TNA Impact live results: The Champions Challenge returns

The Champions Challenge match returns as part of tonight’s TNA Impact from Tempe, Arizona.

The show is headlined by the 10-man match featuring all of the male champions. On one side, TNA World Champion Trick Williams teams with International Champion Steve Maclin, X-Division Champion Moose, and TNA Tag Team Champions The Nemeths against Joe Hendry, Elijah, The Rascalz & Leon Slater.

The female champions will also be in action as Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich teams with Lei Ying Lee against Knockouts Tag Team Champions Ash & Heather by Elegance.

Matt Cardona and a mystery partner will battle Eddie Edwards & JDC of The System.

In a clash of former TNA World Champions, Eric Young takes on Sami Callihan.

Director of Authority Santino Marella will also be on hand with some news as will Mustafa Ali’s Order 4 group.

**********

After the usual show-starting recap package for last week’s episode, and the intro video and “Cross the Line” theme opener, the show settles inside the Impact Zone.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcome us to the show as the Road to Slammiversary continues, with the company celebrating 23 years of TNA Wrestling.

Eric Young (w/ The Northern Armory) vs. Sami Callihan

The familiar sounds of Sami Callihan’s entrance tune hits the house speakers. The longtime TNA veteran makes his way out and settles in the ring for the scheduled opening contest. Eric Young comes out next accompanied by The Northern Armory duo of Travis Williams and Judas Icarus.

Young and The Northern Armory have new theme music when they come out, and they’re also all wearing black hoods with white X’s on them. As they settle in the ring, Callihan, with a freshly-shaved head, attacks before the bell.

Callihan continues to inflict damage on the floor at ringside. He pulls out a steel chair from under the ring, but before he can use it, Young kicks him in the bread basket. Young gets the chair and has Callihan’s arm on the steel steps. He swings it as hard as he can, but Callihan moves in time.

From there, Callihan fights back and takes over. He rolls Young into the ring and plays to the crowd. Upon following Young into the ring, the bell sounds. Young immediately attacks Callihan and goes for a quick pin attempt, only getting a count of two.

Young sends Callihan back out to the floor where his Northern Armory vultures immediately go to work on him. They send him back in the ring, where Young delivers a couple of kicks before sending Callihan right back out.

Williams and Icarus inflict more punishment as Young seems to be beefing with some random dude in the crowd. The referee reaches a count of nine before Callihan quickly springs to life and rolls back in the ring to keep this match alive. Young goes to work on Callihan in the corner.

Hannifan points out that this is match number 714 for Eric Young. Interesting. Young slams Callihan and heads to the top-rope, only for Callihan to come-to and crotch him and climb up after him. Young bites at Callihan’s head. Young leaps off but is caught on the way down by a big shot from Callihan.

Callihan plays to the crowd and begins looking for the Cactus Driver ’97. Young fights it off and counters. The two both gouge the others eyes and then Young looks for the Tombstone. Callihan avoids it and counters with a flatliner. Both guys are down.

Young is up first. Callihan chops him and whips him into the corner. Young flips up and over, Ric Flair in his prime style, and then does the quick-climb up to the top-rope. Unlike Flair, however, Young connects with his follow-up offense off the top, landing his signature flying elbow drop for a close two-count.

Young looks at a potential weapon, and hears Hannifan say something he doesn’t like. He heads out and gets in his face. Hannifan and Rehwoldt says it wasn’t them who said whatever angered him. Young looks around at people in the crowd, intimidating some of them, before heading into the ring again.

Callihan surprises Young, grabbing a handful of non-sunshine mid-level body, use your imagination, and squeezes away. The crowd explodes. Callihan follows up with a big move and goes for the cover, but Young kicks out.

Callihan has Young in place and is calling for the finish, when Williams and Icarus hit the ring. One provides a distraction, while the other blasts Callihan with a steel chair. Young follows up with a piledriver and covers Callihan for the pinfall victory.

Match Result: Eric Young defeated Sami Callihan

Joe Hendry, Elijah, Leon Slater & The Rascalz Talk Champions Challenge

Joe Hendry, The Rascalz, Elijah and Leon Slater are shown backstage with Gia Miller. She interviews them and asks about their scheduled match in tonight’s main event, which features the returning TNA Champions Challenge, with each current TNA title-holder on the other side of the ring.

Hendry, Elijah and Scott take turns, in that order, hyping up the match. The Rascalz then close out the segment calling The Nemeths Hollywood Chumps as opposed to Hollywood Hunks. They ask themselves out loud is Steve Maclin is alright, or if they should kick his ass.

They all walk off together. Hannifan mentions action still to come as the match and segment graphics flash across the screen. The show settles into a commercial break.

Order 4 Summit

The show returns from the break to the sounds of Mustafa Ali’s theme hitting inside the Impact Zone. Out he comes with the rest of the Order 4 group — Tasha Steelz and The Great Hands duo of John Skyler and Jason Hotch.

After they settle in the ring, Ali begins by demanding that Steelz step up first. He mentions her being in charge of his press, and says she has done an awful job. He demands she apologize. He then demands to see her phone. He sees she has been calling “him” and demands she stop.

Ali then calls out Jason Hotch. He talks about their recent issues and mentions how he’s not even the one paying his rent or for the food his children eat. He demands an apology from him on behalf of his wife and children. He apologizes through gritted teeth.

From there, Ali calls John Skyler to come over. Skyler grabs the microphone out of Ali’s hands before he can say much of anything to him. He mentions how unlike Steelz and Hotch, he has no family. He says wrestling is his family. He tells Ali he’s been acting like a jackass.

Ali loses his cool and gets in Skyler’s face. He asks if he remembers who he is talking to right now. He demands him apologize. Not only that, but he orders him to get down on his hands and knees to do his apology. Skyler gets ready to, but stops and refuses. Ali says there’s consequences for his actions. They will fight next week in a “Call To Arms” match.

Killer Kelly Sends A Message To Masha Slamovich

In a new vignette that airs after the Order 4 Summit, Killer Kelly is playing with a chain and rolling around in a red lit scene, where she reflects on her days as part of MK Ultra with current TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich, before making it clear that she’s coming for her title. The show heads to another break.

Ash & Heather By Elegance (w/ M By Elegance & George Iceman) vs. Lei Ying Lee & Masha Slamovich

When the show returns, we see George Iceman in the ring drawing cheap heat with the crowd in attendance, in progress. He then does his dramatic introduction for the greatest TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Champions of all-time.

On that note, out come the reigning title-holders Ash and Heather by Elegance. They head to the ring with M By Elegance to join their personal concierge. The lights go out. The theme for their opponents begins playing and out comes Lei Ying Lee, followed by TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich.

The bell sounds and things get officially off-and-running with Ash and Lee kicking things off for their respective teams. Lee gets the early offensive advantage, leading to a hissy fit from Ash, who stops mid-match to check Google Translate for something. Heather tags in and gets rag-dolled as well.

This leads to Ash and Heather regrouping on the floor at ringside with M and Iceman. As they do, Lee hits a big senton from the corner to the floor on the pile of elegant bodies. Slamovich hits the ropes inside the ring and goes air-born for a big dive as well. The show heads to a mid-match break.

When the show returns, we see some more back-and-forth action, with the Elegance duo pulling ahead due to interference from M By Elegance behind the referee’s back. When Slamovich helps her team shift the momentum, it is a surprise appearance by Killer Kelly causing a distraction that leads to the Elegance brand stealing the win.

Match Result: Ash & Heather By Elegance defeated Lei Ying Lee & Masha Slamovich

The IInspiration Send Message To Knockouts Tag Champions

Backstage, Gia Miller is standing by with The IInspiration duo of Cassie Lee and Jess McKay. She asks for their thoughts on what just transpired in the ring. They tell the Elegance Brand to enjoy their titles while they can, because they’ve got their sights set on them.

A TNA Injury report segment airs with updates on Mike Santana’s bottle attack from AJ Francis. They mention he returns from suspension next week. Tasha Steelz was shaken up after her match last week, but is cleared for action. The show heads to another commercial break.

Jake Something Returns, Attacks Mance Warner

When the show returns, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella comes to the ring to make some announcements. He says it will be Mike Santana vs. AJ Francis in a Street Fight next week when Santana returns from suspension.

He then calls out to the ring someone he describes as a mentor and a legend, Tommy “The” Dreamer. Dreamer makes his way out and joins Santino in the ring. Santino talks about how Dreamer has that dog in him. “And I’m pretty sure it’s a husky, because, well … you’re kind of husky!”

Santino tells Dreamer anytime he wants he can have it, Tommy Dreamer vs. Mance Warner. He says he has the power to make it happen. The theme for Warner hits and out he comes with Steph De Lander. De Lander says “The Innovator of Violence” might’ve been cool in 1996, but she wasn’t even born then.

She says this is 2025 and he might’ve been violent then, but her man, “The Southern Psychopath” Mance Warner, is the most violent and dangerous man walking today. Dreamer says he can’t do this right now, but they need to understand there’s always a bigger picture, and it’s always about something else.

On cue, the theme for that ‘something’ else hits, as the theme for Jake Something hits the house speakers in the Impact Zone. Something makes his way out looking as massive as ever in his surprise return to TNA after an injury hiatus. He attacks Warner, who retreats with De Lander to end the segment.

Indi Hartwell, Tessa Blanchard Have Words

After footage from last week’s show airs involving Indi Hartwell, we shoot backstage where we see Hartwell confronting Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard reminds Hartwell how she helped her in the past.

Blanchard then complains and moans, prompting Hartwell to say the way she’s talking, she’s starting to prove people right the way they talk about her. The show then heads to another commercial break.

Eddie Edwards & JDC vs. Matt Cardona & The Hometown Man

Inside the Impact Zone, the show returns to the familiar sounds of The System’s entrance music. Out comes Eddie Edwards and JDC, accompanied by Brian Myers and Alisha Edwards. They settle inside the ring for scheduled tag-team action.

Out next comes the first of their two opponents, Mr. “Alwayz Ready” himself, Matt Cardona. Cardona gets on the microphone for the big reveal of his mystery tag-team partner. Out comes “The Hometown Man” himself.

In his return appearance, “The Hometown Man,” who teamed with The Hardys and Leon Slater at TNA Against All Odds against The System, makes his way out. The superhero formerly known as Cody Deaner gets the early jump at the sound of the bell.

The match gets all of a few minutes to develop, before “The Hometown Man” gets a roll-up out of nowhere for an unexpected three-count. As soon as the bell sounds, Brian Myers attacks “The Hometown Man.”

Cardona yanks him off of him. The two go face-to-face, but Edwards and JDC attack Cardona from behind. The show heads to another commercial break after the match.

Match Result: Matt Cardona & “The Hometown Man” defeated Eddie Edwards & JDC

TNA Title On-The-Line Next Week On WWE NXT

Following the obligatory recap video package of TNA-related action on this week’s episode of WWE NXT on The CW Network, a graphic flashes on the screen as Tom Hannifan promotes Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs for the TNA World Championship.

TNA Champions Challenge
Trick Williams (c), Steve Maclin (c), Moose (c) & The Nemeths (Nic & Ryan Nemeth) (c) vs. Joe Hendry, Elijah, Leon Slater & The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

It’s main event time!

When the show returns, Tom Hannifan runs down the advertised lineup for next week’s episode of TNA Impact (see below), and then the stage begins getting set for the returning TNA Champions Challenge in our main event of this week’s show.

From there, the self-proclaimed “King of TNA” Frankie Kazarian makes his way out to join Hannifan and Rehwoldt on special guest commentary for the final match of the evening. 20 minutes later, all of the very many ring entrances for those involved in TNA Champions Challenge wraps up. The good guys all do the Joe Hendry turn together.

It is mentioned that Moose, as of tonight, has moved into second place in the longest reigns in the history of the TNA X-Division Championship. TNA World Champion Trick Williams makes his way to the ring last, and then the show heads into a quick pre-match commercial break.

The show returns and the match gets underway. Things start off slow, with Nemeth kicking things off and taking an early offensive lead. He forcably tags in Steve Maclin, who picks up where he left off, taking it to Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz.

Trey Miguel tags in and The Rascalz look for a double-team spot on “Bulletproof” Maclin, who avoids it and has a stop-and-stare moment with them. Maclin looks to make a tag, but none of the other champions, all heels, are willing to do so.

Maclin smacks the crap out of Ryan Nemeth and makes him come in, yanking him over the ropes and slamming him down. Miguel follows up on Ryan and covers him, but Ryan kicks out at two. Trick tags in and helps expand his team’s lead.

Moose picks up where he left off as the show heads into a mid-match break. When the show returns, Trick is in the ring easily handling Miguel, with the action noticeably slower and deliberate than it has been thus far. Ryan sneaks in some cheap offense on Miguel as Trick ties the referee up.

As soon as Maclin tags in, Moose immediately does a force-tag, not allowing Maclin to do anything. This is the second time they’ve done this to the only babyface on their team in the match. Maclin tries to come in again, only to be forced back on the apron in favor of Nic Nemeth.

Maclin ends up in the ring moments later. Joe Hendry nearly tags in, and the crowd explodes thinking that he has. The referee forces Hendry back on the apron due to not seeing it. Maclin refuses to tag his teammates in when he nears his corner of the ring, knowing they won’t let him back in if he does.

Moose ends up back in for the TNA Champions team. Once again Hendry tags in for the TNA All Stars team, but once more the referee was distracted when it happened, so the TNA fan-favorite is forced back on the apron. Moments later, Hendry finally gets tagged and this time the referee saw it.

The crowd explodes as a fired up Hendry hits the ring fresh off the hot tag, and he immediately goes to work on Nic Nemeth. He sends him flying out to the floor and scoops up Ryan Nemeth when he sees him coming. He slams him and off Ryan goes.

He goes for the dramatic turn, and upon turning, sees TNA World Champion Trick Williams standing in his face. The two milk the moment for a few seconds, and then they begin trading shots back-and-forth. Hendry hoists the big-man up and hits him with a fall-away slam.

Hendry tags in Elijah. The crowd do some singing-style chants for “Oh, walk with Elijah!” as he goes to work on “The Hollywood Hunk” in the corner of the ring. Ryan heads to the top and leaps off, but comes down to a perfectly-timed flying knee from Elijah. Leon Slater tags in and hits a leaping switch kick.

Moose filters in and hits a high spot. The Rascalz come in and hit a double-team Crucifix Bomb. Nic Nemeth tries using a title as a weapon, but Maclin lays him out, despite him being Maclin’s own teammate.

In the ring, Hendry hits a Standing Ovation on Ryan. He sends him to Elijah, who hits his tombstone piledriver finisher for the pinfall victory. The TNA All-Stars team celebrate as Elijah’s theme plays and Tom Hannifan does an excellent send-off mentioning the 23-year anniversary of TNA. That’s how this week’s show goes off the air.

Match Result: Joe Hendry, Elijah, Leon Slater & The Rascalz defeated Trick Williams, Steve Maclin, Moose & The Nemeths in TNA Champions Challenge

TNA Impact live results: First-ever Champions Challenge

The Champions Challenge will be a 16-person mixed tag team match where TNA World Champion Moose, Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards & Brian Meyers, X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali, Knockouts Tag Team Champions Alisha Edwards & Masha Slamovich, and Digital Media Champion Laredo Kid will be on one side.

After turning on The Rascalz last week, former World Champion Steve Maclin will go one-on-one with Frankie Kazarian.

Ash by Elegance will look to rebound from her Under Siege defeat as she faces Xia Brookside. If Ash wins, she gets back some jewelry from the company.

In an X-Division showcase, Alan Angels faces Leon Slater.

**********

This week’s show kicks off with a video package looking back at “BROKEN” Matt Hardy and Ryan Nemeth crashing The System’s Championship Celebration on last week’s show, followed by Santino Marella announcing The Champions Challenge 16-person mixed tag team match for this week’s show.

Ash By Elegance (w/ George Iceman) defeated Xia Brookside

Ash tried to insert her own referee, but didn’t get her way. Instead, she was attacked by Brookside to start off on the defensive. The match spilled out to the floor where Ash would then take over, delivering some loud chops to Brookside that echoed throughout the building.

After the match returned inside the ring, Brookside connected with a Lou Thesz press that allowed her to take back control of the action. Ash rolled out to the floor to regroup, but was met with further punishment by Brookside. Ash fought back into the offensive lead and quickly hit her finisher for the win.

Once the match wrapped up, Iceman cut off the post-match announcement by the ring announcer and insisted he take over. He demanded Brookside not only return Ash’s property, but kneel and kiss the rings and her bejeweled knuckles. She instead blasted Ash with a knockout shot and left her laying. Iceman was distraught standing over the unconscious Ash as the post-match scene wrapped up.

Rosemary vignette

A vignette featuring a seated Rosemary aired. She spoke of those finding themselves taking sanctuary despite doing what they are asked, and now Havok is gone thanks to humans claiming they are the heart and soul of TNA.

Santino Marella backstage with KUSHIDA

After the break, Marella was shown approaching KUSHIDA backstage. He asked if he was okay and mentioned being sick for a week after they last spoke. He asked KUSHIDA if he would be okay for his match tomorrow (at the TV tapings) and he assured him he will be.

Leon Slater defeated Alan Angels

The two were fast-paced and all over the place early on with neither man establishing any prolonged offensive lead. Slater got Angels down for a two count, and missed on a home run roundhouse kick attempt. The two had a staredown to a round of applause from those in the Impact Zone.

On the floor, Angels took the lead, catching Slater in the ring apron skirting and blasting him with a big shot. The referee, who also had an interaction with Jonathan Gresham, got violently ill at ringside, continuing the recent trend. A new official took over and Slater hit a twirling back suplex for a close pin attempt.

Angels fought back with a series of back suplexes that dumped Slater on his dome repeatedly. Slater connected with a huge leg lariat that shifted the offensive momentum in his favor. He went to the top rope and connected with the swanton 450 for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Kon came out to a big pop and manhandled Angels as Slater watched on. He began doing the same to Slater until Slater fought back with a variety of kicks — the final of which sent Kon crashing out to the floor at ringside.

Security ran out to keep Kon from going back in the ring. He grabbed one of the security guards and snapped their neck as he yelled, “You’re mine!” to Slater in the ring. He then wore a sadistic smile as he backed up the aisle and left to the back.

Jake Something takes out Cody Deaner

After we returned from the break, we saw Something introduced for a live interview at the top of the stage. He took issue with a comment about his recent loss. This brought out Deaner to assure Jake that he is, in fact, Something, and he and the people are with him.

Jake said he didn’t forget about him joining with Violent by Design. Deaner said he went down the wrong path for years and looking into Jake’s eyes, he fears him going down the same path and he doesn’t want that for him.

He told him he will always be family and he wants him to know that. He’ll always be a Deaner. Jake responded, “The hell I will” and blasted Deaner, laying him out.

Speedball Mountain are ready to battle each other

We saw highlights of Speedball Mountain’s victory at Under Siege and then shot to Gia Miller, who was standing by with the duo. She brought up their victory over ABC and how it resulted in them squaring off against each other next week to determine Mustafa Ali’s next challenger for the TNA X-Division Championship.

They spoke about Under Siege and how their paths have taken them to an abrupt crossroad at next week’s show, where for the first time ever, it will be Trent the Seventh vs. The Ball of Speed. They agree that the best man will win and then bowed to each other.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Steve Maclin

The bell sounded and Kaz demanded the ring announcer “tell all these idiots he is the one and only king of TNA.”

The ring announcer obliged and then Maclin clotheslined Kazarian over the top-rope and out to the floor. We then cut to an early mid-match commercial break. When the break ended, we saw Kazarian had settled into the offensive lead after a stomp to the throat of Maclin draped over the bottom rope.

Kaz remained in the lead for a few moments, but then Maclin hit a Rock Bottom-style backbreaker to shift things back into his favor. Kaz missed a big leg drop on the hard part of the ring apron which led to Maclin hitting a suicide dive through the ropes, splashing onto Kaz in the process.

Back in the ring, Maclin enjoyed the offensive lead for the next few minutes. Maclin hung Kaz upside down in the tree of woe in the corner and told the crowd to “let him hear it.” They did, but when he charged at Kaz, Kaz did a sit-up to avoid Maclin’s onslaught.

Kaz took over and stuck a finger in the eye of Maclin. On the hard part of the ring apron outside of the ropes, a Fade To Black attempt was blocked. Kaz then hit a big spot that sent Maclin crashing-and-burning violently to the floor at ringside.

A countout was teased with Maclin barely making it into the ring by the count of nine-and-a-half. Kazarian looked for the Chicken Wing, but Maclin avoided it. Maclin hit a Busaiku Knee for a close nearfall. He looked for the K.I.A., but Kaz avoided it.

Kaz got the chicken wing moments later and cranked back on it, Bob Backlund-style. Maclin fought it and eventually rolled over into a pin attempt, which forced Kaz to let it go. He didn’t wide-eye stare at his palms afterwards, so not full-on Backlund.

The two fought over to the corner where Kaz got Maclin up to the top and had him in position for the Flux Capacitor, only for Maclin to avoid it. Maclin got Kaz in position for his finisher, but Trey Miguel came out for a distraction. Zachary Wentz sprayed something into Maclin’s eyes, allowing Kaz to hit his Fade To Black for the win. This was the best match of the show thus far.

Gail Kim has a talk with Gisele Shaw

A video package aired in the theme of the old SNL “Deep Thoughts” cloth which saw Kim sitting down with Shaw. A distraught Shaw spoke about coming up short in her title tilt against Jordynne Grace. Kim assured her she lost title bouts in her career, too.

Gisele pointed out she also won titles in her career. Gail assured Shaw everyone needs a helping hand and guidance at some point. Shaw asks where she’s going to guide her. Gail said, “Home.”

Mike Santana sit-down interview

With emotional music playing and various clips of Santana being shown, the wrestling veteran spoke about the personal side of his life being in turmoil. He spoke about needing to get clean and his daughter begging him to stop, as well as his stint in rehab.

The letter from his daughter was shown, along with several touching photos as Santana got choked up and shed some tears describing how much of a life-changing situation that was for him. The interviewer then brought up him coming out on the other end a success story.

The package shifted to focus on Santana’s ongoing issues with Maclin. Santana spoke about the respect he has for Maclin whom he referred to as a “true fighter” like himself. Santana assured everyone he’s hungrier than ever and reiterates his vow to “take spots” from people in TNA.

“Whether anyone likes it or not, I’m here to go,” he said.

First Class are hungry for championships In TNA

AJ Francis introduced himself to boos and then he introduced Rich Swann as the two sat in their luxury box. They talked about it being time for them to get their hands on some TNA championships. Swann said it doesn’t matter which title it is, because First Class are scouting for gold. The more gold, the more money, money, money they’ll get: “Because if you ain’t First Class … you’re last!”

Matt Hardy, Joe Hendry, Ryan Nemeth, Dani Luna, Jody Threat, Sami Callihan, Steph De Lander & Eric Young defeated Moose, Jordynne Grace, Eddie Edwards, Brian Meyers, Mustafa Ali, Alisha Edwards, Masha Slamovich & Laredo Kid in a Champions Challenge tag team match

It’s main event time!

We see a big 16-person staredown with the ring super-crowded, and then things got started as we immediately cut to the mid-match break. When we returned, we saw Grace and Luna exchanging shots. Grace blasted her with a big shoulder tackle coming out of the corner for a two-count.

Luna slapped a rear chinlock on the Knockouts Champion, but Grace rolled through into a pin attempt for another two count. Luna got in some more shots, but Grace struck back and quickly took control of the action again. She made the tag to Laredo Kid, who hit a double-team spot with her.

He goes to work on Luna in inter-gender action, but Luna hits a suplex for a two-count to shift the momentum into her favor. She whipped Laredo into the ropes, who ate a kick from De Lander on the ring apron. De Lander then tagged herself in and took over. Masha Slamovich tagged in for her team.

She and De Lander have an intense stare down, only for De Lander to cower backwards and tag in Jody Threat. The commentators bring up the history between Threat and Slamovich. Slamovich hit a bunch of snap-mares by the hair and then put the boots to her.

Threat connects with a back-elbow as Slamovich was coming off the ropes. Masha tagged in Alisha Edwards at that point, who hit a splash on Threat as she was slumped against the turnbuckles in the corner. Sami Callihan riled up the Albany crowd at ringside as Threat took back over on offense.

Jody hoisted Edwards up and connected with a stalled-suplex into the champions corner. Slamovich tagged back in and shifted the offensive momentum back into the favor of the champions team. Alisha tried hitting a double-team spot with Slamovich, but Threat and Luna hit one of their own.

We were then sent into our final mid-match commercial break of the evening. When the break wrapped up, we saw Ali with a big smile on his face as he was in a comfortable offensive lead in the ring. Nemeth fired up on offense for the other team and helped take over.

Nemeth hit a DDT on the reigning X-Division Champion and tried for a follow-up pin attempt, only for Eddie Edwards to hit the ring and break it up before the count of three. Moose tagged in at that point and dropped down and blasted Nemeth with vicious ground-and-pound.

Ali wanted a tag, but Moose rejected his request and tagged in Eddie Edwards instead. Edwards picked up where Moose left off, taking it to Nemeth, before attempting a cocky pin with his knees on “The Hollywood Hunk.” After getting only two, he tagged the TNA World Champion back in as the legal man.

Moose delivered more punishment to Nemeth and then tagged in Brian Myers, again choosing to keep things within The System members of the champions team. Edwards came back in next and when Ali didn’t get the tag yet again after that, he threw a temper-tantrum and walked out. He went over to the commentators and “officially withdrew” from participating in the Champions Challenge.

He stormed off to the back after that. Meanwhile, Nemeth was still on the wrong end of a one-sided beat down kept within The System members of the champions team, as Myers and Edwards and Moose remain as the legal men, refusing to tag in any other members of the team for a long stretch of time. Nemeth hits the Danger Zone out of nowhere that buys himself just enough time to make it to his corner.

Hardy got the much-needed hot tag and came into the ring like a man possessed, taking it to any of the champions within arms-reach, as he is fed one member after the other, which he quickly and easily dispatches to the delight of the crowd. Hardy led the Impact Zone in a “Delete! Delete!” chant and then went for a Twist of Fate, only for it to be stopped by The System.

Edwards blasted Hardy with a back-elbow but Hardy knocked him down and tagged in Sami Callihan. The commentators bring up the storied history between Callihan and Edwards as “The Death Machine” gets the crowd as hot as they’ve been the entire match. He looked for a Cactus Driver ’97, but is stopped.

Myers tagged in and he and Edwards go for a double-team spot, only for Callihan to hit a double-DDT and tag in Joe Hendry. The crowd noise picked up even more as Hendry hit the ring and took out member after member of the opposition with back-to-back fall-away slams.

From there, all 15 of the remaining competitors in this match end up brawling all over the place. They ultimately splinter off into various pairs in-and-out of the ring, as the three match officials did their best to restore order. Grace hit a big suicide dive, followed by Eric Young. Laredo Kid hit a top-rope moonsault onto a pile of bodies at ringside.

Threat heads to the top-rope for a big Stage Dive onto the pile of bodies, which elicited a thunderous “TNA! TNA!” chant from the crowd in attendance inside the Impact Zone in New York’s capital. A “This is Wrestling!” chant followed as Hendry worked over Myers as the legal two men in the ring.

Edwards comes in and Hendry grabbed them both for choke slams. They fought their way out and Myers hit a spear for a close two-count. First Class duo AJ Francis and Rich Swann are shown watching on from their luxury box inside the building and then Hendry hits his finisher on Myers for the pin fall victory.

The eight members of the Team All-Stars group celebrated their victory with their hands raised in the ring, but then the music stopped and the lights went out. We heard thunder and saw lightning on the big screen. In black-and-white, we saw doctors wheel out someone on a hospital bed.

He is jump-started back to life and up pops PCO. He headed to the ring with a sack of thumb tacks in his hand. He set them down and entered the ring, where Team All-Stars look at him perplexed. PCO opened up the sack and threw out various foreign objects onto the ring mat. The commentators point out he was looking for something specific.

Eventually, PCO pulled a single flower out and presented it to De Lander. De Lander looked around at the crowd for their reaction and then accepted the gesture from “The French Canadian Frankenstein.”

That’s how this week’s show went off the air. Thanks for joining us and follow me on Twitter/X.
