VIDEO: AEW Dark episode 16 – Jurassic Express in action

Two matches have been announced for tonight’s episode of AEW Dark, which you can see below:

Taz, who has done announcing work for AEW Dark in the past, will be a part of the broadcast team for this week’s episode. He recently signed a multi-year deal with the company.

Big Swole is set to face Dinamate. The former Impact wrestler is also a former member of LAX, along with Santana and Ortiz. Swole is under AEW contract but Dinamate currently isn’t.

Stronghearts (CIMA, El Lindaman & T-Hawk) will also return to action, taking on the Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt). The latter team will be in action on tomorrow’s edition of Dynamite when they take on the team of Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz.

Tomorrow’s episode of Dynamite will consist of footage taken during Chris Jericho’s cruise. MJF will take on Joey Janela, while Britt Baker will face Priscilla Kelly.

A number one contender’s bout is also set. The winner of a match between PAC and Jon Moxley will get the next AEW World title shot.

The cruise will also tape matches for next week’s AEW Dark.

AEW officially confirms signings of Kris Statlander and Big Swole

AEW has officially confirmed that two members of their women’s division have signed with the company.

AEW posted tweets today announcing the signings of Kris Statlander and Big Swole. Statlander debuted for the promotion by teaming with Swole on an episode of AEW Dark last month, while Swole’s first match for AEW was the Casino Battle Royale at All Out.

Statlander has wrestled on Dynamite twice and defeated Hikaru Shida in a singles match on last Wednesday’s show. Statlander has a 1-0 singles record (1-2 overall) and is ranked fifth in the latest women’s division top-five rankings. Shida is still currently ranked as the top challenger to AEW Women’s Champion Riho.

Swole has wrestled on Dark four times, losing two tag matches and two singles matches.

Swole is making her Dynamite debut against Emi Sakura on this Wednesday’s show. It’s taking place at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas and will also feature The Young Bucks vs. Santana & Ortiz in a Texas street fight and Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall vs. The Butcher & The Blade.

Big Swole vs. Emi Sakura announced for AEW Dynamite

The card for Wednesday’s Dynamite is up to three announced matches.

AEW announced today that Big Swole vs. Emi Sakura will take place on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. The Young Bucks vs. Santana & Ortiz in a Texas street fight and Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall vs. The Butcher & Blade are also set for the show. In storyline, MJF picked Marshall to be Cody’s partner.

Sakura is currently the third-ranked challenger in AEW’s women’s division. Hikaru Shida is ranked first, Nyla Rose is second, Britt Baker is fourth, and Kris Statlander is fifth.

Sakura’s only singles loss in AEW was when she unsuccessfully challenged for Riho’s Women’s Championship at Full Gear.

This will be Big Swole’s Dynamite debut. She’s had four matches on AEW Dark and was an entrant in the Casino Battle Royale on the All Out pre-show.

The Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas is hosting Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

Big Swole and Sadie Gibbs added to AEW Casino Battle Royale

Two more entrants have been confirmed for the women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out.

AEW announced today that Big Swole (Aerial Monroe) and Sadie Gibbs will be taking part in the Casino Battle Royale. The match will be part of the All Out pre-show on Saturday, August 31.

Monroe is an Air Force veteran who is from Clearwater, Florida. She participated in WWE’s Mae Young Classic last year, losing to Zeuxis in the first round.

Gibbs is signed to AEW and will be having her first match for the promotion at All Out. She’s from the United Kingdom and debuted for Stardom earlier this year.

The winner of the Casino Battle Royale will advance to the match to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Champion, which is taking place on AEW’s TNT premiere on Wednesday, October 2.

There will be 21 entrants in the Casino Battle Royale, including members of the roster and others who aren’t signed with the company. It will begin with five wrestlers in the ring, with groups of five entering every three minutes after that. The 21st wrestler will then enter on their own.

Teal Piper, Ivelisse, and Jazz have officially been announced for the battle royal, with Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Yuka Sakazaki, Allie, and Brandi Rhodes also mentioned as being entrants.
