Mike Bailey vs. Yuya Uemura announced for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8

A new match has been added to GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8. 

Impact Wrestling’s “Speedball” Mike Bailey will take on NJPW’s Yuya Uemura. The match was announced in a social media post on Thursday. 

Bailey made his GCW debut in January, and is also scheduled for a GCW show in April, where he will take on Minoru Suzuki.

Bailey is also set for NJPW Lonestar Shootout over WrestleMania weekend, taking on Jay White on Friday, April 1. 

Bloodsport 8 now has eleven matches announced. The show will take place Thursday, March 31 at 3 p.m. Central time and will air on FITE TV. The lineup so far:

Josh Barnett vs. JONAH set for Bloodsport 8

A new match has been added to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8 on Thursday, March 31. 

The event’s namesake, Barnett will take on JONAH in a bout announced today. 

This will be the fifth time that Barnett has competed at Bloodsport. He drew with Minoru Suzuki at the debut event in April 2019, defeated Chris Dickinson at Bloodsport 2 in September 2019, defeated Jon Moxley at Bloodsport 6 in April 2021, then defeated Tiger Ruas at Bloodsport 7 in October 2021.

The bout with Barnett will be JONAH’s first at a Bloodsport event.

Bloodsport 8 will take place at The Collective at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. Six matches are now official for the Thursday afternoon event. The show will air on FITE TV. The lineup:

John Morrison vs. Simon Gotch booked for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8

John Morrison will make his Bloodsport debut as he takes on Simon Gotch at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8. 

The event takes place Thursday, March 31, as part of The Collective during WrestleMania Week. Morrison will compete under his real name (John Hennigan).

On Sunday, Gotch posted an eerie video online requesting a match with Hennigan, seen below.

“So I suppose this should be directed at Josh Barnett, Game Changer Wrestling, and Brett Lauderdale. I would like to offer my services to settle the debate of what John is going to be called inside that ring because I don’t think it’s going to be Johnny Bloodsport. I don’t think it’s going to be Johnny Game Changer, I don’t think it’s going to be John Hennigan. You give me the match and I promise, he’s going to be Johnny F***ing Morgue.” 

After Morrison accepted, Barnett made it official. He was announced for the card last week while Gotch (2-4) will be making his seventh Bloodsport appearance.

JONAH to make Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport debut

For the first time in his young career, JONAH will make his debut at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8.

The show will be held on Thursday, March 31st on Fite TV as part of GCW’s Collective during WrestleMania 38 week in Dallas, Texas.

The former Bronson Reed in WWE NXT has been plying his trade in Impact Wrestling, New Japan and several indies like PWG in recent months.

The 33-year-old is the latest of a growing list of recent additions to the show that includes Jon Moxley, former NXT rostermates Timothy Thatcher and Biff Busick (the former Oney Lorcan), Minoru Suzuki and Janai Kai.

As of now, no matches have been announced.

The Bloodsport format is one is unique to the weekend as it features no ropes and is grappling/submission heavy. This will be the ninth total event in the lineage with one under Matt Riddle’s name and the rest under Barnett’s name.

Jon Moxley announced for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8

Jon Moxley will take part in Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8.

Barnett announced today that Moxley will return for his fourth match at the GCW series at The Collective at Fair Park in Dallas on Thursday, March 31 as part of the WrestleMania weekend festivities. The event will air live on FITE TV. 

Moxley has competed in three prior Bloodsport events. He defeated Chris Dickinson at Bloodsport 3 in October 2020, defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. at Bloodsport 5 in February 2021, then lost to Barnett at Bloodsport 6 in April 2021. Moxley’s match has main evented each of the Bloodsport events he has appeared in.

Moxley joins Minoru Suzuki, Timothy Thatcher, Biff Busick, and Janai Kai in the talent lineup for Bloodsport 8. No matches have been announced as of yet. 

Moxley also currently holds the GCW World title. He won that Championship from Matt Cardona last September, and has since made successful defenses against Nick Gage, and Homicide.
