either Wes Lee or Tony D’Angelo will join Carmelo Hayes and Oro Mensah in the five-way ladder match to crown a new North American Champion. The title was relinquished by Solo Sikoa last week.

The Creed Brothers will look to get revenge on Damon Kemp, as Brutus Creed takes on Kemp tonight. The episode will also feature NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. Fallon Henley in a non-title match, Nikkita Lyons vs. Kayden Carter, and Cameron Grimes vs. Joe Gacy.

Our coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

*************

The show opens with Ilja Dragunov entering the soundstage as he works the crowd like the conductor of an orchestra.

Notably, the show is on tape from Performance Center soundstage in Orlando. So the impending hurricane is not a concern for this show. Thankfully, this show was taped in advance. Everybody in Florida be safe, as Hurricane Ian looks to be a massive storm.

Dragunov enters the ring to deliver an opening monologue. He waxes poetically, and then Dragunov name drops Bron Breakker.

Despite name dropping Breakker, he was the one to interrupt the monologue. Out comes JD McDonagh. They have history in NXT UK.

McDonagh called Dragunov a “dirty, sneaky, little rat.” Dragunov responded by saying he once defeated and forced McDonagh out from NXT UK. McDonagh in return says Dragunov was so beaten up in their match, that Dragunov had to relinquish the NXT UK title. McDonagh sarcastically asks Dragunov how his broken ankle healed up properly.

McDonagh enters the ring and gets face-to-face with Dragunov. McDonagh tells Dragunov this is McDonagh’s time now. McDonagh instructs Dragunov to stay on the “sidelines” where he has been.

McDonagh threatens to end Dragunov’s career of he was to stop him again. Dragunov reacts to getting into McDonagh face, as Dragunov’s own face is flush with a seething rage. They are suddenly interrupted by NXT Champion Bron Breakker.

Breakker strolls out and welcomes Dragunov to NXT. Breakker calls him a “warrior” before also cautioning Dragunov that the NXT title “isn’t going anywhere.”

McDonagh pipes up, saying he is the number one contender. He says he has a good idea. The crowd chants “triple threat” at McDonagh, but he heels on them. The studio audience winds up getting the last laugh. Stay tuned.

McDonagh says he earned his shot, but he still has an idea. He suggests Breakker and Dragunov beat each other up, and McDonagh will face the winner.

Breakker scoffs at the notion like he is a character on a sitcom. Breakker goes to make a math joke, poking fun at his uncle Scott’s infamous promo. Breakker tells McDonagh he has a 33 and one third percent chance of winning. Studio audience pops.

This all leads to Breakker announcing that he will face both Dragunov and McDonagh in a triple threat title match at Halloween Havoc.

Meanwhile, a brawl erupts backstage between Gallus and Briggs & Jensen.

NXT Mandy Rose is headed to the ring, and she cuts a promo ahead of match with Fallon Henley. Rose’s promo is all about Alba Fyre.

Fallon Henley is already in the ring as the show returns from a commercial break.

NXT Champion Mandy Rose (with Gigi Dolan & Jacy Jayne) defeats Fallon Henley in a non-title match

Rose pins Henley clean after the “Kiss By the Rose” finisher.

Rose has her Toxic Attraction teammates in her corner, but Henley is alone. After the pull-apart brawl earlier with Briggs & Jensen, they are unable to be in Henley’s corner.

Shine, heat, and comeback for Henley. Rose cuts off her comeback with a Kiss By the Rose (jumping knee strike). Rose then covers Henley for a pinfall.

Rose cuts a promo on Alba Fyre after the match. Rose threatens Fyre with analogies about fire. Fyre interrupts Rose’s promo, as Fyre appears on the video screen.

Fyre says he does not do verbal warnings, she is more visual. Fyre lights an image on fire, spelling out a hashtag that says “AND NEW” on the ground outside the building.

Apollo Crews has words for Grayson Waller. Crews is still seeking revenge after Waller tried to supposedly blind him, although it really just an eye poke. Crews has a horrifying vision of Waller’s future.

Wes Lee enters the soundstage joined by Connor’s Cure Thriver Quinn “The King Crusher” Molitor. Lee is in action up next.

Xyon Quinn confronts Ilja Dragunov, which looks to set up a match between the two.

Wes Lee defeats Tony D’Angelo (with Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo)

Lee wins via referee stoppage when D’Angelo cannot continue due to injury.

Carmelo Hays and Trick Williams are shown backstage watching the match.

The match goes through a commercial break. Just before the show goes to commercial, the referee ejects Stacks after he interferes in the match. That actually helps D’Angelo, as the distraction by Stacks allows D’Angelo to gain the underhanded advantage.

As if to begin a comeback, Wes Lee is about to hulk up when something seemingly goes wrong. D’Angelo is sent into a middle turnbuckle after taking a drop toehold. D’Angelo tries to stand, but he cannot put weight on his leg. the referee stops the match, as D’Angelo is apparently hurt.

Raquel Rodriquez is the focus of a PSA celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

A vignette highlights NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly, with a day in the life of the champs. Played up for laughs, I guess they are supposed to be funny heels. Kind of like the Honky Tonk Man as IC Champ, except their gimmicks are nothing like the Honky Tonk Man.

Sol Ruca defeats Amari Miller

Ruca pins Miller in Ruca’s in-ring debut on NXT television. Ruca does a Muta clothesline in a corner, and she turns a flip into a double legdrop before scoring the pinfall.

Ruca has plenty of potential and great athleticism, but this match is not Tom Magee against Bret Hart.

On commentary Ruca is described as “standout” college athlete from the University of Oregon, but no mention of her shoot name. She also has a gymnastics background, so they at least gave a clue as to her real name.

Gallus is backstage in a scrum with security. One security dude takes a headbutt from Joe Coffey, and Gallus is forced back into their locker room. This skit leads to Joe Coffey being banned from ringside during the main event.

Joe Gacy (with The Dyad) defeats Cameron Grimes

Gacy pins Grimes after interference by The Dyad.

The match gets under way, and it quickly turns into a brawl. Gacy is getting the better of Grimes, until Grimes comes back with a rally.

Grimes goes for a dive off the apron, but The Dyad are there attempting to block him. Grimes dives over them anyway with a somersault senton on Gacy. However, Grimes momentarily turns his attention to The Dyad.

With Grimes’ attention briefly diverted by The Dyad, Gacy is able to capitalize. Gacy works over Grimes, but Grimes soon fights back. The Dyad thwarts Grimes’ comeback as they interfere again. Grimes takes a lariat that turns him upside down, and Gacy covers him for a three count.

Grayson Waller is freaking out about Apollo Crew’s vision. He vows to hire extra security to protect himself.

An advertisement plugs NXT trading cards … in the year Two Thousand Twenty Two. What is old is new again.

Nikkita Lyons (with Zoey Stark) defeats Kayden Carter (with Katana Chance)

Lyons pins Carter clean in the middle. So, a potential challenger has pins one-half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. A tag title match seems imminent.

Lyons counters Carter to deliver a roundhouse kick. Lyons follows up with her splits/legdrop combo, and Lyons covers Carter for a clean pinfall.

This match had “a lot of hype online.” Sure, Vic Joseph. Whatever you say.

A pre-taped skit featured Andre Chase giving a speech at a pep rally on the campus of Chase U. Andre Chase upset Carmelo Hayes in an impromptu match last week on NXT. C

Chase announces he faces Von Wagner next week in a qualifying match, where the winner joins the five-way ladder match at Halloween Havoc to crown a new NXT North American Champion.

By the way, Chase cut a promo on a reporter named “Dave,” saying he don not ask a five star question.

A vignette features Nathan Frazier, and it focuses on his success as a soccer player. Frazier relates that to his best-of-three series against Axiom. The third match in their series in also now a qualifying match, where the winner advances to the ladder match at Halloween Havoc.

Ilja Dragunov defeats Xyon Quinn

Dragunov pins Quinn to win the match.

Vic Joseph on commentary notes this is Dragunov’s first match back since returning from a broken ankle.

While Quinn got plenty of offense, but this was clearly about getting Dragunov over with the audience.

Dragunov fights back on Quinn, and Dragunov lands some wicked strikes. For the finish, Dragunov signals and measures for a flying back elbow. Dragunov then scores a pinfall.

Lash Legend and Wendy Choo cut promos on each other in a pre-taped, post-produced featurette.

Brutus Creed defeats Damon Kemp via disqualification

Kemp is disqualified for using a chair.

Creed meets Kemp on the entrance ramp, and the fights starts with a brawl before the bell.

Creeds throws Kemp around with suplexes. Kemp soon counters, and Kemp applies a neck vice. They work the hold for awhile like this was a house show.

Kemp mocks Creed, which in turn fires up Creed. Kemp is sent out of the ring with a Monty Brown Pounce by Brutus. Being a heel, Kemp grabs a metal folding chair. Kemp hits Creed with the chair, leading to a DQ.

Kemp pummels Creed with chair shots, and an Kemp screams at Creed after the match.

Sanga is usually the one giving out advice, but this week he gets some advice instead in a backstage skit. Sanga is given a pep talk by “Super Diva” Quincy Elliott. Xyon Quinn walks past, and Elliott tells Quinn he does not see the “X” factor in him. Elliott then giggles at Quinn as Elliott turns to leave.

Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark cut a promo vowing to win the women’s tag titles. They are confronted by Toxic Attraction, who warn Lyons & Starks that the odds are three-on-two. A shoot line of fire is ignited by Alba Fyre, as she steps in to join the side of Lyons & Starks. This seems to set up a future trios match.

Plugged for next week on NXT is The Grayson Waller Effect, with two rivals having a face off. Waller’s guests are foes Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade. Also announced for next Tuesday is Andre Chase against Von Wagner in a North American qualifying match. In addition, NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly will deliver a “State of the Commonwealth Address” on next week’s episode of NXT.

Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen defeats Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) in a Pub Rules match

Jensen pins Coffey after a wild, weapons-filled brawl. Gallus is handcuffed by police officers after a post-match angle, where Joe Coffey punches a referee.

Joe Coffey is banned from ringside after headbutting security earlier in the show, but he runs in during the match nonetheless.

Pub Rules basically means a hardcore match. Trash cans are scattered around ringside. Tables and chairs are also prevalent.

The two teams fought in street clothes like they are in a bunkhouse match, which fits Briggs & Jensen’s gimmick.

This is probably not the first pub brawl in pro wrestling history to start over a cribbage game. Old school fans will get that reference.

Briggs brings a rope to the ring like he is El Texano Jr. Likely only lucha libre fans will get that reference.

The brawling goes through a split-screen commercial break as the fight continues.

The two teams whip each other with leather belts. Briggs & Jensen do the Ray Traylor spot where they baseball slide out of the ring and punch their foes. Makes me nostalgic for the Big Bossman.

A deathmatch breaks out as glass soon becomes involved in the melee. Briggs & Jensen shatter beer mugs on Mark Coffey & Wolfgang.

Despite being banned from ringside, Joe Coffey runs in. He then takes a Nestea Plunge through a table at ringside. In the ring, Wolfgang is hiplocked through a table.

In the meantime, Mark Coffey is stuffed upside down into a trash can. He gets to his feet with the trash can still over his head, and Coffey stumbles around like Terry Funk trapped in the can. Briggs & Jensen deliver a high-low combo on Coffey, and Jensen covers Coffey for a pinfall.

Fallon Henley joins Briggs & Jensen in the ring to celebrate their win.

Referees pour out to keep Gallus from getting back into the ring. Joe Coffey punches a ref, and out comes a bunch of police officers. Gallus is handcuffed by police and led away as the show closes.

Gallus is being “suspended indefinitely” as part of the angle.

WWE NXT video highlights: Bron Breakker & Tyler Bate team up

The fallout from Worlds Collide took place on last night’s NXT.

After facing off in the main event of Worlds Collide, NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Tyler Bate were partners last night. Breakker saving Bate from an attack by Gallus led to Breakker & Bate teaming up against Joe & Mark Coffey in the main event. Breakker took out Joe Coffey with a spear at the end of the match, then Bate pinned Mark Coffey after hitting the Tyler Driver ’97.

As Breakker and Bate celebrated, JD McDonagh ambushed them and laid out Bate. McDonagh retreated through the crowd before Breakker could retaliate.

McDonagh had defeated Wes Lee earlier in the night. The show also saw Meiko Satomura, Ricochet, and Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H. pick up wins to rebound from their losses at Worlds Collide.

Plus, Apollo Crews vs. Grayson Waller and Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley are both also set for tonight.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

The show opens with the entrance of Grayson Waller. He grabs the house microphone, but before Waller can speak, he is interrupted by the entrance of Apollo Crews.

Waller and Crews have exchanged some verbal jabs in recent week. Their war of words intensified last week during the debut of Waller’s talk show segment — The Waller Effect.

Grayson Waller defeats Apollo Crews

Waller pins Crews, after Crews suffers both an inadvertent eye poke during the match and a deliberate eye poke at the finish.

Waller tries some flashy moves, and he seems very proud of himself based on his taunting. Some old school rasslin’ from Crews as he rams Waller’s head into the turnbuckles several times, before giving Waller a high backdrop. Crews then speeds things for a pretty dropkick. Chants of “Apollo” from the crowd.

Creed mocks Waller’s earlier taunts, and then a delayed vertical suplex by Crews. On another exchange, Creeds sells like suffers an inadvertent eye poke. Cut to a split-screen commercial break while Creeds sells his eye.

Mostly all Waller during the break, and Waller is in control when the show returns. Crews fights back, and he goes for a slingshot senton. Waller counters the senton, and Waller catches Crews in a sleeper.

Crews is down as Waller begins to taunt him again. Waller pays for it again. Crews boots Waller with a kick, and Crews begins a comeback. Waller feeds into a series of lariats. Crews fires up into a Stinger Splash, and he leaps off the middle rope with a blockbuster for a near fall.

Waller escapes a military press, and he snaps Crews on the top rope. Waller then jumps into the ring to set up his finisher. Roll through into a pop-up cutter, and Cres tries to counter. Waller pokes Crews in the eye, and Waller comes down with the cutter. Waller then covers Crews for a pinfall.

A tremendous video package hypes NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura. She narrates her life’s journey in pro wrestling. Included is clips of her on WCW Monday Nitro in the late ’90s. Addressing the triple threat match, Satomura warns her opponents will not defeat “the final boss.”

More implosion in Diamond Mine during a skit at the dojo. Strong tries to argue his case, but the Creeds are not hearing it. After Strong storms off, Damon Kemp says he doesn’t trust Roddy anymore either.

Ivy Nile enters the scene, and she chides the Creeds for pickering. She tells them to get it together. Tatum Paxley is with Nile, and Paxley is wearing a face guard. She says Nile injured her, but they still get along. The two then head to the ring for their match that is up next. But first, a cameo from the main roster…

Finn Balor is face-to-face with NXT Champion Bron Breakker in the locker room. Balor has advice for Breakker. Balor says he has beaten guys twice his size. Balor cautions Breakker to not underestimate NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance & Kayden Carter defeats Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley in a non-title match

Chance pins Paxley, after a distraction by Toxic Attraction.

During the match, NXT Champion Mandy Rose is seen watching the match from their couch on a perch inside the soundstage. Her Toxic Attraction pals, Gigi Dolan & Jacy Jayne, cause a distraction that gets the attention of Nile.

Paxley is left on her own against the champs, and they execute their tandem finisher on Paxley. Chance then hooks a leg and covers Paxley for a three count.

The champs cut a post-match promo. Chance & Carter say they set out to be fighting champions, but they have not one left to fight in NXT. Cue the interruption.

Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. interrupt the champs, and they challenge the champs to a title match on Sunday at Worlds Collide. Chance & Carter accept the challenge, and they shake hands with the challengers to seal the deal. The match is later made official for Worlds Collide.

Kiana James from her office desk cuts a promo on Zoey Stark ahead of their match tonight.

Joe Gacy in a pre-tape promo has words for Cameron Grimes, saying the time has come to for Grimes to make his decision on Gacy’s offer to join Schism. My advice: Don’t.

Cameron Grimes has an answers for The Schism

After a commercial break, Gacy is in the ring flanked by The Dyad. Either there are edits that censor chants from the studio audience, or my feed is glitching. Then comes the “boring” chants.

Gacy has happy face pins, and he gives them to The Dyad, as this promo turns into some sort of weird awards ceremony. The Dyad speaks. The live studio audience cares about as much as when Gacy spoke. That is, not much.

Thankfully, Cameron Grimes interrupts The Schism. Here to save the segment, Grimes gets into the ring to confront them. Grimes is not here for their celebration, but he needs to talk with Gacy.

Grimes has an answer for Gacy on joining Schism.

“I don’t need you,” Grimes tells Gacy. Grimes does not need anyone for him to “go to the moon.”

Gacy responds that Grimes is lonely. Gacy tells Grimes to tell him that he is lonely, and Gacy will leave him alone.

Grimes reiterates he does not need anyone. Grimes turns to leave, when Gacy basically says he has no one, not even his father. That angers Grimes, and he explodes on them. Gacy tells his charges to back off, and Grimes backs away.

Roxanne Perez narrates a video package that recaps Cora Jade turning on her. Perez warns Jade to watch her back.

NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate is facetiming with Butch (Pete Dunne). Butch gives Bate some encouraging word ahead of the unification title match on Sunday.

Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) & Lash Legend defeats Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen & Fallon Henley in a six-person tag team match

Prince pins Jensen, after outside interference from Gallus.

The babyfaces shine in the first half of the match. They clean house and clear the ring. Jensen then toss Henley over the ropes into a dive on the outside. The show cuts to a commercial break with the babyfaces in control.

The heel trio turns the tide after the break, and they isolate Jensen. Pretty Deadly works him over. Despite being trapped in a sleeper, Jensen is able to fall towards his corner for a tag.

Hot tag, and Briggs is a house of fire. Running bulldog and a famouser from Briggs. With him wearing jeans and cowboy boots, that combo of moves gave me flashbacks of The Smoking Gunns.

Double down after Prince and Briggs collide as both attempt a crossbody. Prince is booted out of the ring, and Briggs crawls over to tag out. Just before Briggs gets to his corner, out comes Gallus.

The arrival of Gallus distracts Jensen, and he jumps off the apron to confront them at ringside. Jensen dives onto them, and there is a pull-apart brawl. Meanwhile, Joe Coffey nails Jensen with a boot.

Dazed after being hit with the boot, Jensen is rolled up by Prince for a three count.

Gallus rushes into the ring for post-match brawl. Huge pull-apart as bedlam ensues.

Shayna Baszler confronts NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. Baszler warns Rose she better win on Saturday. Do it for the brand, or all of Rose’s talk over the last year is “garbage” in hindsight.

JD McDonagh cuts a promo that portrays himself as creepy. The promo seems to indicate McDonagh’s next program is with Wes Lee.

Andre Chase (with Bodhi Wayward & Thea Hail) defeats Charlie Dempsey

Chase pins Dempsey, despite Dempsey looking strong with his Snake Pit style.

Lots of grappling, playing to the strengths of Dempsey. He puts Chase through a clinic, stretching him. Chase fights back with punches. Atomic drop leads into a leg sweep by Chase for a Bret Hart comeback.

Chase does a Garvin Stomp where chants from the studio audience spell out Chase U. However, Dempsey counters to apply a series of submission hold. The last being a crossface, and Chase struggles to make the ropes. Hayward at ringside tries to rally Chase. Dempsey kicks at Hayward, and Dempsey breaks the hold so he can leave the ring to attack Hayward.

Dempsey gives Hayward a gutwrench suplex on the floor. Dempsey gets back into the ring, only for him to get cradled by Chase. Chase grapevines a leg, and uses the grapevine to roll Dempsey into a pinning combination. A three count later, and Chase scores the pinfall.

Alba Fyre, a former NXT UK Women’s Champion, has encouraging words for current champ, Meiko Satomura.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther gives current NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate a pep talk. Gunther tells Bate he must win the unification match, saying to Bate that “European wrestling depends on it.”

Zoey Stark defeats Kiana James

Stark pins James to win clean. Nikkita Lyons runs in after the match to make a save when James attempts a post-match attack.

James attempts to get heat on Stark during the match. The live studio audience seems somewhat indifferent, although there is some half-hearted clapping and chants.

Comeback by Stark, and she rocks James with strike combos. James grabs a top rope to escape Stark’s finisher, and James briefly cuts her off. Moments later, Stark delivers her GTS finisher. Stark then scores a pinfall.

After the match, James attempts to hit Stark with a tote bag. Nikkita Lyons runs in for a save. Lyons jumps James and sends her fleeing away.

Blair Davenport is being interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell, when Rhea Ripley interrupts for a cameo appearance. Ripley tells Davenport she better win on Sunday, much like the other main roster talent did earlier in the show.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom are sitting next to each other reading comic books. There is an inside joke where Frazer chides the masked Axiom for not having the chance to wrestle on the NXT UK brand. The joke is Axiom wrestled for the brand as A-Kid. The skit sets up a best-of-three rounds match between the two.

Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defeats Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed & Damon Kemp)

Joe Coffey pins Kemp, following a distraction by Roderick Strong.

Things get going in the match. Builds to Diamond Mine with a triple clubbering spot. Gallus powders before a split-screen commercial break.

Gallus is eventually able to isolite Julius Creed, and they work him over. Hot tag brings in Kemp, and he cleans house.

Roderick Strong comes down to ringside holding a cellphone. He wants to show Kemp a video, which somehow proves Strong’s larger point or something like that. This is all kind of silly. More so when Kemp stomps on Strong’s phone, and Strongs oversells it.

Security tries to hold back Strong as he yells at Kemp to get back in the ring, which is more silliness.

Blind tag by Gallus, and Kemp is leveled by a lariat from Joe Coffey. Kemp is then pinned by Coffey, and Gallus is victorious.

Pretty Deadly run in after the match, and they attack Diamond Mine. Security geeks pour in, and a pull-apart melee ensues. The locker room empties as the brawl grows larger. Then the director cuts to the back like this is an old episode of Impact.

The six-man match was billed as the main event, but there is still plenty of more time left on the show. Something else is closing tonight’s episode.

Tommaso Ciampa is here for another main roster cameo. He has words for NXT Champion Bron Breakker. Cimapa with a pep talk for Breakker, telling him to win on Saturday.

Commentators Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett are about to run down the card for Worlds Collide, when there is an interruption. NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are headed to the ring. Hayes is not booked for a match on Worlds Collide, so he and Williams are heading to ring to address that slight. Quincy Elliott cuts a promo teasing the NXT debut of “The Super Diva.”

Hayes and Williams storm the ring. Williams cuts a promo hyping up Hayes. The North American champ is upset why the “A champion” is not on the Worlds Collide card.

Hayes declares he WILL NOT be on the card, as if it is a proclamation of some sort. I thought he was not booked. So, because he is not booked he vows to not show up. I guess that is what Dennis Stamp would have done.

Ricochet interrupts the segment, and Ricochet gets a superstar welcome. He tells Hayes and Williams to shut up for the sake of everyone. Ricochet then goes on to say he is here on “official business.”

Ricochet challenges Hayes to a title match on Saturday. The title bout is agreed upon. Williams and Hayes try to jump Ricochet, but he strikes both down. Ricochet grabs the title belt, and he stoops over Hayes. Ricochet then waves goodbye to Hayes as the show comes to a close.

Gallus appear at WWE NXT Heatwave, attack Diamond Mine

The Gallus group from NXT UK appeared on Tuesday’s WWE NXT Heatwave show, attacking members of Diamond Mine.

During an in-ring promo segment teasing dissension between Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers of Diamond Mine, Gallus’s Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang appeared, attacking Diamond Mine and leaving them laying.

Later on Heatwave, Gallus was involved in a pull-apart backstage with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, the current NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Briggs and Jensen captured the vacant titles on the June 23 episode of NXT UK.

Mark Coffey and Wolfgang are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, holding the titles from October 2019 until February 2021 when they lost the titles to Pretty Deadly.

Joe Coffey headlined NXT TakeOver: Blackpool in January 2019, unsuccessfully challenging Pete Dunne in a WWE United Kingdom Championship title match. Joe Coffey was suspended by WWE in June 2020 after allegations against him surfaced as part of the #speakingout movement. He was reinstated in October 2020.

A-Kid defeated Sam Gradwell (10:45)

They traded holds early with neither man getting a clear advantage. Gradwell then rubbed his knee brace over A-Kid’s face to gain the advantage, He eventually locked in a Boston Crab but A-Kid escaped and turned it into a cover. A-Kid hit a superkick that sent Gradwell to the outside, then followed with a dive and, once they were back in the ring, a crossbody off the top for a near fall.

A-Kid eventually went for the omoplata, but Gradwell powered out and actually hit a huge suplex as a counter move, then threw A-Kid to ringside. He missed a clothesline off the apron though, allowing A-Kid to lock in a sleeper on the outside, which earned him another suplex in return. Gradwell hit a lariat, which earned him another very close near fall.

A-Kid locked in an arm bar, Gradwell actually picked him up and slammed him to the mat, but A-Kid held on and Gradwell finally tapped.

They showed some clips from the Rampage Brown vs. Flash Morgan Webster match and reported that Webster had suffered a shoulder injury and would be out of action for a while

Ilja Dragunov was interviewed backstage and was told the match with Rampage Brown was now official. He said he did not run from pain but embraced it and also that myths and legends weren’t written about giants but the heroes who made them fall. The match airs in two weeks

**********

Aleah James defeated Nina Samuels (04:51)

James trapped Samuels in a wrist lock early on and wouldn’t let go. She escaped a counter attempt, then hit a hurricanrana from the apron to the inside of the ring. Samuels took back over with some kicks and a backbreaker. James came back with a series of dropkicks and a crossbody for a near-fall. Samuels made a brief comeback, but James turned a tilt-a-whirl-slam attempt into  a small package for the pin and the win.

**********

Sam Gradwell sat backstage when Sha Samuels and Noam Dar loudly celebrated Dar’s win of the NXT Heritage Cup a few weeks ago. They briefly got into it, but Gradwell seemed more confused than aggravated.

Aleah James was happy about her win backstage and talked about wanting to keep her momentum going. She went into a room and was attacked by Isla Dawn, who stole her hairband. Still scarier than Alexa Bliss and her doll.

**********

Kenny Williams defeated Saxon Huxley (05:54)

Williams attacked Huxley early, but the huge Brit ran wild on him just seconds later. He threw him around and ragdolled him, slamming him into the mat repeatedly, then nonchalantly threw him to ringside.

Williams came back by jumping up and down on Huxley’s back and spearing his leg. Williams locked in a standing surfboard and further attacked Huxley’s leg. Huxley came back with a slam into the corner, a running big boot and more corner attacks, then threw Williams halfway across the ring.

Huxley hit a running crossbody into the ropes that threw Williams to the outside. As Huxley went to follow up, Williams rammed him into the ring post, then followed up with Bad Luck in the ring to pick up the pinfall victory.

**********

Xia Brookside came to the UK Performance Center and talked about how she would see Sid Scala real soon. A woman walked up to her and said she was already 15 minutes late to training. Brookside said she didn’t have to train with the other wrestlers and had some one on one training sessions, which the woman might not know about. She handed her a note and skipped off.

Mark Andrews talked about his match with Nathan Frazer from last week and put him over. Jordan Devlin walked up and said Andrews made rookie mistakes, talking about another performer during his 30 seconds on camera. He told him to drop the nice guy act and take some notes. A graphic then plugged a match with them for next week.

**********

Teoman & Rohan Raja defeated Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (w/Joe Coffey) (09:31)

Wolfgang and Raja started and Raja immediately got beat up. Coffey was in next and kept the attacks going. Teoman got tagged in, but suffered the same fate.He eventually got the upper hand and Mark Coffey got worked over by the heels, who quickly tagged in and out. Coffey finally managed to dispose of both opponents and made the hot tag to Wolfgang, who ran wild for a bit. He hit a splash from the turnbuckles to the back of Raja for a near fall.

Teoman averted a top-rope axe handle, then smashed Wolfgang’s head into the turnbuckles before Raja and Teoman double-teamed him some more. Wolfgang evaded a handspring back elbow by Teoman, hit a double clothesline and tagged in Coffey, who hit a huge slam on Teoman for a close two count. Teoman and Wolfgang bonked into each other and both men were down, as the referee sent Coffey to his corner.

Suddenly Charlie Dempsey ran out and attacked Joe Coffey at ringside, slamming him into the stairs. Mark Coffey looked to get involved, but was rammed into the dasher boards by Raja. Back in the ring, Teoman hit the Evil Eye on Wolfgang, followed by a jumping STO by Raja for the pin.

Final Thoughts —

  • A-Kid vs. Gradwell was a good match that picked up steam with a sequence for close near falls by the end.
  • The women’s match was more a backdrop for an angle with Isla Dawn it seemed, who looks to be collecting items from women all over the roster.
  • Williams and Huxley was fun whenever Huxley was in charge. He is criminally underused as the big, Brody-like wild man who also is super agile.
  • The tag team main event was decent, with Charlie Dempsey’s interference adding a lot of intrigue for the future. Dempsey is incredibly crisp and great for his level of experience and even him running in and attacking Coffey looked tremendous.

Ilja Dragunov addresses the NXT UK locker room —

Sid Scala was in the ring and introduced Ilja Dragunov, who appeared on the video wall.

Ilja said he was happy for the very first time in a long time. He said he made the impossible possible and was absolutely unbesiegbar (invincible). He was looking forward to coming back to the UK and his most interesting question was who would be the person trying to take his championship away from him.

At that point Nathan Frazer walked out and said he wanted to take the initiative and asked “why not me?”. Rampage Brown then came out, talked about what he had done to Joe Coffey and how Ilja was a violent man. A-Kid finally appeared and said he should be getting the first title match.

Scala then made a three-way between them with the winner getting the shot.

Brown bumped into Frazer on his way out, who pulled him back in. They brawled and Brown was the last man standing.

**********

Jinny and Joseph Conners walked to their dressing room. Isla Dawn was in there, doing scary witch stuff. She had drawn a pentagram with lipstick on a mirror. Still scarier than Alexa Bliss and her doll.

**********

Moustache Mountain were backstage. Bate said it was exciting to have a new champion and he was keeping an eye on the number one contender situation and the Heritage Cup. Seven interrupted him and talked about the Tag Team title situation. Bate looked taken slightly aback, but quickly got on board.

Emilia McKenzie defeated Stevie Turner (05:19)

Turner backed her into the corner, then shoved her, but McKenzie shoved her back and aggressively worked over her arm.

Turner came back with stomps in the corner, then kicked her head as she was in the ropes. McKenzie came back with clotheslines and a spear for another two count. Turner hit a side effect for another two.

McKenzie hit a rope-assisted German suplex, followed by running knees for the pinfall victory.

**********

Wolfgang and Teoman talked about their Heritage Cup tournament match next week. Wolfgang joked about the eye and suggested they leave their family members backstage for the match. Teoman said he learned on the streets you had to take out the biggest guy in the neighborhood to earn respect.

**********

A vignette on a new talent called Charlie Dempsey aired. Dempsey is Bailey Matthews, the son of William Regal.

It was in black-and-white and he was watching old British wrestling footage. He said that an inspiration of his once said the body was like a ladder and you had to work it up and down.

He said he was training in the British style and was going to show us things we never saw before. He is coming soon.

Dempsey wrestled Tyler Bate on NXT UK back in February.

**********

They showed what happened after the previous match; Blair Davenport ran in and destroyed Stevie Turner. She addressed Sid Scala and told him to reinstate her or bad things were going to happen.

NXT UK Tag Team Championship: Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley) defeated Gallus (Joe & Mark Coffey) to retain the titles (14:23)

Howley and Mark Coffey started, with Coffey getting the better of their exchange. Both tagged out and Joe Coffey worked over Sam Stoker for a bit. Pretty Deadly eventually outsmarted Mark Coffey and wore him down. Joe Coffey had Stoker under control, when Pretty Deadly used some questionable tactics to gain the upper hand and hit a GTS/codebreaker combo.

Thy had Joe under control for a few minutes. Eventually, he made the hot tag to Mark, who ran wild for a bit. Some tags later, it was near falls galore, after which all four ended up at ringside where they took each other out.

Joe Coffey then hit a shotgun dropkick off the top on Howley for a close near fall. He followed with the Glasgow Sendoff into the corner, then hit All the Best for the Bells, but Stoker made the save from the pin. Joe crashed into the ring post and Mark almost got the win with a crucifix.

Pretty Deadly then hit Spilled Milk on Mark Coffey for the successful title defense.

Final Thoughts —

  • The Noam Dar/Kenny Williams match was fun.
  • Emilia McKenzie looked dominant against Stevie Turner and the Blair Davenport storyline adds intrigue down the line.
  • The three way to determine Ilja Dragnov’s first challenger should be tons of fun and hard-hitting. Each of the three would be great against him.
  • The tag match was really good and Pretty Deadly might be the best tag team signed with a major promotion nobody ever heard about.

Next week:

  • NXT UK Championship number one contender three-way: Nathan Frazer vs. Rampage Brown vs. A-Kid
  • NXT UK Heritage Cup number one contender tournament semifinals: Teoman vs. Wolfgang

Coffey punched Dennis out of the ring and attacked him at ringside. Back in the ring, Dennis escaped through the ropes to stop another barrage by Coffey. Dennis came back with a judo throw and kravate. Coffey eventually escaped with a slam, but missed the Glasgow Sendoff into the corner.

Dennis caught a body press by Coffey and hit a slam for a near fall. Coffey got attacked immediately by Primate and T-Bone, but the rest of Gallus made the save and sent Dennis and his thugs packing.

**********

Ilja Dragunov sat at a laptop and watched clips of his match with WALTER, getting an incredulous look on his face as the match progressed. He then watched clips of his matches with Jack Starz, Sam Gradwell and others and how he would snap whenever he got chopped in the neck. His eyes grew bigger as he watched, before the screen faded to black.

**********

Gallus were excited as they came backstage. Joe Coffey encountered Rampage Brown and told him he’d watched him and WALTER and it was tough, as he’d been there himself. He reminded Brown that he had promised him a rematch and told him to give him a call.

**********

Sam Gradwell defeated “Bomber” Dave Mastiff (04:54)

Mastiff quickly backed Gradwell into the ropes and called him a “Yogurt”. They traded hammerlocks, before Gradwell got smacked in the mouth. Mastiff hit a judo roll over Gradwell, then followed with a fireman’s carry roll. Gradwell came back with a knee strike with his knee brace, hurting Mastiff’s back.

Mastiff eventually hit a running crossbody but couldn’t hit his cannonball senton into the corner because of his injured back.

Gradwell seized the opportunity, impressively hoisted Mastiff on his shoulders and hit a Falcon Arrow for the win.

Aoife Valkyrie walked through a city at night and talked about this being her opportunity. She will face Meiko Satomura next week.

Jinny (w/Joseph Conners) defeated Dani Luna (04:03)

Dani took Jinny down with a waistlock takedown right away. Jinny slapped her, then escaped through the ropes and attacked Dani from behind when she turned away.

Jinny locked on an Iron Octopus but Luna powered out. Jinny locked it on once more from a seated position, but Luna lifted her up and threw her. Luna hit two consecutive rolling gutwrench suplexes, then followed up with another suplex.

They traded strikes and slaps and Dani followed with a running clothesline. Conners got on the apron, which distracted Luna and allowed Jinny to hit a kick to the knee, rolling Liger kick and pin Dani with a La Magistral cradle.

After the match, Jinny stomped away at Dani and locked her in a modified STF as Conners screamed into her face. Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster ran out to make the save.

**********

Sid Scala was asked about the Amir Jordan-Kenny Williams main event from last week when Jordan stormed in and demanded a rematch.

Scala said that Williams was willing to give him a rematch under no DQ rules, but only under the condition that the loser will leave NXT UK.

Jordan was taken aback, but eventually signed the contract and said that nobody would be taking this away from him.

**********

A video aired on newcomer Rohan Raja (Tony Gill, the former Gursinder Singh of the Desi Hit Squad in Impact in 2018/19), who said he was 6’1″, British born, Australian raised, Canadian trained (by Lance Storm, nonetheless). He said he would make his NXT UK debut next week against Teoman.

He said Teoman had been making people tap out but that he does not quit and Teoman would have to bring his A game.

Teoman replied to Raja’s promo, saying he would die for his family and protect them with honor, respect and fear. He reiterated that he was the “Babo” (boss) Teoman.

**********

Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) defeated Noam Dar & Sha Samuels (12:50)

Dar and Bate started the match. Bate had the early advantage with arm drags before Dar managed to tag in Samuels, who wanted Seven. Seven quickly hit a clothesline and leg drop. Bate was back in and hit a somersault senton, then worked over Samuels’ arm before Dar tagged back in.

Bate had Dar up for the airplane spin, but Samuels blind tagged back in and attacked Bate, who eventually tagged Seven. Dar and Samuels quickly tagged in and out and worked over Seven for several minutes. Seven finally hit a DDT and snap dragon suplex on Dar before finally making the hot tag.

Bate ran wild and hit an exploder on Samuels. Bate hit a Seven-assisted  power bomb on Samuels and went for a bridging pin, but the referee was distracted and Samuels eventually kicked out. Samuels hit a spinebuster on Bate off a slingshot lariat. Seven and Bate hit subsequent dives on both Dar and Samuels.

Bate then hit a double foot stomp of the top into a Burning Hammer by Seven on Samuels and pinned him.

Final thoughts —

A decent show with a good main event.

Dennis vs. Coffey lead to the inevitable six-men tag, which should be a fun, hard-hitting brawl next week.

Jinny vs. Dani Luna also progressed the storyline and we should get some sort of mixed tag team match out of it soon.

Sam Gradwell picked up his first proper win since returning, and looked good in doing so.

The main event was a small redemption story for Trent Seven, who I still suspect will turn on or challenge Tyler Bate if/when he wins the Heritage Cup from A-Kid.

I like how they had short promos building up next week’s Rohan Raja vs. Teoman match, which felt like watching Superstars or Wrestling Challenge when I was a kid.

Next week —

  • Aoife Valkyrie vs. Meiko Satomura
  • Teoman vs. Rohan Raja
  • Gallus vs. Eddie Dennis, Primate & T-Bone

WWE announces NXT UK Heritage Cup and Tag Team title matches

WWE has revealed when NXT UK’s next Heritage Cup and Tag Team title matches will be airing.

Heritage Cup Champion A-Kid will defend the trophy against Sha Samuels on NXT UK next Thursday (February 18). Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) will then defend their NXT UK Tag Team titles against Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley) on the NXT UK episode that airs in two weeks (Thursday, February 25).

Samuels challenging for the Heritage Cup was set up during Samuels’ appearance on Noam Dar’s Supernova Sessions talk show on this week’s NXT UK episode. Dar said Samuels personifies the heritage of British wrestling and said Samuels is owed something by NXT UK authority figures Johnny Saint and Sid Scala after he was initially given the name Ed Harvey when he made his NXT UK debut.

A-Kid won the Heritage Cup by defeating Trent Seven in the finals of a tournament in November. He’s defended the Heritage Cup once since then, defeating Tyler Bate in December.

WALTER retained his NXT UK Championship against A-Kid on the January 14 edition of NXT UK. Samuels also made his NXT UK debut in a loss to Joe Coffey on that episode after signing with WWE.

Next week’s NXT UK will also feature Rampage Brown vs. Joe Coffey and Ben Carter in action.

Pretty Deadly became the number one contenders to Gallus’ titles by defeating Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster, Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith, and The Hunt (Wild Boar & Primate) in a fatal four-way elimination match on NXT UK two weeks ago. Gallus have been NXT UK Tag Team Champions since October 2019.

Pretty Deadly become number one contenders to NXT UK tag titles

The next challengers for Gallus’ Tag Team titles were determined on this week’s NXT UK.

In the main event of this week’s NXT UK episode, Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley) defeated Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster, Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith, and The Hunt (Wild Boar & Primate) in a fatal four-way number one contender’s elimination match. WWE hasn’t announced when Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) will be defending their titles against Pretty Deadly.

Gallus watched the number one contender’s match from a balcony area, but only Joe Coffey was there when Stoker & Howley looked over after the match. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang then came out to the ramp and exchanged words with Pretty Deadly to close the show.

The Hunt’s manager Eddie Dennis was banned from accompanying Wild Boar & Primate to ringside but interfered by hitting Andrews with a steel chair after the match came down to Pretty Deadly vs. Andrews & Webster.

The Hunt were the first team eliminated from the match and Carter & Smith were the second team eliminated.

Gallus have been NXT UK Tag Team Champions since October 2019.

Non-title match: NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray pinned Isla Dawn (04:18)

Isla comes off a victory over Xia Brookside, who was distracted by Nina Samuels last week. This also was KLR’s first match since her brutal title defense in a falls count anywhere match against Piper Niven a few weeks back.

KLR dominated the early portion of the match, but Dawn took over with a knee strike into the ropes and a running meteora. Dawn scored a close near fall off the Saito suplex she beat Brookside with last week.

KLR came back with a Tornado DDT, then locked in a Koji clutch, which Dawn only narrowly escaped. KLR then hit a super kick and the Gory Bomb for the victory.

After the match, KLR cut a quick promo and said she’d be champion for a long, long time.

A video highlighted NXT UK’s newest signee, Ben Carter.

William Regal, Nigel McGuinness, Ashton Smith, Gallus and Sid Scala all sang his praises. Clips aired of Carter, courtesy of SCWPro in Iowa.

Carter, 22 from Jersey in the UK, started out two years ago and went to the U.S. to train under Seth Rollins at his Black & Brave wrestling school.

He has had matches on AEW Dark, Impact, GCW and Beyond, and will make his debut on NXT UK soon.

**********

A tremendous video of Ilja Dragunov aired.

It was shot in black and white and saw Dragunov sit on a chair in an empty ring, talking about his match with WALTER. He called it probably the match of the year 2020 in WWE and that it was a lion fighting a tiger. He said he promised to redefine violence with this match and he did. But he lost.

He said now, he had to start all over again. The only thing shot in color in this video were his red contact lenses, which he then removed in a close up shot. This was just amazing from an emotional and cinematographic point of view.

**********

Handicap match: Levi Muir & Jack Starz beat Saxon Huxley (05:21)

Huxley attacked both men at the NXT UK Performance Center last week and left them laying.

Starz started out with Huxley, but got manhandled and looked worried. Muir was in next, who seemed to have the strength advantage, but got pounced out of mid-air off a leapfrog attempt. Starz hit a dropkick-assisted body press for a two count.

Huxley hit an impressive gorilla press slam on Starz, then smashed into both opponents on a run around ringside. Starz kicked out of a pin after a gutwrench powerbomb.

Muir briefly was on offense and the team even took Huxley off his feet with a double dropkick.

Starz hit a sunset flip on Huxley who held on to the top rope, but Muir slapped his hands away from the apron, allowing Starz to score the deciding pin for his team.

Huxley attacked both men after the match, but Dave Mastiff ran out to make the save and clotheslined Huxley over the top.

**********

Piper Niven stormed into Sid Scala’s office and demanded that he watch a video on her phone.

It looked like from a CCTV camera at the Performance Center. Niven was seen lifting some weights, then took a quick break, while someone wheeled a chest into the room. Niven looked into it and it contained a steel chair with a piece of paper attached to it.

She gave it to Scala and it looked like a signed contract. Niven demanded a match with Jinny (the chair seemingly was the one Jinny attacked Niven with to cost her the match against Kay Lee Ray a few weeks ago).

It was confirmed Niven and Jinny will meet in a #1 contender’s match in three weeks.

**********

Dave Mastiff was shown walking backstage when he met Rampage Brown. Brown asked him about his interaction with Huxley and Mastiff told him he doesn’t like bullies. This looked like a friendly encounter between friends.

**********

A-Kid in-ring segment —

A-Kid was in the ring with the NXT UK Heritage Cup trophy and talked about how he was the first-ever Heritage Cup champion, won the tournament and eventually even beat his mentor, Tyler Bate.

He said his next step was very clear, and he challenged WALTER for the NXT UK championship.

WALTER walked out and told A-Kid that the next time he stepped into his ring, he must wipe his dirty feet on the ring apron.

He said it was great watching A-Kid in the tournament and he can clearly see he is very proud to be a professional wrestler. But how dare he claim to represent the heritage of this great sport. He said A-Kid was nothing special and like everyone else, his fairy tale will end once he steps into the ring with WALTER.

He said one thing will never change, and that is that WALTER is the NXT UK champion.

**********

Kenny Williams was in the NXT UK Performance Center. He said his health update wasn’t too good.

Amir Jordan walked in all happy and asked him if he was good to go so they could go for the tag team titles eventually. Williams told him he’d support him in his singles career instead.

**********

Trent Seven did a sit-down interview, talking about the Heritage Cup. He said he thought he did enough, but he didn’t.

He was caught up in what the Heritage Cup meant and was looking backwards at all the great men that came before him, when he should have been looking forward.

He said he needed to become better and it sounded like he will be taking a break from active competition, as he stated that he will be gone for a while, but not forever.

Rampage Brown pinned Josh Morrell (03:12)

Brown hit a huge back body drop on Brown, then kicked him out of the ring. Brown kept dismantling Morrell, but the youngster briefly came back with a dropkick and a corkscrew plancha.

Seconds later, Brown hit a devastating clothesline, followed by a dead lift powerbomb and the Doctor Bomb for the victory.

**********

Sid Scala had a breaking news announcement and said if all parties agree, WALTER would defend his NXT UK championship against A-Kid in the new year.

NXT UK Tag Team Championship: Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defeated The Hunt (Wild Boar & Primate) w/Eddie Dennis to retain the titles (07:59)

The Hunt attacked Wolfgang right away and took turns beating him down. He eventually managed to pick up Boar and drive him into his corner, allowing Coffey to tag in.

Dennis briefly distracted Coffey, allowing his guys to take back over. The Hunt were firmly in control as Eddie Dennis played his part at ringside to ensure his team stayed on top of their opponents.

Coffey finally made the hot tag to Wolfgang, who ran wild on both opponents. Dennis freely interfered behind the referee’s back, until Joe Coffey ran out and drove him into the ring steps.

As Joe Coffey argued with the ref, The Hunt went to the top in order to deliver their double flying headbutts. Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster then ran out and pushed The Hunt off the turnbuckles, allowing Gallus to hit their powerslam/head kick finisher on Wild Boar for the successful title defense.

As Gallus celebrated, Pretty Deadly walked out, looking to challenge the champions.

As the teams had words back and forth, Asthon Smith & Oliver Carter came out, attacked Pretty Deadly and threw them into the ring, where Gallus promptly beat them up and threw them to the outside again.

The tag team division in NXT UK certainly looks stacked going into 2021.
