WWE Raw video highlights: Clash of Champions fallout

Kane made an appearance as Raw’s fallout from Clash of Champions took place in Knoxville, Tennessee last night.

After the main event between Seth Rollins and Robert Roode ended in a disqualification, Kane saved Rollins from Roode, Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. But Kane was then attacked by The Fiend. The Fiend put Kane in the Mandible Claw and taunted Rollins.

Kane also appeared in multiple pre-taped videos as Mayor Glenn Jacobs. He won the 24/7 title from R-Truth before dropping it back to him.

Rollins will defend his Universal Championship against The Fiend inside of Hell in a Cell at next month’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks will also face off in a Hell in a Cell match next month. Lynch saved Nikki Cross from Banks and Bayley last night, with Charlotte Flair helping Lynch even the odds against them.

The King of the Ring finals took place on Raw and saw Baron Corbin defeat Chad Gable to win the tournament. A coronation segment for Corbin is set for tonight’s SmackDown.

Plus, Rusev returned to WWE TV last night and got involved in the Maria & Mike Kanellis storyline.

WWE confirms two Hell in a Cell title matches for next month’s PPV

Two expected matches have now been officially added to the card for Hell in a Cell.

On tonight’s Raw, WWE confirmed that Seth Rollins will defend his Universal Championship against The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) in a Hell in a Cell match at the pay-per-view.

Becky Lynch will also defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks inside of Hell in a Cell at the PPV. Following Banks vs. Charlotte Flair from 2016, this will be the second women’s Hell in a Cell match in WWE history.

Hell in a Cell is taking place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on October 6. The venue first advertised last month that The Fiend would be challenging for the Universal title at the PPV.

The Fiend appeared at the end of Clash of Champions on Sunday and attacked Rollins in the show-closing angle. Lynch vs. Banks at Clash of Champions ended in a disqualification when Lynch went to hit Banks with a steel chair and accidentally struck the referee. Lynch and Banks brawled after the match, with Lynch putting Banks in the Dis-Arm-Her inside of a chair.

Tonight’s Raw ended with The Fiend attacking Kane and taunting Rollins. That came after Kane made an appearance on the show and saved Rollins from Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson.

Banks & Bayley defeated Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a non-title match on Raw tonight. There was an angle where Bliss suffered a storyline injury during the match and had to be taken to the back. Banks went to attack Cross with a chair after winning, but Lynch came out with her own chair.

When Lynch was outnumbered by Banks and Bayley, Charlotte’s music hit and Charlotte took out Bayley. Lynch then gave Banks a chair shot and sent her fleeing. Banks later issued a challenge to Lynch for Hell in a Cell, and Lynch responded by saying she wants to face Banks in a Hell in a Cell match.

Update on planned matches for WWE Hell in a Cell

A few notes coming out of Clash of Champions.

Most everything that you would expect coming out of the pay-per-view is the planned direction.

For Hell in a Cell, the plan right now is two matches in a cell, one male, one female with Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks. Hell in a Cell is taking place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on October 6.

After Rollins retained the Universal title against Braun Strowman last night, there was an angle where The Fiend appeared and attacked Rollins.

Lynch vs. Banks ended in a disqualification last night when Lynch went to hit Banks with a steel chair but accidentally struck the referee. Lynch and Banks brawled in a post-match angle, with Lynch putting Banks in the Dis-Arm-Her inside of a chair.

The return of Luke Harper, which was a late decision, was because Erick Rowan needed a tag team partner for a planned match, at least at this moment, against Roman Reigns & Daniel Bryan. Harper helped Rowan defeat Reigns in a no DQ match last night.

The Fiend appears at WWE Clash of Champions

Sunday’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view went off the air with an angle involving Bray Wyatt’s Fiend character and Seth Rollins.

After retaining his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman in the main event, Rollins was celebrating on the stage at the end of the show. The lights then went out and The Fiend appeared. He hit Sister Abigail on Rollins before putting him in the Mandible Claw.

The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California advertised last month that The Fiend would be challenging for the Universal title in a Hell in a Cell match at this year’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The PPV is taking place at the Golden 1 Center on October 6.

The Fiend challenging the Rollins vs. Strowman winner to a match at Hell in a Cell was also brought up on the September 2 episode of Raw.

Rollins pinned Strowman at Clash of Champions after hitting a Pedigree and a curb stomp. Strowman had kicked out of three curb stomps prior to that. Earlier in the show, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode defeated Rollins & Strowman to win the Raw Tag Team titles. Roode pinned Rollins to get the win.

In the only televised match he’s had as The Fiend thus far, Wyatt defeated Finn Balor at SummerSlam. The Fiend also quickly defeated Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas in a dark match after last week’s SmackDown and 205 Live at Madison Square Garden.

The Fiend challenges Rollins vs. Strowman winner for Hell in a Cell

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt has officially issued a challenge to whoever the Universal champion will be for Hell in a Cell.

Wyatt appeared as himself in the latest episode of Firefly Funhouse. The Vince McMahon puppet arrived and was angry that Wyatt had challenged the winner between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman. In response, Wyatt pulled out a wad of cash, saying “look what I’ve been making”. Dollar signs appeared in the Vince McMahon doll’s eyes as Wyatt fed the puppet a dollar bill.

After arguing that Rollins and Strowman didn’t make a great team, Wyatt ended the vignette by saying “see you in hell”.

The Golden 1 Center, which will host Hell in a Cell, tweeted last week that “The Fiend” had challenged the winner between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman to a Hell in a Cell match. Wyatt didn’t mention the Hell in a Cell stipulation in tonight’s vignette.

Hell in a Cell will take place on October 6 in Sacramento, California.

Tag match, new Firefly Fun House episode announced for WWE Raw

UPDATE: WWE has also announced that tonight’s Raw will feature a contract signing for Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman’s Universal Championship match at Clash of Champions.

**********

A tag team match and a new edition of Firefly Fun House have been announced for tonight’s episode of Raw.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will team up as they take on Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a non-title match.

Bayley defeated Cross in a singles match on Raw last week. It came after Bayley pushed Charlotte Flair off of her chair at the end of a Moment of Bliss segment on the August 20 episode of SmackDown.

Charlotte is challenging for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s title at Clash of Champions on September 15. Lynch’s match for the pay-per-view has yet to be announced, though she’s been feuding with Sasha Banks since Banks returned to WWE television.

WWE.com hyped the new Firefly Fun House episode that’s airing tonight: “The last time we saw The Fiend, he brutalized WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler on Raw, but tonight, we will evidently see the other side of Bray Wyatt as ‘Firefly Fun House’ returns with a brand-new episode. What hijinks will unfold upon our return to Wyatt’s Fun House, and will we get any insight as to what is next for either Wyatt or the horrifying Fiend? Tune in to Raw tonight to find out!”

The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California is advertising that The Fiend will challenge either Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match at next month’s Hell in a Cell PPV. Rollins is defending the Universal title against Strowman at Clash of Champions.

The Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland is hosting tonight’s Raw. Raw’s quarterfinal matches in the King of the Ring tournament will take place, with Samoa Joe facing Ricochet and Cedric Alexander taking on Baron Corbin. WWE has also confirmed that Rey Mysterio will appear tonight.

The Fiend advertised for WWE Hell in a Cell Universal title match

The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) may be getting a Universal title shot at Hell in a Cell.

The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California posted a tweet today advertising that The Fiend will challenge either Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman in a Hell in a Cell match at October’s pay-per-view: “Get ready @WWE fans… ‘The Fiend’ @WWEBrayWyatt challenges @WWERollins or @BraunStrowman to a #HIAC match! Get your tickets now, and stay tuned”

Whether or not the match will happen remains to be seen. The Golden 1 Center had been advertising Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre for the PPV.

On last night’s Raw, it was confirmed that Rollins will defend his Universal Championship against Strowman at Clash of Champions on September 15. Both Rollins and Strowman will be wrestling twice at Clash of Champions, with them also set to defend their Raw Tag Team titles against Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

Wyatt’s Fiend character made its in-ring debut at SummerSlam and defeated Finn Balor.

Hell in a Cell is taking place at the Golden 1 Center on October 6.
