Mance Warner wins GCW title at Cage of Survival 3

Mance Warner is the new GCW Champion.

Warner won the title shortly after Joey Janela won the Gauntlet of Survival match to become champion. Warner then came in and cashed in his Do or Die title match, pinning Janela with an implant DDT to become the new champion. The show ended with GCW General Manager Matt Cardona, Steph de Lander, Jimmy Lloyd, and Warner celebrating with the championship.

The title was stripped from Blake Christian while he was competing in NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament by Matt Cardona, who is recovering from a torn pectoral muscle. An angle took place on social media earlier in the afternoon where masked men attacked Joey Janela in his hotel room prior to the card.

Other matches on the show, which took place in Atlantic City, saw Effy defeat Warner in a Cage of Survival match, Megan Bayne defeating Mike Bailey, Cole Radrick & Alec Price defeating Yuki Ishikawa and Hideyoshi Kamitani, and Matt Tremont defeating Big F’n Joe in a deathmatch.

New GCW Champion crowned at Cage of Survival 2

There is a new GCW Champion.

Blake Christian won the title at Cage of Survival 2 on Sunday from the Showboat in Atlantic City.

Christian earned the right to challenge the champion at any time by winning the Grab the Brass Ring ladder match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 7. He cashed in on yesterday’s show during the Cage of Survival match between former champion Masha Slamovich and her challenger Rina Yamashita.

Christian took advantage of both champion and challenger having already gone through a grueling match to pin Slamovich and win the belt. The crowd booed and pelted the ring with garbage as he celebrated with the title.

The show aired live on FITE TV as part of the FITE+ subscription package.

Christian becomes the 23rd wrestler to win the GCW Championship and begins the 25th title reign in its lineage. Nick Gage is the only champion to hold the title more than once. His 988 days spent with it across three reigns is also a record.
