Five AEW wrestlers announced for Chris Jericho cruise

The first five AEW talent announcements have been made for this year’s Chris Jericho cruise.

It was announced today that AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker, Orange Cassidy, Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, and Colt Cabana will be part of the Jericho cruise. It’s sailing from Miami, Florida to Grand Bahama Island from Thursday, October 21 to Monday, October 25.

“Excited to announce that @realbrittbaker, @orangecassidy, @frankiekazarian, @facdaniels, and @ColtCabana have been added to our incredible wrestling lineup! More additions to come SOON – stay tuned! #JerichoCruise,” the announcement said.

Chris Jericho will be the master of ceremonies on the cruise.

AEW has a live episode of Dynamite being held in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, October 23. Dynamite is being moved to a Saturday on both October 16 and October 23 due to a scheduling conflict with the NHL on TNT.

Jericho sent out a tweet earlier this week noting that there would still be AEW talent on the Jericho cruise despite the Orlando Dynamite episode taking place while the cruise is happening: “Hey @jericho_cruise rockers!! Just letting you know that even with the #AEWDynamite event on Oct 23, there’s still gonna be an amazing roster of @AEW talent aboard the #TripleWhammy! @TonyKhan & I are putting together the great talent list & the first announcement is this Thur!”

The first two editions of Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea took place in 2018 and 2020. This year’s Triple Whammy version of the cruise was originally supposed to happen in February but was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cruise attendees must be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to departure.

Chris Jericho cruise postponed to October 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next Chris Jericho cruise has been pushed back to October 2021.

“After careful consideration and caution for everyone’s health and safety, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the Triple Whammy,” it was announced today. “We will now sail Oct 21-25, 2021 from Miami, Florida to Grand Bahama Island.”

The cruise, titled “Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Rager at Sea: Triple Whammy,” was originally set for February 1-5, 2021. The first Jericho cruise took place in October 2018 and the second one took place in January of this year.

Cody had announced on this year’s cruise that the Triple Whammy would feature a live episode of AEW Dynamite. An episode of the show was taped on the cruise this year but didn’t air live.

Cody: Next year’s AEW Dynamite will be live on the Jericho Cruise

The second Chris Jericho cruise isn’t done yet and there’s already big news about the third iteration.

After Tuesday’s taping of AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes told the crowd that the show will air live next year on February 3, 2021 as part of Triple Whammy, the third Jericho cruise that sails from February 1-5.

This year’s show had to be taped and as reported on Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Live, there are two tapes of the program being flown on separate charter flights to Atlanta, GA, to ensure it makes air for TNT tonight.

You can get the spoilers for Dynamite now, but here’s the card for the show:

– AEW tag team champions SCU vs. Kenny Omega/Hangman Page

– Priscilla Kelly vs. Britt Baker

– Jurassic Express vs. The Inner Circle six-man tag

– MJF vs. Joey Janela

– Jon Moxley vs. PAC with the AEW world title no. 1 contendership on the line

Third Chris Jericho cruise announced for 2021

The second Chris Jericho cruise has barely begun, but a third cruise has already been announced.

Chris Jericho today announced that there will be a third cruise that will take place next year. Titled Rock N’ Rager at Sea: Triple Whammy, the next cruise will take place February 1st through 5th, 2021. Like this year’s cruise, next year’s will start in Miami and will travel to the Bahamas.

This year’s cruise will have a major AEW influence, as much of the roster is on board. This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will feature matches that will take place on the boat. Matches announced for the show include Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. SCU for the AEW Tag Team titles, Joey Janela vs. Fenix and Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz vs. Jurassic Express in a six-man tag team match.

PAC and Jon Moxley will also face each other this week. The winner of that match will become the number one contender for Chris Jericho’s AEW World title.

Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea Part Deux: Second Wave starts today and will run through Friday.
