Frankie Kazarian wins Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Countdown to TNA Bound for Glory

Frankie Kazarian is this year’s Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner.

Kazarian and Rhino were the last two in the battle royal, turning it into a one-on-one match. However, it was a short bout as Kazarian low blowed the newest member of TNA’s Hall of Fame and scored the pinfall, winning this year’s trophy.

As a result, Kazarian will now be able to challenge any champion in TNA at any time in the next year. It was noted on commentary that this could play into Bound for Glory’s main event, where Joe Hendry is set to challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship with Kazarian serving as special guest referee. Even if Hendry wins, Kazarian could serve as a spoiler.

In a promo after his win, Kazarian promised that at the end of the show, he would raise the hand of the real TNA World Champion.

Other participants in the gauntlet match include Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, Hammerstone, Jake Something, Rohit Raju, Laredo Kid, Sami Callihan, John Skyler, Bhupinder Gujjar, KC Navarro, Tasha Steelz, Lei Ying Lee, Jason Hotch, Jonathan Gresham, JDC, and AJ Francis.

Sonny Kiss makes Impact Wrestling debut at Bound for Glory

At Bound for Glory on Saturday night, a former AEW wrestler made their surprise Impact Wrestling debut.

Sonny Kiss appeared as one of the entrants in the Call Your Shot gauntlet match at Bound for Glory. Kiss entered the 20-person match as the ninth entrant. She was eliminated by Matt Cardona and Brian Myers.

Kiss’ appearance in the match included a dance-off with Bully Ray.

This September, Tony Khan confirmed that he did not renew Kiss’ AEW contract. Kiss had been with the promotion since its launch in 2019. Khan said he really likes Kiss, but it’s hard to get everyone on television with such a big roster.

Kiss issued a statement following her AEW departure saying that she’s ready for her next chapter and wants to continue to break barriers down.

Cardona and Juventud Guerrera were other surprise participants in the Call Your Shot gauntlet. The match came down to Jordynne Grace and Bully Ray. After hitting the Grace Driver, Grace pinned Bully Ray to get the victory.

The Call Your Shot winner receives a title shot of their choosing whenever they want it. And it didn’t take long for Grace to reveal her plans. Grace declared that she’ll be challenging for the Knockouts Championship at Impact’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view in January 2024.

Trinity currently holds the Knockouts Championship. She retained against Mickie James at Bound for Glory.

Three former Impact stars appear at Bound for Glory

Three former Impact stars made an appearance at Bound for Glory.

All three made an appearance during the 20 person Call Your Shot gauntlet match. The first to return was Daivari, who previously worked for the company under the name Sheik Abdul Bashir.

He was eliminated by the next return, Swoggle, who teamed up with Brian Myers to dump Daivari to the floor. Swoggle was then betrayed by Myers and eliminated soon after. However, before he left, he helped Tommy Dreamer (who wore Road Warrior Animal face paint as a tribute) deliver a Doomsday Device to Myers.

The big surprise of the night was James Storm, who entered at #15. He made it to the final four, but was eliminated by Sami Callihan, who eliminated both Storm and Heath from the match. With Heath’s elimination, he still remains without an Impact contract.

Callihan and Rhyno were the final two entrants in the gauntlet match, setting up a singles match. Rhyno pinned Callihan with a Gore, meaning he will soon get a championship match of his choosing.
