After three weeks away, Matt & Nick Jackson returned on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite to back up Kenny Omega and take out the Blackpool Combat Club.
Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta were continuing their attack on Elite members Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler following Moxley and Castagnoli’s win over them. Omega’s music hit and he distracted the group while the Bucks snuck in from behind, leading to a six-man brawl.
The Bucks and Omega were eventually left alone with Moxley who escaped as Omega charged at him with a screwdriver.
The Bucks were taken away in an ambulance at the start of the March 22nd Dynamite due to an off-screen attack by the Blackpool Combat Club. That was done to write the team off for a few weeks as Matt Jackson is dealing with a partially torn biceps that is hoped to be healed by May’s Double or Nothing.

I talk about the return of Adam Cole to in-ring action, the return of Bryan Danielson in a surprise attack on Kenny Omega and realignment with the Blackpool Combat Club, and plenty more.
Two new segments have been announced for the April 5 AEW Dynamite episode.
An MJF Day segment featuring AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman is set for next week’s episode. The segment was announced during this week’s Dynamite.
MJF is currently set up to feud with Jungle Boy following an in-ring promo confrontation on this week’s Dynamite show. MJF invoked Jungle Boy’s real-life girlfriend Anna Jay, stating that Jay had told him that Jungle Boy is “weak between the knees.” Jungle Boy responded by attacking the World Champion.
Also announced for next week, The Blackpool Combat Club will speak on Dynamite.
Bryan Danielson returned to AEW television this week, appearing live on the show for the first time since losing an Iron Man match to MJF at Revolution on March 5. Danielson re-aligned with the BCC, joining in as Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli attacked Kenny Omega in the ring, then Hangman Page and Don Callis in a backstage segment.
Two title matches have already been announced for next week’s Dynamite.
AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter is set to defend her title against top contender Riho in a match announced on Monday’s AEW Dark Elevation.
In the other title bout, AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns will defend their titles against FTR, with FTR putting their AEW careers on the line in the match.
Also set for next week, Ricky Starks will face Juice Robinson.
The announced lineup for the Wednesday, April 5 Dynamite:
AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns defend against FTR in a titles vs. career match
AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter defends against Riho
Bryan Danielson has returned to AEW and has The Elite in his sights.
The former AEW World title challenger appeared on Wednesday’s Dynamite, joining the Blackpool Combat Club in a beatdown of Kenny Omega after his victory over Jeff Cobb.
Danielson looked as if he was going to aid Omega after Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli jumped Omega after the match. His music hit and after he came out, he motioned for them to leave the ring in an apparent show of peace.
He then lined up for a busaiku knee and nailed Omega with it, followed by him joining the BCC in a further attack on Omega. The Young Bucks were injured on last week’s Dynamite while Don Callis and Hangman Page were taken out earlier on this week’s show, leaving all of them unable to assist.
This was Danielson’s first appearance after delivering an emotional speech on the post-Revolution Dynamite several weeks ago where he said he was taking a break following his loss to AEW World Champion MJF in their 60+ minute Iron Man match.
Danielson and Omega have squared off once in AEW history, going to a 30-minute time limit draw at Dynamite Grand Slam in September 2021.
Stu Grayson will return to AEW to team with The Dark Order against Blackpool Combat Club on next week’s AEW Dynamite.
In a trios match announced on social media on Thursday, Grayson will team with Evil Uno and Hangman Page against Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta in Winnipeg on Wednesday.
Grayson’s AEW deal expired last May after the two sides were unable to come to terms on a new deal. Grayson returned to the company for a one-off to team with Dark Order when AEW visited Toronto last October.
Moxley, Castagnoli, and Yuta attacked Page and The Dark Order in an angle on this week’s Dynamite to set up next week’s bout.
The trios match joins a pair of title matches, as well as AEW World Champion MJF’s Re-Bar Mitzvah in the lineup for Wednesday’s episode.
Here is what is announced to this point:
AEW Dynamite, Wednesday, March 15 —
AEW World Trios Championship: House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) defend against Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia) & The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)
AEW World Champion MJF’s Re-Bar Mitzvah
AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy defends against Jeff Jarrett
Hangman Page, Stu Grayson & Evil Uno vs. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta
It appears that William Regal’s time with both AEW and the Blackpool Combat Club in its current form has come to an end.
After he was taken out in an ambulance on last week’s Dynamite, followed by a pre-taped interview that aired on this week’s show where he attempted to explain turning on Jon Moxley and costing him the AEW World title at Full Gear, the Blackpool Combat Club leader went to social media to bid adieu to his former charges:
He wrote, “To the members of the BCC. My favourite song by my favourite band who somehow knew when I was a child to write the story that is my life. It’s been a pleasure fellas. We’ll meet again…..”
The song he linked to is “Far Far Away” by Slade.
On Wednesday during a media call, AEW & ROH head Tony Khan confirmed that he agreed to not pick up Regal’s contract extension at Regal’s request, therefore allowing him to return to WWE to coach his son and be with friends he had made over the last three decades.
In AEW storyline, Regal is still in the hospital with Bryan Danielson by his side. Khan said that as part of the agreement, Regal cannot appear on WWE TV through 2023.
In the aforementioned explanation from Wednesday, Regal said he wanted to teach the BCC an important lesson: to always watch their back. Danielson was the only member of the team not on Dynamite, and there appears to be a collision course between current AEW World Champion MJF, who took Regal out, and Danielson in the future.
While Regal said he would be BCC until he dies, the future of the group is unclear. Claudio Castagnoli will have to join the Jericho Appreciation Society if he loses to ROH Champion Chris Jericho at Saturday’s Final Battle while Wheeler Yuta is challenging ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia on the same event.
A stipulation has been added to the Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta & Shota Umino vs. Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki match at Forbidden Door.
It was revealed on AEW Rampage on Friday that the winning team will gain the man-advantage for their side in the Blood & Guts match on Dynamite.
Blood & Guts will follow similar rules to a traditional War Games match with two wrestlers starting and then further participants entering at staggered intervals. This year’s match will also see six wrestlers on each team.
The Jericho Appreciation Society team will consist of Jericho, Guevara, Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard. They will face the team of Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and the mystery wrestler that Bryan Danielson has selected to face Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door.
Danielson has been out of action since the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double or Nothing with an undisclosed injury. There’s no timetable for his return.
The Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite is set for AEW’s debut in Detroit, Michigan. As of now, no other matches have been announced.
AEW has uploaded footage following tonight’s Rampage, including appearances from the Blackpool Combat Club, Ricky Starks, Danhausen, and more.
You can watch the footage below:
The video starts with Jon Moxley saying he wanted to introduce someone from New Orleans. Danhausen came out, and everyone was perplexed by Danhausen. Moxley didn’t like that Wheeler Yuta knew Danhausen and made him do ten push ups. Danhausen, meanwhile, interacted with William Regal and ended up cursing him.
Bryan Danielson then tried to introduce the real hometown face, but it was Hook instead, entering then exiting the stage. Danielson tried one more time and eventually got the right hometown face, Ricky Starks.
Starks started to cut a promo, but then The Acclaimed came out as Max Caster did his rap. They then ran down everyone in the ring, pointing out their segment last week was the highest rated on Dynamite. Eventually Max Caster entered the ring and everyone took him out. The segment ended with everyone posing for the crowd.
AEW will return on Friday with a live edition of Rampage headlined by Hangman Page defending the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. Battle of the Belts will also be taped that night.
A trios match featuring Blackpool Combat Club, and a Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament qualifier have been added to this week’s AEW Rampage.
In a match announced in a backstage promo on this week’s Dynamite, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club will team against Gunn Club’s Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn.
Also announced, Ruby Soho will face Robyn Renegade in a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament.
Already set for Friday’s show, “Hangman” Adam Page will defend the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole in a Texas death match.
Friday’s Rampage airs at 7 p.m. Eastern time on TNT due to the network’s coverage of the NBA playoffs.
The full lineup:
